Ajax Confirm Blind Deal

Ajax have just confirmed that Daley Blind is now officially a Manchester United player. Whilst the agreement between the two clubs had been reached last week, there were certain conditions, which Ajax don’t specify, that were fulfilled today. The player was bought for £13.8m.

Blind is in Hilversum, Holland, this evening for the Player of the Year awards, after being named the best player in the Eredivisie last season.

Excellent news. Have being waiting for this. Cleverly and Anderson please can you depart? You spurned your chances to establish your role for United.

  2. EC7 says:

I like the sound of this signing. Dutch player of the year last season, had a fairly decent World Cup and is familiar with the system Van Gal is trying to implement. Hopefully he can fit right in, probably in midfield. Welcome aboard.

  3. George Joseph says:

Good news :) it’s a shame we are one player MD short of having a great team again :(

  4. Nigel Macmillan says:

Didn’t know he was player of the season in Dutch top flight last year.
Playing cdm too… Wow what a day, what a summer!!
Best up and coming English full back: Shaw
One last years best kids in La Liga: Herrera
    World Cup finalist fullback: Rojo
CL champ, WC finalist, reals best CM last year: DiMaria
    Top teenage Dutch defender: Mensah
Eredivisie player of the year,WC semi finalist: Blind
Top 5 in the world striker: Falcao
    Best Manager Available: LVG
Youth Team prospect: Sure thing (@Tommy) James Wilson
Pleasant Surprise: Tyler Blackett ( the kid has a great range of passing)
Plus: Januzaj 11 and hopefully Pereira too….
All I can say is Right on!!

  5. Nigel Macmillan says:

Forgot about young and lingard in my squad list:

Plus as it stands we still have clev and welbz
I think that is accurate as of right now…

  6. babzcorleone says:

Guys this lad is very impressive, really think Blind will be one of the bargains of the decade. He oozes class.

  7. Nigel Macmillan says:

Seeing a little buzz from dubious sources about Guarin from inter…

Apparently Blind was considered by dans and teammates alike to be one of Ajax’s best players.
    Good stuff.

  8. King Rooney says:

Can i just ask everyone on here one thing: why won’t Tom Cleverley FUCK OFF already? Sick to death of this imposter stealing a living off us.

Our standards are Falcao and Di Maria not fucking Cleverley and Welbeck.

  9. VolatileKid says:

Blind is a great defensive midfielder, brings out the ball from the back and initiates attack from deep with his quick and accurate passing. Its also telling that Van Gaal signed Blind among all the young and talented Dutch national team players that he rates him very highly.

  10. King Rooney says:

Blidn is absolutely fantastic technically he is everything that fucking cockroach Fletcher isn’t.

  11. Nigel Macmillan says:

    C’mon don’t call Fletcher a cockroach. He’s been a fantastic servant.

  12. King Rooney says:

Nigel Macmillan, your comment is exactly why we are in this mess mate. Too much of this nostalgia bullshit and not enough realism. Years of Fergie keeping around either AVERAGE or PAST IT players. Example A: Fletcher, as average as it gets, did you see him try to play in midfield last saturday? I emphasise the word try because that’s all he did. He’s useless.

Example B: Ryan Giggs, instead of telling him he wasn’t good enough anymore Fergie kept him around for years instead of promoting the likes of Pogba and now look at what has happened? We have no centre mids of quality apart from Herrera and Pogba is easily one of the midfielders in the world.

Sentimentality in football get’s you NOWHERE mate. Take a lesson from what happened under Moyes.

  13. Nigel Macmillan says:

    Forgot blind before, doh!

    Ddg, lindegaard?(still here?), Amos, johnstone,

    Plus Clevs,Welbs

    Good team!!

  14. VolatileKid says:

King Rooney: Please don’t call a United player ‘cockroach’

  15. King Rooney says:

VolatileKid, he plays like one. How can you defend someone as bad as him? Shocking. Haven’t you learned from last season?

  16. Nigel Macmillan says:

Not saying he’s good enough at this point to be starting 11 but just saying he’s not a cockroach.
He’s a good team/squad guy and always has been. I’m not one of these fletchaldinho guys. Just cause certain players are not quite up to it anymore, or never were is no reason to slag them off. I never said he was awesome or anything. I agree we need some ruthlessness. Even your namesake hasn’t exactly been lighting it up, you know?
And I totally agree about pogba. He is and already was awesome when we let him go…
And we actually just signed two very good midfielders in Blind and ADM. I think we are on the right track.
Watch the you tube vid on one of the other threads shout blind….he looks real good playing for Abax as holding mid.

  17. VolatileKid says:

King Rooney: Fletcher is not playing well. He shouldn’t be playing as a starter of course. But he is a United fan. He doesn’t deserve abuse. There are other players like Anderson and Cleverly who maybe are of much worse personality than Fletcher.

  18. King Rooney says:

Nigel Macmillan, got a bit heated on my part but that’s because i’m sick of tired of going to OT and watching AVERAGE in the middle of the park when my dad use to take me to see Scholes and Keane. I will not sit by and happily accept and agree with the like of Fletcher, Cleverley and Fellaini in our midfield.

I may get scolded for it but i don’t care because i’ve had enough of it. Thank god LVG is doing something about it, he really is our saviour.

  19. trevor knightsmith says:

evidently Arsenal have bought Welbeck for £16M

  20. samuel - united WE stand says:

Cannot believe Thomas Cleverley is still clinging on Desperately.. No ambition, no character, no talent… He would rather sit and waste a season loitering on the bench than leaving.. Pathetic

  21. King Rooney says:

VolatileKid, oh i will never question his character or attitude, even with Cleverley you can tell he really loves the club and cares but i’m sorry it just doesn’t cut it for me when you are crap on the pitch.

