The club has announced the signing of Alexander Büttner from Vitesse Arnhem after a Dutch newspaper broke the finalisation of the deal this morning.
“Joining Manchester United is one of the best days of my life,” said the player. “It’s a team I have admired for many years now and I can’t wait to join my teammates and play my part in helping the club be successful.”
Sir Alex Ferguson, who has been looking for cover for Patrice Evra following Fabio da Silva’s year long loan deal with QPR, is equally as impressed.
“Alexander is one of the best young left backs in Europe and we’re delighted to sign him,” he said. “He’s someone we’ve been watching for a while now. He gives us some really exciting options in that position.”

Man Utd News 24/7

Well from what I’m seeing from Dutch football experts, this is at best a ‘strange signing’, at worst a bizarre one!
@Mahesh
And some say he’s a very promising player. Depends who you want to listen to.
Good luck lad
Me never been into holding hands a swapping spit around the campfire with other lads
More of the Bluto type
Bebe part2?
Best of luck to the lad. Hope he proves everyone of his critics wrong.
We are Man United. We do what we like!
Including spotting the league a few games every fall.
Definitely looks promising, has a mea left foot!

A team needs all kinds of personalities. Everton beat us yesterday with pure heart. Its not always about skill or talent. Give me a player ready to give all for the team any day over a super star that thinks he is above that. I suspect this new player may have this quality.
I hope he’s good enough to challenge evra at the least!!. I mean fabio couldn’t do it and i rate fabio pretty high,so it’s going to be a tough task ahead for this guy, though evra has been pretty poor for us the last year and a half.
I dont think we should be too worried abou Buttner coz we have Fabio who had a good game against Swansea despite defeat, lets give Buttner a chance and lets see what can develop of him.
My big worry is central midfield, Tom is good but not like Alonso, Yaya, Khedira, Schweinsteiger,Vidal.United need sum1 of that quality due to da system we play, we actually missed Carrick in da midfield yesterday, i am not sure if Fletcher will be da same again.
But i was very impressed with Kagawa, i cant say da same of Rooney, i think Rooney needs to be benched a bit so he can raise his game a bit.
Good luck to the new lad.
Work hard , cover yourself with glory and reflect the club we support Alexander Buttner . All the best in your efforts .
Like everyone else I was Buttner who? But the same could be said of a few United players who went on to be great servants to the club’s onward march to success and greatness.
He seems like he really wants to be here and play his heart out. Like nearly all of SAF’s signings character is something he weighs up before buying especially players with potential.
I hope he buckles down and starts pushing Evra to buck up his own game.
jixie
bang on mate i reckon this guy has some heart!!
legend
agreed rooney looks appalling and must be dumped till hes hungry again
I say play him for 2 or 3 weeks straight and give Evra a break. Having a break while everyone else is “working” is a force multiplier in terms of recovery. I think he’s been burnt out, seriously.
3 lions
drop rooney?you must be joking.him and nani are our game changers.thank God u not even phelan let alone fergie
He is going to “Kick some butt!”
The only video I have seen about him shows his offensive side. I have read somewhere that he was a attacking mid converted to wing back. Anyone has any videos of him doing defensive work?
The club have been on his case for some time,Sir Alex say’s one of the best young left backs in Europe.I would tend to go with his opinion,Surprise me Sir Alex sign Martinez like right now.
Best of luck buettner. Hope you can cross and track back..
“He gives us some really exciting options in that position.”
And about damn time too.
ND58
He looks an exciting player. Sure he’ll do well.
GGMU!!!
Parry – put an end to the martinez thing, he’s bayern bound. They’ve agreed a fee.
Off topic, oh like anyone gives a fuck…….
Just found out that U2 have a song called Cedars of Lebanon! I am a fucking celebrity
Costas
Kindly piss off
Glory Glory Man U!
Trailing City by 3 points already wasn’t the way we should have started. But, there have been instances where we’ve won the league after losing the opening game.
On the other hand, we’ve never won the Premier League after losing at Goodison.
we need to sign tiote urgently
and sell nani and buy a left footed winger or play brady
may be dembele/herrera
but buying tiote,a CB and selling nani are the urgent needs of our team after LB
@Cedars
Hey, you started posting cryptic initials in this thread.
Still, the midfielders suck, when paul scholes is still used in starting lineup, you know our mid field sucks (andesron should be offloaded). I hope Man U can claim 3rd spot in the league. Their influence is waning,
Man city have wealth and resources, they need just couple of titles in next 2-3 years and they will get recognition and popularity. With Glazer situation unresolved, I am afraid, Man U will decline as a potent force and become the next liverpool.
Money does rule eventually.
Who ever made that post at 17:19 is that doing it to get under my skin, I am sure its someone I know
ND58
Costas is 3 points and 3 goals now.make it six coz they will beat everton.lets be realistic now.no room for error.couple more days be4 transfer is closed.saf should act first in getting new mid.bomel is my choice imo.
@jithin
what kind of bullshit is that.. what do u mean we need to sell Nani! u must have a memory of a chicken. remember who was player of the season when we won the league..now go see a shrink
With Man U declining and becoming next ‘poolers and Man city becoming next Man U. Lets start supporting the next Man U in the making, since they play attractive and attacking football. Did anyone check Man City’s game, they are next Barca in the making.
It’s sad to what Man U club has become. All hail the Glory days of Man U, cause that era is over. Man City do have decent shirts compared to Man U picnic table shirts.
HAIL MAN U!
If possible also get one more center half like hummels kagawa help him settle or subotic vidic help him settle.need to make statement like neville said.
Best day of his life…for sure…but is it the same for our club…or he will be another demba demba
Glory.u taking the piss not so?fuck off u r a dickhead man.
ND58 SOTBB
GLory gLOry MAN U
At first I thought you used that moniker to have a laugh, but its seriously insulting to United pal if you keep using it
Here comes the trolls.. another reason why techs shouldn’t be given to twats.
Mara demba demba plays for newcastle man.
The doom and gloom is pathetic to be honest. Let’s just hand the trophy to City right now itself. Some of our fans are already slagging off the team saying they are not good enough. Before everyone on here breaks a blood vessel or something, lets face a facts:
1. We have always been slow starters.
2. Early season form counts but it doesn’t mean the team will continue the same form throughout the season. Remember how we started last season and how we ended up. A lot can happen in a season so be patient.
3. Everton away was always going to be a difficult match. It was made even more difficult with our several of our first team defenders out with injuries.
4. The squad has a couple of new players (Kagawa, RVP) who will be integral to the team’s success in the future so it is highly critical that SAF finds the right combination before we hit the ground running. The only way SAF can do that is by playing them in these matches and hope that it clicks. We may drop points till SAF finds the right formation which balances attack and defense.
It’s easy to play football manager on your laptop. Reality is completely different. So stop saying shite like “SAF sign this player, SAF sign that player”. And finally have some faith in the Gaffer, he knows what he is doing even though we think the opposite. The old guy has not been at the helm for 26 years for doing jack shit. He has earned it. Respect him.
@reds – You are scared to face the reality. Have you seen any Man City games? I am objective and unbiased, you are wearing colored lenses. Look at Man City game play and you will shudder to think how Man U will compete against that.
Against southhampton they had 81 pc possession, and created tons of chances. In our team, we have stupid Nani who cannot cross at all. When was the last time MU scored from set piece. We don’t have any creativity apart from new Kagawa boy.
GLory gLOry MAN U
Why not take that U in your user name, make it straight and shove it, you insulting twat
So after 81 percent possesion they won last gasp after scoring in the 84th min. Yeah i saw that game, and your a faggot.
