Frank Lampard, who will probably be captain next season after “Mr Chelsea” moves to Wastelands, has spoken in full praise of Wayne Rooney today. Lampard, who has played alongside the likes of Gianfranco Zola and Steven Gerrard, reckons Rooney is the best he’s played with.
“Wazza is the best I’ve played with,” said Lampard. “When Wayne exploded on to the England scene at 17 I’d never seen anything like him for his power. His awareness is exceptional – it’s his key strength. Zola is top class as a player and coach. But the football Wayne is producing for England makes him a very special player.”

Good man Lamps – Rooney’s got much more to his game than Zola ever had.
Scott how sure are you on John Terry going to Wastelands? Sure enough to bet a King’s ransom? I just dont see it happening though. Wazza is pure class, without question. Fuckin’ love the lad.
Well done Frank – well said.
I think Frank is a gentleman, always polite in his interviews, not flashy or arrogant. Would love to have him at OT.
When he was sent off against the dippers last year for a foul that hardly deserved a yellow never mind a straight red, he didnt shout at the referee – he just calmly walked off, the picture of restraint.
not that i give a flying fcuk what lamps thinks but for you so called Man utd fans that criticize Roony you are dumb, and next time you are in the pub when we play pay more attention to the TV screen, probably never been to OT. and never will. foolish idiots. ” sorry i feel quite strong about the Roony subject” He is worth 10 Agueros.
Goes by the name of……
O and whilst im in the mood that Cat<alan fella is that a ref to you being a Barca fan.
terry will go to middle eastlands, money talks and he wont get a better offer EVER.
as long as we get eto’o im not arsed what city do.
I hope we don’t go for Eto, I think it’s higly likely he will fuck up our moral and talk shit to the papers like Tevez did. It’s also likely that his arrival would force Fergie to put Rooney on the wing again to make room for everybody. I’m more than happy with our strikers today.
1. Rooney
2. Berbatov
3. Owen
4. Macheda/Welbeck
But Lamps is right, Rooney is world class.
City are welcome to Terry. He should have been stripped of the captaincy after the Champions League Final. Not because he missed a penalty, but because he subsequently failed to lead the team and gave up the trophy. After his miss, the scores were level. Everything was still to play for. But what did Terry do? Go back to his team-mates and exhort them to make up for his miss? Did he urge them to keep their chins up and go for victory? Isn’t that what a captain is meant to do? No, he crumbled like a cissy, crying for himself and utterly abandoning his so-called “Mr. Chelsea” captain’s duties.
Did Ronaldo fall to the ground weeping when he missed his penalty kick? Of course not. If anything, it seemed to make the Manchester captain and subsequent United kickers more determined. But Terry’s pitiful laying on the ground in forlorn defeat told the rest of the Chelsea team that this was it… they had lost… the game was up… Terry admitted defeat… kaput… finished. This wasn’t a captain at work. It was a glory hunter who could not see beyond his own misery and his self-indulgence and self-interest on that night forever labels him as the captain who undeniably deserted his team at the moment they most needed lifting. All the theatrical fist-waving and bellowing that Terry exhibits in his routine captaincy methods counted for zero as he folded, blubbering, with a Champions League trophy still attainable.
Imagine Terry doing the same thing in the World Cup Final… with the scores level and him weeping and gagging, sitting on his backside on the pitch, leaving the rest of the team captainless while he bemoans his personal bad luck. Terry capitulated. Whatever the pressure or excuses, he was not up to it. He choked absolutely and feebly when it mattered.
50million for this fellow would be a godsend of miracle proportions.
you should write for the papers ^^

” you should write for the papers ^^”
Nice one!! Hahaha.
John Terry is all about himself. He wants the spotlight. Think about when he “slipped” over. He only took that penalty because he knew he could become the all time biggest hero. He hit the post though didn’t he. Good night that was. Not the morning after though.
Fair play to Lamps. I always hated him because he was quality and he played for rentboys, and he was appauling in the World Cup. This season I realised he’s actually a decent honest bloke.
ROONEY ROONEY ROONEY. I love Wayne Rooney so much. What a player, is anyone better.
I think Tiny Tears will go. He is too fucking greedy to turn down that sort of money. Mr Chelsea my arse. I personally think that tag belongs to the man above, Lampard. It is funny actually I was listening to talk sport this aft and they had a couple of ex Citeh players on and they and Cundy were saying that they can’t blame Terry for wanting to join. “Who would refuse that sort of money?” Er Giggsy and Scholesy for two! It summed the Rentboys up when former player and fan Jason Cundy said unless they get a “Marquee signing” then he is right to go. Who gives a fuck about big signings its the balance of a team that count a la United.
