Now I thought we were on to something when news broke that Mark Hughes was interesting in signing Mikael Silvestre, but now it appears that cheeky smiling Arsene Wenger is after him.
“Arsene has been looking for experienced cover for Gael Clichy and he knows all about Mikael,” said an Arsenal source. “Arsene has followed his career with France and at United and the fact he is French is a bonus.”
Now we all know Wenger loves his French players, so it’s not completely outlandish to imagine that he’d be interested in Silvestre. However, it certainly suggests something about Wenger’s aspirations if he believes Silvestre is an answer to their problems.
Wenger talks about the money Arsenal have to repay thanks to their new stadium, but if we’re honest, it’s less than what the Glazers are paying off to the debt collectors. With the similar incomes of the two clubs, either Wenger is being dishonest about his cheque book or the club aren’t giving the manager what he needs.
But if Wenger believes that Silvestre has something to offer, particularly at the transfer fee which will apparently be less than £1 million, then I am more than happy to see him make a go of it. I thought the image of Silvestre in a City shirt was funny enough, but an Arsenal shirt is even better! Mikael, playing ‘beautiful football’? Quality.
Some reports suggest that Sunderland are the most likely destination for Silvestre, but I suppose it really is anyone’s guess.
So what do you prefer? Silvestre to City, Sunderland or Arsenal?

Man Utd News 24/7

As a arsenal fan, there are alot better players than him.would be a real bad deal
If we sell then we are left a little light in the centre of defense with regards to cover. O’Shea and Brown, and if Wes is playing @ right back we are short. Plus @ left back we only have O’Shea and Fabio, Ok the Brazilian looks promising but if we get a long term injury to Evra then its a lot to ask of him.
Maybe you should keep him and stick him up front.
Might have solved your problems the other day when a 5ft 8inch and 57 year old Nigerian leaped above your defenders to score…
is silvestre considered to be a shite player by united fans? as I gooner I always thought he was better than Brown or our Senderos. Tell me if I am wrong.
HA HA HA HA. Where is your great squad now??
It makes sense, hes hardly likely to be a regular at Arsenal coming from inferior stock but we could do with someone to clean Gallas’ boots. Judging by Man U’s performance on Sunday they could do with keeping him as their squad is looking thin.
Silvestre must be sixth choice centre half after ferdinand, vidic, brown, evans, and O’shea, and fourth choice left back after evra, o’shea and Fabio. Maybe it’s time to just get rid of him. The prospect of him playing for Arsenal Just gives me a warm feeling inside. He just wasn’t good enough for utd at the peak of his career, so I wonder what on earth Wenger thinks he’s doing.
Mikael Silvestre 362 games too many for man utd.
You discredited yourself completely by linking to tribalfootball. For shame!
Silvestre is still much better than O’Shea. Silvestre is much quicker, stronger, and much more aggressive. Even though O’Shea can play in many positions, none is great or good enough for the Red Devils.
In my opinion, United should get rid off O’ Shea, Saha, and Park. And then loan out our new kids like Cambell, Possebon, etc. for their experience. We should bring in 2 more new quality strikers as at the moment we’ve got only 2 (Rooney & Tevez). Then bringing in one more quility defender (Anthon Ferdinand should be a good option) as we’ve already lost Pique.
Silvestre has been a good player for us and was excellent against Chelsea last year………so thank you Mickel…………but is there any chance Arsene that you could take Saha as well……it’s just we have so many injuries at the moment …we need his bed in the treatment room!
P.S Arsenal fans Mickel is still better than Senderos…….and has a better temperament than that nutter GALLAS
Rumour has it that he HAS signed for Arsenal now. the deal is done. As backup its a good deal. if it stops the development of Djourou at centre back then its not. but pure backup to Clichy then fine by me. imagine him scoring against united or even setting one up. mind you, also imagine him letting Rooney by a bit too easily to score! I’m sure Senderos’ position is at risk.
heh yea, i cant believe this shit, seems like Fergie is trying to fuck us up from the inside out …. the cunning
I wish we had won as many things as Arsenal over the past 3 years. He will probably play for a season and fuck off with Flamani, Hleb to a club where he can win things, good old Arsenal buying our rejects is that what it has come to boys?, how the mighty have fallen.
