for all the comparison between Berbatov and Cantona, I find myself reminded of Teddy Sheringham when I watch berbatove play. Especially the game where he was played behind Rooney. His touch, skill, and imaginative play that makes the game tick around him are just so similiar to Sheringham…and that damn non flying gooner Bergkamp

united dont have the next cantona they have they only berbatov

and a team so strong that they could leave out the two of worlds best players and one

and take on a team that beat the arsenal and beat them by 5 goals and kept a clean sheet

united are the greatest team in the world

and berbatov is such a big part of the team

I still think their are some games when he just shouldnt’ play as his style won’t fit in with our tactics, specifically the Arsenal game.

We tried to play football, and when we got hit on the counter we had him and Ronaldo walking back, which was never going to work, whereas Tevez would have closed the ball down.

Yeah, it is easier to say in hindsight, but that was the only thing Fergie has got wrong this season, apart from playing “The Big 4″ against Liverpool, but it’s obvious why he was tempted.

Some of the skills Berba does sometimes is just breathtaking. he kinda reminds me of Henrik, his brains seem to do 99% of the work, and neither had a lot of pace.

Just can’t wait til he starts scoring more regularly!

Nobody will ever be the same as The King, Cantona was not only a fantastic footballer but he had a fantastic personality that nobody will ever be able to match.

But Berbatov’s style of play does remind me of Cantona, but like he says he cant be compared. Ive been really impressed with Berbatov so far

He is a player who, at 27, does not rely on pace, but rather on unrivaled control and technique and a fantastic football brain – he could be playing top level football for another 6 years. The more I see him the more I like how he plays and what he does for the team. Yesterday’s goal reminded me of Cantona against the dippers in the FA Cup, noone expected a shot from the angle he was at. Shouldn’t compare the two because that gives Berba a billing to live up to, and not sure how he would react to that, but its difficult when both exude such an aura of self confident brilliance.

I agree, newspapers always feel the need to draw comparisons but I don’t see why anybody else has to.

love this guy..
he has more than we expected in him..
his touch and control on the ball is second t none.. i believe whenever he starts to hit his peaks by scoring every match and he will, we’ll have a new type of legend different to the King..

finally he should improve his acceleration (his speed from standing).
