Laurent Blanc is flavour of the month at the moment after winning the league with Bordeaux and currently standing top of his Champions League group, which contains Juventus and Bayern Munich.
Back in May, RoM looked at the reasons why Blanc should replace Sir Alex Ferguson, but Eric Cantona wants him to be the next manager of France.
“I think that Raymond Domenech is the worst coach in French football since Louis XVI,” added Cantona, referring to the French king who was executed by revolutionaries in 1793 and is commonly depicted as an indecisive, dithering monarch. “If it was up to me, I’d put Laurent Blanc in charge of the France team. He continues the season with Bordeaux, he wins the league with Bordeaux and he wins the World Cup! I’m not the only one who thinks that.”

It looks like blanc has a long way to go. Wonder where he’ll be when SAF retires.
Seeing as it looks inevitable that he’ll coach France, I’d rather he did it straight after Domenech’s departure. Let him take them back to being a respectable force in the game. Whilst fulfilling that ambition, I’ve no doubt it will build his appetite to get back into the club side of things, which most managers prefer.
He’ll doubtlessly also have that ambition to prove himself in one of the best leagues, and there will be plenty of time to do that.
Larry could easily spend a long time at United and then manage France, but the French calls for him to succeed Domenech will be overwhelming. I’d rather he didn’t come to us with plans for the future.
Anyway, that’s in the ideal world. Anybody who has watched the game long enough knows that football is never so straight forward.
Id be very unhappy if Cantona was to somehow become our next manager, brilliant player and Utd legend but not management material in my opinion.
I’m hoping for ole as our next manager personally! Like guardiola did at Barcelona somebody who understands the club and it’s fans!
