Absolutely No Chance Of Vida Leaving

Whilst Nemanja Vidic is still working on coming back from an injury which has ruled him out for the rest of the season, his agent, Silvano Martina, claims there is no way he will be leaving the club in the summer. Vidic’s current deal expires in 2014.

“Vidic for Manchester United is like Messi for Barcelona. How could you take him?” he said. “He’s the United captain and a key player for Sir Alex Ferguson. A move next summer is absolutely not an option. The player is only thinking of recovering as soon as possible from his ugly knee injury.”

I don’t want to be one of those Utd fans who sees the glass half empty and I will be trilled if I’m wrong BUT I can’t see our beloved UNITED lifting a trophy this season without Vidic. The day he got injured all sorts of bad results came our way and when we conceeded 6 at home to Shitty he wasn’t playing either.
People will tell me that I’m already throwing the white towel……… Who can blame me ?
All I konow is that in these last few months my life was a misery !!!
Today fortunatley we are not used to loose, not like shitty. They are even used to play in lower divisions vs the likes of Exeter, Shrewsberry and so on……..

  8. WillieRedNut says:

I heard he comes from Serbia and he’ll fucking murder ya? Anyone else hear about this? :)

  9. Briggsy says:

Of course he won’t leave, he’s injured long term!

on the bright side of the defensive situation I thought Smalling was incredible yesterday…can’t believe he hasn’t been getting a mention

easily man of the match for me

what’s that coming over the hill ?
    it’s nemanja ! it’s Nemanjaa !

  13. gaz says:

fucking love Vida best defender we have had since Stam!

  14. kiccha says:

    btw where is cedars ?

  15. Utd4life says:

If he was not injured then we wouldn’t be conceding goals at such an alarming frequency. His injury has been a huge loss to us. Get well soon Vida.

  16. wayne says:

If the move was going to happen i’d been a few seasons ago.Spain jacking the tax law up to 54% from 24% is going to make players think, should change the whole dynamic of transfers.Players like Ronnie making 250k a week will be forking over a extra 75k in taxs every week, going to piss off alot of players.

  17. kanchelskis says:

    @kieran

Really? I was a bit disappointed with him second half. He seemed to be giving Aguero miles of space – was never tight to him. I guess with the lack of support he had by that stage he was taking a calculated risk of having him running at him rather than getting tight and being turned. But I got the willies whenever Aguero collected the ball and wondered where Smalling was.

Won a lot in the air though. Good lad.

  18. WillieRedNut says:

kiccha – Cedars is taking a few days off. I’m sure he’ll be back. :)

  19. AlphaRS says:

    @kanchelskis

I don’t think Smalling was half as bad as Rio.
Rio looked really slow and leggy against The Massive yesterday.

  20. kieran says:

    @kanchelskis

yeah he should have been tighter to aguero for their second but apart from that…
I’ll put it to you this way, had vidic won all those headers and been as cool on the ball we’d all be on here to see who could praise him the most

not a slight on vida btw just comparing the 2

  21. gaz says:

considering smalling was out injured and this was his first game back for a while i taught he did quite well i belive he may have tired towards the end of the second half and i dont know how much training the lad had in the build up to the game but for me it was a huge boost seeing his name on the team sheet. Not as huge a boost as having scholesy back but a boost none the same!! I am really pissed at all the Journos constant wank fest over shitty because they showed “heart” fuck me what a load of bollocks they only reason they got 2 goals was because we took our foot off the gas for some reason. there was fuck all credit to how we set up and how we made them look very average in the first half. Then again thats to be expected from those fucking lying Jouno hobbits out there.

  22. James21 says:

Personally don’t think Ronaldo was disloyal in any way. Granted he wanted to go to Madrid but he never kept that a secret. He always gave his best for Utd and kept a level head inspite of the stick he got from Rival players ,fans and the media. The media crucified him when they claimed he got Wayne Rooney sent off. Our media always look for a scapegoat though when England fail, whereas it would be far easier if they just admitted that England aint good enough.

Vidic has been a great loss this season and we have struggled to cover him with all the other injuries. The man is solid and one of the best Defenders we have had. Can’t see why he’d want to leave but you never know what agents are up to or what the player wants. I’ve never heard directly from Vidic of any unrest or comments stating he wants to go.