Despite having only seen him play via YouTube, I do like what I see. Buttner seems to have a great attitude as well. Evra is going to have to step up for sure.
What I do wonder about is Fergie’s plan with our future challengers to that position. Next year, our depth chart at LB (only thinking of those who have played with the first team) is looking like:
Evra (31)
Buttner (23)
Fabio (22)
Brady (20)
Blackett (18)
Someone let me know if I am missing someone, but that’s a lot of left backs wanting to play. I’m curious to know what other people think will happen. I can’t see all of them staying, and while there will certainly be loans involved, I think one of them will be gone for sure.
Stop taking the piss. You are the same guy as 911. So yeah go away.
Ryan – next year evra will be phased out and fabio will be first choice. Buetner and fabio can play as RB and LB. so isnt really a problem.
Brady is a LW.. The way nani and young keep having off periods each season we should see him break intomthe 11 soon.
Perhaps I’m getting a little ahead of myself with Blackett expecting to play, but Brady has been on numerous loans already so it seems the next logical step is playing for the first team.
Ignore the fucktard, though you could take bets on whether he is:
A. A dipper on a windup
B. A bitter or a chav
C. The resident schizofreak specter
Samuel-united We stand.
Afraid not until he’s signed as far as I’m concerned Get him or alternatively Herrera or Sahin in fact anybody good enough to play of Carrick’s shoulder see what’s coming through the middle and react to it either by the tackle or interception it’s the only way we will get back to what was taken for granted.A solid skillful defence and midfield only then will we be able to take on all comers here and in Europe.I can’t wait.
Ryan – blackett is still 18.. There is about 4 more years for him to step up.
If buettner is as good as fergie says then its a masterstroke. We have bough cover for both fullback positions for 3.9 mil £
Glory i know city play well but dont insult players of utd.city might win title but i know this time we will win one too evan fa cup as i cant remember last tyme we won it man.chill give players time let saf get mo targets be4 window closes.ffp will kick city out and soon we conquer again when they are gone.
ryan7. Brady is a LW more than a LB. Blackett will definitely be sent on loan a couple of times but he is the one for the future. He is already built like a bull so I can see him in the first team in a 2-4 years unless he stalls. I think Evra is going to be gradually phased out with (hopefully) Buttner taking over. If everything pans out the way I suggested then our LB options for the 13/14 season should be Buttner and Fabio with Blackett waiting in the wings.
@erickeane
I think Brady would make a better LW, but SAF said during preseason that United sees him as a left back.
“Young Robbie Brady will be at left-back. He’s actually an outside-left but we believe there’s the possibility he’ll develop into a left-back. He was on loan last year at Hull City and did very well. He’ll certainly figure at left-back.”
Utd4life – agreed. Rational thought is needed at the moment rather than knee-jerk. The season is cliched as a marathon and it is, we’re slowly building and hoping everything gels. We lacked creativity last season and FERGIE has sorted that out with the players he’s brought in.
Couple of issues still remain, we need some players to step up their levels and fulfill the potential we know they’re capable of. We obviously need presence in midfield against some premier league team that place emphasis on bruising physical play, there’s no player available so we’ll have to make do with what we have (anderson can add athleticsm and power) but generally, i think our midfield will excel in europe this season in terms of keeping possession and utilizing the ball. We may fall short against barca (every team probably will) but you never know what happens.
Last night was disappointing but this club is all about bouncing back, we will thrive to do so whilst also respecting oppositions.
@GLory bitchin whory
Go support shitty then. u glory hunter.
We will support our beloved team no matter what.
UNITED!!! UNITED!!! UNITED!!!
Jeet
I go for option C
ND58
I had seen the good cop bad cop routine in the movies but to see it online is just hilarious.
@glory glory (yeah, whatever)
Not many teams will take 3 points from Goodison
City had 80% + and needed to come from behind, at home against a newly promoted side
So, big fucking deal? So what? Title isn’t won by Christmas, but it can be lost.
Come back after all teams have played 10 games, or, better still, come back after the Christmas and new year schedule and then cast your strange, strange opinions. Or, even better still, just don’t come back on here at all.
Sara
Better still theres a video of me in action argueing with Zibbie and Cedars, dont get too close or you’ll get the horn
Samuel. Well said mate. Yes, there are issues in the team but they will be fixed or mitigated to an extent. Buying players will not always solve the problems. Incorporating new players into a well established system or incorporating a new system into a well established squad (which I feel is what SAF is doing) will take time. People need to understand that. You are not playing FIFA 12 on your playstation. Even Barcelona aka The Greatest Football Team on the planet took 3-4 years to implement their system before they became what they are today.
Just a matter of a few days
ND58
Jeet
Option C without a doubt! Ignore the boring fucker!
Reds Galore – “make it six coz they will beat everton”… What, like last season! Give me a break. Everton are a decent team but playing with a makeshift back four which caused us to lose our most influential midfielder and winger from last year was always gonna make it difficult.
From what I have seen he has a decent left foot but I’m not sure if he will be able to displace Evra as Ferguson has a lot of trust in him and even though Evra is doing badly something is forcing sir alex to stock with him…
Anyway I just want us to sign Fellaini…
Parry – he’s all but signed for bayern. besides, we can’t afford him so i don’t see that happening. Sahin is more of a creative playmaker than a physical complete midfielder, hector herrera is an attacking midfielder for mexico, not sure these players will solve the problem.
I’ve always preferred to promote from within, someone like tunnicliffe can be that powerhouse driving force. We need to give our own players an opportunity.
His passing and reading of the game needed to improve, from what i’ve seen, it’s getting better. Some have mentioned positioning but partner him with michael carrick and he’ll excel. If we can’t bring in players, promote them. Buying isn’t everything.
Welcome to Buttner nice to get some competition especially for a 31 year old full back – a possition that demands alot of running and freshness. STill a little confused as I thought Sir Alex would have gone for another fullback/ central defender who could play on the left and was a 6footer. As far as Im aware this Buttner chap isnt the tallest and for my reckoning doesnt seem to fill a need. Sir Alex no doubt has something up his sleeve.
3,4 years without a trophy?get serious dude that would be crumbling under competition.spain only real n barca challenge so they wete able to come back man.in epl we got quality man n teams are buying every year so saying 3 yrs no trophy is unacceptable imo
My last count is that the freak has now used at least 7 different user names. Thing is he is so daft he keeps outing himself
Cedars I figured that 911 finally had the operation to switch his naughty parts now that he/she is exclusively posting as Sara, best congratulate her for taking the final plunge.
Well if you can’t stick by your team when they don’t win trophies for 3-4 years then kindly leave UTD and support another team. I would recommend Man Shitty who I hear are doing quite well at the moment and are the Barcelona of PL.
Tunni is decent but will chicken out due to no experience.get established destroyers n im raving for van bommel.its gonna be hard in europe i tell u man.defense needs one more will u face ibrahimovic with carrick.guys open your eyes and forsee stuff
So instead of supporting a fake username, he now fights one. Thats crafty.
Utd4life – exactly. Patience is the key to building a successful team. Just because it fails to instantly fulfill what we want, it doesn’t mean we drasticall rip it all off and start again. I see positive signs but i also see places we can improve on and get better. We’ll come good.
What annoys me the most is the fact that some want to sign any player that has a decent game against united. Felliani is a decent player, his touch isn’t bad but his main strength his is ability to flick on the ball, he can practically any defender or defensive midfielder in the air, he’s always a threat, don’t see how much we could have done with a makeshift back-line.

