Reaction To Derby… Hmmm

In the games where we haven’t got the result we wanted or just scraped a 1-0, it’s usually been a game we’ve totally dominated. Tonight was an entirely different kettle of fish. Poor doesn’t come close to describing that performance tonight and there is absolutely no excuse for it.

Southampton Boss: It Was A Normal Tackle, Not A Red Card

Southampton Boss: It Was A Normal Tackle, Not A Red Card

Manchester United beat Southampton 3-0 yesterday in a game United controlled and dominated, as you would expect. However, there were several talking points after the game. Firstly, replays showed United’s first goal, scored by youngster Danny Welbeck, should have been ruled out for offside. He wasn’t standing in an offside position when the ball came [...]

Opportunity Lost… Teams Have Sussed Us Out

I wonder when we will look like scoring again. The only league game in the past month or more where we’ve caused our opposition serious problems was against Stoke, when we battered them 5-0. Against the likes of Sunderland, City, Villa and Arsenal we have completely dominated the game, in terms of possession and shots, [...]

Thank God It Wasn’t ‘One Of Those Days’

You know things aren’t going your way when the crowd cry “SHOOT!” when the goalkeeper comes to collect the ball close to the half way line. It was just one of those days. It didn’t seem to matter how many chances we created, how much possession we had, or how much time we spent in [...]

Tevez: Four Goals Is Better Because It’s For United

Manchester United thrashed Paul Ince’s Blackburn 5-3 in the League Cup, with Carlos Tevez getting his name on the scoresheet four times. Having lost his first team place since the arrival of Dimitar Berbatov, Tevez was keen to make an impression on Sir Alex Ferguson whenever he was given a chance, which he certainly did. [...]

Holt: City Still In United’s Shadow

The Mirror‘s Oliver Holt is a man I rarely agree with. Emily Bishop’s son tends to be more critical of United and Sir Alex Ferguson than is ever necesary, but following our derby day victory, it would be hard to find fault with our performance. Even with ten men we were the better team, leading [...]

Sparky: City Nowhere Near United

Wayne Rooney nonchalantly delivered a dig in City’s direction this week, claiming that despite the money they had, he would start worrying about them when they stopped lingering around the middle of the table. Well it’s happened, City certainly aren’t a mid-table team any more. They are 14th, above 15th placed West Ham on goal [...]
