Amos To Hull On Loan

Ben Amos has joined Steve Bruce’s Hull on a season long loan and is set to join them on their pre-season trip to Portugal. Bruce had initially gone for Tomasz Kuszczak but the Pole agreed a deal with Brighton instead.

Amos signed a three-year deal in May at United and is set for his third loan period following stints at Peterborough and Oldham.

The fee paid for the loan is reportedly £250,000 and Amos will be their first choice.

Good luck at Hull with Brucey managing you you’ll need it.

  2. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

Good move….but I think I heard about it a few days ago …hmmm

  3. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

I refuse to believe my Park is leaving ! :crying:

I’ll believe it when I see it….the thought of not seeing Park and Kagawa spinning players while doing intricate passing makes me sick.

Sick as a cooked dog splash with Soy Sauce….I knew we would sell him this summer but

  4. Redscot says:

Brilliant , not, who exactly is going to be on the bench as the goalkeeper for the season’s opening games. If Spain go all the way to the olympics final , with de Gea as the Spaniards goal keeper. Or indeed who will be the sub goalkeeper if either Lindergaard or de Ge get injured , ?
    young Sam!

  5. LexxytheRed says:

Park apparently on his way to QPR

  6. CedarsDevil says:

Bruce is at Hull? Damn I am out of date with goings on!

  7. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

looks like we got ourselves in a goal keeping pickle !

De Gea – Top Keeper, Excellent Shot stopper, U21 spain keeper and 21 years old. The next big thing.

Lindegaard – Experienced, composed, super confident, good looking ;) Says the right things, barely does anything wrong, 27 years old and has the character to stand tall in our team as a leader imo.
Seems like a comedian but he’ll grow up some time.

Amos – Big lad, strong, reliable, can do a bit everything, Homegrown, English, 22 years old and deserves a chance at United.

    The pickle imo is we have;
Potential vs Confidence vs Homegrown Product that is actually very good.

Two will lose out on being the best they can be at Manchester United, sooner or later one will be a bench warmer and the other will be sold to get more opportunities. Already we’ve seen Amos being loaned out. Say we hadn’t signed DDG or Lindy, there will have been chances for our boy Amos who been here since he was kid.

If we lose Amos in the future, I’ll be sort of upset, he looks like a gem …LOOK AT HIM ! ;)
Something about him says “he can do it”

Lindegaard reminds me of Szezney, Hart, Neuer….their personalities are big and it shows.

DDG on the other hand, is soo fucking good, I can’t believe we bought such a gold mine !

Dunno about anyone else, but this is a pickle

  8. CedarsDevil says:

I love me pickles, especially peppers and cucumbers

  9. ji sung says:

GREAT move for Ben Amos imo. He needs regular football and he’ll get that @ Hull City. Ok so its not a prem league club but he needs to start somewhere and get his career on the map. Good luck lad…

On another note, I’m actually proper gutted Park is off. The bets have been suspended, United have cut him off the tour photos and it looks certain he is going to leave. I’ve been a big fan of Park during his United career. He’s been a great servant to MUFC. A real and true professional! He’s cored some vital goals for us as well! Its disappointing really and I feel he still could have done a job for us this season. He’s a great player and you only have to look at some of Rio’s tweets to see how much he has been appreciated @ United over the years! Anyways what can you do. He probably wants regialr football at this stage of his career and u can’t blame the lad for wanting so.

  10. WillieRedNut says:

Another player leaving? Fegie is losing it.

  11. Redscot says:

If you are so bothered about ji Sung Park , go and comment on the ‘ Red force rising ‘blog i’m sure Alan would love to hear your comments , all though to me it look’s highly spurious based on one ‘ sky ‘ reporters view, since when did they have the insight knowledge as to what is happening at United ?
i thought this page was about Ben Amos ,no fucking pickles , and in my view nuts ! pmsl.

  12. CedarsDevil says:

    Willie

Fergie lost it ages ago mate

  13. WillieRedNut says:

    Tori Amos?

  14. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

pmsl? Is that that the thing women get?

I cannot believe Pac is leaving us….reportedly, At least now, he can scream “Thug Life till I die” at the Queen’s Park.

    :(

  15. WillieRedNut says:

    Fegie! :D

  16. CedarsDevil says:

    Thought it was Foggie, no?

  17. FletchTHEMAN says:

Good move for Amos and hope he gets his chances with Brucie. Who has done well with our loan players in my view.

Interesting rumor a couple days ago that we signed an 18yo keeper from Atletico Madrid. Fed perfectly with story of Amos off because we will need a second reserves keeper to back up Johnstone. But there is little to back up the news and some are saying it was a hoax.

So who will be the reserves keeper. There was a story we were in for Butland the U19 #1. Anyone?

  18. WillieRedNut says:

    Boogie!

  19. Redscot says:

@ clint no, thats for cunts yer thinking ! PMSL = Pissing Ma Self Laughing .

SAF, Vidic, Nani and Bill Roache have gypsies on their doorstep.

I suggest sticky paper, bug spray, rat poison and a shoe to smack them with.
I had gypsies once, smoked them out I did….set fire to the whole tree.

    :P

  23. CedarsDevil says:

    RoM rapes shit, just saying

  24. James1878 says:

Another United lad off to Hull, over the last few years Hull have had a fair few United players. Started with Frazier Campbell, then Manucho, James Chester, Cameron Stewart, Robbie Brady, Corry Evans, Joe Dudgeon and Josh King. Evans, Chester, Stewart and Dudgeon have all be signed permanently by Hull, so no surprises Amos has gone there. I live in Hull so that’s how I know all this.

  25. FletchTHEMAN says:

    ididnotzeeit:

The real reason John O’Shea left?
Lad got a look at the depth chart and saw Rio’s name infront of his for Keeper. Stormed right off and never spoke to Steel again. Kick in the gut

  26. Redscot says:

@ Cedars , Evening Dear , yeah but it didna rape the Arse Blog did it ? Click to leave a fresh Arse. ! Winner !

  34. WillieRedNut says:

Cedars – For sure! Remember his header against the vermin at OT? I’ll miss the bugger….

  35. FletchTHEMAN says:

Sold in July 2012 for £5M.

  36. CedarsDevil says:

    Willie

Will miss him too, loved him with a passion………How about his through ball to Hernandez when we raped the fuck out of the renties and won the title?

  37. WillieRedNut says:

Cedars – He played like a demon that day! We’ll still sing his song, though. ;)

  38. CedarsDevil says:

Or how about when he nullified Pirlo out of the game when we played Milan? Like King Eric and I have always maintained, Park is/was our most tactical player

  39. FletchTHEMAN says:

After the love in over Pirlo at the Euros, loved this stat:

Pirlo averaging 78 passes a game. But Park restricted him to just 21 at the San Siro.

  40. FletchTHEMAN says:

    Cedars, Cheers,

Actually more of a terrier in my view. Could run all day. But good tactical sense if that is what you are saying.

  41. daemondada says:

@sammy-utd we stand.Sorry for the delay in my response.System downtime.YES u did say (and I can read thank you very much) that Kagawa will NEVER be able to play deep just as Scholesy does for us at present.Frm my understanding of the English language, never means never. If u had taken out time to go thru my post carefully you will find out that I NEVER suggested Kagawa play deep rather I objected to ur negative appraisal of Kagawa’s learning ability to develop and increase his skills set just as Scholesy did over time. That is a gross misrepresentation of my argument on ur part.As for ur take on shifting players around the park being ‘british’,then I guess Pep’s shifting of Messi frm the right flank to the middle can also be construed as playing players out of position. And,if u must know,I do believe that Kagawa can do an OK job in that part of the pitch if constrained to do so by SAF.Remember that SAF said TV7 COULD DO A JOB there if it came to it.We all KNOW what Kagawa’s best position on the pitch is and we totally support him to continue in the role he occupied in Germany.Chill out man!

  42. CedarsDevil says:

  43. FletchTHEMAN says:

Any truth to the rumor that bwin will be our shirt sponsor in 2013-14?
Not so sure myself and starting to wonder if this was a twitter rumor that started from the release of the simple news that bwin was our gaming sponsor?!

