Chicharito Hospitalised With Concussion

During training at the Red Bull Arena on Tuesday night, Javier Hernandez suffered mild concussion, ahead of United’s friendly clash with the MLS All-Stars.

A club spokeswoman told ManUtd.com: “Chicharito sustained a mild concussion during training last night. We have taken all the necessary precautions, which included an overnight stay in hospital. The manager will give further updates in due course.”

Chicharito had only joined up with the squad on Monday, following the success he enjoyed with Mexico in the Gold Cup, and will now miss tonight’s clash, and possibly the weekend’s game against Barcelona too.

  9. AnomanderRake says:

    Hmm… thats wierd.

I attended the open training yesterday.

He was fine till the end. He was practicing sprints to get his fitness up after everyone had left.

I wonder what happeneed after that.

  10. willierednut says:

Cedars I’m taking about, not Hernandez. ;)

  11. Costas says:

Got to be careful with concussions. Quite frankly, I thought we would have given him a bigger rest given the amount of games he’s played in recent years.

    Get well soon Little Pea!

  12. FletchTHEMAN says:

The Mail story makes it sound really serious.

“Sources say the 23-year-old complained of feeling unwell in the early hours and was so groggy that he struggled to communicate with United’s medical staff immediately because he was only able to speak Spanish.
He was taken to hospital where his condition improved, but doctors decided to keep him in for observation until Friday with delayed concussion.”

    Get well Lil Pea!

  13. CedarsDevil says:

Hopefully its nothing serious, pity he will as it seems miss the next 2 games.

hopefully not too serious, get well soon chicha

what do you guys reckon on the XI for tonight’s game. Maybe something like this?

De gea, rafael, jones, ferdinand, fabio, nani, carrick, cleverley, young, welbeck, rooney.

  18. Mahesh says:

Saw the BBC headline “Hernandez hospitalized by injury” and nearly had a heart attack! Concussion doesn’t sound too bad – get him some good rest! Get well soon li’l one!

  19. King Eric says:

Aww bless him. That groggy he forgot his ingerlish. Get well soon Javier.

Costas. Hello mate. How are you pal? Yeah he needs this rest. To be fair ai don’t think he was even gonna feature tonight. Fergie said he wants to get him up to fitness first before playing.

Nice 3 minute video for our Little Pea. Though we have seen the goals done in different combos, personally I cannot get enough of watching them or his brilliant smile…

    Enjoy

  21. Mikekelly12 says:

    Get well son!!

  22. Costas says:

    @KIng Eric

Everything’s fine mate. Just relaxing here in this warm weather. :) How are you? Hope you are not taking this too hard. After all, Chicha is the reason you became bisexual.

  23. MG says:

Javier Hernandez we MG and willierednut send this message loud and clear

Wherever you are have no fear Sneijder is coming.

  24. CedarsDevil says:

    Costas

I should have dedicated the video to King Eric actually!

  25. willierednut says:

    MG –

  26. RedScottX says:

What if he never had concussion…
Am thinking it’s a deliberate ploy by the management not to ACTUALLY make him play because he needs to be on a certain fitness level before having a run out with the rest of the team.
Yes,the American population yearned to see him,and we did..but that’s just it.
Our Chico ain’t 100 percent, not match fit,and he’s not been with team in a while,so throwing him into battle right away is not what i would bet my house on..
    Anyways,get well soon Lil Pea.

  27. coomy says:

    cute daughter cedar

  28. CedarsDevil says:

    coomy – Thanks

MG – Good thing he cannot hear you right now as he is sedated. You and Willie should lay off our Little Pea.

  29. The Fly says:

Vida probably wiped him the fuck out. All in the spirit of the game though.

  30. King Eric says:

Costas. Ha ha. You cheeky sod. But correct ! If he wasn’t in the states I would be holding a candlelit bedside vigil. Yeah good thanks mate. Just counting down the days till my holiday. Unfortunately not your lovely country this time as I am going to Dubai. Will miss the Greek islands I really will. They have a place in my heart as had some great times there.

Cedars. Aww. What a lovely picture. You must be very proud mate.

As good a prospect as Thiago looks for Barca they just aint the same without Xavi. He makes a world of difference the way he controls the midfield. Without him their passing is nowt like the same. Nowt like at all. Oh and they look fucking toothless without Messi. Obviously.

  31. EDCUNITED1878 says:

He wasn’t even slated to play tonight or over the weekend as SAF clearly stated during the MLS press conference that the staff would only insert Chicha into a match if he was ready and two days of “training” isn’t exactly ready.

