Ahead Of Our Game Against City…

I was surprised when United were drawn against City in the semis. After really interesting/coincidental draws being made time and time again, it seemed set up for us to face each other in the final.

But then, things that seem too good to be true often are – ask any City fan. The League Cup final last season fell on the 34th anniversary of the last time they won a trophy. The giddy twats were designing pictures of Roberto Mancini stood in front of Wembley with “The Future Is Almost Here”. United then went to beat them in injury time at Old Trafford and three weeks after that Stoke knocked them out of the FA Cup. Another year without a trophy and “the future”, assuming they believe that to be a place where trophies are waiting for them, wasn’t close enough.

So, City have finally got their day at Wembley, but only because the FA want to rinse the fans in this country of their hard earned cash by arranging the semi-finals at the national stadium. All four semi-finalist have to make the journey down to London this weekend, as well as Wigan fans (all 27 of them!) and West Brom fans, and anyone taking part in the London marathon. Oh and the M1 will be closed too. Excellent.

I suppose I am relieved that the FA isn’t a fix though, because if it was, we’d certainly have to wait until the final to face City, knowing that 90 minutes of football could decide whether we’d win the Double (assuming we win the league) or whether City end their 35 year trophy drought. Unbearable. As it is, we’re potentially their penultimate challenge in their quest for silverware and United have far bigger fish to fry, in the form of a league title and European Cup semi-finals, after the weekend. Maybe that’s what makes the fixture as a semi-far more bearable. Saturday isn’t the end of our season, win or lose, so whilst I certainly want us to book our place in another FA Cup final and certainly want us to deny City of silverware, our priorities have to be winning that record 19th title and booking another date at Wembley in the Champions League.

What is disappointing is Wayne Rooney missing out on the occasion, given how well he tends to do against them. Despite both Chicharito (17 goals) and Dimitar Berbatov (21 goals) scoring more this season, Rooney is really starting to hit form so it’s a shame he won’t be playing.

To counter-balance this, Carlos Tevez is missing for City, after doing his hamstring in their 3-0 defeat to Liverpool. After Tevez, Mario Balotelli is their 2nd highest scorer this season, with just 6 league goals and 10 in total. Tevez isn’t just important to them, he’s vital, and his absence will effect them mentally as well as anything else. They looked like battered men at Anfield this week with their chins on the floor. Does Mancini have it in him to inspire a performance from them? Possibly, but I fancy Sir Alex Ferguson to do a better job of that with our players, not that they need too much help from the manager, with that winning mentality so deeply ingrained in our players.

The ideal thing to happen tomorrow would be to get an early goal and force them in to Plan B. Their defensive display at Wastelands this season was appalling but they seemed more up for it at Old Trafford. If we can get them early and draw them out, you’d have faith in our strikers being able to finish the job.

I just hope our lads do themselves justice. We’re better than City and I want us to go out and show that. We’ve had two gruelling games against Chelsea in the past week and a half which could have potentially taken something out of us. But we have to trust in the manager to pick the best players for the job.

COME on United!

I wonder how many United fans will have blagged seats among the City fans.

Meanwhile I have read that Tevez is involved in something like half of all City goals, either as scorer or provider, so we can safely say they are toothless.

We could still lose, on paper those are still good players, but in practice we ought to do them over.

How are you my friend? Agreed with STR re our priorities………… Today gives us another chance to dent the spirits of the comical club that is shitty, its a mere distraction from more important things we are involved in, which as UNITED we are on a regular basis…

Today is about fun and comedy

  29. dela says:

    Morning Cedars
Haha, yes. Our real targets are the league and the Champions League. Tonight is just about having a laugh at Citeh and its tiny fanbase.

In Bahrain the cup games are being shown on Sony Pix, which I thought was a movie channel until a few months ago. Do you get the channel in Lebanon?

  30. willierednut says:

smartalex – Anythings possible mate. I was insane for a while, now I’m very much sane! It’s that kind of City.

  31. willierednut says:

Might as well do my team

  32. smartalex says:

“I think he (Mourinho) will end up managing Manchester United one day in the very distant future when Alex Ferguson calls time,” Harry said in The Sun.
“But every time I see Alex he looks younger. He is showing no signs of wear and tear. His enthusiasm is limitless. He wants to carry on – so Jose could have a very long wait.”

That’s the quote. No need for a link. Especially bad to send them traffic.

  33. CedarsDevil says:

A summary of my call in to a show where Alan Curbishley was a guest……

Cedars ‘ Do you not think its silly that two Manchester clubs have to play a semi in London?

Alan ‘ Well, the FA have spent so much money on building Wembley so they need to get some of the money back’

Cedars ‘ Money back? Making supporters travel all the way down south seems harsh’

    Silence……….

Cedars ‘ Alan, if you were on a panel selecting the signing of the season, who would you choose?’

Alan ‘ Ah, as a United fan you want me to say Hernandez’

Cedars ‘ Not at all, just wanted your opinion’

Alan ‘ Well we have to mention VDV, he has been exceptional’

Cedars ‘ VDV? What has he done worthy of a mention since December? And seriously would you not choose Hernandez?’

Alan ‘ United fans are known to be biased’

    WHAT THE FUCK?????

  34. wayne says:

thats the problem with city have all these stupid pictures, the tevez welcome to manchester, the monster mural, that thing above us.then idiotic names elite deveolpment squad or whatever the fuck its called, then pricks like garry cook constantly making an ass of himself by blowing citys ability out of all proportion.
all these things are grandiose delusions which makes city more pathetic than thet already are,on the other hand utd have walked the walk very rarely get into smack offs before big games and i don’t remember anyone in the club blowing their own trumpet.
although the biggest sports franchise in the world there’s a sense of humility about the way the team goes about business, staying grounded is probably the reason the team has so much success.
utds class just accentuates how 2nd rate and classless city really are.

  35. hammons says:

    great write up ….

The difference between the two clubs is that, as a team, Manchester United appreciate the history, stabilized the future but are just concerned with the present. City is just worried about all of the fruits the future will bring without any continuity.

  36. redrider says:

    Cedars
Haha… That cheered me up. Actually VdV has to be them Yids’ shining of the season. Nobody would’ve believed at the start that a dude with a ballooned ego who played to the Virus would actually take a step down to play for them. Chink!
And for the ‘pundits’, all they do is to hold on to that tiny bit of humour with which they entertain us albeit unknowingly.

He didn’t criticise the glazers at all. Thats just hammons opinion.

Come on hammons that comment was almost as bad as the British media pal ;-)

I just want to see this game over and done with. Unusually for me in recent times I have been giving it big to cit-eh fans pretty much acted like a schoolboy. You just get the feeling cit-eh are going to park the bus and hope for extra time and penalties. Our record at Wembley when it matters hasn’t been too kind, thinkig of chelski final and Everton semi.

  57. Zibbie says:

NRD a dig though in the sub context of things. If you got it use it is what I herd.

  58. jrdonl says:

Surprise me any city fan in india…let me count …….0, mmm oops it’s over…india is red not shit blue except in cricket…

  59. hammons says:

@notorious: Words are there for interpretation – especially when the Gaffer speaks. Dont think that I took it out of context. SAF made a comment about City’s spending being “great,” but yet his check book has been locked for years. Not saying he has done bad in the transfer market, but he has been interested in players and hasnt spent to land them. That was something that never stopped him before….

  60. NotoriousRedDevil says:

Maybe Zibbie, I personally didn’t see it that way and as many on here know I’m 100% anti-glazer. I’m guessing most reds have plans for the game already which is why they’re not here. I’m just going to pop round a mates and sulk because I don’t have a Wembley ticket whilst watching the game of course.

  61. Watch? Fucking Swear Watch? says:

I’m watching Blackpool vs Wigan to keep an eye on our Tom. Anyway, Wigan fans were chanting “Charles will tear you apart again’ after N’Zogbia’s goal vs Blackpool.

The sheer blatant lack of originality made me chuckle. Ahhh bless ‘em. Poor shitty Wigan fans.

  62. Twisted Fatboy says:

Afternoon fellow Reds, another Semi final, top of the League and in the semi final of the Champions league… it’s like I tell my Daughter, YOU ARE LUCKY TO BE BORN A SUPPORTER OF THE GREATEST TEAM IN THE WORLD!

Now lets send them back to Stockport and turn the ticker over.

  63. Zibbie says:

    come out and play Regulars

  64. Zibbie says:

NRD cool I always read what you have to say. Interpretation is in the mind of the reader, It maybe my deep desire to spend on who SAF wants not the budget is somewhat unrealistic with the fair-play coming in and the UK player limit making the UK top players price soar.
The blank check fantasy is a reality for the Sheiks.

  65. NotoriousRedDevil says:

@ hammons. Regarding spending he’s still spent money just not splashed out like he did in 07/08 and then again on Berbagod. United haven’t always spent huge sums of money on players season after season. We hardly spent anything for 2 years post treble. 97/98 we didn’t spend much either. Too many mercenaries out there to waste good money on.

This summer will be key. Its just that since we got £80 million for Ronaldo (still think we should have got £20 million more) everyone expects massive signings. If for example Torres was playing for us and having this goal drought the pressure he is under at chelski is nothing compared to the pressure he would have here. I do believe that is a major factor in some of the signings.

I do think we’ll sign a midfielder this summer and we’ll spend up to £25 million on him. We’ve already made more money than we did last year due to our cup runs.

  66. Scholes>>>Giggs says:

Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Kolarov, Lescott, Barry,Toure, De Jong, Johnson, Silva, Balotelli

VDS – O’Shea, Rio, Vida, Evra – Valencia, Carrick, Scholes, Park, Nani – Berbatov

    Waiting for further confirmation.

  69. willierednut says:

That’s the team I predicted, ye hey!

  70. MG says:

Today the dark side shall rise

    :)

  71. NotoriousRedDevil says:

@ Zibbie. Cheers pal nice to know that the words I type aren’t just sent into Cyberspace never to be read.

@ Costas. Can confirm Berbagod starting but thats about it. Very pleased with the line up. Solid back four and solid midfield. Come on Berba surely you can score in games other than the league!!!

  72. Zibbie says:

There can be anywhere from 5-10 first team player’s retiring, sold or let go. SAF has said he is in the market for 2-3 new players in the summer window out side all the young player he will sign like the young Welsh defender and all the South Americans through FC Twenty. Wow what a club and what a bright future with the Twins and Smalling showing so well, plus Cleverly, Wellbeck and Kiko as well as Ravel and the young guns will Progba claim some Carlin Cup time?????? and so on and on and on????????????????????????????????????????
With this approach they only have to splash that 20-35 million on one or 2 key players every 3 years to fill the gaps.

  73. utdforever says:

Anyone got a link for the match??

    Come on reds!

  74. NotoriousRedDevil says:

No Giggs on the bench according to the company I don’t pay my TV License to.

  75. Costas says:

    @Notorious

Well, Berba’s other goal this season has come at Wembley. :D

    @willie

Congrats. That’s quite a feat, lol. 9/11 for me. I had Ando and Smalling starting ahead of Park and Rio.

  76. StatesideAussie says:

Sadly, I am unable to see the game here. My cable provider will not show the channel that airs FA Cup games here. Only got to see the Liverpool game.

I would very much appreciate some match feedback. Thanks.

  80. NotoriousRedDevil says:

Anyone with news on whos on the bench for both teams. Only titbit I have is that theres no Giggs.

  81. StatesideAussie says:

Just checking teams news in The Guardian, not sure if this is right but they say we are playing in a Christmas-tree formation 4321 with The Berb up-front alone: Van der Sar, O’Shea, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Scholes, Carrick, Park, Valencia, Berbatov, Nani.

But then they say Shitty will be playing (get this) 7-2-1 hahahaha!
Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Lescott, Kolarov, De Jong, Barry, Yaya Toure, Silva, Adam Johnson, Balotelli.
    Well, we’ll soon know…

  82. Zibbie says:

Justin TV has helped me in the past see games on line.

  83. Costas says:

I was just looking back at our record at the new Wembley. it’s 2 wins, 5 draws and 1 loss. Goals: 8-6. I don’t see plenty of goals in this one, either.

In our 5 penalty shoot outs there, we’ve won 3 and lost 2.

  84. StatesideAussie says:

NRD … according to the guardian, our subs are:
Subs: Kuszczak, Owen, Anderson, Smalling, Hernandez, Fabio, Gibson.

And shitty’s are: Subs: Taylor, Boyata, Vieira, Milner, Wright-Phillips, Dzeko, Jo.

Not sure accurate that is. Right, I’m off … Cheers!

  85. MG says:

    Costas

May the force be with United

  86. NotoriousRedDevil says:

Cheers Stateside Aussie. I’m off round a mates. Hopefully celebrating a victory!

  87. dannysoya says:

City is playing a 4-5-1 formation. Johnson on the right, toure on the left, silva thru the middle, balotelli upfront alone and two holding midfielders in de jong and barry. We are also playing a 4-5-1. The berb on his own. Park carrick and scholesy thru the middle. the jackson brothers on the wings. The teams are really strong.
Kick off is soo close. COME ON BOYYSS!!! I KNOW WE CAN DO THIS!!!

  88. orez says:

    Who is on the bench?

I am kind of annoyed that West brom couldn’t make a better game today. The Cheskie cunts have too many easy games. It might actually be us who will have to finish them.

I am feeling confident today. Haven’t felt this way in a while. We might be tired but Shity are really under pressure. Hope for a good win.

  89. redrider says:

Giggs not in the squad? What? Fucking what? What?

  90. dannysoya says:

a bit of a surprise that Giggs is not in the team. Anyways we can still do the job. He played his heart out on wednesday and deserves a rest.

  91. Costas says:

Mankini is going for penalties then…We better not slip up and concede the 1st goal. They will park the bus, if that’s the case.

    @MG

The Dark Side is definitely on our side. Who needs the force. :P

We are all of us blessed that we are United

    This club will never die…

  97. Colbert says:

Mancini is such a negative coward. Three holding midfielders in a FA-cup semi final? Please.
Plus, Balotelli was pathetic against Liverpool. Strolling about and feeling sorry for himself because he hurt his back a little. I expect him to do sweet fuck all against Rio & Vida.

Like Scott said; we are better than them. Now let’s go out and show it!

All I can say anything less than a thrashing and I’ll be surprised

    Support is brilliant again

  115. CedarsDevil says:

    stone

    Simple really, fuck off

  116. MG says:

    Nani

    go on Nani

  117. MG says:

Nani was of course not listening to me :)

Evening Cedars you Devil you ;)

  118. smartalex says:

They ban Rooney for on-camera activity; and then show him in the dugout every 3 minutes.

  119. Alpha_RS says:

Park trying to put Hart off by jumping around infront of his everytime a corner comes in. Makin me laugh! Ha.

  120. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Here’s a question: Can players breathe through those things they wear for nose injuries? I think they obviously can but is it hindered because of those things. Because it seems to me that air intake is the single most important requirement for a football player.

    Just askin!

  121. spenlunc says:

Someone please provide me link for live streaming of this match

  122. MG says:

    smartalex

    I noticed that

Obsessed – Bernstein trying to find out why he’s on the bench – ;)

  123. nani4ever says:

Come on berb prove me wrong, today is your day u are the feature man, show the boss why he shouldn’t leave u out the team.

  125. Saad says:

    Cesc Fabregas on Twitter:

“Paul Scholes is so much class. Legend.”

At least one Gunner knows how to type sense into a tweet.

  126. MG says:

What amazes me is how the Spanish understand how good Paul Scholes is and how the English don’t get it

    :)

  127. Saad says:

ESPN says our possession is 64%. Is that true? If so, we really oughta be making our possession count making some serious shots on target.

  128. Zelh says:

why are we always asleep at corners from Citeh?!

  129. MG says:

Could you imagine if Paul Scholes frequently took his shirt off and screamed like an English lion and used words such as:

man up – I’m the man – you are not the man – these are my men –

    He would actually be loved

    :)

No substitute for kids and family I suppose ;)

  130. Saad says:

Berba has always played better with a dynamic partner to work off of up front (R. Keane @Spurs, Rooney @United).

Sooner or later, Owen or Hernandez will have to come and then you’ll see Berba’s magic.

  131. theboogeyman says:

Wow Berbatov miscontrols, never thought I’d see that!

