Man Utd News 24/7

What a line up!
I’m pretty sure thats all anyone will expect to know for the lineups tonight
mouthwatering
Haha 11 invisible men!! Happy days lol
Sexual chocolate!
Ha ha, just RVP is enough to beat Everton
MUFC; De Gea, Valencia, Vidic, Carrick, Evra, Scholes, Cleverley, Nani, Kagawa, Welbeck, Rooney. (via: @ianirv).
That’s a mental line-up. Love it.
One player on the bench – that’s confidence!
So a 4-3-3 then
Nice to see an experienced back four, can’t wait, it’s been a long summer!
Anyone enjoy QPR and the Scousers getting absolutely HAMMERED as much as I did? Hahaha. Fucking CUNTS.
What goes around comes around. QPR got theirs and it’s Everton’s turn tonight.
Loving the set up…really promising, hope he doesn’t revert back to 442 it’s dated and we need to move on 4321 is perfect for the players we have.
4-0
We gonna send a serious message across Manchester this evening.
Getttt innnnnnn!!!
Subs: Lindegaard, Rafael, Anderson, Berbatov, Young, Van Persie, Wootton
Is Chicharito injured or anything?
Hope TonyV does his usual class performance from RB. Impressive last time. Just hope for no injuries. Especially Carrick and Cleverley.
Get in You REDS….. So excited. 99 days and it is all down to this. Cricky hope we do Everton.
Pay back is a b*tch!
Berbatov over Hernandez?
Loving the set up…really promising, hope he doesn’t revert back to 442 it’s dated and we need to move on 4321 is perfect for the players we have.
4-0
We gonna send a serious message across Manchester this evening.
LOVE THE United subs: Lindegaard Rafael Anderson Berbatov Young van Persie Wootton
Berbatov to score! Yah baby!
I expected van persie to be on the bench, but hopefully he’ll have his debut sometime today!
Good line-up, however, the defense is shocking! It’s just like last season when we ran out of defenders and started using Valencia and carrick in defense :@
So we need to not give them the ball not givem any set pieces and get vidic to mark 6 players.. Should be a walk in the park
Seriously though.. Goodmlineup, hope we win win this.. 2-1
Maybe Berba made the bench because we need an experienced defender there…
Costas – Berbatov on the bench as an auxiliary centre back.
If I was a toffee I would think fuck!.
LOL there you go.
where is CHICHARITO?
UTD UTD UTD.
OH MANCHESTER IS WONDERFULL. OH MANCHESTER IS WONDERFULL. ITS FULL OF TITS FANNY AND UTD. OH MANCHESTER IS WONDERFULL.
lets get it started….
Great and energetic starting 11, there’s no stopping us with this line up
Happy days indeed!
Costas – I am still shocked we never bought a top class CB, in preparation for rio’s departure
awful line up, that back 4 is gonna be destroyed. we are practically playing 4-5-1 so i expect to a close, kind of boring match but hopefully we can win it
Outscore the cunts!
Come on United!
If I was a toffee I would eat myself! :
No Chico on bench..Surprised, especially given his ability to score away goals..Is he injured?
Proverb – I would wait and see how the united spine of DDG carrick vidic cleverly and scholes handle things today, because that aint a safe pair of hands defensively, it is a very concerning lineup, for me I would not mind a draw tonight with that defense
Well its 4-3-3 formation just like the Hannover Game..Kagawa will sitt little bit behind Rooney and Nani and Welbeck will operate on the flanks.the only difference is Hernandez who was the no.9 that gane.now it’s Rooney
Diego-”Berbatov over Hernandez?”. Exactly my thoughts. Is Chico injured??
Anon – maybe those rumours of a loan to Chelsea are true… SQUEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAALLLLL!!!!!!!
I’m really worried about Hibbert. Apparently he scores when he wants.
Dibils
You should be an evertonian aren’t you
Haha care no
You will see goals buddy, goooooals
Watch the space, once we start scoring for fun spoof away from here F
FITB,
the attacking front will take us to victory tonight..
I would not be surprised if we concede couple of goals..
But this team is gonna score more, not just in this game, but the whole season..
We’re wearing the old favourite variant of mine – red shirts, black shorts, white socks.
Gary Neville, you can sit there and play with your silly machines all you want…
The Berba can play CB argument is plausible, but we also have Wootton on the bench whom I’d much rather play there if push comes to shove.
I predict a very difficult game for us.Hopefully the boys will make us proud of them.
Berba as a CB?? You gotta be kidding me. I have never seen Berba tackle in the entire time that I have been following UTD. The only backup CB we have is Wooton.
Come on mates we can’t start the season with a shaky feet,we’ve got experienced back four so i don’t think we should be pissing in our pants already…we’r united ffs…..
FITB – Repeating a post from other thread: “I don’t buy “a lack of strength in depth in certain positions” as it relates to center half. On paper, we are incredibly deep there, with five players that I trust (in contrast to City, who are one Kompany injury away from being totally fucked). There’s a limit to how many United-class players you can convince to cool their heels on our bench/reserves waiting for the perfect storm that has hit us again with 4 of them out (especially when Smalling, Jones and Evans are young). Whether it is through one of the youngsters who got blooded on the world tour, or Carrick, we just have to bite the bullet on this and not assume we can have an infinite supply of good players in each position.”
THE BARCA EFFECT: Sky showing some simply phenomenal statistics that show a huge increase in the amount of passes played in the “EPL” over the past four years, coupled with a marked decrease in the amount of goals scored from crosses. Fascinating.
Esteban. Good post mate. We have been ridiculously unlucky with injuries in the defense.
Utd4Life – Unlucky? Luck has nothing to do with it.
I like the Tony V,Nani combo down the right two work well together
Utd4life – seems like fans are trying to find excuses has reasons for him to stay, berba play CB, some have have had one to many of the boss’s wine LOL
Sandeep1878 – I do not buy that one little bit, a top class defense wins you titles, we saw in the 2001/02 season the cost of not having a top class defense. We came third, because of how poor we were at the back. Look at the success we had in the 2007/08 season, when we had one of the best back 5′s that Ferguson has ever had since 93/94. And I am still skeptical with our midfield, with scholes playing there, when he may be a bit rusty at that age
Fred. Then what do you think is the reason behind our annual injury crisis?? I say that it’s just bad luck and bad timing.
Evening Fred….shows RedNev has a footballing brain….talks sense instead of the usual bollocks…..
Utd4Life – take Ferdinand for example. An injury-prone player getting injured is not bad luck.
Berba has been snubbed right from last season and he was not even mentioned in the Gaffer’s plan for the coming season and yet he is picked ahead of Chico. Maybe I am reading a bit too much into it and I think Chico picked up a niggle or something while warming up.
TonyBee – I agree but he sucks far too much City cock for my tastes.
Utd4Life – could be a farewell appearance for sentiment’s sake.
30 minutes to go lads….shaking with excitement…….
The wait is almost over guys,
I cant wait now and WHAT a line-up that is
I predict 5-4 to us, with van Cedars netting the winner from the bench
Liverpool passed the ball around just fine on Saturday ang got stuffed,it’s ok being a passing team and keeping possession but a team has to be able to do something with the ball,no penetration it’s a overrated stat
I like the look of this team when we are on the ball. And I hope we do a lot of that, because from a defensive standpoint it’s a weak line up. No Carrick in midfield and 2 midfielders in defence.
@Fred
Yeah that’s how I also usually prefer seeing us play. Black shorts and white socks. With a better looking shirt of course…
@FITB
Well he isn’t leaving yet, but I also feel that maybe we could have done with one more. With all these injuries at the back, it’s hard to form a regular partnership. And this inconsistency is costly.
Finally.
30 minutes!!
I’ll go to loo first!
Btw, Berba over Little Pea is interesting choice.
Esteban – I do not think smallen jones and evans are in ferdinand and vidic’s league, doubt they will ever be in that bracket, they will be really good cover for our defense, and they add depth, if they are fit. But long term for now, I do feel we need to find a replacement for ferdinand. Shitty I agree have no depth there without kompany, the same in midfield, without toure. But onto us, maybe next summer, I am hoping the boss makes one more huge signing at CB, just to round off the backline, and give vidic a breather. But its the same with us, if vidic gets injured we are has fucked as shitty at the minute, because ferdinand evans jones and smallen are injured
Fred. Yes Rio is injury prone yet he played the most number of matches he has ever played for the past 2-3 years or so last season. Certain players like Rio, Hargreaves are forever doomed with injuries but players like Smalling, Jones, Evans are not injury prone. I don’t think there is a reasonable explanation for our annual injury fest.
TonyBee – glad to hear you’re as pumped up for this as I am. I was expecting this place to be buzzing with anticipation but there’s not nearly enough BANTER for my tastes. I was about to ask if anyone could recommend any United blogs where the patrons actually get excited about the prospect of seeing us play.
Online streaming,
http://atdhenet.tv/index.html
For me, David Moyes is proof that you don’t need eyebrows to be a top manager.
but you know he will call a mistake in team selection by SAF ,as in the Shitty game last year at theirs,
he just calls in straight….
1000 times better than The Woman bashing dogger and the twat Townsend
Cant believe we have defensive problems again,,,,,,,,,,Carrick CB and Valencia RB……this is going to be difficult
Fergie is the boss. I wouldn’t say we are fucked if Vidic got injured (touchwood) because Evans has really developed into a quality CB and Smalling is a younger Rio who just needs to gain a bit more experience. However, like you said, I hope we do get another world class CB just to shore up the defense.
Jesus christ Carrick at CB and Valencia at RB. I really hope to God that they can hold up tonight against the onslaught. Our front three looks FANTASTIC. Kagawa graces the premier league for the first time. LET’S GO UNITED!!! IT IS TIME!!!!
@Fred
You nailed it on the head at 19:31. We can’t consider ourselves unlucky if Rio misses games at the 11th hour. How many times has it happened in the last 3 years? I won’t go into any rants about the medical team or our training methods because other players rarely get injured. Unfortunately, we are putting our faith on too many injury prone players. Rio isn’t the only one.
Come on Reds,
get in..
off to make my first peg of RUM now..
RUM, late nights, and United – nothing can beat that – victory will be icing on the cake..
Fred,
evening mate,
Vidic is back
###
Just have this feeling, Scholesy to open our goals account for the season…:P
Anyone know any streaming for the match? Please provide a link
Lack of defenders really sucks. We have like 4 CD-s injured. I do have a positive feeling though.
I find it way difficult to write while this excited
Go go united!!!!
Fred – Throw your hands in the air, if you’re a true playa!
I was reminded about something on twitter. Carrick starts his 28th consecutive league game.
FITB – I’m more optimistic, especially about Smalling (who I truly think can be Rio’s class (and style of player)). Long term replacement of Vidic is tougher, but that is a high class problem (i.e. it is hard to replace someone who is truly one of, if not, the world’s best). I still think it is a tricky proposition to slot in someone “between” Vidic and Jones/Evans – it seems a bit like the seemingly dead notion of slotting in Baines between Fabio and Evra.
Tony, there’s no doubt that Nev is a cut above any other pundit out there.
Danny Soya – onslaught? You mean a bunch of scrappers “putting themselves about” and pumping balls up to Jelavic? United will teach them a lesson tonight.
According to Nick Coppack, this is Carricks 28th consecutive league start.
Lad has been immense for us.
My sources tell me Rio was pulling on his todger too hard and over extended himself.
Think I’m right in saying this is Carrick’s 28th consecutive league start? I’ll have to check my stats but I think that’s right.
vip box tv —– got hd streams
LOL fucking hell Willie, that really IS bad luck.
