I don't care what anyone says, he is and always has been our most important player. It takes a couple of goals for the tabloids to sit up and take notice, whereas most United fans who watch him week in, week out know that he does so much more than just score goals. Ronaldo can go and sun it up in Spain. (How come he didn't celebrate?) Rooney is the player we need to keep. Yeah, Rooney will be the key to this season, just like he is every season.

They have set the bar, set such a high standard, that we expect that to go on forever... We did the same with Robbo... and again in his last 1 maybe 2 seasons, caused a few growns from the OT crowd, as he had been so dynamic for years... but the legs just was doing what the brain was telling them to do. I aint slagging them off.... maybe we have just been spoilt with 2 ultra fantastic players over the last 15 years that we expect the same level as always...
