Sure, he might have been paid more at ManShitty - or Chelsea (surprisingly, no one has commented on this slip of the tongue: what don't we know ?) but there are only two English teams with "romance" - UTD or L'pool and everyone knows that L'pool will be lucky to hold onto fourth place this year. So, in reality, there's only one choice for a "romantic" and DB9 gets to live his dream. And, he gets about one hundred thousand pounds, this week, next week, the week after - for 208 weeks in total. Schevchenko for example. Wright-Phillips. Damien Duff. Money thrown at players with big names, players tipped to be 'the next big thing'. Chelsea seemed to be in a habit of buying players just so other teams cannot employ them. City will do the same. It's all about making BIG statements. The difference with United, and even teams like Arsenal... is we won't sign players just for their names or for the sake of it, but because they are right for our teams. I think that is shown in the way certain teams play better football than others.
