Cole: Spat Is Handbags, Nev Loves Winding People Up

Andrew Cole has played down the row between Gary Neville and Carlos Tevez, claiming our captain loves getting involves in things like this.

“It’s all handbags,” said Cole. “Nev just loves that kind of stuff. He will wind up his own players, and people who don’t know Nev get the wrong idea. I played with Nev and always enjoyed his company.”

    Legend!

  3. Max says:

    COME ON U RED DEVILS!!!!!:-)

  4. Xyth says:

    Yes, Garry is a legend while Tevez is an imbecile…

  5. Big Bad Wesley Brown says:

    Nev might like widing people up but that’s not what has happened here. He made some innoccuous comments in a Maltese newspaper, in fact he was complimentary about Tevez but hinted that United couldn’t afford him. The UK tabloids ran with the story, sexing it up a bit, and one of Tevez’s new team mates told him about it, exaggerating Neville’s comments. Tevez couldn’t read the comments himself so he had to take his team mate’s word for it. As Jonny Evans said, Tevez was the victim of a WUM and he completely overreacted.

  6. Costas says:

    I was also refering to Andy as a legend, lol. I know most won’t agree. I just have a soft spot for him because he was the first transfer I witnessed United make.

  7. aig alex is god says:

    Winding someone up is fine but a united skipper making one fingered gesture is pathetic..what message does that send to our younger fans?.

    Agreed tevez acted like a cunt.does that mean nev has to do the same thing?

  8. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    tosic is gone on loan to cologne
    smalling is to have a medical today with united

  9. willierednut says:

    I thought wat gary done wasn’t to bad, keano wud have done much worse.

  10. Dave Mack says:

    Just got an E-mail from United advising us to arrive early tonight due to “increased security measures”.

    Atmosphere’s going to be electric!

    LU -IFIT

  11. willierednut says:

    According to SSN, smalling is on his way to manchester to complete the first part of his medical. He then will go to the match 2nite, then do the 2nd part of his medical 2morro, looks like he’s ours.

  12. Paul H says:

    Listened to Coley being interviewed on R5 this morning. When asked if he was concerned about the future of the club under the Glazers, he said no. When asked whether he’d prefer to play up front with Rooney, or Tevez, he said they were both great but on balance he’d go for Wazza.

  13. RED SAM says:

    @ willierednut

    will he do all that and then go back on loan ?

  14. ErezG says:

    Rio has contested the violent conduct charge – So he starts tonight. COME ON UNITED!!!

  15. willierednut says:

    @Red Sam
    He’ll get the medical done and dusted, watch the match 2nite then go back to fulham for the remainder of the season.

  16. Mr Santos LUHG says:

    Silly lad Rio, I can’ defend him hitting Craig Fagan, even if he is a tool and it was a well executed, “Sorry mate, I never saw you” whack round the chops. I think the only reason he’s challenged the F.A. charge is so he can play against City and/or Arsenal.

  17. Big Bad Wesley Brown says:

    Paul H you lying twat. Take your Glazer propaganda elsewhere. Cunt.

  18. Ashish says:

    But the fact of the matter is Neville had absolutely NO intention of winding up Tevez when he was asked whether Fergie did the right thing by selling him or not !

  19. Sig says:

    Considering we just said that Citys domain is the cup and nothing but. I’d rather rio miss this game rather than thenext 4. I’ll be at the game tonight. Penaltys. Neville gets the winner

  20. Big Bad Wesley Brown says:

    Just saw Fergie in town. He said he is behind the green & gold campaign 100% and wants to hear Old Trafford loud and proud tonight, “show the Glazer cunts no mercy” he said.

  21. DEVILisRED says:

    @ghtt
    thanks for the link. somehow have a softspot for tosic, probably his down to earth attitude & é fact that he got almost no sniff of 1st team opportunity got me rooting for him. hopes he do good at cologne & will return & play for us, 1st team. come on, this world can’t be that screw up. on one hand, we have that fucking lying, full of himself piece of shit argie twat earning big bucks, scoring goals at wasteland & on the other hand, u have a hardworking, down to earth but gifted tosic whose career juz seems to keep hitting straight into é wall. there has to be justice in this world. é good must be rewarded, evil must be punish. end of.
    come on United!! for é good of the world, serve out é right justice tonite!

  22. Macheda IS GOD says:

    weve loaned tosic to cologne

  23. Costas says:

    Tomorrow we will find out whether Rio’s move was wise or not. I doubt he will be found innocent, despite the fact that he will probably claim that he was in a tussle. What I find funny is that for a similat, yet more serious incident(Ronaldo vs Malaga), Ronaldo just got a 2 math ban. Yet Rio could be facing 4 games out…

  24. Xyth says:

    This is great:

    ‘Robinho’s proposed move to Santos could yet be scuppered after one of the youngsters involved in the deal admitted he did not want to join Manchester City’. [Skysports]

    Not only well established football superstrs, but young emerging players are also telling Shity to Fuck off!!!! This kid is called Paulo Henrique.
    Good for him.

  25. Costas says:

    Here’s the possible line up for tonight:

    VDS-Brown, Rio, Evans, Evra – Valencia, Carrick, Fletch, Nani – Rooney, Berba

  26. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    Paulo Henrique > city

  27. Costas says:

    Paulo Henrique has obviously grown up in the right manner: He learned not to get involved with shit(y).

  28. Tony Starks says:

    Big Bad Wesley Brown… yeah and I heard that the Glazers themselves have joined the green & gold campaign too…

  29. READ CAREFULLY WHAT I says:

    Tonight is the night
    when we shovel out the shite.
    City come to our place so we`ll kick them in the face
    They think they can sense a cup
    but as usual will fuck up
    We can order in the Beers as it will soon be 35 years
    City are a massive club
    but Michael Owen is our sub
    So we shall batter them tonight
    and end their little dream
    Welcome to Manchester and the real Football team.

  30. Giles Oakley says:

    Sorry, but I still think Gary Nev was completely in the wrong with his finger gesture to Tevez, in every way. Also, in the context of Tevez’s known bitter attitude to United, Gary’s comments to the Malta Times before the first leg were ill-advised. They are innoccuous enough at face value, but none of us, absolutely none of us, can have been surprised by Tevez’ reaction to them, as Gary must have expected. His comments effectivley said ‘I’m not bothered about Tevez, he’s not that big a loss’, which was always going to come across as ‘lack of respect’ to a macho man from the Argentina barrios. Gary knew that, we knew that, so of course Tevez’ team-mates knew that, and had ammunition to wind up Carlos even more before the match, as shown by his demonic display, which duly won the match, and may win the tie. Those comments explain the vehemence of Tevez’ ‘shut it’ hand gestures. Gary may well like ‘winding people up’, I’m sure he does, most of us do ,but there’s a time and place. Antagonising Tevez just before the biggest United/ City match in a generation was plain stupid, and very self-indulgent. I thought Matt Dickinson’s article was a very fair statement of the defence, but not the whole story by any means, especially as Matt is the ghost writer for Gary’s autobiography, which may explain why he’s defending him so strongly when other journos in the Fergie camp, like Hugh McIllvenny, strongly criticed Neville.

  31. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    Sky just said this is citys biggest game in 28 years?????????
    i think they forgot about the other 6

  32. This is what i have says:

    @ read carefully what i have said, lovely post
    BTW Rio has pleaded not guilty i think it’s a wise choice
    because those shit faces in the FA will slap a ban on him anyway!
    so he will miss 3 games plus the one against Everton and i think its better 4 him to face shitty and put them in their rotten place than Everton

  33. rooney the new king says:

    are we suprised in todays football. some ppl get upset over anything, we dont have enough players like gary neville who speaks his mind and is pationate about united, yet we have idiots who put him down just because his hatred for teams oh thats against this made up law the media some bitchy players and the fatcats of the FA and the premier league have brought in.

  34. READ CAREFULLY WHAT I says:

    As far as saying Gary Neville likes to wind people up, I have never heard anyone say , ” I really like him, because he`s a wind – up merchant ”

    We can lower ourselves to slate Tevez but our Club Captain should rise above all that.

    Let us not forget to keep perspective though and remember that he did not try and run his kids over in the carpark or call his missus a slag. What he did say in the paper was no huge insult however sensitive or macho you might be.
    No big deal and neither comes out if this as a more admirable and noble professional athlete do they ? Tevez looks like a bitter spurned girl who has been fucked and then dumped by the boyfriend she loved. Gary Neville looks like he stoops rather than rises above petty little gestures. He is a Footballer and not a Senior Diplomat in the Foreign Office so we neednt worry as much about his inter-personal skills as much as his ability to block a shot or tackle an opponent.

    All a bit of fun for us though and something to talk shit about down the pub which is all part of the fun in my view.

    Gary Neville gave an Argie the Finger and the world stopped turning and caused a tectonic plate to shift resulting in the death of 150,000 innocents in Haiti. -

  35. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    :)
    Got the away goal advantage sorted it was abit hard because
    the carling cup has its very own away goal rule and its that away goals will only count in extra time, this means that if the we win 1-0 after 90 minutes then we go to extra time. If the score remains the same after extra time then we will progress to the final on the away goals rule.

