    why isnt de gea starting?

    lindgard worries me :S

  5. UNITED4Life says:

There is no more Wide player in the reserves to replace young?

  6. Red Devil Canuck says:

Lindegaard again – how bad are De Gea’s teeth? Hopefully we can win the midfield battle with this lineup and see some goals from Rooney and RVP.

  7. zigoo says:

predictiing 3-1 to us…2 rooney and young to score aswell

  8. WeAreUnited says:

    UNITEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED!!!!!

    cmon lads.

3-0 for us. Young one goal, Rooney one goal and Readign to score an own goal hahah

  9. Costas says:

Tom is obviously forbidden from starting two games in 4 days.

Good to see some width in that team. We might need it if the game gets too narrow.

  10. Hans says:

Come on lads!!!! Please take a few chances today!!! 3:0 or better would be nice.

  11. Costas says:

    @Red Devil Canuck

Nothing wrong with his teeth mate. I am guessing Fergie finally made his mind on who the number 1 goalie is. Can’t say I agree with it personally, but it is what it is.

  12. Andromeda says:

The lads should pull the strings early in the game.City have lost 2 points and we need to take full advantage of that…regarding the lineup I am extremely satisfied.Fletcher with Anderson are the perfect balance we need in our midfield…Chica on the bench, that is the icing on the cake.

  13. Andromeda says:

Cleverly should start the Derby in the weekend.Fergie is giving the boy a break.

  14. Hammed jamiu adisa says:

I see manchester united winning this macth by 4-1

  15. CoppelRED says:

    Oh fucking no!

  16. parryheid says:

Christ just started and stream down already Agh.

  17. georgejoseph says:

WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON………

  18. Hans says:

    Johnny, Johnny, Johnny !!!!

  19. zigoo says:

van persie giving the ball away so much!!!just like last week!

n why is rooney on the right wing!wtf!

  20. Red Devil Canuck says:

    Nice goal

  21. zigoo says:

    ANDO

  22. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

ANDERSON YOU FUCKING BEAUTY!!!! That is why this man needs to be given a PERMANENT spot in this team. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC.

  23. CoppelRED says:

    Anderson…yeah!

  24. Dela says:

What a fcking goal from ando, holy shit, inch perfect. Full marks to young for the set. Great response.

  25. Robbo2Keano says:

thats why we have all been crying out for ando

  26. georgejoseph says:

    YES COME ON ANDERSON

  27. CoppelRED says:

    Penalty!

  28. Gopher Brown says:

I think Fergie is playing with his keepers’ emotions too much. He seems to be favouring a ‘stay-in-the-team-until-you-make-a-mistake’ mentality, which isn’t good for anyone.

De Gea missed a game cos of his teeth, so Lindy came in. Because Lindy has been solid, Fergie thinks it better to keep him in until he gets injured or lets in a soft one, then the cycle starts again.

Don’t sign a keeper touted as potentially one of the best in the world for £17m and then refuse to play him. We might as well have signed a 30 year old who is solid and has some experience.

  29. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

BANG BANG BANG!!!!! IN THE LEAD!!! GOD BLESS YOU JONNY EVANS!!!! brilliant control.

  30. zigoo says:

I TOLD U WAZZA WILL SCORE

  31. Dela says:

Stone wall peno. Good man rooney. What a response lads.

  32. Sonneveld says:

But how cool was van Persie’s back heel

  33. evisu says:

    Shit defense still shit….

  34. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

Unbelievable. Who the fuck is supposed to pick him up there?

  35. orez says:

FuCK!!!!!!!!!!!! What the fuck is going on here?

  36. parryheid says:

fucks sake 2-2 and seen nothing

  37. CoppelRED says:

    Damn!!

  38. Dela says:

    Free header. Come on ffs.

  39. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

Why is Evra on Jason Roberts? Why can’t one of the big lads take him?

  40. Red Devil Canuck says:

Why is Lindegaard not catching the fucking corner?

  41. evisu says:

    LOL GREAT DEFENSE!

  42. orez says:

Vidic would have never allowed this. Fucking pathetic.

  43. CoppelRED says:

    Shit, shit, shit…

  44. UNITED4Life says:

    enjoying this

  45. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

Jesus Christ. This is a fucking Joke. This cannot be real. This is the defence we intend to start next week at City?

  46. georgejoseph says:

    OMG FUCK

  47. Kungfoocantona says:

Fucking disgrace and its down to fergie and his fucking tinkering of the back 5..absolute joke regardless if we win or not…this team is average at best

  48. zigoo says:

OUR DEFENCE IS SO BAD WE R MAKING ROBSON KANU LOOK LIKE MESSI

  49. Hans says:

What the fuck is Lindegard doing?!!!

  50. Akuru chinonso says:

I love man united so much

  51. DEVILisRED says:

Fletcher have been very very poor. Need to get a grip

  52. knightsmith says:

Can we get a start? !

