Berb Luvs Giggsy 4eva… IDST

Everybody’s ranting and raving about Ryan Giggs at the moment, with Sir Alex Ferguson recently asking for a knighthood for our legend.

The fuss began following his brilliant performance against Chelsea in our 3-0 win. After successfully making the transition from winger to central midfielder, Giggsy bossed a midfield that boasted the talent of Frank Lampard and Michael Ballack.

More recently, Giggs scored our only goal in a 1-0 win over West Ham, successfully beating two men, winding back the years, before slotting the ball away with his right foot.

Dimitar Berbatov, like most of our squad, was away on International duty this week and has acknowledged this Giggsy fever has spread all the way to Bulgaria, with Berbatov’s international team mates drooling over Ryan.

“When I went back for the international, all my team-mates said, ‘What a goal, what a finish, what a player’,” Berbatov said. “I said, ‘I know, I train and play with him every day’. You can imagine what people say about Ryan Giggs. He has achieved so much. The goal he scored showed his quality when the team needed it. I am not the one to speak about him really, Sir Alex and the others know him very well. But how long has he been here? Nearly 20 years. That speaks for itself. He is one of the greatest players and some day they will put a statue of him outside the stadium.”

please is there any left sided midfielder ever that is better than sir ryan?

  2. Mic says:

I think Messi would give him a run for his money :P

  3. clj7 says:

Naah, I wouldn’t call him ‘Sir’ Ryan Olusanjo :P No Welshman would ever wanna meet the Queen :) He deserves better :P

  4. Marq says:

Mic, tell us that after 20 yrs

  5. King Eric says:

Mic – I hear what you are saying but you can’t compare Messi to the legend that is Ryan Giggs. You would need to look at him when he is 35 to see if he has achieved what Giggsy has.

  6. EastStandManc says:

I truly believe that, apart from in Manchester, there’s nowhere more appreciative of Giggsy than the Continent.

Look at all the plastic guff that comes out of the bandwagoning media now and contrast it with the heartfelt opinions of those in the top echelons of European football (I’m not talking about the self-aggrandising lot at UEFA, either) over the years.

  7. smudger says:

    What a player !! What a legend!!!
    Ryan Giggs!!

  8. Kevin says:

I hope I can be at the grounds the day his statue is unveiled, anything less wouldn’t cut it.

  9. five says:

The few minutes I saw him play live, I drooled.

  10. RN says:

Wasnt everyone rooting for his head a little while ago? Dont think its about Ryan Giggs the selfless servant really but his current form. When it diminishes sir Ryan would go back to being ‘liability Ryan’ once again for most. Thats the way the cookie crumbles. Hypocrites.

  11. gotta hate tiny tears says:

good stuff rn gotta hate those Hypocrites

me,myself have always always loved ryan giggs been 27 he seems to of always been there. and i understand a few people taught he couldnt bomb down the wing like a 17 year old again so maybe it may spell the end. not givin giggs much respect and thinkin that he has the brain to adapt to a different style of play which he would be world class at again.

i also understand that you are a wanker and while talkin about united fans been Hypocrites

you where probably burning stevie me jerseys outside anfailed

an ARSENAL fan told me about 4 years ago that if a football fan doesnt respect giggs then why are you talkin to them about football cause they dont know shit.

    RN you dont know shit

  12. RN says:

@smith why dont you do the same? @Tiny Tears- for the record, I am a united fan here who has appreciated each year gigsy has given to the club. His dedication is unsurpassable. My point was that his service is totally forgotten when he has a bad game here and there and some idiots even resort to name calling. Have You forgotten when united fans were partitioning for him to get the sack? So its not his service but his last game that defines him for some. What are You so miffed about?

  13. TinManUnited says:

@RN, It’s not about being hypocritical, as fans of United we want to see them playing at the their strongest. And if that means that we don’t want to see certain players on the field when they are not at their best then there is nothing wrong with that. Ryan went through a slump last season and at times I cringed when I saw him come on, but that would never take away from the respect I have for him as a United Legend. We have to be supporters of the Club before the players, thats all.

  14. King Eric says:

TinManUnited – Good point, well made.

  15. Stenhousemuir_Red says:

weve gotta be the most loyal fans when it comes to giggs scholes nevs becks and still even nicky butt when youve seen them grow up and love the club as we do, giggs would have to do something terrible for me to diss him like mess with kids or god forbid join liverpool… you get arseholes at every club who talk shite, his form did dip and you can have a moan its our right when you know how good he is and hes not performing but to say at the time he done for and its time to fuck him off ….. well i for one RN wasnt one of them……. was you one of them arseholes who shouted for hes head ?