Cedars
Is he talking to himself?! I find it disturbing? What a fruit nut?!
My only concern with the team at the moment is that out of our 5 senior CB’s 4 of them are injured. Mystifies me how unlucky we are with injuries to the defence.
Glory glory man u .. Fuck off you plastic cunt and support city as that would then mean i no longer have anything in common with you. You are a waste of space and my guess the result of decades of inbreeding.
Such a shame someone as dumb as that represents our club from being a ‘supporter’
Okay, did anyone watch van bommel in the euros?. Once a great complete midfielder but he’s a immobile midfielder these days. Very cumbersome and concedes more fouls than he contributes to the team. Not good enough anymore and the manager would never take a look at him. fucking hell.
Mikekelly12
Being paranoid as no doubt I am do you think that its me that is talking with myself. The posts on here lead me to believe you think Im Sara? and in turn 911?
Have I got the right end of the stick.
Mike
It is very disturbing indeed mate…..The lad needs help
Samuel-united We stand.
If we are daft enough to go down your road with the players you seem to think so highly of (Anderson and the like) we will have a repeat of last year out of everything C/L FA Cup league early doors and we wont be going to the final game to decide the league, you can put money on that.
Anyone wishing to discuss how good city are should fuck off to a city blog.
@ Glory hunter, or whatever – yes I did see city play, they had the superior possession against a newly promoted team at home, they also conceded 2 goals with their strongest team on the field.
United had the superior possession against a very good Everton side on their own patch, yeh we conceded a goal but we had a weakened defence and we failed to score, but you can’t judge the rest of the season on 1 game. The goals will come, I’ve no doubt about that and there will be games when city fail to score, will you be questioning their creativity then? Ever heard of the word perspective?
Did u watch rvp in the euros.same as bommel.dont be daft samuel.bommel is class n be objective no selective issues man.
So you lads that are taking cracks at Buttner should have a look at his pedigree.
He was an Ajax youth player for 5 years who didn’t make it for reason akin to why so many of our players.
To much competition in front of them. To be on the short list for the dutch euro squad coming from any but the top 3 sides is also impressive.
My suggestion, hold your thoughts until you give the lad a couple years to bed into the system. I recall thinking Evra a disaster his first year, always going to ground to easy.
We will see.
mancdub
why? we discuss how good Barca is why should we not discuss how good City are. Credit where credit is due mate. Too many just washed the threat under the carpet and labelled them as noisey neighbours. They may be noisey but they are also champions. Just because you discuss something doesnt mean you like it.
Shebangsthedrums
Do not waste your time my love………By the way, have you ditched your husband yet? I am single again and all ready! hahaha
UNITED UNITED
Reds Galore
Van Bommel is a bit too old isnt he and he does look like hes on his last legs. Give him credit he knuckled down after a wishy washy start to become a fine DM but its too late for him here.
James – 5 centre backs would usually be enough but injuries taking at least four of them would affect any team. Need more fortune to keep them fit, the 1-2months timescale for their recovery period for some of them is just painful. Maybe the fact some of our defenders are 22 below and are still growing, could be a reason?. Evans must be close to returning and rio kept fit for a long period last season, we may need to promote another pair of centre backs, can’t see many out there possessing the required ability for united.
I agree with mancdub 100%………..Anyone wishing to discuss the bitters should fuck off to a city blog
We need a “beast” in the middle. Where is Bebe?
That comment was a piss take
Good evening!!!
Goat even giggs legs gone same as scholes and rio.anderson has no legs in fact.so bommel is good gamble to play against stoke everton etc
Parry – all you’ve done is throw unrealistic targets around or players who don’t possess the necessary style to solve the issue against physical teams. Last season was last season, it’s gone and we need to move on. I’m mentioning the likes of anderson/Tunni because they’re actually squad members capable of stepping up rather than some peter-pan you’re making up to solve the issue.
City are good but there is no need to lick their arse even on a UTD blog considering most people including the media and even those who don’t follow football are saying that they are the best thing to happen since sliced bread. That is my opinion anyways.
Many little sickos jumping on the bed,
They all got fucked by a bunch of Reds!
Ten sicko sachus,
There’s only ten sicko sachus!!
I agree with myself and my other alter egos that far out number the rest of you that those who wont discuss football and only feel happy attacking others and their opinions should fuck off with cfag to the new forum – adios.
Not only city chelsea are good too.

For all of you in search of a technically aCcomplished ankle snapper, what do you think of oscar de marcos of bilbao? Not the biggest lad but in the box to box fletch mould. Don’t know about availability though.
Only a matter of days
ND58
FletchTheman – will never know why a player can’t be given the benefit of the doubt and be allowed time to flourish rather than judge because ‘pundits’ don’t like him. Buttner was footballing schooled at ajax, he’ll be great technically but obviously, his defensive strength will be what people want to see. I’d give him the chance and opportunity, may well displace evra sooner than anticipated. His defensive game will be worked on with the coaches, i’m sure of that. I’m just glad to see some cover, i was settling for brady and blackett.
brady will surely now try and fight for a place on the wing?
Goat
No, I was not referring to you. I generally direct my comments to individuals on the thread if I want address them. The reason I didn’t on this occasion was because I was addressing Cedars and we had already spoken about the individual previously.
If chicho goes to chelsea then manager shud swap with ramirez.too many options out there for mid but we only look at attack.im angry with that mid needs sorting out
Cfag? Ha ha ha
On a more serious note, tonight only reiterates we need not only a midfielder with strength, but also height and aerial presence.
Exactly, sick of seeing fellaini win every arial ball, i see talk about us winning the CL thats not gonna happen with if we don’t sort the problem out
The hairdo bullied carrick last, I tried to avoid seeing the goal again, but this evening while watching the news expected not to be shown but was damn wrong
Didn’t close my eyes though
Jeet – oscar de marcos. Quality player, suprised he isn’t linked with more teams. Energetic and technically good and ran united ragged in the europa league. when martinez leaves, no chance of signing him.
Cedars lol, no I haven’t and he’d ban me from this blog if he saw that, he often wonders why I spend so much time on here. It’s his fault for not liking football. I will save my breath, it just annoys me the negative reaction after one match, do people really expect us to go the whole season without a defeat?
Did anybody see Dembele’s performance at the weekend? I thought he was fantastic! Samuel – I know you don’t rate him but strong, athletic, physical can run with the ball and can pass. I think he’d fit the bill.
Proverb exactly mate.i like how u put down that point aerial ability strong physical brave and hard tackler
Farm Animal
I know I irritate the fuck out of you, simply because I have you sussed for what you really are all about
Samuel-united We stand.
Peter Pan?That the boy who never grew old.Anderson/tunni your mentioning because they’re squad members.Tunnicliffe I would agree has something for a bit further down the line.Anderson that like a fine wine takes six years and still hasn’t matured don’t make me laugh.I beg to differ about the players I mention not having the necessary skill/ability to do the job.And as for last year being in the past get real or do you require the past to revisit before you are convinced how horrendous our season could turn out to be.
Some ppl saw their momas tits being chewed by anteaters…#just saying…
Samuel – yeah, with martinez going they would be loathe to sell him…difficult one, no doubt about that
Dembele not good enough.are we buying belgians because city and chelsea n everton has some.we do what we want the united way.get martinez failing that get sandro imo
I was really pissed off at some of the UTD fags on here last night…. To turn on the players and the manager after one game, made my skin crawl..
Bottomline, yes we have some problems, but give Moyes and Everton credit. They wont play as well all season and they will be hard to turnover for ANY team at home.
plus side, Kagawa and DDG played well. Signing a player to push Evra is a good thing. Next we have fulham at OT. If we have a side come at us, which I think Fulham will do, watch this attack on the counter…….. Mark my words, this team has massive counter attacking potential. The main problem comes when teams park the bus.
I really think we will be fine against CITY, Chelsea etc… teams who will have a go and we will open them up. My worry is the fact we got bullied. The games against stoke etc away could be our downfall.
United till I die, not till they lose..
do beleive at times we’ve certainly missed that solidarity in middle of the park, someone who can grab a game by the scruff the kneck
Night night folks.see yous all 2moro.hope we sink fulham on weekend cant wait.bye bye

My ex became passionate about United after years of training! My current girl friend is Irish and cannot be arsed about football, funnily enough she loves rugby and goes bonkers when Ireland play! Bizarre!
Reds Galore
Didn’t realise we were buying Belgiums? My expressing an opinion doesn’t translate to United buying players? And since has “the united way” been buying Martinez or Sandro?
I’m in shock at some of the idiotic comments on this site
It’s frightening to know the shit that goes through some peoples small minds
Some people’s football common sense is just non existent