I dont understand why we do not buy a RB that Fergie can trust whoever is CB
In one moment of reflection my life has changed
This is though the one constant that remains as strong as ever
And then with the people that make it real
We stand for something and no matter what we’ll stay that way
For The Babes
For United
19
LOL Fred that’s we thought last time out and they shocked us didn’t they? but Yes I am pretty confident we’ll win tonight.
3 perfect storms in 3 years as far as our defenders are concerned (bar Evra ofc, the terminator)…
FletchTheMan. Yes, the lad has been immense for us. He has overcome the wave of criticism and has come out with flying colors. If he ever got injured then we are well and truly fucked.
Ryan Giggs has vowed to treat Robin Van Persie like his brother, having met his wife earlier today.
15mins……COME ON YOU FUCKING REDS…..
Costas and FTM,
that’s a great stat pals..
but most of them dont bother what Carrick does…but we do..we fucking reds do..:)
Come on Carrick, the unsung hero, its gonna be your season yet again !!
MY GUESS
De Gea, Valencia, Vidic, Carrick, Evra, Scholes, Cleverley, Nani, Kagawa, Welbeck, Rooney.
Fred, I’m going for a 2-1 to United but I wouldn’t underestimate Everton. They battered us at Old Trafford last season, hence why Rafael is on the bench because he got exposed time and time again with his lack of height.
I watched that video of every RvP goal last week. Felt physically sick after watching all that Arsenal shite. Never again!
Esteban – true, but I do feel we need a quality defender to be the alternative to vidic, the backbone of the squad does concern me, as I feel the squad is still lacking that identity spine wise, which is one thing shitty do have over us
TonyBee. LOL.
Good day REDS!
If anyone is got Sopcast here is a super excellent stream.
Joffrey – Rafael is simply being rested after his Olympic exertions imho.
Get in,
Laters ROM!!
United FTW
RE Carrick….. I am so glad Carrick was overlooked for England AND TeamGB. Lads need a rest and Carrick will be the better man (for us) because of it.
Get in United!
Forget the defense. Pummel them with our attack!
Wait till these Bluenose shite get a load of Kagawa. He’ll tear them to shreds. Bastards won’t know what’s hit them.
Off to catch the Game! MNF! Come on da fuck United! See yous folks later….
Enjoy the game Sandeep!!!
SAF: “I’ve left out Chicharito because of the protection I need to give us in case something happens to one of my centre-backs.”
So Berba is really on the bench as a back up defender.
@Sandeep
Yeah mate. He’s crap anyway.
Enjoy the game Willie!!
Rested? Because he played a handful of games he needs resting? Fellaini gave him a torrid time just 4 months ago. They constantly targeted him and it came up trumps for them and Fergie wouldn’t haw forgotten that. He is not simply being rested.
SAF (via Costas) confirms what I posted at 19:15. I know the man so well.
If I heard it correctly, Berba for Chicharito because he needs a player who can play more link up.
Did I hear that right?!
Joffrey – I’m right, you’re wrong. See my last post for proof that I know exactly how Sir Alex’s mind works.
Is berb the back up CF?
Gemma Thompson @gem7thompson
More from SAF: “I’ve left out Chicharito because of the protection I need to give us in case something happens to one of my centre-backs.”
WHOA is chicharito injured? Not even on the bench. That’s really weird.
I’m off to watch the match as well. ENJOY THE GAME ALL TRUE REDS!
I got 9/11 !!
I hope its not a 4-4-2 with kags on the left…Anyway,
COME ON, UNITED!!!
I said it in preseason. Shirts look good under the lights. Not a plad in sight!
GET IN
So Berba is the back up CB after all. LOL. Hopefully he won’t be needed.
Come ON Shinji, COME ON UNITED
where the fuks chico?????????????????????
@Fletch
That’s how I see it mate. If Berba isn’t seen as a backup defender, why isn’t Javier on the bench instead?
What the arsenal player…… Rem oh yes he’s our now
As much as I would love to destroy them, any win will do!!!
come on united………lets do it
Kagawa kagawa kagawa
What is the ear pulling thing from Scholes. Seen it a couple times. Don’t get it ‘atol.
Aw ffs Rafael benched again ridiculous.
could it be bcus he played for mexico last week????
NANI….OVERHYPED FOOL
Vidic the rock
whatever the explanations may be….chicharito will be out of the team by January. The pressure on him back home will force him to request a transfer, unless he is willing to give up on the national team (and he is not). Today’s line up will only make it impossible for him to repeat that he is willing to face competition. He was not even given a chance…..
Tonybee hoooo!!!!
What a load of bollocks Gexmex…..
Toynbee is a cunt always moaning about Nani fuck off u so called united fan
Cleverley ruling the midfield
We have a gem there in cleverley
GO FUCK YOURSELF GAMU …if you don’t have the brain to even understand why I posted Nani was hyped up and to say I am a so called fan …you stupid stupid cunt
Fellani you fuck
Ur always chatting shit about Nani fuck off n watch the game
I( can see us getting a red card
Chicharito forever…dont think fergie will sell this phenomenal kid!!!!
TonyBee…I think you don’t read mexican newspaper or watch mexican tv do you…..They started asking those questions last week…they are going to eat him alive day in day out. But the real problem is the national team. He has to play to be there, if he is left out because he is not not playing, the message will come to him loud and clear.
Rooney very wasteful
He has settled in the game
Nani fuck
gexmex …he signed a contract and wanted to play for us….and he is here playing here not in Mexico… cant see the problem really
gomo …and i am watching the game and no way will i fuck off for no mark cunt like you…twat
He scored vs hannover
Kagawa will be a great signing. Tony V is wasted at RB.
Cum on you reds!!!!!!!!!
Great Save De Gea
Kagawa looks class.
Hans….well said absolutely right….
we are under the rack
Magic save DG
I would not say Valencia is wasted, they are massively overpowering our right hand side. We are beeing overrun, we need to move our feet faster central in the pitch.
De Gea is on fire!
De gea pure class
DeGea TO THE RESCUE AGAIN.
Nani wanted to moan, then realised he has been booked and shuted the hell
See above for DG comment
Class
De gea oooh de dea oooh de gea hooooooo!!!!!!!
Fuck. Save is making some awesome saves. Quality
Typo. Dave not save. Hang in savedave. Could be my new moniker
De Gea been brillliant. That boy Shinji some good touches
Come on rooney
Should have burried that glorious chance
Kagawa class as ever!
Sure our defense looks iffy and we might lose this game, but this team looks emminently watchable. Kagawa looks fantastic. (Ofc it helps to have cleverly back again)
Rooney playing with boots made of lead… Get RVP on, Everton does not fear us at all
easily, De Gea is the star of the half along with Fellaini..
His height causing us all sorts of problems..
This team will click in few days time, sometimes Danny, Kagawa and Rooney are all ending up in the same position…
What we need is Valencia or Berb in MF to get hold of Fellaini..
De Gea – fucking top class saves..
We should have had at least two goals. it is a shame that at times we were overcomplicating things. Whenever we played it nice and simple we seamed to be getting in.
I would bring Rafael at RB and move Valencia up front.
DAVID DE GEA AND SHINJI KAGAWA!!!! We’ve got to play better in the second half. Carrick is obviously not a defender.
DeGea MOM so far. Carrick superb. United can’t keep the ball in MF. Needs sorting.
Not created much but I am really impressed with Kagawa and wee Thomas………And De Gea! Bloody hell
Is it just me or is Nemanja looking especially ripped
Everton have given it back as good as they have got. It’s been a very entertaining match so far. The difference between the two teams has been Fellaini. That big fuck is taking advantage of the makeshift defense. Scholes is have a tough time handling that hairy buffoon. We looked sharp in the midfield but lacked the final ball. Looking forward to the 2nd half and RVP’s arrival.
Wazza struggling a bit…..Nani and Scholes hampered by Yellow cards…. Valencia out of position….Paddy being bullied by Feillani….still…look on the bright-side…..DeGea and Vidic have been magnificent….
No, we aren’t going to lose
We play this way, problem is that we don’t out quickly once we win the ball
Nani, rooney very wasteful
It looks like nani is playing in center mid hence we don’t see much on that right wing, baines is attacking us a will
Oh yeah, DeGea has looked superb. Only wished he didn’t make that many saves. Need to sharpen up and find a way to control that hairy twat.
Fellaini has been a fucking handful again. We seem powerless to stop that long ball up to him. Kagawa has looked impressive, picked out some great passes and is always on the move. De Gea has been superb, not that the co commentator has given him any credit, if that was Hart he would have his tongue up his arse.
Our midfield is lightweight and leaves acres of space for Everton attackers
kagawa 34/35 passes completed
OMG the sky is falling the sky is falling… lol
Always figured this to be a tough 0-1 type win. Possession is good just seeing a hard time opening them up with the final pass. Need to tighten up a bit at the back but overall Carrick doing a job, I would like to see us challenge the ball in the air just a bit better though.
hiya Cedars …bit different than we were all hoping for aint it….fucking toffees making us work for it….
Pretty much expected. We are missing Carrick in midfield and Rio’s leadership at the back. Plus, Rooney is wasted on his own up front. Just like Danny is on the wing. We might want to try Kagawa on the left and Rooney behind Danny.
For me the main worry is something we suffered from last year. As soon as our opponents get the ball we can’t wrestle it from them. Really lacking a CM that will get amongst them.
De Gea man of the match by far.
I think we need to prepare to play with then men. And tell scholes to break that hairy cunt into half,.
The reason why Fellaini has been so fantastic tonight is because he knows that he can EASILY bully and abuse THREE of our four defenders in the air and for a big man he has a fantastic touch on him.
Nani, Rooney and Welbeck need to step it up.
To add to my last post, it tells you a lot that we have 64% of possession yet Everton are by far more dangerous.
Have to say this, Rooney doesnt look in top fitness..
Fellaini has not lost a single air duel in this game..of course we dont have the height to match his..
pair him against Valencia or Berb..
Rooney has been giving away the ball cheaply..his Everton blues continue..
Just hope he tucks one in or move him to the wings and bring in RVP…
De Gea FTW..2 to 3 world class saves and hand in the face by fellaini already..
give it 15 minutes gotta get RVP on
by the way De Gea fuckin outstanding
Fellaini is raping our defence…
Just goes to show…having 10 forwards on the pitch isnt necessary to win the game or score goals…
FFS isnt there some sort of performance appraisal of our medical team..Every other profession/business has them…they should be getting a fail grade every time with for the last few years..
I know its early seasons, but after being that pumped up, watching some of the first half was painful to put it mildly…
I think we need sub off Welbz for RvP later on if nothing changes and sub off either Scholes or Clevz for Young to make a 4-4-2 shape.
Why don’t we just sign Fellaini. On the kind a form he was in the first half I’ll say he could be the steel we need.
what a gk?de gea may be the best gk in epl this seasons
and we forget that he is only 21
cleverely and kagawa impressed me
i don t think chicharito will find it hard to get a starting spot
kagawa, rvp, rooney welbeck berba macheda bebe henriquez chicharito we should let some players go
by the way, its good to see Tom C playing some hard ball game along with his clever passing..
Yeah we need man marking for the hairdo, he’s fucking terrorising our defence
They should have 1 or 2 goals had it was not for the superb david, two epic saves
But I’m sir alex will tell hem to slow down the tempo then we’ll be fine
Red devil: agree. We really need a keano to bully that hairy cunt and make him think twice about contesting for 50/50 challenges
Hi Mr Bee
Yes and our favourite player is crap as ever………..Bring on RVP, fucking BRING him on
Fellani has been completely bossing it.