  36. rooney the new king says:

    gary neville could wind up anyone, what ever neville says someone will wine like a bitch has if he offended ppl from 911, fans see neville has vile as goerge bush

  37. rooney the new king says:

    Gotta hate tiny tears – to be honnest I dont see united keeping a clean sheet these days they will have to get atleast 3 or 4 goals today

  38. Giles Oakley says:

    I agree Read Carefully, well put. You’re right, we should keep things in perspective. Hope we all have good shit to talk about later tonight…

  39. Alex says:

    THIS GAME MEANS SO MUCH!

  40. Costas says:

    Not trying to turn back the clock now, but there were times when Roy Keane didn’t act as a responsible club captain either. When you remember things like his tackle on Haaland, some of his uncalled for sending offs, the comments in his autobiogaphy or the infamous MUTV interview, then Gary’s gesture seems like a drop in the ocean. Of course, that wasn’t the first time Gary acted like a fan instead of a captain was it?

    Not trying to diminish what Roy did for us by any means. And I am not comparing the two as captains either. Just saying that club captains can often fall of the tracks so to speak. I would have liked to mention a few Bruce or Robson incidents(if there are any), but I think Giles Oakley is more equiped for that than me. :D

  41. Rifraf says:

    Totally unrelated -sorry! Anyone seen this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3L4Rpb04zWg (Manchester United “Devil Worship Club”)Click on the More info button for added hilarity

  42. READ CAREFULLY WHAT I says:

    @Giles Oakley

    I am sure by the end of play today we will all have the latest,biggest,greatest most controversial thing ever to happen in modern football to discuss ad nauseum.
    Until the next game comes along that is.

    My favourite topic for discussion is always – Which of United`s six goals was the best and just why exactly was Tevez crying when he walked off the pitch at the Theatre of someone else`s dreams.

  43. trevor says:

    @READ CAREFULLY WHAT

    I agree where your coming from but to be honest, for me i loved what Gary Nev done! It showed he is a real fan!

    He only did what every other fan wanted to and probaly did and worse!

    You are correct that he shouldnt have done it but so what! Fuck Tevez! i have no respect for Tevez at all not even taking into concideration what he did on the night celebrating the goals that wasnt much to be honest! not in the same league as agabagohshite.

    Why i hate tevez is because of the lack of respect he showed the club and fergie when he left. He told so many lies it was unreal!

    Never offered a contract until 5 days ago?……………… Quater Final of the champions league i think fergie stated in an interview that a contract was put to him!

    Didnt hear tevez say that it wasnt?

    What was wrong with Gary Neviles Comments that Tevez wasnt worth 25 mil at the time?? For me nothing! Drop in financial climate only Shity and Real had money to spend!….For me 18 – 20 million would have been about right!… City paid over the odds as they have no money worries at all! + who cares how he has performed since then, at that time he just wasnt worth 25.. well in my eyes and i guess Fergie & Sir Nev!

  44. trevor says:

    Lads

    What will tomorrow headlines be?

    Id love this!

    “Gary Nev i Shuts Tevez up and Proves he is a Red!!… in the 93rd minute of injury time Gary Nevile Scored an unbeleiveable volley from a perfectly floated Giggs Corner!….His Celebration of Taking his Shirt off, running round Tevez in circles swinging his shirt over his head then Earnt him his second yellow and the ref had no option to give him a Red!……. nev didnt seem to mind leaving the picth and continued to dance down the toughline kissing his badge!!”

    If only!! hahahaa

  45. rooney the new king says:

    trevor – I disagree on the price tag you are giving tevez. I hate the guy has well as the next united fan but 25 million I think is just about right for tevez, consider his age his ability to score when it really matters and the energy and determination he gives, especially when you see the price tags on players these days I find 25 million a bargain when you see the prices payed for berbatov benzama ronaldo kaka alonzo, look at prices for ribery aguero sorry to say tevez price tag is a bit of a bargain despite how much of a asshole he has been.

  46. chrispiano says:

    Can someone post a link to this as soon as they find one? I wish i still had Sky

  47. Williamkulha says:

    @chrispiano
    just head to myp2p.eu mate, they have lists of links and you’re bound to find one that works, you may have to download sopcast however to get a decent quality one. Cheers and I hope we have something to celebrate late into tonight for.

  48. chrispiano says:

    Cheers Williamkulha. I’m really nervous about this game, it could go either way hopefully not as dramatic for us as the blackburn aston villa game, i’d probably have a heart attack. maybe a reenactment of the Roma 9-1 etc.

  49. Corea says:

    I don’t get one thing. Is everyone resigned to losing Vida in the summer ? Why everyone of us is so forgetful of everything Vida did for the club ? I don’t want new defenders in the club, i want Vida in the club. He is made for United, not Madrid. Cmon, Ana, get this straight!
    ARGH!

  50. TonyBee says:

    Dozy bastards aint showing the game on the fuckling tele, it looks like…. anyone got any links….????

  51. rooney the new king says:

    Corea – there will always be better and younger defenders over the horizon and the reality is vidic time is almost up

  52. Jim says:

    Guys if you are feeling nervous watch this … hilarious stuff

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3L4Rpb04zWg&feature=player_embedded#at=41

  53. Costas says:

    @Corea

    Hi mate. Haven’t seen you in a few days. I am wondering the same thing. He is a United player until 2012, I don’t care what Ana wants. Smalling can’t replace him straight away.

  54. rooney the new king says:

    Costas – ryan showcroft would be a great signing to replace vidic

  55. Trevor says:

    @rooney the new king

    I agree with you on energy although tevez didnt have a very good goal scoring record at united to justify it!

    If the financial downturn had of happened the summer after then i would have said he would have definatly been worth the £25 mil, At that time when the financial Market was Uncertain he certainly wasnt worth the £25 mil… Its all about opinions!!

    Smiles!

  56. Trevor says:

    @Corea

    With regards to Vidic id love him to stay!.. Although with the roumours last season, His admission that his wife isnt happy. If he isnt happy then i would happily take £30 Million for him……..

    He wont be completly replaced by Evans but not far off from what i can see! Is the difference worth £30 Mill to invest in another area which is more lacking?………Id certainly take the £30 Mil

    in fergie we trust!

  57. sppibsihmkcrkg says:

    gary neville is a red, is a red, is a red, gary neville is a red he hates tevez!

  58. RED SAM says:

    i think united fans has the strongest sense of humour ( esp here at RoM ) just now i’ve read that the glazers have joined the green and gold campaign :)

  59. Trevor says:

    @rooney the new king

    Ryan showcroft certainly looks a player but i very much doubt he would come if not gaurenteed first time football!

    Would showcroft be an improvement on Evans, for me Certainly not?

    We let Pique Go which i liked and i think if both Pique and Evans had been a little younger i recon fergie would have over the next 2 -3 years got rid of both ferdinand and vidic and brought both of them through!

    A little harsh. but taking good money for both Ferdinand and Vidic and in return not loosing to much quality plus also reinvesting the money in another area of the pitch where it was lacking!

  60. Corea says:

    You just do not understand. It is not the way to treat your fucking players. So easy to forget everything one does for your club. It’s a pity i come across posts like “his time is almost up”. sorry, didn’t want to comment on this further in order to stay away from the dirty quarrel.

  61. RED SAM says:

    Corea spot on.

  62. Trevor says:

    @RED SAM

    Awsome, Would love it if they turned up wearing green and gold! But i am sure it would all turn nasty!

    Although i openly am against this campaign and feel it so far is unjustified and of no benifit to our team what so ever!

    To date for me the glazers have done everything promised and only put the ticket prices up a little! Supply and demand and comparison to other top 6 teams clearly show this is not too much!

    I agree with some gripes but it is a business, and is the way of most clubs! End of!

    Sugar Daddies like Abramabitch and Shity Shike & the situation at real are abnormal!

  63. rooney the new king says:

    Trevor – well if vidic is gone and ferdinands decline showcroft would get plenty of action and he has all the agression and strength of vidic and he is brittish and much younger. and I will say again many united fans are being hypocritical when they look at the pricetag of tevez when berbatovs price tag is more costly. for me a patnership of evans and showcroft could be just has good as ferdinand and vidic at their best.

  64. Fze123 says:

    Well said, Andy. But I hope he doesn’t go overboard tonight if we win/lose. We can’t afford any more bans or fines.

    Who ever is going to be at OT (lucky bastards), I hope you blast the roof. Just for tonight, put the debt issue aside and get behind the players throughout the whole game. Fergie, Giggs and Evans have also urged the fans to create a huge atmosphere. The PA system won’t play any music so that the fans voice is all the players are going to hear as they are coming onto the pitch. I am sure it will be a cracking game.

    Hopefully Fergie plays a 4-4-2 and a good team, and the ref makes fair decisions. I don’t want this to turn out like how it did in the Leeds game, when we were so sure we will be able to beat the fuckers but just didn’t turn up.

  65. bchilds says:

    Just over an hour till kick off now, pumped up for this game so much. Come on United!

  66. williamkulha says:

    Is Vidic still injured? I just heard that he was on Sky but to hell with them, I want to hear it from a source that doesn’t bend over for the FA.

  67. Costas says:

    @RNTK

    Shawcross is good, but he can’t fill Vidic’s boots at this point. He was our player of the season just 12 months ago and he is still 28.

  68. sppibsihmkcrkg says:

    who the fuck is showcroft

  69. Costas says:

    @williamkulha

    Vida will be out for 10 more days I think. That’s what Sir Alex said last Friday.

  70. rooney the new king says:

    sppibsihmkcrkg – well it shows your knoledge of football.

