Sorry but, I don’t get the fuss over Ribery. Overrated cunt. And he’s a diving brute! :D

  29. WillieRedNut says:

Danny put a great shift in, I thought. Young didn’t really get going, but the lack of quality around him wasn’t that good. Fuck England, Love United! ;)

  30. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

  35. WillieRedNut says:

King Eric – Agree mate. France are shite at the back. Danny was moving their 2 CH all over the place first 30 minutes. We know England are cack, so this isn’t a good result for the French.

    That’s why he was shit

  42. Fred says:

    Looking forward to Sweden-Ukraine.

Ukraine, managed by the openly racist Oleg Blokhin, have the “dream ticket” of Shevchenko and Voronin up front – two of the worst strikers ever to grace the Premier League.

Sweden’s star man is of course Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Gerard Pique’s gay lover. This is also a chance to see Rasmus Elm, the player we were falsely linked with in January, in action.

I think Sweden have too much quality and will muller the racist bastards. 8

Ukraine: Pyatov, Gusev, Mykhalyk, Khacheridi, Selin, Yarmolenko, Tymoschuk, Konoplianka, Nazarenko, Voronin, Shevchenko. Subs: Koval, Kucher, Garmash, Aliev, Shevchuk, Rakitskiy, Butko, Goryainov.

Sweden: Isaksson, Lustig, Mellberg, Granqvist, Martin Olsson, Elm, Kallstrom, Larsson, Ibrahimovic, Toivonen, Rosenberg. Subs: Wiland, Svensson, Jonas Olsson, Antonsson, Wernbloom, Safari, Holmen, Hansson.

    Referee: Cuneyt Cakir (Turkey)

  43. Fred says:

Time to dust off ABBA Gold…

  44. james21 says:

I Choose because I’m English. So why the fuck is it a bad thing to support your national team?
Maybe we are expected to support another national side who we have no connection to what so ever.
I find this Tee shirt very offensive, very disrespectful and just a cheap way to make a £.
If this was done and aimed at another country they’d be uproar but we’re English and we have to take it on the chin don’t we.

  45. MG says:

    I second James

Because he’s Jules 21 to my Vincent

  46. United Till I Die says:

For a moment I wondered why England are wearing yellow? So much for the Euro spirit, don’t think i’ve ever been this disinterested in a tournament before. Come on August ffs.

  47. Fred says:

UTID – the games have been decent tbf. Germany-Portugal has been the only dud so far.

  48. YS says:

How amazing is Parker , he smashed a pass to Welbeck when he was only 2 yards away

Class acts ……………..really Y do U need Carrick when u hv Parker

I think Welbeck shud be benched , playing in such a clueless team wud ruin his season for United

  49. Mash says:

I hope we dont get lewandoski, that would really upset the core of a very promising dorthmund team.

Getting him would mean a massive dent to welbeck, hernandez and king/kean progress.

  50. WillieRedNut says:

After the Sweden, Ukraine game, Coldplay will do a lap of honour. It’s all very…….

  51. Fred says:

  53. Musty Pea says:

I’m a Utd fan and an England fan and will always support our country even if managed by a Martian.
This t-shirt is for braindead biased football haters only interested in causing negativity.

  54. Fred says:

    Zlatan misses an absolute sitter.

Got to say, Welbz and Rooney are gonna have big fun with these bags of shite.

  55. United Till I Die says:

@James, come on mate you can’t be serious about “if it was aimed at another country…” ain’t you heard of the box office smash hit Borat and the Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan? Secondly, its not like Scott is attacking “the English people” – or do you get offended when English tax payers call their own government a bunch of filthy cunts?

True, for some people the England team is an embodiment of who they are – but for others it represents everything wrong with this Country from top to bottom. However you look at it mate the good people of this country (England) are not tied to the ankle of Woy Hodgson nor his handlers, and thank fuck for that.

  56. united.george says:

    Fred, hilarious comment at 20.23….

  57. james21 says:

    United til i die
I don’t get easily offended by anything but this really has fucked me off.
Its a cheap way of making a £.
I ask Who am I meant to support? Or does it make me less of a Utd fan if I support England because that’s the message that’s coming across.
    Its bullshit .
Also supporting this team has nothing to do with what’s wrong with this country its what’s wrong with the FA and the FA only.
A few months back you couldn’t say fuck all on here without someone jumping down your throat,
    that was my point.

  58. Mushy Pea says:

I read this website to get news on United not to get a blinkered view that everything except United is good, this is one if the reasons so many people hate us!

  59. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

I’m with James on this one, I’f you don’t want to support England then that’s cool. I find it very hard to feel passionate about the set up but I’m still English.

On the game we lack any kind of ability, we strangle our players ability. We are like a subbuteo team. No licence to express its like watching a team like Stoke.

  60. united.george says:

goal aid was successful after all Fred, 2 goals scored now…..1-1, scheva!

  61. Mushy Pea says:

We have to face it in England that we have not had he set up to teach close control ball skills and until the new scheme takes shape and kids start playing on smaller pitches with smaller goals will we ever compete properly. Until that day United fans will have to watch England like a fan from most other club teams. Time for all us Reds to either get behind the team if our country or behave like spoilt kids!

  62. Mikekelly12 says:

Welbeck and Young played for England tonight…. Just saying

  63. Fred says:

George – make that three! Sheva rolling back the years.

  64. united.george says:

wow what a headed by scheva again! the same exact goal scored from the left side now. Now he needs a header through the middle to complete it….

Willie, I finally got the coldplay reference, LOL!!!

  65. Fred says:

Fucking masked man in the crowd.

  66. united.george says:

Fred, that was a scary looking guy…WTF was that all about?

  67. WillieRedNut says:

    united.george –

  68. Mushy Pea says:

Is it me or how come England never seem to have any good looking women in the crowd supporting them?

  69. Fred says:

united.george – terrifying, wasn’t it? Stuff of nightmares FFS.

  70. Dazbomber says:

James21 – Your right mate , we are English and we support our country , any one who slags my country can fuck off .?

  71. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

    Mike

They were both excellent mate. My biggest frustration with England is the way we wank over block tackles by parker, fuck me if he got close in the first place he wouldn’t have to dive in. Its like when united fans applauded tevez for diving header tackles, I thought it was embarrassing.

