William Carvalho has become the latest player to admit that he could be a Manchester United player next season, although is keen to wait until the end of the season before making a decision.

“It’s nice being praised and to know there are some big clubs interested in me,” he said. “It could be Manchester United or Real Madrid. It’s just nice to have a great European club after me, but at the moment I’m just totally focused on Sporting and doing my best until the end of the season. At the end of the campaign, we will see what happens.”

The defensive midfielder made his way up through the ranks at his current club, Sporting Lisbon, but this is his first season to be a regular in the first team.

The 21-year-old was first called up to the national side last November and is now almost certainly guaranteed his spot on the plane to Rio in the summer.

United have reportedly watched him live eight times already this season.