  132. matt says:

    carrick is so sick

  133. Saad says:

The love of 80 million 3Lions is irrelevant compared to the love of 300 million Reds + Zidane!!!

  134. dannysoya says:

Sometimes nani pisses me off. sometimes you just need to get up and get on with it. we’ve done ok in the first half. we started well. then we began to sleep and gave city space. we gotta pick it up in the second half. COME ON UNITED!!! WE ARE GONNA WIN THIS!!!!!

  135. MG says:

Berba needs Hernandez or someone to work off him

    Seems playing within himself

I know he and the team can do this should have finished this damn game off – but after all it’s a cup one off

    Come on United!!!

  136. Zelh says:

besides the 2 big chances, this was piss poor.

  137. Saad says:

    @matt

Is that the metaphorical “sick” or is he playing badly today? I can’t see the game.

Nani, Park, Valencia – one of these three will have to be subbed to bring on Owen/Hernandez.

  138. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Good half for United. We completely dominated the possession and City were relegated to taking shots from a distance. However, we really need to be more decisive when we get near their box. Otherwise all this possession will count for nothing if City get one of their long-range shots to go in.

  139. Colbert says:

No good having Park playing behind Berba. Get Hernandez on, he & Berba have an excellent understanding at times. Berba is best with a partner.

  140. matt says:

    @ saad

i mean sick as in good.. really good

  141. Costas says:

*Sigh* Berb’s confidence is lower than a City fan’s IQ. I agree with everyone who’s said that he needs a partner next to him, but 3 months ago, he would have buried those chances anyway.

    Carrick outstanding again.

  142. Colbert says:

We were great and in total control for the first 30 minutes. Should have made something count. City were the better team for the last fifteen minutes of the half.

  143. orez says:

Not a good half IMO. Several players have been bad. Scholes and Berba should get their act together. They didn’t do much wrong but in a close game even two mistakes can make a difference. Evra was again bad. Very frustrating half.

  144. The truth says:

Some good and bad from the boys, but if there’s one thing I have become accustomed to is seeing Nani constantly fuck about, and then suddenly produce something special out of the bag. Carrick has been our best player. The game so far is kinda boring, therefore United need to step up and score that goal and we can build on from there.

  145. Costas says:

I heard on twitter that Townsend said “thank God Berbatov’s chance didn’t go in”. Really?

  146. Ash says:

We will win it.Cmonn get behind the team rather than criticizing it.WE ARE MANCHESTER UNITED.
    BELIEVE AND SUPPORT.

  147. Saad says:

    @matt

    Thanks.

I like that particular Michael Carrick. Wonder where he was in the fall and winter. Must’ve been hibernating!

  148. keano says:

we’re showing too much respect to these dickheads. Come on Reds. Get into their faces.. we can do it

  149. United4eva says:

    @MG

No Berba needs to convert his chances. Red shirts are flooding forward from midfield at every opportunity to carve out his first gilt edged chance Scholesy was on the edge of the box, Scholesy the so-called deep lying playmaker. Why does he need someone to work off today when he did fine against Fulham a week ago? He needs to stop bottling it. Simple. Great player but always prone to stage fright when it matters. I simply can’t figure him out. A player with his ability should be supremely self-confident…

  150. ryan7 says:

    @colbert

Agreed – Hernandez needing to be out there, but I would hate to lose 3 lung park. His work ethic is helpful too.

I know deep down that Hernandez would have put those chances away. We should be 1-0 up.

Not hating on Berba, just saying.

  151. CedarsDevil says:

Gareth Barry is a super star

  152. Colbert says:

    @Saad

Also, where was Carrick in 09/10?:) Great to (seemingly) have the Carrick of ’06-’09 back!

  153. Little Miss says:

Yup Townsend really said that! Silly little men make silly little comments!

  154. Saad says:

I hope Owen features in the game. He’s too good to be languishing on the bench. He’s promised us an important goal (or two, or three, or four…:)).

    “Tonight’s the night…”

  155. Colbert says:

    @ryan7

Yes, I want Park on the pitch too. He’s in great form. I think I actually would sub Scholes or Nani if Hernandez was to come on.

  156. CedarsDevil says:

    Costas

Not surprised mate, Andy is after all a dick head

  157. dannysoya says:

Carrick was superb. There was time when we were on the break and the ball fell to scholes and he couldn’t run quick enough and then he got dispossessed. that was when i knew scholes had lost his speed. but he has done OK as well in the first half but Carrick has been stunning. Berbatov looks weird. been long since i’ve seen him like this. he needs a partner. we all know who that is….. HERNANDEZ!!!

  158. Colbert says:

Who’s this Townsend fella? Another “unbiased” “journalist” ?

  159. Saad says:

    @Colbert

I think the contract extension really boosted him. It told him that Sir Alex believed in him and that gave him the motivation to sort out his problems on the field.

  160. fergie is the boss says:

Costas – I do think united are lacking the flued play that saw us dispatch chelsea, look at the lineup in midfield and attack, the movement of giggs nani park rooney dropping deep to let chico be the vocal point is a big miss today. I do hope fergie gets giggs and hernandez on so we can streth this very one paces shitty outfit.

  161. Zibbie says:

    @smartalex says:
They ban Rooney for on-camera activity; and then show him in the dugout every 3 minutes.
Slamming a Red Bull…… Now that is a perfect fit for a marketing due as Rooney is a good fit for a winning football team.

  162. Colbert says:

    @Saad

That’s a good point. I think there could be a lot in that. He’s been totally different ever since he got that new contract as you say. He’s not faffing about like he did for so long. Playing with real purpose at the moment.

  163. Saad says:

    @fergie is the boss

Sorry to shatter your hopes but Giggs is not on the bench tonight.

  164. edwin says:

    COME ON UNITED!!!!

  165. MG says:

    United4eva

I appreciate that but again he is an altogether different striker from the rest

He doesn’t have pace but he has the skill

His football is based on thinking and perception – nigh on the ridiculous at times

It’s true out of his two chances he should have buried the first one hands down – but we need to create more chances for him too – I won’t have him scapegoated for missed chances if he’s only had one.

I know it’s a fine line – not defending him – but after hitting the battering ram on them lot United should have killed city off full stop

I don’t think Berba suffers from stage fright – he is a very collected player – I think he needs a spark to work off from and that could be anybody – could be Scholes the way the pass came to him for his chance – just saying that United also have to do a lot more – ramp that pressure up

No one forget here Berba kept us going when Rooney stood still – just because we are at the end of the season and Rooney is back to his best doesn’t mean that Berba should be confined to second foil

If it wasn’t for him we also would not be here where we are – it’s a team game not a one player game

    The team should rise together

  166. dannysoya says:

@Costas. did townsend really say that? THAT BIASED FOOL.

  167. Saad says:

Rooney…guzzling down a Red Bell and looking at the camera and saying to Coca-Cola:

    “What? Fucking what? What?”

Time magazine’s Quote of the year -

  168. 90+Until We Score says:

Taking off park will takeaway a lot of Midfield energy, I wud prefer Ando over Owen/Hernandez. We have played pretty well tbh. Haven’t been able to get the goal, but still if I was in City’s dressing I would be worried more about United’s threat compared to theirs. Some guy here said Scholes lacks confidence, and he has stage fright. Dude go watch last years derby. I want this game to be over in 90. We still have lots of games coming up which have far major impacts. Need e1 in top condition. Park to come off definitely at some point in time. He has been bloody brilliant in the past 10 days and so has Carrick.

  169. Saad says:

No one will have to dis Berba. He’ll do that to himself tonight if he doesn’t help us win this game. After all, he owes us a Wembley redemption goal after his penalty kick against Everton.

  170. Zibbie says:

@Saad says: nice, I’ll call Red Bull and make the deal happen, have your people contact mine. And we will do lunch.

  171. Zibbie says:

    O fuck!

  172. FletchTHEMAN says:

    Crist, VDS and Carrick!

  173. MG says:

    Oh dear

That came from nowhere and a mistake

  174. Zelh says:

    so unconcentrated.
    deserved goal.
    we play like shit.

  175. theboogeyman says:

    FUCK!

  176. Red Crow says:

    Carrick damn it!!

  177. 90+Until We Score says:

    Errrrrrrrrrrr…..

  178. matt says:

    fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck

  179. Colbert says:

Why do you have to do that to us Michael when we’ve been praising you so?

    Get on Hernandez ASAP!!

  180. Saad says:

We must not get desperate chasing the equalizer. That might give Balotelli the freedom he needs to break free. Patience!

  181. EpoXy05 says:

lazy sloppy playing, what the fuck is going on.

  182. Zelh says:

can’t see us get anything in this game.
players look like they don’t even care about this game.
    such a disgrace.

  183. MG says:

We’ve lost our way here – need to regroup

  184. 90+Until We Score says:

    BELIEVE

  185. aimanunited says:

united are playing like they don’t want the fucking cup…
and worse is losing to the shitty!!!

  186. Zibbie says:

2 goals in 30 min COME ON UTD LET’S GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  187. das says:

    “i’ve got all i want …. in a sh*t player like carrick”

  188. Toms says:

Annoyed. I wouldn’t blame Carrick. It was sloppy play all around. WIerd game. I don’t feel scared for the result because we have been so obviously the better side. Still looks like a litle fluidity is missing just now as carrick lost osme confidence.

  189. kel says:

Carrick is a player of mixed reaction. I still cant forgive him for being so weak for the goal against Bayern in the 2nd leg where he makes us lose. This time its him.

I cant blame him but he has been the player always doing sort of things we cant understand. He lost concentration easily. I hope he pick up from now. It’s looking hard to win. Our midfield is the one which is weak. Forward no pace. Winger no supply.

  190. leetguy101 says:

WE CAN’T RESET THAT COUNTER, WE JUST CAN’T! DAMMIT CARRICK!

  191. Zibbie says:

    saf SHUFFLE THE CARDS!

  192. Joel says:

    Whats happened to our composure?

  193. Zelh says:

    nobody moving.
    nobody motivated.
not even a reaction from the team!

you can’t blame carrick for this.
the whole team is so sloppy.
fuck me we are giving the trophy to those fuckers.

  194. MG says:

I have to say we are making them look good here

Seriously United are letting themselves get battered

  195. Damu says:

come on boys believe we will score 2 goals, come united sucker punch these shits

  196. 90+Until We Score says:

Have lost our way, not the reaction I was expecting…..Still Believe

  197. Colbert says:

We’re badly missing Rooney, Giggs & Hernandez. All the rhythm and hard work from the Chelsea games is not present today. COME ON UNITED! We can’t lose to these fuckers!

  198. dannysoya says:

Just when i started praising carrick. He gives the ball away. GREAT.

  199. MG says:

    Andy Townsend

One up and another one and it puts us in a fantastic position

    us :)

  200. dannysoya says:

FUCKING WAKE UP!!!! WAKE UPPPPPPP!!!!! COME ONNNNN WAKE UPPPPP!!!!!!!

  201. Zibbie says:

How does it work for a tie? Extra time and pen’s or another game?

  202. aimanunited says:

the fuck!!! we can’t cope with shitty’s shit at the moment…
    do something alex!!!

  203. Colbert says:

We need to make some changes. Come on Fergie!

  204. Zibbie says:

Lil Pea!!!!! Free Kick the bar!

  205. leetguy101 says:

I miss two legged FA Cup semi-finals.

  206. Long John O'Shea says:

Bring on MO7 he said on Twitter he has an important goal in him!!

  207. leetguy101 says:

Oh wait, hang on, that was for when you drew…

In that case: I miss the Champions League.

  208. Saad says:

There’s a change in the wind. City are picking yellows. They sense a fightback from us. This is our chance. We can do it.

    Get stuck in, lads!

  209. dannysoya says:

NANI WILL YOU PASS THE FUCKING BALL ON TIME PLEASE!!!!

  210. Zibbie says:

The fucking commentators on Fox Soccer in the US are FUCKING ABU DONKEY CUNTZZZZ!

  211. Colbert says:

“Can Manchester United score? They always score!”

  212. Long John O'Shea says:

    BOLLOX!!!!

  213. aimanunited says:

do not fucking hand them the cup without fighting!!!
    we need Giggsy now please…

  214. Zelh says:

    yeah great
    thank you scholes.

  215. berbatunday says:

oh my is this paul scholes last FA cup?

  216. dannysoya says:

OH wow you send off scholes for a 50-50 ball? It could easily have been zabaleta on the giving end. The ball was there to be won. SMH. COME ON UNITED!!!

  217. RedScot says:

What a fucking disgrace, to send paul of for that. shocked

  218. Zibbie says:

RED MIST DESCENDS ON THE GINGER PRINCE……………………..

  219. Toms says:

Fuck Man Utd eh. Fuck the FA. Wtf is he supposed to do for a ball high up there? Eh. Bullshit. Fucking Bullshit.

To be fair I wouldn’t give half a damn if it wasn’t city. I hope we can give them a damn suckerpunch.

  220. aimanunited says:

    Scholesy you idiot!

  221. Deftones says:

    Referee bought by the Sheiks!!!!!!

  222. MG says:

Scholsey – should not have done…

We are having a bad day…

  223. Zelh says:

    fuck me.
we are handing the trophy to those fuckers.
    I just can’t believe this.

    this game is over.
    no way we fight back

  224. Colbert says:

Fucking stupid, Paul. Well, we’ve royally fucked up this one. Can only blame ourselves.

  225. 90+Until We Score says:

People who are fucking turds calling for giggs…he’s not playing dimwits and neither on bench…get behind the team…….Scholesy man…feel gutted

  226. kel says:

This game is hard to get back. What to believe when we had our player send off? Who should we look to?

For me only Nani and Hernadez can win us game.

  227. Long John O'Shea says:

    Bring on Owen!!

  228. united.george says:

does this mean scholes misses the next 3 games in the league?

  229. Zelh says:

If we play like this against Schalke we shouldn’t even make the way to Veltins Arena.

  230. kel says:

I cant stop thinking ITS CARRICK who makes us lose. Dont tell me he is good. We are so close to a final.

Next season? okok. I must stay calm. We are letting Man city win the trophy. Wooh

  231. Jimmy1978 says:

Two things: 1) Scholsey has been around a long time. What is he doing?
    2) Fergie got it wrong. Park is not a withdrawn striker. Why play him there!

  232. MG says:

If we lose the game then it was because of the way we gave away the first goal

Sad – but you can only beat whats in front of you and if you are giving it away then…

  233. Red Neville says:

I knew Shitty’s name was on the trophy when Berba missed from two feet out.

  234. Zelh says:

yeah of course it’s only carricks fault.
    What about Berba’s chances?
Not even one of them was in!
Paul Scholes with a fucking stupid tackle.

no one on the pitch out there wants to win this game.
    just a disgrace.

  235. dannysoya says:

we’ve played utter shite the whole game. HOWEVER. we can still get one goal.

  236. Colbert says:

    @zelh

Agreed. Blaming this on Carrick is just stupid.

    We can still do it.

  237. Saad says:

Guess there is a dark side in him. :S

    Sucks!

  238. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Good thing is that it is still only one goal and we are in United time ATM!

  239. leetguy101 says:

Well said, dannysoya, well said. One goal is easily stolen from somewhere, anywhere.

  240. MG says:

This is not United I’m watching

Fair enough can’t win them all – but this is not United…

Come on United where is your spirit…

  241. Colbert says:

It’s not over, but I can’t help but feel that that FA cunt got what he wanted by banning Rooney. We would be in the lead with Rooney in the team I think.

  242. dannysoya says:

Like leetguy has said. Oone goal can come from ANYWHERE. it could be ANYTHING. as long as city don’t score we still in this.

  243. KingOfStretfordEnd says:

I didn’t want the extra time or penalties earlier but now I do. Come on little pea, get the equalizer.

  244. Long John O'Shea says:

United out to 74-1 on Berfair… just put €20 on them…. easy money I think

  245. MG says:

Time gentlemen and ladies – time is running out for United…

  246. Balaji Sivaraman says:

I really hate how casual our passing has been this whole game.

IF we do end up getting knocked out, I hope Sir Alex and the players come out and apologize to the fans who have traveled to watch the match. This is not a performance one would expect in a F.A. cup semifinal from Manchester United.

  247. Joel says:

If we can nick a late goal, a big IF, City have taken off their best attacking players.