I think Silvestre was a good player for Utd, but we need to bring the young guns on. However, if Arsenal buy him, he may come back and bite our Arse. Sell him but not to Arsenal. City can have him.
It’s not what Silvestre can bring to Arsenal, but the fact he maybe able to free up Kolo Toure and we can play Kolo alongside Fabregas which could turn out to be one of the most awesome central midfield partnerships in the world. Typical myopic, shortsighted prawn munchers view.
SMUG
lol@prawn munchers from the london luvvy clu.
do us all a favour and tell us how much you havent spendin recent years!
I await tom “lofty” watts or nick hornby to start waxing lyrical about your flowing football anytime soon
kolo can’t pass water stick him in midfield and well all have a good laugh,
isn’t silvestre a bit old for arsene to sign?
ah the hypocrisy – as soon as a player decides to leave, he becomes a reject, shit player. It is a trait common to many a fans, just like we have a group of those who say Hleb and/or Flamini were shit.
Silvestre (whom I have disliked throughout the years) will be back up to the best left-back in the league, and provide experience as a back-up for our CBs. It will also allow Traore to get a loan move and acquire first team experience, give AW an insight of what Fergie’s been preparing tactically this year etc.
For 750k, I’m fully in support of this move, thank you.
Good to see United fans overlooking the ever-tenuous opportunity to add another scorn-laden and smug “article” about Arsenal to praise and say thank you and goodbye to a departing player. Sterling stuff as always Republic of Mancunia, you are a beacon amidst the dark puerility of football supporters.
I’m back again, to compliment you guys further on a sublime site biog. For other visitors:
‘The “Republik of Mancunia” attitude developed for several reasons. Firstly, the idea of Mancunian pride, which can be seen in other areas of culture associated with Manchester, not just football. Also, because Manchester United fans feel as though the players and fans of their club are treated unfairly by the English press and English football fans, now, and in the past. To call themselves Mancunian, and claim they are from the “Republik of Mancunia”, and not English, is showing this displeasure with what they regard unfair treatment.’
Wonderfully myopic, self-righteous siege mentality. I always thought that you guys were being self-deprecating the whole time, but you actually genuinely buy into this whole thing don’t you?
You’ve brightenmed up my morning guys, thank you.
“”"”"Mikael, playing ‘beautiful football’?”"”"”"”
At least you admit we play beautiful foolball my Arsenal adoring Mancunian friend……………..
so does that mean the legions of southeners who support united all with their own excuses “my siste’s ex boyfriend once took a train that stopped in Manchester, so i’ve got every reason to support united” are unwelcome in the republic of mancunia?
well said Jeoff, they can stick their well laid accusations up their well laid arses.
he will be great back up if we take him.
ManUre – jog on mancs or stick to the national pastime of the alleged “republiC of Mancunia”, stealing hubcaps and stereos
cesc’d, er we are from Manchester not Liverpool.
I think that Silvestre gave us years of loyal, decent service but now he’s being signed by Arsenal I’m going to pretend I think he’s a cunt as that is, in actual fact, what I am. And I say that from the security of my office on the 5th floor of a London based office. In Gresham Street. Quite near St. Pauls. You can’t miss it. Schroders.
Given that Arsenal owe only 340 million and Man Utd owe twice that, I do not understand your comments that Arsenal are paying more on their debt…….Oh hang on that’s right! I forgot that Man utd havent been paying anything off on their debts because they are broke and even being sued by Moscow Transport for unpaid bills so I suppose you are right. Arsenal are in point of fact paying more towards their debts than Man Utd.
Clever of you to notice.
I dont think there is any truth in this story. Scott your a bit harsh on Silvestre. When he first signed in 99 he had some concentration problems but after his first season he really settled in and for 3 or 4 seasons he was fantastic for us at left back. Injuries and age have caught up with him and hes a shadow of his former self now but he has been a good servant to United.