They turn up after every defeat mate, some of them don’t even watch the match, just check the score and read online reports before commenting. Nowt wrong with having a good moan after a game, and pointing out areas where we might not have performed, it’s natural but to come on and slats players and writing off the team is pretty laughable and unfortunate very normal on here nowadays.
The word is out there! The buzz is growing. It’s gonna shock the world! ND58

No disrespect to the author/owner of ND58 but I wont be joining. Another one in the bag! Welcome Angelo.
So, back to football, im pretty sure the Everton result will be a distant memory come the end of the season. Once we’re settled at the back and have RvP and Kagawa firing we will be right up there on our way to number 20!
butt muffin…replied to you reply….

but i have a feeling that he will be a revelation
50 shades thanks for the link
The scouting team having a great window
We are very luck to have this kid, he’s very talented and the fact that we currently do not have a strikers who can take on players aside from welbeck makes the deal whole sweeter.
He’s very good and can finish a half chance
pumping right now
He’ll be granted work permit which is great
Meaning that we will see him soon enough
Henriquez
Buttner
Powell
Kagawa
Van persie
Great additions
50 Shades:
Great news! How is it that we couldn’t get a work permit for a player a few years ago and do get one for Angelo. Well go figure.
Welcome to United Angelo!
Ermmm…….Can he play CB?
What pains me is that you wouldn’t see these cretins post when united win a match. We played with a makeshift defence away to everton-arguably the team of the week…Needless to say but city were not convincing at home against a newly promoted team; 3-2 ffs, neither was chelsea…What is the guarantee that a £30m midfielder will solve our so called media-magnified midfield problem; which they want us to believe it’s as worst as the corruption in my home continent. Enough of the moaning.
50 Shades of WillieRedNut
How many strikers are we going with this coming season? Jesus christ, Berbatovs days are obviously numbered to my anoyance but is another to go.?
does anyone else think that Vidic seem to have lost a lot of weight….after last nights game think this could be Rio’s last season….
memo to Costas the stat man….just how long has Rio’s contract got left on it…..
Berbatov is heading for the exit door, his days are all but over as a red devil
I wish him the best of luck wherever he might be headed
Welcome to United Alexander Büttner, welcome!
some one on here last night calling himself GEXMEX was stating that Chico was being put under pressure by the Mexican press …stating that if he aint getting 1st team footie that he should leave us….and I think i read that THE RENTBOYS RECENTLY INQUIRED ABOUT HIS AVAILABILITY…..
OOPS CAPS…..
Berbatov to Sunderland was a rumour i heard…..
berba bebe kiko should be leaving
great transfer this summer i am dreaming of one last deal a strong cm
my favourite player would be axel witsel
Goat one would think you’d have gotten over your annoyance by now seeing as Berba has had no future with the club for over a year.
A fan of FC United of Manchester had a blog called ND58, is it linked?
Goat
just reposting this from a previous thread dunno if that’s still active and it was a discussion i’m very willing to continue and get answers to:
The 4-3-3 formation is a very versatile one. Last time we used it we had players like ronaldo rooney tevez all interchanging and switching positions as all were pretty versatile and quick. Very fun to watch. Except we don’t have the same midfield supporting us right now, especially an injury hit one. Anyways it been a while since we’ve done 4-3-3 and that too with pretty much a new team so it’ll take some time for them to figure it out right.
Rooney might not be the brightest bulb in the bin but he has a natural instinct about his play. He has a footballer’s brain.
Fine, as a concerned United fan you’re worried about our reputation, seeing as idiots like Cashley and Terry the cunt have had worse allegation hit on them, and successfully proven. But then as such a concerned United fan you should look up into the Giggs case too. I’d say he’s more an ambassador to United then Rooney. The guy’s been here for much longer than Rooney, he’s come up through our academy, and is one of our most decorated players. It’s not even that hard, just a quick google search, or any tabloid rag would have it covered i’m sure.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not lambasting Giggs or Rooney. What they did was their own problem and as long as it can be sorted out and not come onto the pitch then frankly I don’t give a rats ass. But that’s just me and everyone is different in their approach to their club and it’s representatives. I’m just saying be consistent in what you believe then. Don’t excuse Giggsy just because you were not that into ROM, infact ROM was quietest about it seeing as it is one of our own we’re talking about and we’re not gonna have a Giggsy bash-fest here now are we?
Kagawa and Cleverly are our midfield enforcers? AHahhaha mate you gotta be kidding me. Have you seen the size of those two? I’m sure the likes of tiote and toure shudder at our two big huge enforcers in the middle of the park.
And just for this reason did you ever think maybe the gaffer himself told Rooney to help out in midfield? Because that’s what happens in most games and if the gaffer had a problem with it I’m sure he’d have made him cut it out by now.
Chico aswell if doesn’t improve I can see him being sold soon, but he’s bound to improve still young and promising
Still has a lot to prove though
Would love to see RvP start along side Rooney and for Gods sake Nani on the bench…. Rafa at RB, Valencia right wing, Young on the left…………Shinji and Carrick in midfield…That is if we get any of our defenders back!
Old Fart
I replied to your reply you old fool
Welcome to united buttner! Some posters askin that if he was good enough, why did ajax let him go. Well if barca knew how good alba was going to turn out, they wouldn’t have let him go and later pay 10s of mil of £ to get him back. Let’s pray this business turns out to be as good as that of vidic and evra.
Carrick’s talents are wasted at CB. I don’t understand how all of our CB’s are injured at the same fucking time. We needed Carrick to anchor that midfield last night, he definitely would’ve calmed the game down a bit for us to attack more ferociously. Anyways I hope we use RVP to our strength next saturday. We were passing the ball around him rather than using that cutting edge pass to find him in space. I was watching him and I could see he was making the perfect diagonal run into space but no one was looking at it. We’ve got take a chance next time, cause I know Kagawa will find him. Kagawa had an extraordinary game, but the rest of the team wasn’t on the same page. Also, DDG is quickly becoming one of the best goalies in the game.. he’s improving with every game and that’s good to see. Fellaini absolutely shat on us, but he did the same last season. Although there were a few cases where his elbows were a bit too high but went unnoticed. Back to the point, we need our CB’s back fit and healthy ASAP if we want to really want to put the last game behind us and forgotten.
ND58
I wonder which bright spark came up with that one?
Holmes ..HMMMM I WONDER…….
Its the natural course guys. From the dawn of era, empires rise and fall. Every empire rises and falls over a course of time. Think deeply and reflectively about that. There are tons of factors which will result in decline of Man Utd, city cash resource, arsenal reduced to feeder club (ie more transfers to Manchester teams) , fergie retirement in near future and Man Utd debt.
I am a supporter of Man Utd but these facts cannot be ignored.
Samuel
U seems to rate Blackett…must admit i have’nt see much of him(saw him play live in SA at leftback) and he was piss poor against poor opposition. I know he’s still young and maybe my judgement of him is unfair…surely hopes he proves me wrong. Brady were quite impressive though. I’m not gonna say a lot about last night except that Kagawa looked like the attacking midfielder we’ve been crying out for and cant wait for RVP to start his first game.
If Evra starts on Saturday I hope he is instructed not to cross the halfway line unless he is willing to bust his gut to get back immediately the ball is lost. He used to be the KING of the LB spot but lately when we lose the ball he makes little attempt to try and get it back.
I’ve always thought Nani to be better then Young but i’ll agree with Cedars on this one. I’d like to See Young starting on Saturday with Valencia on the right and Rafa at RB. RVP will be the main striker and hopefully Rooney and Kagawa are in there too. We’ve got to get the win on saturday I can’t take another loss. These Arsenal mugs are chirping too much.
MG
Better still, I wonder who came out with the whole idea of a new place?
Rio has 2 seasons tops he’ll be 35 when he retires.
I wish Buttner the best of luck, I am desperate for him to hit the ground running and displace Paddy.
Tony Bee -
Chico is under fire from Mexico fans after a terrible display. They are unhappy with his form and his game time at United. The fans + press have turned on Chicha because he never turned up for Olympic duty which is seen as unpatriotic. Sad really SAF thought he’d give the boy some confidence and fresh by keeping him here during the summer but it’s took the wrong turn and backfired, he’s 4th choice, low on confidence, doesn’t have the trust and support of Mexico fans and hasn’t been picked for the season opener, instead Berbatov !
Things get worse he about to get the boot out of the mexico starting XI, in favour of that striker who had a great tournament during the olympics….forgot his name haha.
Chicha can bounce back but he needs 1st team football desperately.
Brigadier’s Summary Thus Far After Match One Versus Everton Football Club
Good evening ladies and gentlemen,
Right here goes;
Obviously I am disappointed with the result of last night’s game, as I am sure that most others are. Some show dignified retorts and see the good points from behind the veil. Others however are just off the scale spitting their dummies out of the pram, taking their football away from the others because nobody will pass to them, hiding their chocolates because they don’t want to share and eventually they turn into fat odious screwed up bastards. They writhe around looking for redemption turning ever so bitter and raging with anger.
Well if its anger you’re after the Sicilian Division of the ABU Nation are lying in wait.
David De Gea – Oh yes is this chappie doing us proud, maturing ever so finely into what will become the best goalkeeper in the world. No doubt.
Nemanja Vidic – Great to see the boss back getting through the game unscathed. You wait till he gets in his stride fellas. We all know what he can do.
Patrice Evra – Going a bit slack whatever the reason we don’t know, however if it is competition for left back then the new signing Alexander Buttner has arrived and before anyone starts moaning about this kid because he isn’t a world star or well-known you would do well to remember that many have passed through the door of the Pantheon that is Old Trafford as unknowns but have been nurtured into fine gladiatorial thoroughbreds. I for one am excited about these unknown players who state it is a dream come true for them to play for Manchester United, these are the types of players I want at my club. Another one that has rolled through the doors is the striker Angelo Henriquez from Chile.
Tony V and Michael Carrick well we all know they were out of position, and that’s just the way it is, other players will come back when the time is right then they return to their own spots.
Nani had a terrible game and he would be the first to admit it. As for selling him after this. Give your heads a wobble. I admit that he was very frustrating to watch on this occasion. He may well lose his spot for the next game.
Tom Cleverley had a decent game for us and with Paul Scholes as his tutor then the future looks bright for this kid.
Shinji Kagawa yeah man this kid has got it. Excellent player and I predict that he will become our player of the year winning the Matt Busby Award.
Danny Welbeck did well and was unlucky not to pinch a goal for us. As for Wayne Rooney it wasn’t his most flattering display of football, however if he or anyone else needs dropping at any time then make no mistake about it Sir Alex will yield the axe.
Finally Robin Van Persie well this guy will ease into a rhythm I have no doubt about that.
Guys be patient, this is a work in progress and formations need to be ‘’tinkered’’ with but when the time is right I am sure that it will explode with great vengeance and furious anger.
It would also appear that Sir Alex should be fired, and that he has lost the plot. No?
It appears that some people only watch United because they win.
It appears that some people are ungrateful bastards.
It appears that others would do a better job in the hotseat of the greatest institution in the land. No?
Life is full of wants, and you don’t always get what you want.
Just be grateful for what you have got.
If you can’t be grateful, then FUCK OFF.
Need a new thread on Angelo Henrique. United have confirmed he finally got his internationl clearance to sign for us.
He will play his last game for his club in Chile Wed night then fly in to sign.
Now we need a CM.