Bwin is a sponsor, but there is nothing about Official “Shirt” Sponsor. Anyone?

    http://www.manutd.com/en/Club/Sponsors.aspx?sponsorid={E65D76D3-2252-45E9-9C3A-202FFBF6646A}

  44. Fred says:

Fletch – it will be a sad day when United have the name of a “gaming” company on our shirts.

You’ve probably hit the nail on the head regarding how this Twatter rumour came about. Not sure why you care so much about it anyway tbh.

  45. CedarsDevil says:

Common courtesy is seriously a thing of the past………

  46. Fred says:

LOL Cedars. When I think of Park doing a number on Pirlo, like you I think of the 4-0 game at Old Trafford. I was surprised by that stat mentioning the game at San Siro. Pirlo probably completed even fewer passes in the game we’re talking about. I could be wrong of course.

  47. CedarsDevil says:

    Fred

Seems you caught my drift? Ha ha ha ha

  48. FletchTHEMAN says:

    Fred,
Basically because I am horrified at the prospect. I just don’t like betting schemes as sponsors of sporting clubs. Wrong message all round. Looks daft enough on Ronaldo’s chest, and hate the thought of it on our youngsters.

Sounds like you agree on that score as well.

  49. Fred says:

Fletch – yep, definitely agree. It’s a growing menace in football.

  50. samuel - united WE stand says:

Kagawa can probably end up playing the role if FERGIE demands it but it will be at the detriment of kagawa progressing. I think united should get experts of the deep lying midfield role and let number 10 playmakers flourish in their original position. I’m just fed up with players being placed in a position they can do a ‘job’ rather than one they’re potentially brilliant at.

Messi roams around in that Barca team. Yes the formation before a Barca game shows his rigid position but he drifts around. Playing on the right or through the middle would have made no difference as he’s mainly the number 10 of the team, he’s an attacking midfielder, pep didn’t drop him to the role busquets plays or something….

  51. FletchTHEMAN says:

4-0 v 3-2 See your point. But 2 goals at the SanSiro was thought huge at the time and this was Pirlos back yard.

  52. Fred says:

Cedars, did you read the sensational transfer scoop posted by Dazbomber last night? Apparently we signed Van Persie six weeks ago! He’s ours pal!

  53. Costas says:

Hope we have a proper 3rd goalkeeper in the wings.

As for Park, I can’t say the words thank you enough. Seems like it’s becoming a habit that this club is losing loyal servants each summer. Last year it was Brown and O’Shea. Now it’s Park and in all likelyhood Berbatov. Sad times. I hope Park enjoys the rest of his career and gets the send off he deserves. Good luck Ji. And take care of Fabio over there in that cesspool.

P.S. Evra will be mourning more than any of us. He didn’t just lose his best friend. He also lost the one winger that knew how to get his ass out of trouble!

  54. ididnotzeeit says:

Lads, need a little ROM wikipedia here. My mate and I are bar-guing over who started in the midfield when the Da Silvas played the flanks against Le Arse. I thought it was John O’Shea and Darren Gibson……I seem to remember being more shocked about that pair than I was about the Brazilian brothers.

    Cheers in advance

  55. CedarsDevil says:

  59. FletchTHEMAN says:

You lads talking about the OT match in March 2011?
Very strange line up. They they have been scared silly of use for the last 2 years, so probably could have sent out the reserves.

  64. NOOO PARKY NOOOOO!! says:

Bring on the mercenaries Hazard, Robben, Sneijder, Neymar FUCK THIS WORLD!

  65. Fletch says:

    @Fletch

hope amos/johnstone can displace hart as nation’s No.1. I would love it, absolutely love it.

  66. Panderi says:

Hope Amos is their first choice and does well. Who’ll be our third choice goalie btw ? Is Johnston ready for first team action?

Absolutely gutted Park is leaving. 7 years, so many big games, so many great memories. Did think that his time was coming to an end after a not so good last season but I expected him to see the last year of his deal out. Good luck Ji. A few more against the renties, dippers and the bitters would be much appreciated. :D

  67. CedarsDevil says:

  81. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Cedars, You don’t have to worry about the Indian contingent mate. If we ever take over, you’ll be in-charge of the pantry and cafeteria along with Nigella Lawson as head-chef. Is that an offer you can’t refuse or what?

Thanks for that Fletch, I know someone with sour eyes who’s going to really enjoy going through that. ;)

  83. Ash says:

I really want to see lucas moura in action for brazil in olympics. Boy has got speed and skill. I would be really pleased if we sign him but 20 or 30 million is just too much. But who knows Maybe sir alex really rates him.

  84. Indian Devil says:

    Cedars

I understand mate all part of the fun no offense taken :)

    Twitter report by Duncan Drasdo

  86. Ash says:

The average age of the current brazillian midfield is 20. All of them are talented and are exciting to watch. I know they lost some matches but just give them some time they could be a top side and could even win the world cup in their own backyard. Always loved brazil.

  87. eric keane says:

@ash : the chances of us signing lucas moura are pretty slim I feel.
‘D rather we buy moutinho or witsel.

  88. CedarsDevil says:

    Ash

Ever watched Brazil 82? Look them up, Socrates was my idol

  89. Ash says:

    Cedars

Was not born then so could not watch them live but watched them on you tube and people rightly say that was the most talented side that did not win the world cup. Brazillians have always been entertaining to watch. 2010 WC side was a bit boring brazillian side but still they played some good football.
I always like brazil dominating the world football.

  90. Ash says:

    eric keane

I know it is very unlikely that we sign moura but never say never. I heard Sir alex rated moura very highly so it is possible. Have to say Brazil are again producing some great footballers. Quite surprised that none of them are joining the european club.

Ganso,Neymar, lucas,Oscar etc to name few all play their football in brazillian league. It won’t take long before these players play in big European club. I hope we sign some players.

  91. CedarsDevil says:

    Ash

Too right, the Brazilians are with out doubt football like it should be, best footballing nation with no competition………

Do look up more videos of their 82 side, most exciting football I ever saw in my life

  92. CedarsDevil says:

Do ignore the typos in my last post, this is getting boring

  93. Panderi says:

    Cedars,

You clearly haven’t seen Barca and Spain play tippy tappy football ? That’s some exciting shit.. :D

  94. CedarsDevil says:

Socrates (RIP) did not play football, he simply flowed on the pitch like an ice skater…….What a pleasure and an honour it was watching him

  95. King Eric says:

Morning. HAS Park actually gone or is it just more twatter bullshit? Quite frankly I do not believe a word I hear on there. People in the know my fucking arse. Oliver Hoult 3 or 4 weeks back “Hazard is joining United”.

  96. Costas says:

    @King Eric

Morning. He’s gone. It hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, but we are at the point where the clubs have agreed. Every website is running with the story. I would have been sceptical if our club denied it, but looking at Scott’s thread just below this one, they’ve confirmed it in their own way.

  97. Costas says:

Park’s fee could actually be 2mil instead of 5 as we suspected yesterday. Just like Brown and O’Shea, he’s left for peanuts…

  98. Costas says:

Anyway, having a look at our squad at the moment:

    - Arrivals: Powell and Kagawa
    - Departures: Norwood, Fryers, Pogba, Park, Owen, Kuszczak, De Laet and Fabio and Amos (on loan).
    - Question marks: Anderson, Berbatov and Fletch (due to illness).

So what’s left of our squad:

    - Goalkeepers: DDG, Lindegaard and Sam Johnstone (?)
    - Full backs: Rafael and Evra
    - Central defenders: Jones, Smalling, Vidic, Ferdinand and Evans
    - Wingers: Young, Valencia, Giggs and Nani
    - Central midfielders: Carrick, Scholes, Cleverley, Powell and Kagawa
    - Strikers: Rooney, Welbeck, Hernandez and Macheda

So taking the 3 question marks out of the equation, that’s 20 outfield players in the squad. Not enough I am afraid. Especially if you take into account the amount of injuries this squad gets. Something has to be done at the full back and central midfield areas.