Scott the Red, you forgot a third alternative re Arsenal having a similar income to Man Utd. Has it never crossed your mind that our manager is spending more than he should; that Man Utd as a club is not financially sound? I’m afraid our club will be in seriously financial difficulties soon and I rather saw us spending less while bringin through youth like Wenger does.
cant we chuck fletcher in as well?
Kris – whilst Arsenal fans bleat about how proud they are about Wenger ‘bringing through youth’ and not spending much, they’d swap it all for the Champions League and league titles. Their trophy cabinet has been empty for three years, whilst ours has seen the Premiership two years running and European Cup. They can say what they want, but they have been ‘in transition’ for 4 years now, and they’ll be lucky to finish in the top 4 this season, let alone challenge for the title. But that is better, because Wenger builds teams… teams that win fuck all.
Wenger builds teams, then the players leave…….
Ha ha ha. Off you pop to Arsenal, Mikael
While I really like mikky as a club loyalyist and years ago as a good player, in recent times anytime he’s near the ball I get very nervous. I wouldn’t mind seeing him go to Arsenal, who could’ve thought you could actually make THAT defense shakier? I would prefer he goes to Sunderland, though, so I can still like him. I can’t wait to see the Arsenal house of cards fall down again this season, maybe even to 5th place.
and I rather saw us spending less while bringin through youth like Wenger does.
but we are winning things wenger isn’t thats the difference
I would rather our club won nothing now but be around to win things in the future. Man U’s ostrich strategy of buying big to keep winning whilst trying to run away from their huge debts seems somewhat greedy & risky.
Ah Scott’s true agenda comes to the fore, good work that man.
”whilst Arsenal fans bleat about how proud they are about Wenger ‘bringing through youth’ and not spending much, they’d swap it all for the Champions League and league titles. Their trophy cabinet has been empty for three years, whilst ours has seen the Premiership two years running and European Cup. They can say what they want, but they have been ‘in transition’ for 4 years now, and they’ll be lucky to finish in the top 4 this season, let alone challenge for the title. But that is better, because Wenger builds teams… teams that win fuck all.”
oh my GoD stop all train in Moscow!!!
Here Comes Leeds Part 2!!!
fuckin fools
or should i say liverpool
win for now and talk about when you where kings for 100 years to come
death to man utd.
LONG LIVE ARSENAL
I for one am astounded that we are signing Silvestre! however if it proves to be true a quick breakdown is this, our squad is small and inexperienced, no 2 ways about it Sylvestre is coming from a succesful backround at utd and will add to our small squad, provide useful cover for our backline, as well as have a positive influence on our young players and all at a tiny sum in the grand scheme of football finance, i believe £750,000! his wage apparently will sit at £50,000 per week! well that’s ok by me we are getting something we need and leaves mr Wenger with a sizeable spending kitty to buy yet another player. Now if this defender is really that rubbish and a reject and never wanted by you lot! Then why hang on to him for almost 10 years? You perhaps should have sold him when you could have got more money for him! Also, given Wenger’s track record and ability to spot something he needs in a player, do you all really believe that your opinion of Sylvestre is better than his, bearing in mind no player can join Arsenal unless they pass our fitness test, and no player gets to play if at all injured, why would he sign him? Let’s face it! it’s a shrewd move by the frenchman.
Me Me: I didnt realise you had access to the books at United. What makes you think were going to go like Leeds? The Glazers are astute business men, virtually every club operates in debt pal. The difference between United and Leeds is that United can fund themselfs unlike Leeds.
As for Mattuso claiming United buy big to win things well lets just go back 2 seasons. Start of the 2006/07 season United sold Ruud for 10 million, got 12 million for Mikel and spent 17.5 million on Carrick. Thats 4 and a half million made and we only went and reached the fa cup final, champions league semi final and won the premiership. So that just about squashes your argument on United buying titles! As for last season that was money well spent by Fergie, because we won the trophies to back it up!
gary: you talk about the glazers are astute business men, ok if that means buying a club for shit lot of money by borrowing from the bank with out knowing what the future bring (Credit Crunch) now to pay for it is to bring a cup every season. you do your maths and good lucky
Me Me: The Glazers didnt go into buying United without even considering the prospect of a recession in the country at some point. They are extremely successfull business men and not idiots.