  248. Zibbie says:

    FUCK

  249. aimanunited says:

yeah it’s not carrick’s fault, united conceded right when i turn on the tv so it’s my damn fault…
    come on united!

  250. Colbert says:

Evra should have put that ball in low. FFS!!

  251. united says:

    I cant take this anymore..

  252. Long John O'Shea says:

    out to 199-1 on betfair

    €5 more on

    BELIEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  253. Colbert says:

This reminds me of the Barca loss. A gutless performance in a huge match. Should not happen.

  254. Zibbie says:

    5

  255. leetguy101 says:

If we score now, we will win the game. If we don’t bring it to extra time… then it’s The F.A. – 1, Manchester United -0.

  256. matt says:

i dont know how there is 5 mins stoppage

  257. Zelh says:

    no way we will score.

  258. Toms says:

Much too harsh criticisms I think just because we lost. The first half performance was quite good. Then we got casual. This is not hte liverpool loss by any means. Looks like more of a confidence issue here and there than anything else. I don’t feel terribly about our side though I wish we had seen fabio earlier.

  259. MG says:

What worries is more is that Scholsey might call it a day

Hope not – there will be no shame – after all we are not after a treble – we want the premiership but gutted that we threw it away

Gutted – our fault only ourselves to blame

  260. Zelh says:

how can we give the fucking ball so cheaply away?!

  261. dannysoya says:

Right now i am in disgust. It just feels like the end of the world.

  262. leetguy101 says:

    I’d take a European Double.

  263. berbatunday says:

where is ryan giggs…….FA cup semi final one man down on course for treble!

  264. MG says:

    Cue city about to erupt

    :)

Hey Costas city are about to live a future :)

  265. dannysoya says:

    GAME OVER!!!

  266. Zibbie says:

@ MG I sadly agree about Scholsey

  267. leetguy101 says:

    JKCBVJHKFBIU31 04983 G8C65IYCN24 859C479NR C

  268. aimanunited says:

i hope united will play better in the other semi final…

  269. Zelh says:

    fucking poor performance.
    where was our spirit?!
    this was not united!
if we play like this, we neither win the league nor the CL.

  270. Red Crow says:

    So many opportunities wasted…

  271. Joel says:

    Suicide.

  272. leetguy101 says:

    JKCBVJHKFBIU31 04983 G8C65IYCN24 859C479NR C

I don’t know how some people watch football, week in, week out. Thank God I don’t have cable.

  273. RedScot says:

Look at Balotteli, fucking shamefull cunt

  274. nani4ever says:

    berba fucking flop

  275. Little Miss says:

WTF has ben said to Rio?

  276. bchilds says:

Really disappointing, we had the chances to win that game. Berba and Carrick will not be sleeping easily tonight.

There will be one huge party in Stockport tonight I assume!

  277. Lovin' United says:

    Cue butters now…

    Think I’m a jinx.

Last game I’ve watched is the liverpool defeat.

And since then I have not been watching and we have been winning.

Now that I had free time to watch the game at midnight here and we end up losing to the bitters…

  278. kel says:

Yeah. Not our players fault. Berbatov cant score when it matters.

    Scholes cant tackle as always.

Carrick is good so he is not at fault.

Our player all are good. That’s good.

    Forget this game.

Shyt. I cant do any of those above!

  279. bchilds says:

Would be typical Citeh to fuck this up by losing the final! Oh how we’ll laugh!

  280. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@MG, Yeah, I am really gutted that after that in a match of this magnitude, I am guessing Scholesy will call it a day.

I am really surprised more than anything else by that performance. Knowing the importance of the match to the fans in terms of stopping City’s run to the trophy for 35 years and knowing that it is a semi-final and knowing that it is a derby, we put on one of the most heartless performances since the Liverpool game. I find that more surprising than anything else since that is the last thing I expected from us. I really do hope that Sir Alex apologizes to the traveling support for the performance.

Now is the time we console ourselves by saying that the League is more important and that the treble requires a lot of luck more than anything else. But I do feel sorry for all fans in Manchester. My heart really does go out to you folks in that you have to hear all the shit from the City fans until we win our 19th. I <3 you guys.

  281. jespermoses says:

THats fucking embarrassing!!! Its like theyve won the cup or something.Just shows the small mentality of that club……never seen celebrations like that before………hilrious

  282. jespermoses says:

THats fucking embarrassing!!! Its like theyve won the cup or something.Just shows the small mentality of that club……never seen celebrations like that before………hilarious

  283. Saad says:

This is going to sting for a very long time.

Even more than the 09 UCL Final.

  284. MG says:

    Oh dear

I’m not upset about losing I’m upset about throwing it away

But sit back and enjoy the apparent demise

Again we never talked about trebles – we just said premiership and anything else will be a bonus

Credit where it’s due – they had to beat us to get to a final – they did that aptly assisted by us of course.

Again no shame – we should have killed them off – we didn’t – we made a mistake the rest is history.

No one deserves to be scapegoated – we didn’t do enough – only ourselves to blame

  285. Lovin' United says:

Scholes have been saying a lot these past few days…

  286. Rooney22United says:

Man city = no class. Berba dreadful day, Carrick.. well, just Carrick… Scholes challenge should be a yellow card. felt like United never had the desire to win… Rooney would have won the game..

  287. Colbert says:

Plenty of blame to go around for this one, Rooney & Fergie for getting themselves banned, FA for banning Rooney without any precedent, Berba for missing two glorious chances, Carrick for giving the ball away when City scored etc – but in the end none of that matters because we just weren’t good enough today. We practically gave City the trophy they crave. And it’s so so disappointing. Turns out we’re not that great without Rooney & Giggs. I just pray that this is a wake up call for the players so that we get to THAT final and wrap up the premier league. It’s just the FA-cup, but this was the one FA-cup match we didn’t want to lose. We just didn’t play today after the first half hour. Not the United way surrendering like this. Thanks for ruining my weekend, guys.

  288. Deftones says:

    Balotelli is a fucking asshole!!!!!

  289. 90+Until We Score says:

Fucked up….defeated Pool Arsenal to lose to City…….May 14th…….I don’t think we were as bad as we have been made here……2nd half we got an hangover for some time and got fucked………Still BELIEVE…..Glory Glory Man United

  290. ahjs says:

More evidence of why Berbatov shouldn’t play the big games. Out of his depth.

  291. Joel says:

Fucking commentators and pundits. Fucking ABU cunts. We shall see who has the last laugh

  292. Lovin' United says:

Thing is… Bitters might get their trophy this season because of us…

  293. Doghouse says:

That bitter cunt at the FA got his wish at least.

  294. Zelh says:

no heart from the players in such a game.
If they are not motivated to play in a semifinal against the bitters to extend their title drought they should look for a different club.

    fucking disgrace.

  295. Costas says:

Shit performance. No use crying over spilt milk. We win as a team, we lose as one.

Hopefully our players will make it up on Tuesday.

  296. Drogahnus says:

Berbaflop indeed. Too slow, not creative, not putting in the work. Should have started Owen and Chica, 4-4-2.

  297. jespermoses says:

awful performance…Carrick was woeful second half and some of his passing was a joke.No penetration and we missed Rooney so much….just really really slack today.

Also City are a joke, they are doing a lap of honour….OMG!..LOL

  298. Vishal S says:

    @MG
    Rightly said.

  299. chaosred says:

To all those who think that carrick was worth his contract you can all fuck right off. 1 game all season in semi final against chelsea he has done it again, after last year against bayern munich. all those carrick bashers carry iit on pls!!

  300. Lovin' United says:

IMHO, Ferdinand was to blame, he had no pressure and could have let the ball gone out for a goal kick.

But instead he passed it to VDS which he did not expect…

  301. United1990 says:

Most of the blame goes on Carrick for the stupid goal. The rest of it goes on Scholes for that childish tackle. I just don’t understand what goes in his mind when we’re 1-0 down and he tackles like that

  302. dannysoya says:

Look i’ll probably get slated for saying this but with the way we played today. Manchester City deserved that win. There’s nothing more to say. the FA have gotten their wish. Nice work FA. Absolutely gutted. Looking forward to the el classico.

  303. MG says:

Balaji Sir Alex needs to apologise to no one

We lost a match and can only blame ourselves for what we did – to rephrase the team should apologise to Sir Alex for letting him down

Come on the world isn’t over – when Rooney got banned we were already handicapped – but I didn’t see them beating us still – I am more disgusted with the way we gave up – that’s not SAF fault – that’s the teams fault and subsequently it’s up to the team to finish this season off

  304. leetguy101 says:

    What the fuck.

Autopsy now. Fergie to read the Riot Act. Come on, losing to filth in a cup draw? For a place in a final?

Bloody hell, what the fuck happened…?

  305. Mickjk says:

Gutless heartless performance. Let them just push us about. Poor.

  306. Aki says:

    Ugh… I feel horrible now…

  307. DEVILisRED says:

not our day. when u miss 2 sitters in the first half, u can’t blame anyone for going on to lose the game. sloppy sloppy defensive pass from rio to vds to carrick which lead to bitter’s goal. probably over-confident i guess. this is feeling really shitty now.

  308. Costas says:

    @Lovin’ United

Probably mate, but it was going to happen at some point. It doesn’t matter who they went through. all that matters is the 19th title.

  309. Joel says:

I don’t blame Carrick. But I fear for his confidence, right when he was starting to recapture some of his past form. If anything I’m fuming more at Scholes’ stupid and utterly needless tackle. Fucking gutted.

  310. Red Neville says:

Did you hear Townsend at the end of the first half? “fortunately Berbatov missed that chance”.

I’ll quote myself from earlier “I knew Shitty’s name was on the trophy when Berba missed from two feet out.”

  311. Ferane-Mauritius says:

what is hurting is that we will be the sole responsible for giving city their first title in 34years. Scholes stupidity, berba flops and carick bad passes cost us a lot. We have not been able to keep our pride.

  312. nani4ever says:

once again when we need a striker, berba fucking flop was MIA, just like last year in the champions, this was is big day and he shit his pants

  313. Twisted Fatboy says:

Three trips to Wembley would have been a bit daft anyway.

Not as daft as over celebrating a Semi final though. . .

  314. Passe says:

They were there for the taking in the first 30 mins. One sitter converted and they would have crumbled under the pressure. Their only chance was a terrible mistake by us and they didn’t create much untill we got Scholes sent off. I’m just amazed how we only played one striker up front. the FA have now accomplished 50 % of their mission this season, because with Rooney we would have won that game. Let’s see what they have in store for us in the coming weeks..

  315. United1990 says:

Moving on, we have two competitions ahead and we must win!

    BELIEVE

  316. veek says:

wow one bad game and the berbabashers are back.

anyone have any idea what rio was screaming at balotelli for?

  317. Saad says:

    @everyone

If our reason for wanting to win this game was to prevent City from winning a trophy, then I think that’s lame and unclassy.

We should’ve played to win the trophy for ourselves. It’s been ages since we won this trophy and we would’ve had a great chance of doing so against Bolton/Stoke.

I blame Scholesy for this loss. His single act deprived United of any real chance of making an attempt to win the game in the final 15 minutes when we usually see the best of United. City have one of the best defensive records in the league and to try and score against them with 10 men is even more difficult.

Now it remains to be seen as to how we respond.

  318. dela says:

I don’t give a fuck about the FA Cup. I don’t give a fuck about Citeh and the ‘power shift’ in Manchester as Citeh are nowhere near United and won’t be for some time to come.

What I can’t come to terms with is a United side that goes down as easily as that.. I think we all got carried away by the treble talk and the ease with which we outplayed Chelsea. The old problems still remain and this United side isn’t the all-conquering machine we thought it was. Berba should have scored a couple, Carrick’s pass was a howler, but all that aside, a goal with just a couple of minutes to play, there was no urgency from anyone on the pitch. Fucking disgraceful.

This wasn’t United I was watching.

Whew. Needed to get that off my chest.

  319. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@MG, I agree, nobody to scapegoat and no need to start taking this performance as the benchmark for our future league and Champions League performances. This is again one of those gutless performances that happens quite a few times in a season. That it happened in a F.A. Cup semi-final against City is really bad but it happens.

I find it funny that people would say stuff like, “If this is how we play, we don’t have a chance in the League and the CL.” If we put in performances like this everyday, we wouldn’t be where we are now.

Although I hate to bring this up, but we did miss Rooney. As I’ve said before that man is our Keane at the moment. In that, if things are not going our way as it was today, he can drive the entire team forward in a way few current United players can. Not saying we would’ve won the game had he played, but still…

  320. shakshamboo says:

poor performance from our players. no one performed. they looked like they were tired. why did we start with one upfront. are we afraid of city. we should have played 2 upfront. we thought carrick had got his form back but he blasted that bubble today. carrick’s performances are so patchy. specially in the big games. i m so angry.

  321. fergie is the boss says:

    2 things we have learned

1 united play 2 upfront we will run rings around them, they are to scared to attack us

2 berbs will or never will be a striker who leads the line, he looked has lost has he was last season when he had to fill in for rooney against chelsea.

Fergie got the team dead wrong, he should have started with chico and berbs and ripped into this fragile shitty side

  322. moneesh says:

    F**K!!!!!

  323. bchilds says:

    @Saad

No way pal, how could you think losing this semi will hurt us more than 2009 Champions League final? Citeh’ll fuck up the final, you wait and see!

  324. Costas says:

    @dannysoya

Nothing wrong with what you said. I know it hurts, but realistically, we can’t win them all. These players can still help us write history. They played bad, but they need us now more than ever.

As for City, IF they win the final, that’s one trophy in 35 years. One less than what Djemba Djemba had with United in one season…

    @MG

Well said mate. Voice of reason among a tsunami of overreacting.

  325. Rewind123 says:

I dont feel bad that we lost really especially because our team selection was strange to say the least. Fergie’s sentimentality (is that even a word? it should be!) meant he played Park and Berbatov, instead of Chicharito and Anderson. The worse feeling is allowing City a chance to win a trophy, when they are not even good enough to lace our teams boots…

Anyway, I hope Fergie does’nt allow sentiment to deviate from choosing our best team against Barca/Real in the final at Wembley otherwise we will be in trouble. It does trouble me when Sir Fergie is so ruthless with his team selections in the league, but allows sentiment to get in the way when choosing teams in the latter part of tournaments.

  326. keano99 says:

Fergie’s fault lads berba can’t play up front on his own it was like the end of last season all over again its a simi final we have been playing great with 2 up front and we don’t have a goal scoring midfielder to play behind berba I’d rather get done 4 nil than go out with a wimper like we did today. I just hope berba wasn’t picked today out of some sort of loyalty? Because that’s another big game away from home he has let us down in and the second fa cup semi final

  327. ahjs says:

“Most of the blame goes on Carrick for the stupid goal. The rest of it goes on Scholes for that childish tackle. I just don’t understand what goes in his mind when we’re 1-0 down and he tackles like that”

Manager sends the team out so he’s to blame as well – playing Park where he did was mind boggling. Park was the worst player on the pitch for me. He put in the effort but was lost.

Plus Berbatov. Two sitters, but it was a big match. He should not have played. He’s in his 30′s and hardly ever proved himself in a game of this magnitude. His last Cup match at Wembley, anyone?

  328. slim says:

Gutted, truly gutted. watching us give this to city was like swallowing a slimy frog. No heart from the players, maybe tired form league and champions league exertions but not good enough. Sitting here shaking my head, gutted at this .

  329. orez says:

Carrick and Scholes cost us a game. I am furious so I am going to let it out. Because of one fucking mistake the whole teams work was wasted. If I believed that we actually have money and we can afford to buy two central midfielders, then I would say Scholes to retire in the end of the season and Carrick to be sold (not even bench for him). Both of them are not good enough anymore to dish it out with average PL midfielders. They have been outplayed by almost every team away from home and their attacking contribution has been pathetic. We have been tolerating their mediocrity for just too long and after being shit the whole season they cost us in such an important game.

It’s such a bad feeling when you the team looses in this way. it’s like the whole year we had our doubts about our midfield and then they put in couple of decent performances, we all started to hope that they might not be as bad as we thought. We were wrong. Today they were out of pace out of clue and without any imagination. We could still have a chance but they went and fucked it up.

