Rafael and Evra getting deserved rests.
my word that is an attacking lineup!!
heres to a 15 points lead!
Come on United! Lets get Danny boy on the scoresheet!
Hmm, rotated the midfield a bit more than I thought he would. Hoepfully this line up will be enough to see us through comfortably.
Happy match day all!
Great opportunity to hammer it home today,
ForzaUtd!
Nice to see Büttner in the starting eleven! Other than that, hope Chicharito gets 30 min at least!
Bench: Lindegaard, Carrick, Evans, Valencia, Hernandez, Powell, Kagawa
United minus Carrick is not my favorite lineup but we are at home and could lea the league with 15 points so no worry.moreover I guess the lad need a rest.
Wins for Southampton and Villa. Rockets up the arse for Reading…
This is a poor team.
I would have liked to see a full strength team to punish Citeh for their slip up. I know. We have an unassailable lead but it sets a good president … you stumble = we punish you.
Chris Smalling is not a right back he will constantly waste possession, not his fault.
Alexander Buttner is just not good enough.
Ryan Giggs is better played wide.
Danny Wellbeck should be played as a striker.
What the hell are we resting Evra and Rafael for ? … the next game that means anything isn’t until next month at the Bridge.
What has happened to Jonny Evans over the last month or so ?
Our most in-form striker can’t get a start even against Reading. Six measly starts all season so long for Hernandez.
Just has not been treated fairly this season.
correction: ll season long
Fxxk ando to defense hope reading attack like shit
Fxxk ando to defense hope reading attack like shit
Costas – I think rafeal and evra are overdue a rest, they looked fucked against chelsea, as they were exposed out wide, only little concern is? resting carrick, but the side has been well overdue freshening up, as carrick rafeal evra have played none stop
@Daniel88
Fergie said last weeks that the fullbacks were knackered. Doesn’t matter when the next ‘big’ game is, if they’re going to fade after 60 mins it’s not worth playing them. We know Buttner isn’t the best, and Smalling might not match Rafael getting forward, but I trust him defensively against a team like Reading. Don’t forget that they’re big on crosses and have great set-piece deliveries from Shorey, so Smalling’s height will help us out in that respect.
@ Daniel88 – wtf are you talking about weak team?
Giggs is on form and Anderson is fresh. Carrick and Cleverley need rest. So does
Rafael and Evra have played more games than most United players. It’s a strong team and United should win by 4 or 5 goals. Welbeck CAN play on the wing and as a striker. Valencia is not on form and we need people who will put a shift in and attack defenders. Welbeck can do this.
No worries just one thing who will play wide rooney or danny other than that no problem just thrash reading we are going to take our championship back in absolutely in style and hopefully even more c’mon lads just get on up and running again GGMU!!!!!!
reaaallly want RVP to score today, get back some form ahead of some crucial games
Some of our 1st team players have to be absolutely knackered. The likes of carrick, Rafael, evra and v. Persie have played so many games and participated in all competitions that they deserve a break. I’m not sure why nani and chicha are not playing.
Fucking welbeck playing?
saf must have lost his mind
@ Nairobired mate nani is Injured again hopefully gets back soon fergie told that its not as,serious so he will be back in two weaks time after the sunderland game
@In David We Trust
Yep. Especially with those players out on international duty for the next 2 weeks. I do wish we had this fixture right after the international break instead of Sunderland away, but it does leave room for some freshening up.
Nobody noticed Powell,I’m glad he’s with the team and I hope he gets some time on the pitch.carrick, evra,Rafael all rested , I hope things turn out good,Apart from that it looks like a very attacking side even if smalling is on for Rafael
@wazza
What the fuck are you on about?
Lets get three first half goals and then rest few players!!!!
Costas – only resting carrick worries me, but we have giggs welbeck young rooney RVP, so that is allot of movement, and ability to score goals. I do not see a problem, its not a weakened team when you have DDG ferdinand vidic welbeck giggs rooney and RVP starting, it is just adding more of the squad players who can slot straight in, with this amount of experience starting
Why am I not surprised with this line up
Hopefully RVP will score, he needs it.
Cleverly drop/ rest. Strong squad however dangerous for changing so many players.
Lets see how well we play.
@ kanchelskis
They haven’t played since last Sunday which is 5 full days to rest.
Chris Smalling will be better defensively … obviously … but he will suck the life out of our attacking football.
@ KVN
I made no mention of Anderson his inclusion would be fine but we are also playing Giggs out of position and that midfield too is less than convincing. Carrick, Cleverley, Evra and Rafael have not played for 5 days. Our squad isnt strong enough to play such a weak team and win by four or five unfortunately. Just because somebody CAN play in that position doesn’t mean he should Wellbeck is not a left midfielder.
@ Daniel,
Please shut your fucking mouth. Let them show you something before you blasting on them..!
I cant understand why there are so many moaners out there , esp Daniel 88, this is reading team with no manager (no disrespect to them) on the whole the players out there are all top class.
Evra, rafael, carrick need rest , nani is injured.. Ppl moaning about welbeck still? i dont understand their logic behind it ..
Leeds, City, Liverpool all loosing, doesn’t get much fucking better than that. A trio of the most hated scum to all United fans. If we can get three points against Reading then surely that’s the title in the bag. Come on united.
Excellent opportunity too for RVP to remind everyone of his goal scoring prowess and get back on top of the capocannoniere chart, particularly as that buck-toothed racist kunte failed to add to his tally for the dippers today!
Some people here are just losing their sanity!!!
Please whatever prejudice you have against a particular player, you can make your point retrospectively after the game, don’t make any presumptive prediction before the kick off!!!damn we were under a lot of pressure last week, we all need a break here.
5 days? Not that long at all when you look at the number of minutes they’ve played in all competitions recently.
@ RedBorneo
How does go fuck yourself sound ?
MATCH WATCH : Good passing move spoiled when Smalling hammers the ball out of play looking for Young on a diagonal
We need to stop wit the high aimless balls. Keep it on the ground and get Van Persie involved with some touches. All these long aimless balls are keeping him isolated.
BOOM!!!! FANTASTIC run from Rio. That was the Rio of old.
Goal from Rooney
… lucky because he was unable to control the ten seconds before losing the ball and stopping the move.
Hopefully we can get a decent lead quickly and give Powell some well earned minutes on the pitch!
any live streaming links please?
I love how Daniel88 has decided he knows more about what a players feeling in terms of fitness than Fergie and the coaches, it’s their job to man-manage and they know what’s up. Tired passes and fatigue were apparent against Chelsea and if they need more than 5 days according to the fitness coaches and to Fergie than shut up, accept it and support your team instead of spewing hate before kick-off
We are spoilt fans, all they’ve treated us to is challenging for trophies god knows what some of you would be like if we were struggling.
Come on lads we can do better than this. We are a bit too complacent. We need at least another goal!!!
@five
If Rafael and Cleverley both under 25 cant handle playing one game and then another 5 days later then there is something seriously wrong.
Is Welbeck our new headless chicken?
Complacency is setting in yet again. What is wrong with getting a second goal and finishing off this game now? We are making them grow in confidence.
Fergie should let Mike try having a go at the hair-drier for once. Yes they are quite poor, but it only takes one crazy moment or them to equalise
If I was Fergie I would demand strong start in the second half, get another goal or two and then see the match out!!!!
We are making it far too easy for their defence!!!!
Wellbeck is still a big question mark for me,I don’t understand Ferguson obession with this lad and,is RVP playing? …
I cant believe Chicha is out! He deserves a better treatment seriously! Against this team and he cant make it to the starters????
happy
@Daniel88
You prat. It’s not about two games in isolation. It’s about (in the case of Rafael) a whole season of bombing up and down the flank for almost all of our games. Fatigue is cumulative – are you not even aware of that basic fact?
@kanchelskis,
You are wasting your time ..
I know everybody will say thats 3 points won ( come full time ) but for fucks sake why are we
making such had work of this game? Reading are shite & going down.
the midfield we have put out is poor, piss poor.
come on United Fucking score some goals.
@ziggy
RVO was in great positions on couple of occasions but the final ball was not there.
When Young took that shot RVP was completely unmarked and if he gets the ball it is a simple tap in!
We should secure the match and then few players who are desperate to score can try their luck!
Wellbeckstats…I agree with you, I’m starting to think that it is true that Chicha is leaving this summer, nobody with his skills can keep warming the bench when he could have more chances in any other team,I feel bad for the lad.
kanchelskis – the real madrid defeat I said could really mentally tire united in the next few games, and it has. You can see today, the legs feel heavy physically and emotionally, its a big kick in the teeth losing in the way they did against Madrid, so its gonna feel bad, I feel by the time sunderland comes around, the side will have regenerated, but also the boss needs to use more of his squad, and bringing back smallen butner etc has been a smart move, so he is doing that, that’s why we have a squad. It has not been great today, but so far so good, he just makes me laugh, lucky with the deflection, even though rooney brought the ball down just after he shot. Lampard made a great career, oh it was a deflection, but the strikers have got to be in that position to do that, and rooney has been. If it was lucky, I do not se RVP and welbeck in that position, only rooney could have done that
@ kanchelskis
Then he is not fit enough. If you cannot play after five days rest despite playing alot beforehand then that is not acceptable. He plays for the best team in the league who have most possession in most games too. There is this myth that footballers need to be really fit. NO !!!. They cover what 10km in a game give or take. Compared to other athletes who earn considerably less they dont need to be that fit. What they earn does matter. All they do is play football and train. They should be super fit.
Now anyone thats played football knows injuries and knocks happen … fine … but they are apparently tired. Not good.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi dont need rest.
now Reading has to go for the goal, so 1 or 2 more goal to come
UNITEEEEEED
risky push there by Vida
COME ON LADS!!! Get goals FFS.
Exactly like we started the second half against Chelsea. Christ. URGENCY PLEASE.
A royally crap game. So uninspiring! :S
I honestly believe United are not fit enough. Whether Fergie has it that way to reduce fatigue, I’m not sure. They just seem to run out of puff.
I think we need Carrick on!
Please can we get Carrick on? Someone that can at least keep the ball for us and control the game? It’s a shame really that Carrick can’t even rest for a full game because we simply cannot control the game without him in there.
united are playing shit getting bored with this!
and I dont want say that
Sub anybody from the defence upwards
unlucky rvp great strike,,,,,
Could anyone tell Fergie that we need another fuckin goal an bring Chicha in, damn it, I really dont get it when he need to wait until minute 70 to make changes!!!!!
How many times this season have we been feeling like this throughout a game….. we always hang on but ffs …this is Reading at home to go 15 points clear… motivation enough…?
Very very disappointed with this performance. If the chance to effectively wrap up the title is not enough incentive to come in at home and put on a show for the crowd then I simply do not know what else is. If you can’t score please just hold out for this win.
Tends to show the paucity in our ranks, dont yah think
This game reminds me of the games before xmas, leading but playing awful. Seems like the Real game still affect the players or maybe they think the league is over. But all that matters is winning, couldn’t care less if it was 5-0 or 1-0!
Had to google “paucity” parryheid
5 mins ? .. for wat?
I am very dissapointed with this performance, and like it or not Welbeck and Van Persie without scoring its been awhile!!! Seriously just dont get it leaving Chicha in the bench the whole game??? Not even giving him 20mins or so??? There must be something weird…
One of the boring and lacklustre performances i have seen from untied this season .. put the viewers to sleep
Nonetheless what matters at this stage of the season is 3 points. And 15 points lead. We can worry about the style later .
15 points. Boo! Bring on the FA Cup. At least, there’ll be some drama in that.
Welbeckstats: Jupp Chicha getting the Berba treatment, he rather play Welbeck who cant score for his life instead of a natural goalscorer.
15p clear, this PL victory will be one of the easiest in a long time!
Very VERY poor performance. Only two players played well for us. The two central defenders. I know we are 15 points clear but SERIOUSLY. We didn’t get there by playing like this game in game out. Please put some fucking urgency in your game from here on out. Can’t keep watching fucking nervy games like this when we have more than enough firepower to kill teams like Reading.
The only good thing about tonight is the final result. This must be the worst home performance for a long time against a piss poor team.
We were very lucky tonight not to face a better team than Reading and lucky that ref did not give them a stone wall penalty.
Anyway, the table looks great tonight.
I’ll take that all day long!!
I really don’t care about how we played.
We needed 1 goal, and 3 points. TOP OF THE LEAGUE BABY with 15points, Champions. what else.
We have 9 games to go against, Sunderland away, stoke away, arsenal away and west brom away. Then at home agains Chelski, City, aston villa and swansea. Not easy games BUT
We need to loose 5 games to be even on points with City
and City needs to win all their games so even if we loose to Arsenal, Chelski and City,
we would be 6 points ahead of City and I can’t see us losing 6 games from our 9.
Basically it’s over, but I will nto be carried away. I just can’t see us bottle this title. Can’t see it.
Some scintillating stuff there,I’ll now have difficulty sleeping tonight it’s got me all excited.
I think it’s more of City fighting for thei second spot against Tottenham rather than them fighting for the title against us.
CMON UNITED, someone said in another forum that RVP has started already to change his shirt number to #21
UNITEEEEEEEEED
We did exactly what we needed to do and nothing more. A lot of it comes down to players not wanting to risk fatique or injury before the international break too, but the changes do make a difference, we miss rafa and evra coming forward when they aren’t there.