  99. zigoo says:

    so long park,thank you!

great servant and a wonderful player, didnt have the best of seasons, but quality nonetheless…

leave us a bit short now so i am guessing there is a midfield signing to come which can only be good!

and as for the fee, well, couldnt really expect more for a 31 yr old who had been with us for 6 years seeing that we bought him for 4…i think potentially itll be a 3 million pound deal, which aint too bad imo..

    thanks parky

  100. Ash says:

    Costas

Very well said. Our squad needs reinforcement. Carrick is our main midfield player and god forbid he gets injured then we could be in deep deep trouble. Kagawa is an attacking midfielder so I don’t think he is the answer to midfield problem. Tom also has to prove alot before we can fully bank on him.

One midfielder is a must 2 would be great.

  101. samuel - united WE stand says:

Looks like FERGIE is clearing the decks for a couple of signings. Park, anderson have reached a stage they can go no further but park has been an immense contributor in his own style, hope he does well at QPR. Read nani is happy and his agent negotiating the new deal, i hope that goes smoothly because he’s a crucial part of the united team. We make all attempts to keep talents like him, add to it and continue to bring players through.

  102. markynorbs says:

Defiantly hearing you Costas. If we are going to compete for all major honours this coming season we need a full squad of 25 that a possible 5 player short and I would be amazed if we signed another 2 or 3 in preseason. So that hopefully means maybe a few of the reserve lads coming through? which Im a huge fan of. Its the United way! Would love to see Petrucci, Tunnicliffe, M Keane and Thorpe given a chance.

  103. Sandeep1878 says:

    Afternoon reds around the world,

great news on Amos – it will be a great move.

    News flash:

Park to QPR – around 5 Mil Pounds!!

Top Pro, i have nothing but respect for the lad, he has been immense in crucial games.

my memories – his customary goals against Arsenal.

and the thumping winner against Chelsea in Europe after Drogba equalized at Old Trafford.

    ##

Zeki Fryer to Spurs – i dont like to waste my time commenting on this lad.

    ###

Ben Amos on loan to Hull – good news, it will be a great exp for the lad under Brucey!!

    ###

Park – thank you for the memories and you did your best to establish the Asian authority in the biggest club in the world..

    Good luck 3 Lung Park..

    Respect!!

  104. King Eric says:

Costas – Hello mate. You well? Oh bastard. I love Park and he will be a big loss, not least as a great squad player. Oh well looks like Fergie is moving on. Thats a lot of players gone the last calender year as you say. The glaring sparse positions are midfield but more obviously full back. I would be pretty certain he will be buying a player for each of these positions. Interesting summer.

  105. Costas says:

    @markynorbs

I agree. It has to be 24-25 outfield players at least. Especially when you take into account the amount of injuries we get. But it has to be in specific areas too. For example, we are fine up front, on the wings and at central defence. It’s got to be 1 more full back and (given Scholes and Ryan’s age and the prospect of Ando getting sold) 2 more midfielders. Fergie said recently that he was loooking into 1-2 more things. So hopefully that means Baines and a CM. And like you said, some youngsters from the Reserves will have to be drafted in. Because the minute we start getting 5-6 injuries in the squad again, we will have a serious problem in our hands.

    @Ash

Hi mate. I put Kagawa in midfield because I didn’t know where else to put him, lol. But he’s not the answer to the problem, I agree. I really hope Fergie has something in mind. Something different that expecting Fletch to make a full comeback. It’s anything but a guarantee. And as much as I love them, we can’t keep relying on Scholes and Giggs. They should be impact subs imo.

  106. King Eric says:

How things change in a year eh? This time last summer a lot were hoping Carrick would be sold. Now he is one of our most important players and rightly so.

  107. King Eric says:

    Hello Sandeep,. How’s tricks?

  108. Sandeep1878 says:

    King Eric,

    I m good pal,

    how are you?

long time, how is Tom? :) say hello..

    ###

so a new central mid is coming!!!

let the ” who is the new CM” wank fest begin ;)

  109. Costas says:

    @King Eric

Good thanks. Enjoying the hot weather over here, although I realize some og you living in the UK might hate me for it. How are you and your family?

If we look into the last 12 months, then we could also add the likes of Hargreaves, Brown, O’Shea, Van Der Dar, Diouf, Gibson and Obertan among those that departed. It’s something like 15 players in total and the number could go up if Anderson leaves. And there’s also been a number of youngsters that have left the club like Morrison, Drinkwater, Corry Evans and Ajose. It’s been a very aggressive clear out. Haven’t seen anything like it before at the club. Would be interesting to see how much has been saved in wages. It also (hopefully) makes room for 1-2 more players to join the club. If that happens, the squad could hold up pretty well next season. As long as there’s a vast improvement on the injury front.

  110. WillieRedNut says:

The overhaul of the squad started last season. Expect more comings and goings before August 31st. A midfielder is a must. Maybe even two, depending on what happens to Fletcher. Baines will probably come in. Anderson and Berba remain in no mans land.

  111. Indian Devil says:

Sky reporting Juve fav. to sign RVP.

Still think he will whore himself to Shitty in the end :|

  112. Sandeep1878 says:

    Willie the Irish Hero,

    how are you pal..

I think Berba is staying put :)

the focus will be on midfield,

we can bank on Young/Nani and Kagawa to play in the hole, me thinks we wont sign a striker..

  113. parryheid says:

    Costas
Believe me your speaking to the converted with what is needed.

  114. World Class says:

If The Kenyan DAILY POST says it on, then its on!

  115. markynorbs says:

Key areas are as we all know are CM and FB. The fullback situation is apparently Patrice? But on the right we are not perfect Rafa is slowly making a name for himself as a bit of a liability in the crunch games something I’m sure he will eradicate from his game, but it was still apparent last season (Everton @ home). Smalling and Jones can also do a job there but probably not in the big euro nights. Evra may not be the man he once was but he is still a great player. So a more versatile fullback i think is needed like K Walker??? As for CM that a very debatable and all Romster have a valid opinion. As for me a defence midfielder is a priority. Tunnicliffe will one day do a job but for now we need to sign someone. How about M’Vila or Martinez? I do believe Carrick is the key to binding any new midfield together. He is the mistreo.

  116. Costas says:

    @Parry

I just hope Sir Alex is listening! Because if we are midfield pair at the end of next season’s title race is still Carrick-Scholes, then once again we won’t have made many any progress in that crucial area.

  117. Costas says:

    *Because if our midfield pair*

Caught in 2 minds again.

  118. Fred says:

The Kenyan Daily Post is usually first to know of all our transfer deals, so I would back World Class up by saying that the Moutinho deal must be 99.999999999% done.

The Times (I know it’s not as reputable as Goal.com or TribalFootball but hear me out) reported as fact this morning that United have had a bid of £20m rejected by FC Porto for said handsome midfielder. It was a mere paragraph in their transfer news section, but I’m sure they wouldn’t leave themselves open to an ugly lawsuit, so I’d say Sir Ferguson has identified our new midfield general at long last. 8)

Now I can exclusively reveal that Moutinho will wear the #8 shirt which is sure to be vacated by Anderson, possibly having returned to Porto as part of the same deal. Stays on here please.

  119. Fred says:

I would like to than FletchTM for that Haley interview. I didn’t bother to read it, just looked at the pictures, but I can say that her Dream United XI looks almost as good as her legs do in that first picture. My word, she is fine. 8)

  120. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

I love Park and I’ll miss him….another player to add to the list to follow next season.
Good thing he’s with Fabio !

I’m sure he is disappointed as Parky earlier said he wanted to retire at the club but it doesn’t look likely.
Park is an outstanding players, committed and rarely underperformed for us. The lad didn’t have a position but he was awesome wherever he was given a chance.

So many times he’s been our unsung hero, it would take me an hour to come up with a long enough tribute to the 3 Lunged Korean. He scored 19 goals for us over 7 years, I think nearly all of them was crucial, he scored against everyone that was tough match for us.

A true red and QPR better utilise him !
Park’s energy and relentless chasing will be missed. Rarely do you find a player as selfless as Park to the manager’s tactics.

  121. Fred says:

    than = thank

  122. Fred says:

I have to say, it’s a shame Park couldn’t have retired as a United player. That’s the way it goes though. Hell, even Del Piero and Raul didn’t get to finish their careers at the clubs they are so famously connected with, so I suppose Park Ji Sung can have no complaints on that score.