Couple of 1v1 w Evra have been especially problematical. But haven’t seen much from evra to impress all round.
We have had chances, but everton are in it.
Bring on the new lad RvP at LB and Berba for Vidic. Like to see what we can do with zero defenders and 5-6winger/forwards.
Costas,
the front 4 is not clicking in this game..unable to read each other’s movements..
and Rooney is below par,
Neither Danny nor Rooney won a header in the first half i think..
If we do not concede in the first 10-15 minutes, we will win this. Everton will surely tire and be exposed towards the end.
I’m thinking bring wootton on for scholes and have him swap roles with carrick. Carrick and wootton both have the height to cope with the fro. Would love to see rvp…
still think we need a strong cm
cleverely if he stay injury free he could be a star
Vidic…. Nani and Ginger Prince need subbing … dangerous to keep them on as they are being targeted by the Toffees in the hope of getting yellow/red….
If anyone looks like scoring tonight it is the legend Paul Scholes…
laters ROM..
rooney is pretty average today..gave away a lot of balls cheaply..
Take Wayne off shit, that’ll send a real message.
Fuck you gibbo
Nice to finally see some people comment on out lack of bite in midfield. Something that even Carrick can’t help out with.
@Sandeep
I know mate. Hopefully they will grow into this game. Players who take part in summer tournaments ar eoften slow starters.
Fellaini is exactly what United need and is probably one of the most overlooked midfielders in Europe.
What do people expect with felliani? he’s stronger and pretty much taller than everyone. Everton are very tough at home, whoever expected an easy game must be living in a clown world.
Has no one told Rooney he is at Goodison park? He’s walking about looking like he doesn’t know where he is .
Everton cannot keep up at this pace and will get tired
DEjavo ………injured defenders……players not playing in their right positions…….midfield out muscled
Fucking hell, Kagawa is majestic
Is tom limping
Parry – one thing i’ve noticed is, wayne rarely turns up against his boyhood club. Seems to get more emotional rather than getting his head down and performing for united.
what the fuck you doing Paddy for fucks sake….
Take Nani off, Put RvP up front with Welbz and put Rooney in the middle of midfield, and hopefully he will get that fire back in his belly and get a yellow card instead of trying to go all season without getting one again.
Go for it Wazza…..and Kagagoogoo is having a good go’n'all
Had to come
fuck it
Deserved.
and there you go.
Well that was coming. Fellaini is destroying us. Why the fuck is Vidic not marking him there? Carrick marking him from a set piece?
Ok, we’ve tried this long enough.
Van Persie in!
Ok, we’ve tried this long enough.
Van Persie in!
Rvp warming up…
has that taught you anything SAF…. same as last fucking year….
Fuck.
Evra has had it!!!
Fellaini is having a field day with Carrick.
We need to get our defense back, but regardless, we need to cool the fuck off of this game
COME ON UNITED
Well that about sums it. Let’s have some proper mf for the love of Saints. I need a beer. Cricky.
That goal came from paddy
Somehow Carrick ended up marking Fellaini. Unbelievable.
Joffrey Barathron
agree with you why Vidic not marking fellaini?
we miss 5 defender that s why we are suffering so much
evra must step up
come rvp
We can fucking cross at all!
anderson and rvp for schles and nani
scholes is bocked
Scholes one sneeze away from a second yellow
Our defence is scared of Fellaini…he’s killed them tonight once again…you can almost see them cringeing as soon as the ball is played toward Fellaini and the defender is think “I gotta defend against that hairy cunt ?- I’m fucked!”
Better and closer. Lets get a draw
Welbeck off Robin van Persie on. Get in United!
That’s what they get for not outing chicha
Here he comes !!!!
cedars just had his first cum…….
their defence is beating almost every time.
Goal is coming
Rooney has looked so off the pace tonight
Urgh. Even something’s wrong put the usually powerful tonyV. Maybe he’s having the first day as number 7 jitters
FUCK NANI
Nani WTF
Yes, Nani is world class
tata Nani …time for a rest…..
Is Evra sleeping. I hope the new lad is good!!!
Its quiet on here….ssshhh
Goodnight and Goodbye Evra your not even a shadow of your shadow now. I hoped you would come again this season fat chance.Any body still think we aren’t still weak.for God’s sake speed the incoming transfers up.
Unfortunately Nani needs to come off
Aw you idiot Nani. Off you go off you go. Why am I getting annoyed during the first game of the season.
Is it just me or are Fellaini’s elbows high every time he goes for a header?
Nani cannot cross as well. Good that he is being subbed.
Nani off?? SUPRISE
I’m pulling my hair out here looking at Nani…..not one bastard ball has beaten the first man….
WHY IS RVP ON THE WING
Spot on tonybee
Kagawa has a sixth sense
I’m sorry but I need to slap Nani today. Evra stand in the queue
Evrea definitely has had it.
I’m gonna cry. It’s okay. I’d rather stutter at the start than do that towards the end of the season
evra is in shoking form
come on we must get a point
Evra is frustrating us a lot. Last season he cost us the Premiership. This one already a match.
United are getting well beaten and have done all night.
I am just so sick and tired of reading moronic comments by people with any knowledge of football and tactics. Just sad what kind of forum this is turning into. Better if people stick with cum and lady stories. Thats what people really know anything about.
Srsly Valencia? Really? Dont catch the disease
One game doesn’t make a player nor does it break a player. The whole team has looked out of ideas tonight.
Fuck, I’ll be extreme happy if we get a draw out of this game.
Why are we a yard slower than them?
THIS IS BOLLOCKS
Most fxxking wrong change by sir Alex ,ando will make scholes red
If people on here don’t know anything about football, why on earth do you read or come on this blog?
All the chest beating and shouting from rooftops and what an anti-climax…well..there’s always next time…maybe Fellaini wont be fit to play us at OT….
Vilhelm28 just got fucked and covered in cum ….by himself…. wanker….
We haven’t clicked rosay
vilhelm…you can always fuck off to anther forum….
Fuck me, our link-up play today is awful, it feels like the first day of pre-season, rather than the league itself
I am sorry but it really needs to be said. Evra has been fucking horseshit for about two seasons now. He saved his worst performance till now. How soon can Buttner start please? Fucking nightmare.
Rooney= total shite tonight.
Not surprised at the Everton goal to be frank when Carrick is defending fellaini there is only ONE winner there.
How about that defensive midfielder eh Fergie?
anderson is fat
Welcome to the club Buttner.
To be honest, we do not deserve anything from this match.
WHAT’S THE POINT OF SO MANY SQUARE BALL TO NO AVAIL?
Only 38 more games of this lads. We’ll all be needing to stock up on the hard stuff mind!
Jaysus wept.
I hope this help SAF to make his election better, Welbeck again same as last season tons of minutes and very few goals…and seriously I dont get the 70 minute sub always at minute 70′ ????
Least united can get is a draw. Back to the drawing board and kick on against fulham. Another case of the blue cunts playing their usual cup final against united. Twats.
Why in the world are we so off pace? Not as sharp at Everton. Rooney has be poor to say the least. We just haven’t clicked at all
well played Feillani.. you mop headed cunt…..
Actually what I am gonna do. Like str, does a good job, but really cant be bothered. Let the moaning begin. Fire saf, fuck him, he’s shit bla bla bla
Cant belive this is Utd Im watching????
clint
no doubt that we need cm
i n think anderson will never make it at united
Preseason performances around the world an indication of United form?
No excuse for match fitness either…! Lolz.
United don’t know what to do when in possession and under pressure.
@danny
DMs are out of date, haven’t you heard? We need more pass masters and one day we will start having 100% possession every game…
One of the most frustrating games i’ve ever seen. piss take.
Why must Evra always wait until he is blocked before he delivers the cross? I bet he would wait an afternoon just to make sure it wont be completed
well that’s that then…
we are shit ….
Poor. Poor. Poor. Sell the lot of the Center back physios. This is not cutting it.
Well done lads. I’ll be looking forward to the positives from this game. Lolz.
Dont over-react.. We had just 1 defender on the pitch.. I think they should’ve won 3-0.. De gea kept us in it.. We still have 37 games more to go. Peace out. That hairy cunt doesnt play for every team. And we wont have just one defender n the pitch for all 37 games.c
Felani was immense. The only postive I’ll take from this game is Kagawa.
@Hans:
Evra cost us the title?
I know you’re very upset.. but come on.. don’t be that stupid
RvP already making a great impact on our club. Playing like Arsenal, fibbling the ball around the area without any threats at all. Dissappointed, nothing more to it. Good game by all of Everton. Like the spirit and heart that Moyes get out of his men.
Great job by Everton.
Or wait. They were good. We were just plain horrendous.
It is like last season never ended ::D If you know what I mean.
We played without a formation, all over the place!
Amazing, SAF not letting Chicha to go to the Olympics to sit him not even in the bench? that’s ridiculous!!
Well, we got what we deserved.
Now let’s bounce back. Playing like that doesn’t win you trophies. To make an average player like Felanini look a superstar…
Olympiques, EC, Pre season all over the world, injuries and those lovely Glazers making it so easy to be Manchester United. We are not where we should be. I trust SAF to turn things around. We are a lot better. But Everton had the spirit. Let’s hope they play City and Chelsea like that too.
that was so fucking poor. how many touches did RvC have, 2? where’s the fucking delivery?
fucking hell, good run out for Kagawa though.
Shit happens lads. Can’t draw a lot of conclusions other than the fact that we need the spine of the team fit. Valencia and Carrick were our 2 best midfielders last season. They were wasted in defence.
On the plus side, good stuff from Kagawa and De Gea. And 90 minutes on the clock for Vida. 2 months ago I didn’t expect him (and not Rio) starting the opener.
How long is fergie going to use a legend who doesn’t have the legs anymore? 90mins for scholes is too long. The midfield looked good, but it was second to every ball and scholars was a hindrance. He isn’t moving well enough and looks lost when they have the ball.
The CM we missed today was carrick.. And that fouling hairy oaf destroyed our make-shift defence.. Dont see why rafa couldnt come on with nani going off. Could’ve been better.
My God Nani was horrendous tonight. Won’t do him any favours asking for that raise now eh? Fulham will surely be better…. I hope. Evra, it is time to go.
I know this will go against consensus but I am pretty happy.
What are you expecting from a completely rejigged squad? It takes time for a midfield to gel. It takes time for strikers to get on form.
Then we have an everton squad lead by a manager who manages to get top quarter placement with a shoestring budget. Doesn’t help that Carrick, no midfield general, is being forced to defend.
Kagawa looks brilliant on the ball. We have Scholes’ successor. Cleverly with a run of games will likely show the form that raised our hopes last season. De Gea looked even better than before. Nani was tempermental but it’s nani. You take the brilliance with the lack of concentration some times and he will be our spark player for big games.
I like this squad. Fast starts for us are a very recent trend. For Utd, it’s not our start but our finish that makes Ferguson’s team so admirable.
Well done Everton. They ran us ragged tonight and completely deserved the 3 points. Fellaini MOTM by a mile. As for us, we looked bereft of ideas in the final 3rd. The idea of crossing the ball into box when you have don’t have a tall CF has to be scrapped. We passed around the edge of the box a lot but lacked the final ball. Kagawa and Cleverley looked sharp. Rooney had a poor game but Nani had an absolute shitter. Evra has not improved. Lot of drawbacks but I would much rather we stumble now than later. Remember this is a marathon, not a sprint. See y’all later my fellow reds.
Manchester United’s performance on the pitch >>> ROM comment contributor’s performance in this section.
What a start to the season
I think not even one save from Howard..
I m sure this will serve as a lesson..
we gonna come back bouncing..