  330. Costas says:

    @veek

Berbabashers were waiting in the wings for this. For a whole damn year. Sad.

  331. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@MG, Sorry if I pissed you off mate. I was only saying SAF should apologize because he is the one who does the interviews. If the players did the press conference and the interviews, then they should rightly apologize. Let me put it this way: SAF should apologize on behalf of the players :D

  332. shakshamboo says:

    Balaji Sivaraman says:
“This is again one of those gutless performances that happens quite a few times in a season. That it happened in a F.A. Cup semi-final against City is really bad but it happens.”

performances like these are becoming a more common trend since the last 2 years. and that is a worrying sign.

  333. Saad says:

    @bchilds

    Only because it’s against City.

I should’ve been more clear. I meant that this sting will LAST LONGER. Barca are a great team with great players. It is no shame to lose to such a team. City are crap. And they won from a mistake. They didnt beat us with any piece of brilliance from their multi-million dollar talent. Plus, City are shameless. They’ll keep talking about this for a long time.

  334. Alpha_RS says:

A fair few reasons that led up to the United loss today.
Citeh won fair and square. Not gonna take anything away from them.

    1. SAF being given a 5 game touchline ban.
    2. Rooney being given a 2 game ban for swearing down the camera lens.
    3. Berbatov missing some very good chances early in the game.
    4. Van Der Sar dodge clearance leading up to the goal.
    5. Carrick with a square ball pinched by Toure to score.
    6. Scholes planting his foot in Zabaleta’s leg. Yes that was a red card. We’d be fuming if that was against one of us.
    7. The midfield being bullied and overun.

Also I might come in for some criticism here but that is know way for United players to act at full time. They are representing United and in the end that is not the United way. Looked like sore losers when they did that. Yes Balotelli is many things but should have been gracious in defeat today.

  335. Dre.FU= Forever United says:

The Fa got what they wanted in the end init. We weren’t beaten by city we were beaten by that fucking cunt bernstein, Not being bitter but we were much better, I’m pissed off that we were so fucking casual, Berba should have scored, our characters amazing man down 10 mins to go no rooney and we went for it, so unlucky not to score but not in the slightest worried about this game, Fa got what they wanted an we got robbed. Again not being bitter but it Truly is United against the Fa I’m convinced now.

Were Too good to fuck up in league an champions league, an I’m looking foward to the rest of our journey.

    COME ON UNITED!!!!!

  336. fergie is the boss says:

Balaji Sivaraman – I hope fergie splashes the cash for schneider, who could do the giggs role in the entre where he can drift inwards and link up play. I think we missed hernandes and giggs not just rooney. Look at uniteds midfield and front 2

    park carrick giggs nani
    rooney chico

You look at that 4 and 2 and there is more potency and fluency, the last time we had this much movement when when we beat chelsea at OT was the 2005/06 season, when our midfield 4 and front 2 were

    ronaldo oshea giggs park
    rooney saha

    see the resemblence

  337. The truth says:

Disappointing, but im pretty sure no one is more disappointed than the lads that played. You win, some you lose some. Hate losing to City, but they obviously wanted it more than we did. Lets not go critisizing the team now, but I’ve got one thing to say. Yes, Park might not be the most talented player, but he played his heart out today. Was really pleased to see him tracking back, and what-not in the dying, a shame the others seemed to be wallowing in self pity and disappointment. Hernandez, our golden boy wasn’t provided with a clear cut chance.

Two players who I was disappointed with are Nani and Scholes. That stupid challenge wasnt needed, especially at that time. I love the guy, but sometimes, you have to wonder whats going through his mind. I do hope he doesnt retire. :(

Oh well, we will be back.

What annoyed me the most was Carrick looking like a dead man towards the end. EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES, I do hope he doesnt beat himself over this. He was amazing today- until that.

  338. Dela says:

I don’t blame Berbatov at all, because there was over an hour left for United to get themselves into a position like that again. I don’t blame Carrick either, can’t complain about it, Toure took the gamble on where he’d pass it and ran ahead to score.

What I will say is we only really controlled a small portion of the game. It’s one of the dullest games I have seen in a long time. United were just dead on arrival today.

I rarely criticize Fergie, but Berba on his own? When does that ever work? I’m not hating on Berba, but it’s just true, we should have played Hernandez and Berba from the start.

  339. Costas says:

    @ahjs

Berbatov played at Wembley against Villa in the League cup final where he helped set up Owen’s equalizer. And he played well for Spurs against Chelsea in that league cup final at Wembley. I will agree with FITB that he shouldn’t have played as the lone striker.

  340. carloc1978 says:

its such a gutter least when we win we do it with grace city are scum. we looked tired today and missed rooney big style fa fucked us up there. we need to get it sorted and take it out on newcastle tue night because that league title is the most important thing this season! city think they have already won the fa cup lets hope they blow in the final! come on united!

  341. techmanc says:

we shoudlnt over react! lost to city but we have had problems at the FA cup before with other teams at the semis! :|

Need to focus on the league now! The team seemed dead and tired after first 30 mins… Need more energy up front.. We missed rooney! :|

  342. Ash says:

We didnt play well and thats why we lost.Remember we have not lost to city of early 200′s but to the city of 2011.They are not better than us by any mean sbut they are not a small club.
I hope scholes retires.I lover scholes. He is a legend but he is not the same scholes.
BELIEVE guys we will win #19.

  343. 90+Until We Score says:

I don’t know what will happen to City on 14th May, but sure as fuck know we are going to win the 19th…..it’s a repeat when we won the European title to eclipse their Division one….Add a Champions League and who knows…..Only God knows what the future is…….the blues are going to be in seventh heaven…enjoy it while you can….sooner or later it will again be GLORY GLORY United

  344. KingOfStretfordEnd says:

I don’t think we should question the desire of the players. It was a defensive catastrophe. Until then we were playing well. Treble down to the double. Let’s get a good rest and get ready for Newcastle. It was rash by Scholes, it shouldn’t have been a red but then again Scholes shouldn’t have taken the chance in a big game. Never settled after the goal, and I vehemently disagree on questioning our lads desire. These things happen, you can’t explain it can you? Like the 4-1 home defeat against liverpool. Its a derby, which makes it all the more unpredictable. I didn’t comment here over the weekend but read some posts on how we were going to coast to the finals. We talked too much, form goes out of the window in a derby. And come on it’s a semi-final derby. As the flurry of comments continue I expect it’s Berba to the slaughter again. I don’t blame him to be honest, he plays the best with a partner, and I think Chicharito should have started up front with him. This is going to be sour, but we have a game midweek, and let’s get it out of our system asap. The FA cup remains elusive as it is then.

Look at how the celebrate. We definitely wouldn’t have done that had we won. But oh well, they’re one step closer to smelling a trophy, which they won’t win. They’ll lose to stoke/Bolton with balotelli scoring an own goal. I wished Rio had punched him for whatever that idiot said, thumping his chest like he loved that club so much, hilarious. But then again, had Rio done that, he would get a 5 match ban.

  345. nayadu91 says:

Absolutely gutted. This is horrible. Never did turn up, did we? What a shame! I’d say United deserved to lose if it was anyone except Citeh. This is horrible.

Hopefully this is a good, firm kick up our backsides. Fergie’s going to turn the hair-dryer on on full power.

Let’s get the 19th lads. And hope Stoke win it.

  346. Saad says:

    @Alpha_RS

I didnt see the game so i dont know what the United players did at full-time. Could you elaborate please?

  347. keano says:

UNDONE BY OUR FUCKING WEAK MIDFIELD YET AGAIN. Carrick mistake . scholes sent off.

  348. leetguy101 says:

Alright. We obviously need some steel in midfield. We need Hargreaves in top shape… which isn’t going to ever happen, apparently. I know the British press bigs up Rodwell, but could he walk into the United midfield? I honestly haven’t seen him play.

And, we could use some creativity in the centre too. I would love to see Yoann Gourcuff in red.

  349. Mickjk says:

I’m beginning to fucking hate wembley.

  350. Doghouse says:

End of the day, fuck it. This is the highlight of City’s decade, to us, it’s a hiccup. So we don’t win a treble this year. This pleases the ABU media. But eyes on the prize people, title nineteen awaits. We win that and City can have the FA Cup.

  351. Joel says:

City had two shots on target. One was the goal and the other was a 30 yard strike. We really fucking gifted them the win. The FA have got their wish.

  352. Chicharitoooo says:

just wanna sum it up in my view,

    1. Sir Alex got the formation wrong this time round. Berba can’t play on his own. Hernandez should have started.

    2. Scholes really shouldn’t have tackled like that. Definite red card for me. Made the game that much harder.

    3. Carrick played well until THAT mistake. After that, his passes all went astray.

    4. Nani, Park and Tony did not have the best game. Not much dribbling past the defenders. Tired after the CL game perhaps?

    5. Could any one tell me what did Balotelli do to irritate Rio that bad until he looked like bashing that clown up?

anyways, WE WILL NEVER DIE … I’ll drink to a Bolton/Stoke win in the final … cheers

  353. bchilds says:

    @Saad

They won’t when they lose to Bolton or Stoke in the final!

    Small club, small mentality.

  354. dannysoya says:

Today Paul Scholes showed why he has to retire at the end of the season. You’ve been a servant now you are free to go. For Dimitar Berbatov. He just let me down with all the praise i’ve given him this season. I really thought today was the day Berbatov etched his name forever in United Folklore. Oh well we’ve lost another chance at a treble but life goes on. Two more trophies to go. Surely we can’t blow both of them. Especially the league title. Now is the time to wake up from the slumber some of the boys were in today. Absolutely NO MORE room for slip ups of ANY kind ANYWHERE.

  355. orez says:

Also I got to agree with people bashing Berba. I mean he has been great the whole season and top scorer, but man this guy is a real bottler in big games. When you compare him to cunts like Drogba and Torres (of Liverpool) it’s just painful. He really needs some bottle and I am afraid he is too old to get it. Very disappointing. This was the final as far as I am concerned.

  356. Saad says:

Mistakes happen. If we could’ve forgiven VDS for his blunder against WBA then we certainly can forgive Carrick’s mistake especially since it happened early in the 2nd half, giving us plenty of time to get the equalizer. But the chances of getting that was dashed by Scholesy.

Scholesy’s inability to temper his tackling has now actually cost United a big game against a hated rival. This game will be referenced whenever someone talks about this flaw in his game.

  357. 90+Until We Score says:

Games like this are not becoming trends…..we are use to so much success that any defeat esp. to City esque gets blown out of proportion……vent…release your anger..but get behind the team….you hate berba, carrick…but get behind coz they are part of United whether you like it or not……saying anything against Scholesy pisses me off…..

CONDITION: In good condition, though slightly soiled by controversial FA ban that could decide it’s destination.

  359. slim says:

Sorry guys its not over reacting to be pissed in a one off cup game against our local rivals where we showed no heart. Winning this game was 2 fold for me, winning the cup and making sure those fuckers wait another year for a trophy. Now what we have is ballotelli yanking his shirt and all that shit my face, i’m human and i aint gonna lie that shit hurt

  360. Johnboy says:

Don’t care bout the famous cup anyway…

  361. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@Doghouse, LOL! I agree with you on that. I am not saying anything about the 19th or the CL because I don’t want to jinx like I did with the treble.

As I said, this is a very bad loss and I really do feel sorry for all the fans in Manchester. They’ll have to hear everything from the City fans over one F.A. cup win. The future is theirs. Jesus is coming to City. They have the keys to Manchester and so on. Start looking over your shoulders. You get the drift.

At the end of it all, they were, are and never will be as big a club as Manchester United period.

  362. McQueen says:

Fuck the Berba bashers you haven’t made a WHIMPER all season and now you’re back, well fuck you.

Berba should’ve been played up top with Hernandez and basically taken over Rooney’s role, plenty of great players have missed sitters it’s part of the game. And don’t blame Carrick either, there is no need for such venom directed at individual players.

Scholes challenge was yellow I thought, both went in high with studs, he was just beaten to the ball by a fraction.

I hope Bolton beat Stoke and I will be a Bolton fan for the day come the final. Hell I will be cheering on Stoke too if it works out that way. Fuck the FA.

  363. MG says:

    Again

We hammered them first half with the same team – I would have liked Anderson in that midfield – I thought he was energetic

I also do agree that we should have gone two strikers and that Owen could have started with Berba

But that’s it – at the end we lost – it happens – we lost against chelsea and liverpool and it was chaotic then! We’ve done well – we’ve got this far – we need to carry on – a shift in power doesn’t take place beating Manchester United in the FA cup semi final – if there is about to be a shift in power – city will have to win the league – that’s the holy grail – they still haven’t won the FA cup – and if they do all it is is that our banner comes down – will probably be replaced with one not winning the league anyway ;)

This semi final did remind of me pf the Barca CL final – damn we turned up and gave it away and never bothered after that – we only have ourselves to blame – it is not SAF fault – we were good enough in the first half and then decided to pass the game to them and that was the end of that

No one here talked about trebles – we are not hypocrites – it would have been brilliant to repeat it – alas stupid errors have put paid to that – now we must rectify this situation and win the league – and at least get to the CL final

We have a lot to do – they too also have to win the FA cup and get into the CL – they have done nothing either – things will even themselves out one way or the other

When Everton beat United in the cup – there was no shift in power

Neither was it when Portsmouth won – neither was it when Chelsea won

So it is what it is – shifts of power are on a magnitude far more notable that cup wins

We have to win the league thats what we started out with – and thats how I would gladly have it

of course if we somehow do the CL then I hope we deserved it unlike today which we didn’t

Honesty gets you a long way to calm oneself down and see the bigger picture

  364. Justin10RvN says:

Berba didnt play bad because it was a big game, (has everyone forgotten the ‘pool hattrick already??) he played bad because he up front by himself

  365. dannysoya says:

Yeah right now i think it’s best for all of us to just shut up about the lge or the champions league. I don’t wanna jinx it anymore. Just act like they weren’t there. LOL.

  366. James7t7 says:

Too much gloating before the game only helped their team talk. Seemed like too many players thought that this game was a gimmie, expected to just turn up. No excuses for todays performance.

We must use this as a wake up call and finish the season strong.

We’ll keep the red flag flying high…. Utd will never die!!!!

In Fergie we trust – B.E.L.I.E.V.E

  367. Chicharitoooo says:

just gotta say that don’t bash the players up … it’s a derby semi-finals … those Citeh cunts ran their luck and we’ll be back for sure.

as for Scholes, it’s up to him to decide whether to retire or not… not us fans.

  368. Kevin says:

We didn’t play well but we had our chances. We got in some chances and considering the squad fielded they did well but clearly were tired. One bad piece of play in a routine situation and we feel behind. I agree we should have started with Hernandez and allowed Berba to drop in the space he creates with his runs. Look how much better we played with him on with ten men.

  369. Gyan Riggs says:

After all this talk from the players how United have better team spirit and more winner instinct then City,
it was the most disappointing performance in a long time.

Our midfield did not show up at all, I think Fergie should have subbed off scholes after 1st half he looked very tired and out of shape. But then again, so did most of the players.

Bah, just gutted by the way this went down.

  370. Dela says:

Berbahate is back? Why? Because he was ineffective playing up against 4 defenders when he usually plays with a strike partner…

Hey, to anyone who wants to hate on Berba, or Carrick, or Scholes instead of accepting a team defeat… I have one thing to say to you… “CUNT!”

  371. Saad says:

I wonder why SAF didn’t start with Anderson and maybe even Gibson in the midfield. I know Park is energetic but cmon! Two high pressure matches in the space of 5 days…that’s tough for anyone.

  372. The truth says:

I do agree, our midfield is weak, but banging on about that EVERY TIME the team loses is not helping at all. Its not some kinda new discovery, and in fact pretty much most united fans would agree on that- so no more emphasis needs to be put there.

After the final whistle, about a billion negative thoughts went through my brain. So many mistakes, that could easily be pointed out. But whats the point? We all know our team is more than capable of beating City. And even more capable of scoring after conceding. But it didnt happen. So lets put it behind us, because enough bashing would come through the media who are loving this.

Get rid of the doubts, and the negativeness, and remember this is no where near the end of our season. Its just the beginning of whats bound to be an exciting one.

Get behind the lads, and support the team, because if we dont- who would, especially since the ABUs are still fucking biased.