Hopefully Henriquez will make the Fulham game. He can take over for Berba as back-up at DC.
@ Birgadier
Nail on the head mate. DDG was in beast mode. Vidic is, well, Vidic and will only get better with time and a real CB partner. Kagawa looks the business. Tony V and Carrick are wasted in defence.
My real worry after watching last night was how are we going to get Kagawa and Valencia into the same line up with out benching RVP or Rooney? Kagawa can’t play in a 2 man midfield and TV7 doesn’t strike me as a RF in a 4-3-3. 4-5-1 seems the only logical formation to include both players but then that either means Rooney plays out wide left, RVP wide left or one is on the bench. I wish SAF all the best in dealing with the striker selection head ache he has ahead of him. TV7 is a 1st choice winger, no question in my mind, but he excels in a 4-4-2. Unless Kagawa is played out wide left in that formation, which, doesn’t tickle my fancy either, I’m finding it tough to name a starting XI where both players are played in a position that allows them to flourish. Interesting times ahead…
Cedars I register as Brigadier19

Cheers big man.

I think tirelessly about this scenario and I can not come up with a suggestion, it is a embarrassment of riches for Sir Alex to deal with. So many options but I really feel that when he gets it together and it explodes then he will have his combinations. Going of injuries this will change all the time. I hope that he finds what is best for United and I don’t know why I say hope because he will do this. This will make everyone desperate for a piece of the action. I don’t believe for one minute that any player will be guaranteed a starting place. You do this then the opposition will know what to do, keep it mixed up and the interchanging during games etc will be very exciting.
I can not wait

Yes and of course I am the one with personality disorders you ungrateful soul. Some one who I thought I was friends here for so long, defended him, stood by him, he sang me songs and then at crunch time he denies it all and calls me a liar……
@ Brigadier
Absolutely. He seems to have made a few peculiar (to some) acquisitions this summer. Powell a CAM. Kagawa, a CAM, Van Persie a striker when we’ve currently got 4 that arguably start in most PL sides. Even this recent LB purchase speaks to SAF pushing his current crop to be better. Evra, in need of a kick in the ass. Rooney, thinking he’s untouchable. Most are crying out for CMs but what do his signings say to the likes of Wayne when he buys players that play in the 9 or 10 role (Rooney’s preferred slottings)? He sees a need. Brilliant I’d say. We have wingers fighting for starting roles, we have 5 CBs (4 are currently crocked) all wanting their time, we have 2 excellent keepers pushing one another, we have CMs all wanting to make their mark, show they’re worthy and be the 1st name on the team sheet. I’d say it’s a bloody scary atmosphere. Players on edge in training, sharp, attentive, working. I’d say nobody’s safe right now and the stench of any complacency has seen a clensing that would rival a shower of fabreeze.
utd_fc
Sure Ill carry on the discussion my friend.
I suppose your right I should google when Ive got time the Giggs affair. Do you mean the Imogen girl on celebrity big brother or the rumour much earlier of fucking a friends bird late 90´s i think?
And to be honest like I said previously on here about Rooney, Rooney actually broke the law by shagging a whore. Infidelity isnt against the law and as far as i know Giggs hasnt but like I said I will google. Of course any player acting the twat and their name plastered across the press should be an issue, to me in any case if not to others.
You mention the 4-3-3. Ive always seen United as a club that employs wingers, its been that way since time begun. Im not unwilling to change as we must keep up with the times but fear we are trying to copy Barcelona (all copies are never as good as the real thing) and destroying our identity and the way we play in order to get quick success. Just a concern.
When I mentioned Cleverley and Kagawa I didnt mean as midfield enforcers as personally Im not of the opinion it is vital. Alot hark back to the Roy Keane era but that was the time when tackles could be put in, a time when the majority of teams in the premier league had no more than 3 or 4 non british players. Now we see almost 65% of the first 11′s of premier league teams coming from outside the British Isles. Im not saying they arent tough but they are better versed in diving and getting players booked. Roy Keane now would no doubt be sent off 5 times a year. What I meant in the way of Cleverley and Kagawa was if Rooney stops stepping on their toes then maybe they will be the midfield force we have desired for so long. Strength through play rather than through bruises dished out. The only thing I see wrong with our midfield is the link between midfield and th strike force. We have very few players willing to thread passes through to forwards making angled runs. Usually its a quick look up, a crap one two with Rooney (previously explained) receiving a hurried pass back , quick look up again and play it wide. We or I atleast celebrate th efact that we have a fantastic zonal defensive midfielder in Carrick who forces the opposing team to pass out wide allowing nothing to go down the middle. Unfortunately we give the opposition a Carrick every time we play by the way we play. Great if you have wingers who can cross the ball (Young and Valencia when not at RB) but if Rooneys loan striker and already come deep for the silly one two the wingers often dont bother trying to pick out the loan man in Wellbeck and the ball gets passed back to the half way line or knocked about. Unfortunately we make it too easy for the opposition.

