Well I am sure the Glazers are behind it, but again that doesn't matter in the context of integrity and ethics. As long as they put the 'kibosh' on it in a proper and correct manner. As far as we, the supporters were informed, the only way the 'kibosh' could have been put on it was by a termination of his contract because we were informed United had bought him and he was a United player,

Maybe the Glazers put the kibosh on the Ljajic transfer after the expensive flops of Tosic and Berbatov. Nani, Anderson and Hargreaves were very expensive too.

By the way, Got to Hate Tiny Tears, thanks for what you said in your last post. I know I am banging on a bit, but there has been a fear and frustration building in me for a good year and a half now.

I was banging on about the 'Youngsters getting a chance' - the statement made to justify the lack of big signings this season, and rolled out whenever Sir Alex has been questioned about lack of signings - not so long ago, and that was connected in it's way to the feelings I am having about this episode. I am suddenly getting a real cold chill because I have got the unshakeable feeling that we are being taken for a ride.

I don't mind Fergie standing up tomorrow and saying to all the players that their time is up and he believes he can find better players elsewhere. Getting rid of players is not the problem I am seeing. It is the way the club is going about it's business that is a huge worry, because when you start seeing this type of behaviour from any organisation it spells just one thing...trouble.

I don't know if any of you are still paying attention to this thread, but thanks for all of you who didn't decide to take exception for me pointing out what I feel was a totally unaccetable manner for a club as big, important and traditional and ours to carry out their business.

I am still greatly supprised at the people who seem to want to simply avoid the main concerns this incident raises and still want to talk purely in terms of whether the boy was good enough or not. That is simply not the issue of concern. If that is all there was to this then there would be no use discussing anything because none of us know what the truth is in that respect. All I know is that the reports in the press have been glowing and Fergie has given his own backing to the player and his progress as recently as September and October.

The main issues of concern are to do with the way the club has misrepresented this transfer in every detail you look at, from the way the signings were announced, the way he was paraded as a United player, the statement that he was indeed a United player and he was being loaned back to Partizan, the way the boy has been absolutely shafted by the club, the way the organisation that is Manchester United has introduced the boy to the fans, through it's own media as a United player, the way that the gutter press where allowed to break the news without Partizan or the boy having been informed by our club and the fiasco that has followed with contradicting statements coming from Gill and then Phelan.

We as United fans must not accept everything with totally blinkered and unquestioned loyalty, just for the sake of being United fans. That is not good for any organisation, club, or it's members and supporters. It is a responsibility of all who care for this club not to do a Nero and just fiddle as Rome burns. We have a duty to hold our club responsible for it's actions and the way it engages with it's players, supporters and the environment it functions in. We have a duty to address the difficult questions and not carry on as if nothing has happened. Questions of whether a player is good enough or not to play for United are fine but that is simply not the question I and many others are concerned with in this matter.

It is just not relevant to this serious question of how the club has acted in it's dealings with both the player and the fans, not to mention that Phelan has then gone on to contradict this statement by blaming work permit problems - an even more ludicrous situation than the previous excuse in my opinion because he is suggesting that the club are so inept that we go a full year without sorting this out ( the boy is probably going to play in the World Cup for Serbia which will more or less give him the permit anyway by the way). We are asked to believe that we allow our manager to inform us again in October that we will be seing Ljajic in January... and then Phelan offers that we haven't bothered to get the Work Permit sorted out actually - we made a 'tentative' approach...what a load of bollocks!

Ronaldo and Tevez were bad apples Sunny. The team in the long run will be better off rid. As for Nani I don't particularly like him but what are you expecting from Anderson? He is 21 for fuck sake and in a few of our games this season he has been superb. Rentboys, Spurs in the league and Wednesday for example. As for Rome we just didn't turn up and on another day with a fit Fletch and Hargo the score could have been very different. Don't forget Rio, Carrick and Ando were all playing with injuries. Anyway Ronaldo and Tevez were playing. Further improve than 2 successive Euro finals? How much improvement do you expect? That isn't many teams that have done that. You my friend are spoilt as a United fan. What do you expect the treble every season?

King Eric-we all knew Ronaldo was going to leave. But Fergie and others declared that they are not going to sell.Similar things have happened now,you could see Adem Ljajic as a United player in players profile of official website,But now we hear that he is not. Now,how do you feel about being lied to? The same thing happened with tevez,it was as much as tevez's fault as the club's.Personally i never rated tevez and didnt want United to sign him.
As for going downwards, can you remember the last two champions league final? how we were out played by Bercelona and just won in Moscow? when your team reaches 2 consecutive finals, you expect the team to further improve,But we've sold Ronaldo and let tevez go, but didnt improve much.Yes,there are a lot of young players coming through, but we're still depending on players like Giggs and scholes.Where is Anderson and Nani? they are supposed to step up their game by now.last season we did play mediocore football and was dependant on our defence.Even in this season,we are not coherent and we dont have enough threats in our team(from midfield and attack). As a supporter i hope club management acknowledge the problems we have now.

sunny - How could we keep Ronaldo? He wanted to go and some of his antics last season were an embarrasment. Why we would pay £25 million plus for Tevez? He went for the money pal and if the reports are true Citeh have paid £47 million for the Judas. Kia was always gonna get the best deal for him. Pair of greedy bastards. Mediocre football? United are just starting to get out of first gear. How are we going downwards and other teams are improving? Have you seen how much talent we have coming through? We have the best squad in the Premier league and do tell me which other teams are improving as we are going downwards please. As for Phelan if he is good enough for Fergie he is good enough for me. You only have to see what Keano thought of him in his book. Good coach and knows United inside out.