  373. carBANGrick says:

Hahahaha trust carrick to fuck it up with his square pass to set it up for toure. I thought he was proving me wrong with a resurgent in class but i guess it’s just tempory form. It’s instances like this that u are never sure of our midfield, he did it a couple times in the season but didn’t result in a goal. I never thought that we gonna make double treble but at least we can focus on the league and CL now.

  374. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@MG, I agree that shift in power is going to happen only when they win the 38-game league. But that is not going to stop their fans or the ABU media talking about it either. That is what I know I am going to end up hating for the forthcoming weeks.

The sooner we end up getting the League wrapped up, the better. Since that is the perfect way to shut them up.

  375. McQueen says:

all you cunts dissing scholes can fuck off, he’s been doing that his whole career in case you hadn’t noticed and it wasn’t a fucking red anyway. some of you make me sick with your fucking negativity.

  376. leetguy101 says:

Berbatov is class and he rips small clubs apart.

But, his ability to bottle it rivals that of Foster or Gomes.

… which is kinda why he doesn’t start big games. No option here, we were forced to either start our semi-white elephant of a £30m striker, or start a kid. Wonderkid, sure, but still, a kid. Really, I would think that so much pressure would make a player collapse. Like Rafael against Bayern, return leg, last season.

Or whatever that defender’s name at l’Arse, when we played at the Emirates in 2009, Champions League semi-final, and he just slips and falls…

In any case, we need steel in the backline, and more arrogant drama queens. More personalities who can walk the walk *while* they talk the talk. More galacticos. We’re desperately short of great individual players.

  377. Saad says:

I think Owen should have started with Berba with Scholes and Anderson in the midfield. All four would’ve been super-fresh.

  378. Alpha_RS says:

    @Saad
Balottelli must have had some sort of altercation with Anderson at full time. Ferdinand saw this and started confronting Balotelli. Hand bags were out and United just looked like very sore losers. We all know Balotelli can be a wind up merchant but that’s all part of the game. He definately was not gracious in the win but United certainly did not look gracious in defeat. Very dissappointed.
United have been beaten before in the FA Cup. I mean we haven’t won it for like 7 odd years but this was one of those poor performances similar to the Leeds United game a few years ago. Just all a bit gutless to be honest with you but no one reason for the loss as I mentioned before.
United do need some dynamism and creativfity in midfield. Park had a poor game and so did Carrick after the mistake he made but so what? They aren’t rubbish players. Look at their perfomances against Chelsea earlier in the week.
A positive from the game was that Anderson played well when he came on to the pitch. Was willing to pick up the ball and run at the Citeh midfield.

  379. Dandivine7 says:

Hey People, Scholes red card was deserved, lets not say it was a yellow. If a city player did it The verdict will be red. Lets Move On!

  380. slim says:

Like a scab you can’t help but peel, i’m starting to think why SAF didn’t start Owen and Berbs, surely we see now that berbs doesn’t play the lone striker well, even when flanked by tony v and nani. when owen said he’d score i thought the boss had told him he was a definite starter or planned to use him as an impact sub. I’m just gutted, the worst thing is the lack of heart on the pitch today

  381. willierednut says:

We got what we deserved, nothing! In the end, Rooney missing for us, was the biggest factor. In the end, the FA got what they wanted. No need to be bitter about it though, City wanted it more than us. That is the biggest let down. We have to regroup for Newcastle. Big game for us, as the lead will be down to 4 points, come Tuesday. Maybe the Chelsea games took a lot out of us. We lacked energy second half. In all honesty, I never thought we were gonna score. Not too down hearted, we can still win two trophies.

  382. fergie is the boss says:

Costas – like one said, berbs played well at wembley when he set up owens goal, there you have it berbs is at his best when he has a striker beside him. There is a huge difference playing ahead of park, and scholes playing deep and carrick, and playing alongside rooney or hernandez and both with giggs drifting forward and valencia or nani pumping the ball into the box. The system let united down big time

  383. keano says:

    @McQueen

    AGree 100%

  384. Chicharitoooo says:

B-E-L-I-E-V-E … on to the PL and Schalke then Barca … Double here we come

  385. Gorse Hill Red says:

    Gutted just gutted, feel sick.

We had our chances to score and we fucked up, they took theirs and fair play to them. No one to blame but ourselves.

Just hope the boys keep their heads together and win the 19th.

Come on lads 3 points of Tuesday.

  386. berbatunday says:

the main culprits…….. the men form spuds

as whole after the first 25mins, we just switched off………

we win some we lose some

    onwards and upwards

  387. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@McQueen, I agree that people dissing Scholes should fuck off. But it was a red mate. If he had not made that amount of contact on the players legs and it was only a high foot, then it might’ve been an yellow. But he made full contact and Zabaleta actually had cuts in the places Scholesy’s studs made contact. So, definite red IMO.

  388. Moscow is my heaven says:

Berbatov let us down today. Hernandez should have started, he would have buried those chances.

  389. Alpha_RS says:

    @McQueen
Hello mate. Have to disagree with you there. That was a red card all day long. If that happened to one of us we would be up in arms. Did you see the state of Zabaleta’s leg? Scholes could have pulled out of the tackle and he should have done. It was not critical for him to win that tackle. He has a history of bad tackles and it’s an accepted part of his game. It’s just a shame it happened today.

  390. Saad says:

    @Alpha_RS

We don’t know the full facts from the field. I wouldn’t put it past Balotelli to say something utterly insulting to Anderson (ala Marco Materrazzi) which is why Rio went to defend him. Balotelli is purely uncivilized trash. Talented, yes…but uncivilized.

Balotelli, Suarez and John Terry…easily the three people I hate the most in the Premier League.

  391. Marq says:

Yes Berbatov should have scored, but that was very early in the game, and he did not have another sniff ever since. Who’s fault? Sad to say its our midfield once again. the first 30mins City offered Carrick and Scholes too much time, and it did not take them long to find out. After that, it was one way traffic, until the last 10mins. I lay no blame to Berbatov, his confidence was the price we paid to get back Rooney’s confidence.

We have been waiting for Carrick to come good, and when he finally comes close to what he was before, he let himself down again. We need someone to be good 8 out of 10 games, not the 2 out of 10 Carrick is giving us. Afraid his time is up. Scholes have not played much recently, so there should not be too much to blame, although the tackle was stupid. When he flicked the ball forward too far, there was already a sense of something bad coming, and it came true.

Scholes was pondering over a new deal, I think after today, he will hang up his boots at the end of the season. Sad, but when its time, its time. We need new blood in the centre of the park, and urgently.

Can we just play 442 every game? Finally we come into some form, especially away from home, playing 442, and suddenly we retreat to play 451. Havent we learnt last season Berbatov is never going to be effective playing the lone striker?

  392. Chicharitoooo says:

we’ve lost big knockout games before guys, it’s perhaps losing to those fucking noisy neighbours that pisses us all up

just move on with it and stop slacking the players … fatigue came into play today and that’s it

  393. nani4ever says:

I going to be really honest, we really bottled this (lady arse style) this was on a platter for us and we threw it away this and the premier league are or biggest possibilities, because to me the champions league is a bridge too far, hope we double down and refocus for tue, what a bad day the U18 lads lost 6-0 to the dippers and now citech is going to break there trophy drought at out expense, am i in an alternate reality someone wake me up am in a nightmare

  394. Red Devil says:

SOme people on here calling Scholes stupid and blaming him for the loss…

    Fuck off…

That was rash, but it was never a red card….50-50 ball…Mike Dean has done the job he was paid to do…..David Fucking bernstein must be opening up champagne along with all the FA twats….

Pray to God that Bolton or stoke beat City in the final….

Mike Sumerbee must be wanking off for the millionth time by now….

    @Saad and Orez

Calling Scholes stupid and saying he should retire…SHOW SOME RESPECT you cunts…

  395. united.george says:

Zabaleta’s leg did not look as bad as Nani’s…..and that was not a red, so why should this one be?

  396. arijc says:

Sir Alex on Scholes… “He’s given us some unbelievable moments and he’s one of the greatest players we’ve had but he has these red-mist moments.”

  397. redrider says:

Give them lads a break. They’ve had games coming left right and centre with very little time to rest. It’s not the end of the world, falls somewhere just before it. :-)

    Cheer up y’all…
Focus your efforts for our 19th.

  398. carBANGrick says:

Our midfield aint rubbish but it aint good enuff. carrick run out of ideas when not afforded space and time and i cant imagine playing barca with their full pressing game.

  399. Saad says:

I didnt see the game so I dont know about Berba’s game. But I feel really terrible for him. He scores 22 goals for us, keeps us afloat in the league when Rooney was AWOL, is more talented than the whole of China and he still isnt rewarded with a regular starting spot in the big games.

And then when he does get a start in a big game, he’s handicapped by playing as a lone-striker, which has never been his strength.

Berba and Owen…these two should’ve started. SAF botched the line-up today.

  400. Chicharitoooo says:

come on! give Scholesy a break! if he feels he should retire, then he will … till then … just fuck off with comments on wanting him to retire …

  401. united.george says:

@Saad, but missing the open shot from a yard out? I love Berba, but I cannot understand how he missed that chance.

So is scholes out for the next 3 games? or not?

  402. Doghouse says:

By the way guys, Scholes earned his red card fair and square. Let’s not kid ourselves. He has let us all down today. I forgive him, we all forgive him, course we do. But that’s not the point. He should not have done what he did and I think he knows it.

Worth considering too that this City side isn’t some bottom feeding scrunt brigade, and it’s time we all realised that. Sure, they can throw a game away against anybody, but they have paid their money, brought in some good players, and this was not the banana skin game that a lot of us had convinced ourselves that it would be. It was always going to be quite an even contest, and they edged it. I hate it, it makes me want to puke, but City are not just some bogey team now, they need to be seen as actual competition and treated as such. At least until Sheik Mangina gets bored, fucks off somewhere else and the club collapses under its wage bill.

  403. hammons says:

Completely fucking gutted. Not sure what to say really.

City 1 United 0: Toure Trounces Thought Of Treble
    http://www.theunitedreligion.com/2011/04/city-1-united-0-toure-trounces-thought.html

  404. nikolaunited says:

    ..
carrick instead of building his form on chelsea games.. he decided to sell the game to city..did the same shit last year vs bayern… and i hope god have mercy on his soul
berba.. wow no words.. missed 2 sitters ..
and same mistake from fergi playing berbatov as lone striker..

  405. McQueen says:

keano – thanks, some people on here you only see when we lose and they come out to slag everyone off

Balaji, alpha RS – maybe i am struggling to see through my red tinted glasses but no way was I expecting the red to come out. Sure he had some scratches but they were no more than that, didn’t compare to Nani’s for instance. he caught him that for sure, but the intent was to get the ball he was just a fraction late. If the yellow had come out I think people would’ve seen it as the right decision. God knows there’s plenty worse tackles that go unpunished. ABU’s loved the decision and lapped it up that’s for sure, that doesn’t convince me it was the right one.

  406. Saad says:

    @Red Devil

Cool it, man. Go look at my posts. I never called Scholesy stupid. But I am utterly disappointed with his tackle. It was the game-changer.

  407. Samuel - united WE stand says:

berbatov went missing after the few minutes, the two misses were chances hernandez would have fucking buried with his eyes closed, fucking sitter and he lunged at it.

Secondly i thought sir alex got it wrong playing scholes, city had yaya toure, a man built like brick shit house. they had de jong the fucking hatchet man in there and what do we do? play a physically weak park and scholes when anderson would have being the better option (judging by his performance when he came on)

    How the fuc

  408. Chicharitoooo says:

    @united.george

    3 games yeah mate … straight red = 3

  409. CedarsDevil says:

What a fucking relief. No more talk of the treble……….. Those slaying Scholes can kindly piss off

  410. socratestee says:

Carrick fumbled again. But do not take it hard on him. Its one of those things. There is still the CL to look to and of course the league. Evra should have squared those balls instead of aiming to score and Nani could have been more direct. Hope lessons learnt. United!!

  411. Costas says:

    @FITB

I won’t disagree mate. And for his first chance, I’ll give credit to Hart for coming out quickly and spreading himself well. But the second chance Berb misses, has little to do with the system. The system is one problem. The other one, is that it looks like insecurity has creeped back in Berb and he’s lost his confidence. Imo, he has sat on the bench for too much in the last 2 months.

  412. Saad says:

    @united.george

SAF keeps talking about how many times we fluff easy scoring chances so yeah, I guess we got a reason to be peaved for Berba missing that shot. But that is more pertinent now only because we lost. If we didnt lose, nobody would’ve remembered it.

My point is, if Berba had a legit partner up front like Owen or Hernandez from the start, he’dve had more scoring chances and he definitely would’ve buried one tonight.

  413. carloc1978 says:

scholes made a big mistake but he is a bloody legend. thought we missed rooney so much maybe owen should have got a chance today! lets keep our heads up still so much to play for and they are far more important than the fa cup!

  414. nikolaunited says:

evra is the worst crosser ever i honestly cant remeber when was the last time he put decent ball inside the box..

  415. bbq bod says:

Scholes in midfield – I’m sorry but he has lost it. Say what you want but if you can’t see that then you are blnd. Ok we bossed the first 15 mins or so and Berba – if he had scored then yeah we prob would have won – but I had a feeling that the officials had it in for us today. City got away with a few rash tackles early on – no yellows and also that offisde aginst Berba was bullshite.
The worst thing was when we were unde rthe cosh and I was thinking ffs please make a change now get some subs on and noithing happened until too late and then all we can do is take off Oshea!
It was a fucking SHIT game and City were lucky – they had one fucking shot on target and I reckon he scuffed that for the goal. Fuck wembley – fucky City – fuck the FA – fuck that cunt referee – and fuck Scholes for that stupid tackle.
Without Rooney we are fucked. Arrrrgh!!!!!!!

  416. KingOfStretfordEnd says:

Just like how it was difficult to find a man of the match against Chelsea in the Champions League, i find it difficult to find a player to push all the blame to today. We won Chelsea as a team, we lost today as a team. And I’m not saying this cos it sounds like some inspirational thing or something.

I hate it how the Carrick bashers are back after a few- games holiday. I daresay, Carrick won the CL semi for us. And unless you guys were blind, he was great in the first half.

I hate it how the Berba bashers are back after a what, a year holiday? Listen here, we wouldn’t even be at the top of the league now, had Berba not stepped up when Rooney was having a disastrous time. Calling him a flop, you should be disgusted of yourselves and it’s disgraceful to call you all fellow United fans. How bout blaming Rio and Vida for their defensive lapse then? That’s stupid isn’t it? Considering how much they’ve done. So i dont get how blaming Berba is justified. His confidence is low, I agree, and that’s because he hasn’t been first choice for a long time. And the fact that the Boss didn’t give him a partner, didn’t help. That for me is he only thing you can blame Sir Alex on. Other than that, its the team that let the Boss down. I think too many big games in a row, a disaster like this was beckoning.

React, yes. But don’t be idiotic and conveniently start blaming Berba or Carrick.

  417. Marq says:

    @Costas

Like I said, Berbatov’s form was the price we paid to get Rooney’s form back. For all the blame being laid around, some should go to Rooney as well, for that stupid mouthing off. We built him up to form just to prepare for the big end to the season, and he misses one of the biggest match of the season for something stupid. Although the FA had a hand in it, but I still hold him to blame

  418. willierednut says:

Scholes tackle was a 100% Red card. On Berbatov’s chances, the first was a brilliant save by Hart. The second he should score. No question about that. Our lack of goals at Wembley, in the FA cup, is really baffling. We can’t catch a break and that was typified by Berbatov’s miss. Agree about Berbatov not being a lone front man. A mistake by Fergie? Maybe. If the Berb takes on of those chances, no one would be talking about playing one up front. Alas, It wasn’t to be.

  419. MG says:

    Balaji – all

Our momentum was enough to take us through

If anything that match highlighted is that it will now seem that Scholsey will retire and the right midfielder will have to be bought in – that is the biggest shame for me today

If anything losing like that is hard to take – of course it is – putting up with ABU shit is nothing new – so city thrashing United apparently will not hurt me a bit at all – neither should it hurt anyone

4 years at a cost of 400 million plus has taken them here right now – and even then we have ourselves to blame!