BELIEVE..
Everton were awesome. They played out their skins today. We got completely out muscled. Where’s Fred after laughing off Everton’s game plan of “putting themselves about” well it worked again just like it did in April and we were once again powerless to stop it.
Well, we usually start slow… that’s the one good thing. Other than that, Kagawa looked lively. Rooney’s touch was crap. Van Persie had to come and get the ball on the fucking left wing.
We have to expect that teams might grab a goal and then sit back behind the ball. We have to have that creativity to unlock defences. Far too much of the ball was played on the wings, with Nani fluffing his lines far too often. I do expect we’ll start to gel in the next few games though, so nothing to worry about just yet.
One thing that worries me long term is what sort of work goes on at Carrington every day. Do they practice corner kicks at all? Defensive and attacking ones?
Well here we go again. I only watched the first half TBH , but looked alot like last season and I don’t want anything that looked like last season. There was no penetration from centre and Nani was shit. I did think that Kagawa was really nice though.
It’s not good to start the first game like this. I know we ussually start slow, but what bothers me the most is the way we played. We were skow and predictable….people need to start pulling their own waith
No excuses here… Too many players didnt turn up. Lessons learnt from last year? Answers on back of postcard. Disappointed
I am embaressed by most comments on here. Yes we were not very good, BUT Everton were class. Fallani was unplayable and their centrebacks were immense all night.
Some of you need to take a good long look at yourselves, its one game against a team who played out of thier skin…
Shocking lads, shocking,
Fergie should just get the boys to kill off teams from the start. United can’t just be a reactive team. The complacency from last season seems to have crept back in.
The talk for the ‘enforcer’ starts. united dominated that midfield but it’s the usual everton, running their socks off and playing the game of their life. I’m baffled as to how a defensive mid would stop a lanky pole like felliani from scoring a header?
Great, which striker are we going to buy next? Meanwhile in reality, we have one fit CB who has been out for the best part of 9 months, and we are getting raped by Fellaini again. Keep that head buried deeply in the sand, no need for new defenders. It wasn’t like we had one recognized CB during the tour and knew that everyone was out injured… Also, what the fuck was up with the wingplay? Worst I have seen for quite some time.
Right, positives… Kagawa, brilliant player. And DDG deserved a clean sheet.
The team that wouldn’t die, te arrogance of you to label Fellaini an average player is astounding. He would have destroyed anyone on that form and Everton didn’t smash their club record for an average player. Fuck me what a ridiculous comment.
Fuck. Can’t say I’m gutted because we didn’t deserve this one. Positives are that we held possession and were doing okay with the ball except in the final third.
The only major problem I had was WHY THE FUCK WERE THEY INSISTING ON CROSSING ALL THE FUCKING TIME? It clearly wasn’t working and Everton were comfortably wasting time with our shit tactics. We need to start playing more through the center. ENOUGH of ths constant drifting to the wings and crossing it in. Ando came on way too late shoudla been given more minutes.
Roll on next week. We’re only just gettin started. Can’t wait to have regular CB’s back. That was a major setback for us. Need Carrick in the midfield and out of defence. It’s like a double blow.
Great performance from Everton, it’s a pity they won’t play like that against our rivals.
We need more work on the training ground from our coaching staff to come up with some sophistication when ‘plan-a’ doesn’t work. Far too often we rely on getting the ball wide.
First week of the season and we are already playing catch up.
Everton showed us today how to play for your club. They deserved their victory.
Fergie has to take most of the blame for this defeat, alongside Evra. He should not have played Tony Valencia at right back. He was wasted tonight. As for Evra, we should have purchased someone who can replace him straight away and send him back to France. Rooney was rubbish as well. Is Nani going to learn to cross consistently?
One bright spark was the potential of Kagawa.
I really thought that despite dodgy defence, our attackers would score a few. If our defence play’s like tonight, this season might turn into nightmare.
Like I said earlier,
It was like last season never ended, what do you think?
Hope it turs out good, last season we started strong and played crap, this season is maybe the opposite?
Costas – it is one thing losing to that pub side, but the manner of the defeat really gets on my nerves, hate the bastards, cost us the title in may, and again today. Still the boss has not sorted the real problems of this squad, which is going cost us AGAIN. How many times is the boss going to realise the deep problems of our CB and CM
I hope I am not the only one who is particularly pleased with our football up the center of the park. I was happy to see us not rely on our wing play as much. This boy Kagawa is quite special. As soon as Shreky sheds a kg or two they will be a force to recon with. Our defending left lots to be desired, yet; I remain positive. The future is looking bright.
I bet Robin’s wondering why he joined this shower of shite. It’s exactly the same as his old lot, passing it around the 18 yard box to no purpose, then hitting it out to Nani/Walcott to cross over the top of everyone. Brilliant.
Let the complaining begin. Everton played their part, defend in banks of four, very tightly. Punt the ball forward and in the box to Felliani and make little runs off him.
Glad to get that match out of the way and onto Saturday at Old Trafford. Just like when United lost to Burnely a few years ago away early in the season. Lick your wounds and carry on. Season doesn’t end tomorrow and the squad will only improve, can’t say that about other teams.
When the dippers ruled the league they signed players who caused them the most problems, and that fuckin walking bog brush must be giving SAF nightmares cos he’s fucking giving them to me. We could get him for next to fuck all. Fergie, Fergie sign him up. He’s done us in the last two fixtures big time. De gea and Kagawa top for us. Rooney fuckin nowhere.
Fergie go and buy a CB. Because by the time you get CB’s back title will be over.
Samuel
i agree..
What we needed today was rio at the back and carrick as DM…
Kagawa was as expected the best man on the pitch for United. It’s what you get when the player is intelligent, calm and has a good touch. That’s all you need. Last 30 minutes we drifted into crossing areas. I’m sorry but we do not have Fellaini in our team, who beats everyone in the air, so why we crossed all the time was confusing. But then again, Kagawa and maybe Cleverley today were the only ones who can work in tight spaces so I guess we drifted out wide because of our lack of quick first-touch play. And Berbatov stayed on the bench as expected and Rooney stayed on the field as expected. We’re 1-0 down but let’s not put all of our firepower on the field.
Costas:
If you weren’t a regular on here you’d probably be slated for asking questions about our training routines. Something along the lines of “if you are so good then apply for a job as assistant coach” etc. Personally I couldn’t agree more, did we get a single good cross in tonight?
Fellaini had a field day with Scholes & Cleverley. Asking Carrick to mark him for a corner is like asking Neville to score a goal.
If we couldnt handle Fellaini, who had Osman, Piennar & Jelavic beside him, what chance do we have against Yaya who has Silva, Tevez & Aguero for company?
Rooney had a horrible game, along with Evra & Nani. The plus side is Kagawa looked really tidy with the ball.
fellaini you absolute, fucking BEAST!! we had absolutely nothing to stop him today…
kagawa was brilliant btw…
and DDG was in the form of his life…. hope he can continue that form
I think we were okay not brilliant – balance of the team wrong
Carrick and Tony V are not defenders and no matter what we are going to miss our defenders
Rafael should have been in the game – should have had a chance to exercise his demons from last year
Tony V would have had that game
Stupid goal to give away – if only Welbeck was on the post – ahhhhh!
However we were lucky not to be thrashed 4-5 – David was brilliant
We’ll be fine – Everton game was not the problem – it was the lack of defenders and that must now be sorted out big time
United need to turn up – I don’t think we played bad but got sucked up by them lot and to be fair we did try to be aggressive from the beginning – it was just that we let them out do us – again
Only thing is we have 37 games to work it out – unlike last season when we threw it away
19
when you support a team you SUPPORT them, not slag off the players after the first game of the season. I am as disapointed by the performance as the rest, but I am not going to start slagging of players who play for may club. The same fans will be singing Nani when he hits a 20 yard volley in the top corner….
shame on you fuckers… u make me sick
For the fulham game I would start with wellbeck & van persie up top.
Once again a piss poor showing from rooney.
Before you start its just my opinion I have always thought that about rooney, his goals hide his poor games.
To be honest Tom C should have had the equalizer, but thats the way it goes. On a different day Fellani gets whistled for 10-15 fouls and probably carded a time or 2, Mariner did us no favors letting all of that contact go. I will say that I honestly don’t think our defense in the box could have been any worse with Wooten starting and our midfield certainly would have been better. Looking for a much better, more organized performance against the league leaders next week at OT.
i think the team could have played more direct at times instead of keep squaring the ball, there were space to be exploited by through pass and running of space but we kept squaring and attack the flank and the fullbacks and wingers didnt turn up…anderson was just strolling at one point, nani was frustrating to watch only consolation was kagawa and de gea played well
Please, nobody even start the midfield talk. United dominated that midfield tonight, Everton parked a big blue bus as soon as they went 1-0. The problem was we had 2 defenders in our back four, one of whom (Vidic) is clearly not up to scratch yet, and Everton were just determined.
The only criticism I can have is we really should have scored at least 1 (cleverley), and I was extremely annoyed that RvP didn’t come on until around the 70th minute and then immediately was put on the left wing. I know he moved into his more obvious position later on, but ffs.. £24 million last week and he gets 20 minutes.
I don’t know the news on Rafael at the moment? But if he’s fit, I would have loved to see him in RB position, so Tony V could have played on the right wing, even if it was later on. Gutted but that was a very difficult opening game to draw.
we get Buttner.as cover for evra,i am not sure of that
if we have signed baines for sure evra would be the 2 choise
we must learn from this match it s not the end there are 37 match left
we conced many goals on set pices especily againt strong team
today cleverely and kagawa were pure class
also happy for vidic to make a good match in diffecult place like evrton, many positive things we will bounce back rvp should start nxt game he will inspire us
Nani bad, too inconsistent. Not looking good for this season, same as all the rest. Bad decision making cant be cured with him.
Scholes stops us penetrating, he should be used as a sub when winning. He does what Vernon did, slows us down and doesn’t create space by making forward runs. Too slow at getting back. Not his fault, age catches us all up.
Kagawa looks good and so disappointed cleverly for took off. Shame not seeing Rafael, with Valencia on the right.
Why didn’t we go after Fellini? Totally out muscled us, wanted the ball more. Creates space and has a decent link up and wouldn’t cost that much. Shame we didn’t see RVP in the first half. No movement in the middle and upfront meant we couldn’t see him. Sick of seeing statues.
UTD UTD UTD. Fuck sake my voice is totally fucked. Paid near 10 quid for 2 pints of scouse piss. Cunts. Never mind. UNI-TED UNITED ARE THE TEAM FOR ME WITH A NICK NACK PADDY WHACK GIVE THE DOG A BONE WHY DON’T SHITTY FUCK OFF HOME.
NorthWalesRed, you’re spot on. Fellaini was unplayable in that form. We were literally powerless to stop him.
Fellaini – United 1-0
So sad!
Apart from vida kags rvp clevs an gea we are poo.absolute shit.im going to everton on loan till we play beyter
Someone please enlighten me as to which part of Welbeck’s performance tonight warranted him a start ahead of RvP, Hernandez or even Berbatov? Lacking penetration, any movement of any sort to drag their defence out of shape, or any ruthlessness in finishing…
It was a very difficult game, anything united would have got would be a bonus. The entire team looked toothless and bereft of ideas in the final third. We need to improve and quick. Positives are there but it shows no team will laid down and be beaten. Gotta step up.