Fuck it! 15 fucking points clear, 9 games to go, At this point I’m hoiping Fergie rests players for the Sunderland game, given that we have Chelsea 2 days later. Lot of them will be just back from international break so IMO, take a risk on 3 points, it has been a long time since we won the FA Cup and if we get through Chelsea then we’ve a meeting with the bitter fuckers at Wembley!
Job done. I know it was boring but we have to act professionally. I remember when were leadin g 4-2 against everton last season we were trying to act smart and it cost us big time. This season we have done very well. That is why I am pretty surprised and shocked that we have exited Champions League competition.
Boys need the league trophy badly. It will do a world of good for players like De gea, Rafael,Jones,Smalling , Welbeck,Kagawa,Cleverly. They will get a premier league medal
Not a game worth commenting a lot on. Good thing we won, lol. It was obvious most of the players were looking to get it over with. Ryan, Rio and Danny showed the most hunger.
15 clear points before Easter. Unreal.
I know a lot of fans will be unhappy with that performance but If it brings a twentieth title closer to home then personally I don’t give a fuck. You can’t always win pretty and I’m sure that city and Liverpool would have been happy with a performance like that and have taken three points.
@Redneck, I don`t think we`ve won pretty all season. It`s really weird 15 pts clear without having moved out of 2nd gear
It’s good to have that 3 points but we need to see KAGAWA playing more minutes and being selected more oftern
@ dred
Agreed but they say that that is the sign of a good team. Of course I would love to see us blow teams away every week but as you say we haven’t really got going this season but still find ourselves 15 points clear. Still happy as a pig in shit though. Have got my positive head on today. Come on united.
Daniel 88
you say 5 days rest but he doesn’t have that really as if he was to play today then he would have had to train all week as normal to be sharp enough for todays game. By leaving him out today then he realistically may have had 5 days rest and begin training again on monday
Also surprised you can say Danny should be starting as striker.. while hernandez is sitting on the bench..I like to see Danny play and he defo brings alot to the team but for me he cant out chico as a natural finisher, also hernandez wastes very little possesion and I can’t see a lot wrong with his out field game either at the moment.
anyways by the looks of things we have league won anyway
with the title effectively won so early, it’s possible to do some planning for next season. Two players are going to leave, Hernandez (my guess is that he will be playing for a London team next year, either blue or red), and Anderson. Valencia and Nani are likely to leave.
That leaves the team with two valid strikers (RVP and Rooney), problems in midfield (unless clev surprises me) and the wings.
I don’t think that the CR7 fantasy will come true, so it’s time to think about a replacement for Hernandez. Midfield maybe it’s time to revive the pursue of Fellaini (a wonderful player).
15 points clear, sounds fooking mental. Not the greatest game in the world, but who cares at this time of the season. Just a matter of counting down the games and getting over the line.
Have to say, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a good game when United have been shown on the 5:30 match. They should be banned
3 points ……..end of
Hans @ 19:27: “When Young took that shot RVP was completely unmarked and if he gets the ball it is a simple tap in!”
In a nutshell – that’s why AshleyBloodyYoung just isn’t good enough. He can’t shoot – any goals yet ? – and his passing in tight situations is just awful. Let’s not forget, that that screw-up was the best thing he did in the match.
Before Marq and Wayne come on this thread and berate me let me remind them that this guy gets 120,000/week ! What a waste of money ! No wonder that Nani is lobbying for a raise to get the same wage – he might be “inconsistent” but at least he provides end-product.
IF RVP hadn’t been so huge for UTD from August to January, he too would be singled out for disgrace for his recent-run-of-form. He’s seriously off-the-boil and it’s a travesty that he’s getting playing-time ahead of Chicharito.
The only positive thing today is, that City lost…
I don’t get all the hoo ha bollocks about the performance, this is one of those games that you just want to cross out, united aren’t always going to play free flowing football but what hopefully gets you closer to a title is grinding out victories. Today was backs to the wall battle, reading weren’t always going to be easy as they’ve shown several times against united this season, this was a game of togetherness and solidity, in fact that will.be one of many things united need in order to cross the line.
I think the criticism Young gets is more than bloody well deserved. He’s a winger, is he not? We saw him make a total of two forward runs today and only twice did he take on and beat his man, once with the help of an overlapping run from Buttner.
Keep in mind, this is a below average Reading side. Against stronger sides, he’s more than happy to pass back and contribute to the team only in defense, i just don’t realize how that is good enough.
A 40 year-old Giggs was running his shit, absolutely showing what a winger should be like, all bloody game.
That’s why i think there’s no defense for players such as Young and Valencia. They are wingers – their only job is to beat their man and take the ball forward with the help of pace/trickery and they don’t have either it seems like – move them the fuck on, clear the wage bill and give Nani what he deserves.
Or re-train them as fullbacks maybe? They certainly put in less crosses and make less forward runs than Evra/Buttner/Rafael.
And our performance today was as insipid as the one against Chelsea, but at least last week we had the excuses of ‘fatigue, psychological strain’ and we played against a full-strength Chelsea side so it was almost understandable.
Don’t know what the excuse is today but we played a full-strength team and barely managed a scrappy goal created by fucking Rio Ferdinand, the man who just doubled his assist tally for United. Unbelievable.
Happy with the points, happy with being 15 points clear ahead of shitty, but goddamn….
I agree about RVP’s form. The thing is though he is a tremendous footballer. Have to hand it to Wenger, really nurtured him right. If he sparks to life again then it really is game over for the League, if it isn’t already. Rooney gets goals despite looking awkward, and these two are the best combination we have in terms of overall contribution to the game, particularly when looking to rest our more established midfielders. I do feel that the opportunity to get fifteen points ahead might have forced Sir Alex’s hand in picking those two. Have to say though, and have been saying it for a while, Hernandez has deserved time on the pitch. Unfortunately the hoopla surrounding Rooney might mean that he has regained his undroppable status, and he scored the goal to boot. Really hope Chicharito is given his opportunities.
For now fifteen points clear. Still really need to get our possession game sorted. We can score, we can defend, just cant keep the ball in between.
Samuel. Spot on. Fifteen points clear, players rested and a win simple as yet people will moan. They know nothing else. Have to laugh at those saying united should be putting on a show for the fans yet don’t actually even go. To be fifteen points clear in March is a piss take.
@denton Davey
To me RVP looks absolutely knackerd physically and mentally. Don’t forget up until last season he was constantly injured at Arsenal and I think he averaged only 19 games a year for them. He’s played non stop in the league, champions league and he’s been called upon to recuse us in the FA cup as well. Add in international games and its no surprise he looks a little sluggish right now.
Another thing with RVP is he thrives on chances and quality crosses coming from both our wingers but they have all been poor this season and now its starting to reflect on RVPs game. Now I’m not saying he can’t create goals for himself its just his bread and butter is getting on the end of stuff that comes into the box.
It’s catch 22 in RVP won’t want to be rested as he’s chasing that racist cunt for the golden boot but for the good of the team and himself SAF should literally give him a week away from the game with his family and let him come refreshed. No better time to do that when you have a 15 point lead in my opinion.
As fir Hernandez he must be incredibly frustrated at lack of games. No matter how many times he scores he knows he’s going to be dropped next game. Fans who think he will stick around long term are delusional, the kid deserves to be a regular in some team and Im afraid at some point soon he’s going to realize this.
Agree on RVP he has been poor of late and that’s I think nine or ten games without a goal. Sell the cunt. No joking aside he needs a breather and will probably get one at Sunderland or certainly Chelsea. Chicha isn’t getting the “Berbatov treatment” it’s just one of those things. He played last week anyway. He is happy enough but yes I agree he should have perhaps started today or at least come on. Anyway 3 points and a ludicrous lead at the top.
As for Gibbo I always thought he was a decent enough player for United and like Costas would rather have kept him instead of Anderson. Not as gifted but always put in a shift. Rarely injured. Play of both feet and scored some decent goals for United. Brace against Spurs in league cup. West Ham away. Munich at home. Hull away are some examples.
United till I die. Spot on about Van Persie.
@king Eric
The thing is its easy for everyone and i include myself in this to say Chico is happy enough with the games he’s played because as fans we would give our left nut to be a squad player at utd even if it ment sitting on the bench and never playing a minute.
Great as Hernandez is he won’t have that same kind of love for the club as you or I or 99% of our fans have. We live and die by the games each week and while its easy for us to say he should be happy where he is I find it hard to believe he’s happy at the current situation.
I reckon this will be another Gerard Piqué situation where there is simply two established players ahead of him who are always going to be first choice. I can’t see Hernandez wanting to stick around 2-3 years waiting for RVP or wazza to be sold for a chance to start.
Well done Everton again. Moyes has got a great team spirit there.
@ United till i die
I agree about Chico..he wont be waiting for a long time. In this situation SAF is right and the kid is also right. It would be very shame if we lose him. I would give him new contract and swap him with some club for valuable player.
15 points clear!!! Hahaha
United need only 13pts out of 27 on offer to win the title.
A win v City will essentially seal the deal.
We are only 3 points shy of our own record (18 points above Arsenal in 1999) for most points clear at the end of the season.
@ King Eric and saay THANK YOU CROATIA FOR GIVING SUCH A GREAT STRIKER JELAVIC WHO GAVE CITEH LAST GOAL
United till I die @ 00:11: “I can’t see Hernandez wanting to stick around 2-3 years waiting for RVP or wazza to be sold for a chance to start.”
I completely agree with that assessment – he’s too good to be used infrequently AND to be so obviously so far down in the pecking order. Something needs to be done to rectify the situation.
Since selling RVP isn’t likely – no matter what King Eric suggests (ahem ! and ha ha !!) – there has to be another way of squaring the circle. My thought – suggestion/supposition/inference, whatever – is that the key to finding playing time for the main attackers is going to be re-assigning TheWayneBoy to the ScholesRole. That resolves “the maths” since rotating three guys in two positions is far more straight-forward than trying to fit four into two positions. AND, DannyTheLad is going to be pressing for more playing time, too; ditto for KagawaBunga.
If there is any merit in my thought then I can see a significant re-shuffling of the deck in the summer. The only winger who has merited selection is Nani – AshleyBloodyYoung just isn’t “UTD quality” while AV7 has been awful and will need to radically up-lift his game to be considered. Who knows what Zaha will do ? Perhaps, then, the “solution” would be a re-jig of playing style to play without the width that traditional wingers have provided – or to move to something like a 4-3-3 with an “attacking diamond”, playing ShinjiSan where he is most comfortable (at the base of the diamond, ahead of MC16 and TheWayneBoy) and letting Chicharito lead-the-line, closely flanked by RVP/DannyTheLad who could be somewhat withdrawn.
What the fuck am I talking about ?
I have no clue BUT I do believe that you’re right about Chicharito – he needs to be given more (and more significant) playing-time or else he will lose patience.
@Denton Davey
Totaly Agree with you. Another thing with Chico is he’s still developing his game and sitting on the bench isn’t helping. He’s second to none from the penalty spot in that’s where he thrives but in my uneducated opinion his hold up play and link up play outside the box need considerable work. To many times he gets the ball with his back to goal but gives away Possession with a bad pass. Working on that stuff daily in training is great but its no substitute for suing in matches under pressure. It really is a conundrum that’s SAF is finding hard to solve.

samuel – united WE stand says:
I don’t get all the hoo ha bollocks about the performance, this is one of those games that you just want to cross out, united aren’t always going to play free flowing football but what hopefully gets you closer to a title is grinding out victories. Spot on mate. I think the team selection would have been different if city had won their game against Everton today but I don’t think the Gaffer would have rolled out such a team if it wasn’t in the safe knowledge that win or lose, UTD would still be 12 points ahead of city. Hence, I’d like to think that the Gaffer took a gamble by deploying such a team and it paid off. We got the 3 points, key players rested, no injuries and we move on. It’s the kinda team that was expected to scrape a 1-0 win. It was littered with enough quality to just do the job.
Great discussion regarding Chicharito. Like United Till I Die said, even I can’t see Hernandez wanting to stick around for 2-3 years waiting for RVP or wazza to be sold for a chance to start. It’s some situation that the Gaffer has got himself into. Chicharito is probably the best poacher we have had since RVN. His positional sense and predatory instinct inside the box is second to none. Though his skills outside the box are not so great, he is still young and he will only get better. He will be a great asset on any team with his attitude, work rate and commitment. So, there’s a huge downside if we sell him. I hope we can keep him but the only way he will get a chance is if either RVP/Rooney get sold or if they go through a really bad phase. Having said that, I would have definitely started him today though. Today’s game was perfect for him.
@KingEric “Chicha isn’t getting the “Berbatov treatment” it’s just one of those things”
I agree, I myself think that it’s up to Chicharito. Will he be ready to accept that he won’t play wekk in and week out, and that he will be the first to be rotated, which is unfair many times.
IF he’s ready for that, he will stay, if not, then he will go and we’ll hope the best for him.
The ideal solution for me is for him to stay and help us win many titles and that he gains a title of a legend “the second coming of OleGunnar”, I really do hope he will stay, and become a legend here. It’s up to him really.
Just imagine, when you have Rooney and RVP in the selection, any manager would find it hard to leave them out, but the difference at the moment is, that RVP is underperforming, so Chicha should be an option, but clearly SAF thinks otherwise.
I hope he stays! and I believe that he will. If not, I will wish him well and into the next one. IF h stays, he will be loved and appreciated!