We need to win something every season to keep us from going under do we? Thats guess work and hopefull thinking on your part just because Leeds went under doesnt mean we are, United have far more income than Leeds.
I feel so squashed now! But I will cheer myself up by laughing at any club that spends 17.5m for Carrick. Its funny that during your crushing argument you fail to mention Rooney (31m incl. all the bonuses), Anderson (18m), Hargreaves (18m), ferdinand (30m) or how you spent 13m on Saha! As for how you know the Glazers are astute business men, I will have to take your word for that, time will tell, I see no evidence to prove it.
HaHa, Mattuso how was Jeffers, Wiltord for you?
The third comment, from Steve: Maybe you should keep him and stick him up front.
Thats actually funny. Well done!
Mattuso – what is your point? United have spent a lot of money and won a lot of trophies? Arsenal haven’t spent a lot of money and haven’t won a lot of trophies? Well good for you!
Michael Carrick has two more league titles and one more European Cup winners medals that Fabregas. You’re right, that is funny.
Mattusso….come on man, THINK before writing such stupid shit. In two years with the club, what has Carrick won???? Oh thats right, the league twice and Europe once…..thats not too bad of a return now is it? Cant do much better than that me thinks. But oh yes, only because of ronaldo. The center of midfield isnt important to the success or failure of a team at all. Good point.
What do you Arsenal fans think, ah we are producing all these great young players and selling them at a profit, thats brilliant business!! I know we win fuck all but look how shrued we are!!
I thought that sort of mind set was associated with the other team from North London, who by chance also win fuck all, but more than you recently.
Wiltord if I remember correctly scored the goal that won us the title at your place. Jeffers well…fair point, he was our Saha. I’m not disputing that Carrick has been in the same team that has won lots of trophies but my point is that he cost £17.5m for a bench warmer and that amuses me. I think the main point is not what you’ve won but what it will cost you in the long run. The short term gain is not worth threatening the survival of your club which is in danger but you lot cant see it.
Saha has 28 goals in 86 games, not fantastic but not bad, and we paid less for him than Wiltord and Wiltord went on a free @ a loss of £13m.
Mattuso – bench warmer? Carrick?
Wes Brown (36 league games), Rio Ferdinand (35 league games)… Michael Carrick (31 league games)
Come back when you have a fucking clue eh, and we’ll be more than happy to have a decent discussion.
“HaHa, Mattuso how was Jeffers, Wiltord for you?” is funny you say dat
how About a play you sign from italy for 19m hr er ar come on stephen help me out it start with V he ere ar ??????!!!!!!
you fuckin fish!!
Decent discussion indeed. If you’re only interested in petty Arsenal sniping at every opportunity then do you truly expect interesting debate Scott?
Scott the fish you amaze me you write you blog like a a** kid then make comment like a DUMD FISH
this is another good one from the dick call stephon
“Saha has 28 goals in 86 games, not fantastic but not bad, and we paid less for him than Wiltord and Wiltord went on a free @ a loss of £13m.”
remember 2002 in OT. I will take a 13m loss for that
this season is the year lady luck will run out of magic for the man u.
tell me some thing how come you hardly win your open match with play worth about £200m
“Come back when you have a fucking clue eh, and we’ll be more than happy to have a decent discussion.” Your idea of a discussion is one thats goes “Man U are amazing”, “Oh yes I agree they are the best”,”Oh yes arent we just”. Stop avoiding the subject which is Man U are in dire financial straits because they whored themselves to the yankie dollar. When you face up to the truth rather than constantly moaning about Arsenal then we can have a proper adult conversation. eh? whats your point? isnt a decent discussion mate, its childs talk.
Mattuso: You are a complete tit. I did mention the money spent on Hargreaves, Anderson and Nani and like I said we backed it up by winning the biggest trophies in club football.