Hart, Cole, Gerrard, young, wellbeck, Rooney, all top players. We then have decent average players in Lescott, Milner, Parker. We then have dross like Johnson, Terry (at current performance not years gone by) carrol, downing, walcott.

Then players who don’t even get a game at home Defoe, Chamberlain, Kelly etc.

  72. Fred says:

Great run from Wilhelmsson. Can see one more goal in this.

  73. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

    Dazbomber

Follow them at your own will mate but many united fans are rightly aggrieved by the national set up.

  74. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

Fred – Sway-don are mullering Ukraine

Sheva is the pretty bastard deserves this….up the mustardo’s ! 8)

  75. united.george says:

Shevchenko off. good performance….Cmon Roman, buy him…Again!!

  76. Dazbomber says:

Manchester Unuted have produced more English internationals than any other club this is some thing to be proud of.some of the best players to play the game have been United players . Edwards Charlton Robson Rooney just to name a few.?

  77. james21 says:

    Giggs12
Hi mate. 2 great blocks by our Danny but for some reason Townsend wanks over Parker. That shot at Danny Welbeck or was it a pass? He was virtually stood next to him ffs. And what the fuck did Jordan Henderson do to get a mention in the post match analysis? I look up in despair having to listen to our pundits, probably better to watch it on mute.

  78. Fred says:

Papii – the Ukranians are doped, it’s the only explanation.* 8)

*Other than the Swedes being total crap.

  79. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

    Dazbomber

No one has disputed that but in the same respect we had to watch Becks, scholes, butt, Nevilles all get booed with every touch in 97 that was when I found it hard.

  80. Fred says:

    So close from Mellberg. :(

  81. james21 says:

    Giggs12
Gary Neville mentions in his book about the booing. It was factions of groups dotted around wembley and not all England fans as this Offensive T-shirt suggests.
I agree it was hard to get behind the team at that point but the pride our players had in playing for their country proved they were better than these stupid Neanderthals. They never shirked their duties and gave 100%.

  82. Mushy Pea says:

England have to beat Sweden and at least draw with Ukraine now

  83. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

    Fuck Ingurand !

I’ve lived in England all my life and Since 2008, I can’t stand the cunts. All of them I even Hate Rooney during internationals.

How he had the nerve to say “nice to see your own fans boo ya”….Fuck off Tosser.
Then Cunts like JT that use the captaincy to boost their ego.
Stevie GBH is past it yet him and Lumps are getting free caps.

Shit strikers, Shit midfield, Shitter defence. The current bunch in the euro’s is dog shit.

World Class: Hart, Cole, Rooney….slightly Young.
Talented: Welbeck, Oxy , Jones, Kelly.

What that 6-8 decent guys? Joke of a country, circus surrounds them and over hyped !
They say “there is less expectation on England this year”.
Oh Yeah? Then why the fuck are their arses being licked clean of all the shit.

So much hype surrounding a national team that flopped on epic proportions since 66. Shit cunts always complain about cheating all the time  GOOD !

    CMON IRELAND !

  84. Mushy Pea says:

    I meant Papii
If you’ve lived in England all your life then you’re English. You can choose your club team but you can’t choose your country

  85. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

    Clint

Ireland are shite mate people adopt them as a second team. I’m English and despise the set up the fa, brooking, Bernstein, shit fans that boo their biggest producer of quality but I’m still English.

I’m sick of hearing about the Irish team, top country but poor team I don’t know why the media wanks over then?

  86. WillieRedNut says:

Fuck the East Coast! Westsideeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  87. United Till I Die says:

@James – I doubt anybody looks down on a fellow Red who supports his national side. That would be as daft as judging a mans nationalism on whether he supports his national side. Either way, Terry Rooney and Co are NOT the embodiment of this nation for everybody, no more than David Cameron or the Queen are. Imo nobody should conflate “the people of England” with the national team “sponsored by McDonalds” as its not really that simple, hence the difference of opinion.

  88. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

Half of the Irish team have never even been Irish. Cascarino, Townsend, Lawrence, macateer, the most outfield capped player kilbane is as English as they come.
As for moaning the French game rings a bell.

  89. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

    James

I know mate I will never support anyone else I am English through and through. I just find it hard to be passionate with the anti united set up and support. 90, 96, 98 great pride in the team but since then we have been over run by awful individuals. The jealousy of the national press and fans waiting to blame it on united.

As I said it would be immense for the nation to win a tournament but just can’t see it.

  90. United Till I Die says:

@Dazbomber – thats the thing though mate, you’d have to be thick as shit to think an Englishman who doesn’t support England is less patriotic than an Englishman who never misses an England game. Loads of people in this country don’t care about the national squad so obviously the team isn’t synonymous with the country. Someone’s patriotism can’t be questioned off the back of a poxy football tournament, thats the “spirit” that makes England FC so laughable in my eyes mate.

  91. United Till I Die says:

*off the back of a poxy football tournament, for fucks sake

  92. AntiScouser says:

Croatia to win it. You heard it here first.

  93. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

    Giggs12

Unlike the English, the irish have a top manager that knows his stuff, changes his game/tactics when needed, brings in the right players, drops a player if he’s not right for the blend of the team.
You can see commitment written across his face and passion when he talks.

The England bosses just want the pay out and field whatever team the media calls for or the F.A favourites (Gerrard,Beckham,Lumps,Terry,Cole,Rob Green,Downing,Milner).
What about the guys that deserve a call up like Jarvis,Holt,Carrick, Rio,Richards,Baines (before), Scott Sinclair etc?

Ireland are adopted because they put in the effort everytime, they play with their hearts even if they are piss poor, they give 100% and show it. They don’t have the every 2 years to play in a tournament so they give their best, satisfy their fans and give a people a sense of pride, which is what football is all about, they get you on your feet screaming and shouting. When St Ledger scored yesterday, I went wild, we lost 3-1, but we did our best, we hoofed balls in hope of goals, threw on Walters & Long….positive football + tactics.

I love that Ireland are in the Euros and loved them in 2002 world cup. Fucking Pride is what I like ! :D
England are an embarrassment, a disgrace, a freak show and cringe-worthy…fuck em.

Media wanks over Ireland because they are the team of “the locals in the pub”, managed by the italian man that owns the pub played by a bunch of sunday league bums.

