Chelsea Captain: Nev Is My Role Model

Gary Neville was called back in to the England squad for the World Cup qualifiers, which is rather odd, considering he’s behind John O’Shea in pecking order at United and has hardly played this season.

Still, England and Chelsea captain, John Terry, has today claimed he is impressed with Nev’s hunger and regards our captain as his role model.

“It’s fantastic to see his hunger,” Terry said. “I’ve always said he’s been a great role model, to me included. He’s a great player to have round the squad. If players are out of the squad, Gaz has shown if you work hard and play well then you’ll get your chance back in the side.”

Well, that’s nice. But contrary to Capello’s suggestion, Terry is no role model of ours!

Fair play to him for that comment. And fair play to Scott for digging up that image again! It never gets old!

  2. gotta hate tiny tears says:

    calling neville his role model
is a slap in the face for neville
because tiny tears is the worst top flight captain ive ever seen
he’s a disgrace his team act in disgracefull manors
    and he defends them
when you look up to a captain (giggs with robbo nev with keane) you learn from them and there is no way terry learned anything
so these are just words with no true meaning behind them

  3. RED_ARMY says:

im not sure if this is true or not but i’ve heard over and over again that terry grew up being a united supporter….

  4. King Eric says:

RedArmy- True I think mate. Fair play to the “British Bulldog” .

  5. Anant says:

Red army – true . think i’ve read he even trained with united at some point of his childhood . fergie wanted him to sign for us as well . cant seem to recall why he chose chelsea though

  6. TonyBee says:

GHTT….. spot on Crybaby cuntface isn’t fit to lick Nev’s boots, the pox ridden bastard…… RedNev leads by example not by backstabbing every fucker who disagrees with him like that twat

  7. john ferry says:

Terry should shut his mouth !!! He’s not fit to say the name Gary Neville.

  8. wazza says:

@GHTT : spot on mate. if Gazza was Terry’s role model then he has learnt fuck all. it must be a tactic to get behind Gary by Terry and Capello given that Capello was criticized for selecting Gazza in his squad. Terry would have definitely not come out and said that if he was not the poor captain.

  9. Manchester united forever says:

@wazza- That can be a possibility.
Offtopic- Just watching the chelsea match at OT for 3′rd day running and i was wondering why can’t ronaldo play on the left. He was absolutely fantastic on the left against chelsea . We had a great system(4-4-2) that day with rooney given the free role. Just add a replacement for giggs and nev and we would have a great team at our hands. What do you guys think about the system we played against chelsea?

  10. Red-Manc says:

    Gary Neville, fucking legend!

Every player respects this fella because he is a role model without question, a red through and through and would die for this club so im glad to see he has all the medals he could ever dream of and pick up some trophys as captain.

nice from terry to say such a thing, but he hasnt payed much attention to red nev because terry is a racist thug who isnt even in the same league as Gaz.

    Gary Neville is a red is a red is a red…. ;)

  11. 9jmac says:

Yeah, well Terry is still a cunt ;)

  12. macha says:

    what he said!

  13. Red Rupert says:

nothing “rather odd” about it at all. Neville didn’t have the match fitness to come in at a vital stage of the season. He’s struggled all year with his fitness. Now, it sems he is fit. Not very odd at all…….and even if he was behind O’Shea (he isn’t) it would be because O’Shea’s form has been outstanding. Not difficult.

  14. hunts says:

still united and englands best right back when fit.

  15. Drew Vader says:

I disagree Hunts. I’d say that belongs to Wesley Brown

  16. five says:

Glen Johnson and Brown are both better then the legend that is the Nevler.

I wouldnt be surprised if the reason Capello called him up was for the influence he has on the locker room?

  17. Kings says:

On a different topic – Perez: “I will do everything possible to get Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid”. How can this fucking bastard get away with saying things like this!? It’s tapping up and he should be pulled for it. Double standards.