  53. pablo says:

our keepers wank our defence is wank this is fucking terrible.its reading!!

  54. lawman10 says:

how much longer do we have to put up with shite united?
no midfield and by the looks of it no defence.
it’s fucking dreadfull, god help us when we play shity.

  55. bbqbod says:

we always FUCK up these evening kick offs

  56. Paul Scholes Jr says:

Garbage defending by Evans. Rafael is looking off today also.
We can’t even retain possession against Reading…….

  57. Kungfoocantona says:

An rafael is killin my dream team here….i mean even the comentater has just said fergie rotates to much with the back 5….i wreckon it will be about 9 each against city if our strikers turn up but im sorry to say fergie needs to wake up or move aside for sum1 else

  58. Mahesh says:

Get that ass Lindegaard off the pitch right now! This is disgraceful – worse than sunday school defending…pathetic…

  59. Vidic says:

    What ?!!!!

  60. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

PLEASE DO NOT CONCEDE AGAIN AFTER THIS PLEASE?

  61. UNITED4Life says:

crazy game and enjoy it guys!!!

  62. Ice Cube says:

This is how Scottish football was in the 90′s. Great to watch, but the standard is fucking shite.

  63. Dela says:

Why was Evra protecting the keeper? He is the smallest defender we have surely, rio has to be the one doing that job. It was the cause of two of their goals cause lindegaard came off his line.

  64. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

Rafael? Ok I know he’s been bad but he’s not been the worst. RIO and Evans have been FAR WORSE so far.

  65. CoppelRED says:

Teams simply ain’t scare of us no more…

  66. Dela says:

Rafa off. I have to support that even though I love Rafa, a second yellow would put him out of the derby and he is having problems.

  67. Kungfoocantona says:

Oh great 3 3…ferdinand needs to come off he is done. Whos he bringing off for smalling…its rafael, can understand that i suppose but its fergies fuck up to begin with…vidic to play against cluj is a must and also a consistant back 5 would be a start…im so fuckin angry with this team a joke isnt even the start of it…arghhhhh

  68. Mahesh says:

Chris Smalling coming on – I hope its for Lindegaard. I’m sorry, when you concede soo poorly from 3 set pieces, the goal keeper surely has no idea how to organize anything! And Rafael, suck it up and stop being petulant!

  69. Mahesh says:

Rafa had to come off…already on a yellow, was getting run ragged, was a guaranteed red at some point I would think…

  70. Kungfoocantona says:

Wen was the last time we conceded 4 goals!cause its happening 2nite

  71. Mahesh says:

    Fuck yeah…now finish it off!

  72. Kungfoocantona says:

I have to defend lindo here i dont think hes done anything wrong its a shit defence full stop but he aint done anything wrong

  73. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

Three Simple Words: HOLD. THE. LEAD.

  74. orca says:

It was actually Evans who lost his man on those corners.

  75. Kungfoocantona says:

If only i was neutral this would be awsome

  76. Mahesh says:

@kung: I don’t think he’s anything wrong specifically – just the fact that he’s so passive, he’s taken zero responsibility for organizing the defense in front of him..that is his job!

  77. georgejoseph says:

Thank good Vidic is nearly fit ……only a week away

  78. Dela says:

Smalling is on to protect lindegaard from set pieces because Evra did It twice and failed. Rafa already on the yellow so he was the obvious choice to come off. Hopefully that stops the free headers and allows lindegaard some freedom. They are worse at the back than we are so we seriously need to pull away now.

  79. Mahesh says:

Get to half time, and wait for the hair dryer boys!

  80. Kungfoocantona says:

    Dannysoya

U no it aint gona happen the only thing we can hope for is we score more than them

  81. Mahesh says:

That was surely over the line!

  82. georgejoseph says:

how was that not a goal

  83. georgejoseph says:

    Well over the line

  84. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

That was a clear goal though. UGH.

  85. Dela says:

Assistant got it wrong. Ball was at least a yard over the line.

  86. georgejoseph says:

    Aldo injured again

  87. Dela says:

Ando injured? Damnit, that lad cant get a break.

  88. Kungfoocantona says:

Cant believe that ando gets 2 games in a row and deservedly so and wat happens…poor fella hope its nothin serious..however phil jones in my opinion is a central midfielder so good to see him getting on

  89. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

Why God Why does this ALWAYS happen to Anderson? Best player on the pitch for us and he goes down injured JUST as we are about to play City. This is irritating.

  90. Mahesh says:

What the fuck…our best midfielder injured now!

  91. orez says:

Fucking crazy half. We should be two up, but shit happens. Rafael played the price for Lindegard’s incompetence. He should have known better, but the GK has been shit. Still too bad for RVP he didn’t get his second.

  92. Proverb says:

Anderson unlucky to g out injured, its not even fair to the boy. I pity him

  93. Fibes says:

Bloody hell, can’t believe some of the moaning on here. WHAT. A. GAME.