    Ireland FTW

  94. hazard/benzema loves the willy says:

    giggs 12
u say all these players are english but they have irish ancestry and chose to play for ireland so in my eyes they are irish! we know we have a crap team but we dont give a shit, we will still have our pride and follow our country to the last. we have done well to get so far with such a poor team, we have 4 million population and no proffessional league. im fairly proud tbh

  95. Cyril Sneer says:

For what it’s worth, I reckon it’s up to the individual who they support and nobody else’s business.

I’ll happily take the piss out of JT and the rest as individuals but it’s not my place to tell other people who they can cheer for.

You’re all wrong anyway, Greece are gonna win.

    ELLAS!

  96. Mikekelly12 says:

It’s a football team! You don’t have to like them because you’re English?! How many of us watched England South Africa on Saturday morning?? I did, does that make me more patriotic than the next man? Who sat under his brolly for two days waiting to see England White wash the West Indies, not me, couldn’t give a shit? Does that make me less patriotic. Will I be devestated if england don’t win the Euro’s ? No, probably not? Will I celebrate with my pals over a few pints if we do? Probably. We’ll have won despite the FA not because of the FA? And I’ll still fucking hate the set up and a few of the players. So shoot me!

  97. Fred says:

    Welcome to Hellas.

  98. Fred says:

Mike – bang out of order, pal. Get behind the Three Lions. 8)

  99. MG says:

Neymar will win it and United will sign him

I’m sure he’ll get his chance to play

    Must be injured or something

  100. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

    Clint

Got the rise I wanted as your post was pathetic about England. Your Irish so support your team, then leave England for James and Dazbomber and co. You have no right to abuse England as you did none at all.

  101. james21 says:

    Utd til I die
Have to disagree. It does suggest any Utd fan who supports England is less of a Utd fan.
Its aimed at non English Utd fans just to make a quick £, its not even funny and points out certain things you could say about any national teams fans. E.G Barca fans boo Madrid fans all season and vice versa but get behind their national team. Not hypocrites just know when to put aside club and country issues.
Not all players are Cunts just because they play for your rivals, (John Terry is a cunt of course but most of the country know that)
We all know the FA is a joke but so is FIFA and UEFA.

The Tee shirt is offensive. Simple as really. ‘Ingurland’ in the Middle of our national flag, might as well write ‘Cunts’ in my eyes.

Also I’ve never said I have a problem with fans not supporting England. My gripe is with the cheap
offensive and tacky tee-shirt on sale for £17.

  102. MG says:

    Cyril

You’re wrong the final will be between Brazil and Argentina and Neymar will outscore Messi meaning Brazil wins

  103. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

    Clint

If they were that proud they would play their own national players not English lads who parents went to Dublin once. Kevin kilbane most capped player born and bred lancastrian.

You sound like a bitter shit prem fan having a pop at united…..we support our local shit number.

  104. Cyril Sneer says:

MG – Neymar is Greek mate.

  105. MG says:

    I will not get in-between a war

I would still like to remind everyone and I hope everyone will agree

That we support Manchester United first and foremost

And any team after is up to the individual – it isn’t exactly hard to come up with this equation.

    19

  106. samuel - united WE stand says:

Interesting matches today. The england vs france was tactical really but only one team was out there to play technical entertaining football and it’s the french..

That french right back mathieu debuchy is simply outstanding. Made a fool out of the “World class” ashley cole.

Hodgson has set his team difficult to beat, pack the bus and hit on the break. Welbeck was good today, looks to be learning the lone striking role well. worked hard and had intelligent movements but no quality in central midfield to feed him the ball. He’ll only improve.

Milner yet again shows how inept he is. rounds keeper with a great pass from young but no composure or quality whatsoever to steer the ball home. All workrate, no finesse.

Shevchenko will take the limelight and he rolled back the years but the ukrainian wingers really impressed me. Koplyanka on the left can develop into a quality player, i see potential there and i see him joining a big club soon. the left footer on the right was good too, if england falter against sweden then they will be given a run for their money against ukraine.

  107. Fred says:

MG – I most certainly will NOT agree with that, pal.

    England > United

  108. Giggs12Gerrard0 says:

    Mg

That’s not necessarily true, it is for me but many who will support their national side equally or more. I won’t listen to non Englishman man call us though as I wouldnt have a scouser cone on here and abuse united. That is disrespectful in my eyes bang out of order.

  109. WillieRedNut says:

Cole is class though. Regardless of how we feel about him personally. Had Ronnie in his sky rocket more than once. England’s ability at keeping the round thing is appalling. This still hasn’t been corrected after numerous tournaments. The French looked decent in parts, but very suspect at the back. Better point for England imo.

  110. MG says:

    Cyril

“MG scratching his head like Stan Laurel”

  111. MG says:

    Wait

    Your honour the defence rests.

  112. james21 says:

Have to agree with Giggs12. What right do you have to openly say Fuck ingurand as an Irishman. We can all start insulting others countries and believe me I will if you disrespect mine.
You can say what the hell you like in your little pub with your mates.

  113. Cyril Sneer says:

MG – He’s currently disguised as Sotiris Ninis, though Ninis is also known as the “Greek Messi” :)

    He’s a decent young prospect, I wouldn’t mind having him at United…

  114. hazard/benzema loves the willy says:

well said mg! united is wat its all about. giggs 12 this site aint just for english people. this site is for manhester united fans, so it doesnt matter what is said about our national teams on here. UTID

  115. WillieRedNut says:

Who knew there was so many closet England fans on here? :P Thank fuck I’m Northern Irish! We’re fucking shite, but I wouldn’t change it for anything lol. Getting to a major tournament would represent success for us. I feel for some United fans, that can’t bring themselves to follow England. Years of our players on the receiving end of some terrible abuse has put many United fans off. Can’t blame them to be honest. Anyway, I’m neutral, but don’t fallout over this tedious shit. Remember why we’re here posting on this blog in the first place. 19

  116. MG says:

    Cyril

The Greek Messi? So he’s good with kebabs right?

Well I’m out Ladies and Gentlemen – take it easy will you all – There is a long time to go before Manchester United get back on the pitch.

“You sound like a bitter shit prem fan having a pop at united…..we support our local shit number.”
Please explain further, I want to read the full extent of this quote then judge whether I should take any offence.

Why would you assume I’m an full Irishman? I said in earlier posts in the week, that I followed England till the shambles of McClaren being sacked, then it all went tits up as the circus came out shining with their plastic hats, red noses, make up and all the white elephants came tumbling out. I have Irish friends, Irish heritage, also have family in Scotland and all about the UK, so I consider myself the product of a Britain, so I give myself a free pick over the nations to support and go watch in stadiums.

