Steve Bruce has sung the praises of new signing Wes Brown, after a four year deal was completed today.
“We are delighted to welcome a player of Wes’ ability, experience and character to the club,” said Bruce. “He has been a fantastic professional for Manchester United through the years and not only will he strengthen our defensive options, he will also bring with him a winning mentality and level of maturity which can only be positive for the players around him.”

There’s no title lol.
Somebody messed up with the title!
Scott….
Did anyone mention there’s no title?
Oh yes. They did
anyone know how much for? im guessing about 4-5million?
thanks
No title. That’s something Wes is going to have to get used to at Sunderland.
I always thought wesley would join the likes of neville, scholesy etc… and retire at United. oh well!
All the best Wes… it surely is going to feel weird playing sunderland what with them trying to have most of the players we want to sell.
Doghouse- Hahaha good one!
MUFCJord,
1 million pounds is the figure quoted by Guardian.
Title Suggestion: Say it ain’t so Wes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Itssssssssss Wesley In A Winter Sunderlanddddddddddd
Will miss both you and O Shea, gutted to see two mainstays go like this but I guess the wage bill and the squad list needed trimming to accommodate the youth coming up and new signings!
@Doghouse. The bites from friends are the deepest. La Ha ha ha.
Best of luck to you Wes. You were a united lad and we surely loved you to pieces!
Hope you can stay fit and help Brucie take points off of all the other top teams. Just don’t show up against us. We don’t need another Birmingham or Everton who show up against us but are nowhere to be seen against le arse or the chavs.
Wes, you legend. Have a great time at Sunderland.
and carsick gets to stay? what bollocks
He’ll do well under Brucie.
Carbang prick – Just addressed you on the previous thread. You make me fucking sick you do , you cunt. You never contribute anything to this blog aside from your hatred to Carrick. Do us all a favour and bore off.
make me cunt
@carBANGrick
why are you sooo obsessed with Carrick.
make you cunt? What does that mean pal?
once of those self righteous cunt who always think you have the last say, dont give a flying fuck what u say fuckface
Sunderland will definitely have a new look next year. I would like to see O’Shea not go, but wouldn’t be upset if Gibbo goes. Best of luck to them as they are trying to move into the top 10.
I wonder where this leaves us. We can assume that the fee for these three will not top more than 12-15 mil, if that, so I don’t know if this counterbalances our summer spending too much. Moreover, we will need to spend fairly high if we finally do sign our CM replacement.
There is 19 titles .
Increase the peace!
You call this thread 30090.