The fact is, hernandez is part of a squad and i’m not sure the need to feel sorry for him is warranted. The workload of the forward is shared around, he gets his fair share of games and is part of the rotation like any other club, it is a system that the manager has worked under and one a manchester united player must adhere to. Hernandez moving to another club won’t guarantee him nothing either, especially at a club with a massive squad, he would still likely scrap for game time. Hernandez goal-poaching prowess cannot be questioned but what holds him back from reaching that extra level is the all round play. At the highest level, the top clubs require their forwards to be as flexible and adaptable, able to link with their midfielders and bring players into play, this is a weakness in the mexican’s game and needs massive improvement in order to edge forward as a first choice but he can’t be too hasty, van persie is approaching 30, a little more patience and he will edge out the dutchman. People seem desperate to claim he’s unfairly treated but it is up to hernandez to show he has in his locker the tools required to be a certain starter, not handed to him because some people’s hearts gets broken everytime he isn’t on the pitch, you can bet he’ll be scampering around in training looking to impress and work hard at his game but ultimately he knows that united’s chase to win is what matters and he certainly has played his part this season but competition up front is intense and therefore, i would argue and say no one is guaranteed a game, this won’t end speculations though i’m sure but the grass isn’t always greener on the other side of the fence, hernandez should keep on fighting rather than waving the white flag amd moving on.
I think you guys are over reacting with Hernandez situation. The guy will always score for you and that is why I weas shocked that this boy didn’t even feature against Madrid in both legs. But having said that I feel sir alex values chicharito and won’t do the mistake of selling him.
Hernandez is 24 so he still has got peak years ahead of him. Even if he joins other club will he get regular chance? Look at realmadrid and barca. Hinguain and benzema don’t play week in week out. Same at Barca. Sanchez hardly gets playing time. So do you think hernandez will get playing time.
Only clubs that match United stature are Barca,Real Madrid,Bayern and AC milan. He won’t play regularly in barca or Real as I they have Messi and Ronaldo respectively. Bayern have 2 or 3 good strikers and have good attacking players already available so again chicha won’t play there regularly.
Milan could be an option for him and I can bet he will shine there. But they have already bought Ballotelli and have talented El shawary , so he won’t get a chance there also.
Hernandez should not be sold. He will get his chances this season as we are still competing in two competitions. He needs to be patient and wait for his opportunity as he is really talented.
Let’s enjoy the break with the 15 point cushion and the anticipation of the run in to come.
Cheers to all United fans on this forum.GGMU
Costas said it well I think; 15 points clear before Easter – that is unreal. I hope we can keep the margin in this size all the way to the finish now. That would be a fantastic response to City winning the title last year.
If there are any negatives to be sounded it would be Fergies truthful observation about us not being good enough at killing of games. 1-0 against Reading at home? We dominated the match throughout and it only came close to exiting the last 5 minutes because it became clear that we wouldn’t score another goal on the day. As I recall it Giggs was the closest one to add a goal to his name, but both Welbz, RvP or Young should have been closer to do so themselves.
I reckon Fergie is eager to see RvP hitting his scoring form again and thus continuously has him in his starting XI, but he needs to feel “the love” of being at a club where, I don’t even know when he scored last, but this sort of streak without a goal to your tally puts you on the bench. Chicharito should be starting as I see it.
But these concerns are obviously luxuries to have when you’re 15 points clear at the top. So – onwards to face our Reserves Team March 30th before our exiting tie with Chelsea!
I mentioned it a while back but Van Persie’s season reminds me of Yorke’s first at United. Started on fire, but his goals dried up. I am not too worried. It seems like he’s feeling the effects of playing nonstop. Just because he didn’t get injured doesn’t mean his body hasn’t taken a toll. I remember how much Paul Scholes benefited from retiring from international football at RVP’s age. Unfortunately, I can’t see the Robin doing the same until the 2014 World Cup is over.
As for Chicharito, I feel Fergie must have realized lately that Rooney and Van Persie could and should be rotated more often. He should have started more often in my opinion. Especially with his scoring record. I doubt Fergie would even contemplate letting him go at the moment. I do find one thing funny though. Some people that moan about his treatment are the same ones that said Fergie knew best when he constantly picked the Little Pea ahead of Berbatov.
At least Samuel is always consistent on matters like these.
I am not worried about RvP in the least. Puts in a shift and makes good decisions.
The manager singled out all the forwards for their unselfish play and contributions to defense.
A clean sheet was a big positive for me.
I would also be very curious if Eamonn Dolan doesn’t have to answer for his post match comments about the referee. Vidic was giving just as much as he got and no way was that a penalty. Well maybe if Cakir was the ref. But not in this league.
Chicharito will get his chances. If we tie up the league, I expect RvP to sit the last 4 matches. Actually hope Nick Powell gets a couple games. Looking at Darron Gibbson yesterday, you always have some pride. But lets just hope he progress, and that Nick Powell pushes on to become all that and more.
Big task to play for United.
And how about them Reds 6W on the bounce and top of the table. Sunderland could be a hard game, after the break with all their players rested and us looking to Chelsea 2 days later.
There are some big games coming on, and make no mistake!
Costas. Hello mate. You well? You nailed it in that last couple of sentences!
@KIng Eric
Morning mate. I’m good. Ha, cheers. You knew I’d go there at some point.

iced earth, Ya mate, Everton played with 10 men for the last 20 min or so, and scored the second goal on a nice counterattack as well.
Maybe we could have Moyes come in as our “Down to 10man coach”
Could be handy in a pinch.
Off topic but funny as….

Last time I was in the chelsea FC boardroom I found a bra in the cupboard! wonder what I’ll find today!?

we will have some hard games away we must stay focused
sunderland game will be very important
Have to disagree with anyone who says Hernandez all round game needs massive improvement, ok he was quite against chel and got subbed but the supply just wasn’t coming through. As was noted above our wingers haven’t been blazing. But I really don’t see him wasting much possesion at all, actually less than some of our other players, and Im sure if anyone has the stats his pass completion rate would be good. Also thought when he had a few games with RVP they worked well together earlier in season. And who can forget how he pulled the villa game out of the fire, what a performance.
Menatally he is very strong also as many players would drop the head, sulk and lose confidence.
Also While RVP is a fantastic addition to the team we have shown we can still win games and I would imagine we would still be hammering city in the league as they have fake “superstars” who after winning one title have shown no hunger what so ever something SAF has been responsible for continually instilling in our team! Long live SAF!!!!!!!!!
probably her own from a previous visit I’m thinking
So one month ago whole media and opposition fans were saying we are one man team lead by RVP. Now the same set of fools are saying RVP is no more good. Haha. Hypocrisy.
What’s the assessment of Büttner yesterday. I always like his industry, but looks more like a bull in a china shop and a card waiting to happen.
One of my mates think he was MOTM. So that’s him, certifiable.
No, not hypocrisy, but idiocy.
RVP hasn’t been in good form for a while now. Probably because Arsenals season is usually over by now. The whole team looks tired. It would have been good to give Hernandez a start yesterday. He must be felling pretty annoyed seeing an out of form RVP starting ahead of him.
I thought Buttner did okay yesterday – not MOTM by any means (pick either of Ferdinand or Vidic for that) but along with Tyler Blackett and Fabio he has a decent chance of eventually replacing Paddy on the left.
I love his enthusiasm, yes it gets him into trouble, and yes there’s a bit more to come from him defensively/positionally, but you have to admire the heart of the lad, he really does give it some beans.
I see nothing wrong with the performance yesterday. Yes it was flat, but it has always been like this every season during the title run ins. So 3 pts and that is good enough for me.
@Denton
You may not rate Young but I do hope you show some decent respect for our player and as a person by not twisting his name. It is downright disrespectful. Dis him all you like, but respect his name at least
I credit Buttner for getting Evra on track. Enough quality for Evra to notice. Alex’s goal v Wigan and MOTM in that game surprised everyone.
Is a question about Fabio to be fair.
Rio was top dog for me. Liked his response to all the press he has been getting. Good luck to him on England duty.
14 lads in senior internationals. Wonder how many other teams come close?
One thing for sure”Title race is far from over, we must stay focused for the rest of the campaign”
While on the other hand people talking about City catching us this season, I would rather say City should be worry about ending up third this season. Tottenham are in the right frame to beat them to the second spot, they had some impressive results along the season.furthermore AVB has a point to prove against Chelsea, so if not the second spot, then perhaps ending up ahead of Rentoboys is just the icing over the cake for him.
I knew it’d be a dodgy performance the moment I saw the line up but hopefully it’ll pay off later in the season (i.e. in a couple weeks when we play Chelsea in the Cup. Can play a second string side vs Sunderland now) 3 points was all that matters, we won’t even remember this game by the end of the season
@Fletch – Agreed, both centre backs were top notch. Also think Buttner has been very impressive in his last 3 or 4 starts.
As for Chicha, he’ll get his games now the League’s been put to bed. I’m a bit surprised he hasn’t started a couple more League games recently (i.e. Norwich, Reading) but Fergie wanted to play his top 2 and seal the League. Hernandez is a brilliant goalscorer….and his all round game has improved….but it’s still not as good as the other 3.
I’m not sure he’ll play vs Sunderland though…isn’t he playing in Mexico on Wednesday night? And Sunderland is a Saturday midday kick off.
http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Football-News/2013/Mar/Nemanja-Vidic-says-the-title-is-in-United-hands.aspx
@murt73
Agreed 110% with you, maybe Chicha’s all around game isn’t in RVP’s level, but damn, Rooney has lost more posession than Chicha this season and people still believe in this myth that Chicha can’t hold posession? cmon people lets get real. yes Rooney goes ahead of Chicha in the picking order, but don’t talk something crazy.
@ash, yeah, they fail to recognise that RVP has 22 goals, Chicha 16 and Rooney 16. Barca is a one man team, Messi has 40 goals in la liga and Villa is the close second with 7 goals, that’s a one man team.
@andormeda my friend, I don’t know did you copu paste my comment or what haha, but i said the same thing, title is far from over, but the truth is, that City is fighting for their second place against Chelski and Tottenham rather than against us. Can you people realistically see us lose 6 games out of 9 and City win all of their games? I doubt it. I trust my team, that we won’t bottle this title.
Someone said that RVP is already thinking of changing his shirtnumber into #21
peace.
murt73 @ 11:54: “Have to disagree with anyone who says Hernandez all round game needs massive improvement, ok he was quite against chel and got subbed but the supply just wasn’t coming through.”
Sometimes a cliche is based on fact – such as AV7′s too one-footed or AshleyYoung isn’t UTD quality – but sometimes a cliche is just a cliche. In this instance – “Chicharito’s all-round game isn’t good enough” – you’re right; it’s just a cliche. Just like the old chestnut that “Nani is inconsistent” – he’s got three more goals than AV7 and Young combined, in far fewer matches !
The deal with Chicharito is that he’s a player with a very defined way of playing – fast, on-the-shoulder-of-the-last-defender, good with both feet, amazing in the air. He’s a class Inzaghi/Raul type of striker – great in tight spaces. BUT to get the best out of him, he needs “service” – he’s just not getting that service when AV7/Young play on the wings. I don’t think that TheMexicutioner is best-suited to a rigid 4-4-2. To my way of thinking, UTD would get the very best out of Chicharito by setting up behind him in order to maximize his strengths – two/three interchanging support strikers. Maybe this strategy/formation won’t work against the very best defences but against DeadMenWalking like Reading I think that it would work-a-treat.
@We are United

Now for my post my random fellows.
Everyone is brilliant, my wife is so intelligent. I love life, I like to mow the grass and polish the dog. Rooney is the best player ever and Manchester is the new Rome. Why shouldnt we pay more tax, what do I need money for anyway, no troubles in the world. Love peace and Guinoa. Tamberines paisley pillows, women should have got the vote sooner, size doest matter.
Is that good enough for you Scott?
@denton davey. I respectfully because part of a striker’s all round game is to be able to play upfront on his own and hold off two/three defenders. The very best strikers are strikers capable of playing in a 4-5-1 with no problems. We have only TWO of them in this team. Rooney and Van Persie. Playing Hernandez in a 4-5-1 is a waste of time because his hold up play still leaves a lot to be desired. I have ample evidence to support this claim as well. Look at all the times we have tried to leave Hernandez on his own upfront, he has ended up being anonymous for large stretches of the game. Perhaps the most popular example is Barcelona at Wembley where I did not even know Hernandez was on the pitch for some periods.
Also, ANOTHER part of a complete striker is that a striker has to be great with the ball at his feet. Should be able to take on defenders without help. In this category, we have THREE. Rooney, Van Persie, Welbeck. They are all very good with ball to feet and can draw defenders with their runs. Hernandez is not quite as good with the ball at his feet and he tends to get tangled with the ball at his feet away from goal. I counted four times last week against Chelsea when this happened but I will say that the one time I saw him use the ball very well when he was running with it was against West Ham in the F.A. Cup at Upton Park.
Then there’s the categories where Hernandez is just PERFECT. Goalscoring, positioning and decision making in the box. Here Welbeck is terrible and Rooney and Van Persie are also fantastic in these categories.
The thing is in football, energy makes up for a LOT of deficiencies and Welbeck is as energetic as it gets at the moment in our team. If he loses a ball he runs the length of the pitch to win it back, he is willing to run at the opposition no matter how tired he is. Same thing with Milner at city. Milner is not particularly goo at much but he is SO energetic and refuses to give up on ANY ball and with that, he contributes very positively to man city.
