Manchester United have obviously endured a mixed campaign this season. We have remained grounded in the sixth position in the Premier League for over 100 days, but have finally started the rise, and that has increased our odds at 10bet of qualifying for next season Champions League.
With 11 games of the season left to play, United are currently four points behind Liverpool in fourth, but have two games in hand.
We were considered amongst the favourites for the Premier League title at the start of the season but a run of average results has seen us struggling to make that position in the top four our own. The question now is will United feature in the Champions League next season?
Since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson, in the summer of 2013, United have qualified for the Champions League only once. While it is likely that Jose Mourinho will still be able to draw in top talent even without Europe’s elite competition, there’s no denying that another season without Champions League football will have a negative impact on the club.
While it would obviously be preferable to finish in the top four, to make our place in the competition secure, there is always the option of qualifying by winning the Europa League. Ferguson claimed this week he would love to see United lift this trophy, given it is something the club has never won.
We are one of the strongest outfits left in the competition and have been handed a generous draw for the next round.
United can take some positives from being dumped out of the FA Cup by focusing more on securing qualification via the two options available to us.
We have been disappointing against the weaker teams this season, dropping silly points at home in games we’ve utterly dominated. With a tough run of fixtures ahead, maybe playing bigger teams will bring out the best in us.