I supported England till 07, Scots till 2009 and Ireland has caught my eye since the WC 2010 qualifiers campaign, I attended England games where JT was boo’d then cheered afterwards for a clearance, Rooney got called all sorts all game even when he scored and I also witnessed public masturbations of Gerrard, Barry, Terry and the rest of the jokes. I’ve watched 3 England games at Wembley since quitting in 07 and it is the same joke it was then but now has further escalated into a freak-show.

This is why I am critical of England, I say Fuck em because “England” (The FA,media and Its players), couldn’t give a toss about national pride and disrespect the honour of international football by turning it into some celebrity reality show.

If England fix up, as a resident of England, I’d be first to cheer them on, but as long as they make the support look like a joke world-wide, then they don;t have my backing…feel free to be part as the comedy if your just being patriotic for the sake of it.

When I say Fuck Ingurand…its more of the Fuck towards the national team, the set up and the FA. Not the fans and who they support, I respect their loyalty to the freak-show but I voluntarily opt out.

United gets 100% of my support and Ireland,Scotland,Wales get the scrapes tbh.

If you feel offended by my disdain of England, The FA, the media, its Players and its system, I couldn’t give a toss, because I was one of those fans that was repeatedly let down, embarrassed and robbed of my money by a bunch of clowns and have voluntarily withheld my support for them.

I do not want to upset the Ingurand fans, but its “just the way I’m feeling”. ;)

Its funny how United can Unite us and England splits us in two segments, I believe ITV said something similar how fans are either optimistic or on the complete other end of the scale. I’m one that fell off the scale onto another one.

 Plus some of the United over England has become more prominent in me.

I will not waste any more time on discussing England, I was just outraged by the reaction to this “beginning of something special” reaction to a draw against France and back to back wins.

I think I’ll stick to United & Ireland in future as my language towards England has caused uproar.

I’ve come to my conclusion England is a lost cause…but No offence lads, its only internationals, save the unfriendly reactions for something that matters like

whether we should sell Anderson or not ? :P

  135. samuel - united WE stand says:

What, like trappatoni brought on simon cox instead of james McClean? tactical mastermind that really is.

Let’s be honest, ireland are appalling. A team filled with whelan and a left back from wolves really can’t be expecting anything spectacular. Lump long ball up top, relying only on “Spirit, work-rate and togetherness” in football rather than talent is a recipe for a disastrous tournament.

Saying that though, i’d only assume the irish modeled their approach on a very average england team Who i expect to be exposed badly if they manage to reach the knock out stages.

Yes cole is good but debuchy ran him ragged today and i can only see more deficiencies in his game coming to the fore. The french might have lacked enough bite but they’re still superior to england technically. I look at them and see potential improvements, i see england and I see no hopers clinging onto the tiniest of straws before they’re truly shown for what they are.

All i’m saying is, england equals average, ireland equals very very poor. The argument need not progress any further.

  136. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

Ireland are not blessed with the greats of past sadly, someday maybe.

Sometimes its about how much pride you have in your team rather than who;s in your team when you lovingly support your team, there is many countries out there with a shit XI, but the character of the nation drives them further than anyone could have expected.

Croatia,Denmark, Ireland,Poland,Chile are not the best examples, but they are countries with a really small pool to pick from and have done remarkably well.

  137. samuel - united WE stand says:

Croatia, denmark or chile may be small countries but they continue to provide quality players and why? it’s because of work they do on developing skill and technique, i think it’s easy to blame it on the amount of population. It’s all well and good saying you possess ‘passion and spirit’ but that only gets you so far, talent eventually rules all. The naive thing is to assume that people from the british isles are the only one who possess passion, other countries have this in abundance and yet blend it with quality.

  138. Hate2Wake says:

Woy HooDson manager of england John terry becoz Cunt terry threaten to sleep with his Woy’s Wife if he is dropped from the squad….

Some sources Reveal that Liverpool players planned to Rob Woy’s house if they are not selected.

  139. T. says:

Fuckin hell. England is totally useless in the Euros with the likes of Barry and Stevie G running the show from the midfield (real good playmakers huh).

Luckily for u guys Sweden are worse. We (yes swede) are so beyond useless, I don´t even know how the hell we managed to qualify. Put two guys on Ibramovic and we have no gameplan. Every fucking ball must go through him, and he is the only one good enough two get two touches on the ball without loosing it.

England will qualify to the knock out stage, no doubt about it. ukraine wasn´t good, but looked like shining stars compared to Sweden!

  140. Bobby Charlton's combover says:

Ireland have a very poor side – we’re packed with mediocre premiership footballers and just don’t have the talent to compete against quality sides who like samuel says above have just as much passion but a lot more technical ability. We can make it difficult for a while but sooner or later we’ll be broken down and the heroic backs to the wall stuff and set piece goals will only save us for so long.
We have a small pool of players to choose from made smaller by the fact that there is severe competition from the gaelic sports hurling and gaelic football and rugby. The probability of good players emerging is small and even smaller that a quality group of young players emerges in the same generation. The last time that happened was in the 80′ and early nineties when you could say we had a strong first eleven that included players like Ronnie Whelan, Houghton, Aldridge, McGrath, Irwin to name but a few. Now we don’t have one player of that calibre and whole it’s great to get to a big tournament we’re well aware that we’re punching above out weight.

  141. lordrt says:

I was quite surprised by England’s performance last night, they did a good job to keep the French at bay, and another surprise was to see Evra start ahead of Clichy.
But, tell the lads, Joe Hart’s weakness is that right-hand side, Nasri tried twice same angle, and the second one was fatal :) So let’s hope SAF took note and does what needs to be done for the coming derbies ;)

  142. Jeet says:

Well, actually I was surprised by how shite the French were. From the skilful Zizou generation, they seem to have regressed to ugly, scrappy football – at times I thought they out-englished the english in that regard.

That scarred cunt with a donkey’s grizzle for a haircut is grossly overrated. 3 years ago he looked good, now he looks exactly like what he is – a has-been cunt with all his energy spent on underage whoring. But then some would prefer him to Nani because oooooh the latter is inconsistent.