  94. Rd5454 says:

Too many people didn’t know football poor

  95. zigoo says:

LINDEGARD IS SHIT…NO WONDER SCHMIECHEL SAID HE ISNT GOOD ENOUGH FOR UNITED A FEW YEARS AGO…

rafael came off coz hes booked,he wouldve gt a red card am sure

i just hope that rvp clear goal isnt the turning point in this game…it shd be 5-3

and we need to buy some fuckin defenders

  96. Fibes says:

    Ando’s injury aside, of course.

  97. Diego says:

    1) What the fuck is Lindegaard doing in goal? The presence of a sack of shit when crosses come in…
    2) Our defense really isn’t that good is it?
    3) For once Ashley Young has been good
    4) A fucking shame about Ando
    5) Phil Jones for Ando? Really? Cleverley is on the bench.
    6) The RVP goal was impossible to spot, ball traveled at a very high speed and there is no way he could be sure. He made a brilliant call for the 4-3 goal though.
    7) Hairdryer please…

  98. Dela says:

Very bizarre first half, bad bad tactics for defending corners but I’m hoping that’s cleared up now. I have a feeling that when it gets late on we might run rampant against them, but I would be just as happy if the game ended at this score. Feel bad for ando but I and others here have been saying it for weeks here, it isnt that fergie doesn’t like him, it’s fitness concern and I suspect it’s the same for Tom, hopefully he will sit out cluj and be ok for next week, might have been taken off promptly because fergie didn’t want him to chance playing on. He seemed frustrated going off so he might have wanted to try play through it.

Anyway, we are ahead for now. We simply have to win today, the other results were a gift, need to dig deep now.

  99. zigoo says:

on the positive young has been great

i told u this lad isnt amazing, but he has a goal in him and can play the odd great game…unlike welbeck…

    keep it up

  100. pablo says:

ando keeps getting injured cos he dont keep himself physically fit………simple

  101. matt says:

jesus fucken christ, i dont wake up on time to watch united for the first time in years and at half time its 4-3. couldnt i have missed the west ham game instead? if someone could be arsed to give me a run down of whats happened i would really appreciate it

  102. zigoo says:

like i said it is crazy that robson kanu is being made to look like messi

    he is destroying evra
    wtf

  103. Hans says:

One of the craziest half ever.

Two conceded headers could and should have been avoided. If Lindegard had stayed on the line, he had good chances of saving them both. Look at them again tonight. He needlessly moves into no man’s land and the ball goes in via the space he could have been in.

Felt sorry for Rafa. he has been outstanding so far.

We should now go on and finish them off!

  104. Costas says:

What a first half. Shame we get all the decisions hey?

Gutted for Rafa. Paid the price because Rio and Jonny couldn’t head to save their lives and Linde’s ass was anchored on the goal line.

Anderson’s injury didn’t surprise me really. That’s why he doesn’t start often. Can’t say I was surprised with who replaced him. You have to wonder what Tom was thinking.

Young, Rooney and RVP our 3 best performers imo.

  105. Red Devil Canuck says:

Now that was a crazy half!
Another example why video replay is needed. It’s too bad it’s not already in place – it should be 5-3. Hopefully having Smalling and Jones on the field will nullify their threat at corners. I think Lindegaard really needs to start coming catching or punching for some of these crosses into the box.
    It’s a good thing

  106. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

Fibes so you like that we have conceded three goals that could have easily been prevented?

  107. woodsie says:

ffs can we have a nice calm second half now please lindgaurd needs to get a grip

  108. Kungfoocantona says:

To be honest it was a tough call and also we have had our luck down the years with the WAS IT OVER or not….we need to go out this second half and really humiliate reading here otherwise we could really suffer…i could except this if it was city, chelsea, barca etc but not reading who are worse than poor…defenders are needed as is consistancy with selections…why is fergie doing this i just dont understand it…my opinion is somthing new is needed in this team and certainly sum world class or better defenders and central midfielders and in all honesty i dont think fergie is the man he was and should step aside at the en of the season and let mourinho or guadiola take over…its no secret the man is old and he has done wat cant even be put into words with thi club but its just my opinion and i no sum wont agree an thas fair enough but really..ferdi and fletch shouldnt be on the pitch…ferdi is done for starters and fletch isnt wat he was…we have no quality in our midfield apart from ando and thats not good enough for our side..the defence is average and gets rotated more than a fucking rolax…the strikers are brilliant and cant complain…al i will say i thatnk fuck for rooney and rvp

  109. Costas says:

    @Zigoo

Young is there to do a job like I’ve said before. He’s no Ronaldo and won’t beat plenty of full backs. But if he has the right kind of support around him, he can still be creative as we saw today…

  110. zigoo says:

    BIG ISSUE

WHATS WITH THE COAT BEING THROWN AT RAFAEL BY THE COACH?

I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT

  111. va7encia says:

ando ffs man everytime u troll us fans play great, get injured, take months to come back, take the piss and play shit, find form, have us praising u as the next scholes, get injured….