I wouldn’t be worried about it – it was such a brilliant ride in the FA cup – I’m just upset at doing what we did today – nothing else to say now since I have repeated that a few times

We have a match to win on Tuesday – nothing better to get going again

  420. nikolaunited says:

bbq bod@ its not rooney what we miss.. its giggs..our midfield is clueless too much of the season..

  421. Saad says:

Today it was United vs City+Bolton+Stoke. Bolton and Stoke fans figured they’d have a better chance of winning against City than against United.

  422. Red Devil says:

    @Saad

Sorry…it wasn’t you mate….it was someone Zelh and someguy called fahruane-Mauritius
    They can Fuck right off…..

I mean yes, scholes was maybe a bit daft, but call him stupid and blame him for the loss just makes my blood boil. Was it Scholesy’s fault that Carrick gave the ball away….was it Scholesy fault that Berba missed two sitters…. was it scholesy’s fault that United couldn’t looked so knackered??

This is precisely the reason why I stopped coming on here so often…because of fucking idiots pouring out the bile after a loss like this….

THis is the time to be United….not dissing legends like Scholes…

Seriously some of the so called fans need to get a grip…

You can criticize, but please don’t call OUR players cunts and what not…

  423. socratestee says:

When did you guys become managers. It happens, if you can get it right always, why aint you managing a team. You feel bad understandably but dont come here blaming SAF.

  424. united_greats08 says:

What a bad loss that was, eh? But yeah, everybody moves on from this. Never easy, but 19th is still at stake. City can have the FA Cup for bloody sakes then, at the expense of Champs Lge footy.
The boys can crush them in the Community Shield, I reckon.
WE’RE MAN UTD, WE DO WHAT WE WANT. :)

  425. KingOfStretfordEnd says:

I wish I could read Sir Alex’s mind. Because playing Berba alone is almost unproductive. All our strikers play the best with a partner. Berba hasn’t scored in Europe( when he’s started) this season for this same reason.

  426. CedarsDevil says:

    KingOfStretfordEnd

    Top post mate……..

  427. hammons says:

@willie: Agree about Scholes & Berbatov. The game should have been put to bed in the first half. Berbatov missed because of his feelings are hurt by being overlooked in favor of hernandez. well, hernandez would have converted both of those chances with his eyes closed.

  428. Samuel - united WE stand says:

after this city win, all you will hear from the media is the blue fucking moon rising, and it would get worse if the bastards get there hands on the trophy, i just hope bolton or stoke ruin the fucking party.

Sir alex needs to get the players fired up for the rest of the season, starting with newcastle which won’t be an easy game.

i never felt we were capable of getting a treble, you need luck and we didn’t get that, now focus on the two trophies which are up for grabs.

  429. MG says:

    bbq bod

Why don’t you fuck yourself as well whilst you are at it

    Fuck Scholes? Deary me

Fuck VDS Fuck Carrick as well whilst you are at it – fuck them all – they let themselves down and the gaffer – they shouldn’t play for United again – never again

    Get a fucking grip man

  430. willierednut says:

Another thing to say, this was everything for City. We can claim our 19th title and maybe the champions league as well. Yeah, it hurts, but we’ve been spoiled rotten down the years. Today, was one of those days, when we needed a piece of magic from someone. Rooney might have produced that bit of magic, but then again, he might of missed a sitter, like Berbatov. You just don’t know.

  431. StatesideAussie says:

    Saad … well said.

Well, this is the third time I’ve tried to post, browser keeps crashing…

This forum is going to be full of gloating bitters over the next few days. And on top of that, I can see our own Berba-haters (and Carrick-haters, and one or two Scholes-haters, and other HATERS) are already here, and I’ve got better things to do with my life than read that shit. SO I’m going to say my piece and then probably fuck off for a few days until the hysteria dies down a bit.

    1. I have never liked The Berb playing upfront by himself. I don’t know why we did that. If we could only have one striker and WR10 isn’t available, Hernandez would be better (and do we really need to save him for fucking Newcastle?). Or MO. Berbatov is no lone ranger. That said, he should have bagged either of those chances, and normally would have done. Well, shit happens. Happens to very striker sooner or later.

    2. I’m not going to bitch about the red card. It was 50-50 and both went in with a high foot. But in any situation like that, the one who arrives last is taking a big risk. I thought red was harsh, but I wasn’t surprised.

    3. Mike Dean did screw us though. I couldn’t believe some of the tackles that went in, even late in the game, that didn’t even get a simple free.

    4. With The Berb upfront, and Nani/Park/TonyV behind, surely the plan had to be to use speed down the flanks, with Park playing as the withdrawn striker, coming into the box behind Berbatov, one creating space for the other to feed off crosses. Apart from the first 20 minutes, didn’t see much of that. nce Shitty started to push forward, our supply lines were cut off. Emotion may have distorted my memory, but I don’t recall seeing much from Park, Nani or TonyV in the middle half of the match, which also left The Berb isolated. But I thought Park was an odd choice for that role. Indeed, when I saw the team sheet, I didn’t get it, and now, having watched the match, I still don’t. We looked better when Anderson came on. I’d have preferred him to Park (in a different role, of course).

    5. Hope we haven’t seen the last of Scholes. He’s out for 3 now, but this would be cruel way to wrap it up, a red card in a losing match to our most bitter enemies.

    6. All season, I’ve been saying to myself, “We’re asking for trouble with all this back-passing into the box, and square-passing across the box. One day, we’ll pay for that.” Well, today was that day, and we surely paid … big time.

    6. It’s done, it’s over, it’s not the end of the world. I never thought we would win the Treble this year anyway, and so long as we kick on to win Number 19, I don’t really give a fuck about the rest of it.

  432. Saad says:

    @MG

I wouldn’t call this year’s FA Cup ride a brilliant one, unless you meant in terms of the opposition we had to face.

Scraping through against Liverpool with a very early penalty, unconvincing victories over Southampton and Crawley, and a poor performance tonight…only the Arsenal game was noteworthy considering the line-up we had that night.

  433. dannysoya says:

Berbatov simply cannot play on his own upfront. it barely EVER works. still gutted.

I have now shutdown my facebook account , my twitter account. I have removed the sun , the daily mail , the mirror from my bookmarks. I think it’s high time i come back to my senses. Football is just a game and i make it seem more than a game. I have to regroup. As for Newcastle on tuesday. I can assure you we will beat them. Rooney returns. Let’s see what the FA will do to help the arse this time.

  434. Saad says:

    I loved Scholesy today morning.

I loved him when his name was in the line-up.

I’ll still love him when he comes back from his 3-game suspension.

Now dear Scholesy, please sign that extension. You’ve got one more year of brilliance left in you!

  435. stone says:

Berba, do us a favor. Sod off . Evra, sod off. Carrick, sod off. O’shea, fuck off. Berbatov, sod off again for the second time!

  436. Chicharitoooo says:

    @Saad

100% agreed. Scholesy should sign the contract and shows us fans his brilliance for another season … the 20th one

  437. keano says:

    stone.. fuck off

  438. CedarsDevil says:

We are United, we do what we want and Scholes can do what he wants…….

  439. Costas says:

Fergie should sod off too hey stone?

  440. The truth says:

    LOL @Stone
That sure did make me laugh. How about this? You sod off?

  441. KingOfStretfordEnd says:

I’m sorry if I’m seeming like Berba’s lawyer or whatever cos my last few posts has been about him. I doing this cos I feel the need to negate the presence of the Berba bashers.

I feel guilty when looking at Berba, we’ve sent our top form striker to slaughter to allow Rooney to gain his form. And obviously, it’ll be Rooney and Chicharito to start on Tues, rightfully cos they are the duo in form. But where Berba goes in all this, I don’t know. I’m honestly scared about his future, and I’m desperate for the lad to stay.

Lousy day. Just sleep in everybody, and don’t read the papers/web news. Cos itll all be about the blue moon rising.

  442. cruserer says:

Rio should have taught that italian bastard a lesson.

  443. McQueen says:

stone – you really are the worst kind of fan. I have more respect for most city fans than I do for you right now you wanker

  444. Red Devil says:

    STone

    Oh look he’s back…!
Are you permanently stoned you cunt!

Stop smoking so much crack, it melts your brains…

  445. StatesideAussie says:

@KingofStrefordEnd … top post at 18:50, “We won Chelsea as a team, we lost today as a team.”

  446. Samuel - united WE stand says:

Immediately i saw fucking mike dean, the round head fucking cunt i knew this match could be a potential disaster and it turns out to be, he couldn’t fucking wait to give that red card, although scholes rash tackle was fucking unnecessary, he knew we were a goal down and he goes and do that.

I always felt scholes was the wrong man to compete against a machine like toure, scholes is way ahead of him technically but physically he is superior and anderson should have replaced him.

Carrick has improved his form lately but how long did that last? passing square passes is his main problem, he could have hacked that clear but made the wrong decision and we got punished.

  447. MG says:

    stone

The Exit signs are everywhere please leave

    Danke

  448. Corea says:

Hey guys. I am not a Carrick fan but he played really well during lat few months and his mistake was because of tiredness i suppose. You can’t keep high concentration for that long without losing it one day. So won’t bash him for our failure to get to the final. Another possible scapegoat is of course Berba. But sorry, he had been sitting on the bench for quite a bad number of games, what do you expect ? He should have converted at least one of the chances though. Fergie tried to use Rooneys and Chicha combo to good effect but sadly Berba was hardly given minutes during the period.
So an even game, Citeh got their luck, we unfortunately didn’t. But after those 4-3, Scholesy’s 90th minute goal, Carling Cup games fate gave some of it to them.
We don’t have another final to play for and prepare for. Maybe it’s the blessing in disguise. Cmon Bolton!

  449. The truth says:

Guys, leave him alone. He did actually manage to make me laugh. Anyhows, I’m wondering why Oshea is on that list? Care to explain.. stone?

  450. Saad says:

    There’s a bright-side to Scholesy’s red card.

He’ll be fresh for the Schalke games which is going to be VERY important for us coz we need Scholesy’s experience and passing to unlock a disciplined German team.

  451. CedarsDevil says:

    stone

Thanks for cheering us up you dick head……… Now do us all a favor and piss off, or should I say sod off

  452. MG says:

Ah well can we have a replay?

Cheer up we have destiny awaiting us – come on United!

  453. Saad says:

    @KingOfStretfordEnd

Sorry mate. United defeats ruin my sleep pattern. I’ll be up until 5am tonight.

United defeats against the unholy trinity of Liverpool, City and Chelsea make me just wanna puke.

  454. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@MG, As much as I would love Scholesy to stay, I am afraid this will be one of those matches he was talking about in his interviews. When he said that sometimes you know that it is just time to give in. I honestly don’t want it to happen but I am afraid this is going to be Scholesy’s last season.

Ignorance is Bliss as far as City fans and ABU media are concerned. So I am going to take your advice on that. As I said, I don’t have a lot of ABU’s around me, so I am not going to feel a lot of pain but my heart still does go out to people who have got to hear all that shit till we do the thing we always do. I am not saying anything else aloud till we actually do it. I don’t want to feel like a jinx anymore. :P

Have a good night lads! I am going to lay off for a while since I know that the internet is going to be crawling with all kinds of shit for the next few days.

  455. KingOfStretfordEnd says:

    @the Truth

Why stone included O’Shea? You didn’t know, he’s one of out convenient scapegoats! I see you ain’t familiar with some ‘fans’ that seem to come on RoM only when we lose.

  456. RedFilip says:

Gutted as fuck, will very likely drown myself in cheap whiskey tonight, while listening to Crowbar and Down, southern sludge metal that is.
    But, I dare to say:
FUCK the FA Cup, mostly because of my opinion: FUCK THE FA
I’m not being disgraceful or over-ambitious, but with the EPL and CL becoming more and more difficult with every year passing by, let the small clubs kill each other while battering for the FA and Carling Cups.
shitty are the smallest club ever, so if the cups are for small clubs, let them have it.
Only disappointed to see the bitters in the final, granting them a big chance to win it, and therefore ruining the record and running away with a trophy this season totally undeserved, but a minor trophy that is.
Hope and Prey that either Bolton or Stoke, who ever wins, beat shitty in the final and still keep the banner ticking and the record standing tall & still. Actually, I’d prefer if Stoke beat Bolton in the semi and then defeat shitty in the Final, as I love rugby.

  457. carloc1978 says:

stone = dick head! hate twats like him prob did not even watch the game. i love united win or lose but lucky they win more than lose! bring on 19 thats the most important thing. can’t understand how people turn so much on the team when they lose just glory hunters.

  458. McQueen says:

I’m going to say it, city played well today and deserve to be in the final, I’ve had a lot of beer and worked myself into a depression but typing those words wasn’t as hard as i thought it might be. they played better than us today in the end. We missed some chances and made some mistakes and ultimately the sending off decided it (and i think it was harsh), but they beat us fair and square.

We can’t win them all and if we win either of the two competitions we are fighting for then it will still be a great season. I would prefer the premier league but either of them will be magnificent. i hope we pull together and resume our dominant form to shut the ABUs up and fulfil our potential.

I’ve been resigned to the fact that city will win a trophy (or buy it) for some time. Fuck it, our obsession with their lack of success will end and we can focus on us, United, and rejoice in our success regardless. They will never be on our level.

  459. MG says:

    Balaji

It’s a shame but let’s hope Scholes can have his moment if he does go

    Goodnight!

  460. CedarsDevil says:

    Balaji

Its times like these when we should stick around and give it our best to the haters…….. The ABU insects love it when we hide and we should never hide mate

  461. parryheid says:

The disappointment is great but self inflicted and I can live with that. This to me was Target Three and will give a reality check as we go again in pursuit of our main Two Targets it should ensure there is no complacency from here in so stay positive lads every cloud and all that, we return strengthened.

  462. KingOfStretfordEnd says:

    @saad

I’m the opposite, huge United wins like the one against Chelsea, make me lose my sleep cos I’d be too happy I need to watch the goals a few more times before I sleep. I’m turning in now infact, sleep it all off. All the best for your slumber, mate!

  463. MG says:

    McQueen

We are not obsessed with their lack of success

We actually take the piss out of it – that’s the only thing that will stop if they win a trophy!

They are obsessed with us – they want to be us – replicate us – be better

    Yep – okay ;)

  464. dannysoya says:

Look we all just HAVE to move on. We have no choice. It’ll be over before you know it. Arsenal is gonna lose tomorrow so no problems. I’m just waiting for the el classico. come on ronaldo shove it up messi’s arse.

  465. Samuel - united WE stand says:

Our game against newcastle could be what defines united’s premier league season, its a massive game now in a hostile stadium, but rooney will be back hopefully with his form intact, him and hernandez make that sparkling partnership, something a berbatov although talented could never offer, we need a win down there so we shall see.

i’m fucking dejected, i’m trying to find how to explain this painful defeat and i can’t explain it but i’m locking away from the media and any a.b.u shit, i won’t be able to take all that blue moon shit rising (aided by the fucking corrupt f.a of course, the rooney’s baffling suspension can only prove this), all united fans need Time to recharge but we must never give up, we must stand tall and fight despite adversities.

  466. mcquhae says:

Gutted at Wembley today – back at Wembley in a month. Come on United!

  467. MG says:

Have we reached Defcon 1 yet?

  468. MG says:

I’n not bitter just need some TLC

    ;)

  469. lankanbrat says:

even if city win the FA cup we might not need to take the banner down.. all we need to do is change it to 43 years showing the last time they won the league.. that will surely piss them off

  470. Red Devil says:

    @Mcqueen

They haven’t won anything yet mate! :D

    @MG

too right mate…they’re the obsessed ones..but as i said, if anyone is capable of a monumental fuck this up, then its citeh…..and hopefully the FA will not be helping them out in the final

Mike sumerbee’s wee dick would be swollen red by the incessant wanking off since full time! :D

  471. NotoriousRedDevil says:

Berba played up front vs Fulham on his own and scored. He’s done it a few times this season but have to agree if he wasn’t going to start Berba and Hernandez start Berba and Owen. Why oh why do we have to mirror cit-eh’s formation.

Didn’t agree with taking Valencia off, Park bless him was fucking useless today couldn’t pass it or even retain the ball.