    Costas – vidic was I will say again it is time united cashed in on vidic to many injurys he is picking up.

    team tonight
    vds
    rafeal ferdinand evans evra
    scholes carrick fletcher
    nani rooney giggs

  71. bchilds says:

    Who’s that twat from Argentina…

  72. bchilds says:

    RTNK

    Is that the offical team?

    Reasonably happy with that IF Rooney gets proper support upfront from Nani and Giggs

  73. bchilds says:

    Man City team: Given, Richards, Kompany, Boyata, Garrido, Barry, De Jong, Zabaleta, Wright-Phillips, Bellamy, Tevez.

  74. SimSima69 says:

    Man City team: Given, Richards, Kompany, Boyata, Garrido, Barry, De Jong, Zabaleta, Wright-Phillips, Bellamy, Tevez.

    Man Utd team: Van Der Sar, Rafael, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Carrick, Fletcher, Scholes, Nani, Giggs, Rooney.

    Not so attacking but I can see us creating a lot of chances from the wings through Nani, Giggs and even Evra bombing up and down all night. At least Nani gets a deserved start..let’s see how he does in a big game playing on the right!

    My prediction 2-1 United..Cmon you REDS!

  75. Costas says:

    Thanks guys?

    4-5-1 and no Valencia?

  76. RED SAM says:

    Who are you guys talking about, showcroft or ryan showcross ??

  77. ProperMancsAreRed says:

    Evening lads :)

    Does anyone know a link where you can get a free livestream of the game?

    My TV broke down..

  78. rooney the new king says:

    bchilds – yes that is the team and it justifys my point for tactical reasons united need a fluient striker to fit into a 433 system.

  79. Costas says:

    I don’t get this. We have 2 strikers on the bench and we start with the only striker who will also start 4 days later at the Emirates.

  80. Trevor says:

    I find it Strange we have no Valencia!

    Fegie might just be pulling another master stroke!… Mabe he is working on Nani mind games!

    After a fantastic performance from Nani, maybe fergie is hoping to Give Nani a confidence boost and show that he has faith in him and give him the green light to produce the goods!

    Although i wouldnt be too supprised if Nani is on the left wing, and fletcher on the right to counter Bellamy for the first half and hope our possession turns into a goal!

    2nd half we have owen and berbatov in reserve if they are subs, i know 2 strikers will be just havent seen them!

    Come on the reds!!!

  81. rooney the new king says:

    Costas – because berbatov and owen are not fluent strikers and it would look ridget, has we were when van nistlerooy was playing with rooney and ronaldo at the start of the 05/06 season.

  82. DebRed says:

    where the hell is valencia, is he injured?

  83. rooney the new king says:

    Trevor – because nanis best positin is RW and there is far more guile and end product and veriaty from nani on the RW than valencia offers. I would use valencia on the left since he likes to cut inside.

  84. Trevor says:

    @rooney the new king

    I felt sorry for Van Nistlerooy 05/06 seaso because of ronaldo. That season he was so so selfish and so many times could have put it on a plate for Van Nistlerooy and didnt due to inexperience!

    Any wonder Van Nistlerooy had the hump with him and lost patience, at 29 how many times are you going to bust your bollox to make runs in the box when you know your not going to get a pass!…

  85. Fze123 says:

    Not feeling confident because of the 4-5-1 formation. Hope I can be proved wrong, but I really hoped Fergie would play 2 upfront to support Rooney.

  86. bchilds says:

    Bench: PIG, Brown, Owen, Berbatov, Valencia, Park, Vidic

  87. Trevor says:

    @rooney the new king

    Interesting, Would like to see valencia on the left and have them swapping which we might see int he near future!

    Although i do like valencia, he has been very consistant for us and looks quite threatening when he takes on the defender!

    Some of his crosses and end balls are poor but arnt all wingers from time to time!

    Its a great option for us to have, just hope nani carries his form into this game which i expect he will!

  88. Che Guevarist says:

    I thought it was quite obvious that we play MUCH better with 2 strikers, but what do I know? I hope that if we don’t play too well, as is often the case when we play 4-5-1 Fergie won’t wait too long to bring on the changes.

  89. sppibsihmkcrkg says:

    rooney the new king you moron, firstly if you are gonna try showing someone up try learning to spell knowledge. Give you a clue, there’s a w in it! Secondly as someone pointed out which was my orgincl point it’s shawcross, ya know, ex united now plays for stoke! Oops looks like your knoWledge is litte lacking

  90. Trevor says:

    @Fze123

    Think he wants to ensure we dont go 1-0 down.

    We will have all the possession and dont forget we will be playing against a 5 man midfield and the last thing we need is to get over run in midfield!

    They have players who can hurt!

  91. Costas says:

    @rooney the new king

    It’s not about the other two in my opinion. Playing 4-5-1 at Old Trafford doesn’t work well for us. Of course there are fitness issues with both Berba and Owen, but Fergie could have started with Diouf, if he wanted to preserve the other two for the Emirates.

    Anderson is absent as I see. At least Vidic made the bench. That means that he will probably start at Arsenal.

  92. Trevor says:

    @sppibsihmkcrkg

    Just cause you can spell doesnt mean you are any better than the rest of us!

    Picking someone up about their spelling reminds me of being back at school!

  93. rooney the new king says:

    Trevor – nana’s best games have been RW aasnnlafeeb 2008 coms to mind.

    Che Guevarist – well berbatov and owen have not set the world alit so it wont make much of a diference if it was 442 or 433

  94. bchilds says:

    sppibsihmkcrkg

    Come on pal, no need for name calling. Lets all get behind the team.

  95. Trevor says:

    @sppibsihmkcrkg

    Sorry to let you know, you spelt original wrong, there is no C in original!

  96. Trevor says:

    @rooney the new king

    Dont dissagree..

  97. Che Guevarist says:

    @ Costas

    Exactly what I’m thinking. I don’t see the point of playing with only Rooney upfront at home on an occasion where we need to score more than the oppostion. Ruud could play upfront by himself, but we know how that works for Rooney.

    It’s true that the game hasn’t started yet but it’s just that 4-5-1 has just not worked for us this season, at least not at home.

  98. rooney the new king says:

    sppibsihmkcrkg – firstly my keyboard is fcked up so there will be spelling mistakes, secondly you have no clue about football in general if you are saying showcroft is average because he plays for stoke where did vidic and evra play for average clubs. showcroft is one of stokes key defenders, go watch other games instead of watching superstar players you idiot.

    oh yes it is original not orgincl

  99. Costas says:

    Ok, lets get back to the game please.

    Anyway, I think this formation is a mistake. Against City this season, the only times we got on top of them were when we played 4-4-2, no matter if it was Owen or Berbatov that was partnering Rooney.

    I just hope Ando doesn’t magically disappear for a month like Nani did in December. But he hasn’t done himself any favors. And what’s the deal with Valencia? That’s 2 games he hasn’t started now.

  100. rooney the new king says:

    Trevor – looks like that retard cant spell original right LOL his name says it all

  101. sppibsihmkcrkg says:

    trevor, guess that makes me a moron too hey! Listen fella, only reason i picked up on that was i asked who showcroft is seems as i have never heard of a showcroft, then rtnk tells me my football knowledge is poor! If someone asks a question then surely a decent answer would be expected hey?

  102. Corea says:

    Chelsea have just scored ((
    Come on you reds!

  103. Costas says:

    @Che Guevarist

    With 4-5-1 we have had some success on the road. At OT, not so much. This reminds me a bit of the semi final with Chelsea in 05 at OT, when Fergie started with Saha in a 4-5-1 and left Rooney on the bench.

  104. Mancaroon says:

    fucks sake……..you sound like a pair of bitches…………stop moaning at each other and start backing the reds. LUHG

  105. Costas says:

    So much for Brum’s unbeaten record…

    Hopefully Villa will shut out Arsenal.

  106. Colbert says:

    Come on United!

  107. edwin says:

    COME ON UNITED!!!

  108. Costas says:

    Come on United!

  109. sppibsihmkcrkg says:

    rooney the new king, firstly lets get my original point sorted, it’s shawcross not showcroft. Ok that done with, i never said he weren’t any good, i happen to think he’s a belting defender and would of liked to of kept him instead of pique to be honest. Don’t throw aspersions on what you don’t know mate

  110. Fze123 says:

    @ Trevor – Well, 4-5-1 hasn’t done us many favours before, but I hope we make use of the possession. Rooney hates being upfront alone so I hope he won’t get frustrated and try not to drop so deep as there will be 5 in midfield anyway.

  111. sppibsihmkcrkg says:

    C’MON UNITED!

  112. RED SAM says:

    I cant believe am missing the game :p there is no one outside except for the dogs,police and thieves. i dont know which i would rather fall on :(

  113. DownunderManc says:

    Rooney alone again – why why why?

  114. ben says:

    Rio is again hitting an opponent. Now it’s Tevez

  120. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    wow tevez ran and ran and ran and ran but it all ca o nothing
    where have i seen that before

  121. Tony Starks says:

    Rooney looks so so isolated, such a shame

  122. Gotta hate tiny tears says:

    dear anderson
    take note of your mate Nani
    you can turn it around

  123. DebRed says:

    will we ever score

  124. RED SAM says:

    Updates pleasssse !!