There is a reason Sir Alex chose to go with Welbeck and not Hernandez for two legs against Madrid (I expected it as well and he was right too). It is NOT because he does not like Hernandez, it is because Hernandez is just not as energetic as Welbeck is.
If Hernandez wants to become a surefire starter, he is going to have to work hard on the categories that he is lacking in. Same goes for Welbeck. As of right now. Hernandez simply DOES NOT deserve to start ahead of either Rooney or Van Persie no matter how bad VP’s form is right now. Hernandez is just not as good a striker as either and is not as energetic as welbeck is and can’t multiple positions like welbeck can.
dannysoyaLOVESUSAINBOLT,
Javier Hernandez goal ratio is the best in the Premier League, he has scored a goal every 55 minutes he’s been on the field,he has played 800 minutes in this season and has 16 goals,if for you that’s not enough to give him more game time then he is in the wrong team.
No wonder Atletico de Madrid,Juventus and even Morinho would love to have this guy,so far I have not heard of any interest by any team for the “energetic” Wellbeck.
Back to the important stuff now 1 0 the Jambo’s
Agree.
Hernandez is a good player but if he wants to be the best, he needs to find Batigol.. persuade him to be his sensei and he’s on his way to awesomeness. But for now.. It’s RVP > WR > Welbs > Hernandez
Thats all. And don’t argue with me, its useless.
dannysoya @ 15:55: “the most popular example is Barcelona at Wembley where I did not even know Hernandez was on the pitch for some periods.”
So, you want to re-hash that old history – OK, how about considering these points that also led to UTD’s embarrassment.
what exactly did Valencia provide him in terms of “service” ?
what exactly did Park provide him in terms of “service” ?
why was Nani – UTD’s only truly-skilled winger – on the bench until the 75th minute ?
and, finally, why was the decrepit LittleMikey chosen ahead of Dimmy for a place on the bench ?
That match against Barcelona was an absolute and complete disaster by SAF in terms of strategy and team selection.
Once you have thought about these questions, try to explain this:
“There is a reason Sir Alex chose to go with Welbeck and not Hernandez for two legs against Madrid (I expected it as well and he was right too). It is NOT because he does not like Hernandez, it is because Hernandez is just not as energetic as Welbeck is.”
Your suggestion that Welbeck is more “energetic” than Chicharito is just non-sense. They are both “energetic” but TheMexictioner is faster, turns more quickly, and converts-chances-into-goals. That said, they play very different styles – you’re comparing apples with oranges.
I fully understand the logic of playing DannyTheLad (and Nani) in the second-leg ahead of TheWayneBoy – SAF was right to do so and his choice was vindicated by Welbeck’s smothering of Xabi Alonso (and Nani’s constant danger as an outlet which pinned-back Arbeloa) as long as the teams played 11 v. 11 BUT the decision was never Chicharito or Welbeck.
Actually, SAF’s choice was to go with RVP rather than Chicharito. OK, I can see why he chose to start RVP who hadn’t scored in two months – RVP had carried the team in the first half of the season and SAF is a surprisingly-sentimental man-manager despite his reputation for ruthlessness. BUT, after RVP missed two “sitters” – two misses that, as I feared (and wrote on this blog) came back to haunt UTD – why did he persist with him ?
Even more to the point, why did he persist with RVP in the second-leg after Nani’s red card – prior to that, RVP did the square-root of sweet-fuck-all. Bringing on Chicharito in place of RVP would have made sense in that TheMexicutioner would have stretched RM’s defence and he would have posed more of an outlet/threat than a tired, unproductive, and perhaps-niggled RVP.
BUT, that’s not the most inexplicable thing about the substitutions in the second-leg – what was the point of bringing on AshleyBloodyYoung (instead of Chicharito). So far this season, Chicharito has scored 16 goals whereas AshleyBloodyYoung has scored no goals ! AND this decision was made when UTD were trying to overcome a deficit !!!!
SAF’s substitution-decisons was not unlike his decision to marginalize Dimmy for the 2011 CL Final after his two misses v. ManShitty in the FACup a few weeks earlier. Sheer, utter madness – as if it wasn’t Dimmy who saved his bacon a couple of months earlier when it looked like TheLads were going down to defeat to Blackpool.
SAF isn’t perfect and I was no fan of Dimmy but I never claimed he offered nothing – I am no fan of AshleyBloodyYoung but I’ve always claimed loud-and-clear that he offers nothing.
Like I wrote earlier, SAF has a reputation for ruthlessness but actually he seems to be both sentimental in his attachment to some players and more than willing to cut off his nose to spite his face – I think it could be argued that his non-choice of Chicharito could be interpreted in either way. I just hope that that non-choice doesn’t come back to haunt UTD when Javier Hernandez comes to consider his future options.
First up, City lost, we won and now we’re fifteen points clear with not long to go. This being so the squad can’t be that shit.
On the Chico v Welbeck thing, Chico for me is clearly the better striker – and strikers are about scoring goals – and he can feel unlucky he has hadn’t had more starts. I wouldn’t trust Danny to hit a barn door, which is important seeing as we lost out last season on goal difference.
That being said, its a squad game, and all decent squads need good utility players. Danny certainly is that, indeed he’s better than that. There are times when you need a physical presence or a flexible, willing runner to mix things up a bit. At the moment, Danny brings that to the table. Shame his finishing is not that good. Not yet at any rate
liverpool cant win the league but qpr can finish above them !
@dannysoyaLOVESUSAINBOLT
Hernandez simply DOES NOT deserve to start ahead of Rooney or Van Persie no matter how bad Van P’s form is right now.
Look we can talk all day about a strikers contribution outfield and this is maybe most important if a lone striker is playing up front on his own and we are under serious pressure and we require that striker to take real pressure off us say to hold out a game or yeah to be involved in link up play but mostly for a striker his job is too score goals which I dont need to say too much on only to refer to Ziggy’s Comment above..
And I don’t really want to say Chico Should play at Danny’s expense as I realise his contribution is massive but I certainly want to see more of him in our team..For me now they bring something different to the team so I cant see why it’s either Danny Or Chico.. And to say Chico doesn’t have the energy..mmm He does for sure and it’s explosive and I can say it’s used in exactly the way I like to see a striker use it
@Ziggy Does that mean he wud have bagged a hat trick against Real over 180 Mins:) maybe not as the opposition and competition is at it’s highest but we’ll never know unless we throw him in at that level..
And as said somewhere above I also hope to see Powell being thrown in, If he isn’t it can only tell me that he’s no where near where he should be at saying he’s fit and all.
The good thing about a season like this where we are so far ahead is specially if we have it sewn up with 4 or 5 games remaining is we can give complete rest to some of the lads who have being on the go all the time including older lads but will also give the youger lads invaluable experience like in league cup against chel
Terry once again showed his vile side. West Hams taunted him slightly and he went out of the official warm up area (which is behind the linesman), wandered into the pitch slightly, and pretending to do stretches right in front of the West Ham fans, showing them his backside. And the commentator actually defended him saying you cant blame players reacting when being taunted.
Watched the U21 work to a well deserved away win v West Brom U21s at the Hawthornes.
Goals by McGinty and Cofie. Well done.
Am now sitting down to watch some EPL Fulham giving Spurts a game.
If the ref had been Cakir spurs would be down to 10. Dempsy only a yellow after planting his studs in the middle of Karagoulis’s chest. UEFA so out of touch and anti EPL>
murt73,I agree with you about the Real Madrid game, after Nany red card, nothing could change the story, what I’m talking about is that Hernandez deserve more minutes and he is getting nothing and to say that Danny is playing more because is more “energetic” is nonsense.
Javier is leaving this summer, even Sir Alex knows that he can’t stop him,he is not sub material,he is the best striker in his national team and if Atletico de Madrid offers the right money and promise to Javier the Falcao’s position in the team,I bet you money he will leave.
I look at it this way, while shitty had to take the title away from us with 2 late winners, we looks like we have taken the sting out of the title race, and won it by a universal mile, while shitty still could not beat us on points, which makes this title win even more satisfying, enjoy it PPL, enjoy it, these moments is the reason why we support united
The irony of all this is that two years ago, Javier and Berbatov were who with their goals kept the team winning while Rooney was in the middle of a tantrum that threatened to bring the team down .
@ziggy, get over the rooney thing man and move on, we all know his disastrous start to the 10/11 campaign but when he pulled his head out of the clouds he got better and we won the league. Hernandez also played better paired with Rooney than Berbatov… and ironically, Berbatov played better paired with Rooney than Hernandez. Berbatov lost out as a result, more or less.
Rooney played his role in the campaign, like the spectacular winner against City and turning the 0-2 down at West Ham right around with a hat trick. He also scored the penalty that wrapped the league up.
Hernandez should get more playing time but its difficult. He scored against Chelsea quickly last week and that was great, but there is still a considerable and noticeable difference to his play this season and his play in 10/11. RvP, poor form or not, has to start, and if Rooney also starts behind him, where do you put Hernandez??? Ye he will probably leave but being honest, I suspected he would like a move within a few years to Spain right from when he was signed by United, so I wouldn’t be surprised.
Dela – I agree, and the following season, rooney returned to his best form with another record breaking goalscoring season, that made up for his mediocre season, even though he stated to return to his best in the second half of the season, when we won title number 19
I also feel, fans should be blessed with the strikers we have, spurs, chelsea, arsenal, shitty do not have the type of strikers we have. And this idea hernandez needs to improve his game, he offers us a diffeent dimension, and something rooney RVP and welbeck do not have, ability to be that fox in the box and score inside that penalty area, its a talent. It is nice to have veriaty, not to all have strikers who drop deep. We have suffered big time, as the wide boys we currently have, their time has come to an end, it is called rebuilding that area, and we are doing that. I expect the pieces in midfield to be rebuilt, but big decisions need to be made for nani, zaha is the start of a new era for united, but the side has suffered in the past few months in terms of stretching sides, as the wide players are in awful form
Dela,
Hey,I love Rooney,as a matter of fact I think fans have been unfair with him lately,my point is that sometimes you will do your best and won’t be enough if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time, that’s Hernandez story in Manutd righ now, that’s why I’m pretty sure he will leave…good noght.
@dentonas far as Hernandez being as energetic as welbeck. I disagree again. Just as Fletcher was the most energetic player for United when he played, Welbeck has that kind of fletcher-like energy to him. Hernandez DOES NOT. The best way to tell the difference? just watch the reactions of Hernandez and Welbeck when they lose the ball the next time they play together.
Also as far as Sir Alex and his decisions making as pertained to Van Persie. This whole rubbish about Van Persie missing two sitters is a myth to me. I only saw him miss ONE and that was in the first leg on a mis-kick that could have happened to anybody. The other two chances he had were ALL his own doing from ridiculously tight angles. He hit the target BOTH TIMES only to be denied by Diego Lopez with two fantastic saves both times. He did everything he could on those other two occasions. And Van Persie wasn’t half as bad as many people claims he was over the two legs. He had to take on two of the soundest defenders in European football ON HIS OWN and he did it well. His link up play was awesome, He set up chances for others. The things I expected him to do, he did. Ronaldo had a worse game than Van Persie in the second leg but nobody is talking about it.
Also as far as Sir Alex keeping Robin on the pitch when we were chasing the game. When a team is chasing the game, you have to keep on the player you think has the most match-winning potential in your team REGARDLESS of form and that man was and still remains Robin Van Persie.
Mancini would never bench Aguero even if he hadn’t scored for 10 games, same goes for Messi, Ronaldo, Falcao, Suarez and the likes. Robin van Persie is that kind of player. These men are proven matchwinners capable of delivering something special at ANY time even when they have poor games by their own standards. I would take my chances by leaving those men on the pitch rather than taking them off.
I can see pretty good reasons why SAF would want Anderson leaving, and the same goes for Nani. But why Hernandez? Unless there is some disciplinary issue, the big question mark is why SAF is making everything in his power to convince chico that he is surplus to the team.
Where could he go?
Why is everyone assuming Hernandez is going to Spain? I don’t think it is a likely possibility, since Atletico can’t offer him what he needs, a title challenger. This leaves me with my nightmare scenario, which is Chelsea, as a replacement for Torres, or Arsenal. By now, Chelsea knows what he is capable of, and they have the money. I just hope someone is making the necessary planning for next season, and a proper striker is signed well ahead of August.
Fergie wants as many players on the pitch as possible who are comfortable with the ball at their feet. Rooney and RVP have this, plus they’ll get at least 20 goals a season.
The Welbeck vs hernandez thing is a non starter btw, seeing as most of Welbeck’s games have been out wide.
dannysoya, your hipotesis is rubbish,Wellbeck hold the ball better than Hernandez but that doesn’t mesn he is “more energetic”,by the way,Hernandez job is to score goals and as far as I know he has been accomplished that task better than Danny so please…
gexmex,
I don’t think Sir Alex will sell Hernandez unless he goes to a team out of the Premier, that’s why Atletico makes more sense ,sometimes is not just about titles,Atletico is third in La Liga, they will be in the Champions next year and they’re always strong candidates for la Copa del Rey.
Then ,you have the sponsors, believe it or not,Hernandez is, after Rooney, the player in Manutd who is doing more money thanks to his sponsors in Mexico and the Hispanic Market in USA,if you want to keep those sponsors happy you need to play, that’s why I insist that he will leave to La Liga.
