Chelsea Boss, Carlo Ancelotti, has spoken about the ‘United way’ of playing football ahead of our match this afternoon, with him giving credit where it’s due to our manager and team.
“This year I think United have played differently,” said Ancelotti. “Last year, they had Ronaldo as a striker. They no longer have him but have still improved a lot. Rooney, this year, did a fantastic job, along with United’s wingers. A lot of matches were tactically very good. They don’t allow any chances, are very compact as a team and prefer to defend well and counter. They’re very able to do this because Nani, Valencia and Giggs are very fast and have technical quality. Sir Alex Ferguson is always a very good coach and this year he had a lot of problems, starting the season without Ferdinand and Vidic but still playing in the United way. This is important. They have a very clear identity of football and have maintained it. In the very important games this season they’ve used only one striker, Rooney. That was enough because he’s scored 34 goals but they used the wingers to control the right side and counter.”

Man Utd News 24/7

He did call us a one man team back in Januray. We not worse or better without Ronaldo – we have just coped really well with his loss, and this was achieved by players raising their game and stepping onto the plate.
Fair play to Carlo anyway.
Onean team
Sir Alex
following the ways of one man sir Matt
Lets go boys, GET STUCK IN LADS !
SAF = Legend
As long as he is at the helm – we’ll be ok!

hopefully the players will respond well against chelsea
@ sinred
i don’t think he cares considering that he just stated to the spanish media that he hopes that madrid are the last club he plays for in his career.!
I know that some football fans complain that we come across as a one man team (that one man being rooney instead of ronaldo this season) but it’s been when (part of) our defense has been missing and not our talisman that we have struggled the most and even rooney himself makes a point of passing on the praise to the whole team and i think he even gets a little embarrassed when the press paint him with the same ‘god like brush’ as they’ve done ronaldo for the last 3 yrs, just unlike ronaldo rooney doesn’t get sucked to by his own hype.
Perhaps there is less magic in our team this season but i think the majority of utd fans are probably enjoying the lack of ego and how the players just want to do their job, work hard and move ahead positively instead of basking in ones past glory for too long!
Carlo Anchelotti bit of a tosser isn’t he.
Could have done with Ronnie today TBF.