I understand you have issues and at times you seem out of place but all will get well soon. No doubt your childhood was extremely tramatic that with your grand daddy touching you in the pants and you being the center of attention in your dads late night parties. You also dont have to feel guilty to the fact that you enjoyed the attention and the fact that you like being surrounded by older and more dominant males is just a throw back from the days of you chugging down Harry Munk like no tommorrow. Most people just hike up the shirt tales and mince off down to some back street wine bar but you just want to be the complete arsehole first. You dont have to over compensate your tiny dick and lack of ballsack by being a bigger arse because gays will fuck anything that smell like you do. I say let your hair down love and toddle of and get yourself a new frock. Nasri will be along soon and you wont have to worry about Uniteds midfield when your beloved Cities will obviously be so much better.
1 million for brown that’s a good deal for sunderland, we always sell our players to cheap
@Doghouse, LOL! Good One.
I wonder how Sunderland fans feel about the whole United B-Team business. I am sure they’ll be happy that they’re getting some of the best youngsters in England on loan and some of United’s best squad players as signings, but I would still like to know what they make of the whole situation.
Off topic, anyone who usually buys the news of the world paper, Sundays edition, is the last one ever. They got found out at last.
doghouse – LOL!
What you on about willie found out for what. I miss the nipple count. Over here in sweden we get a smorgasbord of lesbian natter and a women in short hair count.
@jasonpark
1 million? Really? That’s a disgrace. Were we this desperate to see him?
getting rougher on the forum lately,lack of appreciation it seems.Speaking of whichI told my pal I was going on holiday and he asked me if I would bring him back fags.
Sure thing what type and how many I asked.
Embassy regal three sleeves x 200 =600 in total said he.
When I came back I gave him his fags.
How much is that I owe he asked.
£204 60p.I told him.
Christ that’s pricey he said where did you go.
Butlins I said.
and did he appreciate it?
Thank you Wes and best of luck. Loyal servant, top professional and in an ever increasing age of money hungry mercenaries another example of why United have continued to be dominant.
VDS, Neville and Scholes retired. Wes, O’Shea, Gibson and PIG to be sold, Hargreaves cut and a whole host of loans on their way out?
Jesus Christ. Talk about purging the ol’ balance sheet.
Gotta love SAF
Lord Ferguson: Brucie, I’ve got some housekeeping to do. I see you bent the Dippers over on that Henderson bloke, top marks. O’Shea, Brown and Gibson for 12 million quid.
Brucie: Errr, we’ve got our own wage issues here Sir Alex, I’m not sure I can…
LF: (Clears Throat)
Brucie: Will that be cash or check?
LF: Cash
Brucie: Does this mean we get to keep Danny Welb…hello? Hello? Fuck
*sell him*
just read somewhere that the deal was worth only 1MILLION!!!…..that is insane.I mean we should get a decent price for someone who is clearly a talented defender,with LOADS of experience at a high level!!….if we wer going for someone like him his price would have increased exponentially!!!
Costas
We weren’t neccessarily desperate to get rid of Wes like you say but it must be a little harder to balance the books now considering your supposed to have 25 squad players and a team like United cant really afford hangers on – excuse the expression.
1 million f***k what f***k ridiculous at such amounts dont want to see JOS go!
Good luck Wes! Look after him Brucie!
gaurav12931
The price is low for two reasons friend
1. He cost us nought to begin with so there isnt that desperation to recoup loses.
2. Hes been a loyal servant to the club and you repay loyal servants by allowing him to go off and get the best deal for himself. He’ll get better pay now or atleast be able to keep his old wage. A club like Sunderland cant afford both a hefty transfer fee and hefty wage (hefty by their standards) so can only do the one. The clubs that can pay wont want to start with a 31 year old center back to build from.
We needed to get rid because we need the squad placements especially if we are going to buy older than 21 foreign imports. (Homegrown rules and age rules)
@Goat
I don’t believe the squad size was the issue. Edwin, Scholes and Neville’s retirements made up for De Gea, Jones and Young’s additions. Like I said earlier today, whereas I don’t see the logic behind the O’Shea situation, I can see whey Brown is leaving. That being said, did we even take the time to assess whether we could get a bidding war for Wes? I remember hearing Everton were interested. 1 million is really insulting for a player of his caliber, I don’t care if he played 15 games last year.
Sneider is only four years younger and we want to spend 35 mln on him?? Best we wait for Pobga.
Why do we sell players so cheap? 1 million is fuck all.
Costas
It always been that way at United mate. I dont think we got much for Hughsie when he went, nor Pallister, cant remember remember what happened when saying goodbye to other great servants but its not the right thing to do. If we are forced to sell a player prior to when was originally planed, i.e. Beckham and Veron, Van Nist and Ronaldo then we get our money but when a players done his time and has sacrificed alot as second string players do, sitting and not grumbling, then we owe it to them to get something back.
@Goat
I think Hughes cost 1.5 mil. But in 1995, that was considered a lot better than 1 mil is in today’s market. And Pally cost 2.5 mil. I realize what you mean and I didn’t expect Brown to be sold for what he is truly worth. But 1 mil feels like piss take mate. Greek clubs could afford to buy him ffs.
In general I do believe we have a hard time selling players for what they are worth. Beckham for 22 mil or Ruud for half of what we bought him for wee bargains for Real in my opinion. Ronaldo and Stam were two cases where we got it right I feel.
@Costas, Plus we have good relations with Sunderland mate. That should not be discounted in this discussion. They take our youngsters and give them proper first team football. Their coach is a United legend and made his admiration for these three players pretty clear. There is no point in starting a bidding war although one would’ve yielded better results.
It came down to the great relationship between us and Sunderland, the relationship between Sir Alex and Brucie, the relationship that Brown had with us that made us respect his decision as Goat said. In all honesty, the fee just seems like a formality. He’s going to a club where he is going to miss nothing except the trophies. Everything else remains the same.
BREAKING NEWS FOR CEDARSDEVIL..
ur dream has come true mate, enjoy it to the fullest,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWONcfgUPcA
others too enjoy it, though i m not sure if its real footballer
sorry for off topic, apologies.
one wesley out, another wesley in ! come onnnnnnn fergieeeeeeee !!!
@Balaji
I realize what you are saying, but I think Everton was a better option for him. They take care of our player just as much as Sunderland do and I feel that they matched Wes’ ambitions better than Sunderland do. I don’t see why we have to act all nice and don’t start a bidding war about Wes. This price tag is disespectful to Wes himself more than us.
Was Brown sold for 1 million? If so, it appears that number was chosen as the lowest reasonable value possible. To sell him for 50p is a bit … cheap.
We have already fully recouped the ‘extra value’ that we now don’t get, from their dedication.
The same dedication we want from those senior players that remain.
In fact Carrick, Fletcher, Hernandez, all three are watching closely, along with every one else.
Transfer targets too. It all adds up to being a great club to come and play for.
I just heard that SAF spoke to VDS about Van der wiel at ajax.Ajax don’t want to sell but put £20m valuation on him.VDS spokeperson leaked this in dutch press.It makes sense as to why O’shea may leave
its official JOS has signed for sunderland. Truly gutted. Hoping it would stay unresolved or as rumors.
T4M – as for the Van Der Wiel link, I have just one thing to say to that:
…
sandeep1878
Thanks for that link buddy!
Female footballers need to take note!

On a side note – TAKE THAT WINNING MENTALLY AGAINST ARSEANAL, CITEH, CHELSKI AND LOSERPOOPSS and be “injured” against Utd!!