I’m pretty sure Manutd is not going to miss Hernandez but I’m pretty sure too that Hernandez is not going to miss Manutd either…good night now.
@dannysoya son, I strongly recommend you to keep watching football, and to try to understand how it really works. We lost against RM with RVP and that is “a fact”. what is being discussed is whether a different decision by SAF would have changed that ( personally doubt it). Thus the comments regarding mystique players, superstars and the cosmic powers of an out of form striker are irrelevant.
BTW I am still trying to understand your concept of “energetic”, as applied to two different players. Hernandez is faster that welbeck and needs one tenth of the chances to produce a goal. Welbeck can hold the ball for longer periods. I hope you can see the difference. You only have to think it through carefully, and I am sure you will be able to understand how the game is played.
Showing the McManaman tackle again on Sky. Yissshhh, Straight red if the Ref had seen it.
There will be retrospective action and the lad will have to accept it.
Newcastle deservedly aggrieved as the McManaman should have been off.
Wigan managed Martinez after: “He’s not that kind of boy”
Maybe not, but he will get a ban.
Dwight Yorke on Sky said this is the type of tackle that we are trying eradicate from football, and makes a plea for video review.
If Hernandez leaves maybe Will Keane will make the step up if he recovers from his injury.
Lets put city out of their misery
Dela @ 18:19: “RvP, poor form or not, has to start, and if Rooney also starts behind him, where do you put Hernandez???”
I don’t disagree about giving RVP a starting role but what I do disagree with is seeming invulnerability in regards to being substituted. Clearly, the guy’s goals from August to January were crucial – no one disputes that – BUT he has hit a dry spell. Whether you disagree with me – or agree with me – those two late misses against RM in the first-leg in Madrid were of critical importance; had he scored only the one that he flubbed then UTD would have returned with two away-goals and a one-goal advantage.
With regard to SAF’s substitutions – and non-substitutions – @ OT; I have to disagree with “dannysoya” (@ 18:45) because in the ten-man situation there was NO IMMEDIATE DANGER of caving in – CSKALondon did OK against Barcelona after EBJT was rightly sent off last year. The RentBoyz defended with ten men for sixty minutes, away from Stamford Bridge. However, my view is that since RVP is in a dry-spell and in a ten-man situation you need someone up-front who can nick a goal and keep the opposition defence backed up, Chicharito would have been a far, far better choice than RVP.
If that wasn’t bad enough, bringing on AshleyBloodyYoung while keeping Chicharito on the bench was just plain ludicrous – there was no reason why RVP couldn’t morph into a support-striker role. He might not be much of a defender but he could get in the way, hold the ball, and be a nuisance to the other team while offering something (fuck me – anything !) to our team. BOTH RVP and Chicharito offer something that Young doesn’t – goals. Anyone scouting UTD this season knows that Young is only slightly less predictable – and toothless – than AV7; neither has scored a single goal on the highest-scoring team in the EPL. Chicharito and RVP have combined for something like 38 goals.
I’m not arguing that Chicharito should start ahead of RVP/TheWayneBoy – although a case can be made for that argument. I am saying – just like Zibby has done in several posts on this thread – that Javier Hernandez owes MUFC no debt – and no loyalty – so he is likely to think long-and-hard about his future at UTD when he’s given so little meaningful game-time. This is a guy who is the iron-clad #1 on a national team that is ranked higher than Ingerland – and a national team that actually wins trophies; why should he be content to remain fourth in the “pecking order” at a team in a foreign country.
Like Inzaghi and Raul and even LittleMikey before he became a perma-crock, Chicharito offers something unusual and highly valuable – he scores goals, all kinds of goals, from all kinds of different chances. He might well be the fastest player in top-flight football – and, if he’s not the very fastest, then I’d wager that his first ten steps are quicker than anyone else’s – and he’s being under-utilized.
Maybe this is another case of square peg/round hole but if that is the case then it surely reflects badly on SAF’s ability to get the most out of his squad. Perhaps it’s a no-win situation for Fergy but, let’s be honest about this, TheWilyOldFootieKnight has a history of mis-using unique talents like Veron and Berbatov and if that’s the case then it speaks clearly that Fergy values his vision of the team above all else. So be it – it’s hard to argue with 13 EPL titles in 21 years and I’d not be so rash as to suggest that he’s lost-the-plot but I would say that the mis-use of Javier Hernandez would not be the only case in which he has been wrong.
The gaffer is not perfect – he does what he wants and sometimes that’s the wrong thing. Mostly, though, he gets it right. I’m not sitting on the fence about this situation – when push-comes-to-shove I think that short of getting CR7 back into the fold, the most sensible way of coping with the embarrassment of riches in the striking department must be to switch TheWayneBoy to the ScholesRole and to divide the two striking roles between three guys, not four. To me, that would be a very, very big win-win for all concerned.
http://www.byfarthegreatestteam.com/posts/picture-chelsea-captain-mocks-west-ham-fans-with-pretend-trophy/
Zaha got charged for reacting to crowd taunts. Are they going to charge Terry too? And Terry did more than just that in the picture
John Terry is a prick,he’ll get away with it.
Please can we drop the ludicrous “AshleyBLOODYYoung” line Denton mate, it’s getting tiresome.
Furthermore let’s not forget in our two possibly biggest wins of the season, City and Chelsea away he played an integral part.
King Eic I agree, fans need to be patient in the summer, when changes are made, just for other fans enjoy this season, while everyone else fights for 2nd 3d and 4th
@gexmex i’m not going to get into a pissing contest with you. I’ll just give you another example. Walcott has always been faster than Park Ji Sung. But Park Ji Sung is the more energetic player. If you cannot understand what I mean when I say this you will never understand it.
@Ziggy I have chosen not to answer you because every point you have made has been irrelevant to the discussion but since you have labelled my point as rubbish I will answer you now.
You claim that Atletico and Juventus are chasing him. Can you give me ample proof of that other than tabloid fabricated stories? If we go by your logic then Bale really is worth 70 million pounds because the tabloids say so.
And in case you haven’t noticed goal ratios are not the end all be all when it comes to judging strikers. Hernandez has a better goal ratio than Suarez, Aguero, Ba, Van Persie. Is he better than any of the four? NOPE.
@denton. You raise some very good points but in my opinion, Ashley Young played very well when he came on and that substitution was alright. Fine maybe Hernandez should have been brought on eventually when we lost the lead but Ashley Young did very well when he came on. Maybe he could have been brought on for Welbeck in that situation when we were chasing the game. I know that Sir Alex is not perfect and I am not saying that he is.
Also as far as Hernandez behaviour. A lot of people are trying to portray hernandez as someone that he isn’t. From what I have heard from Hernandez’s mouth all he wants to do is give his all for the club regardless of the position he is in. He’s kind of like Solskjaer who was ready to give his all REGARDLESS of whether he started games or not and he ended up carving out a niche for himself at this club. This is the way I see Hernandez. A new Solskjaer. Hernandez is best used in a super substitute role when the opposition is tired and unless he improves the areas of his game that I highlighted earlier, this is the way he should be used at United.
Mexico is not ranked higher than England and is not a better team than England is and yes Hernandez is the number one striker for Mexico, but can you name me the second and third choices? You probably can’t unless you google it and that should tell you all you need to know about the quality of Mexico’s striking options.
I like this kid Neymar, but he said the funniest joke of the 2013
“Who wouldn’t dream about playing alongside Messi, Xavi and [Andres] Iniesta? They’re all great players,” he told Esporte Espetacular. “I dream of playing Europe, for a big club like Barcelona, Real Madrid and Chelsea.
Chelsea? really, Chelsea? Madrid and Barca yes, Munchen yes, Milan yes, ManUtd yes, bt Chelsea? he must have been high. just saying.
dannysoya
The goal ratio is used to measure the effectiveness of a forward, in our times, statistics play an important role in every sport , so in terms of effectiveness, YES, Hernandez is better than RVP,Ba,Suarez and Aguero.
Now, it is childish and unfair to compare a player who has played 800 minutes against players who have been playing all the time, and last but not least, stop the myths and the cliches,Hernandez is not Solskjaer,
that’s why I agree with germex and ziggy about that Chico will leave in the summer.
gexmex – hell wil freeze over before fergie sells a big player like hernandez to chelsea
i think its the fact RVP is a big name player hes first choice qnd rooney needs to keep playing to keep his fitness up. i hope hernandez doesnt leave but with the likes of robert lewandowski looking like being signed he probs would leave.
@king eric agree qith you gibbo i rated alot just a simple midfielder with some shot on him.
i like anderson but he is injury prone hope fletcher can fully recover for next season. evra needs to step his game up.
Dannysoya. Top post.
Roboo. I know, I didn’t mind Gibbo. Simple like you say but never let us down and was rarely injured. He got some awful abuse despite as I say never letting us down.
@dannysoya
You make it sound as if it’s a no-brainer that England is better than Mexico. Have you even been paying attention to the Mexico national team lately?
England Forwards
W. Rooney
D. Welbeck
J. Defoe
D. Sturridge
Mexico Forwards
J. Hernandez
O. Peralta
G. Dos Santos
A. de Nigris
Not exactly the disparity in quality that you make it out to be.
And you don’t think Chico’s as good as Suarez, do you? If he played as many games as the Liverpool racist, I don’t have a doubt in my mind that he’d be competing for goal-scoring honors at the end of the year.
KingEric @ 22:30: “Please can we drop the ludicrous “AshleyBLOODYYoung” line Denton mate, it’s getting tiresome.”
Not as tiresome as watching him score no goals.
I’ll drop “AshleyBloodyYoung” when he justifies his place by scoring goals and adding assists. Right now, I’m just totally pissed that he gets so much money and contributes so little – as well as “de-stabilizing” his much more talented team-mate who both scores goals and contributes assists because of the disparity in their take-home pay.
RedRiverRed – hernandez on his day can be a top class poacher, but suarez is one of the most complete strikers in the world. I call him the best striker in the world, he really is the closest striker to thiery henry at his very best. But he is more than a striker, he is such a great footballer, and anyone can see he has been the most inform player in the PL this season
denton davey – yes Nani maybe more talented, but he has not been fit enough, or consistent enough, young has had allot of injury problems this season, so its been stop start, before his knee injury, he was very effective for united, and added the balance down the left, which was one reason why we kept outscoring teams, his pace and movement, with rooney and RVP in form, we were opening sides up allot
@In David We Trust
I respect your opinion, mate. But I stand by what I said earlier: you give Chico as much playing time as Suarez, and let’s compare goal tallies at the end of the season.
And as far as in-form strikers as a whole are concerned, Hernandez has been in pretty good form himself. His minutes to goal ratio is better than everyone else’s, if I recall, and that’s not by accident.
In fact, it’s a credit to him for maintaining his form despite his relative lack of playing time. Playing one match, not playing the next two, a few minutes at the end of one match, and so forth–that kind of routine–or lack thereof–would disrupt many other players. Not to mention the fact that he’s maintained his self-belief despite Fergie’s seeming unwillingness to use him in most of the big matches this season.
i think united should of offered hargreaves pay as you play contract last season he would of brought that extra cover that might of been useful to use
@danny top post, but I don’t agree on this,, Hernandez is best used in a super substitute role, because the stats tells us that Chicha scores mroe goals as a starter than as a substitute. But I will leave it there, cause I also think that he’s the “second coming of OleGunnar”, lets hope he stays that way.
@redRiver, exaclty mate, people have build this myth that Chicha is not good enough with his all around game, yes it isn’t at the same level as RVP or Rooney, but the lad has been doing everything this season, already assisted 5 goals for example. The myth is as crazy as Nani being inconsistent when the lad has 3 seasons with amazing stats, so if he was last year inconsistent with 10 goals and 12 assists, then what can we say about Young and Valencia this year? Nani already with 3 goals and 5 assists.
@InDavidWeTrust my friend, this quote “yes Nani maybe more talented, but he has not been fit enough, or consistent enough,” and the rest that Youngie has been injured, well my friend, Nani was 2 months and rested for 15 games and still has betetr stats than them both, and has hit form in his last 4 games, so to prove your point by stating that Young was injured, well Nani was injured too. And this season has been his weakest season yet, and still he has betetr stats than Youngie and Valencia.
But I myself Rate Young and Valencia, but I hate when people bring this inconsistent Myth about Nani, it’s a myth, period and get over it. The lad can sometimes mispass and play some bad games, but his stats tells it all.
Or doesn’t stats matter? how did we lose our title last season? The answer we know, goal difference. SO based on that proof, we should know that goals and assists will be remembered and not nitty play, just ask ANY arsenal supporter about that, would they pick a goalscorer or a winger with great stats or some nitty play?
anyway, no hard feelings, peace.
4 more wins and only gold difference can lose us the league
@dentonBLOODYdavey
So are you accusing Sir Alex of “de-stabilizing” his team by choosing Young? You sure think you know alot. FACT, Young has justified himself to Sir Alex, and has played key roles in many big games
You point out good points, but this silly thing you have against Young makes you look really like a spoilt brat. I am sure people agree with me the whole chunk you reposted removing BLOODY from someone’s name sounded 100% better. If you can’t respect a member of our team, I will never rate you as a fan as well. Just a glory hunter who think he knows better
And which by the way. If there is a player in the team who does not play to his 100% just because he is paid less, then I don’t want him in the team, whoever he is. That is the player who destablises a team
I see that the discussion is still here, allow me to insist,Hernandez is leaving,it makes sense,he is a great striker and the team who gets him ,will be buying a bargain even if they raise his wage to £ 100,000.