    Willie
    Thats very true. :)

    Kieran
He just gets on with it. Paul Parker was the same, used to be so cool and composed and just got on with his job. Dennis Irwin was another a true profesional. Smalling is amazing and still very young, hasn’t let anything go to his head. Hope he’s at Utd for life.

  23. kieran says:

    @alpha

agree with ye to a point

he wasn’t awful but has definitely lost some pace…was very sloppy on one or two ocassions too. I recall him giving jones an earful for not being in ‘position’ to clean up a dodgy pass

  24. Stinkfly says:

Let’s hope Vida fully recovers fully and returns to the man mountain we know and love – not guaranteed by any means with an injury like this.

  25. kanchelskis says:

Yeh, maybe I’m being a tad harsh on Smalling given that he’d been out for ages and came straight in to play 90 mins. If he can get a run at CB and play to his best, it’ll make a big difference to our back 4 I think.

Also, with Scholesy back and hopefully the twins to work their way back into the team too, Phil Jones might just get a rest. I fear for his body – the lad’s 19 and I can’t remember the last time he missed a game. Not cool.

  26. WillieRedNut says:

Smalling looked ok to me yesterday. He’s missed a few games, don’t forget. You can say he might have done better for city’s second. I’d look at Evra and Scholes messing about on the touchline, more than Smalling tbh.

James – Tell Cedric his adoring public await his return. :D

  27. kieran says:

    James

ha denis irwin memories flooding back :)

  28. ClaytonBlackmoresTan says:

It’s difficult to move clubs when your leg is in pieces, it’s like saying there is no way that Stephen Hawking beat the shit out of that woman, thanks for clearing that up then.

    Get well soon el Capitano.

Smalling is absolute, whack it on your Melton Mowbury pork pie Colmans M-U-S-T-A-R-D. Rio had a slight wobble yesterday, Smalling is the new version of him- minus the Charles fuelled gangbangs.

  29. seanmthered says:

@Kieran…. Smalling is the new Ledley King (Minus the injuries haha) I love how he defends, he has everything, if we hadn’t had him there towards the end think we would have been in trouble . His reading of the game is second to none, pace, power good on the ball I really really think he’s going to be our best defender as well Englands. I love Jones but his swash bucking style can cause problems for himself as well as the team. Smalling was my MOTM yesterday as well after not training all week I thought he was brilliant Rio did him no favours whatsoever. UNITED

  30. Costas says:

Sure, his injury has simplified things hasn’t it? I bet Santino Marella’s (as Fred called him once) tune would have been different if Vida was fit now.

  31. keegan4england says:

I live in Spain and the way Madrid fans are treating our Ronnie is nothing short of disgraceful!! He’s broken records, scored countless goals etc but they are constantly whistling and booing him. its shocking behaviour. Madrid fans are and always will be a bunch of impatient fascist bastards, but i dont get how they treat one of the greatest players of his generation……and its not as if he is playing badly. it goes back to December 10th when Barça beat them 1-3 at the bernabeu and Ronaldo missed 2 sitters. It sums up the fans attitude.

COME BACK RONNIE!!! FUCK THE MADRILEÑOS!!

  32. FletchTHEMAN says:

Vidic back and fit would be a dream. But after the luck we have had with knees, I can’t be too optimistic.
Love Vidic and think he is a class act. Rio is like Pally, very iffy back. Vidic has knee issues like Bruce had. Just have to live with it. Thank the stars we have really young talent that can build on the opportunities that will be available. Smalling has really impressed, giving away very few pens. Evans will improve as well. Very difficult for these big lads to be deft around forwards half their size. That is what separates Vidic and Rio from the youngsters…positioning and timing. But they didn’t have it at 20-22 either. It will come. Think we have alot of positives in defense that will start to shine in a couple of years. Not that I have too many complaints right now. We should have had 5-1 yesterday. I will take the 3-2 win just the same.

  33. Costas says:

    @keegan4england

Doesn’t surprise me mate. The other Ronaldo (one of the very few players to ever score a hat trick at OT) was on the receiving end of the same kind of crap. They are plastics. And sadly, a lot of us predicted that Ronaldo was in store for this back when he left. Yeah, he hasn’t played well against Barcelona, but which of their players has?

