Carrick: Giggs is a legend

Ryan Giggs has arguably been United’s best winger this season after putting in some great displays on the left wing. Last night he assisted two of Robin van Persie’s goals which helped seal United’s championship.

Michael Carrick, who was shortlisted for the PFA Player of the Year last week, has sung the praises of Giggs who will still be playing for United in his 40′s.

“I keep talking about him but what else is there left to say?” said Carrick. “It is sensational that he is still able to do that after all this time. It is not just physical, it is mental, having the drive and desire to do it every day. The league wasn’t won tonight, it was won all season with all the work we have put in. Ryan is out there training every day. The standard he has set is unbelievable. He is a legend. It is a throwaway comment too often. But he is the legend really. It is a pleasure to play with him and work with him every day.”

No words left to describe this legend. Enjoy it and tell your grandkids.

Let’s face it he’s a one/two punch with Sir Alex with the new lads coming in,he bleeds red and white, sets the standard and ingrains the Utd way into young kids coming through.Just having him around is invaluable but when he still performs on the field and still works hard in training just adds to his aura.