When you could be 3-4 fucking nil down in the first half you gotta change things or the goals will fucking cum,ya we got beat by the better team tonight but a lot of united players didn’t perform, everton were like fucking brazil…
Fergie stop playing our best players as defenders…….Rafael should of been RB,Carrick CM
@FITB
A DM is the problem mate? Nah, Everton just run their socks off. That explains everything. Even the fact that they created twice as many opportunities with half the amount of possession… They were getting a free pass outside our box every time they were on the ball. But yeah, nothing wrong with the midfield. It’s rock solid.
Seriously, I have a feeling that Fergie has been too enamoured with the Barcelona style of play. But even they play with a midfield destroyer. The closest to that for us is Fletcher..
As for the defence, what can I say? If we get all 5 CBs fit at the same time during 2012, I’ll throw a party.
@ August 20, 2012 at 22:04
Lee Martins Winner says:
great response, I’m with you pal!!!!
take it easy, we will get better, remember last year we started strong and ended liek shit,
this year is the opposite, I hope
It’s like a recurring nightmare, Felaini fucks us again just incase a few fans missed it last season. My god what a touch for a big man, made Vidic and Carrick look like school boys.
Disappointing start to the season but at least we got to see Kagawa show why he is arguably are best player already and maybe Fergie won’t play Valencia (awesome last season as a RW player) at fucking RB. Sort that shit out!
Rooney continues to confirm my opinion of him been the most Overrated player in football history, may as well of not been on the pitch today. Touch was terrible and just generally not with the pace of the rest of the team and caught in possession an awful lot.
Let’s hope for a better performance next week.
it is sad but must to be said.. city’s full backs crosses the ball into the box better than our wingers..nani should take some lessons from clichy and kolarov !! positives from this game are DDG is becoming world class and KAGAWA what a clever and talented lad..
Lee Martins Winner – like the same shit since 2009/10 seasons, 2010/11 season 2011/12 season, seen a pattern on how poor united have been. The boss’s almost refusal to sort out the weak area’s, which are not need tidying up, they need sorting out. We are weak at fullback, CB CM, how are we going to win a league title, when we do not have a backbone. And relying on ferdinand and scholes to be part of the spine of the team is a grave mistake, and its going to cost AGAIN, just like 2010 and 2012
I’m not a qualified football manager, and I have irrational faith in Sir Alex Ferguson, but the irony is that in my totally ignorant and naive idea of football management, I believe that Fellaini is almost exactly the player United have been missing for the last 5 years or so.
Dela – RvP didn’t play dick for Arsenal in pre-season, he’s not even close to match fit. He hasn’t trained rigorously and hasn’t been fully integrated yet. Everton played better today and thwarted United. So be it. Again, playing your two best players from last year out of position didn’t do any good. Learn and move on to Saturday.
Kagawa was simply brilliant. Evra was the exact opposite. Cant understand why we wont buy a good left back. I think buttner might not be so good coz evra just got worse instead of improving. Nani is a mystery, one day brilliant the other worse than worse. Wonder if rvp is thinking if he came for this bullshit
Sick Hillsborough chants clearly audible on tv tonight……not good……..
@Dela
United dominated that midfield possession wise. Which really means nothing. How come Everton were a bigger threat going forward? Couldn’t get the ball off them the few times they got it.
Jesus Christ, some of you guys seriously need to relax. I would have felt a lot worse had we lost the match with Rio and Vidic as CB’s and Rafael as RB. Carrick and Valencia should not be a part of the back 4. Period. It’s just the first game. Lets get our defenders fit and then see how we will play. As much as I hate losing to Everton, we gotta lick our wounds and move on. And ffs stop the moaning about buying this player, that player and I even read a comment slagging off RVP. Seriously, the guy had like 2 touches on the ball, one of which was almost an assist to Kagawa. The knee jerk reactions were expected but some of them are plain ridiculous.
That didnt go well. Everton prison-fucked us straight up the ass with pure brawns… Kagawa, Dave and Vidic were standout performers. Not quite the response i was hoping for but lets not go and paint the world black after this. Only two times has it happened that a team has lost opening day to still win the league. United, both times. And we have got our new CANTONA! We will murder fulham.
I think the formation caused a problem for us tonight. Like last season whenever we tried 4-3-3 we just couldn’t pull it off and always reverted back to 4-4-2 and played better. I’m not saying we should play 4-4-2 but the overlapping runs from the full backs weren’t there leaving two men on anyone left out wide when we attacked, thus rendering crossing useless. Speaking of staying out wide Nani was in the middle way too much and broke down most of our attacks with poor judgements.
Definitely believe we should have gone with a 4-2-3-1 like everyone thought we would be with van Persie at the tip of the spear and Valencia, Rooney and Kagawa behind him but we obviously couldn’t do that with Scholes and Cleverly playing the holding midfield roles.
Also established RB Rafael on the bench why? Should have subbed him on for Nani at the end of the first half and put Valencia up top.
Bad day, but we’ll bounce back, Fellaini played the game of his life and it galvanized the Everton players around him. I hope Rio returns soon.
We played with 3 playmakers and no midfielder with shred of defensive abilities. Scholes and Cleverly were useless today.
We really needed Carrick in that midfield.
Carrick is not a defender.
Wow that was so bad, Rooney was horrible.
But on the bright side DeGea was awesome and Kagawa was lively
@FITB
Come next may, they may have cost us dear again.
I’m not sure Rooney is world class. He did nothing right tonight. Out of two chances that he had he should have taken at least one. Then the free kick, why does he shoot at the keepers side where he is 99% of the times favourite.
Why did not Vidic mark Fellaini at all their set pieces. He was tearing sad Carrick apart.
After they parked the bus, we simply had no ideas on how to break them. Before that our play was not quick and precise enough. They were beating us most of the time to loose balls.
I just cannot believe that Fergie got into such a no hope situation with only two CB just before the start of the season.
It was a double whammy tonight having to endure this defeat plus the commentary from Steve Fucking Scouse Bastard McManaman!!!
Well, well, well, the dire preseason form continues. Can’t wait for the apologist sentiments to come out in full force, but I believe a few points are worth acknowledging.
The positive ones first, beacuse there are few:
(1) If this performance was anything to judge by, Kagawa looks extremely promising. I believe he will do very well in European matches. He was a player we were craving and he should be lauded for his imput.
(2) De Gea. He looked really sharp and fresh, could yet be the best keeper we ever had. And I’m not just saying that.
Negatives:
(1) Defence. Nothing except De Gea looked right here. Evra was bad, Vidic still not in best shape, the other two were, well, not defenders. Things are looking glum.
(2) Cleverly. The boy can’t/won’t shoot for some reason and when under pressure, he keeps making bad decisions. He has a lot of maturing to do.
(3) Nani is a curious case. He was touted as the next Ronaldo, yet seems to resemble the next Ashley Young. He has had a very bad night, I hope he comes to his senses soon.
(4) Rooney and Welbeck not vibrant.
(5) The final insult to intelligence was bringing on Ashley Young. I mean, Nani had to go, no doubt about that, but who was Ashley Young ever going to beat under pressure?
(6) It pains me to see Berbatov being treated like an outcast, not even a fringe player.
City -3. Behind already, get used to it.
@fergie
I understand the disapointment, fuck me Im gutted too. Having said that, 4 centre back injuries is hurting us. Everton played as well as Iv seen a team play against us.
I will resevre judgement until 5 games in. If then we are as bad as tonight I will look for reasons, For now, I will stay loyal and accept that shit happens sometimes.
Fair play to Moyes, tactis spot on and distan / jagelka played very well. Even Hibbert looked like a 7 million right back.
all in all, lets look on the brightside, kagawa played well and DDG looked solid… shit draw to open with with.
Costas – but barca have a midfield of xavi iniesta busquetes and cesc, which our current midfield are not in their league, and fergie saying I have a attacking lineup like 99, hmm how about see how good our midfield was in 99 not out attack, and how about try and look at how good the barca midfield is, they are a little thin upfront, and a little thin at the back. But their midfield is outstanding. What boggles the mind is? wouldnt you think after the way barca destroyed us in 09, he would break the bank to rebuild the midfield, and now he not only has to rebuild the engine room still, he has to rebuild the defense at the same time. We still have wasted allot of summers since 09 not sorting out the real problems at hand
With either rio/smalling/jones/evans back, and Carrick back in midfield, we should be doing great. Rooney needs a few games and will come strong, my doubt is nani, as he seems unconcentrated and cares more about the ref than his own play.
So we dominated possession, but we weren’t purposeful. An interesting stat that someone mentioned above is how Everton created nearly twice the amount of chances as us with half the possession. It does beg the question: what the hell are we doing with so much of the ball?
We were pretty clueless in the final third. Could see Kagawa trying to link everything up, but Nani, my gosh, was so freaking indecisive, hogging the ball for so long! All of our players making their runs literally had to stop or be caught offside, because he hadn’t released the ball. Rooney’s movement was lacking in any penetration of any sort. Neither Welbeck nor he caused any major problems to the Everton back line.
For all the hoohah about a dynamic front five, we looked toothless!
I’m with you, Lee Martins Winner.
Well that was hard work. When Scholes or Cleverly did manage to thread a risky through ball to Shinji, he’d do well but the end result was a wide man receiving the ball from him, when surely it’s easier for Scholes or Tom to just pass it straight to the wide man. Like others have said, it’ll take time for things to click. I thought our midfielders could have tried a few runs forward with the ball but obviously they didn’t want to risk losing it with the back 4 we had. Probably be very different with Carrick in his normal position. We looked like we’d had a man sent off.
Somebody should have told the players it’s not a friendly
Everton deserved to win IMHO but am very satisfied with Kagawa’s and DDG’s performances and the team will rise from this upset to properly kick off this season, am sure, but any chance of having Fellaini at Utd instead of the Kaka rumours???
I’ve been telling some of you neanderthals on here for years who are still stuck in the 90′s that past it OAP midfielders like Giggs and Scholes won’t cut it.
What is the point of Kagawa and RVP if you have a midfield that can’t even get them the ball? Is Fergie that fucking stupid to not see where the real weakness is in this team.
BUY A CENTRAL MIDFIELDER FOR THE 2497th TIME FERGIE!
But oh no i’m not allowed to speak bad of them because that makes me anti united right? You know deep down that i am 1000% correct.
No hilsborough chants at all. Not from where I was stood anyway. All about Utd. Maybe I’ m deaf.
How can someone who is paid so much, and is generally regarded as one of the elite strikers in world football, have such a horrible first touch? The ball was bouncing of Rooney’s feet like crazy. Baffling. Why is he playing when he is clearly not fit? His (and a many others) performance tonight was the equivalent of me turning up drunk to work.
How many more times do we have to get raped in the midfield before Fergie gets the message? God i feel so bad for RVP having to deal with this shithole we call a midfield.
A lot of people missing the point with Fellaini, it wasn’t so much Carrick and Vidic, he was all over our midfield. Scholes and Cleverley were second best all night. Some fantastic touches for a big fella and people on here saying we made a second rater look good are deluding themselves this guy can play a bit.
any ideas why berbatov was on bench and was not used in the last 10 or 15 min!!!!!!!!!????
Can someone tell Wazza to put down the weed aswell and concentrate on controlling the football? Honestly within a few weeks you’ll see how superior RVP will be in this United team. SORT IT OUT WAYNE.
I don’t draw any positives from that game. We had no real strategy or inventiveness. The same problems persist. Everton new exactly what do do and they won. Of course we are going to beat many teams this season and finish higher than Everton but we are going to struggle in exactly the same games for exactly the same reasons. Everton away may be a hard game but if we can’t win comfortably, at least win somehow. It was just poor and we didn’t deserve to win whatsoever.
