Manchester United travel to the north east to take on Steve Bruce’s Newcastle on Saturday evening. On the back of a horrific 6-1 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur before the international break, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking for his players to bounce back today.

Harry Maguire, who’s had a nightmarish few months, was a doubt ahead of the game after picking up a knock before his sending off when playing for England. However, United’s captain insisted that he wanted to play if fit and not be taken out of the firing line.

Mason Greenwood was a surprise omission from the squad, presumably with a late injury, while Scott McTominay and Fred have been preferred in midfield to the likes of Paul Pogba and Donny Van de Beek, who is still yet to start in the league for us.

De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, McTominay, Fred, Mata, Fernandes, James, Rashford.
Subs: Henderson, Telles, Bailly, Matic, Pogba, Van de Beek, Ighalo.

Newcastle: Darlow, Krafth, Fernandez, Lascelles, Lewis, Hayden, Shelvey, Hendrick, Joelinton, Saint-Maximin, Wilson.
