Arsenal Flop: We Will Be In The Final

Nicklas Bendtner, who is Mr Unpopular at Arsenal it seems, has today claimed that despite a defeat at Old Trafford, is certain his team will be in the final.

Arsenal had just one shot on target in 90 minutes and that came in the first half, a tame effort from Cesc Fabregas that went straight to the keeper. Obviously will have to do a lot better at home, particularly when you consider a goal for United means they will have to score three!

“I am 100 per cent sure that we will pass through to the final,” he said. “Of course you never feel good after a defeat but we look positive at the return game. I am confident that we will play in the final.”

The only way arsenal can win is if we don’t show up.

  2. costas says:

Let’s just get Rio fit and we will be ok.

Let him talk crap!! After getting away with that abysmal performance, I knew this crap will come out of your stinkin mouth! Almunia shld be the one doing the talking for you and the bar

I think you are right- would love to say otherwise but saw nothing what so ever to suggest we could get through your defence at the Emerites. We played virtually the same team which did not show up against Chelsea at Wembley and guess what, they were crap again. Even if they don’t match up they could have worked harder. What is sad for us is that you do not even have to play especially well to beat us.
For us there is next year and the next and the next. For you there is next year only- make the most of it.

i am a gooner but i am absolutely disgusted with our performance. talking talent, techniques, skills, i honestly dont think we are that far off man utd but talking commitment, spirit, hunger, we are nowhere near them. we seriously need to address that.
well done to all man utd fans because you sang your heart out. i did not have the priviledge to go to the match but i watched it live on tv. i felt like i shrunk by 50cm when two teams marched into the stadium. i would have been very much intimidated by the atmosphere if i was one of our players today. lets hope that those gooners who will be attending the 2nd leg will emulate the effort that we saw in old trafford.
if we want to go through, we will need all our players to put in 110% effort, especially that lazy lazy adebayor. perhaps its a good thing going into the second leg with slight disadvantage because we have seen how dreadful our performance was when we went into second leg with slender advantage. i am one of those rare sensible fans and i won’t be saying things like what bendtner has just said but i do believe the tie is still very much open and i am sure it will be a very good game at the emirates.

ya ya, u guys may be at very good position, but remember this

100% sure? Not a shadow of a doubt? How old is this boy? 10 perhaps? Didn’t he watch the game yesterday?

  9. islington gooner says:

wait to you come the grove and still see if you arrogant monkeys are still talking the same, you played at you home and only won 1-0, trust me wait to what we dish out at the grove, you can talk all the crap about arsenal atmosphere but wait till tuesday.

  10. Bob says:

I suppose Bendtner should apologise for being optimistic and just come out and say ‘We shouldn’t even have a game at the Emirates, let’s just hand qualification over to Man Utd right now.’

  11. King Eric says:

Typical smug arrogant Arsenal cunt. United are going through all the way. Fletch Carrick and Ando ran the show last night. UNITED!

  12. costas says:

They have 3 reasons why they can be optimistic:the doubt about Rio,Van Persie’s return and the fact that they can’t be as bad as last night.United have to score first at the Emirates.

  13. ben says:

Correct me if I’m wrong, but haven’t we scored every time we’ve played at the emirates? They must be confident if they think they can score 3!

  14. corea says:

    costas

not have to but maybe ought to score first ;)
be more possitive. i will handle RvP.

    We have Johny Evans
    We have Johny Evans

  15. costas says:

Corea Jonny has impressed me a lot.He won’t be intimidated by the occasion that’s for sure. And as i have already said, look at our 3 results at the Emirates:Any one of them would see us through.

  16. corea says:

i was so angry during the game and disappointed after it..
i was sure that will score again. i don’t know what was the point of playing football after the 17th minute. the whole game ahead of us.

  17. Mic says:

This guy who didn’t know who Arshavin was? Shows what he knows, even if he was misquoted!

  18. daveob82 says:

This guy should really stop drawing attention to himself…….
If he kept his mouth shut nobody would have heard of him but because he always has something to say we all know he is “that mouthy rubbish striker??? at Arsenal with the pink boots.”

  19. Trevor says:

what final? Does he play subbuteo? Or is it table football?