Only positives from the game were Kagawa, Vidic(playing a full 90) and DDG. Over all really poor and attack lacked any penetration whatsoever. Which i must say was largely due to the way we lined up. Dont understand y when we signed all the attacking players who can play through the middle and we start with a 4411 and play on the wings to produce crosses which none of them did (welbeck can be excused, nani, well he is ridiculous).
Players upfront are shorter players who are more adept to play through the middle not meeting crosses from the wing. Instead we start 4-4-1-1 like for like , no wonder fellaini had so much control . he had all the time to judge is knock downs and take down high balls with no one exerting extra pressure and closing him down. Everton with a more of a modified 4-4-1-1, with pienaar and osman coming in everytime possible to receive the fellaini knock downs. On the other hand we had scholes (already yellow) and cleverly to deal with fellaini physicality and other midfielders. Nani not helpful in defending, evra at his worst. Fatman immobile .. we were completely bullied and totally outplayed in the middle again. A 4-2-3-1 formation would have been more better in closing down their spaces esp not allowing fellaini to judge is knock downs and puttin pressure on the other players who are set to receive the knock downs by having an extra midfielders close enough.
@FITB
Thats the point that Costas was making. Even Barca who has the trio of Xavi, Inesta & Messi, now adding Cesc, plays with a Buscast behind them, who does nothing except breaks things up. They even bought a backup for him in Song.
So are we better than them that we don’t need a defensive midfielder?
EUnlucky lads, felli was amazing tonight, best I have seen him perform, and tbh, think we deserved the win overall, if everton dont win the league this year I hope you reds do.
And keep yer hands of moyes lol
Lee Martin’s Winner, well this blog is unfortunately just one big click that have their heads so far up each others arses that I refer to them all as toe nails. It’s got worse with every passing year.
What a fucking disgrace from the performace to fergies team selections and formations…1stly the performace was shit no determination wat so ever they dont seem like there to bothered about gettin the league of city…2ndly and most notibly again fergie playin players out of position wen he has got players on the bench who play there abd im not referin to rafa as playin valencia there made sense and also carrick did what he could so no complaints there but he played welbeck on the right who was completely in effective while uoung should have started..he also never changed the formation at all making like for like subs…it reminded me of fergies mistakes last year which he admitted to and here we r first game in and hes at it again…hope this isnt a sign of things to come, i love the man and hes the best man for the job but he still deserves to b critisced were its due and 2day in my eyes its due, i dont wana here retards comin on here and sayin ur wrong fergie is god bla bla fuckin bla, at least give me ur honest opinion…are best formation is 4 4 2 and always has been…van persie and rooney are the 2 best strikers we have so play them in the big games, again fergie has played to other teams strenghs instead of playin to ours..he went 4 5 1 to try and stop felleni and pineer when clearly it didnt work..reminded me of the barca final wen barca had 3 first team defenders out and he still played 1 up front to combat barcas midfield which again didnt work…like i said i love the guy but he still deserves to be critisced now and again wen due..fergie sort it out, play our best team and play to our strenghts…fuckin hope we do better at fulham next week as 1 il b there and 2 we need it…cant believe i ran round florida to find the game jyst to b laughed at by a load of baseball watchin yanks….great
Its simple, we will not play as bad all season and on that performance Everton will take a few points off others at home this season.
RVP has been there 4 days, lets wait a few games before we all proclaim the end of the empire.
fire our fucking physios fucking wank we always have players out fucking city have bastards who can play every match and we always lose our fucking players. What the fuck are our training sessions like if people are always getting injured i mean for fucks sake its getting ridiculous now!!!!!!!!
Lee Martins Winner – everyone knew the problems in defense, Costas was highlighting it all summer long, but others said hey wait until jones smallen etc break through, well they are not of any use to us today are they, especially when they were like this all season long last season, and we needed a CB in preparation in advanced to replace ferdinand, not still making him a first choice CB with his injury record. It is just tiresome seeing the same shit in replay over and over again since the 2009/10 season
This defeat does not surprise me I was expecting it,what did surprise me is the fact our manager knows we are lacking yet goes into the new season without fixing the problems prior to the start.Dithering when early action is required, what happens if he is still dithering till the end of the month.how long will it take for the newcomers to get comfortable? And how many dropped points because of it.
Boy, is the season over already? So soon? Give it a rest, it was first game of the season, against Everton, away from home…we’re playing some new players, a newish system, loads of missing players, and this is united, the club of the slow to start…having said that, evra should never touch a ball for the club again, he is atrocious…the rest of it will fall into play as it always does…How you deal with someone like Fellaini, I really don’t know, so I’ll give a few games before we start braying for blood…
Its so bad.im hurting deep insiide.why dont boss swap welbeck with fellaini.this is madness.three points three goals for city n we have zero?painful a llot.we need pastore and de rossi.
Name this mythical central midfielders within united price range and are world class that can improve united? You bang on xavi and iniesta, rare players that roll out once in a generation. I don’t know where united can find players comparable to them. It’s the same dull doom and gloom.
Nani and Rooney gae a terrible display today. Considering the level of inconsistency we’ve come to know Nani for and the fact we now have Kagawa added to Young and Valencia i think he should be allowed to go. Afterall, he is yet to sign a new contract and stalling and will also never get to the CR7 level.
Rooney on the other hand should not be allowed to fool around on the pitch when he’s not playing well, he should be substituted like any other player. His body language was poor for most of the pre season games and he seems to have carried it into the new season
I hate when we loseing like some jerks…when shitty clubs giveing us goals and pulling our nose down…
Everton Manchester United
31 posession 69
18 shots 14
6 Corners 8
196 good passes 571
Looking at those stats, it’s hard to understand we lost. Things will only get better.
@FITB
I am sensing that Fergie’s answer to the problems our midfield faced in Rome was to create a midfield that would pass the ball around just as much. He didn’t seem to believe that we lost that midfield battle due to the absence of a midfield destroyer. I have disagreed with Fergie’s philosophy on this matter, but I doubt he will change his mind. For now, Carrick will have to do.
Almighty shit tactics from SAF’s useless brain. Absolute rubbish from everyone except De Gea and Kagawa, Nani the worst, Rooney not far behind. Everton played to win, United turned up for a draw.
Fergie cost us this game. Rooney, Nani and Scholes all should be dropped. Rooney smokes, drinks and has a terrible diet, that’s why they let him smoke. He needs a rocket after watching that touch he has. Like bouncing off a wall. Scholes, legend, too old. Nani is complacent.
Marq – we have no one to break the ball up, scholes cannot tackle, and he was fucked once he was booked, cleverly nicks the ball but winning the ball is not his game. and kagwa is more of an advanced forward. So really we were awfully unbalanced in midfield and attack, midfield is not the biggest problem at the moment, its CB, and like I said ferdinand vidic evans smallen jones are not enough for my money. I aint going on and on, it is just very frustrating seeing the same tiresome shit has last season. My rant over, ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Wow what a surprise complete overreaction, firstly Everton are a decent side and could easily challenge for top 6,secondly we had a makeshift defence with Clev coming back off a long layoff,Kagawa just joining the team,it takes time
Think a lot of fans build the team up so much and forget the game has to be played by human beings, not by writing down lineups and standing back in amazement about how good the team looks on paper or the press of a button on a computer game.
All these comments after one game is just fucking stupid, what i will say thought Rafa had been given time off,he should’ve played and Tony V needs to be right wing,he is without doubt one of Utds most important players always brings good shape to the team and just makes our attack that much better
If Nani is going to stay it has to be on the left wing,he’s just not as effective as Tony V simple as that, also quite a few of us have been worried about the left back spot, nothing tonight changed my mind on that but stop being so bloody silly after the first game of the season
@Marq
I believe Barcelona also bought Keita for that very role didn’t they? You post a very interesting question there.
what about Mariner? i think he favoured everton
fellaini should beboocked for his fault on de gea,Mariner dont even give us the ball i think also we should have given a penalty for jagilka fault
i don t think many teams will get a result from goodison park this seasons we missed 5 defender and we did ok can t wait for fulham game rvp kagawa will tear theme apart
If Kagawa put in more tackles than Cleverley & Scholes, you know something is wrong
@ fergie
U make a good argument, but lets see in 5 games. If we are in the same position, then we will chat. as for comments like nani is shit fuck off and Evra is crap all hail bentner…. that shit turns my stomarch.
I think RVP should be first choice striker……..with Rooney
ROM in post mortem mode! Love it! Its going to be a looong season boys!
The thing that pissed me off was fergie and humpty dumpty were just sitting down for the 94mins.They might as well not line the united technical area at all when united play. cause they dont use it.The only plus when fergie does go is that the whole back room should also walk the plank.I mean they cant even clear the first man for a corner kick. The training of this great team is lacking.Whatever is said about queiroz he was a good coach on the training pitch.Nani`s attitude stank from the off,he clearly has the hump over his contract.I think hernandez would have linked up brilliantly with kagawa tonight pace wise. Its the first game of the season and id have took a draw at the kickoff, but were seriously out of ideas.Champions league with that performance!! no chance.
Some cunts on here don’t deserve to support Manchester Unites football club. What a bunch of spoilt brats throwing their toys out the pram. Nothing short of embarrassing to be honest. KC a prime example.
Absolute shit tactics. Fellaini made us look silly. You would think we would have some counter-move against him. Fergie and Phelan has their work cut out. I think Fellaini would have had a field day even if Rio played.
Costas – that is where he is dead wrong, even if fletcher was available, we would have still lost. I do feel he has wasted summers in terms of failing to maintain the squad, and while the midfield is a concern, the defense is a mess. My view never changed at all, we need either a fantastic enforcer, or a midfielder who can control games xavi style. I actually think scholes is hurting the progress and possibility of signing a midfielder, because the boss feels scholes can do a key job all season long. And that worrys me deeply, PPL say what if toure and kompany got injured, PPL should be asking, what if vidic carrick cleverly got injured, and that thought is terrifying
At least “Andesron” looked in better shape.
Felliani is a good player but hyping him up beyond is capabilities is baffling. Everton are essentially a direct team, they play for 50 50s and battle hard. That style suits the belgian and he benefits from it. Let’s not go overboard with praising him, anyone would think he’s the new edgar davids.
People also forget how rock solid the everton backline was tonight, they stifled united and we looked out of ideas. Rather than cause melodrama, FERGIE will rally the players and hopefully get them stepping up to the plate. Every team is likely to lose this season, how united bounce back is what matters.
The overreacting is ridiculous…..
@jeffory
Mate, I am so with you. They are the reasons Utd fans get bad press. IT IS NOT OUR GOD GIVEN RIGHT TO WIN EVERY GAME. We are and have been privildged to support a great club who have enjoyed a massive amount of success in the last 20 years,
Its UNITED till I die, not UNITED till we lose…
Actually I think they got the marking wrong for the corner kick. Vidic was marking Jelavic & Carrick was marking Fellaini. Should have been the other way round, no?
People already crucifying out midfield….
First of all, we are slow starters. That being said, I think that both Scholes and Cleverly played fairly well. Lots of running between the 2 of them. Scholes covered a lot of ground. Tom barely put a foot wrong. Got out of tight spaces and harly lost the ball. Defensively, they both struggled with long/air balls. But who didn’t? That’s what Everton do. They had the same game plan as last year and they executed it to perfection. Considering they were at home and our defense was not the best due to obvious reasons, we did very well. Truth is, could have been worse and thanks to David, who’s top quality, we got away with only 1 goal.
Not all is gloom people. We played some nice one touch football tonight. But as someone said, bad first fixture and credit to Everton for defending well and executing their shit long-pass football. Horrible to watch and unfortunately that system does cause us problems.
