What on earth is wrong with putting your country before your club? Playing for your country is the greatest honour of all.

It is this lack of passion why England have not won anything since 66. Beckham is one of very few who actually love their country and some of you hold that against him? Football could learn so much from rugby union.

The guy loves united but he also loves England and wants to play in the next world cup. Leave the guy alone, he is one of the most commited footballers you will ever see. (remember his reaction when dropped by England and those scum from madrid?)

If he were to play against him then I for one would cheer him. So what about his celebrity status?

Haiz,his just a twat…Beckham in the back old days was nice because the premier league was slow and simply average..IF he comes back to premier league,he would’nt be able to walk let alone run or swing cross..He be swinging those cross from up the pitch..His good but not that good,but i will admit i respect for what he has done to united like everyone before him(schmeichel,mark hughes,Sheringham,tevez,Ronaldo…)Thanks for ur service but we would’nt be cheering your name if we ever meet again..

I dont really agree with in most parts with yoru article.

Becks has always said he would return to united as first choice. That will now never happen, mainly because he is not good enough.

Why should it irratate you because he Trained with Arsenal?….. Does it matter? I could understand if Fergie said Becks Come train with us, And whinger said No Becks come train with Us and becks went to arsenal!!>…… That didnt happen!

There is truth that his Contract Negotiations did drag on during his last year and i honestly feel that he got by far on the wrong side of fergusion that their relationship was at a stage were it wasnt worth continuing…… So united sold him to Real for 20 mil and the rest is history!

During his time at Real he has Spoken Fondly about United & Fergusion. He hasnt publicly came out and slagged fergie off like an Argie twat we all know!

With regards to his situation, Things Chance, Circumstances Change!.

Scott, this seems to be the one topic i will disagree with you on. David Beckham gave United a decade of service, after which both him and Sir Alex realized that it was time to move on. Not once has he criticized the club after leaving. In fact, its always been the opposite. He has been full of praise for the club and manager that made him who he is. He has not stated that he will definitely come back to a Premier League team. All he has said is he will keep his options open. Aged 34, with the world cup next year, i think that is entirely understandable. Im sure he wont join a City or Liverpool, because he still holds United and the supporters in the highest regard.
As for training with Arsenal – look, again he needed some match practice or training, to stay in the English squad, and its not like United or any other club offered to let him train. What was he supposed to do?! not play train?
Lets just look back at Beckham’s time here, and appreciate what he did for us, the same way he appreciates us.
After ten years of service, I think him merely stating that he wouldnt rule out a return to the Premier League should not tarnish our views for the lad.

Well said Scott. I have said to so many people that towards the end of his career his heart was not at United and I was glad to see the back of him. My 3 reasons for this is as follows:

1. He took over a year to sign a new contract because of a disagreement over his image rights.
2. Putting country before club
3. His celebrity status

Now he’s declaring his interest at playing for another English club, added to the fact that he trained with Arsenal. Fuck you you wanker.

Becks is coming to the end of his career and probably thinking out loud. The Great Dane, Andy Cole, Teddy Sheringham, Yorkie etc all played for another team in the prem against us and no one slags them.Beckhams corners won the game in ’99 so he is a legend and we shouldn’t be too hard on him. But, if he goes to shitty he’s just another mouth, there is a limit to what fans will take.
