Anderson has today signed a contract extension with the club that keeps him here until 2015.
Following a falling out with the manager, a lengthy injury, a car accident after leaving a nightclub drawing the small hours during recovery, being linked with a return to Gremio, Anderson has finally got his place back in the team and has been performing well. His inclusion should only have a positive on Darren Fletcher and Michael Carrick, who have been struggling for form over the past few months at least, with competition for places increasing.
Anderson is very happy to have signed the new contract, believing this is the best place to be.
“This is the best club to be at and I would like to thank everyone for the great support I have received over the years,” Anderson said. “I am looking forward to winning many more trophies with this club and I am so pleased to have signed a new contract.”

Great news. Was convinved he would be on his way in jan but fair play to the lad he has been suoerb these last few games. After the embarrassing myself in 2005 when i said Fergy had to go i became a lot more careful. During the difficult autumn days it started to become pretty obvious that if not this year the next season would be ours.
anderson has “finally”got it as did nani at the turn of the year he has grasped the chance and is getting back to the early form when he arrived on the scene give the lad a chance and to be honest he has turned up at the right time me thinks fletcher is on the wain at the moment but im a believer in what goes around comes around

Thought he had the potential to win the Ballon d’Or seeing his first season with us..then he went AWOL and got fucked up…bad knee injury and The Gaffer played him outta position as a defensive midfielder. Fair play to him, came back from injury, an accident and being out of favour and has been performing well. A little premature in my opinion but if it helps him move and and play well consistently, then good job.

The ‘best’ midfielders of the premier league are the ones which score the goals and get the headlines, it’s why Fat Lampard, Stevie Me and Fabregas get all the plaudits. It’s why their held in such high regard by the media and why players like Ando are overlooked and not considered ‘complete midfielders’.
Ando just needs to start doing the same thing, it’s not like he doesn’t get in shooting positions or get presented with clear goal scoring opportunities, it’s just for one reason or another he doesn’t seem to stick it away. Compare that to Darron Gibson who is a far lesser midfieder than Ando, but with a far better shot, it’s somewhat frustrating!