I wish I could believe there was a way for him to come back, but it’s all a dream. If Real decide to sell him, there is a club in Manchester that can afford him, but it’s not us.

  34. Costas says:

Plus, wasn’t it Ronaldo’s goal that beat Barca last year in the cup final? Funny how quickly fans forget.

  35. WillieRedNut says:

There is only one way Ronnie could come back to United. It’s easy though. ;)

  36. keegan4england says:

Did you know out nett spend in the transfer market in the last 4 years is less than blackpool?

  37. Costas says:

Yeah willie. When he retires and we need a winger…

  38. Costas says:

That net spend figure is tricky. The 80 million we got for Ronaldo makes it look like that. But it’s obvious we haven’t spent as much as our rivals (Arsenal excluded) have.

  39. WillieRedNut says:

If the glazers sell United! :)

  40. WillieRedNut says:

I think the nets at OT aren’t too bad? Look the proper netting?

  41. Costas says:

They are not bad. But they are worried at the thought of getting hit by a Scholes shot again. ;)

  42. James21 says:

Blackpool’s an expensive place these days. :)

  43. wayne says:

Getting booed and jeared by the home fans is fucked up,i guess Ronnie didn’t even celebrate his final goal the other night, fans were cheering when he misfired.Must be hard on a player to get grief from both sets of fans

  44. smartalex says:

When did Nemanja’s agent, Silvano Martina, make this claim?

My research doesn’t indicate it’s timing, I presume because I don’t speak Italian.
The earliest article I could find appeared today at 12:44 on iCalciomercato.it

I ask because it seems too coincidental that this Agent would today at last declare categorically:
“How could you take him? He’s the United captain and a key player for Sir Alex Ferguson. A move next summer is absolutely not an option”; when Spain has just repealed it’s “Beckham Law”

It was at that moment, that it became better for Silvano if Vidic stayed at United, so he immediately changes course, and turns it into “Vidic loves United. He wouldn’t let you down. He’s your most important player, and don’t you dare forget it!”

Vidic does love United, but Silvano is a glib and selfish man who’s words mean nothing.

  45. Zibbie says:

    Vida. the Capo,
Wayne great news in Spain, level the ground a bit.

  46. gaurav12931 says:

ronaldo cant come back to united, even if we somehow afford his transfer fee, there is no way we can afford his weekly wages,so i’d rather have him in madrid than see him play for city though i doubt he’d ever do that.

  47. gaurav12931 says:

ronaldo cant come back to united, even if we somehow afford his transfer fee, there is no way we can afford his weekly wages,so i’d rather have him in madrid than see him play for city though i doubt he’d ever do that.

  48. Steven Herbert says:

Vidic has to stay, although we need more players to back up the defense Vidic is a big player for Utd and to see him leave would be a huge loss. I think Fergie should step up the pressure to buy Schnider to bolster the midfield..please………..as for our neighbours if they don’t win the league this year for all the money Manchini has spent I think it will curtains for him. As he keeps saying “it’s very important”. Rant over have a nice day fellow supporters.

  49. wayne says:

Zibbie hi mate yes 54% is higher than England if Ronnie is making 250k,his tax just jumped from 60k a week to 135k a week.lol alot of money.

  50. smartalex says:

wayne – I wonder if any endorsement money paid to Ronaldo is also affected.

He might leave Spain, and surely you are right to say that we’ll be hearing a lot less of the:
“Barca is my dream Club, since I was a boy in Chechnya (or where-ever!)”

  51. wayne says:

smartalex don’t know about endorsements,i’m guessing that money goes to CR7 which would be different to his playing wages, probably got that listed in a different country but don’t know.
Of course any club would be my boyhood favourite if it was going to save me 75k a week in taxs.lol

  52. @samriley9 says:

    HE’LL FUCKING MURDER YA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    NEMANJAAAAAAAAAAAA.

  53. DohaRed says:

Denis Irwin – greatest fullback in the history of the planet.

Greatest United defenders – Martin Buchan, Jim Holton, Gary Pallister, Steve Bruce, Nemanja Vidic

  54. NBI Red Onion says:

Rio is also one of our greatest defenders, when fit and young he was the best in the world, now his age and injuries make people forget how incredible he was. Nemanja became better playing with him.