Lee Martins Winner – it does not change the fact, we are terribly short at CB and CM. Anyone saying our attack can carry us through is kidding themselves. Unless like Costas says, we have a settled spine, it maybe a long hard season. Someone said, would you want messi, or a world class CM and CB, give me the latter anytime
Gutted- but now we kick on…
Got tickets to saints away- lets fuckin ave it!
Ban KC before I put my boot through the screen…
Well shit, that was disappointing…
kc you useless fucking keyboard warrior of a cunt. first game with new tactics, new formation, new players, ungelled midfield and unsettled back four and you call out Fergie’s brain as useless? fuck you.
I thought Cleverly played his role well. Did I miss some poor touches, or was he pretty solid throughout? He and Scholes have barely the stature to compete with Fellani — I call that a tactical mistake, not a poor performance (though Scholes was, at times, a bit off the pace).
Lee Martin’s Winner, it is truly embarrassing some of the comments floating around this blog. Like you say we are not entitled to win every single bloody football match. Everton would have given anyone a bloody hard night on that performance and Fellaini’s performance was unbelievable. No one could have stopped him with the form he was on in that first hour. I’m not defending some of the individual performances but for christs sake the over reaction of the people on here is shameless.
It doesn’t hurt to have a Dembele or Tiote available for selection does it?
fellaini was magnificent tonight everton deserved their win.rooney poor kagawa excellent de gea very good and great to see vidic back.if any club mad enough to pay £20m for nani please take the fucker he was atrocious……..fucking atrocious
@ fergie
I dont agree buddy, I think smalling will be a great centreback. I think tom c will be a great midfielder. I just think after one game we need to chill, have faith in SAF and see what happens…
As for fuckers like KC and there were many more posting during the game,,,, Please dont degrade our great club by saying you SUPPORT it….Fans like you belong to asrenal… go join them you CUNTS
How about playing Berbatov in defence? He did a decent job the last time he played there if I can remember. At least he is a better header of the ball than Carrick, and not to mention we can free up Carrick to control things in midfield
People are allowed to point out the obvious deficiencies in the team without been called out for not being a fan. It’s a forum for fans to give their opinion and I’d prefer to hear from fans criticizing our bad midfield than from idiots spouting out banalities like “We’ll never die” and “Believe”.
Gibson shit on clevs today.too much hype on clevs but is shithole.come kaka now.out scholes evra nani young welbeck giggs carick n rio.we need overhaul team be4 transfdr window closes.get pep be4 chelsi do and we might challenge again.im off angry
knew it, some of your comments were so disgusting. bunch of ignorant clueless fans… you all give UTD fans a bad name
Scored – 0. With THAT attack.
Wellbeck at LW ? But anyways, 37 games to go.
United !
@pablo
Nani should be fucking hung. I know I’m it’s completely OTT to say that but he’s just so infuriating. Always doing another dribble when he doesn’t need to, shit crosses. He killed our momentum so many times tonight. I have no problem with selling him anymore. Poor man’s Ronaldo. A very very very poor man.
@ emy
Mate, I have no problem if you have a balanced opinion about our side. Its why I love football, but total slagging off of our players and telling NANI etc to fuck off etc its a disgrace….
On the lighter side, I just got a picture of United’s #8 – fella named Andesron. Seriously, Ando’s name was spelled wrong.
@Emyoueffsee
Agreed.
People said Fellini was unbelievable, its not hard when you bully the midfield. Keane wouldn’t have let him look so good. He looked good because he was never challenged for vast parts of the game. I lost count in this game and the draw at ot where he was allowed to chest the ball down. Carrick wouldn’t have done anything to stop him, Jones might have.
A dembele or tiote, both are good players but how will they improve united in midfield? kindly elaborate.
off topic
http://www.forbes.com/sites/afontevecchia/2012/08/20/billionaire-investor-soros-buys-7-9-of-manchester-united/
It’s always the same after a defeat or something negative happens, just get a bunch of wum, trolls and fuckwits, not Utd fans just a bunch of sad tossers with nothing better to do
Lee Martin I agree with you to an extent but tbh with you Nani is not consistent enough and if people say he should fuck off it’s only because they tire of his terrible crossing and bad decision making for the last 4 or 5 years.Does that make them less of a fan?
@ice cube
That”s true. But it’s also unbelievable that we didn’t track Pienaar’s runs off of Fellaini better. We should at least have been able to stop those, even if we didn’t have the players to handle Fellaini tonight.
What the fuck is Reds galore talking about now?
FITB – you are right…i.rememeber when Real sold Makelele…they starting to lose…they score 3 goals, get 4…they defence was like swiss cheese…that is clear…Javi Martinwz no matter how much he cost…we are short with players…and short with money…i wouls take Kaka on loan and vuy CB or DM
Whatever the score, Kagawa had shown what he’s capable of. The guy was from different planet with his tempo and vision.
Last four or five years, why has FERGIE kept him at the club? has nani been terrible for the entire time he’s been at united?.
I’m always supporting him but even I would say he had a shocking game tonight but so did the entire team as a unit. Couple of positives like kagawa, de gea and cleverley but in the final third, we just didn’t turn up. It’s a team game, look at the entire team and ask why they didn’t perform and how they can improve.
After the 4-4 and a summer of Tyler and ‘Agueroooooooooooo’ I always thought we’d batter them in this game. In all honesty, they fucking deserved it.
The big, big positive for me was Kaga. This guy is going to be a great United player… he has an eye for a pass and keeps on rocking.
Negatives – allowing for the fact that that was a desperate defence containing midfielders , we still seem to lack a plethora of top quality options in CM . Nani was utter shit. Evra continues to be a liability well into the third season now (sorry, I know this is not a popular view but he is costing the team so many times it’s untrue). Rooney was wasteful and needs to pass and move a bit quicker – he just stands still and allows the three pillocks marking him to rob him every single time.
Very down right now but we will be competitive this season. This was a bad fixture to get handed with four CBs out.
@ emy
Nani is inconsitent, he does make poor choices. But I cant justify some of the utter bollox i have read on here tonight……
Its shameful and pisses me off more than a shit cross from nani ever does……
Like ive said, ive no time for fuckers like that…..
de gea cleverely kagawa were class act for me
i don t know what is sir alex plane but we have many striker
kagawa will play behind the main striker rvp or rooney
welbeck and chicharito will find it hard to get a starting spot
Lee Martins Winner – if he is fit, and that is the problem
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2190961/Alexander-Buttner-medical-Manchester-United.html
I agree that Nani is too inconsistent. Im always holding thumbs for him, but its been too long. He must be nearly 26 now! I reckon we could get 20 to 30million for him because he has great quality. Maybe a loan to Spain would be better, and a sale next year. But we dont have room in the team for him if he isnt going to perform, and if hes dropped to the bench, thats a waste for all of us. I think his time has come.
I am satisfied with the level of play, but the level of ‘commitment’ wasn’t there today. I expected our boys to have red mist in their eyes as they try to get over the sting of letting the title slip. Everton were just ferocious end of. Like I said I thought we played well…if that is saying much. Nani will blow hot and cold, he is one of our skill players- I’ll not comment on his cold day today. Evra on the other hand has been on a 2 year journey of mediocrity…I welcome any competitors to his position.
I have bigger gripes to air, my two biggest complaints last season was our physio’s inability to get our lads off the freaking table. Whats going on with our medical staff and as that prat Balotelli asks …why always us? How do 4, 5 defenders fall off in the same period?
My second concern is the inability of our coaching staff to tactically respond during the game. I have never thought Fergies current of assistants were up to scratch. You could see something needed to change even before Fellani punked Carrick for the goal. Why can’t they ever put their footprint on the game by making timely subs and changing shape to suit immediate needs?
Obviously 1st game of the season, and no need to overreact…the lads needs time to blend and there are more games ahead. We are already behind all of the contenders, lots of work ahead.
BELIEVE
If only we had a player like Yaya Touré who would’ve put Fellaini and Jelavic in his pocket,
However United played against a physical team with a winger in RB , a Center- mid in CB and another CB who just came back from and 8 month injury playing his first competative game back and Evra who …
I wont bother.
Positives – 37 games left
– Do not need to play Everton
– Most importantly a WAKE UP
CALL.
Buttner should start against Fulham. Evra needs to be shaken out of his apathy.
Samuel just because you think Nani is a good player doesn’t mean others have to bear 2 shit games for every decent one.I accept he has talent but he flatters to deceive too much to be playing at a top club like United. That’s my opinion.
- Do not need to play Everton *away*
Sell, buy, buy, sell in order to solve a problem. No rational thoughts, no decent views as to how the team can improve. Same doom and gloom. Not really suprised.
When is Evans back? Rio?
dembele or witsel should be our y toure
Loaning Nani out fuck me i’ve never heard anything so stupid
Offensively disjointed and defensively rickety is the best way I can describe that.
Too many players doing too much of the same kind of work. Scholes and Cleverley seemed to get it each other’s way for me, occupying space the other should be moving into – temptation to play too many short passes without really penetrating past the ranks of Everton players.
Nani was on the groan-inducing form that he usually lapses into later in the season – still can’t cross the ball competently nine times out of ten. His evening was sort of summed up by that overhit pass on the edge of the box intended for Evra, I think. He’s such a frustrating player. Would anyone seriously mourn too much if an offer came in for him and he went?
Everyone’s favourite Tony, Valencia – low key performance from him, inevitably given where he was being asked to play.
Evra – less defensively suspect on tonight’s performance than usual (he’s been cack for the past 18 months if were honest) but going forward bloody careless.
Vidic – great to see him back. Please don’t snag your knees in the turf Nemanja, not while the Wobbly Gobbed One is injured anyhow. Come in Johnny Evans!
Rooney – seriously, I’m not being funny now but what the fuck have you been eating lately, Wayne? He looks about three quarters of a stone overweight. I know his body shape is naturally chunky and he’s moreover reaching that age when your body density is at its greatest, but f*ck me – stop dodging the salad!
Overall we looked half a yard behind them on everything – Wazza and (inevitably for an old man) Scholes being the worst culprits. (Apparently Phil the Nev said on Sky that Moyes had had them in extra early for pre-season workout and that maybe explains why they looked more match sharp.)
RVP – on the basis on 15-20 minutes, who can tell? I wasn’t quite sure he knew where he should be playing and maybe nor was he. Bit hard to tell at that juncture in the game where they were sat so deep – if you wanted space you had to move. My prediction for him for the long term – assuming he stays fit he will easily score 25+
Sole highlight of the match for me: Kagawa. VERY encouraging in an otherwise shitty United performance. Very intelligent passer and never shy of the ball. In more open games (games where WE go ahead first for example) he will create a LOT of chances. Wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up top of the assist league at the end of the season.
In summary – outplayed, outfought and outthought for the majority of the match. Disjointed and lacking urgency when we went behind, too content to play sideways football lacking courage and penetration ending up with piss-poor crosses. No plan B in the face of a well-marshalled defence.
Fear not, however: prediction for match v Fulham: even though they played exceptionally well and will come to us on a high, we will steamroller them….and then just as predictably as people are on here gnashing their teeth and wailing tonight, they will be waxing lyrical and creaming their kecks.
Get it in perspective people – we played a makeshift defence and an experimental set up beyond that against a very well-drilled and sharper Blue Scouse side on their own patch. It was always going to be a shitter of an opening match.
We’ll beat Fulham and wouldn’t be surprised to see the dippers take Shitty down on Sunday.
LUHG. That is all.
Manchester United need to be more aggressive off the ball closing down , we just let Everton walk all over us where as Everton didn’t even let us breathe.
@samuel
Isn’t that one of the most important ways for a team to improve? You get rid of the deadwood?