One of the ex Citeh players even said that they believe Tiny Tears is THE final piece of the jigsaw to help them break into the top 4. “Alongside Vidic he is the best central defender” What about Rio you cunt? They think he is the leader they need. The irony is that Rentboys leader is willing to quit his “beloved” team for more money! Great leadership there! Pathetic.
Off topic but really hope it comes off :- http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/jul/12/manchester-united-chase-gremio-douglas-costa
Sir Cecil – Spot on pal.
Chelsea should take the money.. Terry is only after a bigger contract that’s why he’s using City.. They should just accept the bid and tell him to get lost.
Every time he plays for England he’s always the weakest link in defense, I think he’s the most overrated player in the country.
@Gudjohnsen ég er sammála (i agree)
We dont need another striker those five are fully capable of winning everything..
Although i wouldnt mind getting Etoo as i rate him as the best striker in the world 108 goals in 145 games in la liga isnt bad at all..
I think we should buy a world class winger to prevent Rooney from playing on the flanksvin the big games.
I really hope this will be his season and he will be recognized all over the world as being in class with best of the best
40 million for an aging defender is a good bit of business for Chelski…wont help city…by the way in order to try and start a thread i actually care about, who would you prefer, costa or young? And dont you think we could plop 50 million is Villas lap and get both young and Agbonlahor… i think that lad is class!
nice tabloid headline
Lampard has always been non-confrontational though he plays hard against us. I don’t know why some in the media are still referring to him as ‘fat’.
His days at WHU are history and he has been inspirational for both club & country.
don’t know why some say he’s fat but I’ve always referred to him as Fat Frank. Well, if Wazza is fat even though he clearly isn’t ( best BMI in premiership ), why isn’t Lampard.
Lampard is a consistantly class player, and he is a top fella to be fair to him shame he chose to be a rentboy though.
terry the racist, what a overrated cry baby he would fit right in a city.
@ Gman – Flottur…
I think City are delusional, if Terry joins them it’s just because of the money. No Champions League for at least one year and I doubt they will be able to break into the top 4 this season even if they sign Terry or some other big name. They might get a UEFA Cup place though. Is Terry really willing to give that up for a bigger paycheck? What’s the matter with these modern football players, they’re already filthy rich and live great lives, do they really always need more and more? The only appeal City has is the paycheck…
I found it quite funny when Hughes stated that City would follow their strict transfer plan after one of their targets turned them down (don’t quite remember who it was at the moment). What is City’s transfer policy? Bid on every star player and cross fingers that they will be tempted by all the zero’s on the paycheck? Those zero’s might also represent the amount of trophies those players will see if they sign on.
I do hope we still have some players left that play for the badge on their shirt and the desire to win but not just themselves and the big fat paycheck they get every week…
So is it true? Am i coming?
I see the Terry rumors are gathering a lot of pace. I hope he does it. Chelsea have totally left it up to him. So if he goes, Mr Chelsea will be Mr Judas.
for a Mr Chelsea to even wish to talk to another club…LOL
not so sure on the costa one though, any of you read this?
http://pitacodogringo.wordpress.com/2009/07/13/are-manchester-united-being-conned-over-douglas-costa/
@venu.i have read this and the stats if true are confusing.not a single goal and just 15 appearences.i think we should keep more of a watch on this kid and only if he performs in the brazilian league we shud sign him.21 million is a big big gamble, although i m sure united wont pay dat much
If there is one chlski player u have to admire,it has to be lampard.he is real class.Anyways,it does not take comments from lampard to make us realizehow good wazza is,we all know he is real class and it is only a matter of time before he is officially the best in the world
I hope we don’t do another nani, bags of potential but a little light in the attic! I would rather we rope in Ashley young than another “ronaldinho”, we already have version 5.0 in Ando, thanks!
i think what makes these players not live up to their potential is that they are not determined enough.CR7 was determined to prove a point to everyone after the 2006 world cup dat he can be the best player in the world and he did it.nani looks very casual in his approach.he has be more serious.
@AIG Alex is GOD, the question do we wait for them to get their heads right? Young will fit in right away, we already have Obertan in the “potential” dept. CR7 and the scum argie’s goals will need to be spread over more than just the strikers. We can count on some from the midfield but we definitely cannot rely on too many 1-0s this season!
@venu.you have a good point mate,we cant wait too long but i feel we shud give nani and ando one more chance.as for the goals the midfielders like carrick, ando, valencia, nani will have to score more and even though we are great at winning 1-0 u always want to be more comfortable.i think owen will get more than the 15 goals that the bastartd tevez got last season.if roo and berba can get 15 goals more together than what they got last season, the title is going to remain at OT for 4th sucessive year
Theres no comparison btwn ron and zola. ron is far better than zola. fergi has not used roney properly. if he was playing cf instead of winger for united he would have scored more goals.
about lumpard ill ask,why did he say the football Wayne is producing for England makes him a very special player, has he never seen him play for united
and as for tiny tear ya just Gotta hate tiny tears
does anyone know when Michael Owen nd Antonio v alencia will be officially presented?
aig
i taught valencia is gonna be today i think
@ghtt.thanks mate.keeen to know which number he gets.