His exclusion from our squad in Moscow 2008 still leaves a bitter taste, I must confess. Silvestre? Fletcher? Over Park? That season? Really? REALLY?

  123. Fred says:

    REALLY?!

  124. WillieRedNut says:

We’ve got another case for Mulder and Scully. The Park files! First we hear it’s 5mill. Now we’re hearing it’s actually 2mill. What happened to the missing 3mill?

  125. Fred says:

I have to laugh when I see all these new clubs being linked with Van Persie. Juventus, Milan and Paris Saint-Germain have supposedly joined Citeh in pursuit of the Dutchman. Little do they know that United signed the muhfugger six weeks ago…

  126. Fred says:

Willie – I can see the headlines now: “PARK JI BUNG!”

  127. WillieRedNut says:

    Fred – :D

  128. Ash says:

    Willie

Glazer keeps it ;) . On a serious note I think we are stupid if we are selling park for 2 millions. Fucking peter crouch cost 11 millions. We also sold O shea and brown for nothing which was quite surprising.

I always feel we don’t demand right price for our players. Hell city are demanding good money to be paid for Johnson and Kolo toure. Anything less than 4 or 5 millions is not correct for park.

  129. Cyril Sneer says:

Sorry to see Park go, I’ve always liked him and we don’t need to be losing midfielders.

Just looking at everyone that’s left and potentially leaving, it looks like we’re freeing up a lot of wages these days. There must be someone coming in. Come on Fergie, where’s my Strootman?

Ha. The Kenyan Post? What on earth would they know before any of the British press?

Sandeep and Costas – Yes good thanks lads. Thomas is sound . A right little character now. almost 7 month old. Wore his first United kit last week. Yes you are very lucky Costas seeing as though it has absolutely fucking lashed it down up North for about 5 weeks. Yesterday was torrential rain. Horrible.

    @ King Eric

How are you doing mate? I just heard from your friend Townsend that you want Neymar and Busquets as the 2 midfield signings?

  139. Fred says:

Prasan – Federer again. 7 times the King. 8)

  140. King Eric says:

prasan – Hello mate., Good thanks, you? I would bring up bile if we aquired those two little cunts pal.

I am not of this thinking we need a destroyer anymore. The game has changed. We need someone with energy thats all. Someone like a fit Cleverley. Martinez is a great player but deployed alot at Centre back. Failing that he sits in front of the back four. We have Carrick for that. As I say we need an early season Cleverley who continually pressed the opposition and didnt give them a minute on ball. My choice anyway for a midfielder would be Moutinho without doubt. Can control games, high energy, can pick a pass. He has the lot.

  141. King Eric says:

Had to laugh at that fat Vic Reeves lookalike Custis on United in Press last night. He is that informed he even talked about “Clinton Morrison” . Fucking idiot.

  142. King Eric says:

Federer will piss it tomorrow. Top player.

  143. Ash says:

    King eric

Moutinho would be a great buy. No need to spend 40 odd millions on modric when we can get Moutinho who is equally talented for 25 millions. Apart from the penalty miss moutinho had a great euros. His passing were sublime. I think he will be the player that we will buy.

  144. prasan_UTDfan4life says:

    @ King Eric

I am good my friend. Thanks. Pass on the love to dear Thomas. :) I will agree with you on Moutinho, was very impressed with what I saw. I had read somewhere before that when Ronnie & him, started out with Sporting Lisbon, Moutinho was the more talented than CR7. But how Ronnie completely turn it around. Coming to Moutinho, would slot in perfectly with regards to our transfer policy as well as he’s just 25 and would soon be hitting his peak. I expect a couple more signings and have a feeling that we’ll promote some from the reserves, Tunnicliffe for starters along with Cole?

    @ Fred

We are on the same boat pal with Wimbledon! :)

  145. Cyril Sneer says:

Prasan – Don’t start the comics stuff mate, you don’t need to witness my comic book snobbery.

  183. Dela says:

Park gone to QPR for £2 million… that is a shock. I think we all know he could have ended up at a better club, but clearly Fergie is doing QPR favors (for obvious reasons) with this and the Fabio loan deal. Then again, managers who have expressed interest or admiration for Park in the past are not exactly at clubs I’d like him to see going. Arsene Wenger, for example, praised Park on multiple occasions, and I’d say given the chance, he’d have snapped him up at a higher fee, maybe around £5 million?

  184. james21 says:

    Cedars

That Spanish keeper thing was a hoax mate. Apparently, it was done by some pranksters who had created a wiki page as well by the name of Rodgrigo Alavarez. But of what I hear, UNITED have denied having any keeper by that name on their books! He does not exist it seems! :D

  186. CedarsDevil says:

Do not get me started on Robbo mate, I get all mushy and emotional! You shoplifted at Arndale? Must have been easy for you, even cameras cannot spot you mate!

  187. pakshi7 says:

It’s one of those situations; an embarrasment of riches. 3 brilliant goalies, one will leave for lack of opportunities!! Fergie didn’t want any risks after what happened when Schmeichel left, with Barthez, Carroll, Howard(who didn’t do so bad) and there was a period till Van Der Sar came when it was always a big question mark over keeper consistency……I back De Gea to be top dog because of his age and brilliance. Anders is very good but i don’t think he’ll wait around for too long. Ben is very, very unlucky, as once he gets back, Sam Johnstone will be 3rd choice, another whizkid!! So this isn’t a big problem for the gaffer, so to speak, but it’ a delicate situation and he’ll have some unhappy players on his hands for sure. But of course, in his own way, he’ll solve any situation, because he’s THE MAN.

If you come to ROM and go on a drift, you might just drift because of a drift and might be caught in a drift so as to why were you caught in a rift besides a lift. But still you won’t get the drift, as the one who started the drift is in a drift so as to whether Nigella is in a drift or is she going swift. But, still we haven’t found the drift, and the drift itself is caught in a drift so let the drift fuck itself in a drift and let’s observe Megan Fox!

    @King Eric

  238. RedManWalking says:

@Cedars I know mate! Just started my career! Trying to impress the top people :P Keeping my nose clean and the shoes shining :P

  255. RedManWalking says:

Haha! No way is Murray getting past FedEx! Feel for the lad though. Every time he gets near winning a Grandslam and the G.O.A.T is in his path! I am going for a Federer win in 3 sets! Absolute dominance and beautiful tennis 8-)

  256. Fred says:

    LOL Willie. So true.

Sue Barker: ANDY!! YOU’VE JUST WON WIMBLEDON!!!! HOW DO YOU FEEL??!!!! :D
Murray: Hmmm. Not really arsed to be honest. :|

  257. Zibbie says:

@Fred my Flintstone. IF SAF thinks the best for MUFC would be to sell Rooney, go for it Sir.

Wild times some 15 gone plus kids in 2 years, some 11 in or promoted, beloved JOS and Wes Now Park and maybe a beloved Berba.

Still some to buy and fight for promotion!!!!!

Great days at MUFC catch those oil playboyz!!!!!

  258. parryheid says:

Apart from these, I heard we are in for Candy Frownsend as our media director as well!

  260. Fred says:

RedManWalking – I have to agree with your 3 set prediction, that’s the margin he beat Murray by in the two other Grand Slam finals they’ve contested. The Swiss Maestro was at his SUMPTUOUS best in the semi-final and tomorrow will be no different. 8)

  263. RedManWalking says:

Fred – The Djoker even tried the “keep-smacking-two-handed-shots-to-his-one-handed-backhand-till-he-cracks” trick but even that was useless! Swiss maestro to pick up his record equalling 7th Wimbledon crown for sure!

  264. Fred says:

Best of luck to Britain’s Jonathan Marray and his Danish partner Freddie Nielsen in the Men’s Doubles Final. Will be great to have a British Wimbledon Champion!

  267. Fred says:

LOL Willie, I can picture it now.

Wife: Oh Andy, look at our beautiful, wonderful, bundle of joy! I love you so much…
Andy: Great. Can I go home now? :|

  268. Zibbie says:

Fletch great team break down 21 and under do not count on the 25 as well. SAF is getting a fool proof set of great young talent with TV7, Young , Rooney and Evans in their prime and a few more. Who ever is the next gaffer the Academy with no mileage rule, the Danish partner with the SA talent work permit shop….. No one bigger then the Club SAF knows this. He wants to leave it as fuck up proof as possible.

