United team to face City: De Gea, Rafael, Ferdinand, Jones, Evra, Carrick, Cleverley, Fellaini, Mata, Welbeck, Rooney.

SO a 433? Fellaini topping the diamond

Welbeck adding speed and Mata a bir composure, looks good, feeling this line-up, a shame relally that Kagawa is not in the starting line-up, but I like this”CMON

  2. Dan Young says:

weareunited – im guessing 4-3-1-2 with mata topping the diamond and welbeck running the channels to help with width.

people will say shit about cleverley but this is actually very promising. normally moyes is known for wanting to over load the wings but all our width will be coming from our full backs with us playing through the middle (hopefully straight at demichelis!). not getting hopes anywhere near up but has potential to be a turning point in fortunes

  3. ashtheking says:

This is a 433 so this should be good. This is a perfect opportunity for cleverley to prove his worth . I want to see him shine Ina three man midfield. Exciting stuff, happy moyes is trying something different.lets see how we fare with this.

  4. united till i die says:

    Unbelievable line up.

  5. WeAreUnitedd says:

    united til i die

in a good or bad way?

danyoung you could be right, but for me this is a 322 mata and welbeck beind narrow but welbz maybe playing more wide

whichever it is, I liek this, a bit surprising but I like this and Clevs CMON BOY do this! this is made for you

  6. Gary Mitrovic says:

I think we’re in for a convincing defeat to be fair. I hope I’m wrong, let’s see how it plays out.

  7. GingerPrince18 says:

Like the line up. 4312 I guess with Mata as a playmaker. I think Welbeck will attack their weak link (Dimechelis). Wary of City line up too as Evra is facing Navas’ pace.

  8. Fletch™ says:

For my money, you have to control the MF.

Fellaini to sit on Toure for the match would not go amis.

Cautiously optimistic. Loads of contracts sorted and cloud lifting from the team.
All hands to the pumps lads.

3 home losses to City is NOT what you want in the record books.

On our day, we can beat anyone. I like our chances.
Ref will be crucial. We haven’t had good luck with refs, that is part of our problem this season.

Time to turn it round. It starts tonight!

  9. RepeatOf99 says:

Who the hell in that line-up is going to play the ball through to our front three?

Against Olympiakos, we used Welbeck and Rooney to do the running; with Giggs spraying them balls forward.

This somehow imagines that Cleverley can do anything more than ‘keep possession’….

So, no natural width……no creativity in the middle……this should be good alright.

  10. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

Cleverley’s best performances have been in a three man midfield so I expect him to play well tonight. If he can’t perform in a three man midfield for us then he can’t be here much longer. It’s the most conducive formation for him and I expect him to play well.

  11. RepeatOf99 says:

Yeah, we should definitely structure our team around the raw natural talent that is Tom Cleverley!

  12. Dan Young says:

repeatof99 – what are you even talking about? carrick had the highest forward passing success in the entire world last season. do you really think none of those midfielders are capable of passing a ball forwards? get off the bandwagon

  13. Mav says:

    Cleverly eh

  14. RepeatOf99 says:

    @Dan Young

Remind me again, how many assists did he get with all of that wonderful passing percentage statistics?

  15. Rukky E. Atebefia says:

*Confused* So we’ve been keeping Clevz for the derby? Good line up, at least young isn’t starting; realistically no lineup was gonna match the oppositions team sheet anyways. The word today is BELIEVE. GGMU

  16. Dan Young says:

we won the league with him starting nearly every game. who gives a fuck about assists!

stats are almost completely pointless when comparing players or ozil and mata would be seen as the best midfielders in the world rather then xavi and iniesta. and stats would make sturridge the best striker on the planet right now, followed by suarez!

  17. George73H says:

Cleverly and Carrick?? ” English players that dont play for Englan!! Cant get in the team yet waltz into ours…And can we sell Nani…If you have NO intention to play someone sell them! Save the wages, save the money! I like him but whats the point…..oh and #/moyesout

  18. WeAreUnitedd says:

considering Cleverleys form this seaosn, no wonder people are confused, but this does not mean he can’t do the job

He was one of the focal points last season in big ggames

    anyway BELIEVE!

  19. Fletch™ says:

    Moyes on MUTV

Moyes: “Going with 3 in midfield tonight”

  20. RepeatOf99 says:

There is so much wrong with you comment, I am not sure where to begin…

but let’s take the most obvious one:

We are nowhere near the same team as last year! Not even recognisable in any shape, way or form to them. The same players have not been performing for whatever reason you choose to believe……but even last year, even under the greatest manager ever, and even when we walked the league….that was in no way whatsoever because of Cleverley! If you believe that, you may as well give Moyes a 10 year contract.