  125. edwin says:

    For fucks sake….
    Had to make that save ;)

  126. Tony Starks says:

    even game so far.. city have had a good chance, tevez doing quite well… we’ve been getting in good positions forcing lots of corners, but no real good chances for us yet…

  127. Tony Starks says:

    o and I think that given guy is going to save everything today…

  128. dv-ant says:

    for a momment there i forgot carrick was on the pitch
    hes been very quite

  129. DebRed says:

    have e forgotten to score…come on attack

  130. Tony Starks says:

    Am I wrong or are we the team that needs the goal?

  131. edwin says:

    The shitty scum are diving like the cunts they are. Unbelievable.

  132. Long John O'Shea says:

    we need 2 up top…..

  133. DebRed says:

    Tony Starks Said…
    we certainly not playing like that…
    will we score ever again???
    am so pissed

  134. ben says:

    Maybe he doesn’t play two up because Rooney can’t complete a pass to save his life. WTF?!? This is one weekne…… he completes a nice pass as I type this… nevermind….

  135. Che Guevarist says:

    Ain’t working. We need 2 goals. Enter Owen please.

  136. Tony Starks says:

    Nani has been good so far.. but credit to city they have defended very well, at the moment we don’t look like getting a goal… does anyone know if away goals count?

  137. Corea says:

    What a poor first half. Thank you, Fergie.

  138. Costas says:

    Not surprising really. That’s how games at OT where we play 4-5-1 usually go.

  139. Trevor says:

    @Corea

    Hardly fergies fault fella!

    Were still in it!

  140. james f says:

    Away goals count only after the end of extra-time. So, in theory, we only need one goal to get through.

  141. Colbert says:

    For fuck’s sake, are we really going to hand it to them this meakly? Rooney CAN’T and SHOULDN’T play on his own. They are easily containing us in this cautious formation. We are Man United at home and we need to win. Get on another striker!

  142. Mancaroon says:

    carrick off, berba on………………..4 4 2
    has to do it, these are here for the taking

  143. TonyBee says:

    soccertvlive.net is working click link 1
    and we are playing shit
    who are our subs today

  144. bchilds says:

    First half’s been a bit of a nonentity so far, plenty of hard work and endeavor but lacking the final ball and space has been difficult to come accross so far.

    If we continue to put 100% in we’ll get a few openings and then it’s up to us to take the chances.

    Old Trafford is rocking though which is great to hear, no anti-Glazer chants so far, everybody is just getting behind the team.

  145. Che Guevarist says:

    Nani has been triple-marked today, yet he’s still doing well. As expected (and it’s the story of our season) we play 4-5-1 at home, Rooney seldom touches the ball, gets frustrated and then we hardly ever test the keeper.

  146. Mahesh says:

    uninspiring to say the least, and its down to Fergie. Rooney needs someone else up front – he looks sharp but has little service. Nani’s been the only other play that has looked good today. Giggs has been awful – everytime the ball goes towards him, I expect the move to break down, and sure enough it does. SAF has got to make a couple of changes soon – and giggs will be the one off for me.

    I will be mighty pissed off if we go out with a 0-0 or some such score having persisted with this formation beyond 60 minutes.

  147. curtis says:

    We are lookin like the away team, this is not looking good at all shity had the best chances and they out-singing us :-( ..

    please take of scholes (not playing bad) but on a yellow and 2nd half is gonna be more pacey i feel.
    we cant do it with 10men so its the best thing to do..

    ENTER OWEN!!!

  148. White Pele says:

    Your best players need to have the ball, Rooney needs someone up top with him to have sustained pressure, I’d like to see Berba come on

  149. Corea says:

    I don’t fucking care if we are in it. I want to see some football before we concede a goal.

  150. bchilds says:

    I didn’t actually realise Carrick was playing until 15mins into the game, had forgotten and he did nothing to remind me he was on the field!

    I’m happy for it to be kept as is for a while, if after an hour it’s still 0-0 or worse I’d bring on Owen in place of Carrick and go 4-4-2 as the Rooney/Owen partnership looked good in the last 15mins at Citeh and against Hull at the weekend.

    Come on United!

    LUHG

  151. Oberrrrr the Moonn says:

    GET IN BERBAAA
    OHH CHRIS SMALLING IS THERE…HE’S SIGNING AUTOGRAPHS…HOW NICE..I LOVE HIM ALREADY!!
    HONESTLY!!

  152. utdforever says:

    Bring on the BERBATOV!

  153. DEVILisRED says:

    we play okay in the first half, not too bad. But we going to be creating very little with only rooney up front. for godness sake, this’s not a league game. draw are no good, we needed a goal, why are we starting with only one forward? with every passing minutes, the lads’s going to get more nervy & shitty confident is going to grow. anyhow, scholes again are impressive in he middle of the park. Carrick is too quiet for me. We should replace carrick with berba with 2nd half. We got 45 min. I really hope to see more fires in the display.

  154. Bebeto says:

    4-5-1 again? No, no, no, no.. stop it!

    We absolutely dominated them last week in midfield. Two up front would have been safe. In the second leg, chasing the game, what do we do? Revert to the conservative 4-5-1, a formation that has stifled us during too many home games this season.

    Yet again, Fergie gets his tactics wrong at Old Trafford. We need a second striker from the off in the second-half. Not with 20 minutes to go, not with 15.. all of the second half. Sacrifice Scholes or Carrick.. we can’t afford to go on as we have.

  155. keano says:

    we need another striker on, cos they are playing with 3 defensive midfielders

  156. Fze123 says:

    We played quite well but it was frustrating to watch. I hate this goddam formation. We shouldn’t be playing one striker at home. Why the fuck didn’t the ref book Bellamy in the 30 minute when he put his hand on Rafael’s chest and thrust him tot the ground? Did no else see that?

    I hope Fergie brings on Owen and leaves Berbatov for the gooners on Sunday. I just want us to kill this game off, hopefully with an early second half goal and another after that. Why does it take us so bloody long to score? Hopefully we will see more attacking in the second half.

  157. Drew Vader says:

    Welp that was boring…

    Nani and Rafael are playing well. Come on lads

  158. Tony Starks says:

    Is there anyone more annoying on TV than Jamie Redkanpp!

  159. Trevor says:

    Quite a dissapointment, We know city are going to be very defensive but we really need to get more shots on goal!

    For me, Carricks performance highlights why i am begining to dislike him as a player. He doesnt do much with the ball and relys on scholes to play it about!

    SCholes has done well, nasty challange which he hs become acustom to. Why i dont know!

    Nani – Some poor corners and some poor passing decisions. He needs to stop running into people and trying very difficult things. On comparison Valencia is stronger, Uses the ball better & keeps things simple which at times we really needed in this half!… I think nani will eitehr be given 10 or 15 mins then valencia will replace him.

    Fletcher has put in a good shift graft wise but attacking play and effectivness quite poor.

    Giggs and Evra seem to be there usual self

    Rooneys runs are quite good!

    Rafa!………… Well impressed, the lad has done really really well against bellamy!… Im quite impressed really!

    Second half i expect 15 minutes then Berbatov on for Carrick or Fletch or scholes…. My choice would be carrick, but i guess scholes would go due to his age & his yellow card! Valencia on for Nani…..15 or 10 Minutes to go i expect Rafa to be replaced with owen for a nail biteing 10 or 15 minutes!

    My Fear for the second half is that Scholes gets a second yellow or city get a goal on the break!

    Luck in the first half…. Ferdinands challange on tevez in the box, got alot of the player and no where near the ball…looking at the replay 70% pen 30%not… in my eyes!

  160. bchilds says:

    Terry ‘You Know When You’ve Been Tangod” Venables!

  161. Corea says:

    And remember Scott put the article after our defeat at Eastlands “We’ll batter them at OT”
    hardly a battering.

  162. Fze123 says:

    @ Bebeto, agree mate. I’d take of Carrick and bring on Owen. Scholes is playing well, asides from that stupid tackle he got booked for.

  163. Costas says:

    I don’t like 4-5-1 and I wonder if this was the occasion for Diouf. Owen couldn’t start because he did so 3 days ago and Berba couldn’t start because he will start on Sunday. Rooney has started everyone of the last 11 games…

  164. Trevor says:

    @Drew Vader

    Nani playing well.. He has tried but hasnt been too effective,, not think he has made a few bad decisions?

    He is however looking confident which is a good sign!

  165. Colbert says:

    Tony Starks

    Tommy Smyth… “with a y”. Cunt.

  166. Trevor says:

    @Costas

    think fergie played it safe with 451 for the first half. think he expected more chances on target….

    Hopefully the second half will bare fruits!

  167. Corea says:

    Yeah, what a shocker from Scholesy. He just turnes off his brain at times. :(

  168. Colbert says:

    Costas

    Why couldn’t Owen start? I understand Berbatov not starting because of his injury but Owen is fit and should be able to play two games a week like everyone else.

  169. Trevor says:

    @Keano,

    Sometimes a 3 man midfield can completly dominate the 2 in the other team!……… Saying that most of the play is down the wings!…

  170. edwin says:

    Well… Need to score…
    Expecting an excellent team talk to get the boys up for this…
    COME ON UNITED!!!

  171. Costas says:

    @Trevor

    Maybe it should have been Valencia for Giggs then. We will see. I think he will give this 11 another 15 minutes before he changes anything.

    I agree with Corea. What was Scholes thinking?

  172. Trevor says:

    @Colbert

    Think fergie was playing it safe not starting owen…

    seeing the match progress id now choose berbatov over owen as he has some height… Before the match i wanted owen but city are playing too deep for owen to have a bigger effect!