@A.I.G.
i pre ordered my and emilys new jersey on manutd.com and i paid the delivery that it will get at my door thursday morning(in ireland) i got rooney at on the back, but if id of got one of the new signings it would have to be printed today sent out tomorrow for it to get here so to hold off any longer is putting faith in those 16 year olds who print the jerseys that they wont say valencia is number 7 to the wrong person
@ghtt.gr8 mate.i m still hurting.i have gt 2 jerseys.they are of CR7 and wud u believe it,Tevez(was gifted 3 months back).Here(in India)u get only Rooney’s jersey mostly,others are available only in selected shops bt i want vidic,s one now.
if there is 1 new jerseys out i get rooney
if there is 2 rooney + captain
if there is 3 rooney + captain + new signing
the only recent jerseys say in the last 6/7 years that dont play for united now is keane and forlan and ruud
i lucked out when united signed nani and anderson cause i went to get nani on a jersey and they said they’d no single n’s to make up nani (cause of rooney and ronaldo) but they’d andersons name all in one print
so i got the better player
oh sorry ive my ronaldo jersey from when he signed forgot about that
i dont think i can believe he’s not at united fully
i called up at a shop and asked him for carricks jersey in jan dis year and the shopkeeper asks me,’who is this player’?we get orders for only Ronaldo and rooney.so i took ronaldos and i m regretting dat now.i gifted a rooney one to my cousin.shud have done the other way round.
No doubts, he will be the Next KING of Manchester United!
Regarding ronaldo, whatever people say,he is a legend and i miss him.people who ’say good we got rid of him’,know deep down in their heart dat we will miss him and he was one of the best to have played at OT.u dont score 91 goals in 3 seasons just like dat,u gotta be special to whack a ball in from 40 yards(against Porto)in a high pressure game.
Two months ago, I would’ve laughed pretty hard at anyone suggesting that JT might even think about leaving Chelsea but after this summer (USA beat Spain…Owen to United…Ronaldo to RM…) I’ll believe anything. Though, lol @ the people who think he’s a glory hunter or just after the money. Glory hunters don’t sign for Chelsea in 1998.
I’ve always liked Frank Lampard. Quality player, smart guy, not a douche. Perhaps his only bad quality is which badge is on his shirt.
kikos house got robbed.jst chck dis

@venu
The thing with Costa is he is 18. 18 year olds don’t get thrown into the deepend in Braillian football, its a tough and physical league which they get eased into in most cases. The Twins never played a first team game, Anderson made something like 15 total appearances. Ronaldinho only made 44 appearances in total in 3 seasons between the ages of 18 and 21, Ronaldo made 14 ect ect. Someone like Robinho who makes a large number of first team appearances at a young age is rare.
As for Young I have said it once and will again. He could be great BUT he will cost United over £30mill (The £27mill Real were asked for in Jan + english player tax, + rival team tax + united tax + ronaldos 80mill tax)
Lamps comment on Rooney are justified, I too believe he is a class player and if he is used properly then we will see the best of him, one thing that I can not compare to him to Zola is temperamental control, while Zola was a down to earth player, Rooney at times can be very volatile and you never know when he going to sent off. This is a weakness that he needs to improve on more.
Out of topic though;
Is true that Sir is going for Eto’o? This is one rummer that I wish can die as fast as it came. This is one player I respect for his scoring prowess but I detest for his too big EGO, I don’t think he will like the rotation that Sir will be doing during the critical matches. Personally, I can not fathom what the world witnessed when CR7 was substituted during the Man City match. Further still, Man U do not need a another striker as what they have is enough and should give Kiko and Wellbeck ample time to develop. I don’t think they are under any pressure to win the trophy this season, for if they are then I don’t know what teams like Arsenal and Liverpool will be like. This is why I think it should be season for development. Where Man U has the weakest point is in the midfield where to me of the top 4 at the moment it is paper weight. In this area both Chelsea and Liverpool will bully them physically and Arsenal will bully them ballwise. As always Sir will let you make your opinion but will always give people surprises, lets wait and see what he has this time round.
@wakey, as long as all that tax is repaid by titles, having an english player and surety in the league as far as the player is concerned I am ok with it!
I don’t want us to be in a situation where we have too many ‘future talents’ waiting to bloom and we end up spending that on a big time winger after a year of waiting anyways! Six of one half a dozen of the other i guess! In cases like these guess we have to trust Fergie’s instinct.
“He goes by the name of, Wayne Rooney!”
