After taking a 1-0 lead, our hopes of playing Leeds United in the next round of the FA Cup took a huge hit when non-league Kettering pulled a goal back.
The game went to extra time and what had been the dream draw suddenly seemed in doubt.
They were just teasing us though. They went on to win 5-1 and book their place in the next round at Old Trafford.

Given that i am from another country and i joined this blog just last year, i didn’t know how passionate United fans can get about a game with Leeds. In the past i haven’t really payed any attention to them. They just felt like an annoying monkey on our back. I did notice their hatred during Cantona and Ferdinand’s return, but i chalked it down to the usual case of ABUism. But i can understand how different it feels for the locals. For what it’s worth, i hope we give them a good spanking. I still have the bitter taste in my mouth from our last game.
That’s the spirit! Have you missed us, chaps? I’m sure you have. Be patient, you’ll be back playing us regularly again soon enough. Better than playing those so-called ‘massive top flight clubs’ (lol) like Fulham, Brum, Portsmouth, Hull, Bolton, Stoke, Wigan etc. don’t you think?

As a leeds supporter I envy the calibre of players the reds attract, can afford, and I shout as loud as anyone for Manchester when they play in Europe. For me, whatever the outcome its a dream tie, and I hope one day to get back to playing you home and away on a regular basis..

Sometimes I wish they were still in the league. How fun would it be to hammer them twice every season. But they are where they belong now. It’s great to see so many supporters still have passionate hatred for them. I wish I could be at the game, although it’s guaranteed that there will be trouble.