    Saying that,, In fergie i trust!!

  173. Costas says:

    @Colbert

    I don’t think Fergie has the faith in him to do so. Has he ever started consecutive games for us? No. Sometimes I wonder if we are protecting him more than we should.

  174. Trevor says:

    With regards to scholes, if it was red there was part of me thinking… well it wasnt great!… a little harsh but wouldnt be supprised type of thing!

    He wont change..

    The effect is that it puts him 1 away from a booking!!… Also increases the chances of him coming off when he has been the best out of fletch or carrick!

  175. Costas says:

    Off to watch the second half. Come on United. Please.

  176. Colbert says:

    Costas

    Yeah, exactly. That’s what I think. Owen is far fitter than people give him credit for.

  177. Fze123 says:

    Where would we be without VDS

  178. Corea says:

    What a fuck is going on ? We won’t score 2 goals for fucks sake.

  179. edwin says:

    Ah fuck me, pulled off another good one there! ;)
    On a more serious note.. What the fuck is going on at the back!!

    EDIT: Yellow for Tevez! Take that Cunt!!!

  180. Colbert says:

    Rooney is dropping deep now and completely stifled again. CHANGES NOW

  181. Tony Starks says:

    FUCK OFF CITEH::MANCHESTER IS RED

  273. Corea says:

    City still have FA Cup to play for.
    I just hope it will give us the momentum to win the league. Carling Cup is a Carling Cup no more than that.

  274. manu4life says:

    though responsible for goal Rio was solid and we will miss him. today we played very very well. Our midfield won us this game carric, flecher and schols were outstanding.

  275. long john o'shea says:

    Earlier in the game I said we needed 2 up top… I’m sorry I was fucking gladly wrong …

    Lads when will all this talk of rooney being the white pele stop? Pele was the black ROOOOOONNNEEEYYYYY!

  276. Costas says:

    Don’t you just love how Carrick alwats passes the ball to the back of the net?

    On a side note. That idiot shouldn’t have thrown the bottle.

  277. bchilds says:

    Well done lads, first half was a bit ‘meh’ but what a second half – congratulations United! Woop! I bet Wazza feels so much better now after that miss at 2-0, could have been costly but he brushed himself down and got the winner – what a celebration too!

    Ah, this feels so good beating the noisy neighbours, United joy + Citeh misery = adrenaline!

    I know, even if we win the final, I won’t feel this happy!

  278. dv-ant says:

    now to fuk arseanal on sunday

  279. MinhTriet says:

    this is one of the best moment of this year
    winning against shitty always turns me on man, especially after what tev-ass did

  280. Corea says:

    There is a slim line between success and disaster. Yes, we can actually say Fergie got it right at the end of the day.

  281. jespermoses says:

    fucking get in there!! quality second half!

    im buzzing!

    See the City fans at the end……bubbling away like babies.sweet!

  282. Costas says:

    When Wayne missed that sitter, I knew he had something special planned. ;)

  283. Sketch says:

    I would take that dramatic ending and late goal any day over a simple 4-0 thrashing. Just the look of disappointment on their faces almost makes up for the nerves. Ha. They were so close. But still light years behind united in terms of quality. Take that you bitters.
    U.N.I.T.E.D

  284. Costas says:

    In retrospect, it wasn’t the 4-5-1 formation. It was the fact that we respected them too much in the first half. Once the midfield five moved higher up the field, we carved them open. Sorry for doubting you Fergie.

  285. daelm says:

    @costas

    yes, he probably shouldn’t have. but fuckit, it was bellamy. hard to resist.

  286. bchilds says:

    Costas

    Yea me too, straight after Wazza’s miss I knew he would make amends!

  287. Che Guevarist says:

    Great second half performance. Somehow all our midfield players started to make the numbers up front and Evra was essentially a winger the whole half. I screamed so much when Rooney scored I got my girlfriend scared :P

  288. Costas says:

    @daelm

    Tell me about it. That cunt was so provocative. But still. That’s what separates us from them. Besides, Rooney’s goal hurt them a lot more than any coin ever would.

  289. dv-ant says:

    i think fletcher was man-of-the-match
    the way he nearly nutted richards and then scrapped for the ball in their area to lay it on for carrick to score the second – and if it wasnt for that relex save from given he would have scored the winner – dont take shit from no one and showed em whos boss – very captain like – very keane like
    well done fletcher

  290. fooart9 says:

    im in love with Wayne “Cantona” Rooney….
    im in love with Nani…he fucking genius today….
    4-5-1 doesnt work…??!!!! alex must be tired saying to all those doubters i told u so!

    Rooney Celebration…Celebration Of the Season!!!

  291. bchilds says:

    Are you watching Garry Cook!

  292. Fze123 says:

    Just a question..Which was better, the manchester derby in September or tonight’s game?

  293. Costas says:

    @bchilds

    Lol, they would beat us “yet again” hey?

  294. Corea says:

    First two of our goals. First – great ball from Rooney to Giggs, second one – great ball from Nani to Fletch. Did you see Fergie’s reaction when Carrick missed the goal scoring opportunity ? He wasn’t sure his plan will eventually prevail.

  295. fooart9 says:

    one more thing Fletcher is world class midfielder…fucking love that guy

  296. cantona7 says:

    a good second half performance. I agree with Costas, we showed too much respect to them in the first half. We could have easily controlled the game.

    I thought the MOM was Paul Scholes. The only blemish he had in this game was that stupid tackle that earned him the yellow card. But his control of the game was masterful and majestic.

  297. bchilds says:

    Fze123

    For me, the league game but tonight was special!

  298. Macheda IS GOD says:

    BACK FROM THE GAME
    AND I SANG THIS ALL THE WAY HOME
    35 YEARS FUCK ALLLLLLLLLLLLLL

  299. berbatunday says:

    hmmn league manutd 4-3 citeh (last sec winner!)
    league cup manutd 4-3 citeh (last min winner!)
    this is how it feels to be small
    this is how it feels to be citeh!
    and why wasnt bellendamy carded while nani was (for nothing)

  300. manu4life says:

    if we play like our second half specially from our midfiled i think we can win at arsenal. excellent display in midfield; flecher-fire, schoals and carric in creating space and beautiful passes.

  301. Macheda IS GOD says:

    HAHAHAHA
    TEVEZ IS A FUCKING TWAT

  302. Costas says:

    Definitely the League game, but this was once also got me jumping up and down the bed!

    And in case anyone is wondering, Fergie didn’t put Antonio on with extra time in mind. He put him on to gain 30 extra seconds from injury time. Like he did with Carrick in September. ;)

  303. five says:

    Carrick bombed forward a lot more then usual today. It worked

  304. DEVILisRED says:

    overjoyed with é result i must say. it’s bloody 6am here, dont think i’ll be able to sleep a wink before going to work.
    much improve 2nd half performance from ê lads. completely dominated shitty. rooney miss was pretty shocking, but luckily he saved é best for last. i agreed with fellow manc i will not be so happy even if we lift é cup vs villa in è final. no controversy watever to today’s win. we fucking outplay them. that will shut é noisy neigbour for a while!

  305. Williamkulha says:

    Rooney you fucking beauty!

  306. Xyth says:

    Immense, second half. It should have rally been 6:1!!!!

    I do not care if we win this cup. The fact that we denied Shity a Wembley appearance and showed everybody else what they really are – just an ordinary shit is enough for me.

  307. fooart9 says:

    cuntevez went on and hug his former team mate…did he hug neville…??
    did neville gave him a kick up the arse??

  308. cantona7 says:

    The difference was the composure we had even after they scored. We were very calm and objective. SAF really is a monster.

  309. White Pele says:

    the 4-5-1 proves once again why Fergie is managing United and we’re not, really just have to trust in SAF, Rooney just gets better and better, every time he makes a mistake this year, such as the Hull game, instead of losing his temper, he scores a goal, this season is the maturation of Wayne Rooney, and I’m more than happy to see it…..4-3 mate

  310. Red Jez says:

    Dont cry for me Argentinaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
    The future is shiiiiiiiiiiit for shitty

  311. Fze123 says:

    I also thought this formation would get us nowhere, but the midfield was superb today. I was proved wrong, Fergie got it spot on today. Carrick and Fletcher in the second half were amazing, so were Giggs and Nani. Scholes was just Scholes. Scoring goals that really matter. What a legend.

    Our defence did quite well today, hopefully this stability will remain. I really hope Rooney keeps up his form against Arsenal. He will need to be on fire in that game.

    Great win for us today. Take that you bitter bastards. Especially you Given, celebrating every save you fucking make. Who’s laughing now?

  312. Corea says:

    Remember we still have a league game to play awya to City. Very interesting.
    I am not getting too carried away and just hope this will give us a boost in the quest for glory.

  313. denton davey says:

    I’m in Mexico and the game was unavailable – except on PayPerView which I don’t have – so it was a long walk on the beach and then nail-biting as I kept track of events with the GuardianOnline minute-by-minute commentary.

    That’s why they call it FergyTime ! “4-3, mate”.

  314. Macedonia_United says:

    Does anyone knows the reserves score please let me know

  315. Che Guevarist says:

    Although I am not a fan of 4-5-1, which I don’t believe is United’s natural system and which in my opinion should never be used at OT, gotta say well done Fergie. Dunno what was said at half time but it sure worked.