I can’t believe such an educated man like yourself has even been able to put up with all this duel username posting. Lets not forget its probably the same freak that stole yours.

I like your point of view in reply to Brigadier
You may well be onto something that we are not neccessarily after one or two world class individuals to knock others out the door rather a boost in numbers that provide much needed competition and fear. For along time Ive been trying to put across the idea of professionalism and fear drives that so well. Complacency has nearly wrecked United and I just wish Ferguson drops Rooney for 3 or 4 matches – to give him the royal kick up the cunt that boy needs. I dont want to see hime fail as everyone seems to think on here but Im not happy watching him fail and being untouchable. It sends out the wrong message. It is starting to look the business and hopefully it will also beef up competitiveness in training as well. I was masively surprised to read today from a poster that Fabregas had said that the training is tougher at Barca than in England (his only experience Arsenal granted) as I thought England prided itself on fitness and strength whilst the latin players prided on technique. Now it seems they have another corner of the market covered.

The dual-username conversationalists are irritating and frustrating. I don’t think that the current crop were responsible for usurping mine previously. Either way, they add nothing to the blog while wasting our time. However, they’re not evil and do not pose an insurmountable threat to our sanity.
One option is to contact StR with any misgivings. Another is to start a new blog.
There are other solutions, or approaches that can be adopted.
Accusing first-time posters that MIGHT be innocent is cowardly bullying.
Concerns can be taken to Scott, with substantive reasoning.
What is also NOT okay, is trying to take RoM’s flock away while abusing Scott’s hospitality.
Repeated endorsements of an alternative to our host is cheap and wrong.

TonyBee has been asking me to offer you an olive branch, so here it is, what was in the past is in the past as far as I am concerned
One can post whatever the fuck you want. If it’s unacceptable and the content outside the rules of the blog. It will be Imoderated . Simple .

What no playing policeman, but what do I do with my truncheon?
@ Goat
The same could be said of ambition-gate. He (Rooney) looked around him and saw the closest thing to him in Berbatov being shunned. He (with the ill-advised guise of his agent) thought let’s call his bluff. It worked. What message does that send to the player about security in the line up? Lord help me. He figured he was untouchable…RVP arrives? Now I’m not going to sit here and say Rooney didn’t play well after said contract. For the record, I think he’s a brilliant footballer and I’m glad he’s in a United kit. BUT, he needed a kick in the arse, a reality check, some times “man-management” doesn’t come in the form of a conversation off to the side.
Redbilly
Repeated advertising of a blog as an alternative to RoM is unacceptable.
I presume that you’re having a laugh at 22:25? Let’s consider an example of something that is “unacceptable and the content outside the rules of the blog” – how about racism? That’s unacceptable, I’m sure you agree. It’s not correct to think or say ” Be racist on RoM, post whatever you want, don’t worry if it’s outside the rules, the moderators will delete it for you”
You can’t post whatever you want.
Out of intrest i would’nt have minded seeing scott wooton play centre half last nite, granted it was only pre-season but i thought the lad give a good account of his self and deployed carrick centre midfield in his normal role.

Dreaded Red … Get off your high horse …ND58 is a forum not a blog…
Thanks for the update TonyBee.
Busby babes
I tend to agree, even though the idea of sending a lamb to the slaughter had Carrick been in his possition then Fellaini wouldnt have had as many chances, corners may not have been gotten, free kicks conceded and it may have been a totally different match. By playing Carrick out of possition 2 places were weakened. Play Wooton and only that one possition is weakened. But the boss obvious thought differently.
Hernandez needed to play , how he was the one to be replaced for Wooton and not Berba is quite as strange as SAF did not even mention Berba in the press conference , I say Hernandez because he thrives in these kind of games , packed defence and cross after cross put across the face of goal , not to mention he scored the only goal in this fixture last season.
New forum eh? Remember when some posters split off from Red Issue and started Fred Tissue? Are those guys still at it? Anyone know?
That’s quite alright ..
Last season we started well, unusually well in fact.
We cocked up the cups, but the League was always the main target, and it became more and more likely that we were going to be champions. We peaked too early, tailing off somewhat at the business end.
This season we will have adjusted accordingly, slightly altering our fitness arcs. Further to that, we had a Euro’s, always disruptive, and an Olympics. We were never likely to start as well as we did last season.
Add to that 4/5ths of a quality Big 5 of CH’s being injured, and the only fit one returning after 8 months recuperation. Throw in an unfit Rafael who probably shouldn’t have even been on the bench. Lose our best winger to sentry duty, and our consistent DM (28 consecutive starts) lost to the same cause. We did okay, perhaps even better than that, and had the result been different I’m sure that most would see it that way.
I,m thinking of starting a blog… I’m going to call it Reds-reunited…… How Scot won’t mind….