Some experts have calculated that Javier could be scoring 40 goals without problems if he played regularly,so again, do not count on him for next season, it seems to me that Sir Alex already made this decision, especially if Lewandoski is coming next summer.
Marq @ 03:48: “So are you accusing Sir Alex of “de-stabilizing” his team by choosing Young?”
I don’t think so.
The whole thrust of my serial comments about Young has been made in response to guys like you who will champion anyone in the red shirt, regardless of his inferior level of play/product.
When he flubbed series of chances in two consecutive matches a while back, you challenged me and so I presented minute-by-minute notes about his mistakes and poor play (and ONE instance of good play) in the following match – I did notice that you never argued with my descriptions about Young’s play in that match. I also remember that you did quibble with my claim that he had flubbed a series of chances in the two preceding matches – you said that one of those chances was “difficult”.
What you never acknowledged that this guy is an Ingerland international and was brought to UTD for a huge transfer fees(18million quid when he was in the last year of his contract) and provided with a weekly wage that puts him in the upper echelon of earners at MUFC. From what I understand, he’s paid about the same as Rio/CaptainVidic and as much as 50K/week more than TheGingerNinja or TheLegend. In fact, the information that circulates on this site and others suggests that he gets even higher wages than Dimmy received BUT he provides so much less end-product.
What I wrote earlier today (@ 00:16) was that it must get up Nani’s nose to see an inferior player – with radically inferior end-product statistics – getting 120K while the club is “only” paying him 90K. This has been widely reported and IF this is indeed the case then I would think that UTD’s negotiating tactics are “de-stabilizing” one of their best players while rewarding one of their worst.
I don’t mind if you want to call me “DentonBloodyDavey” and write that I seem like a “spoilt brat”. I’ve been called worse but – hey – “sticks and stones…..but words will never hurt me”.
@denton
My point still stands. If Nani is not playing to his best effort because he is not paid as much, I want him out of United immediately. Is this the kind of player you want?
I don’t give a damn about how much a player cost, earns or which country he represents, because that has no bearing on his contributions. Anderson cost as much, had much more chances, maybe don’t earn as much, but over the years has spent more time injured earning free income. Does that mean he is useless?
To us, Young is like a Blomqvist or Park. He does a job, and does it well enough. But you want him to be a Ronaldo, that is your own opinion. Just because he is not a Ronaldo, does he deserved desrespected like that? That is like a fan who will boo his own team when things go bad. We don’t need such support
If you have been called worse, something is definitely wrong, maybe you should find out why people call you names. Maybe because you did it to them first
15 points yay, but not the most stellar of games we’ve had, looking at the scoreline… & RvP is turning into a fading star, man it’s time he takes his destiny back into his hands, or face an exit like Berbatov, I can’t even remember when he scored last for Utd…
@Marq
That bloody thing was uncalled for mate. You shouldn’t copy other people’s material. Just call him DentonShadyDavey.
I kid. Not entering another pointless Young debate.
denture davey – your bark is worse than your over-bite.
Aren’t you a bit long-in-the-tooth to be mocking our player’s with silly nicknames?
@ziggy, I hope you are right and Lewandoski has agreed to come, because showing Hernandez the door withoug proper replacement is not the wisest thing to do. I still think he is not going to play in Spain, with RM and Barca as perpetual uberchampions, and his game far more adapted to EPL. Somebody wrote that SAF would never sell him to Chelsea, yet I fear that he may end up playing there, or at Emirates. Once you put a player on the market, he can determine his next team and both Arsenal and Chelsea will be promising him minutes and money.
The midfield is another story, once Anderson leaves we’ll need someone to play alongside Carrick, maybe in a more destructive role, leaving him with the job of finding spaces and producing passes, Plenty of players in that position, yet we have struggled finding the right one. I insist that once the title is clinched, the main effort should be to look for that midfielder. Carrick is turning 32 so it’s becoming urgent to man that spot.
@ gexmex
if hernandez does leave i thinl arsenal will have first dibs on him for letting rvp come here hope he doesnt leave. lewandowski said he would come united of bayern so thats good if chico does go.
anderson will leqve in the summer but i think we need to get cover for him and fletcher if he doesnt come back its probs gunna be giggsy and scholes last season in 2013/14 so i think powell needs to get some game time next season and should get and holding midfielder like strootman or even getting jones to be the holding midfieder
What proof do you people actually have to raise speculation that hernandez will be shown the door? The fabricating and sensationalising media i’m sure has nothing to do with that… Oh dear
No chance on Hernandez leaving. I’d happily put £50 on Rooney leaving before Chicharito, absolutely.
@Samuel
I don’t think it’s a case of him being shown the door because that would imply he’s not wanted or needed.
Like I said in a earlier post its easy for us fans to sit here and say he should be happy where he is now because as fans we would kill to play for Man Utd. I for one hope he’s not happy at the situation and he uses it as motivation to work hard and improve his game just like any other player would have to do. All I ever said was don’t be surprised if at some point Hernandez decides he would rather have first team football on a regular basis at a smaller club instead of waiting to be a starter with us.
Don’t forget Hernandez is a star in Mexico where he’s worshiped every time he plays for Utd or the national team. Would it be that big of a surprise if he starts thinking he can do better in terms of playing time. I’m sure he doesn’t like being thought of a super sub when he’s the star of the national team.
Anyway I hope he stays but long term I personally don’t see it happening. I think the manager will use him in some kind of swap deal to strengthen the team in other places then bring up one of our younger strikers to fill the 4th striking spot.
Dreaded Red @ 09:14: “Aren’t you a bit long-in-the-tooth to be mocking our player’s with silly nicknames?”
Second chiidhood, mate.
guys, dont you think dat rooney looks so sad after the game?
From Guardian Online:
“Lost in the narrative of Manchester United’s runaway championship challenge is how the goals have dried up for Robin van Persie. The flying Dutchman of the first part of the season has become badly grounded and has only one goal since 20 January. He can still point to the 23 finishes of his debut season for the club. Yet unlike Wayne Rooney, who is still a force when a barren patch is encountered, Van Persie’s body language has become distant, his touch uneven and his contribution to the team scant. If United were not 15 points ahead of Manchester City – and threatening to disappear further into the distance – the questions would have started a few weeks ago about what has happened to Van Persie.”
Some of us are asking other questions – why is he not being rested ? why is Chicharito being starved of meaningful opportunities ??
BREAKING!
RIO PULLS OUT OF ENGLAND SQUAD!
Rio!!!!!!!! YOU BEAUTY!!!!!!!!!!
UNITED >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ENGLAND!!! HA
Rios got more class than all those counts in the England set put together. He was treated like shit but the way he’s gone about making himself unavailable for this squad goes above and beyond if you ask me. He owed that cunt Woy nothing after the way he treated him yet Rio still met face to face with him to give him his reasons for pulling out. Well done Rio show them who the bigger and better man is..
Good news about Rio,thought that would happen.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/mar/18/rio-ferdinand-withdraws-england-squad
Rio had all the ABU media in awe during the game vs reading to then throw the piss, that’s classic
What a classic defender
Call shagger dear uncle woy
United till i die – i understand what you mean but it will be up to hernandez to either stay at united and continue in the routine of knowing he has to fight through-out a season for a role and even when on form, he won’t be guaranteed regular game time or drop down from the highest level and play as much as he wants, it is all about footballing sacrifice. Let’s be honest, the mexican would still be scrapping for game time at any other big european team, they are.littered with world class attackers who also aren’t fond of the bench, it is that competitive edge that drives the team forward and if hernandez wants to succeed at this level and playing more, he simply has to bring more to the table. People go on about his poaching exploits and i agree, he’s a superb sniffer of opportunity but at this level, a forward has to be the platform to the attack, whether people like it or not, he’s still short in terms of those qualities, he would start morr if the coaches believed his style was far more effective, his game has brought an impression of a striker far more efficient off the bench, it is up to hernandez to step up another level.
I understand he is a big star in mexico but so is shinji kagawa in his homeland, no player should handed game time due to popularity, he is part of the swuad and has to adhere to the rotation routine used by the club, he won’t play every game and has to perform when given chances and yes, he may decide that the grass greener elsewhere and i will wish him the best of fortune but in my opinion, he could forge great career at oldtrafford, van persie won’t be around for long i would imagine, he could be one of many attackers in a new look united strikeforce, acting rashly and feeling regret i’m sure will cross the mexican’s mind, i actually think he’s had his fair share of games and isn’t the only player dropping in and out, i just find it bemusing when i read people saying he’s having the “berba treatment”, the reality of the top level is sentimentality cannot be part of the equation, manchester united’s progress is far more important than a player’s broken heart, the most effective players for a particular game should be played, hernandez will have to go along with it but if he leaves (a scenario i do not want to comprehend), the club will have to trundle on but for now, hernandez is here and should keep working on his game to show he should be ahead of the current attackers, his goal ratiois good but his all round play is far from benefiting the team, he will have to step up.
@Samuel
I agree 100% no player should start because of reputation for his country and wasn’t suggesting that with Hernandez. It was more a case of his agent getting in his ear and feeding him some bullshit about he deserves to be a starter. Also agree he needs to work on parts of his game just like every player. Nobody’s to old to stop learning and giggs is the perfect exams of that. We will just have to wait and see how it all plays out but Im not afraid to admit I love having a pure penalty box poacher in our Squad. Players like Andy Cole, RVN and now Chico have always been part of our great history.
Samuel,
I agree with you,the problem with Chico is that any human being who has put heart and soul doing his job without receiving recognition or opportunities because there is always someone with more hierarchy above him, will begin to have doubts.
That’s the point,Hernandez is an ambitious kid, like everyone in the team,he likes to win and he loves to score,so I think Sir Alex knows it and he will give him the chance to leave in the summer, especially if there are good teams asking for him.
I’m sure that Hernandez loves Manutd but he knows that this is his time and he won’t lose the next train,so that’s why I think that Lewandoski is a done deal.
Everybody chant RIO RIO RIO!!!! Come on!!

Internationals should by U23 tournaments. .
Simple as.
The youngsters make a name for themslves and they arn’t old enough to become conceited tw*ts like AshCole, Stevie Starfish, and Redkneck JT.
FA’s also need to be put in their place.
I tell you one thing mates, “IF”, I SAY IF, something like this “Dream Football League” ever happen the, internationals will be dead and buried. If United make 20M for winning the EPL, and 189M for an 8 game summer league, you just what how long it take for United and the other big boys be havin’ some of THA….T!
O
Ha, nice one Rio. Took him a while but he finally realized United > England.
Costas Cheers mate. Don’t know about that. Think this is perfect.
If if goes now, Roy can say he’s done his bit and leave Rio out of the WC team.
This way, he gets Woy to say that he is still in his plans for these throw away game that ENG should win anyway.
Rio is playing England for the fools they are! And good on him.
RIO RIO RIO
Shouting it all afternoon at the ABUs
Firstly, Rio thel egend, well done!!!!
secondly, @Denton puts some very good arguments and yes it’s bad when he calls our players with names, but he’s a player nothign related to us, and the lad doesn’t like him. To call Youngie with names, well for me shows bad support, but hey it’s not my problem cause I know the value of Youngie.
Ashley Young is a valuable player for us. Is he worth the 18 mill? NO or the 120k? Nani is. BUT he’s a squad player who has shown his colours and is worth it.
The debate was won from one sentence of @Marq QUOTE
“To us, Young is like a Blomqvist or Park. He does a job, and does it well enough. But you want him to be a Ronaldo, that is your own opinion. Just because he is not a Ronaldo, does he deserved desrespected like that?”
If you get this, you will get the existence of Ashley Young for us. He is a overpaid squad player, but what can you do.
peace.
Rio showing loyalty to a manager who’s stood by him (Fergie) instead of one that shat on him last year and then came crawling back (Hodgson)
“one sentence”
yes rio!!!! its better if young lads are in the team anyway jones smalling caulker. england need to get the shit and old out.
Media’s gonna go berserk! Headlines all across!! Why cos we are ManUnited ,
We do what we want! In your face Woy!
Rio shows the FA how to act with a bit of common sense and a bit of class. Well done lad!
I am glad to find the kernel of old fashioned class and passion still burning inside Rio’s heart, we need more examples of this.
Rio’s reaction reminds me of this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJf5ZbumlgY
FANTASTIC NEWS about Rio. Now just go ahead and fucking retire Rio lad. FUCK EM. Just retire and win many more titles for United. It is a waste of time and energy. Save all your energy for football that actually MATTERS i.e Manchester United football.
As far as Van Persie goes. There is a good article in the daily mail about Van Persie.
He HAS NOT lost form. Since his last goal he has had more than 20 shots on goal 2/3rds of them are on target. It’s just that the keepers he’s playing against always save the shots. Real Madrid especially was where this was vital. Two absolutely brilliant attempts on goal. Two fantastic saves from Lopez. Not really his fault. he is doing what he did earlier on in the season. Apart from that, the service has dried up. When was the last time ANYONE served up a proper ball for Van Persie? The last time I remember was Rafael’s brilliant long ball to him at QPR which he almost finished had it not been fora fantastic save from Cesar.