  112. evisu says:

Lindegaard terrible game.. Really hope De Gea start against CIty and god hope Vidic will be back, this defense is a fucking joke. Just stand around like idiots, fucking bystanders.

  113. Ash says:

Ok now that was real fun. When do you see 7 goals scored in first half and 2 substitution also made by united in first half. Fucking ando’s injury is getting irritating. Our injury curse is still continuing .
People always say de gea’s decision making is poor but man tonight lindegaard;s decision making was pathetic. Changing the back 5 is not helping us.

How come that goal was not given. Will now the media and fans of other clubs say something. People still talk about that tottenham fiasco some 8-9 seasons ago. I hope we finish off this game. No more fun please. Second half should be about business.

  114. Walata says:

Crazily entertaining 1st half. Some of our attacking play was simply exquisite but defending set plays has been our bane again. Anyone who says Lindegard commands the box better in crosses has to re-evaluate that position. He was just as indecisive as DDG IMO. Not that his defensive line helped him. Evra allowed Robson-Kanu to put in cross after cross & the man-marking at set pieces was awful.

I feel sorry for Rafael as he is the scape goat (apologies Goatinapetticoat) for SAF’s decision to field him in the 1st place against a team that looks to attack us aerially. I know he did well vs West ham but tbh he was being beaten time after time.

All in all good half with Young (yes, I said it), Rooney & Ando my men of the half. What a flick to set up RVP!

  115. zigoo says:

    costas

i agree,he works hard for the team aswell and can score the odd stunner,he can play poorly sometimes or just look clueless, but if he has the right support he can be quite creative like u said

i think today he wanted to prove some of his doubters wrong…

    lets hope he continues

  116. Andooo says:

I’m gutted about Anderson hope its not serious.

What a half! Fergie rotating the goalies fucking us again. Just stop.

  117. Mahesh says:

zigoo -simples – Rafeal was disrespectful to both SAF and kit man, deserved to have a coat thrown at him…

  118. pablo says:

wonder if disallowed goal will still be spoken about in next 7 years like pedro mendes goal at old trafford…………………..nah somehow i doubt it

  119. Proverb says:

    Fucking ridiculous tactics
Hell, fucking no, why oh why in hell is aggravating the already dire defensive crisis, why on earth is he standing in between the goal keeper, twice he was closing the view of the keeper and as unbelievable as it seems yet the keeper let him stay in front of him

    Fletcher having a stinker,

  120. Red Dead Kev says:

Hope De Gea gets a run in the team after this game. Also not good for Ando, hope he isn’t out for long or at all if we’re lucky.

  121. Walata says:

The commentators just said Anderson hurt his back

  122. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

If de gea doesn’t start against City i’m going to be fucking pissed. We did not spend 20 million pounds on a Keeper to keep him on the bench. He hasn’t started in like five straight games now. It’s fucking annoying. And Lindegaard’s decisions making has been poor in that period.

  123. parryheid says:

Have seen absolutely nothing of the game so can’t praise or criticise but if any one is shit then he will be rightly dropped.Still Skysports says were ahead so that will have to do.

  124. RedBorneo says:

I think Rafa came off not because he was a booked, its only to prevent a cross ball…

  125. Zino says:

Scott, nice pic…. Should gave been given but guess it evens itself out. Our game @ St James’ Park, anyone?

  126. georgejoseph says:

Evans is having a poor game today

  127. Robbo's red army says:

Were shit…..Fergies clueless…..gigg’s, nani’s fault. Can’t believe we don’t win every game. I’ve just about had enough of this ….I’m off to support city!!!

  128. United Till I Die says:

Apologies in advance but Jesus fucking Christ unless he got a knock Cleverley should’ve started this game, not Anderson. Yes he’s brilliant, and a game changer, and yes its nice to see dumb fucks near and far finally get that message, but why start Ando two games in a row when we all know he’s not 100% fit? I bet Mancini is happy as fuck.

Hopefully it was just a knock and we’ve taken him off as a precaution, but if its serious can we really put it down to bad luck (again) ? Now we’ve got Jones on. He’s been out all season and here he is, rushed back into a high tempo game after serious surgery. Hardly smart is it? What next is a wheelchair bound Kagawa our last substitute? Why in the fuck is Cleverley not starting when he’s sat there on the bench?

    Baffled.

  129. evisu says:

    Lindegaard….

  130. Walata says:

2 corners defended successfully… We look much better defensively in this half so far. Any confirmation of Ando’s injury?

  131. evisu says:

What Evans are doing on the pitch i dont know, he is all over the place. We need the serbian king back.

  132. Walter Mitty says:

I miss Van Der Sar’s distribution. Heck, I just miss VDS, period.