    @Fez123
    The September derby was packed with goals, from start to end and at the end I really thought we had blown it.
    Today, even though Rooney’s goal was in injury time we knew that even if we didn’t score then we would have 30 more min to do so. So the September one might edge it, but only by a slight margin(I must say I wanted us to win today even more than in September, I don’t want our 34 years banner taken down.)

  316. Sketch says:

    What a great day this turned out to be. We completely outclass City at home and Arsenal drop points to Villa. I kinda feel pathetic now though, after celebrating so loudly. I mean, sure its City. But this is the Semi-final of the fucking CARLING CUP. LOL.
    Motm? Toss up?
    Great second half. And now we have Valenica and hopefully Berba both fresh for the Arsenal game on Sunday.
    I just hope that Fergie NEVER plays 4-5-1 except in Champions league away fixtures.
    Whos ganna play in defense on sunday though? Is Vida fit to play?

  317. Costas says:

    In the end what did Tevez’s 3 goals achieve? Fuck all.

    Not to mention that quite a few of our lads were fired up today. Rio and Fletch in particular…

  318. bchilds says:

    Sir Alex “You have to pay tribute to the support tonight, they were unbelievable”.

    He’s spot on there, it’s always nice when the manager appreciates us, the fans.

  319. Corea says:

    Fergie knew it is just a Carling Cup and indeed saved Berba and Valencia for the Arsenal game. What a genius.

  320. cantona7 says:

    @denton davey i understand how you felt mate.. you become restless and anxious because you couldnt watch the game.. I felt that many times, especially when it’s an early morning game like today (6am here), and when you thought you could watch the game, there’s actually no live telecast!

    but in the end, it is wonderful.

  321. Dave Mack says:

    What more can you say ……….IN FERGIE WE TRUST!!!

    LU – IFIT.

  322. Fze123 says:

    @ bchilds, I would say the league derby was better in terms of entertainment and euphoria. Owen’s winner was scored in the final seconds, truly unexpected goal, which is what made it so special. But today’s victory is still sweet as we have crushed their hope of winning the the only trophy they were capable of winning. Don’t think think they’ll get too far in the FA cup. Bring on the gooners!

  323. Costas says:

    @denton davey

    On a beach in Mexico? So lucky! I can’t feel my toes over here!

  324. Trevor says:

    Lads,

    I Would like to express my thanks to 2 special players. Who tonight expressed why the 2 of them are legends and even today there are not players like them available on the market. Saying that there are not even players on the planet who i could compare to these 2 at 20 – 28 years of age

    Giggs and scholes were absolutly fantastic

    Scholes – He controled the game, his passing was phenominal. Who wrote him off?…………… Please Please Please next time he plays and there is an overall pool team performance. Dont say he is done for! He gets singled out too often which is unfair!……… He has alot to offer our club, Even next year or the year after!…… Passing 10 out of 10

    Giggs……….. All i can say is master class, just behind scholes in todays match for me!!!

  325. Bebeto says:

    I still detest this 4-5-1 formation.

    You’re talking about Wayne Rooney, a striker who’s scoring for fun, being isolated. When that happens, he drops deep, we lack an outlet, etc.

    We could have started with a second striker from the off. I know it seems ridiculous to be revisiting this following three goals, but I still feel vindicated by how many poor performances we’ve had at home this season, and also with how we were left to chase the game in the first leg.

    Anyway, I realise this could provoke a “Fergie knows best” debate that I have no chance of winning, so back to matters at hand…

    For all of those bitters who would have been posting here in the event of a massive win, but are not restricted to the possibility of 34 years, fuck off, you bitter cunts.

  326. ScousersSuck says:

    I think Rio and Jonny Evans were immense at the back today. Some might blame Rio for the Tevez goal, but I doubt he could have done any more. I thought he made a couple of fantastic tackles, and added maturity to the back line. I thought young Evans was also fantastic. Barely put a foot wrong all game. His composure really belies his age.
    Superb second half by the lads.

  327. cantona7 says:

    @Corea that is why i said SAF is a monster! he knew this is a semi-final, but it’s just a Carling Cup semi final. He remained calm with his tactics, even though the tension is rocketing thru the space! At the end of the day, he preserved Berbatov and Valencia for the league. But i hoped he brought Owen on, which he didnt.

  328. Fze123 says:

    @ Che Guevarist – also the fact that we beat their unbeaten run in the league derby made the victory just so much more significant. But it was just so fun watching the City fans faces after the game today. Talk about Gutted! Where are all of the bittermen who camped on this blog a few days ago, I would love to hear what they’ve got to say.

  329. rooney the new king says:

    Costas – that was a relief if tevez 3 goals would have seen united knocked out imagine the media they would have gone into overdrive, but that tevez has a knack like solkjaer has done of being there at the right place at the right time, but like someone said TEVEZ should celebrate at the end of the 2nd leg not the first leg WHAT AN IDIOT. nani seems to be getting better and what position was he playing again RW. I thought when brown came on united looked worse at RB. and cook has done a kenyon

  330. Trevor says:

    @Bebeto

    Questioning the 4-5-1 formation?

    I agree we could have started with a 4-4-2 formation, Manchester City could have over run us in center midfield which most of our attacking play came from (although our attacking play was the flanks! It was switched constantly by scholes, woldnt have any time on the ball against 3!!!)

    We also could have lost the game to a city break away!

    Hats off to fergie!

    I appreciate and everyone should, the modern game is about tactics! 4-5-1 is part of united and has been for many many years!

    In fergie we trust!

  331. Corea says:

    @ cantona7

    Just a Carling Cup has become a must-win semifinal and he needed to minimize the risk but it paid off.

  332. cantona7 says:

    @ScousersSuck yeah we can blame Rio for that goal, but i thought the main fault was our RB (Wes Brown who just came on). But actually, Rio saved us so many times today, that he could actually claim the MOTM award in my opinion! Rio is so f*cking immense!

  333. rooney the new king says:

    Bebeto – 433 works well when you have fluid forwards like ronaldo rooney torres aguero tevez villa, the problem is we dont have the players but dont down the system it has worked wonders for us between aug 2007 to may 2009.

  334. Mahesh says:

    great result, extremely happy! on to sunday now when I think our title chances will well and truly be decided. If we lose sunday its going to be a tough hill to climb. I’m already nervous. Its going to be immense!

  335. cantona7 says:

    @Corea haha yeah you know what, i think SAF had actually timed the goals to perfection!

  336. Fze123 says:

    Agree with Trevor. Giggs and Scholes were one of the best performers tonight and deserve lots of credit. Scholes was magnificent, top notch passes, scored at the right time where we desperately needed a goal to fire up our confidence. I sincerely hope he will remain for another season.

  337. Trevor says:

    evans tonight V Vidic?

    Look, i have been saying this for a while!…. If you had to rate every player out of 100. Vidic = 96 Evans = 90.

    taking evans performances, And his performance tonight. If vidic was playing in his position tonight how much better would he have been?

    Worth 30 Million worth?………….. If vidic gets sold this summer we have a natural replacement. Not that i want him sold! but by christ

    30 Million would buy us the most up and coming right back in the world!

    Imagine evra on the left, and an evra twin on the right!…….. All for the difference of having evans instead of vidic!……. Id take that little difference!

    Please note…. Right bak used as an example!…….. 30 Mil winger or centreal midfielder can be used as well! I guess you know what im meaning!

  338. Bebeto says:

    Fair points, Trevor. It’s just that I’m not a fan of Carrick and Scholes starting together, which, given the options, is what our 4-5-1 can expect to be comprised of, ergo I’m not a fan.

    rooney the new king, I didn’t say about about 4-3-3.

  339. Corea says:

    @ Mahesh – Chelsea’ve won 3-0. 1 point ahead with a game in hand against Burnley away :(
    I would go for a win at the Emirates. We need a WIN!

  340. Costas says:

    @rooney the new king

    The problem for Wes that they scored as soon as he came on. After that, he didn’t have to do much. But overall, I think both he and Rafa handled Bellamy well.

  341. Corea says:

    Oh no. Finally we are a club who have to sell in order to live. I am going to kill myself against the wall tomorrow.

  342. Costas says:

    @Corea

    Hopefully Burnley will remember their good form on their own gound and do us a favor. Not that I am holding my breath…

  343. Bebeto says:

    We can also expect to be in trouble for those throwing things at Bellamy. One of the coins twatted him straight on the back of his head.

    I’d condemn them if I was being humble in defeat. Since that isn’t the case, I’ll point out that he was being a yappy little twat all night long. If that’s what it takes…

  344. Trevor says:

    @Bebeto

    I am a fan of scholes, but i feel that carrick is often dissapointing!

    I appreciate he scored tonight, and i have given him plenty of time. He never was a keane replacement and never looked on him in that respect!

    He is an inbetween comparing scholes and carrick, He doesnt have the passing of scholes or the taclkeing of keane and has the presence of neither!. For me when i look at alternative teams i look on the following as better alternatives in the same position that are obtainable & could be obtaained quite easily … James Milner, Jamain Jenus (supprise supprise! i know! hahaha)

    Jermain Jenus?…….. I thought i would shock you all, but i still rate him higher than carrick!

  345. hurr says:

    Why is that cunt Bellendmy so immune to bookings though? That twattish kick on Evans should’ve at least be a yellow. Just because someone threw a coin at him doesn’t mean he should be let off.

