I was fortunate enough to be invited to the world premiere of Busby in town last night, along with the likes of Michael Carrick, Mike Phelan, Paddy Crerand and Wilf McGuinness, which looks at the life and career from Sir Matt from start to finish.

The film uses the words of Busby and those who knew him best to document the highest highs and lowest lows of his time at Manchester United, as well as footage of defining games and poignant interviews from the manager and players.

It’s hard to imagine what that team went through and the turmoil Busby had to feel over his quest to lead those players in to that fateful trip to Europe. But it was a redemption of sorts in 1968 when we became the first English team to lift the European Cup. Busby wouldn’t give up until it was won.

The film is available to own on digital on November 15th and DVD/Blu-ray on November 18th.