And as far as this rest. How many games does Van Persie need rest for? He was rested for the most part against Chelsea and only came on when we were reeling to try and hold up play and get others involved which he did. We keep talking like Van Persie is a 50 year old cripple. He was rested for the most part against Chelsea and only came on late to bring back some form of control and hold up play which he did. What of the week’s rest that he got after that? Isn’t that all rest?
I agree that Hernandez should play more and he will probably start at Sunderland but Van Persie should NOT be rested for that game. One week is enough rest for a fit footballer.
WeAreUnited @ 16:38: ““To us, Young is like a Blomqvist or Park. He does a job, and does it well enough. But you want him to be a Ronaldo, that is your own opinion. Just because he is not a Ronaldo, does he deserved desrespected like that?”
If you get this, you will get the existence of Ashley Young for us. He is a overpaid squad player, but what can you do.”
Sorry, i don’t see “the existence of Ashley Young” in this perspective – in my mind (and from what I have observed by watching him in matches this season) he just doesn’t “do a job… well enough”.
And, Marq’s claim that I have “disrespected” Ashley Young is just silly. He’s been given a nickname -by an old codger – boo hoo !
I seriously doubt that he gives a damn – or even pays any attention to what we have to say on this blog. He’s too busy counting his money.
Rio mate well done c’mon carrick should follow him too coz roy shitson has no brains at all he is just a ass licker good to see him put him in his place ,,,,,,
Just want see a good game aganist sunderland we need to control the game better and really need a good and devastating performance ,,we hav’nt got over the madrid game till now ,,hopefully we will be back GGMU !!!!!!
15 points clear, cool.
Rio well done.
Lets get that FA cup!
Costas I had lol at your slim Davey!!! I wish in the last 2 years you would have felt the same way about the Berba debate as you feel about the Young debate. LOL!!!!!!!!
I get there has to be something to debate.
Record in PL short history 18 points clear let Man Utd break that and a FA cup what a year.
Our fat scouser cunt has stepped up and won a bunch of PL games as of late with more then a goal a game over the last 10. Big time play Shreck is.
@Denton
mate, I believe that every player specially in a squad as big as ours should go through some stages of up and downs, its true that Young was perhaps not fulfilling our expectations, specially after his promising start last season.he gradually went from glimpses of brilliance to more frequent decline in form.We shouldn’t always judge a player’s form only as an outsider, imagine you are coming from Aston Villa to such a club like Manchester United and suddenly find yourself surrounded by giants like Giggs, nani, valencia…etc, obviously there will be a fierce competition among these players, don’t mention the incredible pressure and motivation from the manager, let us also not forget that Young had done his job more than perfectly in some of the crucial games this season, in the derby he was superb.
In short I believe the collective performance of the team at the end should justify the decline among some of the lads, the important point for me is to retain that spirit of success as a team not as individuals, at the end everyone will know how much he has contributed to the success of the whole, the manager will probably inform everyone and make sure that they will progress, as a united fan I saw this many times and I believe it won’t be any more different with Young.
@Zibbie
Hi mate. How have you been? Oh I definitely lost a lot of time on that debate too. Especially since he proved me right anyway.
Denton Davey great response to scots continued rant of the Glazer ownership and Goat was spot on as well.
1. where were the green and gold for 10 years before the Glazzers bought the team?
2. In business we weed out the ones who only complain and offer no solutions?
3. What is the choice you would pick, a Russian mob member of Putans gang. A Sheik ? Another leverage buyout with different owners. Move ino the 2000′s owners take out profits. Fletch hates the Glazers as well but is a realist. Look at Andys blog. Top 4 and advance from group stages all good in the Man Utd hood. In 3.5 years close to no dept with FFP rules Man Utd to rule the footballing world. Will compete again with Real and Barca for the best talent. 80 mil CR7 and 50 mill for Kaka wow.
NW England no London, Milan, Barca or Madrid. Great point on Lil Pea, RvP and Rodriguez wanting Man Utd.
Every 2, 3 months STR comes out with the same rant about the Glazer. We do not hate Yanks, yea Right.
Old topic I can get on line once a week or so.
STR I love your blog but if not the Glazers offer a solution?
He is class LOL!!
Kabob doing well. Alive and I can walk. Working on getting to the Great NW of the US by Oct. Surgery seems to have worked just healing right takes so fucking long. Still broke fuck but working on that.
Dreaming of a trip to the Theater of Dreams next year.
Kebab oopps
Wayne do not let the cunts and wurms make you quit posting. Guys like you and Goat are needed.
@Costas
Hi mate, I believe that there has been many useless debates going on here, I was watching many responses and many different interpretations, unfortunately some of these debates ended up with irrational justifications and emotional breakdown and perhaps nasty pessimistic narcissistic attitudes.I seriously try to stay away from all of these chaos, rather put highlights on both individual and collective performances. There are some fellow REDS here”cocktail of old and younger generation fans” that I seriously won’t like to miss any words from them, people, I believe that there statements have serious impact on the provisional imagery of our club, those elite group, I respect them and always listen to what they say, other than that, its rather a waste of time to stay here listening to war of words.
Andromeda I just skip reading dozens of jokers post. hahahaha and the stupid ass fuckwits who have multiple usernames .
@Zibbie
Sure mate, I mean everything will be crystal clear when it comes to match day;)
People salting the lineup before kickoff then end up praising the lineup.pure comedy and against logic so to speak.
I want Scott to make an article when the title is official, until that day comes we go to be very weary, make an article, was man shitty’s title win last season a fluke?. Let’s look at ishity’s title win last season, they throw away a 7 point lead, then united throw away an 8 point gap, and despite the fact allot of our squad was ravaged with injury, man shitty still could not beat united on points, but on GD. Now what makes united’s this title win more sweater, and makes shitty’s title win a fluke, they could not even show what a title winning squad would do, go on and show the standards set, and retain, and these defeats and draw’s shitty have had, seems very much like they performed last season, unconvincing, and buckling under the pressure
atleast united took the title race to the very last second of the season, and united could win the title with games to spear, shitty looks like they cannot take it to the death. That is the difference between the 2 Manchester clubs, the red half live and breath winning trophy’s and they continue to play the game, and looking to build on that success. While the blue half, win a PL title, and the next season they think that is enough and stop playing the game, no great clubs keep winning and show that desire, small clubs fluke titles and do not have the attitude to carry on, and become quite lazy. And that is why when you challenge dynasty in Ferguson, the war never ends until he says so
Andromedaq LOL!!!!!!! I know they are basically calling SAF a dumb fuck and some dude who has never achieved a champion level on or in anything of life. LOL!!! Then some true reds make sensible arguments and or points. HAHA
a win 100 to 200 posts
a tie 300 to 400 posts
a loss 700 plus numbnut posts from the wurms like Dan88 Anti ect!!! LOL
Andromeda @ 19:13: ” let us also not forget that Young had done his job more than perfectly in some of the crucial games this season, in the derby he was superb.”
Yep – he was very, very good in the M/C derby and scored a goal to make it nil-3 that was idiotically ruled off-sides; but, alas, he’s been crap most of the rest of the time.
International football is dead people around the world watched united v madrid and barca v milan n loved every minute now we ave england v san marino on a friday n spoiled a premiership weekend n rio wont be going 2 rio so 2 england its chee rio
@denton mate I agree on this “I seriously doubt that he gives a damn – or even pays any attention to what we have to say on this blog. He’s too busy counting his money.” That’s why I said, it doesn’t matter how you name the player, he will not be offended, so it’s funny to defend them like they’re your family.
I myself won’t do what you do and call them names, I usually try to see the good in every player and when they leave be happy that we left some dead wight off.
But I recall again, if you can’t see that Ashley Young’s role is what @marq said it is, then this debate is one to agree to disagree.
I myself enjoy some good debate even if it means that opinions will differ and some have stronger ones. Anyway, peace and agree to disagree. at least from my part!
BELIEVE
Ashley Young is welcome to stay. He certainly can do a job and as long as his pay packet is tolerable that is fine.We have reinforced the wings, with Zaha, and i am sure that Sir Alex will be looking at promising youngsters again, leaving the Ronaldo dream aside. The thrust of the argument against him seems to be that he is destabilizing Nani. As much as Nani might be holding out for a higher paycheck, i think the rift between Sir Alex and himself goes deeper, more likely based on the fact that Nani has not received enough game time, injuries notwithstanding, and more importantly Sir Alex finally appeared to have had enough with Nanis inconsistent decision making. I feel Sir Alex looks upon him as a game changing flair player, comparable to Hazard, and when Nani stumbles Sir Alex fumes because of what is expected from him. If Nani does leave it wont be Ashley Young who is expected to fill in. Young has been drafted in, as others mentioned, to do the donkey work and provide a baseline consistency and competition. United will head to the market to replace the Portuguese, if he leaves, as shown by our pursuit of the likes of Moura and Hazard. With United recently hamstrung by financial restrictions Young was a reliable squad player brought in to do a job. Classic Sir Alex to combine the grafters with the flair players. With the shackles coming off we should be able to chase after more expensive replacements. Whether they’ll match up is another story… For me the broader concern is whether we will replace technical players like nani with the sort of out and out pacemen, like Bale, that are hogging the headlines. With Nani we have an attacking finesse around the box that is comparable to the best in Europe, as evidenced against Madrid. Its a plan B and that is invaluable. As usual will have to trust the gaffer.
Hi Zibbie lol ok won’t thank’s mate. With me it’s RVP’s first season and he was so wound up at the start think he’s got a bit mentally drained which is understandable his energy and intensity levels were extraordinary.Just the the move and the excitement have caught up with him
medumtum – the squad’s wide boys cycle has come to an end, it reminds me of the strikers in the 00/01 season, even though teddy had a sensational season, you felt that area needed freshening up, and its started with the zaha signing, who looks to be one hell of a player in the making, who can do what our current wide boys can no longer do these days, beat a man. For me,. valencia/nani/young were at their peak last season, and its downhill this season, the whole midfield apart from carrick kagwa giggs and cleverly there are huge question marks over the rest, chalk off the names, fletcher scholes valencia young nani, all their positions are up for grabs, and signing zaha is a start. So its gonna be a rebuilding process has new blood is pumped into the midfield
think we should keep nani. strootman perfect signing to replace scholes/fletcher powell needs to start more next season perfect to replace anderson. young is a good squad player valencia needs to step his game up. we defo need to get a new LB cause evra has been poor for a few seasons now fabio is nowhere near as good as rafael if buttner is the long term replacement he needs to start more.
Don’t know if this has been mentioned, read an article that Utd have made inquires about Bale and were shocked when told the asking price was 70mill,lol what a fucking joke
@wayne imagien that, 70 mill, only Messi and Ronaldo deserve that tag.
Bale is worth the money, but not more than 30mill, and that’s just my opinion.
wayne – yea I heard about that story, he is not worth that price for a few reasons, image wise he is not going to be a big seller, despite he is perhaps the best winger in the world, he still cannot match the heights of ronaldo/messi,scoring 30 plus a season, well in the other 2 cases 40 goals a season. He is not at a big club, challenging for the biggest prices, so he has no been tested at a club where winning titles is the key, he is at a mediocre club punching above their weight. At most he is worth around 40M.
For me, I have no idea why he is still at spurs, if he truly feels he is one of the best, he would have tested the waters at clubs like united. But Bale can be stopped, and that for me is the big reason why 70 million is overpriced
I agree wth Waynes’ comment about RVP. I think the length and intensity of the season is taking it’s toll and mentally he’s probably a bit spent. All strikers go through barren patches and Rvp is world class so he’ll be back soon enough. It’s also worth pointing out that he’s been pretty much injury free all season so being involved week in week out is almost new to him and looks like it has caught up with him.
Bale is over rated.
He’d be another squad player at United !
I for one would love to see Bale joining us – but never for 70. We have bought players from Spurs earlier with great success, so thats speaks for it, I guess. But 70 is way off, and we just secured Zaha so I don’t see it happening.
@In David We Trust. I’m just glad we didn’t apply that kind of logic when we bought Ron. Or Roo. Or Rio. You get the point
Morning guys. Has any body read Steven Howard article on Rio from The Sun. He is trying blame Alex Ferguson and Rio. Sorry could not post direct link using mobile here. Article is Has Rio missed a trick.
MORNING LADS!
YO SCOTT…….. anyone home mate?! HA
As for buying …. yes please! As for who or how much?
Think the club can make their own mind up about that.
If Bale wants to play for United, he will and we will pay what it takes. If he wants to go on down to the Virus and be jeered by folks that view him like a prized girafe in a petting zoo supported by fascists, well go on then son. If Bale tells Fergie he only wants us, then we will do the deal. He’s young, but he will pay for his contract. But I guarantee you he won’t be playing top ball at 30 if he goes anywhere but here.
Love this little stat from James on twitter
@James_0701
Minutes per goal or assist in 2012-13: Rooney 75, RVP 86, Suarez 100, Mata 102, Bale 128 #mufc
Roo for POTY then Ha!
But seriously United >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> EPL

Any chance of some new articles Scott? 3 days with nothing new to read and debate at work is getting old quick, god forbid I actually have to warn my money for once.
Michael Owen announces his retirement from football at the end of the season!
http://www.michaelowen.com/
52 appearances, 17 goals. Right, and he won it 1 time with us!