  346. manu4life says:

    The arsenal manager just said his team will win on sunday. well no surprise the opponent manger to say that but when he look at our performance tonight he should be worried. i think we can go on win it on sunday.

  347. Trevor says:

    With regards to bellamy,

    I really detest any incidents like that…………. How a real fan can come into our ground and throw things at players!…….I know tempers run high but these are not proper supporters in my eyes!

    These same thugs are the thugs who start fights with inocent opposition supporters…….. I dont want that at my club!

    I could have a ticket every week instead of these pricks!…… I could be there and representing my club as a true supporter should be!

    If i was at a match and seen someone throwing something id give him a fucking earful!

  348. Corea says:

    @ Costas – no chance, buddy. :)
    Goodnight guys.

  349. Mahesh says:

    I think we will be trouble about the stuff thrown at Bellamy. I also think Rio is now a certain suspension – that whack on Tevez in the first half might have been unintentional, but regardless I think that has just sealed the deal, not that it wasn’t already.

  350. rooney the new king says:

    Bebeto – 433 is basically 451 they are the same formation basically

    Trevor – carrick is miles better than jenas, yes carrick is not allpump and agression but he does his job well.

  351. Trevor says:

    @hurr

    With regards to Bellamy booking. It was the only decision that webb got wrong tonight!

    Scholes tacle… Poor rash attempt for the ball. Typical scholes tackle bordering on a red… a yellow given!

    bellamy… In the corner 2 meters from the ball i will just kick the defender on the leg intentionaly!……….. For me a yellow bordering on a red as no attempt was made to play the ball………. Nothing given1

    The fa go on about respect! But………… Let me ask you something i have asked myself!…………. Would you respect refs more if after the game they had to have an interview as well and were showing some of the highlights!

    What would you think of webb if he turned round and said,…. Bellamy should have been given a yellow without doubt.. I didnt think he caught him as much as he did……… scholes still a yellow but very very close to a red after seeing that……….. If ther was a free kick given which wasnt a free kick and a goal was produced from it, looking from this angle it was not a free kick………. I got it wrong but from the position i seen it from and at that time i thought it was a free kick……………. for me this would equal RESPECT!

  352. Costas says:

    @Corea

    Always believe, lol. Goodnight.

  353. Trevor says:

    @rooney the new king

    with regards to carrick i dont know what it is.. but he really frustrates me every time he plays!

  354. Ulster Red says:

    fucking estatic..in that moment that rooney scored, you can never reach that level of pure joy, it cant be beaten them moments in any walk of life…4-3 again – love it
    bellemy is a disgusting human being, he is all mouth at people all the time because he know noubt will happen, well craig this might be a wake up call for you, did no one see him mouth at rio – “your past it” “your fucking shit” i hate that bastard more than any player at the minute..well he is at the right club as the munichs chant was doing the rounds again, they are proper scum and they love being it which is fucking crazy…

    que sera sera we beat city 4-3! and we are going to wembley! que sera sera!!
    bring on the gooners.

  355. rooney the new king says:

    rooney hada little hit out at a shitty player, I wonder if the FA will investigate that. cook done a kenyon LOL.

  356. Bebeto says:

    rooney the new king, I was venting over 4-5-1. Reassure me that they’re the same thing when I’m pleading for Fergie to play a 4-3-3, which I wasn’t.

  357. Bebeto says:

    Trevor, is it his Gary Neville-esque ‘tache?

  358. Welbz19 says:

    The city is red the city is red fuck off back to Stockport the city is red!
    Just back home from Old Trafford slightly exhausted but absolutly buzzing what a night!

  359. Drew Vader says:

    Trevor — Just to respond to your question of my post… I know its from a while ago now! But I just though, in the first half Nani worked his ass off, and he continued that into the second half as well. He was tracking back and helping out on defense as well as going forward with real intent. And he did well at keeping possession.

  360. Drew Vader says:

    Just some random thoughts —

    What a cunt that Zabelleta or whatever the fuck is. Wayne’s hand barely fucking touches him and he goes down like it was a Tyson right cross. And he did some other shit in the second half too, I think it was from a challenge with Nani. Pussy

    Rafael was class. What a player that young lad is.

    Giggs is a robot. He is going up against an athletic freak in Richards, and the old man more than holds his own. Its amazing

    Fletch ran himself into the ground as we are growing accustomed to.

    What a save from Given on Fletch’s header. Holy shit, how on earth did he keep that out?

    Evra got beat a few times defensively, but he was his usual brilliant self once again. I think he is a very very close second in our Player of the Year so far. Its a shame strikers get all the glory…

    Speaking of which, Wayne Rooney you beauty. Keep it up lad. Get the winner against Arse now!!!!!!

  361. dv-ant says:

    @trevor
    no thanks to jermain jenas
    but i wouldnt say no to luka modric
    thinks hes a skillful player that we could do with

  362. LL13 says:

    SPECIAL !!!

  363. Dave Mack says:

    Fantastic support tonight!! As you may know from other posts … I’m against the Glazer protests and had a moan on Saturday about the fans showing more hate for the owners than love for united.

    Not tonight …….everyone was going mental and stayed totally behind the team whether they were wearing green and gold or red black and white!!!

    I’m sure Fergie’s going to comment on it. Proud to be UNITED!!!

  364. Ulster Red says:

    dave i agree with you on that subject, fergie said when the fans are like that we never let them down

  365. Drew Vader says:

    Trevor — I think if you took a poll of Spurs supporters and asked them which one they would prefer to have, Carrick or Jenas, I honestly think it would be close to 98% in favor of Carrick.

    But, I am not saying we need center mid reinforcements at all or NEED new signings, but we could do worse than to snatch James Milner from Villa…

  366. Ulster Red says:

    CARRICK > JENAS
    holy fuck

  367. GoatinaUnitedShirtFuckOffBellamy says:

    Fuckin chuffed with the match, just like everyone else out there prior to Carrick laying a beautiful weighted back pass to Scholsey, thought he should have come off. Couldnt pass for toffee and had his shoulders down abit like Berbatov struts about, then up he pops assist and goal. Ill forgive him his miss even though one of my piles could of dropped off rattled down my trouser leg, caught a plane and taxi to OT, jumped the barricades run into the penalty area and had time to weigh up what to do with it before side plopping it into the net better than his effort, fekkin retard. I will also admit that even though I dont like fans throwing stuff, it was Bellamy. Tevez is a cunt but thats all he is and wouldnt deserve that treatment but Bellamy is a complete other story, hes not a footballer hes a cheating slimmy mouthy prick who hits people with their hands held behind their back and would never dream of taking his shitty mouthy attitude with him out on to the streets of Manchester. He only does what he does behind the protection of a referee, coward. I admit when I saw him take the corner i shouted bottle him (i had no idea you could take bottles into matches so it was more a fantasy than a wish),and it happened and i admit, had we of gone out tonight i would have said to myself atleast that cunt got a bottle.

  368. rooney the new king says:

    Dave Mack – you have any idea how stupid you sound you are against the glazer protests tell me when are the fans allowed to protest because I am delighted the fans are showing their true colors protesting against these freeloaders, I myself had a dream last night that I beat the shit out of the old bastard and his family.

  369. Trevor says:

    @Bebeto

    What do you mean with regards to gary nev?

  370. azeim29 says:

    love how rio,evans and another player play monkey with tevez..the headless chicken just show that he is..well headless..haha

  371. Trevor says:

    @Drew Vader

    I would agree more with the second half, few times in the first half he tried to be to fancy. He tried at one point to take on 3 players who was surounding him!……….

    He also played hospital balls to rafa a couple of times.

    This improves with experience and at times he could learn from valencia who keeps it simple!

    Im a fan of nani as i can see his potential but i do feel he has some learnign to do!.

  372. Costas says:

    I can’t believe some of the saves that Given makes against us. He pulled a billiant one off just before Rooney’s goal. We talk a lot about Valencia’s crossing, but when Giggsy whips them in like that, you know the result will be a goal.

  373. Trevor says:

    @dv-ant

    Yeah modric is special…Although might prove a bit too light forus!

    But a big step up than carrick!

    I have never been a fan of carrick……….. Have always given him time and now starting to express my opinion!

  374. Trevor says:

    Jenas is a tidy player on his day………….I gaurentee you if you Swapped the players we wouldnt notice much difference!

    My example has worked!……….. It is how poorly i rate carrick and may be a bit harsh but for me scholes constantly out performs him and scholes is supposed to be past it 30 something close to retirement!

    Thats the point im trying to make!

  375. jellybean says:

    hahaha, that’s wazza saying “fuck you, you ugly argie cunt”. i KNEW we’d score in injury time…the never lose attitude is what i’ve come to expect from utd. even if we’re a goal down or 2 and the 90 mins are almost up, i never give up hope that we’ll turn up with a bit of magic. whether it’s solsjkaer, o’shea, owen or macheda or rooney!!!!!
    bellamy and tevez are both complete twats, but the whole bottle throwing incident at bellamy was just stupid and unnecessary. does anyone know if the arsenal fans got in trouble for throwing the cellphone at lampard?
    as for carrick, he was completely non existent for most of the game. i forgot he was even playing. was a good goal, but that was all fletch. shame he didn’t score himself, brilliant save from given! hope fletch plays against arsenal and shows the schoolboys a thing or two.
    you know, before the season, a lot of people were saying rooney needs to step up, including fans i know, who were/still are disgruntled about selling ronaldo. fergie, the ever wise one said, “all wayne needs to do, is be himself”. much as i love berba and owen, just imagine the havoc wazza would wreak with a great strike partner like ruud, or ole etc.