  133. Proverb says:

Lindegaard flaps at the corner he has fucking big horrendous tonight. Fuck him david is the numero uno of man utd

  134. georgejoseph says:

    very sloppy in our passing

  135. Walata says:

    @ United till I die

I have to respectfully disagree with your opinion. U play the team to win the game & Ando brings a lot more than Cleverly. I don’t believe he is any more injury prone than Cleverly & early indications suggest his injury isn’t related to a lack of fitness…a back injury

  136. parryheid says:

Question, without seeing the game. How are Reading able to get at our back line apparently so easily?

  137. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

JESUS CHRIST. HIT THE BALL FLETCHER.

  138. Walata says:

    @ Parryheid

They are utilizing their wings with Robson-Kanu their greatest threat attacking Evra. We are doing better this half

  139. Red Devil Canuck says:

    Come on. Gotta score there..

  140. matt says:

well that just about sums up today

  141. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

Ohh dear Robin. I bet he didn’t realize he could have easily taken a touch. and still finished it off.

  142. georgejoseph says:

    how did RVP miss

  143. UNITED4Life says:

    kill this game pls

  144. Walata says:

RVP misses a sitter…capitalized off a slip by Reading’s goalie but hit the ball high over

  145. Dela says:

I’m getting uncomfortable now, ESP after that rvp miss, given the other results today I have a slight sickening feeling but I’m still confident we will get the job done, but it’s annoying. Put the ball in the fucking net.

  146. Ice Cube says:

    Even the best miss.

  147. nicky says:

    missed chances fuckin hell

  148. Proverb says:

Fletcher is exhausted sub on cleverley

  149. parryheid says:

    Walata.

    Thanks for that

  150. Proverb says:

    Young you twat!

  151. va7encia says:

    any news on ando??

  152. georgejoseph says:

RVP for welbeck is a joke

  153. Hans says:

    We are living dangerously…

  154. Proverb says:

Lindegaard is time wasting, that is not united way imma tell ya

  155. zigoo says:

why does sir alex insist on playing players out of there positions??

jones is so out of his depth in midfield…he is not a mf

    and why welbeck for rvp?fukkkk

this is chichos time!!hed defo score

  156. Dela says:

Would have thought Hernandez would thrive if he came into this game.

  157. UNITED4Life says:

wrong sub..should have been cleverly for flecher

  158. Red Devil Canuck says:

That was a had tackle. Hope Jones is ok.

  159. Ice Cube says:

Fergie has been making the wrong decisions all season, but this time might be different. Its not the change most would make, that’s for sure.

  160. Ice Cube says:

    For united

  161. matt says:

    @ dela and zigoo

he probably put danny on for his height

  162. georgejoseph says:

We are so wasteful and clueless in the final third

  163. Proverb says:

Danny can’t control a bucket filled with cabbage

  164. Arthur "Two Sheds" Jackson says:

Perfect. Leave one of the hottest strikers on the bench in favor of Danny Welbeck. Makes sense to me!

  165. Walter Mitty says:

Not terribly impressed with Young’s play, it’s reminiscent of Nani at his worst – too many stepovers, too few decent passes.

  166. Proverb says:

    This is awful

  167. Kungfoocantona says:

Why did fergie not bring hernandez on who surely would have scored pr at least had a shot whoch is more than can be expected of welbeck….poor alround from fergie today just thankbthe heavens its been reading and young tvp an rooney were on the pitch…i can see a late reading goal and in honesty fergie doesnt deserve a win for his tactical farce

  168. Hans says:

Roone was wasted the second half.

  169. Kungfoocantona says:

God i will be glad to see the back of this game……providing we win

  170. Walter Mitty says:

What is it with the shambolic defending of corners?

  171. Kungfoocantona says:

The only positive to take from this game is 3 points everything else should be put inside a space ship and sent to the fucking moon

  172. parryheid says:

Reasons to be cheerful we won.
    Top with increased points lead.

Reason to be uncheerful according to the posts read we had not one decent player out there.

  173. Proverb says:

Second half was a shit performance

  174. Arthur "Two Sheds" Jackson says:

If DDG doesn’t show up on the pitch next time out there out to be a formal inquest.

  175. WeAreUnited says:

10 games this year, coming from behind. If we count coming two times today, it’s 11 haha.

I am happy, with the performance also, attacking wise, we were strong, then Ando got injured and RVP subbed. So that’s it.

    Glad that Rooney scored.

peace. 3 points and 3 points more than Shitty and next game is there.

    peace.

  176. orez says:

Another day, another win and another disappointing performance. This team has no direction, defense or style and no quality mids (which we already knew). Andy off and the game quality in the attacking half just bottomed out. Sub-s were completely useless. Jones was pathetic and I don’t think Welb touched the ball. Should be a glorious day for us considering the result, but another game that damages our confidence. SAF needs to sort this out, Vidic needs to come back with DDG.

