“I have got two season tickets at Old Trafford and sit in the main stand in a normal seat,” said Cole. “I am a United fan and just mingle in, paying my money like everybody else – though United’s chief executive David Gill usually sees me. I saw him at halftime during the Arsenal game recently and he shouted: ‘Get your boots on, we need some goals.”

Man Utd News 24/7

You’re a legend Andy, but why the fuck did you sign for City? WHY???
Vass – the guy needed some cash for the season tickets at United
If the Great Dane can sign up for Citeh then why not Andy Cole ? At that time Citeh weren’t a threat and nobody really cared too much.
brian kidd played for city after united
so did denis law
andy cole is a cool guy
Great to see that. Cole was my favorite United player back then. Gill was so funny with that.
I’ll ALWAYS remember Andy Cole for scoring that vital goal versus Barcelona, and what gem of a goal too. I think Rooney will have a season-ticket as well once his done with footy.
Andy has got 2 season tickets. guess he comes along with his son. really nice guy
andy cole is outstanding
Andy Cole, top man and totally down to earth guy.
why did so many united players go to city after finishing with united? to get paid decntwages while not having to perform at their best….so its win-win, and its not as though they really helped city become world beaters….so no problems…
lol. funny what david gill said to him. I’ll never forget his wonderful and vital goals, what a legend.
Cole is a legend. But what I can’t understand is why he chose to put his son in Citys acadamy rather than Uniteds. I read the full article that this quote is from and he said that David Gill always asks him why his his 14 year old son Devante is at City. Andy said they treat him fantastic there and he thinks its the best place for him to progress in the game.
Its a bit worrying if even legends think we can’t bring through kids anymore though.
may be because he doesn’t think his own son is good enough to play for united..
@Tricky and Devilinho yeah i am worried about that too. Schmeichel’s son also trained at City, i was very disappointed with that. I wanted his son OT. His son is such a good GK too.
Lolz at David Gill… good choice to represent our club
makes me laugh wen chelsea had their twat kenyon and pool had dick parry
In the full interview he says it’s his sons choice to play at city, that he spent a day training with united and didnt enjoy it. Cole says he’s happy as long as his boys happy and enjoying his football, which is fair enough.
So many great memories of Cole, He’ll never be up there with the Cantona’s and Giggs’s, but he’s not far behind. A great goalscorer despite what certain Ingerlund managers would have you beleive!
Really unappreciated at the time, Cole. Had probably the best movement off the ball of all strikers I’ve ever seen at OT, which made him have so many goal scoring opportunities.
Good to see that many still think good of him.
Legend.
Top man!
He Singed for citeh because he wanted to end his career at a lower club.
Andy Cole deserves more plaudits than he has ever recieved for his contribution to the treble winning season.
Top Guy. Legend.
Great Andy Cole!!
hmm… so it’s OK for all these guys to go to City but not Carlos Tevez?
I guess everyone has to look after themselves first and foremost, fair enough
@Tony Starks
I dont really care about the players from Us that have joined city.
What pissed me off is the way tevez conducted himself. The way he has talked you would think he was our top goalscorer every season he was with us!
The problem i had with tevez was he wasnt as big a goal threat as what we needed!
Wasn’t good enough for Arsenal ( his boyhood club)
They probably went to City after the best part of their career because they enjoy staying in Manchester.
Dennis law didn’t just play for citeh he relegated us!! Absolutley gutting condsidering how much of a legend he is and the statue of him best and charlton outside OT
Andy cole is a real legend
players joining rival clubs only shows two things, one that only a small number of players are emotionally committed to one club and two that most people will forget emotions and ego to one side when it comes to good money.
fair play to cole. he did fantastic for us and was one of the best striker for united.
Steviemac, that is a total miconception. Laws goal didn’t relegate us as other results meant we were already down. Also Law didn’t celebrate the goal. In fact he was so gutted – thinking his goal might have relegated us – that he refused to continue playing and came off the pitch. Real Legend!
*misconception
Thanks Andrew for the wonderfull service you gave us. We always remember you as one of the players who won us THE TREBLE !!!
The Red C, I was just going to say that.
Also, I’m pretty sure he never played a competitive first-team game of football again after that.
Although, please don’t quote me on that, it’s 3am, and I kinda do have an exam tomorrow.
Andrew Cole was one hell of a good player … a legend … no matter which teams he played for afterwards … no matter where his son prefers to train.