Evra has scored 3 goals for us and one of them was a deflection so why on Earth is he taking shots from there. Has to be said by his standards Evra has had a mare this season.

Scholes can still ping a ball from 50 yards and have it land on a six pence, but his legs are gone. 10 yellow cards this season says it all, sad to say but it look like one of our pre season games next season will be his testimonial vs Oldham.

Not going to blame for Carrick for the goal at that point of the game under the cosh a bit and someone from midfield Park or Scholes should have picked Toure up. cit-eh had 3 tough tackling midfielders in their team compared to our 0 until Anderson came on.

Unfortunately I had a bad feeling about today this morning. I’m going to get it big time between now and my deathbed but so be it especially as I’m moving to Manchester in the next few months. Lets focus on 19, must win game coming up on Tuesday.

  472. MG says:

    43 is the new 35

  473. Passe says:

I’m not sure where this ‘City deserved it’ nonsense is coming from. At half time I was utterly confident that we would win the game. We should have been at least one up and City hadn’t got much of the ball. We gifted them the goal, and without our help they couldn’t create anything dangerous.

If this was the price we had to pay for 19 then so be it. And the positives from the game is that no one got injured. We need our squad at full strength for the upcoming weeks.

  474. CedarsDevil says:

Come here MG, a hug awaits! lol

  475. Saad says:

    @Samuel

    Agreed.

@Newcastle is gonna be a MASSIVE game and all we need to do is remember how the @Blackburn game last season after the Chelsea loss effectively ended up being the reason why we lost the title.

Failing to win the FA Cup is sad, especially since we lost to City. But the 19th is far FAR more special than any one FA Cup. Hell, it’s even more special than a UCL title. We must not falter. We must not lose sight of the 19th.

6 games to go, 5 wins to get.

  476. dannysoya says:

@Lankanbrat. never thought of that. GENIUS!!! :)

  477. StatesideAussie says:

@KingofStrefordEnd … and another top post at 19:17. I agree that Berbatov has been sacrificed in the name of allowing Rooney to regain his form. It does seem a little bizarre, and I echo your thoughts about what this all means for him. He’s been hung out to dry. And I understand why that was done, but I still feel gutted for him.

  478. denton davey says:

A match of two segments – from the off, UTD were rampant but after the two missed sitters and then Carrick’s mistake – he obviously didn’t “see” YaYa moving into the passing lane – gave them the opporunity to shift the momentum shifted. After that goal, the noisy neighbours grew in confidence and began to control every loose ball which led to a re-tilt of the field to their advantage. Then, Paul Scholes’ “red mist” merely confirmed that this wasn’t going to be UTD’s day. So, there’s lots of blame to go around but it’s always a team-game and the team didn’t have the reserves to regain momentum after those two missed chances and the gifted-goal. Such is life. Shit happens and the sun doesn’t shine on the same dog’s back every day.

In terms of UTD’s season-objectives, the FACup is third, CL second, and EPL first. So, there’s still most of that to play for – d’ya think that LiverPoo can beat TheArse tomorrow ? D’ya think that TheVirus and Barcelona will kick-the-shit out of each other ? Stay tuned enjoy the ride and hope for the best.

  479. MG says:

    Cedars

In times like these you know who you’re friends are and still standing

    We are still standing…

One match all be it no matter how hard it is to take we lost – one match will not stop us…

  480. McQueen says:

MG – yes true, what I mean is our happiness should not be linked in any way to their success, or lack of it. It will be dissapointing that we can’t take the piss any more but who cares, if they win a trophy so be it, we will win more.

Red Devil – true! but they probably will, even if it’s not this year. The point is, who cares! it wasn’t guna last forever let’s continue to dominate them and expand out trophy collection.

  481. StatesideAussie says:

That cunt stone still around? Hope he’s fucking left and never comes back. Don’t need cunts like him. If you’re around stone, and still reading, then take note. You’ve burned bridges here pal, at least with me and a few others. There’s nothing can fix or excuse your pathetic slimy posts. Doesn’t matter what you say, tomorrow, next week, a year from now, a decade from now, you’ll always be the cunt who turned on his own. Fuck off and good riddance, cocksucker.

  482. Balaji Sivaraman says:

@MG, LOL at that Defcon comment.

@Cedars, I will be right here tomorrow morning mate, don’t worry. No hiding for United fans I am afraid. But I do have work tomorrow (yeah I know it’s Sunday but where I am we work Sundays.) :)

Scholesy’s thought-process regarding his retirement really highlights how amazing and perfect VDS deciding to retire is. VDS is at the top of his game right now and is a shoe-in to win one trophy if not two and he is one of the main reasons we are going to win those if we do. He retires exactly where he wants – on top of the world. If he stayed for one more year, he may or may not do as well (most likely will). But if he does not, then people will tell it was one year too much and he doesn’t want that. Really perfect decision from him.

Now, it is really good night lads! :)

  483. NotoriousRedDevil says:

@ StatesideAussie – Point No. 6 of yours. Totally agree mate, too dependant especially as we may have a goalie who can’t kick for shit next season.

Have to agree with some of the comments on how Berbagod has been sacrificed to help Rooney. Although it has helped our season Berbagod still should have got more time on the pitch. He’s barely played for a while despite being top scorer.

  484. CedarsDevil says:

    MG

We will always be standing mate, we are UNITED…

    denton davey

  485. Samuel - united WE stand says:

funny thing was i was holding out for a balotelli sending off, there were moments in that game after his yellow card that he could have lost his head but the prick has clearly being threatened to start behaving or his contract will be ripped.

I won’t be shocked if city lost the final, they put in this kind of performance because its united, a stoke could win this or bolton.

  486. MG says:

Fucking hell at least they never had opera singers at Wembley like at the Bernabeau

  487. CedarsDevil says:

Watching those Spanish babes being caught on camera makes the game between Real and Barca worth wasting my time ! lol

We stil hav the 19th league title waiting for us.. The Champions league Semis awaits us.. N as for Shitty, they’ve won their WORLD CUP, so let them enjoy their fuckin Victory Lap.. They’ll surely fuck up in the finals..

  490. hammons says:

one bad game from berbatov does not nullify his tremendous contributions to this season. i agree with Stateside and that Stone is a fucking moron and shouldnt be welcomed here. That idiot makes my non-participating posts seem really insignificant, so I really should thank him right, smartalex? ;)

  491. parryheid says:

One thing FFS don’t pin any hopes on any benefit coming our way tomorrow it wont happen and we don’t need it.We stand alone and will prosper by our own effort as we always have done SAF will see to that.

  492. MG says:

    mmmmmmmm Spanish babes ;)

Though Hayley McQueen will do just fine for me ;)

  493. Vishal S says:

And on a lighter note.. Good We don’t have to go collect medals and a trophy from the Hands of the FA.. They ain’t worth handing us a trophy after all that they’ve done to hurt our chances. So let them enjoy handing it over to who ever wins it.

  494. Costas says:

Don’t know how many noticed it, but when O’Shea passes the ball to Carrick, he signaled to him to calm down. Michael must have lost his head in that split second. I think you can tell it was City’s day when something United have been doing in routine fashion for the last 5 years goes so horribly wrong. Not to mention Berba’s miss…

Honestly, I wasn’t confident about today. I just had a bad feeling. Mainly because this was THE game of the last 35 seasons for them. Plus, treble talk was nonsense. Not going to happe again. I will be a very happy camper if we win the 19th title and reach the CL final.

  495. CedarsDevil says:

    MG

Think we have an agreement here mate, you can have Hayley while I will have all the Spanish babes!! lol

  496. united.george says:

0-0 score at the Bernabeu, but from a diving standoint, they are tied 1-1.

  497. Mes says:

    What the fuck? Giggsy???

  498. dela says:

Was so disappointed after the game that I stayed back at the pub and got sloshed. Not the birhgtest decision I’ve made, but I needed it to get over the game.

The Carrick/Berba haters seem to be back here in full force. I can’t help but wonder why these knobs turn up on our forums only when United lose. Yes, it was a lousy performance but I’m glad we got done with it in this pitiful excuse for a tournament.

    @Stone and the rest
If you really think players should be sold (or asked to ‘sod off’) on the back of one bad performance, you really are at the wrong club. Go and join the bitters. From the look of it, they could do with a few more fans.

  499. CedarsDevil says:

  503. Samuel - united WE stand says:

I think next season, one of sir alex’s main priority should be trying to bring through an outstanding batch of midfield players.

Not just basing my opinion on this game but time scholes call it a day, a legend without a doubt. the best english midfielder I’ve witnessed but his legs are gone and with the game moving more towards athleticsm, technique and power, scholes wont cope.

we need to blood the likes of pogba, tunniclife e.t.c and anderson needs to fucking step up, his performance when he came on showed his capabilities and he needs to do that on a regular basis whilst learning how to fucking shoot as wel, we can’t rely on the old guards forever or we will be having monsters like yaya toure dominating us, pogba has potential to have same physical attributes and can be a fantastic player technically.

  504. Mes says:

Folks, have a search on Twitter about Giggsy. Someone must know something no?

  505. CedarsDevil says:

Just hope ITV had enough tissue paper for Townsend so he could wipe off his tiny penis after his multiple orgasms…………… What a dick head

  506. dela says:

    @Mes
    What about Giggsy?

  507. willierednut says:

What a load shite, this El Classico is. Mourinho reverts to type.

  508. MG says:

    Mes

Whats happened to Giggsy – can you clarify?

  509. Costas says:

    @Cedars

Great minds think logically in here, lol.

    @Mes

I think he was probably just rested mate. Lets face it, there has to come a point in time where we don’t depend on Ryan and Paul.

  510. MG says:

    CedarsDevil

    Townsend called city us

  511. Mes says:

Giggs, affair, Imogen Thomas. Fuck fuck fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck, NOTW tomorrow.

  512. torontored says:

Gutte3d – sick to my guts.

Other than the poor passes leading to the goal, Scholes having a case of the redmist and Berba’s miss fairly even game.

Problem was the “x” factor and in this game, and this I can hardly bear to say but – “today they wanted it more than we did, and showed it once they got the goal”.

Seemed to day that certain players were getting caught out of position quite frequently – and several times it was visible Vidic and Ferdinand were giving their own team mates quite a bit of stick. Reckon we will now see a new quality centre back/a new quality keeper/Berba will be gone.

Anyway off for a double glass of rat poison.

Alex hope your magic turns the mentality back to positive for Tuesday

    UNITED 194 – 2011

  513. MG says:

    Ryan Giggs having an affair?

Blimey that would be worse than Unite losing !

  514. rat1p says:

hope scholes gets the chance to work balotelli at ot
what the fuck is that cunt thinking

  515. MG says:

United – typo on the team too – ouch

  516. Mes says:

MG, not quite but do we really need another shit shower right now?

  517. CedarsDevil says:

Barca v Real what a fucking joke…….. Gimme a Blackpool v Wigan any day of the week…..

  518. willierednut says:

Fuck sake Giggsy! You can do better than that!!!!!!!!!

  519. willierednut says:

    Fuck your Bluemoon!!!!!!!!!

  520. Samuel - united WE stand says:

@MG – Are you suprised? the whole of itv wanted united to lose, it was what they fucking wanted and you could see the smug face on that ugly cunt adrian chiles, closet a.b.u.

  521. MG says:

    Mes

At the moment I can’t buy into it

After 20 years and having been through everything Ryan Giggs would do that now?

Somehow that one isn’t adding up – who are the sources on twitter?

  522. CedarsDevil says:

    Willie is on fire

  523. MG says:

    Samuel – united WE stand

Tell me about it Chiles couldn’t stop pointing out how quick United fans ran out of Wembley

Er – what are loosing teams supposed to do – ass lick the opposition?

Deary me ABU – is that all you lot have?

    :)

  524. MG says:

    George Lucas presents:

    Sheikh Mansour Mancini Balotelli

The Adventures of Bluemoon – Part 2 – The Kingdom of the lost trophies

Coming to a Wembley near you ;)

  525. Mes says:

MG, it seems to be breaking everywhere mate, Google the two names. Just hoping it’s bollocks.

To be honest, I’m fuckin gutted about today obviously but I just can’t entertain it right now. I just want this 19th sooooooooooooooooooooooo fucking badly. Just hope to god Sir Ryan hasn’t been stupid and this is gonna wash over. We all know things like this get way out of hand when it’s United and this isn’t just anyone. It’s Ryan Fucking Giggs we’re talking about mate. Just the last thing we needed.

  526. hammons says:

Here is a comment on my blog from a Berbatov-hater ….

BLAME IT ON THAT FUCKING BERBATOV!!!!!!! He is stupid today for three thing :
1 . Didnt score an easy opportunity
2 . Fucking lazy to chase the ball which give City a massive time to relax
    3 . playing for United!!
I would be REALLY HAPPY if united seel him,,NO DOUBT

Are we not United or are a disgruntled City fans? Remain classy.

  527. Costas says:

There was a story about a married player being involved with this girl. Personally, I won’t believe it’s Giggs until it’s in a paper.

Anyway, looking at our schedule again, things got a bit easier in May now. 6 days between the Chelsea and Blackburn games that will (probably) win us the title. Scholes won’t play against Arse and Chelsea, but I really hope Fletch is back for those.

  528. Samuel - united WE stand says:

Someone please tell me its a joke? giggs didnt have an affair? oh for fuck sake, after all his heroics lately you know those cunts will try find something to bring him down, what the fuck is wrong with the english media? please tell me it’s a ridiculous rumour and nothing else, please

  529. Mes says:

Hammons, it’s a sad state of affairs in the world that there are just too many people. Bottom line is, there are always going to be idiots like that. All you can do is stay conscious and know you’re better than that.

  530. carloc1978 says:

hope its not true about giggs all over twitter that hes the one the papers have been talking about. please no we do not need this the papers will be loving to destroy our title bid! things just get worse need giggs back on tues hope this is all shit!

  531. Yesred says:

It hurts bad.Let citeh have their day,let them dance round Wembley like they’ve won something. The truth is they haven’t.

Today has gone,it can’t be changed. We regroup,we go to Newcastle on Tuesday & win.Back on course for number 19.

The bigger prizes await, something wastelands will never experience.

  532. North Stand Tier 2 says:

We simply didnt deserve anything from today lads. We were beaten by a better team on the day.

Berba was useless, but he had no support, and never got into the game. The same can be said of Balotelli, so it was the same for both sides… More down to tactics than anything.

I’m not sure he got the tactics right today. Playing City for a midfield battle is not a good idea, they have big powerful and quick players, and we lost it in midfield.

If Scholes hadnt made that stupid challenge then we may have had a chance of getting back into it, but down to 10 men we never had a chance. He’s been a legend for our club, but he let himself, and the club down in a moment of madness.

Not sure about the substitutions either, where was Owen at the end instead of Fabio, Giggs instead of Anderson, and Park should have come off instead of Valencia surely when we needed a goal?

Its a bitter pill to swallow, but we missed Rooney more than ever today. Going forward in the final third we looked toothless, nobody could hold the ball up, or spray a pass out to wide. It’s what he has been doing over the last few weeks, papering over the cracks of a dismal midfield that we have had all season. Today was like 10-15 games ago where we were short of ideas.

  533. CedarsDevil says:

Wow what a game, what a load of bull shit……… English media have a wank fest whenever Real and Barca play

  534. MG says:

    Mes

Ha ha ha – what a laugh – Giggsy the rumour because he’s a family man and that his agent is shocked it’s not what he’d do ?

So from that the whole fucking ABU world have found Giggs as the culprit?

Let me help everyone with that

Defcon 1 averted again – back to five – it’s okay – we just lost a game – sorry gave a game away to the noisy neighbours – that’s all that happened

Next? SAF is cheating Mrs Ferguson with chewing a different brand of gum than the one the Mrs has prescribed for all these years?

  535. willierednut says:

City will fuck it up. Stoke or Bolton, will beat them in the final. Blue moon? My arse!!!!!!

  536. hammons says:

    @carloc1978

    what are the rumors?

  537. carloc1978 says:

hammons rumour is giggs is the player who has had a n affair with the welsh bird from big brother just hope its bull as we don’t need this at this stage of the season!

  538. CedarsDevil says:

So desperate they target Giggs? Whats next? This is fun

  539. hammons says:

hope its not true, but its not the first time that Giggs has been involved in a sticky situation with an affair. i agree it comes at a bad time, but players are people off the field. mistakes will happen.