  177. zigoo says:

    fuckin hell

    thank god for that

shambolic defending, absolutly shocking,an even worse keeper, who we might not see for a long time now…we made an average player look like messi, tormented us..

rvp missed alot which was surprising

weird decisions….why rooney was on the right and jones playing AM?

one last point …Jones is a great talent…BUT SHOULD NEVER EVER PLAY IN MIDFIELD AGAIN,JUST ANOTHER JOHN O SHEA HE IS SO OUT OF HIS DEPTH THERE HE LOOKS LIKE A FISH OUT OF WATER

    rant over

  178. RedBorneo says:

Joke of the day : Jones in the midfield…! For what…?

  179. United Till I Die says:

Crazy match. I missed the first 20 odd minutes and it was already 3-2! Rooney was putting the ball away after the Ando/Evra/Young build up for 3-3.

The lads did well get back on top, looks like we went behind twice. Baffled by the decision to start Anderson so soon after West Ham must say. Ferguson is a genius when he gets it right, and since we’ve got the result you’d have to say he got it right again today. But not starting or bringing on Cleverley is odd to put it tactfully. Fucking odd. I hope Ando is fit for City, but even more than that I hope the line up today isn’t an indication that we’ll be fielding a “conservative” team next weekend.

Who wants to bet Scholes and Giggs start?

  180. Hans says:

Another three points with yet another rubbish performance. Cannot believe we cannot finish off a team like Reading!

What was the point of bring Wellbeck for RvP? Jones had very little impact as well. first half young did OK, second half he faded as well. Rooney was wasted on the wing! And Lindegard, surely after this DdG will be restored as our No 1 goal keeper.

We cannot perform like this in the Council House!!!!

  181. zigoo says:

makes u wonder what the 2 muppets who r the assistant managers do..

playing players out of position and no tactical nous whatsoever

  182. Costas says:

Got the impression that the second half was a test ahead of the City game. God knows we can’t defend at the Etihad like we did in the first half today.

What worries me is that Fergie’s selections cause more problems than solutions. Our shape and our midfield changes from game to game. I am not sure we can strike the right balance quick enough for the City game.

    @parry

Nah, the front 3 did just fine. Our best players really. Caused havoc in the first half, did the best they could with limited amount of possession in the second. Other than those 3, the others had a mixed bag.

  183. parryheid says:

No need then to have a dispute about top player tonight then.

  184. lawman10 says:

that bloody awful, do they coach this team?
we cannot go on playing this way…………………………..number 20 is there for the taking if we can cut out
    the errors.
beat the shite next week and we are six points clear…………………fingers crossed.

  185. samuel - united WE stand says:

United are clearly trying to go gung-ho to win this season. City are next in the league and those blues have a forward line to do some serious damage. United really have to cut out these self inflicted errors or it will be a long day at the etihad, on a ground city don’t lose.

One thing i hope for is anderson being fit for the city game, he’s in teriffic form at the moment, he’d be a big miss. Just hope he’s okay.

  186. United Till I Die says:

@Walata – Right, because your back is independent from the the rest of your body init?

Come on, if Anderson cannot complete 90 mins, but he’s still playing back to back games a few days apart, his muscles/joints/ligaments are more likely to suffer an injury are they not? Just like if you drink/smoke/have insufficient sleep and food every day, you are more likely to catch every infection, bug and flu floating through the air.

We’re all speculating, but if you’re carrying a knock or have pain in your knees it can effect your posture/gait/stride and that is enough to cause back problems, even if you’re just popping to the shops or walking up some stairs, never mind running and jumping about for 90 mins. Starting a player who is less than 100% fit increases his chances of worsening the injury or causing a new one, end of.

Call me crazy, but a player who cannot finish 90 mins shouldn’t be starting 2 games in less than 7 days when we’ve got City next week. Especially when we have a talented player like Cleverley on the bench. Thats just my opinion mate and thats all I was saying.

I think we’ve got the players to win this match without Anderson. I’d have rather seen Rafa on the right and Young on the left with Tom and Carrick in the middle. Anything would’ve been better than starting a clearly knackered player yet to fully recover from surgery.

Lets hope this alleged “back injury” is all cleared up by next week when we really need him to start. Btw I saw him get the injury. He got a knock on the edge of the box and took his time getting up, after that he was subbed. Didn’t initially look like a back problem, but if his spine got a jolt from the fall he should hopefully be available for City. It was still risky starting him imo but Fergie is where he is due to taking risks. Swings and roundabouts. 3 points is 3 points.

  187. Costas says:

Samuel has said this before, but today proved again that Jones doesn’t have a future in midfield. Doesn’t look natural there at all. I would have understood if he was brought on to sit in front of the defence. But for the role he was asked to play, Clev or Giggs were by far the better options.

  188. RedBorneo says:

    United till i die,
I want to bet scholes, giggsy and ferguson in the midfield next week, its truly conservative.. LOL…

  189. Rohan_19 says:

    That game was fucking funny..
To list our bad performers today,
Lindegard rafael evans rio smalling fletcher carrick rooney young jones rvp

    Fletcher specifically was awful

  190. TraffordLord says:

Will take the points. Ghastly performances by Lindy, Ferdinand, Evans and Sir Alex. Horrendous sub decisions (except Smalling), obviously with the derby in mind…but if Reading tied late from another set piece, Mancini would have had us for lunch next Sunday. Jones is not a midfielder, we can retire that wet dream. Shambolic defending, equally bad technical adjustments.

