Carragher: I’d Do The Same For Owen

Michael Owen has agreed to appear in Jamie Carragher’s testimonial, where a Liverpool XI will take on an Everton XI. This of course means Owen returning to Anfield wearing a Liverpool shirt.

Carragher has today responded to questions about Owen’s decision to do this.

“He’s doing it for me. He’s a good mate of mine. If the boot was on the other foot, I’d do the same.”

Would you wear a United shirt? Carragher paused and let out a big sigh.

“He’s not going to be there for ten years so I don’t need to worry about that.”

  5. FletchTHEMAN says:

@GHTT Very funny, the lad would be 40 by my calculations. Have to wrap him into storage, or possibly cryo, to keep him healthy for that long. Especially with United physios, HA ha. So I won’t be holding my breath. Would be priceless though.
In the mean time, could one of you lads with some image larceny skills, paste up the photo.
40 year old Owen, and 41 year old Jamie in the 2019 testimonial match at Old Trafford. ROM will have gone global by then so we can expect the ROM logo on the 2019 shirt, of course.

  6. LT says:

10 years? I hope the Scouse tosser leaves United within the next few days.

  7. Shobo says:

I don’t see what the big deal is, at the end of his career Owen will be remembered as a Liverpool player, not a United one (no offence meant).

  8. Costas says:

Don’t tempt fate Carra, or we will keep him until 2019, lol.

  9. Tony Starks says:

Isn’t it at the end of the season? Owen probably won’t even be here then…

  10. TonyBee says:

THATS THE ONLY WAY YOU WOULD GET A UNITED SHIRT ON YOUR BACK YOU FUCKING DIPPER CUNT.

  11. Lanaya says:

    Give Owen a testimonial match!!!

  12. Joe says:

Why give owen a testimonial? He’s fucking shit. Wish he’d take his helicopter and fuck off, leave a place in the team for our youth players who are twice as good as him. Scouse midget cunt.

  13. Dilardo says:

Joe – don’t hold back mate, tell us what you really think.

I hate Liverpool FC, their stupid dipper fans and everything about them.
I have an iota (just the one) of grudging respect for Carragher – he’s not a Tory. he put £10,000 of his own money up to support Labour leadership candidate Andy Burnham. And, he’s pledged the money from his testimonial to charity.

I hate Chelsea FC, their stupid rentboy fans, and everything about them. I hate Didier Drogba, but respect the humanitarian work he does.

I hate City, their giddy wrong ‘un fans and everything about them. I hate Craig Bellamy, especially for his stupid face, his lack of self-awareness and the fact that he was a dipper previously as well. However, even he redeems himself by doing great charity work in Africa ON THE QUIET.

So, let’s get things in perspective here.
Don’t get upset about Owen doing a mate a favour to help him raise some money…
