Bruce: United Lads Always Do Well At Sunderland

Steve Bruce has again reiterated his desire to sign Danny Welbeck on a permanent deal but believes it is almost impossible.

Kieran Richardson, Phil Bardsley and Frazier Campbell have all made the move from United after progressing through our academy and will certainly be promoting the positives of leaving United for a club he could play for every week.

“The boys who come here from Manchester United always do well. There must be something in the air here that they enjoy,” Bruce said “Danny has had a wonderful time here and has enjoyed playing. Now he has got the ultimate accolade for his performances for us and he has been called up for the England team. It is going to be very, very difficult to try to get him here [on a permanent deal]. Can we get him? I think it’s very, very doubtful, if I am being honest.”

Danny is gonna be a star, no doubt about it. For us or not is the question.

  2. mattbw7 says:

Brucie you’ve had enough, now fuck off and play with the toys we’ve already given you, you cheeky cunt.

    Love you though.

  3. Kings says:

Brucie said he will need to get Fergie drunk first before attempting to sign Danny.

STR on fire! 8th post today.
    Btw who needs Danny Welbeck?
Buy a striker who goes to Boyzone concerts and costs a bomb.

  5. Costas says:

    Even Richardson. ;)

Well I just hope it wears off on the Sunderland fans a bit. Their singing of Munich songs is about as bad as anywhere in the league. Actually agree with bruce that it is good for Sunderland, but not as convinced that it is as good for us. Anyone have a tally on which club we have set lads out on loan that has done better with actually sending us back a better product? Agree they all mature, but what about helping them to be successfull at United. Maybe only Jonny Evans has done enough to come back from Sunderland and actually be “settled” at United. I actually think we have done a bit better with Royal Antwerp but even that only adds Evans and Gibson to the list or “successes”. Anyone? By comparison, Giggs, Butt, Fletcher and Scholes never went out on loan. (Preston)

    Gibson
    2006–2007 → Royal Antwerp (loan) 31 games
    2007–2008 → Wolves (loan) 21 games

A few others that have gone off to Antwerp: Evans, O’Shea several others going back.
Maybe a case for Preston northend for some of the juniors (Beckham, Josh King)

  7. Rai says:

Kings – i don’t think even the finest wine could tempt the gaffer to sell Welbeck!!!

  8. smartalex says:

Stealth United can dent city’s morale further on Sunday. Come on United Stealth!

  9. bchilds says:

Welbeck should be our 4th choice striker next season, no point in renewing Owen’s contract.

  10. FletchTHEMAN says:

Rio in training. Oh my that is great news.

    @Smartalex. Cheers mate.
Actually hoping that Blackburn can pull one out of the hat over le arse. Maybe Mame Biram Diouf can be the Stealth factor.
As to CSKA Moscow, they play Stoke. So old boys Danny Higginbotham and Ryan Shawcross can be called on for additional stealthy play.

    Comeon yu REDS!

  11. willierednut says:

Rai – How about a crate of Montblanc wine?

  12. smartalex says:

A tremendous network of players we have FletchTHEMAN!

We have a First team, and cover for every position, and under-covers everywhere else.

  13. theboogeyman says:

FletchTHEMAN, smartalex- Stealth United. Love it!

  14. Rai says:

Willie – he’d have to spike his drink!!! Welbeck has had a successful season and has versatility – I can’t see him going…..

  15. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

I dont know if ths was already posted but Did you see the Photo of Wesley Sneijder in Mancheter Airport From Tuesday ? ? ? makes you wonder

    http://twitpic.com/4fmqzv

  16. willierednut says:

Rai – I don’t see him going either mate. I certainly wouldn’t expect him to be part of any deal for Henderson.

  17. Rai says:

GHTT – I’d love to see him at United he’s a brilliant player…..and we don’t have to worry about losing him to the Virus in Madrid

  18. TonyBee says:

OFF TOPIC. been away for a bit but heard that we are about to sign Ashley YOUNG from the Villans for 25mill……fuck me ……… I hope they was taking the APRIL 1ST piss

  19. smartalex says:

theboogeyman – I think Costas brought stealth technology to RoM.

Another Stealth player, Everton striker Louis Saha has been ruled out for the rest of the season after being forced to undergo ankle surgery.

Also, Sir Alex admits that the break wasn’t long enough to get players back in time.

“I thought the two-week break would bring a few of them on. It has but not enough for them to play on Saturday. We are considerably short for the right-back position. We have to solve that – and find the right solution.”

  20. Rai says:

TonyBee – Fergie said there’s no value in the market. £25m for Young is a bargain don’t you think? ;)

  21. willierednut says:

Nice one Gotta hate. I dare say, a few fell for that.

  22. smartalex says:

I must admit I had thought that Wesley Sneijder was good looking. Better on telly, anyway.
Ah well, it’s not what you look like, it’s how you play the game that matters.

  23. FletchTHEMAN says:

Think it was myself that brought first graced the site with the idea of the Stealthy Side.
Stealth UNITED is all the lads that have been sent off to the far reaches of the footballing world to infiltrate and work SAFs plan of GLOBAL DOMINATION!

  24. FletchTHEMAN says:

    Smartalex.
I am thinking Fabio might be the RB. O’Shea and Brown are crocked and Evans is banned.