  22. VolatileKid says:

King Rooney: I also hope LVG becomes as ruthless as possible without any compromise. I hope he will do that to protect his own legacy if nothing else

  23. King Rooney says:

samuel, i fucking hate Cleverley, with a passion. Cannot tell you how much it infuriates me when an imposter like him puts on a united shirt and gets a wage off us.

Never seen a player more undeserving of playing for United.

  24. Marko Maric says:

If you want to see who s we gonna sign, track black Chevy

they look like girls, not suprise they lost

  25. VolatileKid says:

King Rooney: Not sure if Cleverly loves the club as much as we think. All the reports say that he is clinging on because he isn’t getting good salary offers from the buying clubs. He probably thinks too much of himself

  26. Nigel Macmillan says:

    That’s right Volatilekid.
We have to support our team.
KR: let’s put last year behind us. We were shit. We played with players in starting 11 that should be on fringes only. Now we’ve replaced them they can go back to the fringes. I think that this summers window has shown we are ready to move on…..
Trust me I hated last year as much as the next guy. And yes I agree fletch did absolutely suck it last week!

  27. EC7 says:

TC23 (jokes). A prime example of a young player happy to sit on the bench picking up the paycheck as opposed to getting on in his career and playing regularly.

  28. King Rooney says:

YESSSSSSSSSS we just mugged off Arsenal for Welbeck. 16m! That’s amazing, just Cleverley to do one and this is almost perfection.

  29. trevor knightsmith says:

    King R,

My Arsenal supporting mate is well pissed off now !

  30. VolatileKid says:

Marko: Watched the Real Madrid game. They were playing with Kroos, Modric and Isco in midfield. Played well at first, but nobody really defended and held the midfield well. A circus of a club.

  31. Nigel Macmillan says:

KR I would cut off my left nut to have Scholesy and Keano back trough the time machine door!
I think clever does live the club but he’s in shock cause he knows the dream is over end there is no way but down for him now. Think about it. Just human nature to be struggling with the situation.
Kind of feel sorry for him really. He’s just slid steadily down hill….he should go pull a Phil Neville and have a solid career at a smaller club.

  32. King Rooney says:

trevor knightsmith, can you blame him, we’ve had to put up with him for years.

  33. King Rooney says:

Nigel Macmillan, exactly. All credit to P Nev who left when he knew he couldn’t hack it at the elite level which is what Manchester United is.

Cleverley needs to go and go ASAP

  34. trevor knightsmith says:

    King R,

My sentiments entirely, and I get called a plastic for it, he is a good footballer, but couldn’t hit a cow’s arse with a banjo, he is just not a striker.

I agree with you about Cleverley also

  35. King Rooney says:

trevor knightsmith, they call you a plastic because you call it as it is when in fact you are showing that you care more than they do by not accepting anything less than the best.

Those that accept average should not be United fans. Any fan of any club that accepts average should not be supporting that team.

  36. j sman says:

reports coming in that we may be getting in Sergio Ramero

  37. Nigel Macmillan says:

Wayne commented yesterday that thus will be LVG s last job. He’s gonna be ruthless because he won’t want to tarnish his winning legacy.
Btw KR. I’ve only seen united once live (friendly against Celtic in Toronto)
You are very lucky to be a match going supporter. I Envy all of you who get to go to Old Trafford or any games regularly. It is impossible for me at this stage in my life….point is even if the players r somewhat below par you should still be grateful just to be there. But on the other hand I can totally get your frustration. Believe me I can see the same shower of shit you do out on the pitch, week after week…
Seems like we’ve got a bit of new dawn today though.

So much good business today!!! Stoked!!

  38. trevor knightsmith says:

I bet Woodward is feeling a right smug sod today though, but why not eh?

  39. Nigel Macmillan says:

    Trevor ,
Woody can feel like god today if he wants eh!
Wow!!!! He really did well. £16m for welbz,
Right now just to be rid of ando and not so clever….
Your right KR, just about the perfect deadline day!
I’m out till later , wife not having any more of it…..

  40. Tommy says:

    @King Rooney

With all due respect you lose credibility mate insulting any of our players when youve got that name, Rooney is the biggest disgrace in mancheter Uniteds history, hes a cunt through and through, some players might no longer be good enough but Fletcher is a proper United player, got lot more respect for him than Rooney

  41. trevor knightsmith says:

    Bad news:

“It now looks like the odds are against Tom Cleverley joining Everton. At the moment there is no deal between Manchester United and Everton.”

  42. King Rooney says:

Tommy, oh yes the manchester united and england CAPTAIN is a real cunt isn’t he? In my eyes you have no credibility.

  43. King Rooney says:

Fuck sake Cleverley is staying. Ruined my day.

  44. Tommy says:

    @KIng Rooney

He shouldnt be anywhere near the armband, tried to leave twice including to city, hes a fucking disgrace, embaressing hes captain

  45. Gazzer says:

I too don’t like the way that Cleverley keeps turning down opportunities in order to just see out his contract here. If so, then I’d like to know what the club can do in these situations. I for one would not do a single thing that helps keep him in match condition for his next club. That means training with the kids (to help improve them, not him), no special physio at the club, no eating with the players, and definitely no matches.
If he wants to play hardball over his contract, then so can we.
Anyone have any ideas on what is possible in these situations?

  46. Chris says:

For all of those slagging Cleverley off you need to get your facts right; only Everton were in the running for him and they wanted a loan deal while United were after a permanent transfer so the deal collapsed.

With all due respect Everton are the kind of club Cleverley should definitely be aiming for and he had every right to turn down the likes of Hull and Villa.