Debuchy is good, but honestly lads, what does he offer that our twins don’t? ahh right, “positioning sense” – I thought so ;)

Liked the look of the lad M’Vila – but ffs, saying he is the french keano, or even the new viera (who I consider a right twunt) is a fucking disgrace. He can tackle and intercept, but seemed to offer very little by way of passing or driving the team forward. And I promise you, if you put him up against a fresh Scholesy even today, he would be chasing wind all day long, well at least for 60 minutes.

Actually, kudos to Hodgson for playing to his squad’s limitations. 4-5-1, 2 banks of 4, play on the counter, and pray like hell. Wonest Woy, and no shame in that if you ask me. After all, who would want to play expansive football with barry, milner, henderson, downing and stevieme?

  143. samuel - united WE stand says:

I would disagree regarding france. I don’t think any team can surpass england when it comes to average football (well some are on a par but can’t be bothered to name a list). France weren’t efficient and effective enough but they have talent in abundance and with time they will blossom into a major force again. I don’t think a lot of teams can measure up to the generation of zinedine zidane, emmanuel petit, vieira, thuram, henry, trezeguet and many more. These guys were a one off that all came down the conveyor belt and it’s no suprise it sprang france’s most successful time (a world cup and euro).

This current french team has technical qualities that england can only dream about, they might not win the tournament but they’ll be back.

On debuchy, well i’m in no way clamoring for his signing. I just simply think he’s a quality full back. He seems to have the necessary experience and quality and will be snapped up. Rafael is good but he could be better, he needs to strive for more improvements in some parts of his game, he was exposed at times last season and don’t underestimate the skill of having good positional skill and reading the game, it’s important for all defenders.

  144. samuel - united WE stand says:

Bobby – i sort of understand your sentiment. Small country, hard to cultivate quality players but whatever the size of players, i think coaching skill and technique is important. Enough with big burly kevin doyle, who i acknowledge his efforts but not what ireland need. Players from that region need to be coached the right way, in fact all players from the british isles need good coaching and my do you hope they have necessary qualities.

I look at james mcclean for example and he impresses me, i think you need more of those in the team. Trappatoni is conservative with his style but that’s agreeable as ireland don’t have the players to go toe to toe with european heavyweights but it still doesn’t mean you can’t play intelligent counter attacking football.

i’m not a big fan of gibson but even a cynic can see he’s better than keith andrews and whelan. I reckon you should go for it against spain because sitting back or not, those tippy tappy twinkle toes passing fuckers will rip you to shreds.

All in all, ireland can use this tournament as experience and perhaps an eye opener in terms of what is needed to improve. Don’t blame it on population, the likes of croatia can’t boast numbers but they all make england look foolish.

  145. Jeet says:

@Samuel: I am 33, a smoker, and play fullback against 20 year old kids who are thrice as fast and agile as I – how could I ever underestimate the importance of positonal sense?

I really didn’t see much that Debuchy offered over and above what the twins can deliver. True that Rafael has been caught out a couple of times, but I think his overall game has improved dramatically. He doesn’t rush into silly tackles. His heading has improved. And I am sure his “concentration” will improve this season, since that’s what’s let him down, not “positoning” really.

Also I think terms like “positional sense” are bandied about a bit too easily by a lot of ppl (not you). You know my thoughts on Fabio – I think fabio is actually better positionally, and concentration wise – generally a fantastic young defender, who can attack as well. Still not convinced about sending him on loan.

  146. lordrt says:

raise ur hands for those who want to see Debuchy wear the red shirt soon :)
nasri looked like a real cunt with his on-pitch rants towards either the english bench or french media with his “ferme ta guele”

  147. Sandeep1878 says:

I m glad we dint sign this Nasri arrogant cunt..

    ##

    Regarding Debuchy..

well he is good no doubt, but people might be watching him right now when he is in top form..

so there nothing much than Rafael..

if anybody watches the video of rafael against Spurs and Bale, then nobody would talk of Debuchy..

Rafael is the future of right back position and he is improving fast and steady..

    hang on to the lad..

Hope it’s the latter mate, not a big fan of Modric but we need someone in the midfield don’ t honestly think striker should be our priority and the lad lewandowski just looked like a poor man’s Chicha to me.

  153. Bobby Charlton's combover says:

    @samuel – united WE stand
I agree that we have to learn to play football as opposed to trying to contain better teams and nick the odd goal but for us to get to that level the schooling and philosophy required needs to exist in England. The thing is that plenty of the Irish team (as has been the case for a long time) are English by birth and play for Ireland because their parents or grandparents are Irish. Those Irish born players are signed up by English teams when they’re 14/15 so you could say that all of the Irish team have an English football upbringing which means the failure is in the English grassroots and underage system. I know a lot of work has been done and investment made with regard to this over the last decade or so and hopefully this will lead to the development of better footballing nations from Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales over the next decade or so.
If you look at England play (and I could take Scotland, Wales or Ireland as examples too) there is a very limited ability to hold the ball and control the pace of a game. Players like Milner, Henderson, Parker, Downing, promised so much but for me are very two dimensional and lacking genunine ability to be able to stand toe to toe against nations like Germany, Holland, Spain, Argentina etc.
The midfield is where most games are won and lost and the home nations and Ireland have been lacking in this department for generations.

  154. markynorbs says:

Monsieur Blanc wouldn’t elaborate. Why would shark face have a issue with our Gary?

  155. Panderi says:

    Jeet,

M’vila is injured mate. That was Alou Diarra in place of him yesterday. Agree with you though that the French were shite. Benzema did nothing except for a couple of shots from distance. Evra was better than Ribery on the left flank. Cabaye did nothing and the defence had nothing to do :D Nasri was the only one who looked good.

Coming to England, how shit is Scott Parker? Can he run with the ball without losing it for 5 yards ? Stevie Me is good when he’s playing off the main striker or when he’s given license to drive forward from midfield but he’ll create fuck all sitting deep in midfield. Set pieces are probably England’s best hope for a goal atleast until Rooney’s back.

  156. manc in aus says:

Just about to watch australia v Japan world cup qualifier, looking forward to watching Kagawa play

  157. Jeet says:

@Panderi: There I go embarrassing myself again

Watched the match mostly on mute as the missus was on the phone (business). I assumed it was M’Vila because he was black and playing in a similar position (which is pretty much what know of M’Vila – haven’t really seen him much).