Fabregas isnt going to hang around much longer if you keep winning sod all. It may have been 4 points last season but really it was bigger than that. I never doubted that Arsenal would crack, Wenger lets pressure get to him these days and that spills over onto his players. He publicly backed Gallas for acting like a 5 year old on the pitch and even kept him as captain! If Rio sat on the half way line and cried because a penalty had been given against United Fergie would kick his arse! Wenger is a great manager but hes never been the same since we ended your 49 game unbeaten run, thats the day Arsenal and Wenger finally cracked!
Name me a manager who doesnt make a signing that doesnt work out!? Just look at some of Wengers! Reyes, Wiltord, Jeffers, Cygan, Vivas, Van Bronkhurst and of course arguably the biggest twat playing in the premiership, yes you guessed it Eboue! If you think your going to challenge for the title with Eboue playing right wing then your a fool.
Ferguson does not care for the future of Manchester united, whether there still is a manchester united in 15 years, 30 years, 60 years. All he cares about is improving his own legacy and making his own feats more unassailable even if it is to the future detriment of this great club.
Gary – Your not looking at the whole picture the money Manchester united have spent and overpaid over the past seasons is astronomical, Veron-£28million, Ferdinand-£33million, Rooney-£31million, Carrick-£19million, Hargreaves-£17million, Nani-£17million, Anderson-£18million, and soon to be Tevez. So yes the club has bought success at least to some extent while putting itself into debt.
Mattuso – my idea of a good discussion is one that is based on fact, rather than fabricated nonsense. You said Carrick was a bench warmer, that is bollocks, unless you’d say that Fabregas, who played in just 1 more league game than Carrick last season, is also a bench warmer. So if you want to have a proper discussion, talk about things that are true, rather than shit you’ve made up in your own head to suit your argument, and I’ll be more than happy to respond. Until then, give it up.
And I’m not moaning about Arsenal. What is there to moan about? I think it’s bloody marvellous that Arsenal haven’t won anything for three years whilst we’ve won two league titles and the European Cup. And I think it would be bloody marvellous if Wenger wants to sign Silvestre, hilarious in fact.
Piola Vago – the key word in your argument was success, something United have enjoyed plenty of, whilst Arsenal have been battling to keep their top 4 status.
Gary you talk about player like Reyes, Wiltord, Jeffers, Cygan, Vivas, and Van Bronkhurst. Hmm the point is we sold then and made more money from them BITCH
Me Me can you speak English?
Gary, whats wrong with man u fans that they have to call everone names. Cant you have a reasoned debate like human beings? I dont remember reading you mentioning Nani or Hargreaves. I dont remember mentioning Eboue or us winning the league and I admire you psychic powers being able to predict what Fabregas is going to do. Its so rare that you get penalties awarded against you that we dont really know how your players would act. I daresay it would involve surrounding the ref and shouting at him.
I will try after a class with your mum and sister
Mattuso, your disciplinary record under Wenger is impeccable, is so don’t go on about us and referees, idiot.
Very intelligent Me Me.
thank you Stephen i learn that from you mum!!
Oh dear.
no i will leave it to fergie to go on about referees. he does so regularly and never gets punished for it.
Wenger never sees any incident does he? Never has a go at a referee, whatever? get a better argument, thats weak.
Me Me you are certainly the brains of the outfit aren’t you, Mattuso you must be proud of that support.
I agree Wenger does go on about referees but it usually involves being punished by the FA and thats the difference. Me Me is entitled to his viewpoint, its not the same as mine but thats him and I’m me. As usual, this discussion has lost its way. Silvestre has been a useful squad player for you and could be for us. Its shrewd business. Your club needs the money and we need a useful squad player.
£750k will not touch the sides with us!! He has been a liability especially at centre back, to be honest and I am glad to see the back of him.
Me Me ha ha you are comedy!!
Mattuso: Penalties not being awarded against United? Erm lets see I seem to remember Roma getting an extremely dodgy penalty at the Stretford end in April. I also recall another dubious penalty awarded agains Carrick away to Chelsea also in April! Im suprsied you dont remember Arsenal getting a penalty at Old Trafford last season, which Gilberto missed. Bolton also got a joke penalty against us that season at Old Trafford. Just how many penalties do you want to be awarded against us? This is just a pathetic and very unoriginal clichy that you dont get penalties against United. How many penalties do Arsenal get given against them at the Emirates??? Not alot either!