  191. Rohan_19 says:

If we play like this next weekend, we will conceede more than six…
But we’ll definitely score more than 1

  192. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

We Need to build a LITERAL brick wall in front of our goal posts next week cuz with this kind of defending, I’m just trying to wrap my head around how we can keep Them from not scoring. We’ll just have to score more than them then and even that is not an easy task. I wish Anderson the speediest of recoveries. We need him BADLY in this team. CLEARLY our best midfielder when on form. Would have loved to see him in a big test against City next week. Hopefully Cleverley gets some game time next week and not scholes or giggs cuz I know fergie is tempted to do just that.

  193. samuel - united WE stand says:

“a team like reading” this is the type of comment that baffles. I know united were poor defensively but yet again, this is another of the incredible battle the PL is. You turn up with less than 100% and you get found out. What i’ve noticed this season is, teams are going all out attack rather than respecting their opponents and sitting back. Reading were akways going to be a tough team, especially at the madejski but goodness, united need to improve.

  194. Dela says:

Well it’s three points. The second half was nowhere near as lively as the first. Have to remember United played only on Wednesday. Same with City, they were extremely poor today, and so were Everton.

The good from the game today is Ashley Young had an impact again, even if he did fade in the second half, his ball through for Anderson was wonderful and his cross for our disallowed goal was inch perfect. He needs to keep working since we don’t have Nani or Valencia to do a job on the wings.

Anderson’s goal was lovely, but the bad of the day was the same old story for him, taken off injured. Not sure why Fergie went for Jones to replace him, I guess he felt Jones would be a presence for set pieces.

Fletcher with another 90 minutes today, well done lad! Rooney scored twice so pat on the back for him too.

The bad of the game is obvious. Why the fuck was Evra planted between Roberts and Lindegaard? Firstly, he was actually obstructing Lindegaard, not protecting him. Secondly, Evra is about half the size of Roberts, if somebody has to muscle Roberts away from the goalkeeper then put someone taller and stronger there please. I thought that when Smalling made an entrance for Rafa, it was exactly for that reason, but when they got another corner, Evra did exactly the same thing, and nobody… particularly not Lindegaard… told him otherwise.

Also, I am not hating on Welbeck but I have no idea why he was given the nod over Hernandez to come on late. It’s over an hour in, everyone is noticeably tired, so why not throw on Chico and let Rooney, Fletcher, Carrick and Young try to help him beat the offside? Welbeck barely got a touch, I’d be surprised if he moved 10 yards with the ball at his feet. I’m not hating on him, but if you aren’t playing Cleverley due to poor form, then why is Welbeck still getting the nod, especially when it was just a single goal in the balance.

I really really at the end had a feeling it would end 4-4, just because of the results earlier today. I’d have been like a dog if we failed to gain anything at all at our rivals’ expense.

All that being said, I’m not as concerned about next week as most. City are unbeaten yes.. and for a long time at home in particular… but they aren’t playing well either. They don’t want to play us next just as much as we don’t want to play them. Personally, I’d put on all the reserves etc. vs. Cluj mid-week and rest everyone ahead of next Sunday. I think the firepower we have should be enough to hold off City next week. One little thing I’m slightly nervous about is if Fergie decides to take a gamble on Vidic after what he saw today and it backfires.

  195. nadzfire says:

Fergie..Please PLEASE buy a midfielder. I can’t say this enough times. The second Anderson was taken off we were overrun.

I hope this rumor about Fergie wanting to get Sneijder isn’t true. That would just be spunking whatever remaining funds we have for positions that we already have covered.

  196. Dela says:

@dannysoya – we WON’T keep them from scoring next week. They are at home, they’ll score at least one. We need our attacking players to put up just as much as the defense, and I actually think RvP, Rooney and Hernandez can deliver it for us, even though I doubt Hernandez will start.

  197. Mr C says:

3 points away, top of the league, our rivals are doing worse…chill out people.

  198. chichagiggs says:

it’s going to be funny to see what the likes of barca, madrid and dortmund do to us in Europe. This team cannot play to win in Europe. Major re-shuffling needed.

  199. Dela says:

@Mr C –> Aye, we won the game, so we need to keep that in mind all the time. I really don’t care what our performance looks like next week as long as we don’t lose. Even if that means we get a draw from the luckiest, jammiest chance you’ve ever seen, and City hit the post 10 times, have major decisions against them and so on.. i don’t care as long as we don’t lose and surrender the top of the league. Get through City at the Etihad, that will mean we’ve already played at Anfield, Stamford Bridge and the Etihad and it’s not even Christmas, and that’s far more important than people might think.