  269. james21 says:

  270. Balaji Sivaraman says:

    Hiya ROM!

Was a bit busy today since one of my cousins is leaving permanently for London (a stay that may likely be about 2 years). This guy is as close to me as my own brother, so there’s obviously some sadness there.

The thing is that he is going to be staying very near the Emirates and possibly closer to the Renties as well. And he was saying, “Oh all the Blues and Gooners I’ve come across look decent enough and have been friendly.” I was very clear to him that you see any Renties or Gooners on the road, go to the other side. He’s not a football person, but I think I definitely made my point. We don’t want our family members mingling with the wrong folk, do we?

  271. Fred says:

RedManWalking – Yep, Djokovic had no answer to the GOAT’s brilliance. He was at his SUMPTUOUS best! Now history beckons once again for the Swiss Maestro. 7 times the King! 8)

  272. james21 says:

  275. WillieRedNut says:

  281. FletchTHEMAN says:

Costas, Not so sure that we don’t usually turn over 3-4, especially if we are talking about the fringe players. I would guess that we have actually had less turn over in the senior team for about the last 3 years, so maybe this is just a correction.

Anyway, here is my list for what it is worth:

    Departed in last 15 months
    9 Left Senior Team
G Neville, Foster, Hargreaves, Brown, O’Shea, Van Der Sar, Gibson, Owen, Park, Kuszcek

Potentially adding to this are some questions in:
    Anderson, Berbatov, Bebe, Macheda

3 Left who were Fringe Players, always on loan
    Diouf, Obertan, De Leat,

15 Juniors have left. Although we can assume this is very typical turnover.
Morrison, Drinkwater, Corry Evans and Ajose, Norowood, Fryers, Pogba,
Eikerm, Chester, Hussain, Stewart, Dudgeon, Devlin, Gill

    Probably missed a few.

  282. Fred says:

Diouf  I forgot about him. I thought he looked class from his YouTube video.

  283. Zibbie says:

  292. Wakey says:

On the Park fee I suspect both the 2mill and the 5mill fee are both correct hence the confusion Most transfer fees these days are loaded with performance clauses and other such addons so I would guess that it’s 2mill upfront increasing to 5mill.

Shame Park is going though, I know he was criticed by many last season but he was often brought in when the team around him was also largely shuffled and as such struggled. You can rely on him more than say Kagawa as he has proven himself so it would have made sense to have kept hold of him even if it had meant losing him for nothing to give the new players time to settle.

  293. Zibbie says:

From 1980 I went of to University and lived in So Cal and No Cal for 5+ years, Denver area for 2, Minneapolis St. Paul 2 years, St. Louis 1 year, Mexico and Central America sprinkled in there, Back home in 96 with road time in there as well. As a short term fan of 9 years, I love SAF the way he makes hard calls. My favorite Football player was Keano, 1st for Ireland then MUFC. CR7 then Rooney were bought and Chel$ki raised the bar, Keano Capt. Gone! Becks Gone! Ruud Gone!!! SAF is the #1 reason I became a MUFC fan. Rebuilds and BAM!!!! 4 of 6 PL titles and an after affect, 3 of 4 CL finals and 1 CL title.

  297. Marq says:

Must be a slow day in the newspaper office. Now we are linked to Ashley Cole…

    @King Eric

So young Tom wore his first United shirt hey? Great! I hope it wasn’t the picnic cloth. If it is, I bet he will laugh when he looks at the pictures in 10 years time!

    @Wakey

Saw your response at the Fryers thread. The point I am making about contract negotiations is that they have to happen at a point when they are more beneficial to the team. You are right that young players can develop rapidly or stagnate within a year, but leaving the negotiations until the last 12 months of their deal hasn’t worked so far. For me the ideal period is 18-24 months before the contract runs out. Worst case scenario? We will renew the contract of someone that won’t live up to his promise. Not the first time that’s happened though. Look at Anderson for example. We can still sell them at a later date.

I agree with you on the Park topic. A disruptive season and one that saw him play as a CM far too often. Of course he was going to struggle. In 10-11 he had his best season when he got a long run in the side in Valencia’s absence and until he left for the Asian cup in January. It will be a shame to see him go. A bit gutted at the price (just like I was for Brown and O’Shea). These players’ resumes are miles long, but I guess you are only as good as your last 12 months…

  305. Fred says:

ididnotzeeit – I feel obliged to point out that it was Costas who replied to you last night, not Cedars!

  306. Costas says:

    @Fred at 17:57

*Sigh* One of the few times I strongly believe a player’s absence cost us a game.

Your earlier comment about Park got me curious who made the bench against Chelsea in 2008. Silvestre (given his limited action and serious injury that year) was a strange one. Maybe Fergie wanted 2 defenders on the bench? But yeah, since 3 CMs started the game and we had Ando on the bench, Fletcher (that year) should have made way for Park.

It’s ironic. We’ve been to 3 finals in the last 4 years and Fletcher has only made the one where we had an embarassing amount of options in midfield…

  307. Zibbie says:

Thanks Balaji, it is a fun video. Like I can only imagine what it is like to be pregnant. I will never know the full hatred to Liverpool the team the town for Manchurian’s. And Wazza is a Liverpudlian. So for me, as you know is my fav. player. But what a scouser cunt. 35 goals last year, Welbecks Yoda. Hitting his prime and Kagawa and Powell lets go!!!

  308. RedManWalking says:

Balaji – Haha! Given my reasons, mate :P I always come to take a peek at all the comments. I will re-post my reply to Cedars :)

Zibster, Glad you enjoyed it mate!

RMW, LOL mate! I understand. I myself passed that phase of being the new dog at work just a couple of years ago, so I know where you’re coming from. And good luck mate, I hope everything goes as planned with impressing the bosses at work.

And no Stateside’s not been around for some time. He is back where he belongs down-under. So I am guessing he’s busy setting up everything there for the wife and son to join in. That’s why he hasn’t been around for a long time. Though I myself would love to hear his balanced views on the IPO. But we did discuss this at lengths with him at the time of the Singapore IPO, and the general agreement is that listing a club on the stock markets is about the worst thing that can happen.

Papii, Yeah, I’d like to have a go at Kim Sears as well as Jelena Ristic, Djoker’s GF.

    http://www.tennis-x.com/images/w/jelena-ristic-picture.jpg

Balaji – Ya, I remember about the Singapore IPO. I was there in that discussion. But, this is different from the Singapore IPO in, mainly, 2 ways

    — Singapore IPO – The Glazers were planning to sell off a portion of the shares to raise money. Since United are pretty big in Singapore, there was a good chance that United shares would be valued highly there. But, there would be a chance of someone earning a lot of shares and mixed interests happening, having to appease the shareholders, etc.

    — US IPO – The Glazers are splitting the shares into 2 types viz. type A and B. A will have 1/10th voting rights of B and no dividends will be payed to the shareholders. The Glazers will be selling only the type A shares and thus keeping all the voting rights to themselves and thus still holding all control over Man United. But, since United aren’t that big in the US, the share value would be much lower than, say, in Singapore.

Anyway, I would have loved to hear his comments.

RMW, The Amazing Spider-Man is probably closer to a line of the comic books than the original was. I enjoyed for what it was, a really nice origin tale though it falls below Spider-Man 1 and 2. It’s not going to touch The Avengers or The Dark Knight Rises any time soon, but I really think they can take this re-boot to greater heights in a sequel.

Costas, The guy (and I include myself in this) posts in a movie forum, what do you think?

Willie, I would say that neither is better or worse. For example, if you take the scene where Peter loses his uncle, the acting from both of them looks like it is from someone who is severely constipated. Both are really not comfortable when it comes to stronger emotions. But both are perfectly suited for the role of Peter Parker which clearly doesn’t require the wide range of emotions that Bruce Wayne does.

