David Beckham grew up as a Manchester United fan in Chingford but says he wasn’t bothered about supporting a team from a different city. His parents were mad United fans, who used to make the journey from London to watch them play, and so Beckham grew up of dreaming for our club.
“I used to get a bit of stick but I wasn’t too bothered about being an East end boy and being a United fan. My dad was a United fan and my grandad was a Tottenham fan, but I’ve watched United since I was six years old with my dad, watching Bryan Robson play, and it was always my dream to play for the club. When it finally happened it was a dream come true.”
