The domestic cup competitions are problems in every big league (la liga, serie A, bundesliga, PL etc.).
What if the winner could play in the champions league? 3 participants from the league, 1 participant from the winner of the main domestic cup?
Okay, okay, it would be difficult to solve it, but it would bring a massive importance for these cup games…

United’s withdrawal from the FA Cup in 2000 was, it is now clear to me, forced upon the club by the men in suits.

As for clubs fielding weakened sides in the FA Cup, and a building consensus the competition is not held in the same regard it used to be, again the blame can be laid at the door of the FA.

The distribution of wealth, not between clubs or divisions, but between competitions, is driving a wedge between clubs and the importance they attach to the FA Cup.

The fact remains that clubs consider finishing in the top seven in the league a far easier route to Europe than winning the Cup. The fact that it is all about qualifying for Europe, and the financial rewards that brings, and not about the glory of winning the cup, is at the heart of the controversy in the game.

Do not blame the clubs, blame the FA.

The FA cup is still a great competiton and we were all gutted when we lost in the final.

Ok it is 3rd priority but the fans and players still would love to win it.

they don’t care much because they seem to be much concerned on champions league and English leaque they chase fa cup when they are not good enough to win the other two.

I personally want Manchester United to win the FA Cup every year, last seasons run was great. Hopefully this year we’ll avoid replays and keep fresh for the big ones Champions League and my main priority the Premier League. We are record holders of the Cup and for that reason alone, not to mention loads more, I want us to win to keep the record in our hands.

The FA Cup is only magic for the minows, in the hope they can face a top flight side, maybe earn a replay and some deserved cash. For teams like the top four, the fans kind of take these things for granted.