‘That’s all speculation of the press. Chicharito has a contract with Manchester United, and he wants to see that out,’. (metro)
Vidic 22:47 I absolutely agree.
De Gea was wonderful and I’m so happy to see Vidic again!
MG Oribe>Neymar lol
NBI – That’s a no go zone, evra at centre back. martin jol would exploit that, can’t take the risk. His form at left back has dwindled, can’t play him out of position.
AHAHAHAHAHAH GOAT that’s some amazing stuff you wrote there had me cracked up
Let’s sign Felani and win the title back
Goat
I agree with some of the points you’re making. Especially the one about Keane. I believe that if SAF wanted a new Keane he’d have gotten him by now and clearly we’re past those days as you so rightly said that Keane would be getting sent off every now and then. Also agree that us trying to copy Barcelona isn’t going to get us anywhere, but I don’t think a 4-3-3 system just means being Barcelona. I feel with Carrick as our holding mid, players like Anderson and Kagawa will have more freedom in the middle of the park to express themselves but it’s wingers like Valencia who will suffer most because 4-3-3 is a very fluid system and requires a lot of interchanging between the three forwards, and I doubt Valencia will be able to come and play down the centre or on the left (same with Young to an extent).
Rather than an enforcer we have Carrick the tactician who reads the game excellently. So many have lambasted the poor guy where as I see him as our most consistent performer (barring the times he’s forced out to CB).
Honestly I think we’re going to need to cut out the huge focus on wingplay as it is getting us nowhere, especially against tight and physically dominating defences. Rooney can power in headers now and then when he’s really up for it but this should be more one of two plans rather than our one and only Plan A. For that we need players like Rooney who are good with the ball ontheir feet and can distribute it well too. VPersie should be another player that can do that for us.
We’ll have differing views in general I guess but I can concede you’ve made some pretty good points. Still don’t agree selling Rooney is going to be anything but harm for us. Just go back to ambitiongate. When there were rumors of him going to City. You can’t seriously suggest the thought of him joining those merc cunts had you the tiniest bit worried
Also gonna add that if we’re planning on using VPersie (which I hope we are since we played 24 frikkin million for him!) then that’s another step for the crossing and over-reliance on the wingplay out the door. He’s nowhere near an imposing CF who would head those crosses in.
We just had an unfortunate injury to our defenders… Carrick isn’t a defender nor someone with a good jumping ability. Neither was Valencia. We’re bound to lose games…. and our players looked a little rusty.
Come on Utd! Win the next game to ease our hearts………..
utd_fc @ 03:26: ” I think we’re going to need to cut out the huge focus on wingplay as it is getting us nowhere, especially against tight and physically dominating defences. Very interesting and VERY controversial. UTD are just about the only team that now plays with two wingers AND two over-lapping full-backs; it will be a big change to switch to another system.
Denton
Agreed. I’m not necessarily calling for an end to our wingplay, because it can be thrilling to watch, and effective too but an over-reliance just makes our attack very easy to figure out, especially against top quality opposition.
Regarding our over-lapping fullbacks as well, maybe someone should tell Paddy to slow down and stop racing up the pitch, especially when it is not needed. He’s a fine tackler of the ball i believe, and I still rate him highly, so if he can stop pushing up forward all the time he wouldn’t get caught out as much. It’s not like he’s got his youthful energy anymore, so maybe it’s time to adjust his gameplay accordingly. Honestly I think as good as Baines might be, maybe instead of replacing Evra we just re-focus his energies, cus I think everyone here can agree that when in top form Evra makes him look like a chump.
Oh come on, half our defenders on Monday WEREN’T DEFENDERS!!!
Unless you’re “Admin”, Goodinson on the opening day with 2 defenders missing didn’t equate a guaranteed 3 pts. Scott gave a balanced reaction but I must say the arrogance from some is laughable. When they weren’t on the counter Moyes had 11 behind the ball, while our players had an untested plan of attack and a shoddy defence. A win would’ve been breathtaking imo, I fully expected us to lose or maybe scrape a draw if Everton weren’t up for it.
Thats not to say im not optimistic for the coming games, but lets be real. We might not go on an unbeaten run for a while thanks to our new system, and for what its worth thats a price worth paying. Despite all the moaning about midfield, Kagawa, Scholes, Cleverly and Anderson all had decent games did they not? On Monday we were let down in defence and thats hardly surprising with Rio, Evans, Smalling and Jones missing. The ref didn’t help either.
Thing is Valencia is half decent at RB so with a half decent CB pairing we would’ve probably earned a draw. Instead we had Vidic and Carrick fighting the odds for 90mins. Its just as well the next game is at OT, im more optimistic for a result, as even with our dodgy defence we have the talent to outscore anybody. The good news is we’ll have players back soon enough, maybe by weekend according to Vidic, so until then just get behind the Club.
Not necessarily a stellar signing, but if he adapts and develops well then he could be our no.1 LB in a couple of years. Even Bébé has shown some improvement from his first appearances and has shown he has good pace and can cross the ball as well. Mexès rumours are on as well as it is believed SAF wants to lock the back door properly this time to avoid any further unpleasant surprises
hi have any of you guys seen hector herrera in action ? what kind of a midfielder is he ? a playmaker, box 2 box or a gattusoesque ball winner ? any feedback boys ?
A playmaker from what I have read.
@mybloodismetal: I was just going to ask the same question, cheers!
Robbo – you don’t say! Fergie’s sudden bloodlust for tricky little playmakers knows no bounds!
So we are signing a midfielder?
Well its pretty evident that Sir Alex knows that the way Barca play is the model to follow..i hope rooney gets more match fitness as well as RVP. We will show them Haters
Just a tad worried about the mythical “Bolton on a cold Monday night”
United till i die – absolutely spot on. We were patched up at everton, if any team is built to exploit that then it’s the likes of moyes’ team. One of the key this season is to get more fortune regarding defenders, hope to keep them fit for a longer period. Fulham are on a high, it will be another serious test for united. No team will roll over, they all possess quality in their ranks
As for the little playmakers, blame it on barcelona. The lessons united got off them meant he has to embrace a more fluid system. City are there too.
I agree with people saying we need to add more variety to our play. If the wing isn’t productive then find some combinations through the centre, we have to be more adaptable and flexible.
I heard we are looking to get mexes on loan. Anyone heard anything?
Eric keane – if you watched mexes for france in the euros, you would want to steer well clear from the french man. I think he’d be exposed regularly in the premier league, doubt that will happen.
I have a feeling Johny Evans will play against Fulham, or will take a place on the bench as he make a comeback.

This guy can play, and scores goals galore
Bale type of player.
Play evra at centre back.sick joke imo.rather see berb there than paddy.anyone worried with the lack of height in our team?i know i am.
Someone send me the link for the new forum please.
Eric Keane
Not heard that? But does he still sport that fine thouroghbread ponytail?!
Mexes falls into fergies descripttion of deco.lady who can never cut it in the premier league.he play for france just becoz kaboul injured.dont want hhim man.
Eric Keane….. I have a famous London land mark to sell on the cheap……. Interested?
Mexes?! Gods save us all.
I can’t remember a time where I have wanted Jonny Evans SOO MUCH. Just shows you how important he was to the cause last season. It can only get better from here trust me. Once Carrick gets in that midfield, we’ll be dominating in there again. We have players who can keep the ball, carrick is just the stabiliser. His best position is by far in DM and as soon as Jonny gets back, we’ll be back to normal. I expect Valencia to be further forward this time and rafael to stay at RB he’s much more dangerous at RM.
Rooney and RVP will come good. It’s only the first game of the season.l By the time they get some fitness under their belt, they’ll be back to the Rooney and RV P we know. Make not mistake, Along with Kagawa, Rooney and RVP and the MOST IMPORTANT players in our team right now. They’ve got to start firing soon and they WILL start firing on saturday.
Besides hopefully the scouse mugs are up for it on Sunday and can pull off a shocker against city so we can quickly nullify our Everton loss. Looking forward to Saturday.
He will probably end up getting sent on loan, but I don’t know why Michael Keane isn’t given an opportunity. Evans was around the same age when Fergie started trusting him.
Paul Pogba has accused Sir Alex Ferguson of sour grapes over his departure from Manchester United this summer.
Ferguson claimed Pogba was being disrespectful by leaving United in the dark over a new contract before he quit Old Trafford in favour of a £20,000-a-week four-year deal with Juventus.
However, the teenage French midfielder insists he simply left in search of more first-team opportunities in Turin.
‘I don’t know why he said that,’ claimed Pogba. ‘A 19-year-old player who said no to Ferguson – maybe he took it badly?
‘There are things about which we failed to agree. I don’t regret anything. But you have to be part of it to understand my decision.
‘It’s a feeling I had with the coach. He trusted me but he didn’t play me, saying I was too young. He said “your time will come” but it didn’t.
‘I’m impatient. Now I want to become one of the best players in the world.’
Anyone see this interview w Lou Macari …. apparently saying the problem was the forwards and that RvP has to start??
Tell ya what Lou. Problem on Monday wasn’t the lads up top. Jaysus wept. Someone needs to create a second level of retirement for Lou.
Lou: “In my day….. ”
Fans: “Errrrrp”
Costas. . . Cheers. Would have been inspired to put Keane next to Vidic with Carrick in his usual place. Sorted.
To the poster who likes to call others faggots.
Just proved with your bile that you don’t read the blog.
STR does ban multiple username posters. He has done many times. So if STR allows it why does he ban it dipshit.
Anyone can get round it by hiding their ip address thats why the other forum has a log in system. WTF would anyone want to use another name on here anyway unless there’s something to hide? Oh and who are you to tell top Reds to quietly fuck off. We all support Utd don’t we. Hypocrite.
@Fletch
I’ve heard to Lou’s “expertise” for the last 10 years. No disrespect meant to a former United player, but he’s not exactly number 1 on my list when I am looking for a post game assesment.
Anyway, I know Michael playing would be a risk, but like I said, Evans’ first league game was at Chelsea. Sometimes you have to take risks instead of dropping our best midfielder back in defence. If December rolls on and Keane hasn’t played a lot, we can send him on loan then.
I’ve personally always considered blogs like this an added bonus. I don’t usually subscribe to a lot of blogs. Yeah blogs are nice for discussing united sometimes but I don’t take these blogs personal. If you have an opinion, you can express it and if someone chooses to disagree or agree with you then it’s fine. The purpose of the blog is just an avenue for a lot of like minded united fans to get to know each other and talk about the club. NO need for it to get personal. If you don’t like someone’s opinion then ignore the person. Personally this is the ONLY united blog I visit regularly and I’m quite happy with it. Good luck to ND58 and the members there but ROM is enough for me.
Abdul alansmith
I am pretty sure its your first ever post on here, and all you do is call others faggots…….
Do one pal, go find a nice big old oak tree and shove it so deep till it gets out of your mouth, bet you would enjoy it too, you sick freak
Well said James.
What I find baffling is that folk who have never contributed jackshit to RoM suddenly crawl out of the woodwork and start berating “the regulars” for not tolerating a fake poster who changes monikers for fun, has previous for id theft, and just yesterday made a totally inflamatory and ridiculous post taking the piss out of United, only to be confronted by his other (fake) alter ego.
And we have tried notifying STR in the past, unfortunately the blog isn’t geared to handle IP masking or IP changes.
And no, we aren’t trying to “steal” RoM posters, just generating word of mouth which STR has, to his credit, never had a problem with. Nobody’s forcing you to join a forum, and the “ignore irrelevant posts” works both ways.
The Internet economy (misnomer really, because the new forum is non-monetized) is all about sharing through simple hyperlinks and content sharing works both ways – so wake up to the fact that your views on what’s “unacceptable” may differ from others.
Finally some good images of Buttner signing. Knew they would come!