I also seem to remember in 1999 the ref did his best to try and win Arsenal a consolation trophy in the fa cup by denying Roy Keane a perfectly good goal in the fa cup semi final, not too worry we still overcame you in the replay with 10 men and oh dear I mention it A PENALTY for Arsenal which once again you missed in that match. The rest is history! United treble 1999.
let be real you guys where lucky last season! good on you.
but if we spent the way you lot do then that is a definite other show.
so may be when man utd start paying the cost of this run you have had. may be will we start enjoy ours
and to be compete honest with you i think Mikael is a shit player and i will be piss if he sign for arsenal which i think is another newspaper makeup
Me Me: I didnt understand a word of what you just said? The only thing I made out was that we were apperently lucky last season. All I can say is long may this luck continue! You need a great squad to win the double but you also need luck.
am not saying that we will win anything this season(arsenal) but i just hate you guys
What do you muppets know about our so called debt..the leverage and how we’re paying it and our financial situation. UTD are healthy…debt is manageable…our revenue streams are brilliant….turnover is increasing every year…more winners money ( something you wouldnt know about ). overheads compared to net profit increasing year on year. Our wages have dropped…whilst profit this year is up 11%. So by 2011-12…we’ll be on target to meet our requirements and pay the interest off.
We are the most successful commercial revenue producing sports franchise in the world.
So stop making fucking illiterate comments..’ leeds utd’ debt this and debt that”
You fucking know bollocks you fuckin gunners….keep playing with your kids and winning SHIT ALL
LET THE BIG BOYS DO WHAT THEY DO….WIN TROPHIES.
YOU ARE THE WORLD FEEDER CLUB LOL
how about this gary, it pay the cost to be the boss
but for how long the way your finance is going day by day.
by the way have you pay off Carlos Tevez fee
“We are the most successful commercial revenue producing sports franchise in the world.”
who the FUCK TOLD YOU THAT
Finally, ME ME, I understand where all that hatred comes from… deep down you know your squad will win nothing this season while ours probably will, so you decide to hate us for it. Well, that’s life!! If you guys wanted to win something, you would prepare better and get the right players and stop using ‘transition’, ‘immature kids’ and ‘beautiful football’ as excuses for your team’s failings.
Wenger is smart, but his youth program is imploding in arsenal’s face but he is too proud or scared to change it. If arsenal fans cannot see it, then i guess he will continue to use those excuses whenever he fails to claim silverware.
suhayl go play with the toys daddy got for you and shut da fuck up or go back to sleep you fish
oh Gabriel am not mad! we won our open match you lot couldn’t.
so am not mad. and WHO THE FUCK SAY MAN UTD WILL WIN A CUP THIS SEASON. bitch
Arsenal 1 – 0 WBA
Chelsea 4 – 0 Portsmouth
man utd 1 – 1 Newcastle United
oh sorry
Sunderland 0 – 1 Liverpool
Middlesbrough 2 – 1 Tottenham Hotspur
ME ME, actually we were recently credited with being the richest football club in the world and have been in the top three for quite sometime. That kind of feat doesn’t happen unless we produce a lot of revenue; be it through trophy winning money, commercial revenue, or ticket sales.
We are the best at doing this, and as most of you are quick to point out, we do have a sizeable wage bill and for us to still be the richest club in world football, it must mean our revenue is massive!!1
last time I check which was 30 sec ago Real Madrid is better then you lot
and we(arsenal) make £3m a year from our gate money which is the best in the world and do it with 60,000 sits
me me, go to forbes.com, then to lists, then to richest soccer teams and you will see Manchester United sitting comfortably on top of the pile. Like I said in my post earlier, commercial revenue isn’t only about ticket sales, there’s merchandise, tv rights, sponsorhips etc. If you can’t understand that, then tough.
Stop trying to pick irrelevant snippets of facts while ignoring the truth that Manchester United is the richest and most successful revenue producing club in world football at the moment!
shut up mate Forbes.com need to be updated
I cease to continue engaging your mindless drivel, as you are spurred by hatred and will see nothing else, even the truth.
