theCount - We will be fine mate when Hargo back, as well as Ando retaining his fitness. In addition don't forget we have Fletch who is still only 25.

My humble opinion: we are top heavy with strikers and way too light in midfield, Scholesy (god bless his legendary soul) hasn´t got the stamina we need anymore, Carrick is an excellent midfielder but needs an enforcer alongside so he can play his passing game. The Midfield is where SAF should be looking at to improve United.

Failsworth - Great stories. Ronnie Wallwork, now thats a name I had forgotton. Also my first memory of United was the 83 cup Final against Brighton. That belter of a goal from Wilkins. 2-2 draw then hammered in the replay 4-0. Good times. Big Ron, fuckin Bailey in goal, Remi Moses and Muhren etc.

He's a top young player as shown by his goals (when played) and useful work rate at such a young age.

That's a really silly quote from a Spurs fan who obviously couldn't care less whether he has any sort of chance at Telford let alone United, and why should he? Campbell won't be at Spurs much longer.

Don't really see how his take on this helps.

We're better off looking at his performances for the U21's from my point of view and I'm quite sure United will be justified in keeping him after this summer in the U21 European champs

Failsworth, great reply, great stories, made me laugh, and brought a lump to the throat, so thanks. I love the brick story. Wish I had one....That pissing on the feet reminds me of a true story I heard as a kid. There's a little lad with his dad at a packed out FA Cup thriller at Watford (a real shit hole in the 50s when I first went there, not much better now) and he's absolutely busting for a piss and he keeps saying, 'Dad, Dad, can't you take me to the toilet?' and the Dad keeps saying, 'Can't you wait for half-time? Just hold on!' By now the kid is almost pleading when a man behind him whispers in his ear , 'Just have your piss in the bloke in front's pocket, he won't notice'. The kid whispers back 'I can't do that , of course he'll notice it if I piss in his pocket!' 'No he won't', says the man, 'I just pissed in your Dad's pocket and he didn't notice...'

Let's hope we piss on Sunderland today!

Giles, yeh defo talk about family from past from Newton Heath, Moston, Crumpsall, Collyhurst etc... we are all United... i think there is on blue nose that i can recall from the who family and that is a great uncle..

I got told that when they used to finish work and go watch the football, if it was that cold they would piss on there own feet mate to keep them warm lol..

They used to have a dog... for the Loco team, and when it was struggling for money the dog used to go round the pub with a box round its neck and all the men... working class men who didnt have halfpennys to rub together all put money in to keep the team going..

Im from failsworth which is about a mile from old loco site, so have been brought up, dragged up united... and never regretted it..

I remember at the age of 8 in the 83 cup final scriking my eyes out when we scored a goal... remember my first game my old man took me to, was Everton at home... i was about 6 i think... in the K Stand, there was everton fans in there as well...i actually dont remember much about the game... just remember some everton fan giving me toffees lol... i remember when my mam n dad first let me start going to the game with my mates at 13... was quality... into the stretty paddocks as it was cheaper... and the older lads and blokes would help us jib over into the stretty end to be in the mix of it... was quality...

Those were proper united days... not like this corporate shite you see walking round outside the stadium now... i get sick to death of being mivered for a fuckin credit card... when i actually get the chance to go... i prob only get a dozen games a season now..

For fucks sake, Nobby Stiles nephew buried my dad... at my dads funeral i did United songs in church for him...we are manic reds the whole family..

My old man was good friends, and played in the same youth team in Moston for years... and boxed with Jimmy Kidd (Brians brother)..

Received a signed Oil Painting from Paddy Crerrand on my 18th birthday..

Been for a meal with Garry Neville at the Midland when i worked in travel as Garry is the UK Ambassador for the Maltese Travel Association.. and he is a pretty sound lad..

A friend of mine used to play for us as well... Ronnie Walwork, and often catch up with him in Tesco Failsworth, as he has moved back to Woodhouses now..

Did fanzone on Sky for united v wolves in the cup and did an interview at my house on sky sports news... for which my lad was only a week old and he was on it too... so that was a good bit of memorabilia to keep on DVD..

I got done for getting into OT in the middle of the night years ago pissed up.. early 90's maybe 94 i cant remember what year... when they were redeveloping the ground putting seats in... and i got nabbed nicking some of the bricks from the stretty end.. but i charmed me way out of it... and still got the bricks to this day in a show box.. when i met my missus 5 years ago... she thought i was a crank when she found these bricks in a box one day lol...

My son when he was born was at OT within a week of him being born... he is brainwashed as i am lol...

The only regret i have is giving my ticket up in 2001 when my job took me abroad... but mind u i couldnt afford a season ticket anymore now anyway..

Anyway... going back to the kids... i wasnt on about putting the likes of Ravel Morrison etc etc in the team today.. .

I was saying we could do with blooding them now and next season...

I know i am too harsh on Welbeck... just sommat about him that i cant relate to him making it... and i know that his references from the youth etc are exceptional and has been dubbed the most promising kid to come through the ranks for years... i dont know though... its just sommat... but thats my opinion... i just cant take to him.... but i will say that he looked better in the wide position i think against spurts... he looked more useful there..

All i am trying to say and have always said about the other kids is... "if your good enough your old enough"... thats all i mean.. and would get more pride out of these kids coming through... i just love to see them when they are pumped up... adrenalin going... no fear... thats what i like... and i just dont see that in Welbeck... but i hope im wrong... i really do... if Welbeck turns into a united legend... then i will eat my words... happily.

I find it astonishing that Welbeck is being written off.

"One chance at OT?" mate you have to make the most if it when you're thrown into cup ties as a youngster the likes of Eagles and Kieran Lee didnt but Welbeck looked lively against Boro, won a pen against Derby, scored against Southampton, scored against Derby(two classy classy goals which Rooney would have been proud of)and in his Premier League debut got a goal!.

Macheda scores one goal and everyones jizzing their pants over him, if Welbecks shot went in no one would bat an eyelid about Macheda going back into the reserves.

I am thrilled that we have so many promising players coming through the ranks and I think its ridicilous that you are suggesting we bomb out an 18 year old whose impressed whenever he's played.

Oh and I hope Lee Martin never gets into the pitch ever...my girlfriend fancies him.

And as for advocating bringing in the likes of Petrucci (injured btw), Norwood and Morrison (both away with the academy in Italy) for tomorrow's game at Sunderland when they've barely even played reserve football... ridiculous. We're in the midst of a huge title challenge, it's a quite ridiculous suggestion to start experimenting with young players at this stage, in an away game that shouldn't be underestimated (no game should be in our current form).