Welbz has signed his new contract. Brilliant news.
Danny Welbeck has signed a new four-year contract at United

Welbeck signs new deal.
Brilliant – hoping Nani follows suit
Great news about Wellbeck, glad he signed was starting to wonder whether he was being put off. berbatov still here and vPersie signed adds competition but when the Chilean kid was cleared to play Wellbeck must have started wondering. Great news.
Nice to see some photos of the new boy Buttner being invited into the family. For me atleast it means a great deal to see a new signed player posing with either Gill or Sir Alex. Puts a rubber stamp on the deal for me.

Are we still in for Schweinsteiger? Lad RTed this then says site pulled it moments later.
Probably a hoax. But interesting. Never a dull moment at this club. Kaka over the weekend was defo a hoax. This looks to be very suspect as well.

Great news
Was starting to worry
Fletch – a tiny part of me actually hopes, not just believes, its a hoax – you see, I made a public oath on RoM to quit the green stuff if The Beast came to OT…and like the whole world knows, my word is as good as money in the bank
Have we not sold Nani yet? Time to cash in me thinks.
Great news on Welbz, get IN

Its a tough crowd in here. I kind of admire your jumping in feet first but like football and life in general the one who cautiously makes his name known gets accepted were as the loud boisterous one gets ostracized. I understand what you were trying to say and see your intent was sound but like I said tough crowd. Its also not always a good idea as an unknown to jump into others battles, that will only get you attacked. Like you said if StR doesnt like it then he will erase posts. I would like to think the new blog/forum would be a two way thing where StR will get a nice link put up on their site – free of charge maybe?
Swings and roundabouts my friend no need to bring the broken bottle.
I beat willie to the news for once.
I read on twitter that last year our Defenders missed 70 games between them! SEVENTY! We’re already at 4 and we’ve only played one game! 70!!! Fuck me! Somebody tell me that if we could have brought that figure down by even 25% that we wouldn’t have won the league!!
Cedars – I’m not biting that, mate…
Cedars and Goat… You two fuckets have made it up ….
And I can’t feel the love…
This is the same guy who wrote this

It does look like we need another CB. It looks like Rafael despite signing a new contract is not the go to guy as of yet. Smalling and Jones will also be expected to fill in then on the right so even if we do get one of them back we may fix the RB possition and still have Carrick at the back. (not what i would do but sir Alex has ideas about other teams that I do not). We have two centerbacks that are in their 30′s, one seriously fucked back buggered and backs always lead to other injuries especially in the legs. We have two that are early twenties and only one in the middle. We are screaming out for another around Evans age.
I wouldnt be a fan of Mexes coming as I think he is complete garbage.
AWESOME NEWS about Welbeck. Shows he’s fine with the whole RVP arrangement. Good lad. Wish him all the best here and I guarantee that he will be a huge success here.
I’m not saying it aren’t true but believe me
90% of his teets are Nothing but a bile of crap
@MikeKelly
Hi mate. I am guessing the figure refers to just the regular back 4? Because all 8 defenders missed a hell of a lot more. A huge number no doubt. But lets not forget that half of those 70 games were a result of Vida’s serious injury. So since I doubt something similar will happen again, that figure should decrease this time. Vidic and Evra are our only reliable defenders when it comes to staying fit, so it will be nice to have half the defence taken for granted again!
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/9491377/Manchester-United-are-to-reject-any-offers-for-Nani-or-Javier-Hernandez-during-this-transfer-window.html
Sorry to burst your bubble Cedars you old hater!! I know you love Ashley but he can’t cross like our man Nani. Peach after peach against the toffees, did you see the one he sent straight to Fellaini?
Seriously though, I’m very glad we’ve got Danny’s signing wrapped up, I believe he will be our next big thing. The lad’s touches and link up play are fantastic, all he needs to do is start banging them in more regularly, and that WILL come with time.
Also hoping we get to see Carrick back in midfield again. Can’t have Scholesy doing 90 minutes, that’s just a travesty, on the club, the football and the man himself! He’s almost 40 now he’s a man not a machine.
Fuuuuuuuuuck all this talk of a new blog, ROM is the place for me.
Welbeck: “Playing for United is all I’ve ever wanted to do – it’s the club I’ve supported all my life.”
Costas
70 games missed by defenders last season: Vidic (32) Rafael (13) Fabio (7), Ferdinand + Smalling (6), Evans (3), Jones (2) & Evra (1)
Goat
I can see the problem. Javier Martinez would have been good in that case as he can occupy the CB position as comfortably as CM.
utd_fc – well nani’s crossing was not much useful against everton was it
What we are really lacking now is the “speed” of counter attacking. Our speed used to breath taking, but now, when we reach the final third, we start playing the tap tap football….allowing our our opponent to park their bus make it very difficult even against the weakest opponent is the league.
@Samuel – alright mate? Lessons are there to be learnt and Barca have defo taught us a thing or two. Thats not to say we should copy their style of play, to be honest we don’t have to, but as you said we do need an alternative to our reliance on the flanks. Cleverly Kagawa and Anderson are the future in that department, and considering we still have solid wing players like Valencia, Nani and Young we’ll still have options down the flanks. It will just take time to gel.
United’s chief scout in the Netherlands Ed van Stijn:
“Every season [United] ask all European scouts for a list of players. They ask you to create a top five of the best players in the league for every position. I had Buttner at number three or four on my list.”
It seems Fergie has seen something in Buttner everyone else hasn’t The lad aint highly rated in Holland. But We all trust fergie. Like everyone else I fear the midfield. Scholes was well off the pace against Everton and Nani you just dont know what your gonna get. I feel Young should be given the chance. As for Rooney well he seems lost. We got the best out of him just after Ronnie left where he stayed forward. at the minute hes always playing outside the box. He needs to trust in the midfield to provide him with the chances more. Also we missed Valencia on the wing and yes Carrick in midfield. Maybe Ferie should have trusted one of the younger lads in Defence. And Maybe should have brought on Young Rafael. Still lets look onto the next game. I have to mention that Kagawa was awesome
