The mainstay of my post was about the assists and having largely expressed my disdain for them as a useful statistic in general, I don’t know why you felt it would be a good idea to try to prove you point based on goals and assists (the bit when you start to talk about his involvement in goals).

Anyway

As for your exact query I am willing to concede some ground with regarding my accuracy but only just. Had I been more precise about my language I would have said between 1 in 3 and 1 in 4 in English Premier League football rather than his career.

The statistics I have in the premier league for Berbatov are 12 in 33, 15 in 36, 9 in 32 and 4 in 11. Slightly better than 1 in 3 but during his time at united between 1 in 3 and for last season 1 in 4.

I would have thought that with 13 goals in 43 games for united (league) that most people would not be impressed. He also had a barren run towards the end of last season when I felt we needed him most. Is it any surprise that I am not delighted? He didn’t even start the CL Final or against Arsenal in the semis.

Berba set up four clear cut chances again Wolfsburg, three against Bolton and that delightful flick to Valencia and Blackburn and none of them wee put away. He makes the game look easy where Rooney make the game look hard work. Just wish everybody would score from the chances he creates.

to be honnest I thought who in the hell did this magizene because one record they had torres playing for liverpool in the 06/07 season LOL, and I was so tired from traveling I must have read it wrong he would still be a hit for united but like I said it would ruin the progress of welbeck and macheda if villa came with rooney berbatov owen and villa. they would say how can we break through now.