Why don’t these guys take a leaf out of Christopher Nolan’s book? Chris Nolan’s Batman trilogy is the superhero comic-movie adaptation ever! He has done justice to the characters and the stories! I was really looking forward to the Spidey reboot too. But, really disappointed.

Balaji – Doesn’t matter who goes against the King. We know Wimbledon is his this year which would take him to World No.1 btw and thus break Pete Sampras record of highest number of weeks as No.1 :)

  391. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Zibbie, Cheers mate! A really brilliant vid that.

RMW & Fred, Yup, the King is back where he belongs, on Centre Court at Wimbledon on the Final Sunday of the Championships. I am not taking this lightly, but I’d be really surprised if Murray pulls of a surprise tomorrow. Federer was simply sublime against Djoker and looked like he was back to his impervious best.

Murray’s been dubbed the eternal semi-finalist. I’ve always felt that he has lacked that “something” that the other big 3 seem to have. You know that “unknown quality” that separates the Champions from the rest. Tomorrow will tell how much he has come along in the past year.

  392. Fred says:

RedManWalking – haha! I love it! Man I’m psyched for this final. 8)

  395. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Sandy, Nothing about that on my Twitterverse unfortunately. But that may just mean that I am not following enough sports journalists.

But I am guessing the interest is very real. The rumored price tag is well within our range. He’s not a certified star or a “world-class” player like some people like to say. So his wages aren’t going to be over the roof. And there aren’t a lot of roadblocks in the form of other teams gunning for him. He’s exactly the type of player some people have wanted on here.

I’d be really surprised if this was just an internet rumor throwing us off.

  396. Balaji Sivaraman says:

RMW, Brilliant conversation between a King and his Crown. I loved that. And tomorrow they shall be re-united and I can finally push my thoughts of the 2012 apocalypse (Heat NBA, City EPL, Chelsea CL, Spain Euro, KKR IPL, are you telling me it isn’t true?) away.

  397. WillieRedNut says:

The good news for England is that at least one of their sports teams is really going hard at it. I of course mean the English cricket team who are truly fucking the Australians over in the ODI series. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Ian Bell was sensational again today though. What a middle-order the English have got in both Test and ODIs with him and Trott in there, probably the last few classical batsmen left in the game. The English are looking really good for 2015 at the moment. Let the hype begin!

  403. Zibbie says:

  404. Fred says:

Balaji – You had to talk about the jinx of 2012 didn’t you? Damn (Now I see why parryheid is so sure of a Murray win :P ) ! I completely forgot about that :( What’s your twitter handle mate?

A cross of a white German Shepard and a Rhodesian Ridge back named Bentley after my dads 2nd car, 110 lbs wonder dog, 2 Old English Mastiffs, an Alaskan Malamute, Dobermans to mention some over 20 years. We trained the dogs to shit away from the house and dump in the woods.

Knocked over a horse ready to stomp my little brother, a scene right out a Disney fucking movie. When he died a English Mastiff named Buck at 3 took over. He was a light colored fawan with a black mask and a great, great dog. At 225 great with kids, my dad had a horse guy make a sadle for him. He gave rides to kids up to 80 lbs no problem and was so happy when we broke out the saddle. He would pop basketballs!! fucker. Imagine wrestling around with these big dogs at 10!!!! Sandeep, that was a cruel wum about Moutinho. Broke my heart man. :(

Sadee when your and Freddo mom dies I would go on a long vacation.

  438. CedarsDevil says:

I still remember during the WC semi between France and West Germany in 82…….The French went 3 – 1 up in extra time……….I was telling my late dad its all over then he said hold on Rummenigge is coming on…..The rest as they say is history

  439. Fred says:

Cedars – that was the game when the German keeper almost decapitated that France player, was it not?

  440. CedarsDevil says:

    Fred

Yes it was mate, Shumacher (spelling) did the kung fu kick, cannot remember the French player he took out….Was not even sent off or booked if I remember correctly

  441. Fred says:

    Scandalous!

  442. CedarsDevil says:

    Fred

It was scandalous that Italy won that tournament, did not win a match at group stage then suddenly blew into life with Rossi the fucker…….England got knocked out without losing a single match!!

  443. Fred says:

The British (am I allowed to call him that?) player and his Danish chum just won the Wimbledon Doubles title. They were a wildcard entry! Well played chaps. 8)

  444. Fred says:

First British Men’s Doubles Champion since 1936 apparently.

  445. CedarsDevil says:

For me the most enjoyable WC was 78, simply because of the Dutch team………Although the tournament was rigged as fuck with Argentina beating Peru 6 nil to make it past Brazil on GD and its worth noting that Peru were a decent side back then……

In a way I feel every WC is rigged, just like South Korea getting to the semis in 2002!

  446. Fred says:

Cedars – yeah, I remember discussing that one before on here. Brazil well and truly shafted at that one. Part of what made Euro 2012 so great was the lack of refereeing controversy and scandal imo. Just good football and very little bullshit.

  447. Fred says:

“Just good football (chat) and very little bullshit.” Could be my motto on here couldn’t it?

LOL Cedars, I won’t mention Serena Williams and her “ass to die for” then. Hope y’all have a great evening. :)

Yeah Foogie should have come out and said
” The Glazers are awful, I can’t do my job, I want them to sell up so I can get a higher budget”.

Yes get into to a war with the owners…like that hasn’t caused him stress in the past !
Are we as pathetic as liverpool to have Rafa, Gerrard, Reina all come out openly and create bad publicity and drag down our PR.

I do not like the Glazers because they should never have been allowed to purchase a club in the first place…who sells a club to man that has no money to pay for it? Are we a house?
Anyways furthermore, they have not invested a penny of their own money but instead have sucked the clubs tits dry for interest/ loan repayments.

Apart from that they ain’t as bad as suggested and are responsible for the financial growth of our club….so the major negative did have a positive attached.

I don’t know why but I still feel Kiko Macheda could be a top striker for us. We always seem to forget that he is just 20. We sold Rossi for same reason thin king he would be a failure. Look at him now he has become a good goal scoring forward.

Fabio borini is another example I would make. He was a chelsea player and everyone thought he is a waste of a player and now he is slowly proving to be a good striker. What I have noticed is the italian players develop slowly. If it was upto me I will keep macheda . Who knows in 2 years time he could have become a true goal scoring machine.

Cedars, Cheers mate, will pass on your wishes. Oh absolutely, Manchester would’ve been better, but anywhere that is not Leeds or Liverpool is fine with me.

  503. Costas says:

    @Balaji

Hi pal. Actually that article is right about us needing more of a defensive minded midfielder. Buying 3 players that essentially play in the same position (Kagawa, Powell and Moutinho) makes no sense. Plus, I doubt we have the funds for Moutinho..

  504. Marq says:

I am pretty sure that is how newspapers runs. Print a story of a player United are going after to get fans reading and excited, 1 week later print that it is not happen to get fans read and scoulding

Seem’s Bayern are nosing around my preferred United mid target Martinez, that’s a blow if we aren’t going to oppose them.

  509. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Costas, I agree mate. We need a replacement for Fletcher ASAP or we need an academy player to get promoted, though we’d prefer if both happen. However, my post was more about how the news sites are playing around with fans’ emotions during this time of the year. It truly is sickening.

  510. samuel - united WE stand says:

Annoys me that if united wanted moutinho, axel witsel e.t.c, why didn’t they pick them from the team they came through the youth with. Moutinho would have cost peanuts from sporting lisbon and with united having that partnership with them, he’d have moved. Same with witsel. benfica sign him for 6.8million and now he has a price-tag of 20million. The scouts must have been sleeping, united must have this policy of wanting to get absolutely ripped off. I just hope FERGIE still aims to bring in more players, i dread any injuries happening to key players or not quite having enough to challenge those lavish spending blue cunts (city, chelsea).

  511. Fred says:

Don’t believe ANYTHING you read about Moutinho. Except this: he’s signing for us. 8)

  512. samuel - united WE stand says:

Happy birthday willie. Don’t end up in a skip due to excessive alcohol consumption lol.

  513. Sandeep1878 says:

    Morning reds around the world,

to start the day on a very good note,

May all your dreams come true, including a midfielder ;)

    Have a lovely day pal,

Leave a note here about your whereabouts, we all know you are capable of repeating that hang over movie stroy ;) :P

    Good day pal..