  376. Bebeto says:

    Just so you know, the reaction to Rooney’s late winner begins on page 34. That means there’s six more pages of them ruing how ‘lucky’ a side we are.

    Life’s good :)

  377. Trevor says:

    @Costas & Everyone.

    Do we under appreciate Giggs & Scholes … Even at their current age?

    I think honestly we have been completly spoilt with 2 of the worlds legends in their respective positions.

    Hence why Carrick Frustrates me, Nani gets critisism> Valencia gets underated at times when he has played alright!..

    We have been used to 8 or 7 out ot 10 performances each week from these 2…… a 6 out of 10 wich supposidly is classed as an average performance… an ok performance…… is no longer appreciated or acceptable!

  379. dv-ant says:

    still rmbr those 2 cracking goals carrick scored when we thumped roma 7-1
    why cant he fukin do that more often
    1st half today i forogt he was even playin – it was all about scholes
    i think modric wud be a good buy
    if we sell vidic for 30mill we shud offer anderson or carrick + cash for modric
    wud luv to see him playin for us

  380. five says:

    I understand your frustration about Carrick but to suggest JENAS instead if just really really strange. I watch Spurs as much as I can because my sister supports them and hes so poor

    He had a lot of potential at one time and was rejuvenated under Ramos but hes just very average. If you think Carrick is frustrating then Jenas would make you hang yourself!

    Delighted with the win. Fergie has a dillema in his hands Nani or Valencia against the arse?

  381. manu4life says:

    am surprised comments from you about carric. if he performs like today no one can take his place in the team. apart from his goal he was a joy to watch. his passing, creating space and going in to city box i thought i was watching two schoals. the three of them schoals, carric and flecher were fantastic. i look forward to see them on sunday. arsenal’s strength is in midfiled so our midfielders need to play like that.

  382. rooney the new king says:

    Trevor – there would be a huge difference in CM if you had jenas in there instead of carrick, carrick does a tidy DM job and he keeps the ball moving while jenas is all over the place, he lacks discipline and quiet frankly his tackling his shocking and he would be out of his depth. carrick to be fair can really nick the ball and has been a huge part of uniteds hatick of titles, you can see the difference when fletcher and carrick are together united have a balance in the middle.

  383. Costas says:

    @trevor

    We are at the stage where we should just cherish every time they play for us. I have seen Giggs have better games, but it was amazing how he got better as the game progressed. As far as Scholesy goes, well, if we save him for the Milan games and utilise him like that, we will have good chance. He was such a calm force today.

  384. dv-ant says:

    highlights on MOTD now if anyone wants to watch it again

  385. Tony Starks says:

    Wow people… how impressive did we look with the midfielders getting forward in the second half.. if we can maintain that kind of play we will be immense! If we play like that on Sunday Arsenal will be in for a hell of a game.. If only Scholes could play like that every game

  386. Trevor says:

    @manu4lifemanu4life

    Im sorry i just didnt see that in carricks performance today… and has been a really long time since i have seen a performance where i sat up ant took notice!

    Might be i just have tinted glasses on where he is concerned!.. I dont know!

  387. Trevor says:

    @five

    I havent seen much of carrick this season if i am truly honest, but remember the style of player he was last season.

    Looked to have a better engine than carrick and better eye for goal.

    To clarify i wasnt suggesting tha the club sign jenus as a replacement to carrick. Was highlighting the fact at how low i rate carrick. I honestly feel if you put jenus in the team with scholes instead of carrick we wouldnt notice too much of a difference!……… I might be wrong!

    Well lads..Im calling it a night!

    Come on the reds!…….

  388. dv-ant says:

    didnt realise chris smalling was at OT tonight
    just shown him on MOTD signing autographs

  389. Trevor says:

    @Costas

    sorry was just about to pop off ta bed!!

    How much do you think england have missed paul scholes!

    Could you imagine him still in the england team! Dont compare him to Lampard and gerrard as i think they all have different styles!

    Scholes offers more than both in that role……… Its what england has cryed out for! Someone to rule midfield and control the tempo and play!

    It says alot for scholes for Keane to admit Scholes was the best player he played with, Viera to state Scholes was one of the best he played against, Keane to state scholes was the best player he played with and highlighted in training he always wanted to be in pauls team if you were in pauls team you always won, Zidane to state Scholes was very very clever and a step ahead & for every england manager since he retired to beg him to come out of retirement!…………….. All i can say shame on the english press who forced him into retirement slagging him off and crying for him to be dropped! shame on you!!

  390. jellybean says:

    @ five- what a good dilemma to have as well! i’m awfully proud of nani for grabbing his chance to play RW with both hands. he tracked back loads today, hasn’t been taking stupid selfish shots for a while, made some good runs, generally impressed when finally given a chance. a couple of his corners/crosses were a bit misplaced today, which surprised me a little actually…because against burnley every single one of his crosses looked deadly, but he did a fine job. am pretty certain valencia is going to start and that is why he was rested today, but still well impressed with him!
    rafael is another player who put in a good shift, esp after coming into criticism for his inexperience when we played at wastelands. fergie is simply the smartest man ever, and given the chances, both the twins are simply going to grow in confidence and get even better. i feel bad for fabio tho, competing for a spot with against the best left back in the world can’t be that much fun :P
    another man who deserves a special mention is of course edwin. back from injury and then tending to a sick wife, yet he is the coolest, most composed player under pressure with killer reflexes.
    as for giggs and scholes, there are no words to describe them. they’ve been there from even before i started watching united (12 yrs ago) and i honestly cannot imagine Utd without giggsy, scholes or even nev. scholesy’s as bad a tackler as ever, but who cares when he’s spraying around passes like he’s 20 or kicking the sweetest shots into the back of the net. i know it’s only the carling cup, and we have a bit of the way to go before we win 4 on the trot, but as long as fergie’s there…no russian rubles or arab oil money can take our trophies away, or keep them for long.
    is it greedy if i also want the champions league?

  391. Costas says:

    @trevor

    All I can say, is that so many people can’t be wrong. Of course Lou Macari praises the hell out of Scholes, but that doesn’t mean a lot to me. He is one of the most respected players in the world. England could have done a lot with him, and Capello probably would habe liked him in his side, but Scholes made the right move back then. He gave the floor to the likes of Gerrard and Lampard and we saw how far they could take England. And we got the best of him!

    2 years ago, I was moaning everytime Scholes started ahead of Anderson. On this day, their paths couldn’t be anymore different. One produced a masterclass at the age of 35 and the other…

    Highlight of the game. Fletch out muscling Richards twice then squaring up just about to knock him the fuck out. Man of the match yet again. Just look at his and Waynes interview, best 2 players in world football. Fletcher is world class, not my words, Wayne Rooney’s.

    Rio class.

    Fuckin love it when Wazza does a cartwheel then punches the flag.

    This city is ours. This country is ours. The world is ours. We are United.

  394. Tony Starks says:

    The International retirement was the best thing to happen for Scholes United career…

    I just want to say Rio – how solid the defence looks with him in the side – why o why did you mess up on Saturday!

    But the kid Rafael just gets better and better, what a player he’s on course to become…

    Roll on 34 years…

    Gotta say how wrong I was about Scholes, who showed he’s still got it at the highest level. What a joy to see his passing, and to see him skipping away so neatly from onrushing opponents. His performance at Fulham was rock bottom (as it was last season), but this was brilliant. So was Nani, who’s suddenly living up to his promise. Mature from Rafael too, who’s learning and growing up fast. The future is Red!

    Added time? That’ll do nicely!

    U.N.I.T.E.D. !!! Old Trafford was fucking rocking tonight. Blinding night. Another masterclass from the Ginger Prince. Fucking Barry ain’t in the same league. Nobody is actually. Trev pal have you lost your fucking mind? Jermaine Jenas is the softest shittest bottless player around. Fucking shite.

    Rooney steals the headlines again. Another decent game from Nani. Rio was excellent. Good night I shall report further in the morning.

    Fucking get in!!!!

  408. rooney the new king says:

    King Eric – and yu got to ask yourself where was nani playing RW, I brought that point up there is a big difference between carrick and jenas.

  409. King Eric says:

    rtnk – Just one other thing before I get my head down. I have read a couple of reports and they are saying that City are getting closer to United? Bollocks. They could not live with us second half and it should have been 5-1.

  410. rooney the new king says:

    King Eric – have they I am not suprised lineker with his obsession he keeps bringing it up the gap is closing LOL, shitty will need a better all round team and manager. you know me King Eric I propably am the biggest hatred of the mediam on this site, the radio showed some awful music which summes up the media in all forms which pissed me off.

    like I say ferguson is the last of the dying bread of dynasty makers its very naive of the media to think chelsea will do this and that with mourinho when he was never gonna stay, and shitty I have never seen a club toot their own horn when they have done nowt. the days of teams winning title after title for decades to come is over when club structures of shitty and chelsea dont allow that. here is a vid of cook doing a peter kenyon there is no misquotes he says shitty will be the biggest.

    I have no more words to say about Wayne Rooney .
    And I think Nani is about to Darren Fletcher me

    i must say his attitude seems to have improved dramtically.
    viva nani!! remember the arsenal cup game not seen any sort of performance since then from him, but was probably my motm.
