  1. Gav Brooker says:

    Giggs, ughhh.

  2. TopRed123 says:

I really can’t see how our approach (and performance) will differ from the first leg when we are basically playing the same shit again. You fail spectacularly with you approach, what do you do? Exactly the same again. Go figure.

  3. BenjieTee says:

how do you thrash a team with this lineup?..giggs n carrick?..ah well…each mediocre selection will hopefully convince everyone moyes needs to be sacked.

  4. Only 1 Utd says:

Januzaj should have started for Valencia.

  5. united till i die says:

Zero fucking mobility in central midfield. How can you at giggs ahead of fletcher and fellaini

  6. RDK says:

Don’t really know what this is meant to be if it isn’t 442. 433 maybe? But with Rooney making up the 3rd man in midfield? I know Valencia has played CM a few times for Ecquador but really, this line up threatens to be overrun in midfield again and relies on Rooney being able to be that 3rd man and creator. Something he has been struggling with of late/all seasons in terms of being able to link the midfield effectively.

  7. RDK says:

    all season*

  8. UnitedFaithful says:

Looks like a tailor made line up designed for this fixture,Hope Moyes knows what he is doing.

  9. denislawking says:

Haven’t commented for a long while. Think it’s depression. Been a fan since ’63 hence reference to King Denis. Personally I was devastated when Moyes got the job. He hasn’t done much to remove my skepticism. Enough has been said about the state of the team and their performances. I sit as an outsider and wonder what on earth is going on behind closed doors. Yes it’s a new manager. Chelsea have had how many different managers in the past six years? It hasn’t stopped that juggernaut winning trophy after trophy. I wouldn’t mind losing if we looked like a coherent team. Okay, enough moaning. Let’s get behind the lads tonight and see if we can create a positive piece of history. As for the atmosphere at OT – it was a whole lot better in the sixties IMO.

  10. RDK says:

BBC have it down as Mata on the bench as a sub lol

  11. Jino Moja says:

And Moyes goes for a 4-4-2.
Goodbye Champion’s league. Let’s meet again in 18 months.

  12. Fletch™ says:

Struggling with the bench lads. 8O

Anyone else convinced Rio and Jones can make it through a full match?…… erm besides Moyes.

    Shocking bench!
    Not a single defender!

  13. Robert Jensen says:

Keep the faith friends, no matter opinion on Moyes.
Aint his best friend either. Stand by our team and hope for Barca Next.

  14. dromole says:

If the shape is a flat 4-4-2 again, then I’d say goodbye to UCL and hopefully Moyes too.
Might be interesting though, if some other shape. Say 4-3-3 or the diamond? One can hope.

  15. RDK says:

I’m sure Fellaini could do a shift there if need be, though I hope not.

  16. Rukky E. Atebefia says:

Can’t wait for young to come on for giggs lata on. But in all seriousness I think anything is possible in this match. If moyes actually had fight in him, he would focus his energy to the CL and play his best instead of the EPL. Ggmu

  17. united till i die says:

Good thing about playing wellbeck wide left is he has no left foot so don’t need to worry about him launching crosses in all game long.

  18. chimshira says:

as has been all year, i will give Moyes the benefit of the doubt… agree with Fletch though – no defenders on the bench??!?!?!?

  19. Fletch™ says:

RDK, My sources all have Mata and Vidic as rested.

    Scotts list looks right:

    Starting XI via Jack Holt:

de Gea Rafael, Jones, Ferdinand, Evra
    Valencia, Carrick, Giggs, Welbeck
    van Persie

Subs: Lindegaard, Fellaini, Hernandez, Fletcher, Januzaj, Kagawa, Young

  20. Traffordium says:

Well people to be honest I don’t expect us to do anything magical really but If the lads can do us supporters a favor and bloody perform then I wont have a bad taste in my mouth when the match is done.Moyes……I know this might be hopeless but all the best. And look confident for a change

  21. ashtheking says:

Ok guys it pains to me to say this but this selection proves that kagawa’s career at United is all but surely over. I don’t know what problem moyes has with kagawa. With all players available I see a 40 year old legend in our midfield. I don’t want to sound a jerk but why is always that giggs gets to play in champions league, last year against Madrid , final against barca and now when he has hardly featured whole season here he is again. Someone trying to break records!. I don’t know what the hell is Ferdinand doing. Another player who was sidelined gradually for good by moyes and now he is also back,

I still think we should overturn this 2-0 maybe I am too optimistic but I hope we do for the sake of our club.

  22. Koketso Brian Kupe says:

You need three goals and you have practically no way of linking midfield to attack? This line up on paper will create 2-3 half chances in a match. I hope I’m wrong.

  23. Fletch™ says:

    Manchester United Injury Update:

David Moyes: “Vida has a groin strain”

  24. Traffordium says:

rooney goal drought at ot since october.Should bloody break that

  25. chimshira says:

watching our defense all season, and especially at OT, it will be hard to keep the goal dry. in my mind the question is can we score 4?

  26. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

What’s the point of complaining about line-ups when the man is set in his ways and refuses to change. Roll on the fucking game please. I hope we are able to stay in the competition for the extra money and nothing more.

  27. Aaron Soares says:

hoping for the best . Attack attack attack . its now or never for Valencia n Giggs after tonight !!

  28. DeGeaWeTrust says:

It does not matter what team we play, if tactics are not up to speed, results will continue to disappoint

  29. united till i die says:

Carrick better show some fucking urgency in midfield instead of standing still like a fucking statue when he receives the ball.

  30. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

BE URGENT. Carrick stop spending five hours on the ball. LOOK UP BEFORE you pick up the ball so that when you get it, you already have a plan in your head. We have to be quick on the ball because trust me Olympiakos know fully well that all they have to do is not concede two goals and they are through. We have to move the ball quickly to stand any chance. PLEASE don’t make this harder than it has to be. try and restore some of the pride of this club FFS.

  31. BenjieTee says:

guys…smell d coffee..with this lineup we surely wont be scoring three goals..our best performances in ucl have been with kagawa included..but moyes has totally destroyed this player’s confidence..dont expect any miracles..

  32. Aaron Soares says:

lets support the team guys !

  33. tomtruered says:

Did we sell Nani during the January transfer window? Please answers

  34. Koketso Brian Kupe says:

Young warming up. Olympiakos are fucked. 7-0 to united

  35. tomtruered says:

O boy. Are we there yet?

  36. Aaron Soares says:

yes yes 2 more pls for UTD . Giggs you beauty !

  37. Will Devine says:

I guess picking Giggs wasn’t as bad as alot of these comments believed..

  38. Bijay Malla says:

Our Manager Mr. David Moyes does not even the knack of selecting 11 players, Time and again Tom Cleverly has failed us and yet Moyes still has faith in him. Fellaini is a terrible waste of money. Moyes has miserably failed to unite and motivate the team. There are many fans like me in Kathmandu, Nepal who are totally fed up with this comedian called Moyes. Frankly speaking, I do not remember the last time we have been in a situation like this for a very long time, There is no way out for us is there ?