  158. Joffrey Baratheon says:

Sandeep, there is no chance of Modric moving to United. Levy turned down 35 million last summer so where these stories of Modric to United for 25 materialised from fuck knows!? We can’t afford him and Levy won’t sell him unless it’s for a ridiculous sum and fair play to him. Modric was willing to sign a new contract to secure his future for extra most but then comes out with a pathetic excuse he had a ‘gentlemans’ agreement with Levy he could leave if an elite club came in for him. He’s vastly over hyped anyhow. Scholes is still a better player than Modic at 36 years old.

  159. King Eric says:

samuel – Alright mate. Gibbo has had a groin strain else he should have played. Andrews is a pub player.

Agree with Willie all things aside Cole is a fantastic left back and mr consistency. First and foremost he can defend.

No sorry no time for Ingerlund and I don’t like this notion some think we say it because it makes us “top reds”. Having said that IF they ever reached a final I would want them to win it.

  160. King Eric says:

Joffrey – I don’t think Levy is in as much power of postion as last summer. Modric did a Ronnie and gave another season. They cant expect to keep him with no European Football. Will Levy price him out of the market all together and risk keeping an unhappy player?

  161. Jeet says:

Apparently PSG is coming in hard and loaded for Modric?

  162. Bobby Charlton's combover says:

Just reading Nasri talking up Rooney’s impact. I fear that the expectation that will have built up by then will only affect him and he’ll have the country on his back if he hasn’t scored a hat-trick by half-time. Nasri is a twat by the way and I really can’t see Modric signing but I know we’ll get someone for the midfield but I don’t know who.

  163. Bobby Charlton's combover says:

    Glenn Whelan maybe?

  164. Joffrey Baratheon says:

King Eric, he priced him out of the Market last summer and stayed stubborn that Modric would honour his contract. I don’t think anything has changed. It’s lazy journalism linking us with him again.

    Irish hero,

Here is a hoping Ireland will pull a win in round 2…

  174. samuel - united WE stand says:

Bobby – totally agree with you. I think a change of philosophy within english football would help other british teams around them massively. England owns the best league and should feel responsible in terms of player development.

It baffles me as to why england cannot keep possession well. The idea of keeping the ball is to be composed, confident, intelligent and the team has to continue rotational movement on the pitch. It’s not difficult but if you don’t ingrain it into your mentality then it becomes an issue and the english football has to change for all british teams to learn and feel the impact. For example, michael carrick should have been a certain starter, he’s an international class player if used in the right manner but yet the hapless parker and gerrard patroll the midfield. This is one of the many problems.

Things are changing though, more technical players are wandering into the premier league, everyone now realises the important of skill and worthless choice of big burly powerhouse players. Maybe there’s hope, maybe more talented technical players will come out of all british nations, time will tell.

  175. manc in aus says:

    Clint
Would that be the same Ireland who refused to train a few days before a massive tournament? Mind you can’t knock a bit of sight seeing eh

  176. samuel - united WE stand says:

King eric – explains why gibson hasn’t started then Because with the way ireland are currently playing, his powerful whack of a shot could win a game. Not denying cole’s quality, i just think he’ll be getting exposed more as his career winds down. Always happens to full-backs.

  177. Bobby Charlton's combover says:

@samuel – things are changing and Carrick should be there but more than one player is needed to play this type of football. No point having one player who can pass and move with 3 or 4 others who can’t. That said I wouldn’t like to see it pushed to the extremes of Barçelona where too much tika-taka gets tiresome but midfields need to be able to do it when then need to.

  178. wayne says:

Modric’s contract doesn’t run out till 2016,why he signed a new contract is beyond me,if Spurs want to play hardball are in a very strong position. The reports that Utd are very close to pushing the 25 mill transfer through seems unlikely while he’s at the Euros so who knows
Supposedly Spurs are offering to double his wages but he won’t sign, maybe he struck a deal no CL football free to leave don’t think anything will get sorted till after the Euros either way doesn’t seem possible that Utd will get a easy ride without the usual suspects getting involved in any event

  179. samuel - united WE stand says:

If you call france’s football Shite then what would you describe england’s? total football?. deary me.

No one certainly felt france played brilliantly last night but they showed the talents and it will only blossom. England were tactically disciplined, they stifled france and you could see their frustrations after the game, added with the fact they kind of started slowly. Point is, have france got the potential to win the tournament if they improve drastically? yes. Have england got any chance? well let’s just say pigs have more chance of being clean decent animals and not eating their own Shit.

  180. WillieRedNut says:

How bad does that make France then? they couldn’t beat England. From what I’ve seen of this tournament so far, it’s wide open. Italy impressed me. Didn’t sit back against Spain. My tip is Germany. They can defend as team, but have the firepower to beat anyone. The quality they can bring off the bench is as good as anyone. We’ve seen open games. The goals are flowing. You tend to get this pattern in the Euros. Big teams meeting each other in the group stages. Whereas, the WC takes longer to get going. Hope this pace keeps up!

  181. samuel - united WE stand says:

bobby – agreed that you need more than one carrick to succeed but i don’t think the FA pick players based on ability and form alone or the likes of leon britton, sinclair or nathan dyer would be in the team. Technical football is a philosophy and it requires patience that fans have to approve of rather than screaming “cammon, hit it to the big fella”. I agree about not passing for the sake of passing, there has to incisive direct play missed with it. After re-circulating the ball, someone has to pick it up and drive towards goal, gotta mix it up.

  182. Mikekelly12 says:

@stevebartram1: Despite interest from clubs including Real Madrid, Chelsea, Arsenal, Kagawa apparently only wanted to talk to #MUFC

  183. WillieRedNut says:

Mikey – Read the article on the website. The German league expert spoke well of Kagawa.

  184. Jeet says:

…and that’s exactly why he’s shite. All the top players sign for chelsea.

For all the Aussie Reds out there, how did Kagawa do in the Australia Japan game?

  187. WillieRedNut says:

lawman10 – You called the De gea one? Hope you’re right. Kagawa should be officially tied up soon as well. He played his last game for Japan today.

Cuckoo land dreamer is that Benzema

Now has Moses 2 come down from the mountains – because the skies above don’t look good – and as soon as he reaches lower ground he’ll be transforming into Noah and saving us all

  189. Cyril Sneer says:

Top boy at Dortmund says the Lewy deal isn’t happening.