  200. United Till I Die says:

Chelski lose, CIty drop points, and United slug it out to win 3-4, can’t ask for more than that. Well you could but you’d be a greedy bastard haha.

Im just glad my whole weekend isn’t fucked by us dropping points. Instead we’re going into the derby with the points advantage we need. Just a shame the performance wasn’t as sweet as the result.

Fingers crossed the news tomorrow will be that Anderson is fine. Surely Cleverley has to start in midweek if we want him any closer to match fitness? He hasn’t had a problem seeing out 90 mins this season so a performance in Europe should see him start on Sunday, thats plenty of time to recover. God knows whats going on in Fergie’s mind but he’ll need his thinking cap on for our next EPL game.

  201. va7encia says:

damn watching mutv ando done his hammy so he’ll miss city game

  202. Mr C says:

@chicagiiggs….agreed Europe is another story altogether.

  203. Robbo's red army says:

Were top…. Won 4-3 away. I remember winning the title with tons of 1 nil wins. Bet u lot would moan at that an all.

  204. Walata says:

We played better defensively after Smalling & Jones came on. Of course our attacking play was always gonna suffer with a midfield trio of Fletcher,Carrick & Jones. Like most on here I thought the Welbeck sub was wrong as he didn’t provide anything going forward….would have preferred to bring Giggs/Cleverly on and move Young right behind Rooney in a more central role.

  205. Proverb says:

United have been awful since Anderson had to come off. Coincidence, I think not. Fucking hell
    Hell, hell, holy shit
It takes both carrick and fletcher 50 seconds to get the ball out of defense, ando did that in only 5, by himself, coincidence?

  206. Proverb says:

United have been awful since Anderson had to come off. Coincidence, I think not. Fucking hell
    Hell, hell, holy shit
It takes both carrick and fletcher combined 50 seconds to get the ball out of defense, ando did that in only 5secs, by himself, coincidence?

  207. Voice of reason says:

God we are poor – all the too sides have major flaws as do we – fergie is exacerbating them – why lindegaard ? Why? Moving Rooney all over the place, no powerhouse in midfield who can be trusted – our best winger marginalised – no defined role for kagawa – we have no idea what our best team and formation is and we have played 20 games this season

  208. parryheid says:

Wont happen cause Fergie is too busy kidding us on we have all we need already at the club, but in January I would like us to buy a brick shithouse the size of Smalling and the build of Valencia as ugly as sin with hardly any teeth like Joe Jordan. An immovable object that doesn’t mind trampling over players and stick him in the centre of our midfield forget the class get a brute.with a bit of pace and stopping power.

  209. Proverb says:

I’m too pissed now so I think I might be exaggerating but if we bought a decent miffielder might be helping the form of rooney cause at the moment they bring wasted, you could see how good they were when played with the right players that first half regardless, was a joy to watch attacking wise, even our scapegoats could save their skin. Soo please, let’s buy one established midfielder we can’t keep on relying on luck

  210. Proverb says:

Sir Alex confirms that Anderson will be out for ‘a couple of weeks’ after being forced off due to a hamstring injury.

A couple of weeks means a couple of months if not seasons

  211. United24 says:

I am worried about the sort of team fergie will bring out against city. It is clear that on average, our best team this season has been: VDG. Rafael, Evra, any 2 of our 5 central defenders, one winger, Carrick or Fletcher, any 2 of Anderson, kagawa and cleverly, Rooney and VanPersie. Granted that ando and kagawa are injured, we have a void to fill. For me it should be either chicarito with Rooney dropping to attacking midfield, or fletcher along carrick with cleverly attacking.

We always need at least one central midfielder literally carrying the ball to our distinguished forwards. please no scholes, giggs or jones in this game!

  212. Jay says:

Phil Jones has said time and time again that he is a defender not a midfielder, why buy someone if you are not going to use them in their correct position. I was hoping to see Hernandez come on instead of Welbeck but oh well, I guess Ferguson is trying to keep players happy. I expected us to win this easy, like someone said already teams no longer fear us, our defense is routinely bombarded because the midfield cannot keep the ball. Team used to be fearful of us and this helped the team as the opposition team would be anxious. Barcelona have this, Manchester United used to have it but now teams are confident they can get something and who can blame them when our midfield and defense is suspect.
Where is Carlos Quieroz we could really do with his expertise in defense.

  213. denton davey says:

Proverb @ 21:19: “United have been awful since Anderson had to come off.”

Let’s not forget that even when Anderson was on the pitch, UTD were playing with ten men and Ashley Young. The aforesaid Mr Young is just awful – Bebe couldn’t be worse.

  214. Costas says:

Yeah, he only set up 2 goals.

  215. Marq says:

Yeah, Young is so shit that 2 of our goals came from his side, and would have been 3 if not for the disallowed goal.

  216. tom c says:

thought Young played decent. what. Ando was top notch tonight. when will my namesake get a fucking start.