  21. Blacksocks says:

I worry Moyes will play this as a 451 with Mata and Welbz out wide on the right and left respectively. That – in my opinion – will leave Rooney isolated unless Cleverley and Fellaini can get up to him. We’ll see but I’m worried, the City team looks very strong and we’ll do well not to get beaten tonight.

  22. Dan Young says:

where do i protect cleverley in my comment that has so much wrong with it?

and where do i say we are the same as last year?

im saying the players are still capable of their qualities they had last year meaning carrick is capable of passing forwards. which is what your first bullshit comment was about

whats even more laughable is i havnt even mentioned cleverley in my comments apart from when i said people will say the line up is shit cause it has cleverley in it!

get off your fucking high horse and read a comment before you give it a shit reply. and stop thinking your so right. you say my comment has nothing right with it then your arguement is about nothing i said!

also its ‘way, shape or form’

  23. Blacksocks says:

Paul Scholes “If you pay 27 million for a midfielder then I expect goals”

  24. Blacksocks says:

Interesting to see Scholes on the TV tonight, never thought he would be one to appear in the tv studio much. He’s now saying Mata should not play out wide and he’s “amazed” Valencia isn’t starting down the right. Thinks we lack pace!

  25. Rukky E. Atebefia says:

We are united u need to really stop with that ‘last season champs’ thing we are nothing lyk last season please. The hope I have in this game is the drive of the players and nothing more. If any thing u think we are gonna see a very negative and safe game today, but I hope I’m proved wrong.

  26. RepeatOf99 says:

What the fuck are you talking about?

I was criticising Cleverley and the creativity he offers our midfield when you chimed in with your Carrick bullshit.

Of course the players are capable of what they were doing last season….but not playing inept tactics that try and make them something they are not.

If you think Carrick is going to be the replacement for Giggs in this formation then you are in dreamland.

He has packed the midfield with as many as he can, to try and stifle City. But that leaves us with nothing going forward whatsoever.

and I try not to take too much grammar advice from anyone who spells haven’t without the ‘e’, you patronising idiot

  27. Blacksocks says:

Scholes has been very diplomatic, perhaps more so than my previous posts suggest, but I get the disinct impression he would have picked a different lineup and approached the match in a different way.

  28. Rukky E. Atebefia says:

Scholes obviously knows better about the united approach

  29. Dan Young says:

firstly, it wasnt grammar advice (another thing you got wrong). it was telling you how to put a well known saying right.

he hasnt packed the midfield. he has played a 3 man midfield with 2 box to box midfielders and has rooney and welbeck in attack that can run at citys defence anytime it gets to mata as he will find them

carrick is evidently more then capable at being a deep lying midfielder that can pass balls forwards to the attacking players, its not just giggs in our team that is capable of that!

im not supporting the tactics, infact i have slated the tactics for the past month or so.

actually you said ‘Who the hell in that line-up is going to play the ball through to our front three’. carrick is in that line-up and had the highest forward passing success rate in the world last year so my answer to you is that he can. so its not carrick bullshit its a valid point. and as you said ‘Of course the players are capable of what they were doing last season’ then im going to take it that you clearly deep down agree with me, you just confuse yourself easily

i look forward to your reply erez xxx

  30. Mark Reid says:

Surprised to seeCleverly there he has been awful all year.

  31. RepeatOf99 says:

Think about this logically…..if he hasn’t gotten any assists, then all of his ‘forward passes’ don’t mean an awful lot in terms of where our goals are going to come from!

You say stats are completely pointless and then keep bringing up his forward passing success rate! Who cares?

  32. RepeatOf99 says:

Oh and well done for figuring out my name btw…..i’m sure that it was the same clearly superior intellect and investigative prowess that led you to defend these shit tactics!

  33. iamMatty says:

Yup carrick has been spraying those passes this year right?
He always looks like 80yards away from rooney and co, who inturn have to drop so deep to get a feel of the ball.
Our manager has set us up for negativity and containment, which could be acceptable if we were actually looking to stifle city and hold on to first position in the table.
Only positive is atleast it doesn’t look like a 4-4-2, and yeah #freeShinji

  34. RepeatOf99 says:

Well, I guess I must hold my hands up and admit that I was wrong tonight then.

Carrick’s forward passing success rate really cut into that City defence and fed our front 3.

In no way did Moyes flood the midfield with crap like Carrick, Fellaini and Cleverley in a weak-minded and mid table mentality way to try and suppress a top team. That 3 man midfield with 2 box to box midfielders just dominated!

can’t wait for your reply dan xxx

  35. Matthew Fairclough says:

Basically most people agree that the team under Moyes sucks and he needs to fuck off. If this sounds familiar to you then get this petition signed and share the fuck out of it