    ###

    Just crossed my mind,

    was that Zibbie or Sachu?

Zibster never talk about David Villa and shit like that..

    ###

Morning Costas, Che Cedara, Balaji, Parry and Marq..

    good day reds…

    ###

I just have a feeling, if we dont sign any midfielder, now that Park is out, it will be Phil Jones who will be playing there..

    ###

This also crossed my mind because of the poor budget we have,

Smalling will be the cover for Evra..

    Rafael/Smalling____Evans/Rio_____Vidic/Jones_____Evra/Smalling

    ###

    ___________Carrick/scholesy/Jonesy/Tom c____

    ###

    _____Valencia/Kagawa/nani/Young______

  514. Sandeep1878 says:

    Samuel,

the scouts must have been sleeping eh? are you sure?

What you also have to know is, when United is looking for a player, his price tag will be doubled..

no this aint a scouts error..

  515. Sandeep1878 says:

    Err,

dropped my fav Berba in my strikers list there..

it has become a habit, isnt it? ;)

  516. Ash says:

    Samuel

I tend to agree with Sandeep . If manchester united are buying a player from a club that club doubles the VAlue of the player. I understand your point that we should have bought moutinho from sporting lisbon but honestly he wasn’t that great then. Moutinho now has come out of age and is playing well.
But I agree we should try to buy a player at the first attempt itself. Berbatov ,Modric should havebeen bought before them joining spurs.

  517. Costas says:

Happy Birthday Willie! :) Have a good one!

    @Cedars

I wouldn’t know about that mate. I don’t eat grapes or olives.

    @Sandeep

Morning. If that’s the case, then this will be one of our weakest squads in recent memory. Because (and no one can tell me I am exaggerating here), 2-3 injuries at the back and Jones will have to drop in defence again. Just like it happened last December when he actually showed some promise as a CM but then had to drop back again once Rio and Rafael got injured. I hope something is done because it’s starting to get irritating that we have to play these youngsters out of position and halt their progress in their natural positions.

  518. Fred says:

    Happy Birthday Willie! :)

Costas – Seems you’ve got Moutinho pegged as an attacking midfielder but I disagree. From my research, Moutinho is usually deployed as one of the “2″ in a 4-2-3-1 for Porto or on the left of the midfield trio when they play good old 4-3-3. The latter is also where he normally plays for Portugal.

Here’s where it gets really interesting though: United have allegedly had a bid for Moussa Dembele rejected by Fulham (source Duncan Castles, The Times.) Where he would fit in is anyone’s guess…

  519. samuel - united WE stand says:

Sandeep – maybe it would double but moutinho or witsel would have a lesser price tag, they’d have developed here. Anyway, scouts can’t always be perfect, just like any human.

On FERGIE buying a defensive midfielder. Not going to happen because he prefers all round central midfielders that can defend and ignite attacks. Moutinho is an all round central midfielder and would improve the team. He’s not a bulldozer but he has the energy and drive if united want to shut teams down. Same with witsel, although the belgian is physically stronger.

Defensive midfielders that just tackle and lay the ball off to more creative players won’t sit well with FERGIE, don’t your breath on that. I agree with him to be honest, central midfielders that can do everything are valuable.

  520. Marq says:

Witsel’s hero is probably Fellaini, just check out their hair! =p

  521. Fred says:

Marq – Belgium’s central midifeld must be some sight.

  522. samuel - united WE stand says:

Ash – that’s the whole point of developing players. They don’t have to be instantaneous stars, we’d develop him and i’d disagree with moutinho not being good enough at sporting, he was the captain and always seemed their best and most influential player. Has obviously burnt bridges with sporting due to the way he demanded to be transferred to their arch rivals.

  523. Balaji Sivaraman says:

    Happy Birthday, Willie!

Fred, Yeah, I caught on to that too. However, the entire transfer has a small mention in the article as highlighted by this tweet.

    https://twitter.com/United_Stuff/status/221897260089344001/photo/1

As I said, the media have a habit of playing around with fans in the summer, so I am not going to buy any of this nonsense. Remember The Fly from last summer who said that Sneijder was a done deal. I’ve finally realized that the only trustworthy source is the official website and the twitter accounts directly associated with United.

BTW, the posts by yourself and Cyril on The Kenyan Post gave me major LOLs yesterday.

  524. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Stuart Pearce has confirmed that Sir Ryan will be captaining Team GB at the Olympics. Well deserved, Sir Ryan!

Happy birthday pal, wishes from the heart you fucking beauty……….Chuffed for you…..Top top bloke

  528. Fred says:

Balaji – The Times never bullshit (apart from the time they claimed we had an £18m bid lined up for Del Piero back in 1998 – I’ve never forgiven them for that one.) Okay, maybe they do bullshit, but I usually have a good nose for these things and I have a strong hunch that Moutinho and Dembele will be United players very soon. 8)

  529. Balaji Sivaraman says:

Alright, alright, the captain of Team GB is Sir Ryan Giggs.

Jeez, how can you people get so confused?

  530. Fred says:

In all seriousness, well done to Giggsy. :)

  531. RedManWalking says:

Happy B’day Willie! Hope you get your b’day wish, mate! Sir Alex never disappoints :)

    Hello to all REDS :D

    Have we signed anyone yet?

  532. Costas says:

    @Fred

Ah, so Moutinho could play in a box to box role? Because that’s where we desperately need a player. I thought he was like Deco. More of an attacking midfielder. If that’s the case, I hope you’re right about him joining us. Although like I said, I can’t see us spending 25 million for him.

Dembele’s wikipedia page says he plays as an attacking midfielder or a second striker. I thought that’s what we bought Kagara for…

  533. Marq says:

    @Costas

Dembele played in Holland as a striker, it was only when he moved to Fulham that he was played in midfield. He would fit the energetic midfielder mould

  534. parryheid says:

Eddie Izzard in Treasure Island d/load it best movie of it’s type Ive seen.

  535. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

Dembele is a attacking midfielder slash support striker….similar role to that of Adel Taarabt.
Decent players but I don’t he’s what United need.

    We Need A Scotty Parker ! :P

Fuck I’m so desperate for a midfielder I’d take the one of the likes of
Huddlestone,Sandro, Frimpong, Faurlin, Fellaini,Tiote or Joe Allen.

 Danny Murphy on deadline day 8)

  536. Fred says:

Dembélé ran us ragged at Old Trafford. Dress it up any way you want, those are the facts. 8)

  537. Fred says:

Papii – I’d take a few of those as well (Sandro, Fellaini, Tiote.) Not seen anything of Frimpong but if his tweets are anything to go by, he’s a bit of a character.

  542. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

Fred – A lot of players ran us ragged….including Charlie Adam ! ;)

Also my standards have dropped so low after injuries to Fletch. the Aging of Scholes + Giggs. The departure of Pogba and the un-fitness of Tom Clevs….that those guys in the list look like Bryan Robson compared to Anderson.

I’m not saying Anderson is shit but I don’t think anyone remembers who he is or how much he weighs at the moment

Please Figgie….give us Karl Henry or Joey Barton or Steven N’Zonzi :P

  544. Fred says:

Cyril – I’m of the same opinion regarding transfer stories and the Kenyan Daily Post. They say we’ve got Moutinho and I’ve seen nothing today that has dispelled my faith in that fine Kenyan publication – despite the best efforts of some very naughty ABUs trying to get hits on their websites with fake Moutinho news.

Papii – you should aim a little higher! It’s my firm belief that Moutinho and Witsel are within our budget. 8)

Have to disagree with you completely. Anderson has never had the dribbling ability like moura has. He has already been capped 15 times by Brazil which says alot.

Honestly anderson isnt that bad. When he joined Manchester united he was an attacking midfielder but I don’t know what prompted to play anderson as a defensive midfielder. The major problem for anderson is his fitness. He needs to cut down his weight. I won”t mind us selling ando if the offer is right for him. We could easily get 10-15 millions for him if we are smart enough.

Lucas moura is no anderson. He is a pure attacking midfeider like rivaldo was. He has more pace than anderson and his dribbling ability should be lauded.