United till I die,
Forget the new articles! Just want photos of whatever bender Scotts on!
All going t*ts up around here
@ Fletch
Must be some bender at this point. I’m expecting a avalanche of new materials by 2pm today
I think all the talk going on about the transfers already I want to join in with my opinion
I think it will be a busy transfer market this time around lots of gossips and I think lots players will be coming and going ,,,,scholes,,flecther,,anderson,,will be replaced,,
Defenders will be bought for sure and deffinately one winger will be coming hopefully comming players will be ready for first team action already
Here are some players I would like to come to united luke shaw,,garay,,rodrigeuz,,or bale,,
Will never forget that deep injury time derby decider, well done Owen!!!
with me Bale has too much of a ltd skill set to be worth that kind of money,a lot of lads get on Tony V for being one footed but Bale doesn’t like using his right foot.Watched the game this weekend and he was playing right wing.Trying to do crosses with the outside of his left foot that just wasn’t working. His game is all to do with speed so not sure how his game will adapt when he loses that although Giggs had speed he also had more ability so he has adapted with age,i guess Bale could still get better but at this point he’s one footed with pace.
Afternoon Reds, been on hols, watched the RM game in a new york bar, what an atmosphere!!! (sarcasm).
Pleased to be 15 points clear, we could end up with a record points haul this season. Not bad for a “shit” united team.
I am in now way concerned about RVP form, he is class and will score a few before the end of the season. The FA CUP v Chelski is now our biggest game. Do them, then Do CITY in the league and wait for the semi final………
All in all, really happy with the season, as it gives SAF a great foundation to attack europe next year. Its not done yet REDS, but I would have bitten off your hands, feet and nose if you offered me this position at the start of the season!
Regarding RVP, i think fergie made the mistake of playing him for 20-30 mins in the chelsea game i would have also tried to rest him against reading, not like chicharito was a bad replacement. i just hope and pray hernandez does not leave club, i have that nigglin feeling he may, all it takes is one bellend agent to say ” the grass is greener in that club”.. and the rest is history.
Owen 1 Gerrard 0
Bale is a quality player but ryan giggs is one of those rare talented players, his dribbling at his pomp was superb and still is despite his advanced years, his close control and ability to find a decisive pass cannot be matched by bale, technically the united will always edge ahead of him. The tottenham man is a different player, he relies heavily on his pace and physique unlike giggsy who could slalom and drift past players with craft and imagination, bale is good technically but no where near as good as giggs, even at near 40. Time will tell with bale, he seems to be moulding his game around ronaldo’s, he’s got potential but we’ll see.
Levy loves draining every penny out of a football team, vast majority of the teams he’s sold players to, he has stuck an over-pricetag on them. if united wanted bale, they should have put in a bid when he seemed unsettled and less experienced at spurs or when he was at southampton, i think fergie would have converted him into a pure full-back though. Point is, bale is no worth 70 but with transfer windows dominated by oil barons, no wonder why levy wants scrape as much money as he can.
@In David We Trust how are you man?
your comment at March 19, 2013 at 00:27 quote “the squad’s wide boys cycle has come to an end” is spot on my friend! spot on. We will disagree about Nani, btu what life would be if we always agreed. That being said.
I also think that we are on the right direction with Zaha and Kagawa also. And I know that it woudl be stupid to sell all your playerrs at once, just look at arsenal, experience is needed, but we need to bring a new cycle into this team.
This was a great comment, I think one of the best, because we never tend t odebate or discuss on that, we only defend our players, when the truth is that the cycle is closing. We need that experience, but we also have to bring and promote more.
I have said earlier and this is my maybe 10th time, that Isay this same thing cause no one is commenting back o nthis issue, but I think, IF and WHEN we win this 20th title, we will see the new cycle and transition, SAF will promote more youngsters and take the chance and history will repeat itself.
A”you never win with kids” kinda history! peace.
@ lee martins winner
What bar in NYC did you watch the RM in?
NYC has tons of great places to watch UTD games with mostly ex pats.
WeAreUnited – The cycle of wingers has not ended as you always need a plan B or even C in games, depending on circumstances as width can be important in matches but these days, supposed “wide men” are more flexible and adaptable, the likes of zaha, nani e.t.c are all capable of playing any role across the forward line due to technical strenghts, even ashley young who is fairly limited can play a couple of roles, it is all about flexibilty and how good a player is technically. Kagawa isn’t a wide player, more an attacking playmaker but he could play variety of roles.
Bale is definitely moulding himself after Ronaldo. you can’t teach natural skills that the likes of Messi & Giggs possess. Bale’s freekick stance is a carbon copy of Ronaldo too
Bale is the best player in the league by a mile power and pace scores goal and wins games on his own.thats why United are after him he is young and confidant and will become one of the best in the world.
I don’t think Bale is the best player in the league, Suarez is actually doing better, in a poorer team for that matter. Pure footballing comparison of course.
RVP,Rooney,Auergo,Mata,Suarez just off the top of my head are all more complete players than Bale,Hazard has a much better skill set.Bale not even close to being the best player in the league just the most over hyped
WeAreUnited @ 14:29: ” IF and WHEN we win this 20th title, we will see the new cycle and transition”
I only partially agree with this line of argument – in my view, the “cycle” is constant not episodic. Just look at the number of “new players” who have been incorporated into the team in the last two years: MrJones, BigManSmalling, KagawaBunga, AshleyYoung, ButtNutts, DDG, Lindegaard, YoungTom, Chicharito, Nick Powell, and DannyTheLad. You could also add Rafael and Fabio to that group – I don’t count RVP because he was already the finished article and was bought for winning #20. AND there would be two more if Pogba’s head wasn’t turned by his agent while Morrison, sadly, doesn’t seem to have a brain in his head.
By my count, that’s eleven “new players” in the squad, as well as the other two who flew the coop – or were pushed out. So, if you add Zaha to that group coming on the scene since the debacle at Wembley in May, 2011, that’s a huge turnover which is well-underway.
Some of the regulars in the squad will leave this summer – maybe Anderson and Nani and who else ? surely, TheGingerNinja is finished as a top-flight player It looks almost-certain that the search for “Value in the market” will turn up one or maybe two new, box-to-box midfielders. Otherwise, with the phasing-out of TheLegend and Rio/NinjaEvra already on the cards over the next year or two, the NextUnited looks to be already in place. The cycle is well-underway.
United till I die
I wish I would of asked you before I went buddy. Somewhere near times sq, around 52nd street.
@Wayne. I hate to admit it but Silva and Toure prolly fall in that category as well. Certainly those two are the reason that City pushed on last season. Even Barca would make room for toure in their midfield and there isn’t a lot that can be shifted in that Barca center.
Agree that Bale is far too much hype at the moment. He certainly can, and likely will, become an outstanding player. Whether he reaches that true world class level will have to be seen. And Ronaldo could always beat a player, even when he first emerged. The frustrating part was his decision making after he did. Once that was sorted we knew he was gonna be incredible and he has continued to go from strength to strength. Bale would add power and pace to any squad but simply not comparable to Ronado which is what the British media seems intent on doing. Seventy million is approaching that Ronaldo figure when Ronnie was already a finished article, trust Levy to have that as a starting number…
@ lee martins winner
If your ever back in NYC Nevada smiths on east 11th street is the great for UTD games and home of the UTD supporters club. The Manchester and Irish lads always make it a good day out
http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=relmfu&v=ByxDCzmqrOQ
Welbeck needs a goal more than Robin van Persie.
@denton I maybe didn’t say it right, but what I meant was that we will do the final transition and then start promoting more youngsters, because that 20th trophy is a very important one. because like you said, we basically have 11 new players. But yeah we agree on this. Just that the final transition means that when we will not be settled only to play “oldies”, but put the likes of Powells etc on to play even if it’s an important game.
@samuel I didn’t mean, that it means the end of wingers, you got me wrong,
because wingers are and will always be the base of our history and achievements, btu I meant that it’s time to start and find new starlets from the outside (Zaha is a good start) and from the inside (whoever it is) + add the experienced ones, but who are the ones to stay? We got a great trio, but new blood will be needed, and maybe by winning the 20th, it means a faster transition.
peace.

Zaha fined and banned for 1 match for sticking up a finger against Leeds fans for abusing him while playing against them.
Terry gets nothing, and supported by the media for inciting the West Ham fans in their face, being out of the official warm up area, by doing a lifting trophy action and showing them his ass in a game he wasn’t even playing at the moment.
Well done
Info
Chicharito, in 2012/2013 has started 18 games and scored as a starter 12 goals and has made 5 assists so he has 17 points as a starter.
Chicharito has come from the bench for 10 games and scored 4 goals with 0 assists.
In total of 28 games he has 16 goals with 5 assists.
In the 2011-2012 season he started 22 games and scored as a starter 10 goals with 1 assist and came from the bench 14 times and scored 2 goals with 1 assist as a “supersub”
AT his first season he started 27 games and scored as a starter 12 goals with 2 assists and came from the bench for 18 games and scored 8 goals.
Chicharito has 67 games as a starter with 34 goals and 8 assists.
Chicharito has 42 games as a “supersub” with 14 goals and 1 assist.
In total of 109 games he has 48 goals and 9 assists. Not a bad tally for a guy who is used so little.
Supersub? Kinda yes, bu more kinda no. it’s more of a myth when you look at the stats of this and earlier seasons. Yes when he plays those 10-15 minutes he scores and is labelled as a supersub, but the reeality is different.
I am not trying to implement anything, because RVP deserved to start fro mthe beginning of the season and so did Rooney, but when you’re off form, you gotta hand it, no matter what’s your name and see what Chicha offers. I know we have tactics and so on, but we lost the title by goal difference, so stats DO matter no matter how you look at it, just ask any Arsenal fan.
Anyway, a new way to look at Chicha.
Another thing
Hernandez has netted six times in his eight appearances in 2013 at a rate of a goal every 96 minutes.
good night to everyone, and don’t take this too seriously, it’s just facts about stats and only my way to look at it and share it with you
good night fellow reds.
Valencia interview:
How would you sum up your season on a personal front?
It’s not been quite the season I would have hoped for on a personal front. I think the injuries I’ve had have held me back a bit. I still get the odd twinge from the last injury I had to my leg and that has perhaps affected my progress slightly. That isn’t to say I haven’t enjoyed the season because I have very much.
Over 4 days for a reflection piece? What’s taking you STR?
Bale is overhyped because he’s british. It’s the usual story. if he’s british you pay double.
Bale had his chance to join us years ago and signed for Spuds instead, blew it. Fuck him.
Sir Alex said he tried to sign Bale from Southampton but they would not sell him to United , he did not turn us down , at the time Sir Alex had concerns about his fitness levels he kept getting injured just like Giggs did at that age .
Morning Reds. What’s new?
How Callum McManaman avoided a charge by the Football Association over Massadio Haidara I will never know. If he had been a United player……. Right.
Good news for Scholes?
Telegraph reporting he will be fit for Sunderland….

FletchTHEMAN – I think the FA said because the linesman saw it ???? It’s unbelievable .
All Bale has is pace, he has nowhere near the skill set that Ronaldo has.
Dazbomer, Exactly right, but I’m just saying that over United players and managers they find a way to ban em. This reeks of extenuating circumstance.
Re the Mcmanaman incident. Turns out that our own Scott has his own view and seems to side with the minority that it was just football. I agree it was just football, but there are plenty of places where the FA look idiots for their actions. This is just the next in a long list.

Actually the FA is not to blame for not doing something about the tackle. It was an agreement that if the Referee saw the incident, the FA cannot do anything. So have to be fair to the FA in this case. Its a stupid rule to protect the referees, and should rightly be removed.
The one who should get banned is the referee or linesman who saw the incident and deemed it legal
If there was video review, the incident would have been handled within 30 seconds, well before poor Haïdara was carted off on his shield.
I don’t blame the ref, but the are made to look like fools. I do blame the FA who make the rules. This type of thing should be dealt with on the pitch. When it can’t be for some technical reason of like cases of racist or other abuse, the FA should always hold the ability to have a look.
The agreement that Marq mentions arose from discussions of all the parties. I guarantee you this, the players union and owners were the ones who pushed that rule through. It is frankly embarrassing that Football is the only major economic sport that doesn’t allow real time review of incidents. Video review in the EPL and UEFA are way past overdue.
Agree the whole thing is stupid. They say they cannot change a referee decision. But why are they allow to overturn red cards? Is that not a decision too? They are basically slapping themselves

Yes – and no.
I’m always happy to see TheGingerNinja on the pitch but, sadly, he’s now just a shadow of his former self.
I kinda hoped that he would fade away so quietly that his absence would be just as big as surprise as his return in January of last year.
It’s never a pretty sight watching formerly-great players trying to squeeze another year out of their decrepit bodies – RedNev was right to quit when he was exposed in that match against West Brom two years ago. He realized that the game had passed him by and didn’t want to embarrass himself any further.
With the decline of Scholes’ foot-speed, his large turning-circle, and his characteristic “micro-second late” response to challenging for the ball, he’s likely to be a red-card-waiting-to-happen. AND even if that ‘s not the case, his presence has an adverse effect on MC16 so it becomes a case of subtraction-by-addition when he’s playing.
Sad to say but this guy was my favourite player from about 1997 through 2010.
Loserpool fans on Talk-Shit : ‘Owen can’t be a Legend,cos he went to United’…Who cares,.Deluded !