A poignant post Gabriel, this site would do well to heed it.
Whatever Gabriel. What kind of name is That anyway.
Look you guys are da dogs shit when it comes to money.
but good luck this season mate.
that is if lady luck haven’t run away from you lot.
Gabriel you love your team, I love mine so there no way am going to sit back why you lot have all the fun is as simple as that, take care of yourself and your family and god bless but remember Nov 8th WE MEET AGAIN. so till then stay cool.
you watch the Olympics? or the England match to night
Its concrete lads. Breaking news. Silvestre signs for Arseholes
Wow Me Me is an idiot, but hey don’t feel bad, its not surprising, all Farcenal fans tend to talk from their behind and spew sh!t, just like you’re doing now.
Farcenal fans are so DAFT, even believing a word of what the press is saying, he(Fergie, for the slow minded Farcenal fans) didn’t sell Henize to Liverpool and will NOT be selling Silvestre to you Ar*e lovers. I’m disappointed in Scott, that in his blind dislike for SIlvestre, he’d rather see him go to Arsenal and PROBABLY improve them. Anyway, I’d rather he go to City or Sunderland(which I’m sure is where he’ll end up), than come to the foreigners at London.
OTRed: Silvestre has signed for Arsenal. The move is done.
ANY WAY GUYS THANK YOU FOR THE BUSINESS THIS IS THE START OF MANY TO SORT OUT YOUR DERT
DEATH TO man utd

hay guys not bad ah not bad
Whats’s a dert?
i LOVE YOU GUYS
ho lo ho lo ho lo ho lo S-i-l-v-e-s-t-r-e ho lo ho lo ho lo
Well he did and I am disappointed. Not to lose Sylvestre but helping Arsenal is ridiculous. Why help make them better is beyond me, anyone care to try and explain?
In the U.S. we just say Brett Farve ask to join the Vikings and being told no, he had to leave the conference. (While I realize Brett is a better performer in his sport, somewhat similar situation.) Why not sell outside of England or to a non-rival EPL team? Hard for me to comprehend.
how about sara
Kevin i feel for you is like when an arsenal player went to utd! wait hold up how is Patrick Vieira doing???!!!!???
Mikael said on signing for the Gunners: “I’ve spent a large part of my career at United, the last nine years, and I’ll remember that time fondly but feel I’m ready for a new challenge. Arsenal is known for playing technical and skilful football, and has a young but experienced squad. I’m really excited about this next stage of my career, hopefully playing my part in helping the Club to new successes
Arsenal have secured the signature of Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre for a fee rumoured to be in the region of £750,000.
The 31-year-old has played over 249 games for the Premier League champions and has surprising swapped Manchester for north London.
Silvestre was reportedly undergoing a medical at bitter neighbours Man City last night when his agent phoned him to say that Arsenal had an interest in him.
According to The Sun, Mikaël immediately abandoned the medical and hurtled down the M1 to meet Gunners boss Wenger and discuss terms.
Me Me: The way you are going on you would have thought you had just signed Ronaldo! You have signed injury prone Mikel Silvestre whos best days are behind him. We have Patrice Evra, O’ Shea and the Brazil under 19 captain Fabio Da Silva. So were covered for left backs. No great loss!
gary the way YOU are going on is like your ABOUT to cry dat a man u player which you think you never see in your life time has gone to Arsenal!!
Once again I didnt understand a word you said? “a man u player which you think you never see in your life time has gone to Arsenal!!”
What????????????
Yea I am really going to lose sleep over losing Mikael Silvestre to Arsenal. How will us reds cope without him!
Why does anyone really care about this signing either way? It’ll only be a bad signing if he goes into the first eleven everytime. Man U are the most successful English club in recent history, they have spent a lot and won a lot. However, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham have spent a lot too. Spending big sums isn’t everything.
Three years is not that long to go without winning something, that’s only one more year than Utd just done not too long ago (I’m sure our longest period is about 16 years – which will NEVER happen again). I will not be happy just to win something, I want to win everything. Anyway, we’ll see what happens after this and how the season plays out. I don’t think this will be the last surprise of the season somehow.