  32. Zibbie says:

Sniedjerman, Sniedjerman he’ll be coming to Old Traffordland…. Sniedjerman, Sniedjerman … simply lovely…

  33. Zibbie says:

Be well Lil Pea, nothing to mess with. Rest be well and all is swell.

  34. CedarsDevil says:

    King Eric

Cheers my friend, I am very proud. I posted the picture a while back. she lives with her mom, I see her as often as I can. She is just over 2.5 years old…. A very naughty little thing! A RED in the making for sure.

  35. willierednut says:

King Eric – That’s right, but the bloody buggers have signed Sanchez and will probably sign Fabregas as well!

  36. Mikekelly12 says:

Cedars – has she grown in to her hat yet??? My daughter lives with her mum too. I tried my best, but alas football has passed her by! If you ask her she’ll say she’s a red but in all honesty she just isn’t into football!! So keep at it mate, hopefully you’ll have more success than me.

  37. willierednut says:

Remember, Ribery was flavour of the month? Don’t hear much about that ponce now.

  38. Costas says:

    @Cedars

Haha, yeah I guess you should have. That’s an adorable little girl by the way. And dressed in the right colours. ;)

    @King Eric

Sorry to hear that, but I’m sure you will enjoy Dubai as well. Nothing wrong with a change in scenery.

  39. King Eric says:

Cedars. Yeah mate I know you posted the picture before but I couldn’t open it at the time. She is lovely pal.

That reminded me of James and young Emily. If anyone keeps in touch via twatter or facebook etc please would they kindly pass on my regards to gotta hate tiny tears. Missed on this blog. Thanks a lot.

  40. Mikekelly12 says:

Did anybody watch the Audi cup?

  41. soren says:

    Chicha love love love

  42. CedarsDevil says:

    mikekelly12

I will keep at it for sure, I actually have bought her loads of United gear, she loves wearing them which is a good start!

    Costas

    Thanks buddy

  43. King Eric says:

Willie. Ha spot on pal. Ponce being the word. Fucking noncey little cunt.

Ha. Just seeing Aguero getting mobbed outside the council house. I wonder what he made of all the fucking inbred window lickers. Bet he can’t wait to get a look around their trophy room, sorry shelf. I seriously wonder what they think? Its laughable. They must feel sort of embarrassed by it all. In the eyes of citeh fans he will already be considered a club legend such is their excitement to label their players with this tag. Bet tattooists round Stockport have been busy as fuck. Wonder lads how long before this cunt trots out the “Manchester is Blue“ line, summat clearly asked by the City staff to do. Classless souless club.

    Costas. Cheers mate.

  44. CedarsDevil says:

    King Eric

A bit of advice my friend from someone who lived in Dubai for 10 years. As much as I want you to have a great time but you are going at the worst possible time. The heat in August reaches 50 degrees with almost 100 percent humidity…. No one could last more than 1 hour at the beach. Secondly the Month of Ramadan I believe starts in August as well this year which means there will be no nightlife for the entire month. You can still get a drink in the evenings but with out music. dancing etc…..

  45. CedarsDevil says:

    King Eric

Just to add, if you are only going to enjoy staying in a nice hotel and enjoy the shopping then you will enjoy it.

  46. willierednut says:

King Eric – Heard, they’ve got the welcome to Manchester poster ready! Doesn’t work this time lol. Fergie has it right, they’re small club mentality is there for all to see.

  47. Imogen says:

knew it wouldnt be too long before it all went to his head

  48. CedarsDevil says:

Right before I get the label of RoM’s touristic destination advisor, back to football…..

I am going nuts thinking about formations for next season, which of these do you guys think we will use the most…

    4 3 3
    4 4 2
    4 5 1
    3 5 2
    2 5 3
    6 2 2
    1 3 6
    0 8 2
    9 0 1

    Its driving crazy

  49. StatesideAussie says:

I hope he gets well soon. SAF had already said, several days ago, that Hernandez was unlikely to play tonight anyway. I am a bit worried about it, gotta say. The impact of it seems out of proportion to what happened — he heads a ball, keeps training, then says he’s not well, then (hours later) is so unwell that he struggles to communicate and can only speak Spanish (even though his English is basically fluent). anyway, I wish him all the best.

  50. StatesideAussie says:

Cedars — 50 degrees and 100% humidity? And no booze for a month? Sounds like the ideal place and time for a World Cup — you should contact FIFA, mate, let them know.

  51. willierednut says:

Cedars – Going nuts? I’ve that effect on people.

  52. King Eric says:

Willie. I know mate. They make me sick the over the top attention seeking cunts. Will never be as successful or big as United. Cannot see Sanchez fitting into Barca side mate. Not their kind of player. I forgot about Fabregas. Always injured anyway. Wish the deal would just get done its got incredibly boring.