  18. Costas says:

KIngs i have found something else interesting in Perez’s comments. He said that he won’t go after Xabi Alonso because he sees that Liverpool don’t want to sell him. Why hasn’t he said the same thing about Ronaldo?2 reasons.1)We have left a door open for him to buy Ronaldo.2)He doesn’t understand Gill’s accent when he says no.

  19. rite$h says:

lol funny pic, united scores vs chelski and he fists benitez to ground!
unfortunately neville’s time is up, but can still be useful in cup matches as well as replacement for injured defenders :)

  20. gotta hate tiny tears says:

Alonso must feel like the most wanted fella in the world
    “ok, your going to arsenal”
    “ok thanks for everything”
“oh no wait we need ya barry wont leave villa”
    12 months later
    “ok, your going to Real”
    “ok thanks for everything”
“oh no wait we need ya barry went to city”
    @Kings
you are right about the tapping up . But as we’ve seen the last 2 years
they can get away with it no matter whos saying it

  21. Costas says:

And another thing on the Ronaldo issue. AS(or ASS, depending on what you prefer) report today that the Ronaldo deal is done,it will be announced before June 30th and that Fergie has accepted that Ronaldo will leave.I wasn’t letting Spanish rags get to me last summer but i would appreciate some sort of clarification by the club.We can’t afford to lose both Ronaldo and Tevez.

  22. Radio Deadon says:

Red manc your spot on mate, Terry is a fucking racist. Still remember the incident with Ledley King at Spurs a few years ago – the racist piece of shit – His role model is Nick Griffin not Gary Neville.

  23. ROJO RED ROT ROUGE says:

Who gives a solitary single fuck what John “caution floor may be slippy” Terry thinks about anything.

I love the vid of GN knocking the FSW out – pissed my little sides I did.

  24. joero says:

    @ Costas

If thats the case, role on the 30th June. Also, Ronaldo needs to have a hernia op according to various sources. I’m not sure what the recovery time is for a hernia but its possible he may miss the start of the season again? Any one get any medical knowledge?

  25. ROJO RED ROT ROUGE says:

@costas – we can afford to lose Tevez and Ronaldo as we still have an abundance of really special talent. Onwards and upwards fella – Thanks Ronnie Thanks Carlitos now sit back and watch us get even better than ever. We will come back with a vengance next season – with or without them.

  26. ROJO RED ROT ROUGE says:

@ KINGS – You are absolutely right mate – completely blatant tapping up – unless of course they know something we dont ? If the deal has already been done a while ago then they are maybe finding it hard to keep shtum so they can look like they have pulled off the impossible. Fergie getting so irate could also be because the deal was done with the proviso that they (Real) say absolutely nothing to anyone so as not to destabilise the rest of our team.
Time will tell and Fergie would get the lawyers onto such blatant tapping up if the Uefa monkeys had not acted to intervene already. You cannot be accused of tapping up a player you have already agreed to sign though can you ?

  27. Costas says:

    @joero:

I remember Scholesy having a heria operation in 2003. I think that it took him 5-6 weeks to come back, but it was a longterm issue for him. I think that Ronaldo picked it up and dealt with it early. From what i hear,he might miss our trip to Asia but he could be back after that. I think he will be ok for the start of the Premiership. As far as the rumors are conceerned, remember it’s AS that had the info. AS and Marca are the vehicles Real use to pile the pressure. But i do think that United need to clear the air. As i said above, Perez has backed off Alonso because Liverpool have clarified that he is staying.

    @ROJO RED ROT ROUGE

No doubt,we can bounce back. But i do think we would be entering a transitional period in our attacking style of play.I am not worried about replacing these two.We will have the funds to do it.But whoever comes in,it will take them a while to adapt to our play.

  28. Red_Ruth says:

Forget asking Ronaldo to come out and clear up these rumours, over the past season he’s many times that he’s happy. Ultimately while he might still harbour that “dream” I dont see him handing in a transfer request. Now it’s time for the club to put out a statement.

  29. corea says:

instalments ? fuck off, 100 mln and immediately!
but i don’t believe it. it’s only AS.
    but we must stay strong.