The deal for Angelo Henriquez is subject only to getting a work permit.

I think we should go for Strootman next because he has the best name. We can all change our usernames to include Strootman and the ROM/world will be a happier place.

  193. denton davey says:

Gerrard jumped and turned his back on the ball (as perfectly shown in the photograph in TheTelegraph Online). If he had simply just moved towards Nasri in the line of the ball – like a proper defensive midfielder – the chances are he would have blocked or deflected Nasri’s shot – or, at least, forced Nasri to choose another option.

StevieGBH clearly turns his back on the shot from 5 feet away and then he jumps out of the line of the shot. In doing this, he blocked the keeper’s view so that Joe Hart was slow in reacting to the Nasri’s excellent shot inside his near post.

Amazingly, the national press thought that the midfield combination of “Scotty” Parker – who continually gave the ball away – and StevieGBH (the brave captain !) played well. Amazing, eh ? BUT NOT SURPRISING !

  194. Jeet says:

Dembele for 11 mn – you heard it here first :)

My mates reckoned parker had a good game. My reply to them was, if throwing yourself in front of a ball on a number of occasions during a match constitutes a good game then I have the potential to be world class!

Jeet – Are you having a funny turn?

  197. MG says:

    Jeet

I’m in a Strootman pickle kind of situation

  200. denton davey says:

Jeet @ 11:14: “PSG is coming in hard and loaded for Modric?”

THAT would be good news all-around. I keep reading that Modric is “skilful” but I’ve never really seen evidence of this. I don’t see what he’d add to UTD since I don’t fancy him in a tight match when some more muscle is called for. He’d be fine in those matches in which UTD have almost complete and absolute territorial dominance and the lion’s share of possession but he’s not going to be useful in “shielding” Michael Carrick who is, of course, the “shield” of the back four – I like defence-in-depth and Modric wouldn’t provide that.

Indeed, among his team-mates, he’d be the third most-wanted by me – after Sandro and Gareth Bale.

Getting foiled by the petro/gas money of the Qatari-backed PSG would be a blessing in disguise.

About Strootman – never seen him play but I’ve read that he’s left-footed, which would be a plus. Other than that, YouTube is no way to judge any player. If he were to be a signing-target then the primary criteria would have to be how would he link with Michael Carrick and the attackers. If he’s purely a “destroyer” then he’s not for UTD. The crying-need is for someone to do what DarrenFletcherinho/Owen Hargreaves and the GreatKeane-o did – box-to-box energy with “some ball-playing skill”, too. (in that regard, I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of Nigel De Jong’s forward passing in the Netherlands defeat to the Germans – listening to the “talking heads”, I’d been of the impression that De Jong was some sort of primitive brute but the guy can play a bit; too bad he plays for TheBitters).

  201. MUFCJord says:

Wrote a little piece about a possible change in formation for next season. (Giggs and Scholes don’t even make the bench!)

    http://tinyurl.com/dx38bvc

  202. Jeet says:

@Denton: tend to agree with most of what you said, except Sandro and Bale. Truth to tell, haven’t seen a lot of Sandro, but Bale? Very overrated in my opinion.

  203. denton davey says:

Jeet – I’d agree that there’s been a lot of over-the-top raving about Bale but getting him would make sense. First, he’s young; second, he’s versatile – can play as a winger or a full-back (and don’t get me started about NinjaEvra’s defensive game !); and, third, he’s very left-footed which is a valuable asset. At Spurs, he’s been given too much freedom and I think that that leeway hasn’t helped him – or Spurs. The kid is very fast, very powerful, and very direct – he could be a left-sided version of Antonio Valencia if he was put into a disciplined role. Imagine having Bale/Valencia as UTD’s full-backs !

  204. Bobby Charlton's combover says:

@ Samuel – I think one of the problems is movement off the ball – so many times all it takes is to move a couple of yards into space to give the player on the ball an option – Barca are great at this and so too is Scholes who always offers himself. Too many times we see ‘top’ players play a pass and then turn their backs on the player in possesion like saying ‘right that’s me done now it’s your turn’. Simple things that need to be ingrained in the heads of young footballers from young age.

  205. Rufus the Thief says:

About how ‘poor’ Ireland are Least we not forgot that there are two national football teams, world class club rugby teams and a world class national rugby team that have to find there talent out only 6 million people. half of these are women not taking in to account age that’as about 3 million or so. that’s about 1/4of London. and these are not the most played and watched sports in the country. The GAA’s in huge. It’s a credit that Ireland can get in to the championships at all. look at Italy, Spain, Germany and the rest. they only really have Football. France England aside where there are other major spots mainly rugby. So don’t just say that they are ‘shit’ because the fact is most countries wouldn’t be nearly as competitive under the circumstances. But fuck that anyway, looking forward to next season. hope we can up it a gear and ram some choice words down some choice throats!

Nice to see you went with the classic Power Man (including the tiara!)

Cage hasn’t looked like that for a while

  209. Fred says:

LOL Cyril, it’s the only Power Man I know. I’ll change my name to Fred Strootman when we sign him (which we won’t.) Here’s the Japanese for Cyril: シリル

  210. Cyril Sneer says:

Brilliant! I tried to translate Cyril into Kanji but it wouldn’t work properly, it came up with three lines of text!

  211. Fred says:

Well I just used Google Translate.

  212. Cyril Sneer says:

Check out this quote from Angelo Henriquez that I have shamelessly ripped off:

“When I came to the club, aged 12, I told my colleagues that I would love to play in Manchester at Old Trafford – the Theatre of Dreams – alongside Ruud van Nistelrooy or Wayne Rooney.”

Now that’s the kind of attitude everybody likes. Pay attention Mr Hazard.

  225. Cyril Sneer says:

All our rumoured bids seem to be around the £15-20 million mark so it’s not likely we’ll be splashing out £30 million for Modric or anyone else.

If Powell and Henriquez are players for the future then maybe we’ll see a defender come in and Anderson given one more season to sort himself out.

I’ll give this nIck Powell lad a chance. Can’t be any worse than Phil Jones…

  270. cubs says:

Wow from Fletchers illnes, TC and Anderson injuries the 3 out most of the year. Where at times Giggs shone. Wazza played there some 5,6 games in the winter and by the last 12 games or so he looked lost half the game, lost in a mf link to himself. Leaving all the attack from the wings.

