Biggest Shirt Sponsor In The World

With the media beating Manchester United to it this morning, our new shirt deal has finally been confirmed by the club.

Aon Corp. have signed a four year deal which will start for the 2010/2011 season, when AIG’s deal expires.

“We are delighted to be entering such an important relationship with a company of the stature of Aon and to have its logo adorn our shirts from the start of the 2010/11 season,” said David Gill. “We look forward to being closely aligned with the world leader in risk management, a firm which shares our values and is an exciting partner for Manchester United. Today’s announcement clearly strengthens our position as one of the biggest clubs in world football.”

Our sponsorship deal is worth more than any football shirt sponsorship in the World.

Manchester United – £20m-a-year

Bayern Munich – £17m-a-year, four-year deal with telecommunications company T-Home.

Real Madrid – £15m-a-year, four-year deal with Austrian gambling company Bwin.com.

Juventus – £15m-a-year, five-year deal with Libya-based oil company Tamoil.

Chelsea – £10m-a-year, five-year deal with Korean electronics giant Samsung.

Liverpool – £8m-a-year, four-year deal with Carlsberg.

Manchester City – £8m-a-year, three-year deal with Etihad Airways.

Their logo is shit! meh, who cares, £20mil a season… struth!!!

  2. 7seagulls says:

Just looking into these, they look considerably more stable than AIG, despite the economic crisis their revenue went up last year, and they arent in debt. I would be interested to see what our “shared values are though”

  3. Muggaz says:

maybe they like abusing dippers as well?

  4. Coogie says:

So Utd are bringing out new home and away kits this year, correct? SO after a season the kits will be old kits because the sponser will be changed! Bullshit

  5. Macheda is GOD says:

    Woopie!

  6. gotta hate tiny tears says:

    hijack the kaka deal now

  7. Red_Ruth says:

If thats 20 mill more to spend on players thats great news. However, if thats 20 mill to clear some debt then screw the Glazers. I would have loved for United to take a leaf out of Villa’s and Barca’s books and for them to take a charities name. It’s not like Barca wouldnt be able to to get a 15 mill+ sponser. I just hope that Fergie gets to spend some of this money.

  8. mancstan says:

Dippers dont get much do they!

  9. LUHG DK says:

i dont know why we – as United fans – should be proud of this.

The said company calls us walking billboards on its website and surely this will not benefit the supporters in any way.

  10. livewia says:

Hear hear GHTT!!! “hijack the kaka deal now”!!!!!

  11. gotta hate tiny tears says:

    @ LUHG

  12. corea says:

    GHTT

YES! But it is not going to happen. sadly he is going to Real and i hate it.
oh my god. i will survive.

  13. wazza says:

good if AON don’t go bankrupt like many of the US firms lately. GM is the latest to bite the dust. its scary

  14. gotta hate tiny tears says:

    :( but i like kaka

  15. Marq says:

Send Ronaldo to Real, get Kaka in. Play Kaka behind Rooney & Berbatov. Fletcher & Carrick behind Kaka with a winger on the right whilst Rooney play slightly to the left!

  16. Quinton_Fortune says:

haha, and i like Messi but lets be realistic!

  17. gotta hate tiny tears says:

    good point Quinton_Fortune
    get messi to
we’ve 2o million for busby sake

  18. gotta hate tiny tears says:

im in such a good mood today
and this just made it that much brighter

  19. costas says:

Kaka could have had the same problems that Veron had. Lets see how he does at Madrid. If that move keeps Ronaldo at OT,then i am all for it.I juts hope that Ronaldo screws his head on right now.

  20. Gudjohnsen says:

I just read that Chelsea made an offer worth 73 mills to AC Milan. They could be tempted to accept and Kaka might want to work under Ancelotti again. But for fuck’s sake, 73 mills for one player?? This is outrageous even though your name is Kaka, Ronaldo or Messi. I don’t like this evolvement in the transfer market. I thought the world was going through financial crisis at the moment but I guess the football market is somewhat immune to that.
I wouldn’t want United to spend that kind of money on one player. I thought the 32 mills for Berba was to the extreme maximum…

  21. costas says:

If he goes to Chelsea, then i think that it will drain them from any funds for the rest of their transfers. And i don’t know how well he will fit in there despite the presence of Ancelotti. But if he does go to Chelsea,Real might turn to Ronaldo.

  22. Gudjohnsen says:

@Costast – yeah I think so too, Real will probably turn to Ronaldo once again or settle for Ribiery. Zidane is now in the staff at Real and he’s announced that Real should buy Ribiery rather than Ronaldo.

  23. BrisbaneRed says:

“Dippers dont get much do they!”

That’s all the arseholes are worth – not a penny more nor a penny less.

They’re a second rate club and they get a second rate sponsorship deal.

  24. Omid Homayoon says:

    Not Bad..

  25. King Eric says:

Carlsberg don’t sponsor Champions but if they did………………………………………………………………………………………..they would sponsor United!

  26. suhayl says:

    Class King Eric.

more money the better…we dont have rich sugar daddy’s or governments to bail us out ala madrid. So we have to have the best commercial team in football….getting us the sponsors and getting the deals and reddies in. Thats how we survive and live and progress…

So get of your moral high horse some of you

  27. Gibbs says:

I heard from my friend that Carlsberg are just weeks away from signing a new contract with the Bin Dippers worth about 30 mill a year… Anybody know anything about this??

  28. King Eric says:

Gibbs – No I have not heard this but seriously doubt it. 30 MILLION! Bollocks.

Good to have you back Suhayl.