Cedars. Yeah thanks pal. My old dears have been a few times and said you just cannot sit in sun. Have to sit in shade. We are going with them. Only problem is when it was booked we didn’t know Ruth was pregnant. She can’t drink. Can’t sit in heat. Can’t go on desert buggys we are getting. Can’t go to waterpark. Won’t go up tallest building. Furthermore she usually gets some diazzies for plane but can’t take them. Bit of a nightmare really mate but I will take full advantage and enjoy the holiday. My old dears love it there.

  53. Kings says:

    Get well soon Chicha lad.

  54. CedarsDevil says:

    Stateside

Hahahaha, to be fair there will be booze in the evenings only… But I agree perfect settings for a World Cup. They did that already though did they not? ;-)

  55. Mikekelly12 says:

Cedars- a good start indeed. Formation will be De Gea Sneijder and 9 strikers. Job done.

  56. CedarsDevil says:

    King Eric

Have fun buddy, just make sure you ‘accidentally’ forget the credit card before any trip to the mall!

  57. Mikekelly12 says:

The first time i arrived in Dubai was during Ramadan, very dull! Is the bunker bar still going in Dubai? Wasn’t attached to any hotels and had a little more leway when I was there.

  58. CedarsDevil says:

mikekelly12 – I see you have opted for the 0 1 9, genius, was not on my list. Pity it cannot work with no wee Wes in there!

Kings – How are you my friend

  59. Mikekelly12 says:

Cedars – I know. If only there was a way of securing the signature of a midfielder who could fit into this adventurous formation??

  60. CedarsDevil says:

    mikekelly12

what year was that mate? When I left a couple of years ago there were only a few stand alone places that still served booze, one that I personally liked was the Aviation Club, had a really nice Irish pub inside with great Guinness plus lots of choices for different cuisines

  61. Mikekelly12 says:

    Cedars
It was a while back mate 2002/3. It was off the sheik zayeid road. It was an old exiles rugby club.

  62. CedarsDevil says:

    mikekelly12

Yes its still there, became a Chelsea pub now. I actually watched the match when Barca knocked the rent boys out of the CL semi in 09…. Was screaming my head off whilst getting extremely nasty looks.

Another well known stand alone place was Cyclone, which was shut down, not for it being well known to harbor prostitutes but because the police caught someone selling a joint inside!!!!!

  63. Mikekelly12 says:

Cedars – Chelsea !! Nightmare, used to like it in there. Clapham Junction used to be the famous prostitute haunt when I was there…. Allegedly !!

  64. willierednut says:

    Cyclone? windy club, was it?

  65. CedarsDevil says:

Its Mikekelly12 not mikekelly12!! Only just realized!

I do not recall the Clapham Junction, not that I would know of course!

  66. CedarsDevil says:

    Willie

If you can define windy as extremely sexy East European babes dressed in next to nothing making things fly in your pants, then yes it was very windy in there! So I have been told

  67. Mikekelly12 says:

    Cedars – I didn’t realise either.
No, I never ventured into clapham junction either , just heard it was full of Ladies of the night!!!!

Aguero signing for shitty could help de gea settle in.apparently they’re good mates from atletico.

Just got to DC for the weekend. Bummed Chicharito is hurt. Hopefully he’s ready for the season and at least shows up to game on the bench. Want to see him smiling and cheering on the rest of the team!! Looking forward to being in United supporters section

  72. indiandevil says:

    Get well soon chicho! :)

Beckham just said: “United have the best manager in world, are the biggest club in world, have the best players and fans in the world.”

Sir Alex Ferguson’s refusal to spend on a midfielder in a recent interviews has sent panic waves amongst United fans around the globe. THT explores all such combinations that the Scot could look to use in the upcoming season. All possible center midfield combos explained, what might work and might not

  73. Red Devil says:

Get well soon boy…rest up well..

    @King Eric

Enjoy the vacation mate…wish you an enjoyable safari!

  74. utdforever says:

After the MLS All Star match last night Fergie said Chico is fine, he just needs a bit of rest and wasn’t gonna play a part against Barcelona anyway. He’ll be fine by the start of the season and raring to go!!

  75. utdforever says:

@ King Eric.. totally disagree with you about Sanchez fitting in at Barcelona. I think he’ll fit in nicely with the likes of Xavi and Iniesta, as any top player would.

Shame he’s always been a Barca fan coz he would’ve been a world beater with us. As much I like A. Young and think he’ll be a great signing for us, I’d take A. Sanchez over him any day of the week.
