Arsenal Striker: Watching Ronaldo Is Like Playing PlayStation

AdebayorArsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor currently has 19 league goals to his name, topping the goalscoring table this season along with our winger, Cristiano Ronaldo. The only goalscorers to come in touching distance of these two are Spurs’ Robbie Keane, City’s Benjani and Liverpool’s Torres. It therefore looks as though Arsenal and United are not only competing for the league title, but for the player who will achieve this season’s golden boot. The European golden boot is also something these players are targeting.

Serie A’s top scorer is currently Juventus’ David Trezeguet with 15 goals, Bayern Munich’s Toni tops the leaderboard in the Bundesliga with 10 goals, Sevilla’s Luís Fabiano has 16, and finally, Lyon’s Karim Benzema, a reported transfer target for United, has 16 goals in Ligue 1.

Adebayor has today spoken of his admiration for Ronaldo, claiming he is a player he likes to watch and has respect for. “He is a player I like to watch,” Adebayor told the club’s official website. “He has a lot of quality and watching him is like watching something else, it is like playing on the PlayStation sometimes. He is an amazing footballer and I show him a lot of respect for what he has done this season. There are not a lot of players, especially midfielders who can achieve what he has achieved.”

Who will claim this season’s golden boot?

    I hope Ade does it!!
Ronaldo seems to have gone off the boil a bit of late.
I was releived when Ade scored at the end of the Blackburn game as it means he keeps his confidence sky high!

I’d love to see him with the Golden Boot and the Premiership Trophy!!!

I think Adebayor will win the golden boot, but United will win the Prem! :-D

Ade will win the Golden Boot. Ronaldo has been quiet over the last 2 games – may that long continue. And Gunners will win the premiership as well.

Ade scored a cracker against Blackburn, he is the player I wanted to join United and he is proving just why. I do believe he will score most league goals but Ronaldo will score more goals in all competitions, including the FA Cup run…

However it will be accurate for a striker to score more goals than a winger so I am not too concerned, as long as the other players balance out goals between them. I laugh at the comment of Ronaldo being quiet for 2 games, well scoring 27 goals in 25 games (or thereabouts) does entitle you to a couple of quiet games.

Adebayor has the advantage, playing as sole striker and tending to go central when numbers come in attack (unlike say Rooney who might be pulled wide and feeding others). He is in the mix on receiving end for set pieces but doesn’t take freekicks or penalties.

Ronaldo does cut centrally for taking shots at goal and is involved in freekicks, setpieces for headers and taking penalties. So he will continue to have to keep up with Adebayor.

I think the former would win, because of more fluidity in his team compared to ours and expect them to score more regularly/per game.