If we don’t buy a midfielder, I’d like us to overcompensate for the lack of midfielders.

We must avoid playing a 3-man midfield at all cost, only when desperate…a 4-man central midfield !

Have to disagree with you completely. Youtube video’s of Anderson suggests, he was Ronaldinho when we bought him, if not better than him. He has 145 apps for United while Lucas is playing in the pee-wee league.

Anderson doesn’t need to lose a lot of weight…Rooney is a chubby bastard and does excellently for us. The thinnest Wayne has been in his career was in 2010- when he returned from an intense work out in the USA to play his first match since ambition-gate against Rangers ! Other than, he;s been chubby and done very well for us.
Ando needs to steer clear of injuries, he’s 24 now !

Lucas moura doesn’t impress me, neither does Neymar or Ganso…I’d pay £20m max for each of them.

I think we have to agree to disagree in this situation. Like I said I don’t know what prompted sir alex to play ando as a defensive midfielder when he was an attacking midfielder. I think this has been the major reason why ando has never been that great.
I also think ando needs to cut down his weight. Rooney is a chubby guy but he is still one of the fastest player in the world football. Anderson looks unfit. So comparing rooney’s body with anderson is not correct. I still believe ando would have succeeded if he was given the attacking role.

I am impressed by moura. I have never seen ando dribble the way lucas has done. But I agree with you in one thing is that no way these young players can be valued at 20 or 30 million

To be frank Sir alex has done the right thing by not saying anything. If he had something it could have created havoc. I don’t think glazer are that bad. I know they have taken huge amount of money but I will prefer them to the sugar daddies which city and chelsea have.

I’ve had a look at that link and some of the comments at the bottom of the page are bang on the money.
Until the moment Thle Glazers took over United were a well run football club growing organically both on and off the pitch. Citeh fans often ask what the difference is between Citeh buying the title and United buying the title. Well the answer is United spent money they had raised through a well run football club. I’m not happy about United being leveraged with so much debt as even the best experts can not forsee what will happen in the future. Had it all gone wrong United would have been broken down and sold off bit by bit from the top to the bottom. That kind of risk I can not accept.

    @kev e
Surely since SAF has the title “Sir” he should be allowed such privilages…! :D

  572. WillieRedNut says:

Somewhere in the highlands…….parryheid is giggling like fuck! :P

  573. Ash says:

    Matt

I would never want our owners to interfere with our transfer matters.I am not defending glazers and i am not their fan but I will like glazer like owners owning our club than these sugar daddy’s who interfere with the managers. Look at Roman he always interferes with chelsea’s managers. Same with sheik. I personally don’t want that to happen. You may love it but I think machester united is better run this way but without debts.

  574. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

    mattbw7

    I put that up yesterday ! ;)

What could Fergie possibly said that helps his situation?

What can he have said to ease the tensions between fans – owners – the risk of affecting on pitch performances?

Would it be in the best interests of Manchester United for the long standing manager to come out and openly criticise the owners or complain about his lack of resources (money)? How would it help fund transfers or how would it ease the pressure from the ABU media, who’d love nothing but to see “the United dynasty collapse” under the reign of Sir Alex Ferguson !

If anything, the club would be in conflict from within….the ship cannot afford to have one side heavier than the other….SAF is right in the middle between fans & Owners….he has to stand at the wheel of the ship….and not join in with the huffing and puffing.

SAF is the manager, he’ll manage what resources he has available to him because that’s in the job description. Winning trophies, building mega-squads comes 2nd, the first target for him is to always keep the club competitive….like David Moyes is doing at Everton (as an example), SAF has done it countless times before and he’ll do it again.

We are not liverpool or in their situation to cause a mutiny or anything. Our clubs owners are sneakier and slimier, they will leave when they have maximised profits and quintuple the “they paid?”

  575. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

    *the amount “they paid”. *

I am no defender of the Glazers…in fact I can stand the position financial position we are in. Its never nice looking into your bank account and seeing Minus figures…whilst your pockets are full of dough !

    Ash

    Agree to disagree ;)
#But Ando was moved to central midfield for a reason. Its part of his education to learn all aspects of the midfield role, the tackling, the interceptions, the break up of play, the playmaking from deep, positional play, running with the ball, starting attacking plays….everything can be learnt.
Ando hasn’t been learning much because injury keeps halting any chance of progress. I think SAF did the best thing to drop him deep….at the time, I disagreed like you, but now I see it as a part of the education of a midfielder, Kagawa will be pushed wide occasionally to aid his education imo aswell.

Anyways, Ando has had alot of money and time invested in him, the least we can expect from him now is at least 3 good seasons but I don’t see it happening, I would say “sell the kid” but we are in a position we’re we need to keep numbers up in central midfield as we look increasingly unlikely to ever in this position again.

    :P

  576. Ash says:

    AlphaRS

Well said. Our club does not deserve this kind of debt. I think Sir alex would have spoken if the situation was out of control and the debt had became unmanageable. I truly hope the IPO thing works out and we manage to reduce the debt amount considerably

  577. mattbw7 says:

Ash, the glazers ownership model interferes with our transfer policy every year, ffs.

ANd the other fella, what would it have done to help? if you need that spelling out………….I’d better leave it there/

  578. FletchTHEMAN says:

    Glazers?
    – Used 500M of United money to fund debt
    – Used Ronaldo cash to buy Smalling, Chicharito, Bebe, Jones and Young DeGea and Lindegaard. Quality? Maybe, but outside DeGea, none of whom were ever going to be considered a major signing.

Only difference between Glazers and an unmitigated disaster are the trophies. But that is on players that were largely in place when Glazers came in. Now we start a period that will be far more revealing. Not completely anti-Glaze, but we have to be honest, last year was disappointing and other teams are making moves that seem to put paid to the Glazer model. One is always optimistic about a Fergie lead United, but you don’t have to be completely daft either.

In my view, for Glazers to be an ultimate success they simply have to pay off the dept and prove that we can go out and get top players.
The 500M paid on dept show the amounts that could/should be available, similar to what city and chavs have bought…………….combined. Something to think on.

Fraid not, that Ronaldo cash was not spent on players, you need to read Andersred and understand the amortisation played in these transfers.

Like I said in my above post I don’t support glazer. I would love if they leave united and we are without any debt . Thats Why I hope The IPO things work out and we clear the debt.

  581. 911_DEViL says:

Chicharito is a proper signing, with a good supply… He’s deadly.
    Smalling a great defender.
Jones hyped out but except his boosting overlapping runs, nothing much special.
I don’t fully agree with matt

  582. wayne says:

Two things thought the debt payments were around 40mill a year so not sure about the 500mill figure.Secondly nobody ever compares amont of debt paid to increased revenue,it’s always one sided
Since Glaziers took over revenue has increased dramatically and have escalated as a world wide brand like no other club, doubled fan base in 3 to 4 yrs, that’s no fluke. So surely the only fair way to calulate these things is to take everything into account instead of it being a one way arguement,to me that’s just a distorted article to make his point

  583. mattb77 says:

this IPO won’t cover anywhere near the current debt level, it may flush out a buyer as it will set a proper valuation.

Willie – parryheid bet his life savings on Murray to win in straight sets. Those giggles have turned to tears I think!

  585. WillieRedNut says:

Still not sure what impact Fergie speaking out would’ve done to alter Glazer’s plans for United. Maybe saying they’ve been great owners was a bit ott. I believe he was thinking in terms of how they dealt with him personally. Not how they bought the club, obviously.

  586. WillieRedNut says:

Fred – Lol. The rain came at the right time for Murray, methinks. ;)

  587. Fred says:

LOL Willie. Somewhere in Scotland, parry was doing a rain dance.

  590. slim says:

I don’t care who we’re in for. I just pray we get a defensive midfielder. that’s what I feel we need.
keeping the ball was our Achilles heel last year and another is defensive work in the middle of the park.

  591. WillieRedNut says:

We all know by now, where the bulk of the Ronaldo money went. I’m sure there’s evidence of this. Matt suggested Andersred blog for a more detailed explanation. The latter also done a piece on the Glazer’s latest attempts to reduce the debt. Seems to think it’s a good idea as well. Hope it works.