Now Tom C, Kagawa, Giggs, Nick Pow. Bang! Boom!?! Holy CRAP Batman! Wazza hit 40 to 47 goals 8 assists to boot!!

  271. Joffrey Baratheon says:

I hope we give him some proper game time and not just carling cup appearances with the odd 10 minute cameo in the league. I’m well aware we can’t throw him straight in at the deep end but at the same time I don’t want him to be another who makes the odd cameo appearance an spend 3/4 years at the club and become forgotten about.

  272. Arjunited says:

Remember when Cantona was sent off at Arsenal, three days after being sent off at Swindon? Nick Powell was born the next day (23/03/94).

  273. cubs says:

Wazza the other half of the game was Awesome and played great 186 goals 4th all time on MUFC list total goals a bad call against Chel$ki away from 6 straight PL titles.

  284. King Eric says:

how are you pal? hello to Tom…

  286. ji sung says:

@king eric – phil jones is an ok player. nothing great but not bad.
if he was such a top player, he would have started against france yesterday. will the lad even get a minute under his belt during the euros hmm im not too sure. good experience for him though.
good luck to powell…who knows maybe he will surprise us all…
    i bloody hope so too!!

Not getting minutes against France? It’s a silly argument.
But cmon we migh all call it an opinion.

  289. RedHarry4Life says:

King Eric totally agree about Jones think he will be a stunning player for years to come. love his and Smallings potential.

Ji Sung will he get a minute under his belt? we are talking about our Woy, the guy that thinks Johnston is a FB, brought on Henderson and thinks Kelly is better value than Rio.

I think Scott should start a thread on which United player will get the blame when England go out?

Probably be Carrick for not going

  290. Sandeep1878 says:

    Ji Sung,

    make no mistake,

when fuck all Roy doesnt even pick Rio, you expect him to play Jones…?

    No way..

and guys, young lad, just done with a debut season and the criticism starts!!

    ##

Even the players like Scholesy, Giggsy, Nani, Fletch took time before they became what they are..

the key with youth is, the fans need to be very patient…

  291. Sandeep1878 says:

even if you consider the standards of over hyped English media etc..

for his age, Phil Jones is still a class player..

He will bite the critics soon..

    BELIEVE

  292. Utd4life says:

Looks like the lad is genuinely pleased on becoming a red devil. I don’t think the Gaffer will throw him in the deep end straight away. However, I do hope that the Gaffer picks him for the pre season tour.

  295. Sandeep1878 says:

    FTM,

bebe is not finished, not yet :)

may be the most rawest player we signed in a long time :P

  296. Vilhelm28 says:

How good is this Powel? Many talents have come in our doors.

  297. ji sung says:

He picked AOC who’s a year younger than Jones lads. Not once but twice…these last 2 games. He played Jones a couple of times before the Euros so obviously he’s not too convinced of his ability. He should have just picked Rio then but let’s not get into that.

Jones just doesn’t look like a footballer and that’s just my view. I’ve not been impressed by the lad 1 bit to be honest. The way people were going on about him when we first signed him..it was like he was the new british wonder kid of football. Saying he was england’s and United’s next captain etc. Absolute bollocks imo! Yes he may be 20 but he looks as if he’s 26. He doesn’t have the ability you expect of a MUFC player and I just don’t rate the lad and nor does woy by the looks of things lol.

ji sung. You are very hard to impress mate. You need to take into consideration that Jones is still ONLY 20 so he has time on his side to develop into a truly great footballer. Very rarely do you find players who have the complete package at 20. And your argument that the Ox is a better player than Jones because Ox was played against France holds no ground because both are different players and they play for different positions. Ox is a winger whereas Jones is a CB/ Midfielder and as we know the CB and MF positions are quite heavily loaded in the England squad.

Welcome to Powell United ! :P

    Anyone seen the kid play?
Sweet Mary Magdalene’s Arse ! the boy was born in 1994

  302. Fred says:

Fletch – he’s waiting for the England job, which he will get once Woy is sacked in a couple of weeks. As I theorised the other day, Woy is just an transitional manager, selected to take the rap for this Terry farce and England’s inevitable Euro failure. He’ll be scapegoated, ridiculed and sacked and then England can have a fresh start under “the people’s choice” ‘Arry Redknapp.

You should see a specialist for that negative hateful streak ;)

See you all on the new thread! Get in Nicky Powell!

  304. Joffrey Baratheon says:

Ji sung, Phil Jones was our best player the first half of last season so fuck knows what you think of the rest of the squad!? 19 year old kid in his first full season for United and didn’t moan one bit when he was moved around the team to compensate for our injuries while putting in some brilliant performances until he got injured away to Fulham and then had his season disrupted by nigling injuries. You’ve got some bloody cheek criticising him! Not impressed one bit was you? Did you expect the world from him instantly? No pleasing some people.

I watched some youth world cup on Euosport rcently something like under 17. Think it was in Mexico. Powel played Centre midfield and was by far England’s outstanding player. remember thinking he wasn’t bad. Seemed a midfield enforcer, from what I have seen of him recently he has developed more as a attacking CM

recently read that we had signed that young Chilean Hendrique, now he looks like he will be a stunner. At 17 he is now a regular and onbe of the star players for Chile’s top team. Got a lot people in South america ravingh about him. Apparently we have 1st option on him and he has been coming iover since he was 15

Don’t compartmentalize his talents – maybe he can do both in the same way that TheGreatKeane-o did ? For sure, SAF isn’t looking for midfield additions who are limited to being “destroyers”. Even MrJones would offer more than that.

Hamzah … Kagawa was OK last night against Australia. He caused some trouble and his movement was terrific, though he wasn’t a constant threat. And although he can beat his man with turn and pace, he can also be easily dispossessed. Still, it’s hard to judge a player from one performance, especially for a national team where players are thrown together. Also, he plays slightly out of position for Japan.

Japan’s standout player was Keisuke Honda, who plays for CSKA Moscow. Australia’s standout player was Tim Cahill, who had a blinder. Cracker of a match, I thought, and Australia had every chance to win. We were all over Japan like a cheap suit in the first 25 minutes but wilted later. Not surprising, really. We played Oman on Friday night in 108F (42C) heat, then flew 15 hours (7,000 miles/6 time zones) to play Japan here four days later. There were two red cards, one apiece, both bad decisions. But on what I saw last night, either team would give England a run for its money.