  25. TonyBee says:

Do I fuck think 25MILL is a good price…… maybe 15-16……even Villa fans want shot of the cunt………..I think they know a bit more about him than us. For them to want too offload Young and hold out for that sort of price.. makes me smell a rat …..go on to Villa fans blogs where they discuss Young…..not their favourite that’s for sure

  26. TonyBee says:

you shithouse GHTT ….got me

  27. Rai says:

Willie – If our fans criticise Carrick they’ll hate Henderson. Carrick is twice the player we don’t need Hemderson…I can’t even put my finger on what his strength is as a player!!!

  28. King Eric says:

Fletch. Hello mate. Do sunderland fans sing munich songs? Never hear it myself. Stoke yes.

Gotta hate. Hello old pal. How are you? I sincerely hope there is summat in that picture.

Reckon danny will be at united next year. Despite my premature praise of henderson a few month back, like willie I cannot see or neither want him involved in any sort of swap deal for danny

Saw great footage last night from mid to late nineties of fergie sat in a house with brucie and pally opposite him having a right laugh.

  29. King Eric says:

    Gotta hate. Bastard.

  30. smartalex says:

FletchTHEMAN, sorry for the misquote. I love your ideas of World Domination, by all means, stealthy and otherwise!

It seems likely that Fabio plays at No. 2, although there could well be a surprising solution from left field. As surprising, but not similar to the 7 defender routine against arsenal. If Fabio does start there, Berbatov will start.

  31. willierednut says:

Rai – I’ve heard Henderson described as the new Beckham. Never seen that myself.

  32. Rai says:

Willie – I can’t think of anything he’ll add to our midfield. He’s not quick, not skilful, doesn’t have a great range of passing…not a tough tackler…i’d much rather put one of the youth team lads in.

  33. FletchTHEMAN says:

    Smartalex,
Cheers mate. Who keeps notes on this site anyway. Maybe Costas? Ha ha ha….
I just try to stay happy.

  34. smartalex says:

You seem to do a good job of it FletchTHEMAN!

  35. willierednut says:

RedScot always said he had a photographic memory, maybe it was him, keeping notes.

  36. smartalex says:

Could Sir Alex be considering a 4-5-1 with Tony V at RB? Nani ahead of him. Rooney on the left, with Carrick shielding, and Ando with Park in the middle. Berbatov alone up front.

Alternatively Giggs on the left, Rooney and Park ahead of Carrick.

    Thoughts?

  37. willierednut says:

Thinking outside the box smartalex? I’d presume, we’d go with Fabio, but food for thought?

  38. Rai says:

Smartalex – Fabio would be the natural choice at RB. Do you think Tony V is ready for a start or do you think possible sub appearance ready for a start against the Rent Boys?

  39. smartalex says:

Rai, I agree, Fabio is the natural choice at right back. I expect that West Ham will also expect that, and will surely plan to attack that side with Smalling and Fabio. We also lack height as Evra is not tall either. I think that means Berbatov must play (set piece defense) but that doesn’t help in open play. So I considered Valencia.

  40. Rai says:

Smartalex – I see your reasoning, especially as we’re missing Ferdinand, O’Shea, Brown and also we shouldn’t forget RedNev. We are lacking height and West Ham are going to try and expose that. I always feel uneasy about this game…

  41. smartalex says:

Rai, the most important thing is that we have Vida back. Smalling seems likely to play well with him, and with Carrick in front of them it is almost 3 centre backs. Add Van der Sar, and you should be feeling a bit better.

If we keep them out, we will win. I think we should win even if they do score.
    Come on United!

  42. Rai says:

Smartalex – you’re bang on about Carrick he has to play.

  43. Zibbie says:

    Fabio makes sense.
Rooney at LB Berba and Lil Pea up front??!

  44. Zibbie says:

Fletch I’m with you and SAF
Stealth UNITED is all the lads that have been sent off to the far reaches of the footballing world to infiltrate and work SAFs plan of GLOBAL DOMINATION!
    MMMMMMMMMUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAA
As I pet a white cat.

  45. YorYor says:

Gotta be kidding me, no one in the footballing world now can reproduce those Beckham crosses and freekicks on the kind of frequency and consistency that Becks was able to.

The only young English hyped-up player I really like the look of is that Everton kid, Rodwell, not the Gosling guy.

Not sure if we could get him but with Everton possibly needing to sell… I think they’d rather him come to us.

As for Welbeck, fingers crossed but we really have a dearth of talent there. Not sure how SAF’s gonna be managing them. 3 loanees coming back, Diouf, Welbeck and Macheda. All 3 of the approximate same age, and all 3 are exhibiting good potential in my opinion. Diouf’s scored some real poacher goals at Blackburn despite them not being very strong, wonder if anyone’s gonna be making a compilation of his goals this season. While Macheda’s not been taking Serie A by storm, there’s no doubt he’s got something in him. I really like the look of him in our kit.

ghtt, you got me there, blast you!

  46. Stevie the CUNT says:

    Hey Brucie… come take Evans & Gibson…
This 2 guys really gives me the creeps.
Very poor temperament even though they dont have natural talent.

Fergie, sign up Charlie Adams. This guy is gonna get us more goals from corners. The number of corners we get in each game is really wasted without someone that can deliver a pin point cross.