Who the fuck is deadwood, give me a fucking break
I think it’s a crying shame that Valencia is asked to play full back to accommodate Nani when he is ten times the player Nani is.Valencia and Rafael is a much better option,it’s not even a decision.
Excellent post, Dicko.
@wayne
Nani is getting there.
Emyoueffsee – if Nani is as crap as you make out and isn’t up to the standards required at united, why did FERGIE squander so much money on him? why has nani continuously played and trusted in the biggest games and subsequently producing in those games?. I’m in no way claiming he’s perfect, he has some parts he could improve even more on but he’s not even near his peak. I won’t post why nani is a good player because you have clearly made up your mind about what you think of him. If nani isn’t up to the level required at the top level then i can a few currently at the club who i have doubts over but i’m open minded and await to see them improve.
I want to see every player at the club succeed.
putting that aside, football is a team game. if the entire team isn’t up to scratch then nights like this, in a difficult league will occur. Positives and negatives can be witnessed tonight, united have to improve. Thoughts about how they can is barely posted on here.
It’s no fucking secret Rooney needs games under his belt to get going. It’s the first game of the year,City struggled at home to Southampton yesterday, what is wrong with some of you, anyone would think Everton are a shit team, their not
Colbert although some don’t rate Baines i do he played Nani well kept him tight,Baines is one of the top defenders in the league. You have to look at all the circumstances before ripping players apart and calling them deadwood after 1 game ffs
Always triple the posts when United lose! Don’t give a fuck people expressing constructive criticism. I would encourage it. Some of the posts though, are tragic. Lack any insight, or detail. Everton were better on the night. You can fault their performance. We didn’t get going. Not helped by the makeshift defense we had out there. I spoke about the effectiveness of Fellaini before the game. He bullied our lads all night. Fergie knew what was coming, but we didn’t have any answer to it. Fletcher was sorely missed in May, and again tonight. The 2 positives were Kagawa and DDG. The latter stopped it from being a more convincing win for the toffees. Kagawa is such a clever player. His brain is on a different level to most. Rooney wasn’t in tune with him, but that will come with time. RvP didn’t have enough minutes to impress. Not ideal start for United. The boss will be disappointed we didn’t create more chance with the possession we had. He won’t, however be distraught. This ones gone lads. Move on. Fulham next week? Lets get 3 points on the board. 19
Sorry forgot to mention…Rooney. I am so sick and tired of this ‘he needs games’. Jaysus he is supposed to be a world class player, how many times at the start of the season do you say Messi, Ronaldo, Aguero, etc needs games because they look unfit? United pays him 200k + in wages, he should take the initiative to be ready in time for the 1st game. He always scores loads of goals…yes we like that, but please lead by example so others like Anderson can follow suit.
@Samuel Nani is not a bad player but United need players to play at a high level all season now, considering we need 90 points to win the league, and Nani is way too inconsistent.Do you think Nani is a better option on the wing than Valencia? If you do that’s your opinion but it’s one I strongly disagree with.My main point to begin with was that if there are fans on this forum who hate Nani(I don’t hate him btw)then the fact that they express this doesn’t make them any less of a fan but you obviously feel that it does, which is bollocks.
@wayne
I’m not saying he’s deadwood based on this one match. He’s been consistently making wrong choices for years now. When he’s on form he’s a good player, but he’s way too inconsistent to play for United. Some of his mistakes today had nothing to do with Baines, it was just sloppiness. Like that easy pass to Evra that he sent over the line. Passes like that are total momentum- and spirit killers. But off course the whole team, apart from Kagawa and Vidic, were shit today so I’m not blaming Nani for the defeat at all. He was just one of the shittest.
route one football, united needed two fit and sharp centre backs to cope. Felliani was unstoppable in the regards of winning everything in the air against little midfielders like cleverley and scholes. I don’t think they dominated us, we lacked that thrust and end product in the areas in which it was badly needed. United can improve, FERGIE will be drumming that into their ears. Willie’s post sums up how adequately a post can be written. It’s been one frustrating night.
TraffordLord not a very pretentious user name, not everyone is a fucking robot i don’t know or give a fuck if Messi,Ronnie and Aguero play blinders first game of every season, just a stupid statement and why Aguero’s name is even being mentioned is beyond me
A season isn’t one game and it’s fuck all to do with being world class,Rooney delivers season after season it’s just a fact he needs game time like a lot of other players, your whole comment is just fucking daft mate
Some whiny fucks on here, slating players and the Manager after 90 minutes of football.
Pathetic support from fickle fans.
A few spirited comments, like james21 paying 10 quid for 2 pints of scouse piss.
We do need to get a couple of our centre halves back sharpish. At least 1 more!
Colbert simple fact is though mate Nani has been Utds assist leader for the last few seasons,so how can he not be good enough, makes no sense
emyoueffsee – no player apart from maybe messi can consistently put in brilliant performances for the entire season. I know nani has weaknesses than he can and should improve on but the strengths are also there. If he isn’t cut for the top level then FERGIE won’t place much trust on him.
As much as he played badly tonight, he can also regain form and produce. We’ve seen how he played for portugal. Valencia is a very good old fashioned winger but his style isn’t always effective but united have varieties of wingers who bring different styles, i can’t complain.
I’m not questioning anyone’s support for the club but i’m just saying, one game doesn’t make or break a player. Let’s get behind the team.
@Wayne Valencia only really started playing after Christmas last year and was way more productive than Nani.
@wayne
He may be, but for me he still isn’t good enough. You never know if you can rely on him to turn up. You never know which Nani you’re going to get. The one who scores a wonder goal or the one who couldn’t put in a decent cross to save his life. That’s what I’m sick off. Every players has bad days of course, but Nani has too many of them to be a regular for United. Or maybe i’m just being overtly negative. Fuck knows. I’m conflicted.
@Samuel Why do you feel the need to put Fergusons name in caps.I know he picks the team but I’m of the opinion that Valencia is a better player and you’re obviously not.Straw poll all united fans Valencia or Nani as our first choice right winger.Oh yea I say Valencia.
Emyoueffsee it’s no secret i rate Tony V as one of Utd’s most important players,i’m not comparing Nani to Tony V,i just hate the slagging off and daft comments being made after one game.Nani frustrates me because he could be so much better but that doesn’t make him a bad player and his stats back that up
@samuel
Evra has been dogshit since 2010 but Fergie still plays him every week. He’s not infallible.
Like lee Martins, giving it 5 games to see where its at but Fuck me it looks thrr same drool from last year.
Knew we’d need a CB far back as preseason and it showed today.
Midfield? Well,now that’s a tasty one.
Costas
I think you can match those boys from Spain. Question is how you go about it. SAF and a lot of ROM members think its mobile midfielders ala modric,Sabin,Silva. That ilk of players.
I call bullshit on that. The best have hot that steel in midfield. That’s what gives the attacking players a solid platform to build on.
Carrick should actually be the one playing alongside a DM the way Xavi does with busquets doing the dirty work.
It goes beyond personnel though imo. We’re getting the fundamentals wrong for the way we want to play and with the guys we got. Those lads may have healthy team spirit but it doesn’t show in the build up and general play.way too compartmentalized. You dnt need that on a football pitch these days
It seems like those fans who wanted to see their boy Tony V rampaging on the right, are attacking Nani for helping out while Tony was away. Would they have started RVP there? Idiots.
Rafael’s leave must be cut short! Just kidding. When is he available again?
@Wayne Valencia is one of our most important players and tonight he played as a full back. When we had a full back on the bench.Does that make sense?
@ Wayne
Sorry mate, its your statement that is daft. Who mentioned anything about playing blinder? The main point about my post was about fitness and discipline. High value players such as Rooney should take it upon themselves to try to be fit (barring injury) for the opener, did Rooney look fit to you?
Aguero was mentioned as an example of proper professionalism, being ready so your team and teammates (don’t care too much for the Shitty scums).
You don’t like my board name….Couldnt give 20 fucks.
Emyoueffsee – i think i reserve to post how ever i want so if i post FERGIE then i post FERGIE, that’s a silly question.
Straw polls? there are some idiotic fans out there, the same that degrade michael carrick will pick, you’ve totally lost me now.
Board certified?
@Samuel Very simple question really.Valencia or Nani as 1st choice right winger. Not sure how you’re unable to understand such a basic question.
Does this basic question relate to how united can improve? if not, then shove the question up a donkey’s ass. I’m not getting into a debate about who is or isn’t better.
Emyoueffsee in my earlier post i mentioned that, thought Rafa had been given time off,i’d have Tony V on the right wing every game
TraffordLord, why would you give 20 fucks, you can argue that Sir Alex shouldn’t have given Rooney extra holidays and i’d agree simple fact is he did, some players need games for sharpness that’s just a fact,Rooney is one of those players wouldn’t matter how fit he looked he needs game time.Your comment is stupid because you pick 3 players out of the hat and say look at them always ready to play no matter how long the layoff, give me proof show goals and assists from these players first game of the year, just don’t throw out 3 players names.Like i said don’t really give a fuck about them if you don’t understand a lot of players need game time regardless of their quality,no point in continuing talking about it
You improve by playing your best players in their best positions.Sorry but shoving things up animals arses maybe your bag but I find the thought repulsive.
We are United. We dare to dream. Believe and all. So why do people keep getting shot down for being disappointed with a performance that belies dreams? No time this season to get sloppy. Every goal counts. Every point counts. That much we learned freshest from last season. Welcome back to the new season anyway, lads.
What made you think of it then?
ironbrand so it’s ok for people imo to post total bollocks but it’s not ok for me to respond to it,how does that work?
Nothing to do with being disappointed,it’s all to do with talking shit and slagging off players after ONE FUCKING GAME
@DreadedRed I was responding to Samuels idiotic post where he said I should shove my question up a donkeys arse.Keep up.
Some positives from the game:Kagawa looked quality and De Gea had a blinder too and obviously was great to have Vidic back.
@Wayne
Its my first post of the new season. It wasn’t aimed at you. I have been reading comments here throughout the break and that’s where my own comment came from. We’d have more cause to pat our backs or butt heads over the season. Its a long one. Just not this game though. Only positive is see from this game is getting to read comments here and laughing. Helped reduce the feel of having lost and having a shitty weekend from seeing the bitters win. Cheers mate
So many posters wanting to get right up shrek, now they’re after donkey!
DIdnt see the match and will not be able to see any repeat telecast too. But some seriously funny comments here. Some talks of getting Pep as the manager:) Seriously??? All this based on 90 minutes of football.
we got new players in the team (Kagawa, Clevs, RVP) playing in critical positions. We got a midfielder playing as a defender and a winger playing as RB. What else did we expect from them?
Valencia as the winger and Carrick in the mid would have restored some efficiency into the play. Kagawa is playing his first match for the club and it is Everton away for heaven’s sake.
If somebody were thinking for us to win 6-0 or something, then they are clearly misguided. The team needs to gel and has the potential to achieve great things. It is a marathon and not a sprint. So have some fucking hope on the team and the manager who has take the club to such great heights that a single loss is unbearable for some ‘supporters’.
My only suggestion is not go overboard in criticising the team nor praising it.
Rooney should be benched…RVP should be our lone striker..get one of them CD back from injury..we will show shitty and all the cunts that think we are not good enough this year..and yeah..nani needs to get his head checked..he is no ronaldo
If Nani was Ronaldo, would he not need his head checked?
This United team is wonky and last nights selection made a two position problem substantially worse by dropping our right back, which in turn messed our right wing attack and our left wing as well as the man who normally would play over there was in our right wingers position. This muck up even impacted on the substitution as Van Persie got stuck there.a proper fuck up all round.