  540. Samuel - united WE stand says:

Its obviously gotta be a rumour, giggs won’t do this when he knows we’re chasing a title, he won’t do this, he is a legend no matter what, i don’t give a fuck. we stand united.

  541. NotoriousRedDevil says:

Nadine Ferguson, Darrens ex-Mrs has said “Latest Football Rat make Rooney look like a fucking Saint.” How many Premier League footballers are huge in all fairness. No smoke without fire I’m afraid. Personally after some of the fiascos we’ve had this season don’t really care. Its certainly helped him roll back the years! Also

    1) Not doing it with a teammates Mrs.
    2) Getting it for free and not paying for hookers.
    3) No abortions involved.

If he’s not involved vs Newcastle and he’s not injured that must be a factor. This season has been memorable for all the wrong reasons, scandals, ambitions and bans. Can’t wait for it to fucking end!

  542. carloc1978 says:

lets just hope it is all shit and people are right giggs a legend whatever. fuck the media just hope the lads are ready and bang up for tues need those 3 points. united forever!

  543. united.george says:

    RM 0 – Barca 1….messi penalty

  544. hammons says:

with all due respect, but Nadine should go bang herself. Footballers are no different than any other human being. Not saying that what Giggs allegedly did was right, but let’s face it we put players on a pedestal only to knock them off.

  545. CedarsDevil says:

Giggsy……….. Nothing will ever tarnish your legend status at United my friend … If you have shagged or not shagged it makes no difference to me………… You are a hero and will always be

  546. Doghouse says:

Poor old City. They just can’t get a break can they? They finally put one over on us in a semi final, and BANG, Giggsy steals the headlines from the the next day.

  547. Always Be Closing says:

nani4ever – how about you fuck off? It’d be gladly received around here – I don’t give a shit about City, even if they win a below-average match against us without Rafael and Roo, hopefully Stoke or Bolton beat them, if not, we know we have bigger fish to fry than those bitty cunts.

  548. NotoriousRedDevil says:

Final comment then I’m doing one. Lets not live in denial here, the media have clearly leaked it just like how Kris Commons was banging Stevie Mes Mrs last season. They have been pretty spot on regarding shit like this. This week will certainly be interesting. Once again cit-eh WILL NOT make the headlines albeit for all the wrong reasons. How Giggsy behaves for the club is not a reflection on his personal life. G Nev was/is/and always will be a Red Legend but he’s still acted like a complete cunt towards some United fans. Proper ones not your mickey mouse plastic buy the t-shirt manu types. Although they’ve got it too.

  549. dannysoya says:

I was asking willierednut about giggs and imogen. Please do not tell me Ryan Giggs of all the people on the FUCKING PLANET. I’d be fine if it was Rooney again but Giggs? FUCK NO!!!! WOW!!! It is however not confirmed. Some are also pointing at Robbie Keane.

  550. brisbanefan says:

Obviously disappointed with the result but there is one positive to consider.
Had UTD gone on to win the Double, would Fergie really have got hold of £100million to strengthen the squad? Surely the Glazers would believe that the squad is strong enough to win honours next season?
Maybe he would be given money to buy another GK, but that may be all.

  551. NotoriousRedDevil says:

PS I do hope the rumours aren’t true but not holding me breath. Younger bird has done wonders for Linekars career albeit on TV. Also to the Berba bashers on here specifically you nani4ever cunts the lot of ya. United We Stand Divided we Fall, you miscreants are dividing us so we don’t need your support for this brilliant club so go fuck yourselves elsewhere.

  552. hammons says:

@dannysoya: do you not remember giggs banging his best mate’s girlfriend? its not the first time, and it wont be the last time, either. still a football legend, and that is all i am concerned about. i have skeletons in my closet, and, more than likely, you and everyone else on here does as well.

  553. Costas says:

Don’t care if this comes off selfish or anything, but if indeed the story is true, I really hope that Giggs isn’t pulled out of the firing line. We shouldn’t be losing players for reasons like that. We did it with Rooney early in the season and we dropped 4 points at Fulham and Everton. And like Cedars says, nothing will tarnish his legacy at United. We need everyone in this last push for title 19.

  554. Samuel - united WE stand says:

this shit will only compound our misery and make it bigger, hopefully it’s not true and we can all hold out for it to be a rumour as giggs is hardly an idiot that will do something like this with some whore on celebrity big brother, for fuck sake.

  555. parryheid says:

Its guesswork by a publicity seeker with an if I could tell but cant in the star.

  556. willierednut says:

    I blame the yoga.

  557. hammons says:

@costas: its not selfish, because it is felt by all. it happened off the field, and he shouldnt be punished for that.

  558. dannysoya says:

@hammons true though giggs used to be a playboy back in the day then he stopped when becks came around. Giggs will definitely be a Legend at United and everywhere as well. I am just shocked with the timing. And i heard that Imoen did not even come forward to tell the sun. It was a supposed “friend” who felt that Imogen was being played. I do not understand some of you in that country. There is nothing like privacy anymore in Britain. SMH. Another conspiracy plan put in action. This friend could have easily come out when Roo’s scandal was still on but NO she waited till we hit top form and started gathering pace for the final run -in and then BANG. she wants to bring us down. And i never trust the sun with all these “sources” they have. Why don’t the sources want to disclose their name? BS in my opinion. Doesn’t matter though cuz Giggs doesn’t start every game for us and we can do really well without Giggs while he sorts out his marriage ( i.e if all this nonsense is true).

  559. Samuel - united WE stand says:

Lmao @ willierednut, in all seriousness though we can’t let this derail our title push, sir alex will be back on the bench against newcastle which would be good in terms of giving out instruction and he needs to get the players fired up for the big games coming, starting on tuesday.

  560. willierednut says:

Samuel – I’m gutted we lost, but I’m not as distraught as probably I should be. Maybe, because I don’t see City as one of our main rivals, like the dippers, or even Chelsea/Arsenal. That will might change in the coming years, with the money the Berties are spending, but at this present time, I don’t see them as a main rival. I’m sure some of the lads from Manchester, might disagree with that, but Liverpool will always be the team I love beating, more than any. Anyway, on to Newcastle!

  561. denton davey says:

North Stand @ 20:48: “Berba was useless, but he had no support, and never got into the game.”

That’s just ridiculous – he was not “useless”, he was not unlucky; he was just not good enough.

The first miss was as much to do with Hart’s save as it was to do with Dimmy’s inadequate touch; the second miss was simply absurd – i.e,, beyond comprehension.

He had plenty of “support” on each of those two occasions and he was most defintely “into the game”. But he misfired – there’s no god-given guarantee of success.

He had his chances and he flubbed both of them. One miss was understandable but two ? simply not good enough in the clutch. Saying this is not a matter of being a “BerbaHater” (or whatever), it’s more a matter of understanding that for a player at the top level these things just should not happen.

  562. Costas says:

The director of the coverage today was full of bullshit. First of, I don’t need to see Rooney’s expressions every 5 minutes. I was amazed they didn’t show him while he was pissing…

But the worst one, was when they showed Mike Bumblebee at some point. For what? You get to show Bobby Charlton and that idiot the same amount of times? Really?

  563. GoatinaUnitedShirt says:

Fucking sad day, the team had no real spark and even though Fergie came out and said there was sloppy defending it doesnt excuse not scoring a goal in the semi final of a competition you’ve worked so hard to get to. Apart from Berbas double early miss all we had to show was a crossbar hit from a set piece. I think Fergie went into this game thinking of how not to lose it rather than showing the bitters who really owns Manchester. For al the pre match rhetoric we really showed to be the team with less and less ideas. Don’t get me wrong, Citys way of spending certainly isnt my cup of tea, but City are on the up. We’re not. We are doing just enough to make the next match but we’re not really the United of old.
I would have played a 4-4-2. I would have made a Manchester United match of it. We all knew that Manchini would only play the one striker and maybe thats why Fergie decided he didnt want to get over run in midfield and opted for a 4-5-1. Some will say it was a 4-3-3 but Valencie is too disaplined to make it look a 4-3-3. What actually happened was their midfield was bigger, younger and fitter than our 3 and it showed. So what we did was match their tactics with less work ethic, and all that backed up with a lazy Berbatov. Probably to match their lazy Balotelli. Terrible tactics and not very brave. I would have gone 4-4-2 and made their tall and not very intelligent midfielders track wide and leave gaps. One thing they didnt have in abundance that we did was pace. They would not have coped with Fabio and Valencia, Evra and Nani, with Park and Chico running about at the top end.
We fluffed it as we were scared.
A little extra note. Scholes sending off was a little harsh as he hadnt a booking but it was obvious from about 4 paces out that he lost it so I can understand with the ref. It maybe looked worse than it was. Rooney will have to look at himself in the mirror (without swearing) because his exclusion today made one hell of a difference. Sir Alex will also have to borrow the mirror as his actions meant that when the going got tough we needed a voice and presence on the touchline. Its not so much what is said to a sub before he comes on that makes the difference but who says it and how its said. I cant see the little pat on the back of Phelan on our subs and second hand instructions as meaningful to the players as an arm round the shoulder from the boss.
It was a team effort and not a good one. I wont blame a single bad pass from Carrick on the performance of the team. Yess he made some wayward passes afterwards, but that was down to dissapointment, before the goal Carrick was brilliant. After the goal the team had no direction.

  564. GoatinaUnitedShirt says:

One thing is for sure that 34 years banner is coming down, we’re going to have to find something else to take the piss out of now.

  565. willierednut says:

I thought Scholes Red card was harsh, when it first happened. Once I seen the reply, 100% Red card. I don’t want Scholes to go out on a low like this, he doesn’t that IMO. Along with Giggs, they’ve been immense for United and we all should remember that. He made a silly challenge, he knows. I still have hope, he’ll produce a moment, to remember, before the seasons end.

  566. MG says:

    Goat

I’m all for a laugh but city on the up?

Okay then I refer you to the league table – at that point you can spoil me silly to explain after 400 million how they are on the up? – Let’s not forget that city have been rich for three years – at least Roman had the premiership done and dusted within that time

city aren’t even close – and they won’t be closer still

One match in a knock out competition – one in which we were to blame for the loss doesn’t make them up and us down – if it does then something somewhere has gone wrong

I’d rather take the points off them in the league and win the title than win a cup – any cup – but again we have ourselves to blame so I can’t beat myself up about it too much – yes it’s an opportunity lost – yes we fucked up – but that’s the whole point – even they couldn’t believe how easy it was for them at the end.

Shit happens – thing is we have to move on – we have no time to sit ans sulk about it – we messed it up we have to sort it out.

As for Scholes – it was a red – just like it was with Evans – it was however no more than that – it was a coming together and Zabaletta got the worst of it

As for Rooney – come on Goat players were swearing again and profusely and were heard and picked up by the cameras – the FA will not react the way they did with Rooney – it wasn’t to teach United a listen – but it was to get Rooney back for that Wigan incident.

They were so angry that Rooney was untouchable then – they made it be that Rooney got charged for that

For what? For that? Seen and heard much worse before and since – please.

As for Sir Alex – again you are being very hard on Mike Phelan – I think he has done brilliantly

Just because it didn’t click today doesn’t mean it was his fault – the team as a whole are to blame

After what we have done in the last month any United side that was sent out today against city should have beaten them lot hands down

The fact that we didn’t because it was our fault – makes it as bad as it does good – because we can rectify our mistakes and push on for where we need to go.

Not a rant just a different way of looking at it.

  567. hammons says:

wait you are surprised by the timing? i am sure that this did not happen last week, but back in the winter, or maybe even before (assuming that it did happen), and this big-boobed bird must be low on funds and decided to sell her story to the sun!

  568. StatesideAussie says:

@Costas … yeah, what the fuck is up with the TV directors? It’s not just today, it’s every fucking match. Always doing ‘cut-aways’ to the bench or the fucking crowd and then lingering there, meanwhile the ball’s back in play …. I mean fuck me, if they must show someone who’s not actually involved with playing actual fucking football, can’t they use some picture-in-picture shit? Fucks me off.

  569. MG says:

typos above and not ans lesson not listen

We fluffed it I would agree but we weren’t scared

We just never ramped up the pressure – how we lost that match will be life’s little mysteries

It’s over now we have to beat Newcastle with all due respect to Newcastle and carry on…

  570. GoatinaUnitedShirt says:

MG, mate how you doing, hopefully getting over today. to answer your points.

You cant argue City arent on the up 4 odd years ago they were in a different league. League possition doesnt always tell you the whole truth. You have to take into consideration this year they are ALSO in the cup final as well as a good chance for 4th. They are on the up no matter how blinkered one can be.
I agree with you that City wont win the league, now or the next 3 years but I never stated that.

To be fair the rooney swearing incident isnt as clear cut as you make out. Players swear, yes even Vidic tried to alert the fact to the ref today when the lineman was beratted BUT Rooney aimed his swearing directly into an independant and innocent victim. He swore deliberately into the camera, theres one thing to swear at an individual that did you wrong or if you need to swear because of something your upset with but to aim your swearing at a camera towards people who are innocent in the situation is what upset the media and the FA. Yes the cameras in his face and alot of his wages is based on his ability to hold the medias attention (all this superstar shite) so unfortunately he has to take the rough with the smooth.

Im not having a go at Phelan either hes been a great servant to the club but he isnt Sir Alex and there isnt anyone here that believes he is the natural successor. Because he doesnt have that edge and its that edge that was missing. Yes Mikie has done well but of the ban this was the biggest game of the lot and going behind was a possibility, a big one. We needed a leader on the touchline.

Your right like I said we lost as a team but each and every individual has to look in the mirror.

  571. GoatinaUnitedShirt says:

Im upset because of what was expected today. In my opinion and if I could choose I would take a 2-0 deficit in the first leg of the champions league and a loss to chelsea in the league to put us in the final. Its not just the case of not making a final, probably the easiest since Millwall made the final but it gives City a huge chance of a trophy and makes us burn a banner which i have grown rather fond of. We will hear even more gob shite from them once they have silverware.

  572. willierednut says:

They’re gonna something eventually. I’m not that fussed about it. Sure it’s good taking the piss out of Citeh, but it’s more important what we do. I’ll just add this, they haven’t won anything yet. Arsenal thought all they had to do was turn up at Wembley, to beat Birmingham. Look how that turned out?

  573. GoatinaUnitedShirt says:

I think that will be in Manchinis pre match speech at Wembley Willie. I dont think two underdogs in the same season will win both cup finals. City are also a big team, tall and athletic and that gives them an edge over the lesser teams should they decide to play hard ball and knock the superstars about a bit.
Your right its more important we do well but bloody hell it smarts even after a few drinks.

  574. MG says:

Goat drink those bloody sorrows away mate – we’ll be fine mate don’t anyone worry about that one

    For United

My mother told me when I was a young child that if you fall and fall hard then don’t sit down and take it

Stand up dust yourself off and go again

Sooner or later she siad I’d get what she was trying to say

I got it – Got it?

    We go again…

  575. GoatinaUnitedShirt says:

MG agree with your Mum totally. But its a real kick in the bollox when its school sports day, its you and your fiercest rival for the 100m sprint, hes got eyes on your girlfriend and she has eyes on him, ready, get set go, and you trip over your bloody laces.

Good night lads, still have wembley to look forward to.

  576. Costas says:

    @Stateside

Exactly. Plus, they overdo it with the football personalities too. How many times do you have to see Fergie talking to his assistants, Mansour’s expressionless face or Manicini yelling?

And not surprisingly, so many cameras were around the pitch, yet none of them caught Balotelli provoking our players. Funny how that works hey?

  577. kev e says:

A legend as I know scholesy is he was the reason the midfield got overrun today and the reason carrick looked shit. He has played brilliantly in the last couple of months but scholesy was not mobile enough to help out in the way gigs can. To be fair even gigs and carrick might have struggled against yaya the tackle was absolutely shocking. Truly shocking. He deserved to be sent off and the worst is we all knew it would happen in a game of this magnitude. It always does.

Onwards! Might sharpen our senses. We were due another shit performance. Better here than in the league. Fuck citeh. They are bunch of classless cunts and always will be. Fucking mankini poncing around with his shiny locks. Twat!
