Following more disappointment for England at Euro 2012, Tom Cleverley is eager for his generation to fulfil their potential and win something.
“We have always had potentially good players when they are growing up,” said Cleverley. “Then, we seem to get knocked out at the quarter-final stage of competitions. But I am sure I am not alone, with the likes of Phil Jones, Danny Welbeck and Jack Wilshere. There are about 20 players you could name. We want to turn potential into finals and trophies. That is our job and that is what we have got to live up to.”
Cleverley struggled with injuries last season after a great start in August, but now he is feeling fit and ready to go.
“I am feeling fit. I have been doing a bit of training in the off-season and I am 100 per cent working harder.”

Short quick passing, good movement, energetic, can pick a crucial pass in the final third, he’s a real technician with the ball but the fact remains, he’s got some way to go and needs to prove himself consistently on the pitch. Next season, hopefully avoiding injuries, he can step his game up and fight for a place.

The atmosphere is shocking at a lot of he games, but that’s not to say there aren’t sections that sing their lungs out week in week out. I know Giggs12 and James21 give it both barrels for over 90 mins as do I and a small section around me but it doesn’t transmit. I thought the singing section was a good idea, it would give a strong localised volume and have a knock on effect around the stadium. The trial against newcastle worked because it got the North stand singing with the newly seated away fans! And that was without the singing section in place. I am disappointed by the decision as I was really looking forward to the move. Anyway, Giggs12, James21 myself and a decent bunch of lads will be starting our own singing section in K-stand next season….look out for us!!

What we’ve seen over the past couple of summers is a major overhaul. Almost everybody who were on the wrong side of 30 have been moved on. The only exceptions are Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs, both of whom have proven consistently that they can contribute if used correctly.
I will miss Park very much. Arguably one of the most intelligent players we’ve had in our club. You ask him to do a job, you can forget about it, he’ll get it done. No matter how much times I say this, I will never get tired. That job he did on Pirlo when we played Milan was the stuff of legend. To deny someone like Pirlo space and time on the ball when he is the master at finding both was outstanding. People have grossly underestimated him time and again. He was always there when it mattered most and has scored a host of important goals for us in the big games. You can’t do that with mere work-rate or running around. How many important goals has Parker scored again?
We may not necessarily miss Park, the player, since we’re well covered. However, we’ll miss Park, the person. We’ll miss the ultimate team player and most of all, I think we’ll miss his humility and attitude. Thank you for everything, Park!
The manchester derby was the last straw for park, his dropped level were evident. His energy has dropped and he isn’t really technically gifted to make up for it. He’s been a great efficient running machine for united, scored crucial goals and tormented arsenal several times.

Hello Mate, my comments weren’t personally aimed at anybody in particular.
I am sure there are United fans who go to matchdays and sing their hearts out every game but they are in the minority. I gave up my season ticket a few years ago because of The Glazers. I wasn’t happy with the amount of debt they had secured against the football club and as I have mentioned before even the best experts can get it wrong. If it does all go wrong United will be stripped of assets from top to bottom.
Anyhow that’s a different subject.
I found the general atmosphere was quiet at Old Trafford unless we were playing one of our Premiership rivals, regional rivals, or in the latter stages of the Champions League.
I thought that if the Old Trafford faithful can pick it up against these teams why can we not do it all the time?
On another note can you imagine the grief we would give Liverpool, or City for having a singing section?