  16. Jake says:

i wasn’t overjoyed to see Giggs coming on last year either and it would have taken a brave/foolish man to predict he had more years in him back then..However, instead of being a slowish left-winger he has moved to central midfield this year with such effectiveness, partly because I think it’s taken him a couple of seasons to settle into the position properly..not hypocritical at all as TinManUnited says…now when I go to games I call for him to be brought on to give us that creative edge, i.e. against Everton…that’s human nature, you can still have respect for what he’s achieved but you don’t have to stand at the side lauding someone when they’re playing bad, otherwise the praise is worth nothing, support yes but you don’t have to come away saying ‘I think we should play Giggs at left wing every week because of what he’s done for this club’…you’ve only got to see the way that Ferguson puts Rafael ahead of Neville at times this year to see that sentimentality isn’t everything and it doesn’t mean you don’t support the dropped player

  17. AlexOfMancunia says:

There were those idiots (probably youngsters/newer fans of the club who don’t appreciate his longevity, loyalty, and most of all his amazing ability when he was younger and at the top of his game) that were criticising him last season. Some fans just can’t appreciate that Form is temporary, while Class is permanant.

Couldn’t believe it when people were saying last year that we should sell Giggsy and Nev because they aren’t good enough anymore blah, blah, blah…

Last season I used to make jokes in the stands like “Here comes old man Giggsy” etc. But I never wanted him out of the club, neither did anyone who truely appreciates what a brilliant servant he has been. I honestly can’t find enough superlatives to describe this great man.

  18. RN says:

@Tim I concure. Good to have a good thought out reply for once. Anyway it was’nt my intention to perform a moral execution/judgement by implying that united fans are morally inept. Rather to give the other side: shake the cage a bit, i can see some feathers got ruffled in the process . Oh well… Adios.. @Sten.. Yeah it was me Einstein, I can see a Nobel coming soon for your moment of genius.

  19. Stenhousemuir_Red says:

    @RN smart ass twat lol

  20. RN says:

@ jake..Can not disagree with you too much but what Alex states is closer to where i come from. That apart Rafael is totally overrated right back at the moment atleast. what does he do- give a pass to midfield and hang out with the corner flag. Oops here i go again ;)

  21. klauq says:

For my love and respect for Sir Ryan, I really hope he can have a good ending with MU. He just deserves it.Whether he retires early on his own accord or he goes on to play until he is 40+ and still be world class then, I just hope he get the best of endings here.. I hope he will retire when he still is a very good player, because if not, then some people will appreciate his contribution less than he deserves. That is how some people can afford to compare Messi or anybody else with Giggs when its ultimately incomparable yet.

It puts shame on Chelsea and John Terry when people call him “Mr Chelsea” when we dont call Giggs “Mr MU”. It shows just how much greater MU is compared to Chelsea, even Giggs is not Mr MU. No MU player is greater than MU, but John Terry is greater than Chelsea hahaha

  22. RN says:

@Sten Polite as they come. Rat :)

  23. Stenhousemuir_Red says:

@ RN thats not nice, your just being rude now and rats a bit much means a grassing bastard, you could have had dickhead, cockbreath, retarded gimp theres many ways to describe me but rat??? youve put no thought into it at all… you twat

  24. RN says:

@Sten My bad. Please accept my sincerest apologies, you Dickhead and all that. ;)

  25. Stenhousemuir_Red says:

no bother kid apology excepted lol your still a twat though

  26. King Eric says:

RN: Are you really a United fan as you just seem to enjoy criticising our players. Raphael now, for fucks sake man he is only 18 or summat and has a hell of a lot of potential to fulfill. I can appreciate that his defending at times leaves alot to be desired but come on, no need to be so sarcastic and negative.

  27. RN says:

@sten you trying to have the last word aint you, since your day of reckoning (1st april) is so near, i will grant you that. @Eric that was a joke, just forget it man, since we are not on the same wavelength.

  28. Stenhousemuir_Red says:

@RN.. Yes i am Einstein, and I can see a Nobby on the way to you to ……. genius, right time to stop this childish behaviour the name calling its not good for either of us infact i reckon we should just get a room and work our differences out… i can ask me mate micheal barrymore if we can go to hes house…..just wait till you see the size of his pool…….you twat

  29. RN says:

Was leavin a bad taste in my mouth too actually. And stop that twat shit. Toddler.

  30. bossdem says:

    oh gosh!

  31. bossdem says:

    oh my! oh my!

  32. Red-Manc says:
