  5. kingmyl says:

Subs: Lindegaard, Rooney, Evans, Valencia, Young, Kagawa, Hernandez

I thought Kagawa would be from the start given his hat-trick.
Rooney surprises me. He isn’t fully fit or it’s a tactical decision?

  6. Bugzy_red says:

wow! not what i expected with rooney. great to see vida and ferdy at the back. giggs starting and a very strong bench.
    COME ON UNITED!!!!!!

Giggs for Rooney and Vidic for Evans? Big calls there. Not sure they were the right ones. Pleased to see Nani start though.

  10. Indian Devil says:

    Real Madeid :O

Hmm.. No rooney. Tactical or dropped due to poor for? Only 2 assist and a screamer last weekend.

  11. WeAreUnited says:

I said earlier, that this game will make it or breake it Nani, if he starts, SAF trusts him and igns him,

    If not, Nani is off.

    United, Man united,
We’re the boys in red and we’re on
    our way to Wembley!
    Wembley, Wembley,
We’re the famous Man united and

    we’re going to Wembley

  19. youCANTbuyTHISfeeing says:

I do think we’ll squeeze this one out but really not sold on the selection, Kagawa and Rooney had great last games, def would take them over Giggs and Welbeck anyday!! Hope SAF hasn’t fucked this one up :P

  20. WeAreUnited says:

Subs: Lindegaard, Evans, Valencia, Kagawa, Young, Rooney, Hernandez.

we have options BOYS, if we need to get there

  21. kk says:

@Dan,I suspected it too. Let us wait.

  22. wazza says:

    Welbeck? Wadda fark?
he will shoot everywhere exept behind the net!
saf wake up your bloody idea!

  23. five says:

I see we have been written off before the game even starts, Sir Alex has won and achieved more than anyone ever has and has defined our club for decades now let’s not start thinking we are better than him no matter the result.

Key Man? Tom Cleverley needs the game of his life…Gibson delivered for us against Bayern when thrown in we expect Young Tom to do the same

  24. redseven7 says:

We’re going to go for it looking at that line up!!Full of attacking options..media commenting that rooney on the bench will backfire similar to 10 years ago when beck’s was left out against them,i hope they’ll be eating there words tomorrow, come on boy’s!!

  25. Scorp says:

Vidic in for Evans is a surprise. With the speed with which Real counter, I expected Evans to get a nod. But the game plan here seems to be – push Madrid on wings and let them ping crosses.

    Huge game for Nani

  26. domunited says:

    Starting XI
De Gea, Da Silva, Vidic, Ferdinand, Evra
    Carrick, Cleverley, Nani
    Welbeck, Giggs
    van Persie

Subs: Lindegaard, Evans, Valencia, Rooney, Hernandez, Young, Kagawa

This tells me that Rooney and Chicha will be coming on together after Welbz and Giggs have run their socks off. I would have preferred bossing the game at the onset and nicking a goal to take the lead, but it appears that we’re going to try to hold them at bay, and then blitz them with potent subs.

    ====
    Real Madrid

    Diego Lopez
Arbeloa, Varane, Sergio Ramos, Fabio Coentrao
    Khedira, Alonso
    Di Maria, Ozil, Ronaldo
    Higuain.

Subs: Adan, Pepe, Kaka, Benzema, Albiol, Modric, Callejon.

  27. Toms says:

Completely unexpected lineup. Nani to start is welcome but unexpected. Rooney on the bench…

Most worried/shocked by Giggs playing. Madrid is a damn athletic team. Gah Jones (or old fletch) would be handy.

Fergie knows best and we have a damn deep bench to deploy later on in the game. Chica and Rooney will be powerful weapons.

  28. Red4ever says:

Now get up lads its time to do something no matter what team we have put tonight its done we cant change that now lets cheer them on come reds lets bring hell opon madrid

  29. Vishal S says:

Wow!! Now that is a surprise!!
I think none of us would have expected this line up.

  30. Gopher Brown says:

When he throws a curve ball like this in a big game, it often pays off. Remember Giggs and Fletch in midfield against Chelsea a few years ago? It was mental at the time, but worked brilliantly.

  31. Chicho The Lesbo says:

Yay!!!! We’re going to park the bus!!!!! Thats not United football. We go for the kill.

  32. kwesi says:

sitting on tenterhooks here. Excited to see my boy Nani out there though… Danny and Cleverley too!

  33. Fibes says:

That’s a brave selection. I mean, we were all expecting Jonny Evans at the back weren’t we? Either SAF is expecting the back 4 to sit deep and as such pace becomes less of the issue (I mean, Rio is no slouch over distance but lacks the raw acceleration of Evans) – or he feels the ariel threat of Ronaldo needs them both. That said, I can’t think of too many occasions where wee Johnny has been caught out in the air this season, one of the areas he’s really improved.

In a way i’m glad to see Wayne come down to the bench. In my mind it absolutely had to be Welbz and Nani, and one of Van Persie or Rooney had to go to give Carrick the cover he needs. That gives us more pace to break, more dynamism. He might not have the vicious pace of yesteryear but there are fewer better players to have for breaking than Sir Giggsy. On his day he’s just so incisive.

The more I think about it, the more I think we’re set up to rotate that midfield to cover Khedhira and Alonso, and to counter attack at blistering pace. Pretty much playing Madrid at their own game and hoping that the unpredictability of Nani and Welbeck turns it.

  34. Scorp says:

Giggs and Nani are our two best players to make those penetrating runs through the defense. Giggs can still cut through a defense. I am glad he is starting.

  35. Redblood says:

No Rooney? Wow…let’s wait and see how it goes

  36. santaClaus says:

find it annoying that most here have written off even before the kick off .. for fucks sake get behind the team and support.. i dont see any reason why united cant win or go through… for those slating welbeck , you were praising for his performance in the last game against madrid .. Get your shit together

  37. GFS says:

looks like 4-2-3-1 to me but could be 4-5-1 or 4-3-3

I’d like to know if Giggs is going to play centrally or on the left..

    Welbeck—Giggs—NAni

    Giggs—Welbeck—Nani

    Giggs—Nani—Welbeck

    Thoughts guys?

  38. Redblood says:

SAF always picks a team with a reason. I just hope to see Giggs in the LW not CM

  39. Jason gerrard says:

That prat with the skinny legs well back instead of Rooney, this is just like. Last season when we lost to shitty meaning we lost the title, saf making the same mistake, I would rather see Rvp on his own rather than see welbeck’s usual swing and a miss.

  40. Norman-85 says:

When the red, red Robin comes score, score scoring a goal

  41. chaosred says:

@wazza shut the fuck up… Welbeck was our best player the last time we played them and scored.

  42. andromeda says:

I haven’t imagined such lineup even in my slightest dream.Hope we are not defensively labile this time.but come on this Oldtrafford, let us rock the world.

  43. Chicho The Lesbo says:

I’m not Welbeck’s greatest fan. One goal that happen to be vs Madrid does not make up for 20 Bambi like falls during other matches. How easily THAT was forgotten. Hell, he had one Bambi moment vs Norwich. Let me see, hmmmmm, Rooney or Welbeck? Rooney 100% of the time.

  44. UnitedFaithful says:

Big night for clevs and nani..

  45. TraffordLord says:

The gaffer got it right by dropping Rooney to the bench. Despite his assist and last min goal last match, he has been consistently poor in first touch, distribution and general ball control…that translates to balls lost to the opponent and will ignite counterattacks. Just incase you have been under a rock this season Real Madrid are deadly in counter attacks.

Fergie will deploy Rooney, if he has to adjust tactical plan after half time.

I’m nervous about Giggs because when he is off his game he turns the ball over as well, but Fergie wants to gift the legend with his 1000th game being a Champ Cup tie…Oh well he is the gaffer.

  46. Fibes says:

I’m so up for this now, it’s actually hurting. Just want us to get cracking. I really think we have the right mix of characters, work rate, pace, strength, experience, everything. Shame about PJ and Rooney to some extent but there’s players in there tonight who are just coming into form – Welbz with his goal in the first leg, Nani in his last two games, Giggsy on the left, Cleverley is slowly but surely beginning to look more assured, as has Vidic who has become our rock. Then little Rafael, the littlest Brazilian with the biggest heart.

Really hope we tear Maureen a new one.

  47. alfREDo says:

    Happy matchday all,
Wow – big call from the boss!

  48. nanisgranny says:

Bench: Rooney, herandez, young, valencia, kagawa, evans, lindegaard.
Lots of firepower. i think its clear SAF wants to contain madrid and not lose a goal early if we do go behind expect roo and kags to enter swiftly, its a big gamble and im kinda lost for words but in Sir Alex we trust.

  49. Johnbosco Obiora says:

I dont like de way sir Alex is doing things. He should play young players not old players , wot happens to Evans and Valencia or Young i want Man united to win this watch oh!

  50. NBI Red Onion says:

wow – how will the MF cope?

  51. UnitedFaithful says:

Fluid line up the way I see it.Giggs can play behind the striker. We may even see him drifting to the left side to whip crosses in.Better than welbeck on the left who will be used I think more centrally.

  52. In David We Trust says:

PPl highlight guys like ronaldo ozil, di maria, that higuain could be an ace in the hole for Madrid, has for united, I do hope he knows what he is doing benching rooney, we saw the results playing giggs against barca, we got destroyed. I am happy cleverly plays, our best results have been when them 2 have started

  53. Costas says:

Welbeck is the least of this line up’s problems. At least he’s young, runs a lot and can press the heck out of them. Not sure the same applies to Ryan Giggs anymore. With all due respect.

  54. chaosred says:

@traffordlord The gaffer got it right by dropping Rooney to the bench. Despite his assist and last min goal last match, he has been consistently poor in first touch, distribution and general ball control…that translates to balls lost to the opponent and will ignite counterattacks. Just incase you have been under a rock this season Real Madrid are deadly in counter attacks.

    …..this this and this

  55. Esteban says:

Not the biggest story of the day, but Anderson didn’t even make the bench.

  56. santaClaus says:

If you have been watching madrid play you will understand the line up. If you attack and go after them , expect to be slaughtered by them on counter with their pace. In matches in La Liga many teams have allowed real to have the ball and counter them. When real has the ball for longer periods they are not penetrative as barca are , rather forced to take long shots which DDG can cope well. Teams that have beaten real in La liga opted to counter attack them rather than go after Real, which was evident in the games against barca, where barca played their usual game and lost the ball in the final third, real hit them with sledge hammer on counter.

Expect Welbeck to start on the right . Welbeck, clevs and rafa to protect the right. Nani is good enough to cause enough trouble to arbeloa which would force di maria to track back and evra to go forward.. giggs to be play behind rvp and keep xabi occupied..

  57. StatesideAussie says:

@Gopher Brown … I remember SAF fielding a starting lineup against the Arse a few years bak that contained (if I remember right) seven defenders, including both da silvas as wingers. I think it was a Cup match. Anyway, he started with a bunch of defenders all playing other roles — who then mounted one of the most aggressive attacking displays I’ve seen in years. Anyway, early morning over here, time to get the TV warmed up. Oh, how I wish I was at OT!

  58. gexmex says:

SAF wants the ball, thus the team he has picked. He wants to to control the pace of the game, and prevent them from developing their usual game thru the wings. The major problem is that we need RVP in scoring form, since Welbeck is not a real striker and his scoring skills are poor. I suppose that if we receive an early goal it will be Rooney for Welbeck, with Hernandez being introduced as a last resort resource if things don’t play up 15 to 20 minutes from FT.

  59. In David We Trust says:

Costas – he has gone with much older players, instead of guys like rooney and evans in their prime, I hope he knows what he is doing, atleast its not a stubborn lineup, like we saw in 2003, where he benched beckham out of a fallout, he seems to be benching rooney for football reasons, lets hope giggs 40 year old legs does not cost us, as we do not have no one going to man mark ronaldo. It looks like the exact same time that lost 2 0 to barca, in rome in 2009, but atleast its not anderson playing, as carrick and anderson do not play well together. My only hope, giggs is not playing in CM, but I am still worried he has dropped our inform striker in rooney, for perhaps an out of form striker in RVP, despite his assist against norwich

  60. UnitedFaithful says:

Fergie will have the lads fired up for this one.As long as they play their herats out,I couldn’t care less about the result.

  61. FletchTHEMAN says:

    GIGGS to start. GIGGS1000 Legend!

  62. domunited says:

Coleen Rooney via twitter: “Cannot believe Wayne Rooney is not starting tonight!!!”

    lol

  63. UnitedFaithful says:

We need OT at it’s deafening best today. The lads need support more than anything in such a big game.

  64. Proverb says:

I think the reason rooney is not in the same field
as nani is bcos the two doesn’t seem to get
    along
If you have kept an closer eye to them two
together, rooney special doesn’t like the way
nani play he gets easily upset and throw his
    hands about…….
I don’t know it could be due to the boot he
received to cleverley in training or just a tactical
set up, but still it is a really huge decision to
exclude rooney from the first 11 it show how
determined sir alex is to not show sentiments

  65. Jason gerrard says:

Hopefully wellbeck finds a muscle and pulls it in the warm up and ar Wayne on from the start .

  66. Costas says:

    @In David We Trust

Experience is great to have and all, but we have nullified any advantage we had from a stamina standpoint by fielding a side almost 3 years older than Real’s. My guess is that Welbeck will play centrally in order to somehow make up for Jones’ absence. But it remains to be seen.

  67. MadMan says:

Missing 3 players without Rooney: A forward, a midfielder and a defender… get bloody started

  68. NBI Red Onion says:

Well 100% we will win – but RM will target Cleverly from the start, I do not think he can handle it better than eg kagwa or rooney but lets see!!!! hell of a game to come in to after not playing in 3/4.

  69. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

Nani better put on the performance of his life in this game. If he fucks up here, its curtains unless he is willing to drastically lower his wage demands in negotiations. Welbeck as well needs to take the chances he gets. NO FUCKING DRIBBLING. if you get a clear sight at goal. SMASH IT GOALWARDS. Hopefully Van Persie is in the mood tonight cuz on his day, I cannot see anyone in that defense stopping him. COME ONNN BOYSSSSS.

  70. Redblood says:

    Pleased to see Nani starting

  71. Sushi says:

I just hope fergie didn’t fuck us with giggs starting. Sentiment has no place
Here he can get his 1000 at fucking stoke or upton park for all I care. It
    Better be for footballing reasons.
And Nani for fucks sakes man this is ur chance please be consistent and show us ur mad skills

  72. andromeda says:

Despite his thunderbolt strike against Norwich, perhaps Rooney was not 100% there on the pitch specially in the first half.Fergie rather went for free mobile player in Giggs and Nani with dribbling talent, at the same time he went for danny’s pace and power to press and annoy the defenders.

It seems to me quite astonishing as Fergie is playing this game perhaps in three rather than two periods. If we contain them with this lineup at least for the first half then we can manage whatever scenario happen in the second half.

  73. Dan-young says:

How many games have we won this season in the final 20/30 minutes. Clearly this is where SAF thinks the game will be won. Have nani, welbeck runthem ragged with giggsys clever play then throw on all the firepower in the 60th minute. Fucksake look at our bench compared to theirs. If were within 1 goal from them with half an hour to go and the changes start happening we have a good chance.

Call yourselves fucking supporters. Barely any of you can fucking support the decision making of the main reason we have got to the position were in now over the past 25+ years. Wankers!

  74. slim says:

Think that fella from the other thread desreves a bit of an apology as per roo.
If memory serves me correct, he called it and was shot down

  75. Proverb says:

Wow massive decision that of leaving rooney out
Hopefully he’ll come on and inspire us to a huge win

  76. In David We Trust says:

Costas – I do feel rooney should have played in the hole ahead of giggs, and I would have played evans ahead of vidic, esp seeing how higuain can float in behind, atleast we do have the energy of cleverly and welbeck, but I am woried at the age of that starting 11, we saw the results of playing a giggs against spurs at OT, we got ripped apart, so we got to be careful

  77. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

FUCK I still cannot believe rooney has been left out of this one. He must be so angry. Nani and Welbeck’s performance will be extra scrutinized now.

  78. NBI Red Onion says:

what a stupid comment by keane saying wayne on bench cos of contract situation – losing my respect

  79. UnitedFaithful says:

Not sure if Fergie has gone with sentimentality or footballing perspective, but rooney will be involved at some point

  80. andromeda says:

If Real scored, then wow bring on Rooney, Valencia/Kagawa and Chica…what a bench.

  81. Dela says:

Surprised with Rooney but come on lads! Everyone keep it toned down now, this is a night for United!

  82. Dazbomber says:

Keane the writings on the wall for Rooney , no it’s not he is dropped that’s all

  83. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

I still think Giggs should have started from the bench and rooney should be the one starting this game but I desperately hope Fergie proves me wrong. I really hope this i not a sentimentality thing cuz in the champions league sentimentality has no place. I also hope it doesn’t damage Rooney’s relationship with the boss. I would still like him to stay at the club cuz his passion for United is unmatched.

  84. In David We Trust says:

NBI – LOLhe is on over 200K a week, and he has 3 years on his contract, yea real contract dispute isnt it HAHAAHA, just another way for keane to have a dig at fergie

  85. chaosred says:

    @ slim it was daniel88

  86. LoneStarRed says:

Lots of emotion before the battle. Emotion suppressed. Minds sharps, senses alert, knowing when it come it will be swift and unyielding and brutal. One titian will fall this day and if it be us the let us not leave an ounce of regret on the battlefield. Expend all in our power to triumph! Meet the enemy with no apprehension and at your full powers. No quarter asked and none given!

I will let Shakespeare’s Henry V sum it up :
    “Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more;
Or close the wall up with our English dead.
In peace there’s nothing so becomes a man
    As modest stillness and humility:
But when the blast of war blows in our ears,
    Then imitate the action of the tiger;
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood…”

    in other words, get some.

  87. NBI Red Onion says:

please saf wants to win!!!! he said rooney struggled defensively with alonso and welbeck did better, end of.

  88. Fibes says:

@MadMan – In recent times Rooney has rarely been in the top 3 for ground covered in United side.

    Who have? Raf, Clevs, Carrick.

And of course, it’s about ball retention and one can argue that Giggs is by far the one to depend on in this area. Yes he sometimes gets caught trying to play the hollywood pass but those passes sometimes win you game. Point is, you can trust him to get the ratio just right on a night like this.

    BRING. IT. ON.

    Roma v2

  89. leaxan says:

SAF wants to make sure they don’t score early… and then when they’re tired he brings on the cavalry..Rooney, Chicha and Kagawa.. at least that’s wht i’m hoping cause Dropping Rooney just so that Giggs can play his 1000th match Against Real Madrid is not like SAF. HE always puts the club first!! Come on United!!!!!

  90. domunited says:

go to BBC site and it has visuals of rooney and CR7 – lol

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21672275

  91. alfREDo says:

Whether we agree with his selection or not – let’s just get behind the team please!
Just hope the OT faithful are positive throughout and pull us through!
    Bring it on!!

  92. In David We Trust says:

danny – my question is? if giggs was on that magic 1000th game, would he start ahead of rooney? adding the fact we have no jones to hunt their key players down, if this is sentimental he has put our CL campaign in serious jeopardy, esp if he has gone for sentimental

  93. Fibes says:

    @LoneStarRed

Bang on. Thanks for setting the scene chief.

    One and all, BELIEVE

  94. Mitch Kramer says:

@Dan-young and many others, just cause someone disagrees with a decision and has their own opinion doesn’t mean they arent a real “fan” or “supporter”. everyone is going fully support the team and trust SAF, even if the starting 11 is a huge surprise

  95. Fibes says:

    SAF doesn’t do sentimental.

    He does winning.

    Giggs is a winner.

    Plus in startlingly good form.

    Giggs > Rooney against RM.

    Nailed on.

  96. NBI Red Onion says:

i hate how they cut to adverts at good bits

  97. chaosred says:

I feel sick. come on NANI have a feeling he will score!

  98. kel says:

    Told ya Nani is in!!!!!!!!!

  99. chaosred says:

they are ther for taking on set piece….

    vidic to score!!!

  100. Norman-85 says:

more worried about the ref than the team – team is fine. Come on you Reds!!

  101. Vidic says:

Bit harsh on Rooney and Kagawa

  102. Fibes says:

    @chaosred

Or, Vidic to take Ramos out in a headed battle

    COME ON!!!!

  103. andromeda says:

    Nervoussssssssssssssssssssss

  104. domunited says:

waiting for the “if it stays nil-nil, manchester united are through to the next round”

  105. kel says:

One thing people need to know, Carrick and Cleverly must play well in midfield before you complain other people! Thank you.

  106. Chicho The Lesbo says:

How much pressure will there be on Wayne, Kagawa, and Chicho is they come on late?

  107. Mr C says:

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but no Rooney in the starting line up…wtf! Please please please SAF prove me wrong….

  108. domunited says:

” waiting for the “if it stays nil-nil, manchester united are through to the next round” ”

on sirius 94… there it is @ 10 minutes in.

  109. robbo2keano says:

what a bold move by the gaffer.
if united win this one there might be some speculation about Roo’s future.

  110. NBI Red Onion says:

Madrid looking much stronger. We are not getting into final third at all. Poor balls forward.

  111. robbo2keano says:

    Link anyone?

  112. kel says:

Our midfield cant even get the ball.

  113. NBI Red Onion says:

    COME ON UNITED!!!!!

  114. NBI Red Onion says:

Come on Nani cut out those loose quick passes

  115. Toms says:

Nervous nervous game but I think we’ve had the better edge to it… by a sliver. Crowd really lovely today. Ah I wish I could just enjoy that energy in person.

  116. kel says:

We can win if we hold the ball well. Our attackers performs well as of now.

  117. montel says:

May be time for some long balls, after all we have the height of RVP and Welbeck upfront. We can’t seem to get our passing going.

  118. andromeda says:

Danny is our best player so far.
    .

  119. xluciusx says:

Nani’s inclusion seemed justified for now, come on ladss!!

  120. kel says:

Nani playing well. Bright star at the moment.

  121. Marq says:

Wow, what a surprising lineup. Hope it pays off!

  122. kel says:

    OMG. Almost!!!!!!!!!!

  123. kel says:

    Welbeck kick the ball in!!!!!!!

  124. andromeda says:

    Giggs, the fountain of eternity.

  125. santaClaus says:

Fuck Fuck Fuck !! that was close !! fucking unfortunate

  126. georgejoseph says:

    fuck welbeck 3 yards out

  127. MIRACLE says:

    Given that Real Madrid
    have conceded 21% of
    their goals from set pieces,
this is an ara in which
    UNITED MUST
    improve

  128. Toms says:

I would never rate Welbeck over Hernandez and Rooney as unquestionably promising as he is.

    Looking like a bloody fool.

Argh Van Persie that would be so pretty.

  129. Toms says:

Er meant that as Welbeck is playing amaazingly. Fantastic teamwork on defense.

  130. robbo2keano says:

    @xluciusx

    thanks

  131. Chicho The Lesbo says:

    Ozil looks like Joseph Goebbels

  132. georgejoseph says:

    Rooney on the bench…………………..Welbeck ?????

  133. kel says:

Sir Alex tactic is putting Nani up front when they having corners so that Nani can outpace them and win for us.

  134. kel says:

    Welbeck!!!! Kick the ball in!!!!!!!

  135. Toms says:

We need a goal now. Before momentum changes and Mourinho can yell at his team.

  136. Another Red says:

Anyone here think that Chicho with his impecable positioning, would have missed Wellbecks last two opportunities?

  137. kel says:

Btw Real keeper scare the shit when Vidic came flying in that he punch vidic head.

  138. Chicho The Lesbo says:

Chicho is not worthy of playing in “big” games seems to be the recent trend.

  139. georgejoseph says:

lets hope Rooney is on second half……………

  140. santaClaus says:

why was that not a penalty?? he was cleary stopped !

  141. kel says:

We are playing so well when attack that we should been two up. Damn

  142. andromeda says:

    What an atmosphere at Oldtrafford!!!!!!!!

  143. kel says:

Welbeck always get the ball in good position or create good chances for himself but always at the last moment, he miss hit or fall down.

  144. santaClaus says:

Frankly we have been the better side , have been a greater threat going forward and almost scored and madrid are bit fortunate to be still in teh tie.. ronaldo has been quite through out the game so far

  145. andromeda says:

Fergie this season deserves to be called a philosopher, what a tactical masterclass!!!!

  146. UNITED4Life says:

    Rooney for welbeck

  147. Dan-young says:

Yeah welbeck and giggs are fucking embarassing us. Yet again SAF 1. Stupid United ‘fans’ 0

  148. santaClaus says:

Welbeck has played well and worked his scoks off .. being a pain in the ass for alonso and not giving alonso time on the ball.. if he maintains that for another 45 it would be great

  149. chaosred says:

chicho would not have the ability to stop alonso as well as starting attacks

  150. Costas says:

Going well so far. Tight defensively and pretty good on the break. Giggs having a very good first half his special role. The only negative is that we aren’t ahead already.

  151. georgejoseph says:

Time for Rooney for Welbeck. COME ON ROONEY

  152. Dela says:

That ball from Giggsy to RvP… oh my god… my heart nearly exploded… rvp tried to pick out nani, he should have belted it, Madrid have a weak link between the posts. Very unlucky not to be leading but then again so are they.

So far so good. Keep up the atmosphere OT. I loved the roar for Ronaldo at the start… then the booing right after LOL :-)

  153. NBI Red Onion says:

wow wow wow, Giggs on the right – who would ever have thought of that but the SAF – and its working, we are relying alot on long balls to score or Nani to but a gut and get there, but one of them will come off, that was extraordinary. Hardly noticed Ronnie. Saw more of Giggs. Who says Maureen is the master tactitian, who the hell would have thought of this?

By the way the person slating Welbeck above – want to say sorry.

I hope we score, we had 2 great close chances, more shots at goal, it will be too nervy to get to a situation where RM throw everything forward and score in last minute. Come on RVP, Giggs or Nani to score.

I have to say Ronnie does seem a bit affected by the occasion, look at his face walking out.

  154. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

Good first half in my opinion. Welbeck and Giggs have just been absolutely fantastic. Rafael is understandably nervous. The nerves should be out of his system by now. Can’t dilly dallying on the ball in your own box. I was scared for that split second. We NEED to take our chances though. Should have been ahead by at least two goals now. Hopefully this doesn’t come back and bite us in the arse. Fantastic concentration defensively. Hopefully we keep that up till the end of the game. COME ONNNNN BOYS!!!

  155. Dela says:

Welbeck is NOT playing badly.. he had a massive chance yes but he is really pushing Madrid back, he’s stuck to Alonso like a rash, to take him off would probably be a mistake… not that I don’t want Rooney on, I fucking really want Rooney on

  156. NBI Red Onion says:

I hope Giggsy’s legs hold up, the way he is talking on their LB is undeliverable and he was playing when before their LB was born..

  157. OJM says:

You idiots who think that Welbeck has not performed this half are blind beyond belief … he is having a very good game.

I used to like this blog because it was full on GENUINE United fans, but recently the idiots, bitches, moaners and trolls have taken over. Shame …

  158. andromeda says:

It seems to me that Real’s form has been declined after that two consecutive classico games.

Hopefully we will become even more serious in the second half.

  159. NBI Red Onion says:

Keano is a shit commentator, GNEV everytime.

  160. Fibes says:

    Welbz is a beast.

    DON’T STOP. BELIEVING.

    HOLD ON TO THAT FEEEEEEEEEELING

  161. MansionOfTheReds says:

welbeck is there to run at the defense, create problems and tire them out. Then when the defense loses its speed, Rooney or chicha will come on and terrorise them. there is more to a counterattacking than putting ur fastest play up front..

  162. domunited says:

i discounted the 1-1 as an advantage two weeks ago. now, it plays on Real mentally – they HAVE to score with 45 minutes left. will they make mistakes? will they foul unnecessarily? will they resort to diving? our XI need to be strong. a goal would be great as well ;)

  163. Rd5454 says:

Good performance but no way hide yr no.3 on the bench, nani was better than I think, vida was 90% ,giggs still so good ,Danny was very good but u can see as a forward his finish still very bad.

  164. slim says:

Wow just wow. The set up has worked well, that said RVP needs his game face on
We need a scorers magical touch and he just doesnt quite look right. Is vida a monster or what?
Giggs is touch and go.lovely ball to rvp though . I’ll bet kags or young will be chomping at it
Oh the irony if this ends nil nil. Has that sort of look. I could be wrong. An evening of guiness will do that to you.
    See you lads in 90

  165. McCee says:

Let get this over with… Not watching the game.. Loving the relay here tho..

  166. redordead72 says:

Welbeck best player on the pitch and btw offside for the three yarder. You guys calling for his head are fucking crazy,

  167. NBI Red Onion says:

Anyone who thinks Rooney would be as good as Welbeck in this game does not understand what Welbeck is doing, Rooney could not do what welbeck is doing as well as him, the person who has taken Rooney place is RVP not Welbeck, if we had not bought RVP Ronney would be leading the line. So if you want to blame someone for rooney not playing blame RVP.

  168. AlphaRS says:

How is Welbeck having a bad game? They just sang his praises on ITV HD.
If anyone needs to come off for Rooney I’d expect it to ge Giggsy who has had a very good first half but looked quite tired at the end of the first half.

  169. NBI Red Onion says:

Come on RVP shooting boots on mate. Put it in. I cannot handle penalties, we need to score TWICE.

  170. Paul Scholes Jr. says:

Welbeck is putting in a good session. Why all this hate, he has filled the gaps and positioned himself well. Stop being haters.

  171. montel says:

Seems Evra may have been right, CR7 demeanour looks odd. I hope it continues in the 2nd half. Then again we have done a good job limiting Alonso who killed us in the 1st half at the Bernabeu

  172. NBI Red Onion says:

I really like that dancing horse advert.

  173. seysha says:

fantastic tactics! mourinho seems bored!! GGMU…WELBECK ND GIGGS EXCELLENT…ITS A GAME OF PATIENCE ND MADRID NOW HAV TO TAKE THE INITIATIVE!! GGMU!

  174. Dela says:

    @Paul Scholes Jr

    +1 mate! totally agree!

  175. kel says:

Nani having the game of his career. Score for me and i cry.

  176. kel says:

    Nani!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  177. domunited says:

    YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  178. Toms says:

    NANI WELLBECK BOOYAH

  179. Sushi says:

    Suck it Nani haters

  180. santaClaus says:

FUCKING HELL ! FUCK FUCK FUCK !!! 1-0 !!!!!! NANI AND WELBECK AND RAFA

  181. kel says:

I expect Nani to shoot but he did well at that moment. Wow.

    Welbeck scores

  182. NBI Red Onion says:

    RAAAAAAAAAAMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nani pass, Welbeck deflection, Ramos own goal – we need 2 or 3….AGAIN AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

  183. seysha says:

    HOW IMPORTANT IS THAT GOAL!!

  184. domunited says:

officially a sergio ramos own goal. gracias amigo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  185. LonestarRed says:

    GOOOOAAAAALLLL.

Now the enemy is more dangerous because he will be relentless. But he is also more vulnerable. This is far from over.

  186. Dela says:

Our second top scorer from our last winning season is BACK… Number 99… Owwweeennn Gooooaaaalll!

But in honesty, Nani and Welbeck… fucking top lads!!

  187. kel says:

Now its still the same as 0-0

We need to score one more to take advantage

  188. andromeda says:

    Bloody helllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

  189. E_Alejandro says:

MORE MORE MORE… WE NEED MORE!

  190. seysha says:

    GIGGS RAFAEL NANI WELZ GOAL!

  191. kel says:

Am i hearing Nani cheer from the stands?

  192. E_Alejandro says:

Pressure is on, we need to keep it together. Let’s not steer away from our plan.

  193. Sushi says:

Couldn’t think of a better cunt to score an own goal

  194. Toms says:

  195. kel says:

  203. kel says:

You die referee. FUCK. Conspiracy. FUCK

Nani didnt even know there is people!!!!

  204. Chicho The Lesbo says:

He was looking at the ball, not the player. There was no intention to hurt. Bullshit red card.

  205. Sushi says:

I hope Ramos gets his leg broken that fuckin dirty cheating cunt

  206. domunited says:

Man Utd reduced to 10 players for the remaining 33 minutes. Let’s check the Subs…

Lindegaard, Evans, Valencia, Rooney, Hernandez, Young, Kagawa….

    ===

Modric on for Arbeloa. Kitchen sink time

  207. NBI Red Onion says:

I said the fuking ref was a banana skin – WHAT THE FUCKKKKKKKKK!!! Nani off – he is a !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  208. OJM says:

The ref’s first name is Cüneyt .

…might as well change it to count.

  209. Chicho The Lesbo says:

Now they’re going to play too defensive. That was a huge red card…changes everything.

  210. kel says:

Seriously, check the replay. He look at the ball the whole time. He didnt even turn to see there is people behind.

Seriously this referee is being paid. There is no way its red card. Dont let them leave the stadium.

Btw, I hope Nani confidence will not affect. He did so well. Shyt

  211. alfREDo says:

    C’MON BOYS
    We can still do it,
    Lets show all these motherfuckers!!

  212. E_Alejandro says:

Come on you REDS!!!! Old Trafford should be shaking by the noise you make.

  215. Norman-85 says:

It’s Inter Milan ’99 all over again – backs to the wall.

  216. domunited says:

    11 vs 11 is fair…. 11 vs 12 is manageable at 1-0 up … 10 vs 12 is ridiculous.

    and modric has scored. fack

  217. NBI Red Onion says:

I cant watch this anymore it a fcking joke sending Nani off once we were ahead.

  218. kel says:

We losing to one of the biggest mistakein football referee. This referee fired him and hunt him down. Worst referee. FUCK

  219. kel says:

If we win this match, we will win the final believe me.

  220. Chicho The Lesbo says:

who would be more important right now, rooney at forward or evans to help in the back?

  221. NBI Red Onion says:

Cunt the refs name is CUUUUUUUUNT!!

  222. E_Alejandro says:

Things are looking rough. I refuse to turn away and say that we are done. Hate being at work at moments like this.

  223. Chicho The Lesbo says:

    FUCK YOU REF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  224. NBI Red Onion says:

we were beautifully set to win this game and they do this!

  225. Mahesh says:

wow…as bad a decision as I’ve ever seen, and in such a well poised game…this is going to take heroism of some massive proportions to pull this off now…

whatever happens, proud of the lads…they’ve been massive today, and hopefully they can come out of tonight with the result their heroism deserves…

  226. kel says:

Game over. What a exciting match but the referr destroy.

    Quote from

Everton manager David Moyes on BBC Radio 5 live: “That is incredible. That is a terrible decision from what I can see. That is a really poor decision by the referee. It was never a sending off and this could really change the game. Danny Welbeck will need to come out and play on the left and it will be interesting to see what Sir Alex Ferguson does. He still has the best players out there for him, but it is going to be a long encounter.”

  227. domunited says:

and in a matter of moments, it’s done. bring on chicha and rooney for

  228. NBI Red Onion says:

    game fuking over – 2-1.

  229. Sushi says:

This is fucking bull shit fuck u Ramos if we r gonna lose
This someone needs to break that fucking talentless cunts legs

  230. Chicho The Lesbo says:

Don’t we have to score 3 now since RM scored 2 away?

  231. domunited says:

…for *… who cares. just bring them on and go for broke.

  232. E_Alejandro says:

    That turkish piece of shit…

  233. Mahesh says:

thats that then…that goal finished it…ref ruined what could have been a classic game…shameful…

  234. Toms says:

I kinda hope the ref doesn’t make it back to turkey.

That’s wrong for a sporting event but …

Fucking sham fucking sham after terrible reffing in the first leg.

  235. Mr C says:

This is why we need video replays for key decisions…and this why those corrupt cunts who run FIFA and UEFA will never have it….pure bentness. Bullshit on stilts.

  236. rvp is god says:

Game over even we cant score 2 from here fuck u ref your a cunt

  237. Joffrey Baratheon says:

We have been fucking robbed by that cunt! CUNT! I hope he fucking dies!

  238. domunited says:

Chicho – that’s correct, we now need a total of three goals to make it 4-3agg

  239. Andromeda says:

That was the worst refering I have seen!

  240. Sushi says:

  241. Norman-85 says:

we’ll be lucky to get the draw out of this – well done uefa – top quality ref for the biggest game in years

  242. mara says:

Every time ref need to do shit….
On the other side we saw that leak twice, and third time we get goal…hate when we get stupid goals and that has nothing to do with Nani s red card…

  243. McCee says:

So so disappointed with the Red card thingy…. Enuf said. Go for broke guys, u ve got nothing more to lose..

  244. Sushi says:

    I can’t stand this u guys didn’t see
That fucking cunt Ramos come load
The ref? Fuck u Ramos u cheating cunt fuck u truly

  245. NBI Red Onion says:

I feel terrible for the boys, what a shitty way to lose, if it was a proper game that would be different, but the ref won it for them.

  246. CoppelRED says:

    Fuck it!

  247. Chicho The Lesbo says:

    why ashley young????????????????????????

  248. Toms says:

Why do i even watch. Healthy club fucked by a terrible leveraged buy out. Champions league constantly sabotaged by fucking criminal incompetence… if that.

  249. Dan-young says:

The treble, us beating the virus, giggsys 1000th appearance. All ruined by that fucking cunt

  250. Mahesh says:

damn…if Welbeck was a better finisher, we would STILL be in with a shout!

  251. mara says:

We dont have that last touch for scoreing goal. I have feeling that we could win the CL this year…but now, with one player out…
I m at one pizza house, and when Real scored they started to celebrate like jerks, and they have one player more. If we would have all players they could play all year and wouldnt score

  252. Mr C says:

How do you say ‘you useless bent cunt, ref’ in Turkish?

  253. mara says:

This game is going to be like against Bayern…better team will lose

  254. kunal says:

    come on Rooney!!!

  255. mara says:

And i dont understand why we cant score?????????

  256. bbqbod says:

when is everyone gonna realise that champs league and world cup is fixed to fuck?

  257. Chicho The Lesbo says:

chicho must be in SAF’s doghouse.

  258. Toms says:

Crowd doing an honorable job. I hope this shit isn’t swept under the rug like it usually is.

Also holy shit our boys have batteries. I feel like it’s done and over but Utd hasn’t sat back and died.

  259. Ben says:

@Toms Yeah, it must be really difficult watching United have to settle for second place or the Champions League knockout stages.

  260. alfREDo says:

Proud of the lads tonight – troopers!!

  261. youCANTbuyTHISfeeing says:

As long as karma exists. U FUCKING DISGUSTING SHIT PIECE OF FLESH REFEREE

  262. Mahesh says:

    Mark here again.

  264. montel says:

Arguably the biggest most important game of the European seasons so far. The one every one wants to see. A befitting spectacle so far and then referee basically destroys the entire tie with a totally needless and absolutely wrong decision that has effectively ruin the tie.

  267. Stupidref says:

Regardless of the ref’s decision, two bad decisions from the boss, ashley young and Valencia??? common we need goals!!!! Chicha????? 15 goals!!!!! shame on you Fergie

  268. domunited says:

there should be an enquiry to see if the ref was hired by organized crime re: betting. i’m serious

  274. Sushi says:

    Ref gave them
The game they’ve played like shit since Ronaldo’s goal. Fuck

  275. Mahesh says:

gexmex: way to rub salt on the wound…we played brilliant – the result is no reflection on us, only one one man – the ref!

  276. Marq says:

Disgraceful performance from the ref. Really cant recall one this bad before.

  280. Sushi says:

I don’t want mourinho Cunt anywhere near my team his
Teams are always cheating cunts. I say again fuck u Ramos hope u get ur legs
    Broken

  281. mara says:

Ref is guilty for Nani s red card, but WE ARE GUILTY FOR MISSING CHANCES! WE COULD WIN WITH 10 PLAYERS!

  282. Mahesh says:

really, some of you having a go at some of the players and SAF for not bringing on Chicho after having watched the entire game…pathetic!

  283. Hans says:

    Well done lads!!!!!

We should not let this ref leave OT tonight!!!!

  284. evisu says:

    Orebro 2.0
ITS FUCKING DISGRACE as Drogba would’ve said..

  286. Andromeda says:

What a terrible end to the most beautiful match ever.I am in tears.

  287. onlydale says:

Terrible decision robbed Kagawa &/ Hernandez of a night of glory there.

  288. NBI Red Onion says:

WE WERE THE BETTER TEAM AND THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS THAT SO FUCK THE SCORE AND THE REF IS A WHORE. MAUREEN PROBABLY PAID HIM.

But we can hold our heads up high, we were the better team. no question, with the strength we had on the bench we would have won this with 11 men.

    A WRITE OFFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was not a game, this was a mockery of what a game should be, joke of a bloody ref who was in the Europa league last year.

  289. Dan-young says:

Sushi the fucking ref made the fucking call!! Stop fucking talking about ramos. I couldnt care less what he fucking said, the ref ruined the whole fucking game!!!! Now shut the fuck up about ramos

  290. mara says:

That jerk Modric…hate him…he s not scoreing, but today he scored…jackass

  291. Red Neville says:

A brave effort, but let’s not get carried away with the implications of the sending off – which everyone can see was a joke of a decision – Real had 63% of possession before the sending off and only made our task harder than it already was.

  292. bbqbod says:

    FIXED

  293. LonestarRed says:

There it is. We are undone. Treachery most foul aka the Turkish referee.

  294. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

SIGH. I don’t know where to start.
i am proud of the boys. They played their hearts out. We had enough chances even with ten men. Welbeck has finally grown up. What a monster performance from him. That was NEVER a red card. Nani has not seen Arbeloa. He doesn’t even know he is coming and kicks him by the sides. He nearly even missed him and Arbeloa’s legs were partly up as well. Ah well. Hopefully we beat Chelsea on Sunday. I can bet you UEFA will ban Fergie and leave the ref. Congrats Platini, you have your Spanish team in the Quarterfinals.

Well today has ended with me knowing one thing. We can DEFINITELY beat Real Madrid in a farily refereed game.

  295. Hans says:

The Turk cunt was 100% bribed by Spanish fascists!!!!

There are no more corrupt football officials than in Turkey!!!!How can they give this match to this idiot is beyond belief!!!!

  296. ahjs says:

Why not change immediately and try and defend? Fuck me, we only made changes when we were 2-1 down and had pretty much lost.

And I don’t think it was a sending off, but whether his eyes are on the player or the ball doesn’t matter in the rules. Dangerous play is up to the referees discretion. You play a guy like Nani in the biggest game of the season, when you don’t normally trust him, you risk getting fucked. And we were.

  297. mara says:

Borussia is in quaterfinal and we are not…weee clubs will be there and we will not

  298. Dan-young says:

Roy keane legendary status : removed

  299. parthi says:

    Totally unfair .. heartbroken

  300. Sushi says:

U fucking ppl dont understand shit. Ramos that FUCKING FILTHY CUNT went straight to the ref didnt even bother checking on his player and told the ref to send Nani off. We dominated those fucking cheating cunts right till the end. The ref fucked us over

  301. LonestarRed says:

Those missed chances in Madrid loom so large now !

  302. NBI Red Onion says:

@ Theredderdevil – yeah what we need cunts like you – go fuk the ref you wanker, you are half way up his ass already.

  303. gexmex says:

Mahesh we needed goals, not brilliant play. Refs are part of the game always, and I have seen United overcoming worse refs and coming back. For some reason unknown to us, SAF decided not to play Hernandez, thus reducing our chances of scoring. After the match against Norwich I said that Hernandez was the new Berbatov, and I think I was right. For all practical purposes he is no longer an United player.

  304. santaClaus says:

Jose says best team lost and real madrid didnt deserve to win .. fucker rubbing salt in the wounds

  305. Mahesh says:

Jose Mourinho to ITV Sport: “Independent of the decision, the best team lost. We didn’t deserve to win but football is like this.

“I am not speaking about the decision as I am not sure about it. Independent of that, the best team lost.”

    Respect!

  306. safichan says:

after we gave the league title to shitty last season…i really dont expect we will win treble or even CL this season…the most important thing is to win back the league…and fa cup…coz we has not win the fa cup for a very long time…after that we strengthen our team in the summer for CL glory next season…GGMU…

  307. NBI Red Onion says:

Keano has become one bitter twisted fuk. Still a legend but one who has damaged his relationship with Club and fans with the bitter shit that sometimes comes out of his mouth.

  308. georgejoseph says:

Keano on itv is a very bitter,,,,,,,,,Nani should be sent off

  309. In David We Trust says:

    Roy Keane really is deluded

  310. Proverb says:

Fletch was right this ref had a game plan right from

  311. OJM says:

Roy Keane is now struck off my list of Man United legends. I hate the bitter Paddy cunt.

  312. slim says:

Fuck chico and fuck you mahesh

  313. medumtum says:

Cant believe this ref. If i recall correctly Collina was the ref in 2003. If anything the refs should be more cautious in brandishing cards. Credit to the lads though, kept fighting till the end. Amazing interview by mourinho by the way.

  314. parthi says:

Oh dear .. Jose Mourinho just said best team lost..

  315. rory says:

stinks of rot these 2 legs do!! oh yeah what do Reals sponsors, BWIN, online gambling is it?

  316. Mahesh says:

gexmex: kind of an overstatement to say that Hernandez is finished at United…

  317. cristianophan says:

Roy Keane, lol, what a cunt, how is that a red card u twat

  318. Dazbomber says:

Roy Keane is a bitter twat

  319. georgejoseph says:

    Keano is a toss bag

  320. RedRiverRed says:

    @Mahesh

I’m so very sorry we’ve upset your delicate sensibilities. Please be so kind as to let us know when you think it is finally an appropriate time to discuss Fergie’s line-up and subsitutions.

I for one will be waiting on pins and needles.

  321. chaosred says:

roy keane can seriously suck my cock

  322. MEXICO is RED says:

I truly believe that SAF does not trust in Chicharito for this kind of games.
Stupid referee but Welbeck missed a great chance a one meter of glory, the kind of chances that Chicharito love to scores.

Anyway Manchester United is the best and great football club in the fucking universe.

  323. 53 to brooks bar says:

Oh my God. Roy Keane fucking shame on you. You sad bitter twat.

  324. santaClaus says:

    Keane has fucking lost it
he says its a red card and u cant raise the foot
    wanker
he would have done that himself
and then he says rooney was dropped because of a contract issue two years back

No disrecpts to keane , he is my all time united favourite , but what he is going on about is bollocks ..

  325. Mahesh says:

Roy Keane was always a cunt, we just never saw it because he was in a United shirt…simple as…he’s hardly legend material..now Giggsy, thats a legend!

  326. Billy says:

    Roy Keane what a prickly!

  327. Diego says:

We played the perfect game tonight up until the fucking Turkish cocksucking twat of a primate decided it was time for some headline taking action. Fucking twat I hope he gets gassed by Adolf Hitler when he dies from sucking to much Platini cock.

Seriously how the fuck can he judge that it was a straight red? What is it with English sides getting fucked in the CL by inept fucking referees? Just a couple: RVP red against Barca, Agent Tom henning against Chelsea, Us against Bayern, Tonight…

  328. georgejoseph says:

still think that Rooney should of started.

  329. Joffrey Baratheon says:

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Roy Keane is an absolute cunt of a person. What a bitter, over gown baby. A big sincere fuck you Keane from me, piece of shit!

  330. Mahesh says:

@redriverred: sure, will let you know…if you really think fergie’s team selection had anything to do with the result, i have no idea what game you were watching…

  331. Dela says:

As an Irish Manchester United fan, we are used to Roy Keane talking shit about Ireland too. In 2009 he immediately acted like Ireland had nothing to complain about when Henry handled the ball and crossed it to gallas to score and make sure we didnt get into the world cup. In 2012, while we were awful in Poland and Ukraine, he attacked the fans for singing. He’s a prick who likes headlines, simple as that.

If that’s dangerous play there should be about four red cards every fucking game.

I’m fucking sick. Again just as u 2010 when we had Munich beaten… we had Madrid beaten tonight and a red card sent us out.

  332. Kungfoocantona says:

Fuck roy keane who cares. Well done boys we did what we could and should be proud. Ref cost us aswell as some great goalkeeping. Very proud to be a red tonite.. And fair play to mourinho. Well said mate

  333. eric1966cantona says:

Roy…..go and walk the dog. Great player, shit manager, shit pundit. Pint of Bitter please….

  334. Andromeda says:

To be fair and am so sorry to say this, Nani intentionally had a second attempt to kick Arbeloa”a moment of madness”.regardless of that incident we didn’t deserve to lose the game.I am sure Fergie wouldn’t be happy either with Nani when he privately see the replay.but clearly then As Mourinho said”the best team lost”

  335. Diego says:

Yeah and a pity that we wasted a fuckload of chances, but you can’t criticize the player’s effort.

  336. Ed says:

Fuck off Keane you bitter, bitter cunt. I knew he’d be on the side of the ref. Get over it you big baby.

  337. Toms says:

    Hey guys.

At least we got a great showing by our boys.

God I am angry. Thi sis why I don’t watch as much as I did.

  338. Rd5454 says:

Fxxk the ref uefa FIFA virus Fxxk u all thief fxxking
And I don’t like the urgent plan from sir Alex change too late let the time running out, u must act when lose the second because we want fxxking two ,young is ok because we want pace energy to win back the ball but ignore chicha and kagawa was wrong ,for me I even let vida to go for forward after 85 fxxking and Ronnie do a favor to us ,he give up and no go after 2-1 ,come back next yrs and now we MUST win the others.

  339. chaosred says:

    well done giggs!!!!

  340. Goat Peticoat says:

What did you fucking twats believe was going to happen.
You dozey bastards actually believe in fair play and fairness.

A priest fucks a kid and the pope and bishops chastise the kids family. The british press expose corruption in football and Blatter and company chastise British Football. You have a french man in charge of UEFA and a Turk refereeing a game between Morish Nazis and the English. If life was full of honour rules and fairness you wouldnt see black players play for a team that make monkey chants week in week out BUT what we see is the flow of money.

We didnt pay enough to the ref. We dont provide child prostitutes to UEFA dignortories. Shame on you manc scums for not letting a greasy unelected over payed eurobeaurocrat from being 2 knuckles deep in your seven year olds. We would have won otherwise.

  341. Marq says:

Well, the ref ruined it, but to be honest, we had our chances to score, before our goal & after going behind. We panicked after going a man down, like we did against Bayern. Needed some cool heads but alas, it wasn’t to be.

Not suggesting anything, but a club our size, playing one of the biggest game ever, had to put a 40 year old in there, and at the same time dropping our highest paid player, just didn’t feel right. We have won all our big games this season playing 4-4-2, taking the game to the opposition, and the first time this season we try to hold back, we lost.

Hernandez must be feeling what Berbatov did, having proven himself with goals, only to shafted aside without a chance to contribute

All in all, we did well over the 2 legs, apart for the 20mins after Nani got sent off. Hopefully with Barca’s decline, we have a better shout next year

  342. In David We Trust says:

ah yes we never got a penalty

  343. matt says:

Unbelieveable.. As disappointed and depressed as I am, I was so proud of the boys tonight. They played out of their skin and absolutely dominated RM. RM had nothing on us (The RM keeper Lopez, who is an obvious cunt, had a blinder). The boys defended well, attacked well, everything came together perfectly (Except for THAT decision). I’m so proud of them.

  344. Musab says:

I watch Turkish football. Cuneyt Cakir is known for giving cards out like a demented cunt. He has never touched a football before in his life. Thats the reason he sees a simple thing like bringing down a high ball as an automatic red card offense. A few years back he gave out 5 utterly bullshit red cards in a Galatasaray-Fenerbahce game.

Also, Keane is no longer anyone that I would look upon fondly.

  345. Unitedyankee says:

Fox soccer in US showed 5 red cards from this ref since 2011 march all to English teams. Every major call went there way today. As Lonestar red said chances first leg and this leg not taken. Their goalie had a lot of luck today.

  346. Andromeda says:

We were so great but we lost, the fans were all amazing.what could you say other than shedding tears;-(

  347. Diego says:

    Andromeda:
You can’t judge the incident in isolation. Both players went for the ball, Nani wasn’t even aware of Arbeloa, and they fucking collided. It was never a straight red, never. As a referee you have to take everything into account, not just looking if the boot is high.

  348. Sushi says:

Roy keane go fuck off mate u’re a bitter twat. sad sad fucking day when someone like him turns on his own club to appear Unbiased on a fucking shit hole like ITV……disgraceful hang ur head in shame.
As for Madrid, well the spanish have perfected the Italian art of diving, cheating, lying creating bull shit red cards and nagging refs.

  349. Dela says:

There was nothing wrong with Fergie’s selection. Nothing at all. Welbeck did a fantastic job. When we went down to ten the entire game changes because Madrid had space, we could smother them anymore. We conceded 2 in a couple of minutes, from there it was just over. Rooney had a couple of chances, RvP did too, we had plenty of chances but all of a sudden their stand in keeper becomes a hero. It’s just a horrible way to go out but its not Fergie’s fucking fault, had it stayed 11 v 11 we’d be celebrating now.

  350. keanosalegend says:

by the letter of the law it is a red

  351. Dicko says:

Beaten by the Fascist club and cheating Ottomans. Well, that’s Spain and Turkey off the list of holiday possibles.

Up for anyone now to prevent the Fascists achieving the ‘decima’ (as if the first five they won counted for anything!)

  352. Xyth says:

As of tonight I have lost all respect for Roy Keane!
What a bitter arse hole he has become!!!!

  353. santaClaus says:

What are the wankers m keys souness and the scousers talking about the relation between rooney and fergie .. fucking hell talk about the refs decision .. fucking twats .. these idiots are being paid shit loads to talk rubbish ,, i can fucking do that for fucks sake

  354. RedRich says:

So that confirms it then, Roy Keane has totally lost his marbles. What a nasty man, disgusting comments. Lee Dixon made far more sense than that twat.

Arbeloa made no attempt to win the ball and did a classic Liverpool roll about on the floor.

    At least Mourinho was honourable

  355. Rd5454 says:

To dear fans: if giggs or scholes retired and said something like keano,is they from great legend become a fxxking cunt ?

  356. Lawman10 says:

What a bitter twat Roy Keane has turned into,
Talking shite and giving out put downs on united
Don’t ever call this cunt a legend not fit to lace giggs boots !

  357. Chrisjo says:

Sorry for my earlier comment sir Alex got his team selection spot on. Roy keane thought it was a definite sending off, what planet is he on!!!

  358. E_Alejandro says:

I have lived in Turkey and their perception of English play is that it is rough and physical. Clearly such rubbish perception was shown. Low piece of shit!!!! Corrupted as fuck.

  359. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

FOR FUCK’S SAKE what the fuck is Roy Keane saying there? The tackle on it’s own deserves a yellow card but it is intent that changes a yellow to a red card. Nani has not seen Arbeloa coming. His eyes are clearly fixed on the ball. That is why certain handballs are not given as penalties, BECAUSE THEY AREN’T DELIBERATE YOU MONG. Man Roy Keane is really gettin on my nerves. You’re a legend and I respect you but KEEP IT THAT WAY.

  360. Sushi says:

Yes Rd5454 they would be cunts. Keane is so bitter at Fergie its unreal…..Giggs and scholes would never in their life say shit like this. Who”se he think he is??

  361. Costas says:

Lost out to a team playing with an extra man. Not just for the last 35 minutes of this game, but over the course of both games. Don’t forget the role the German played in the first leg. Nothing to be ashamed of. I do feel that we should have been a bit more adventurous after the red card instead of sitting back, but that’s mere detail. As Mourinho correctly said, the best team lost.

    Onto the double.

  362. Toms says:

What if there was an organized Boycott of Heinekin in response to this game. Surely we can get the chelsea fans on our side for the poor reffing in barca v chelsea.

  363. tr says:

Sometimes I pretty much hate football…

  364. Andromeda says:

I am so proud of my team, you know when any team play with 10 players against Real Madrid, everybody knows that you will be killed.but praise to our fans, our manager and our fountain of eternity Sir Ryan.

  365. Goat Peticoat says:

    Dicko

Why the fuck would you want to go to Turkey. Ill not wash for a week, put boot polish on my face, use cinnamon as an aftershave, rip you off whe buying a carpet, pester you, give you the shits, spit in your foood ………..

save the money give it to me, ill spend it wisely on English beer instead of syphoning it off to some umpty group that worships a pedo and bombs the trains i madrid.

ummmmmm ……better still give those fuckers as much money as you can.

  366. mara says:

People if we look objetively…if we put ref s desicion on the side…
We had chances we didnt use, wich we should…and we got stupid goals. What was Modric doing alone? We are giving him a chance to shoot, and he score.
Why Hernandez didnt play instead of Welback. It was obvious after 45 min, it s not his day. If he decide to go, i will understand him…
It is us about to blame, we didnt use our chances. We could win tis match with one player out. And that is what hurts me. We are better team, but you have to score. We didn t play well in attack, in defence we were perfect before Nani went out.

  367. georgejoseph says:

KEANO is a total knob…..would not call him a legend full stop

  368. Ed says:

It’s not even Keane trying to look like he’s unbiased; he actively has an anti-United agenda. He is so bitter and twisted about his final days at United that he cannot contain his bile from pouring out. I have tried to remember the good times when he was running the midfield but the bitter fuck has ruined the memories with his constant spitting the dummy. He can fuck off.

The ref – I can’t say what I want as it is possibly illegal.

  369. Rd5454 says:

And the virus most lucky is iker injured fxxking lucky

  370. Neil says:

This one hurt more than any loss I can remember, including the CL Final losses. We were fucking cheated by a fourth rate referee who was probably bought off. Nothing anyone can say will convince me otherwise, because sheer incompetence wouldn’t produce a decision that bad.

This team was good enough to win the whole fucking thing and we’ll never get that chance because of some crooked dwarf who is bringing a suitcase full of cash back to Turkey after this game.

    FUCK

  371. georgejoseph says:

Still cant believe Rooney was dropped

  372. Ante Perkovic says:

So sad. So sad cause Rooney didnt was in starting line up. So sad for red card. But happy to see that we are strong but we cant play against 17 players. Nani should take some responsability for card but reff could let him with yellow.

  373. Fibes says:

Gutted, but every man in our side was counted. Really, really proud of every last one of them tonight, gave it their all and more.

Also, well played to Maureen and Ronnie, showed real (and unexpected) class tonight.

  374. Panderi says:

I rarely post over here, but I don’t know where else to vent my frustration, so fuck you referee and fuck you Ramos you fucking cunt. Those bastards were absolutely clueless out there before the sending off. Fergie got his tactics spot on again, and I’m fucking proud of everyone in a red shirt on the pitch. Let’s do the double and start by battering Rafa’s rent boys in the cup. We’ll be back in Europe next year, better, hungrier and on this evidence ready to knock out any cunt. Come on you reds!!

  375. Red4ever says:

Really really proud to be united supporter it brought tears to my eyes watching sir alex and ryan giggs urging the croud after the red card ,,,,all I want to say is im sure you all will agree with me is that

Will never die, will never die,
Will never die, will never die,
We’ll keep the red flag flying high,
‘Coz Man United will never die.

  376. UnitedFaithful says:

Can’t question the teams effort.Everyone played their hearts out.Every defeat will make us stronger.United flows through my veins. No amount of disappointment can take that away.

  377. Ed says:

Maureen made the Modric substitution at the right time. It worked. I think we would have seen it through but after the sending off we simply didn’t compose ourselves quickly enough.

  378. ezzerguru says:

What is Roy Keane on? Does he honestly believe that shit he just came out with. By his rationale then everytime a defender went up for a header and clashed heads with an opponent it’s a red card because he should have been aware there are other players on the pitch. And what was that irrelevant comment about Nani going down easy and not being the bravest. That’s not punditry that’s pub talk.

I’ve never felt the need to criticise Roy before even when he had that little spat with Alex over ‘perceived criticism from ex-players’ but sometimes I think Roy is just looking for a fight. His punditry is delivered with such aggression that you get a real sense of the negative vibe in the studio. Perhaps maybe like I’ve heard others in the game say, he’s still bitter.

PS. Thought we were absolutely brilliant until the sending off.

  379. UNITED4Life says:

This loss has nothing to do with the selection. I prefered to see Rooney in the starting 11 but the team was on top of madrid until the red card. The players gave their all. no complaint in terms of the performance. am proud of them.

  380. Lawman10 says:

A Turk married my daughter left her after he got his passport now this fucking ref!!
    Do I not like Turks.

  381. georgejoseph says:

I thought Giggs was outstanding pure class

  382. Dela says:

Christ….. Rooney starting wouldn’t have guaranteed any difference, but what it would have done is left Alonso with space that welbeck denied him until Nani was sent off and suddenly Madrid had the space all over. The selection worked right up until the red card.

  383. Joffrey Baratheon says:

Roy Keane is a truly pathetic human being, will he ever grow up? ITV should sack him because he’s picking up wages by ring a sel righteous bitter twat and not actually doing his job. He’s a humourless, nasty piece of work and he’s not welcome back to Old Trafford in any shape or form. United played absolutely brilliantly, couldn’t have asked more out of them. Welbeck and Giggs were fantastic, fair play to Welbeck he really showed up over these 2 legs and played his absolute heart out. A real sense of injustice tonight and I can’t fucking stand injustice!

  384. Fibes says:

    @Andromeda

Bang on. Circumstance conspired against us. We could do no more. For me Giggsy was the best player on that pitch for a country mile, ran for the 90 like a player half his age. Incredible.

  385. Goat Peticoat says:

    georgejoseph

piss off mate, Rooney is shit, he came on and miss placed passes left right and center. Easy tap ins d goals and assists against Norwich is one thing but against the likes of Barca and MAdrid he is a fucking fat chip shop wrapper english twat of a footballer with fuck all creativity or brains. We were running the show before the pig eating pedo worshiper cheated UEFA through another bum fest party to be had at our expense.
As for football you cant cunt.

  386. quhana says:

Great game, great effort, horrible result. I can’t remember the last time I saw United create this many chances and look so threatening. Welbeck and Nani were creating havoc with the back four as soon as we looked to counter! Giggsy had a great game and played with so much composure and elegance it was a joy to watch.

I can only hope this will spur the team to keep playing like this and secure the league way before the end of the season.

After some time to cool down I am actually ok with the red card on Nani. It is unfortunate but reckless and as a decision by itself its fine. What I’ve yet to come to terms with is how the ref can give a red card to Nani for the challenge while allowing Lopez to punch Vidic in the face without any consequences, or not awarding the penalty that Evra should have won against Ramos late in the game. The inconsistency is what hurts and infuriates me. Red card to Lopez and penalty for us and I can take Nani’s red card card, the ref just seemed to have different standards for the different teams throughout the game.

  387. Rd5454 says:

To lawman10 buy some DVD from 93 to 03 watch them all and say it again pls

  388. Nothing but RvP says:

Proud of the boys, end of. Did their job but referee undid everything

  389. Another Red says:

Since the subject was brought up, i too believe Chicho will leave us, but not immediately. But you can bet your arse, that the next time another team like Madrid aproaches Chicharito, he will listen. Today we left out a player who decided not to go to the Olimpics to represent his country (and his country won the gold btw) to play for Manchester. Only a pussy would pretend not to feel hurt, when you are your teams 2nd best scorer. I like Wellbeck, but him being picked ahead of Chicharito cannot be justified. In a game like this one, you play the forward who is scoring, period.

  390. UnitedFaithful says:

    And to the refereeing incident.

Just when I thought how much worse it could get than the first leg.Of the two this referee just takes the cake.Brilliant.

  391. WeAreUnited says:

    ROBBERY

I have nothing more to add, great effort from the team, every player did their job. from the goalie to the subs. The only disappointing player was RVP, and it’s amazing that I have to say that. Anyway, great team effort.

    ROBBERY.

    ROBBERY

    ROBBERY.

  392. OJM says:

I cannot describe how angry I am. If we had lost with all 11 men on the pitch (as we should have), then despite a loss being a bitter pill to swallow, I could have swallowed it. You know, if we were outclassed. But this result, I cannot swallow. The few minutes after Nani was sent off I knew we would lose. The confidence fell and the whole team was thrown into confusion by the decision. It’s a shame.

WE DID NOT LOSE THIS MATCH BECAUSE WE WERE THE WORST TEAM.

We may have had less possession in the game, but Madrid did nothing with their possession up until the red card. As soon as we went down to 10, they looked much more potent and I knew they would capitalise.

That said, I am still very proud of the boys. We put in a fantastic performance and were the best team until the red card.

Sign off from me … Roy Keane is a cunt and I never want to see him pundit on a United game again. Fuck you bitter Paddy cunt. Just because you fell out with Ferguson and you still see people like Scholes, Giggs and Ferdinand being part of something special while you wallow in your little hole of resentment and self-pity. Fuck off and die … you were once United legend. You’re a legend no more.

  393. Andromeda says:

    @Diego
alright mate, I am certainly not saying it was a straight red card.as you said Nani was not aware of the player coming from behind but the referee has perhaps seen the worst scene of the incident from his angle.we were the better team until this shit happened and within blinking everything became crazy.

  394. Denise Williams says:

Roy Keane has to be the vilest person this country has ever produced. He is a complete tosser. If he ever shows his face at Old Trafford again someone please smack him one. I really hate him. As for that useless cheating ref always did hate the turks scumbag slimeball.

  395. Red Devil Canuck says:

That red card was bullshit. I was worried about this referee before the game and I was very disappointed to be right.

  396. Jerooney says:

    Hi everyone,

Absolutely robbed tonight. Battered madrid with ten men and played some very nice football. Lost for words really…
At least we have a strong contender for the next CoM award.

  397. Diego says:

Team selection was spot on. Anyone who says differently is fucking retarded. We didn’t need a slow, sloppy Rooney in that team. Real had the ball but did fuck all with it. Had Welbeck perhaps scored from the great chance he got, or Vida’s header had gone in instead of hitting the post, the game would have been different. We would have progressed 100% if not for one turkish twat.

  398. Andromeda says:

    @Diego
alright mate, I am certainly not saying it was a straight red card.as you said Nani was not aware of the player coming from behind but the referee has perhaps seen the worst scene of the incident from his angle.we were the better team until this shit happened and within blinking everything became crazy.but I should agree with Costas we shouldn’t have sit back after the see card.I think bringing Kagawa or Anderso could have been a brilliant idea.just saying.

  399. UnitedFaithful says:

That being said wouldn’t surprise me to see Fergie getting fined for pointing towards the referee after the final whistle.

  400. eric1966cantona says:

Guys, lets not speak about ROY and and all the ABU’s. Well played lads and well played Alex for getting tactics and selection spot on. Footbal…BLOODY HELL.

Ohhh…fuck of ROY. final word on him.

  401. evisu says:

    http://www.abload.de/img/dsdsfsfdsfds5vk33.gif
Rio sums up the ref performance pretty much..

  402. Mahesh says:

The Welbeck-Chicha issue is becoming tiresome. Welbeck was not in the team for the strikers job – he was selected to do much more, things chicharito cannot…if it was a pure striker role, hernandez would get picked over Welbeck all the time…but the fact is that the role Welbeck is asked to play is one chicharito simply cannot play…

  403. WeAreUnited says:

    FOR THOSE

that say Nani don’t play well in big matches or don’t track back, I hope you shut up from now on, he had a dip in form and still has managed to be one of our best player in 3 concecutive matches!!! Doesn’t track back my ass.

ROBBERY. ROBBERY. ROBBERY. It’s Bayern Munich 2010 all over again.

    ROBBERY. ROBBERY

  404. onlydale says:

    Denise… Roy is Irish.

  405. WeAreUnited says:

    PS.

Welbeck from now on, I love you more and more and more. Danny Welbeck our Henry of the future. RVP didn’t deserve to be on for 90minutes, CHicharito should have come on in the game.

    ROBBERY

  406. matt says:

    @ Mara

Mate, your right about having chances but lets be honest, Diego Lopez had a fucken blinder in goal. What was Modric doing alone? Mate, he had time and space because we were down to 10 men and everyone had to cover more space and shift quickly. What did you expect the boys to do? They were being run ragged. Also, I don’t understand how you can claim Hernandez should of started. Welbeck played his role to a fucken T, he kept Alonso out of the game and had some good chances but like I said, Diego Lopez had a belter in goal (Though Lopez is a total cunt).

  407. UNITED4Life says:

I want any one but madrid to win it. they didn’t deserve to go through.

  408. Joffrey Baratheon says:

Hamman and Mcinally both agree (like any same person would) that the red was a joke, though Keane disagrees. I ha bad taste in my mouth already with the injustice of it but that cunt has pushed me to another level. I’d love nothing more than to smash that cunts face in.

  409. Hans says:

    United’s flag is deepest red,
It shrouded all our Munich dead,
Before their limbs grew stiff and cold,
    Their heart’s blood dyed it’s ev’ry fold.

    Then raise United’s banner high,
Beneath it’s shade we’ll live and die,
So keep the faith and never fear,
We’ll keep the Red Flag flying here.

We’ll never die, we’ll never die,
We’ll never die, we’ll never die,
We’ll keep the Red flag flying high,
‘Cos Man United will never die

  410. Costas says:

No need to get worked up over Roy Keane. Nothing we say will hurt him more than the poison he has in his veins does every single day. I feel sorry for him personally.

  411. samuel - united WE stand says:

Fucking ref has been paid, wouldn’t suprise me if he was behind a fix.. I couldn’t believe my eyes

  412. Dan-young says:

Positive things to take from the game anyone?

.. Mine is i now know 10 man united is far better then 12 man real madrid

Also both times ronaldo scored against us he immediately looked at saf. And he had tears in his eyes tonight. So we will win the ucl next season with him on the left (if we have no cuntish refs to ruin it)

Im also living in the hope that that cunt of a ref dies a painful suffering death. Yeh over the top but hes going to make me suffer for atleast a month.. Multiply that by the 650 million united fans thats 650 million months, so 54166666 years and 8 months he has to make upfor so i guess we can bargain with the cunt and have his life. Lets be honest he is clearly open to negotiating a price for himself

  413. Big Vex says:

    Roy Keane.. scum.

  414. Ed says:

If we were Chelsea, the ref would be forced to retire under threat of death.

  415. WeAreUnited says:

And you consider Keano a legend huhu, left like an asshole, and is bitter with SAF and United,

A legend my ass, Ronaldo is more of a legend than him,

I watched the game in my language, but If keano really said all that, well I never liked Roy KEane, a dirty player who breaks other players legs on purpose. Thank you for the memories, but that’s it.

I will be slated for this, but I don’t care. HE was Steven Gerrard 2 of being a dirty player. I hate dirty players, even those that wear the United shirt. We’re lucky that we havent’ any of them in our team.

  416. In David We Trust says:

WeAreUnited – united’s greatest chanceof winning the CL since 2008 destroyed by a ref wanting to make a name for himself, phelan is doing the conference, as fergie is pissed

  417. AntiScouser says:

Surreal match. The starting line-up was perfect, our back four and the entire midfield were absolutely immense. Giggs should be knighted, what else can I say, his input was immaculate. Welbeck should’ve put one away, but I wouldn’t complain.

Their GK had a night of his life, like Casillas in 2000 and 2003. That was the difference that swung if you ask me.

As for the card, it seemed harsh and I was livid when I saw it come out of the pocket, but maybe, just maybe Nani did go over the top. If so, that should be the end of him.

Great match, but a painful outcome. I really wanted us to win the CL again. I actually thought we had the capacity this year, but it was not to be. Another bruise, another bitter memory.

Still, I love this club. Hope we recover and clinch the double. Would serve those ABU cunts well.

  418. In David We Trust says:

I give nani a new contract not only off that decision, but give him a lift, as that can kill anyone’s career

  419. CR9 says:

Some people called me troll, etc in another post, but you fans need to face the truth, RM is better than United and it is not the first time United are eliminated by us. and of course the starting line up gave hopes as no rooney, meant only your one man show van persie showing up, and he is not troubling any team these days even in the english league. but wish you all the best in getting the english league trophy, unless united is morally torn apart from now on.
and like i also said earlier, it will be your old boy nailing you, and we are not seling him back

  420. Diego says:

So just to summarize the important decisions over the two legs:
    - Varane’s tackle on evra, who was trough on goal didn’t even warrant a free-kick
    - The referee didn’t allow us to take the corner in Madrid, even though there was still at least 4 seconds on the clock
    - Nani’s red tonight
    - No penalty for Evra when ramos clearly fouls him late on.

  421. WeAreUnited says:

    @InDavidWeTrust

EXACTLY MATE, exactly, btw Nani proved very good today right, what did you think, di he prove you wrong :) shame he felt in the trap of the REF

BTW before the game started, I said to my friends, that this turkish man has red vard and yellow cards all over him.

    Guess what happened?

  422. In David We Trust says:

I do agree with cundy, could the boss have done something, react to the red card and bring on players

  423. WeAreUnited says:

    In David We Trust says:

I give nani a new contract not only off that decision, but give him a lift, as that can kill anyone’s career

    I GOTCHA your answer!

  424. Marq says:

Yeah, no need to get worked up over Keane. He is trapped within his hatred for us that he needs to slag us off at every chance, such a sad life he has. Bad result, but thats life, now lets work on the double

  425. Costas says:

    @Diego

Ramos should have been sent off in the first leg too. Elbow across the back of Evans’ neck.

  426. redseven7 says:

another game we should have won but ‘others’ have decided differently….

11 v 11 real had no chance but the ref changed the game,i was watching a live stream of the game via aljezerra sports, richard keys mentioned in a recent game that this particular ref was officiating between portugal and spain, the Portuguese FA officially protested against him being the match official as he has ‘close’ ties with the spanish FA..not sure in what capacity but said on live tv by keysey so there must be something in it….

don’t have a problem with losing but we were robbed plain and simple….the boys were awesome tonight and for maureen to say the best team lost speaks volume’s…. This is going to taste horrible for quite some time….

  427. Diego says:

    CR9:
You were clueless today man. No imagination, no shots at goal, nothing. We were tactically raping you lot. And we certainly weren’t nailed by Ronaldo, who was quiet as fuck up until the red. We got fucked by the referee, big time.

  428. In David We Trust says:

CR9 – tell me what Madrid had done when it was 11 men, we were outplaying you, you had no answer to united bypassing you. And united would have won the game 2 0

  429. Sushi says:

Ramos it all comes down to that FILTHY FYCKING CHEATIN SERIAL CUNT FUCK HIM

  430. Dan-young says:

Antiscouser your kidding about the red card right. Stop being such a fucking roy keane!

  431. WeAreUnited says:

    @INDAVIDWETRUST

I think the team worked very very very well, I didn’t miss Rooney, unless if we had Rooney in the place of RVP who was disappointing, he has 1 goal in his last 8 and Rooney 5, so Rooney should have played instead of RVP, cause he’s on form and RVP not.

Anyway ROBBERY, to quote Ddider Drgoba, “it’s a effin disgrace*

  432. robbo2keano says:

I think the boss could of taken Giggs off once we were reduced to 10 men and bring on Valencia
either way this was robbery. feels like Porto, when scholesy had a goal wrongfully disallowed

  433. roboo7 says:

    @ marca
if you actually watched the game you would see why welbeck started over hernandez. Herandez plays off the last man welbeck works for the balk hes defending one minute then the next hes finding space and creating chances. Yeah his finishing isnt as good has peas agree with that.

  434. Sushi says:

And thsi is y Europe as a whole is a running joke no offence to you lot since ur not technically in the same basket as those serial cheating, lying, tax evading, lazy, sleazy cunts who are dragging the world economy down. (Excluding UK, Britian here)

  435. belfast red. says:

Gutted. Madrid were never in this game. We got the goal we needed. All we would off done was catch them on the counter. Until that Fucking travesty off a ref killed the game. Disgrace. Utter disgrace. Ill be going home to belfast proud to be a Red. Couldn’t fault 1 single player.

  436. bobbycharlie1968 says:

I could quite easily rant about the fucking shocking refereeing, but I thought other people might need a lift as much as I do.

I felt physically sick at the result, but tonight was another night where I felt so proud to be a red. To see Giggs tearing them apart on his 1000th game, to see Fergie geeing up the crowd, to see the rage and passion when Nani was sent off, not just from Fergie but from all our players, to see Mourinho acknowledge we were the better team, to see the sheer passion and determination of our players. I couldn’t be more proud of them. I am fucking gutted that we’re out because of a shocking decision. I hope that cunt referee doesn’t make it out of Manchester alive. But we’re still on course to win our trophy back from City, and it could be worse. We could be City, who are miles off the pace in the title race and were the worst English team ever (fact!) in the Champions League. We could be Chelsea, in the Europa League and with Rafa guiding us to a factual victory but an actual defeat, not to mention mediocrity and going from potential title challengers to Champions League places battle. We could be Arsenal, with a woeful squad with a handful of class players, all but out of the Champions League and most certainly not playing in it again next season. We could be fucking Liverpool, who haven’t had a night like this for years now, and are slipping down the slippery slope of mid table-ness, and who will not be a force in English football for probably another 20 years more (hopefully even more beyond that, dying before Liverpool win the league again would be fucking impressive and hilarious). It could be much worse fellow reds, at the end of the day we took Real fucking Madrid close to elimination. A dodgy decision settled it. They’re a class team but we were better on the night. So I think we can be proud, it still hurts and I’ll have to try and stop myself having any anti-Turkish sentiment tomorrow (I do love kebabs), but no other club in the world has the passion from the manager down to the players, and when you step back and look, the double wouldn’t be so bad would it?

    We’ll never die.

  437. UnitedFaithful says:

    @evisu

Rio’s sarcastical clap and fergie’s reaction said it all.

  438. Marq says:

    @CR9

Real the better team? Apparently, your own manager said something different.

  439. WeAreUnited says:

    @antiscouser QUOTE

“As for the card, it seemed harsh and I was livid when I saw it come out of the pocket, but maybe, just maybe Nani did go over the top. If so, that should be the end of him.”

are you serious? maybe he should have just let arbeloa take the ball and make himself a fool and then people say he has no effort?? the thing is it was a ROBBERY and with that display those thatbelieve in the MYTH of Nani being inconsistent or not tracking back, can shut up for now, GIVE the boy a new contratct!!!!

  440. Joffrey Baratheon says:

CR9 piss off you twat. You’ve got nothing to add to this blog. Where are you even from? You’re talking out of your arse and don’t offer such self pity drivel on here, piss off you silly cunt. Is this national cunt day? First the ref, then Keane and now CR9.

  441. In David We Trust says:

CR9 – your boy ramos should have been sent off in the first leg, for elbowing RVP. You are a text book troll, you were not better, united could have beaten your boys in the first leg 3 1, and oh yes united could have had a penalty. Enjoy your victory, united have had ref decisions, but if you think it was Madrid playing better, WOW you clearly are a bigger johny come lately than the council house, and chelski fans. Ronaldo was utter garbage today, could not run past players,he could not shoot

  442. AntiScouser says:

    @Dan-young

I said I wasn’t sure. It looked like his studs were on Arbeloa’s chest. Still harsh, though.

  443. Andromeda says:

Insomnia after such a terrible defeat, couldn’t imagine my eyes.this season we had the best chance to repeat the treble.unfortunate to end up like this.its as if you are stabbed from behind, can’t imagine how I feel right now.perhaps I need a course of antidepressant for the rest of the week.feel sorry for the lads, they played with all they have got, a horrendous night, truly horrendous.

  444. CR9 says:

Diego – agree the ref got it wrong but with your tactics of just sending long balls forward and blocking cr7 meant others were left a little more unmarked and your doom was waiting.

In David We Trust – “And united would have won the game 2 0″ , did not happen as your team failed to score even 1, Ramos scored the 1 for you this time, and was a defense error

am off to celebrate this well deserved win, but of course United will remain a big club in europe and hopefully next season you lot do better in the champions league.

  445. Hans says:

    @WeAreUnited

He is being very diplomatic!!!! Is he pitching for United job?

  446. WeAreUnited says:

    @bobbycharlie1968

GREAT, veru nice to read!!! let’s remember that, Manchester United never dies,

and even at 2-1 with one player off I though to myself, we can do it, we can do it, the “old” new Manchester United is back in business and now people will take us again seriously!

We are ManUtd and we’ll win when we want!!!!!!!!!!

  447. Dan-young says:

Sushi fuck off about ramos. It was the fucking ref. Your such an annoying little cunt. Notice how no one is agreeing with you!!!

  448. OJM says:

The only person I have heard agree with the red card is Roy Keane. Funny that … he’s a stupid, bitter cunt. Manchester United are Roy Keane’s iron lung. We are the thing that keeps him alive. The thing for which he is famous and the only reason people/the media are still interested in him. We are his life.

At the same time he resents the fact that we carried on without him and kept achieving. He hates the fact that we still have REAL legends at this club and have almost forgotten he exists. Fuck you Keane … never show your face at this club again.

PS. Nani has apparently said to the media that they have been told they are not allowed to say anything to the press about the game.

  449. slim says:

I got the tyler commentary and he was pretty shit all the way through too
I could tell how surprised he was we were on to of madrid.
Fuck. Realky gutted with the result and the ref. Not surprised by the work put in by the lads. They’re top pads. Fantastic to see.
Bit disappointed with RVP though, expected more. Before and during the game welbz got nothing but stick and all the while he was one of the best players on the pitch. Had his goal bound efforts blocked and the only one he should have put away was the chance from the free kick in the first half and even then it wouldnt have counted as he was offside (so was RVP)
Gutted. The dressing room must be heavily downcast. We’ll try again next year

  450. redseven7 says:

well said @bobbycharlie1968….we will have more nights like this…where those around us more than likely won’t…
    forever united

  451. Bugzy_red says:

So So proud to be a manchester united fan after that game. hard work, grit, determination, focus…couldnt have asked for more. it was a gameplan that was working a treat for fergie and had every confidence in us getting a second. down to 10 it was torture…and to top it off ronnie bagged the second.
the ref….SERIOUS LOOK IN THE MIRROR MATE. for de jong to not get sent off in world cup final 2010 for what can only be seen as GBH but nani to get a red…his eyes were on the ball…Yellow at most.

    On wards and upwards…
Keep premiership momentum going and lets get at chelsea on sunday.

  452. WeAreUnited says:

    @hans

haha we laughed with our friends that Mourinho asked SAF about his wages and is any place open in Manchester, it only shows that one of the best managers has the biggest respect towards us and is not an asshole with us.

It tells us that United is the peakpoint what you have to reach!

  453. medumtum says:

Amazing how far ahead we were. This team, and squad, have been consistently underestimated by the footballing world. Everyone thought we’d get crushed in Madrid and we went out and produced a performance that virtually emasculated them at the Bernebeu, and then at Old Trafford we absolutely dominated them until that red. It almost felt as if we were facing a mid table premier league side rather than the mighty Real Madrid. Our defending was desperate but it was a sign of the effort and Degea didn’t have a save to make. Ridiculous how despite the red card, despite the sheer injustice, our lads still kept attacking and creating. It was diego lopez who showed some character and credit to him. Ronnie too was still urging Madrid on, as we created chance after chance, unlike the rest of Madrids mercenaries. And what a sight to see Giggs still pushing till the end. That is the United DNA and that is the hunger that the class of 99 showed, the Fire that burned so fiercely in Keane, who no matter his words today, was a legend on the pitch. A credit to the manager and the club. We lost today but this team has learnt to hunger for the win and they’ll get their trophies. They will be stronger for it and we will come back to claim Europe. For now though the league has to be brought home. Proud of the lads.

  456. Scorp says:

I done with Keane. We stood by him through thick and thin and has become one bitter cunt.

If Nani ought to know that there are other players on the pitch, then why the hell was Lopez not sent off for punching Vidic ? That was as dangerous as any.

  457. Joffrey Baratheon says:

CR9, off to celebrate? Who you kidding? But you thought you’d stop by on ROM to sprout nonsense. Once again you’re a cunt. Now cunt off!

  458. slim says:

Fuck me. Did i just read a bobbycharlie ? Fancy that. Night hasnt been a total disaster then
Missed those rants man. Good stuff

  459. Sushi says:

No way you can blame Nani for any of this the boy was fantastic I hope he stays with Us. With 10 men we were still the better team. Kean is dead to me he can fuck off and work for ITV (Joke) and say watver he wants. All i know is all the true legends of United have been handed Ambassadorial roles or in some way still involved.

  460. Dela says:

    http://www.metatube.com/en/videos/174270/Arbeloa-clash-with-Evra-Manchester-United-vs-Real-Madrid/

How can THAT be a yellow card, and Nani’s be a red??? Only one of them is fucking intentional. What if he had done Evra’s knee in? Career over? Not dangerous enough? Jesus Christ.

  461. In David We Trust says:

CR9 – a well deserved win LOL, it was not a well deserved win, u were utter clueless, you took advantage of a situation where once it was 10 men, it changed the game. But united outplayed madrid, for that game, and even with 10 men, united could have scored 3 more times

  462. ahjs says:

Keane did a job for us. A very good professional and very good player. He doesn’t love us, or the club. He was a prick, but our prick, so we loved him. I think that’s over now. His on field achievements stand.

But he wasn’t being a pundit, just a contrary prick. It wasn’t a challenge. If there’s sendings off for overhead kicks and “challenges” like this every week, and we see lots of red cards throughout Europe, I might accept it. But there’s not. It’s like when Barca got a penalty against AC Milan last season because there was a foul at a corner. This happens during every game but Bareclona got the penalty when they needed it.

  463. WeAreUnited says:

@ medumtum SPOT ON MAN!!! SPOT ON!! CAPS LOCK cause I am on adrenaline.

Ryan Giggs isour next manager, and remember that I said it.!! Ryan Giggs is the DNA as you said it.

BTW give that boy Nani a contract, he has showed us that he is Manchester United blood, GIVE TEH BOY A CONTRCAT, he doesn’t track back my ass.

  468. WeAreUnited says:

IT*S A ROBBERY I SAY. Caps lock cause I am so angry

  469. georgejoseph says:

Fergie distraught and not available for comment

  470. Diego says:

Honestly, who is this fucking referee? SAF certainly doesn’t need any unnecessary stress at his age. Knowing that a fucking massive injustice has been done, but the fact that you can’t do anything about it is one of the worst feelings in the world. This cunt makes a horrendous call, and UEFA won’t probably even issue an apology. What the fuck went on in his primal brain? Why are all CL referees so incredibly fucking inept?

  471. Dela says:

@Sushi –> If Fergie came out in front of the the camera tonight they would have been pressuring him to say something bad about the ref which inevitably would have ended with him being fined and with a sideline ban.. even tho that won’t matter until the start of next season anyway, but still, he’s probably very very angry right now. He needs to cool off before he gives his reaction publicly.

  472. dasilvatwins says:

Roy keane is a bitter twat, he has bad blood between ferguson and he will never let it drop the shit that he got away with in his time. at one point he says you cant make a tackle anymore and there are too many soft foul, in another a foul like nanis is a red card so annoyed right now , let hope ROM can shed some light and cheer me up

  473. Sushi says:

The Spanish League much like Spain itself is a laughing joke. There is no “el classico” but and “El Shitio” a battle between 2 teams full of cheating cunts who dive, lie, cheat. They can keep their joke of a league and crash and burn soon enough once the bond Vigilantes start applying to screws to Spain like they did Greece and no amount of ECB intervention will save them then. Absolute joke

  474. Diego says:

    Dela:
WTF didn’t remember seeing that replay during the game… Makes the Nani red all the more baffling. Seriously need to have a lie down now…

  475. phildo79 says:

Fuck the ref and fuck roy keane. never a red in my, and other ex-footballers, opinion. ruined the game and maureen was right, the better team did lose. ok, they had most of the possession but it’s what you do with that possession that counts and they weren’t doing a great deal until the red card. fair play to them suppose for smelling blood and joing for the jugular but we’ll never know what would have panned out with 11 v 11. before the red we were never behind in the tie and had the better chances tonight.

i still think they would prob have nicked one back to set up a nervy finish (we never make it easy for ourselves). but we seemed to have the tie pretty much under control with two very hard working, professional performances. without the red we may have won, we may have lost by even more. it’s just so bloody infuriating because I think we could have given the CL a real good go this year.

  476. Sushi says:

@ Dela thts exactly y i wanted him to come out i dont give a shit I wanted him to tell the media specially to go fuck themselves.

  477. ak47 says:

  478. samuel - united WE stand says:

Bring what players? I don’t think people are fully aware of the threat real had on the counter, fergie was mindful of not being ripped apart on the break but also posing some form of threat going forward. Difficult to do, madrid have quality and they took advantage of the gaps.

As for hernandez being picked ahead of welbeck in a game which tests your strenghts technically, you have got to be fucking joking.

  479. Joffrey Baratheon says:

I’m not sure anything can make me or anyone on here feel better right now, apart from giving Roy Keane a good kicking. Even then I’d enjoy it while it lasted but would have only been left with a feeling of emptiness afterwards…I’ve watched plenty of them South Korean revenge flicks and they all paint a dark image….sigh…..a missed opportunity in Europe thanks to a bloody ref. United I love you. X

  480. Andromeda says:

Gutted, absolutely gutted.it was pathetic to see this magnificent football club, such class fans, such a class manager to be eliminated like this.but guys we are right now a wounded animal, bring it on Cunt Rafa!

  481. AntiScouser says:

What comment(s) did Roy Keane make?

  482. WeAreUnited says:

    @samuel

I think SAF made all the right decisions, and I think fro mnow on all the Nani bashers of not trackign back and the MYTH can shut up, and from now on I will als oshut up about Welbeck, even though eh didn’t score he played liek a man!!! hands down. I always knew he had it, and that’s why I wanted him to do better, and he’s doing.

The only one disappointing was RVP, I think he though he was with Arsenal or something liek that, in this game, CHicha should have come in for RVP or ROoney before that. RVP needed to be benched after 60minutes.

  483. Sushi says:

Ramos is the real culprit here that prick specializes in diving about and getting opposing players booked he did against RVP first game if you remember and he did gain today on Nani. Filthy fucks

  484. Joffrey Baratheon says:

Ak47, Uefa couldn’t care less. Them idiots don’t even know what day of the week it is and don’t even being to cover up their own corruption because they’re a bunch of incompetent fools. I mean if you’re going to be corrupt at least do like the Italians and be a bit more underhand and discreet about it.

  485. MIDDYRED says:

Hate to say this, but has anyone else noticed that we get decisions like this outside of the premiership where SAF s influence is not felt? Maybe he does run the premiership afterall…………..

  486. mansuy united says:

Sick to my stomach over this. Cakir, you are a disgrace.

  487. Ed says:

Final at Wembley. Barca likely to go out next game. Arrrrgh!!!

No feeling sorry for ourselves though. Lardarse Rafa will be desperate to knock us out and keep his bloated carcass at Chelsea. Now we must focus on going for the double. Punish the rest.

  488. kevin says:

If dangerous play doesn’t include intent – why didn’t their keeper get sent off for punching Vidic in the head?

Keane was an amazing player for us but he is dead to Utd fans as a person now.

  489. kanchelskis says:

    @Sushi

    It was Arbeloa

  490. Andromeda says:

Tomorrow won’t be able to go to my job.will be wearing black for the entire week.

  491. Joffrey Baratheon says:

    http://www.redcafe.net/13092911-post112.html

No bias against English teams eh. Platini and his retarded clan will surely be very pleased with the fact that no English teams are in the competition anymore. Knowing the pain that the Chelsea victory caused them last season almost makes it good that Chelsea won it.

  494. WeAreUnited says:

    @andromeda

you soemtiems have a capital A and sometiems the smaller one a. Which one you are mate? :D

well if your boss is a United supporter, maybe he will stop the business for one day:P

  495. denton davey says:

Overall, Rio/Vidic/TheLegend/DannyTheLad were excellent; LittleRedRafa di really well but lost CR7 on their second goal – although I think that Ronaldo might have been marginally off-sides.

My feeling after the match was even worse than a couple/three years ago when TheLads were jobbed @ OT against Bayern when Rafael got a second yellow for nothing but Ribery’s play-acting.

Even feel like you’ve been jobbed ?

  496. RedHarry4Life says:

I am sitting here still shocked can not believe that decesion.

Roy if that was a correct decesion for endangerinbg a players safety then why was Lopez still on the pitch after punching Vidic?. Why did Arbeola get a yellow for a more deliberate offense that was exactly the same as nani’s?

Yet another English team goes out to a shocking ref performance.

But as Paddy Crerand said after the match this is the night United have won the EPL. And I think the double. Fuel the rage, the sense of injustice into blowing away all the little other ABU *uckers in England.

Hopefully next season we will get a decesion like this in our favour and when all the media and ABU shits come on ranting and raving about how United always get the decesions sit back and just point at this and do not say anything else.

  497. NBI Red Onion says:

no way are we renewing turkish airlines sponsorship

  498. WeAreUnited says:

And you consider Keano a legend, left like an asshole, and is bitter with SAF and United, keeps trachtalking all the tim.

A legend my ass, Ronaldo is more of a legend than him!!! YES I SAID IT. YES I SAID IT

I never NEVER liked Roy KEane, a dirty player who breaks other players legs on purpose. Thank you for the memories, but that’s it.

I will be slated for this, but I don’t care. HE was Steven Gerrard 2 of being a dirty player. I hate dirty players, even those that wear the United shirt. We’re lucky that we havent’ any of them in our team.

  499. Ed says:

Bitter Roy is the only person in the game saying it was a red. Moyes wasn’t convinced it was even a yellow. Pros tweeting – even Barton – that it was a joke.

    Keane has disgraced himself.

  500. Corea says:

    great great game from us.
unfortunately 4 years of poor football with FergieTheMaster building that WONDERFUL team of players ruined by poor poor decision from the PlatiniRef.
Well done lads, thanks for the memories.

  501. WeAreUnited says:

SO ANGRY with Keane and the referee that I am doubleposting my comments

    ROBBERYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

    robberyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  502. RedHarry4Life says:

his from redcafe and other this ref has sent off Nani, Terry, Gerrard, Cahill and Balotelli all playing for rnglish clubs in europe.

This seems very suspect. makes you wonder about his Bias?

  503. Phil Jones' Birdshit Streaks says:

FUCK YOU ROY KEANE. FUCK YOU SHIT CUNT REFEREE. So fucking gutted after that.

  504. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

Once again I am very very proud of the boys and the way they played. It is difficult to move on but we really have no choice. We have another huge game Sunday against the rentboys. They are reeling at the moment and we have to do those fuckers in. COME ON BOYS!!! Move on from this and let’s get ready for Sunday.

  505. WeAreUnited says:

    This all being said,

GREATGREAT effort from the team, amazing. SAF this is why you are the best. Welbeck and Nani, yes you two, great job, Carrick you beauty and CLevs was the man. back four amazing job, I noticed that Ronaldo and Özil was playing after the sending off and when Özil was substituted. I didn’t even notice Madrid in the game.

I LOVE THIS TEAM. now let’s kick chelskis ass and bring that Fa-cup back home!

  506. WeAreUnited says:

A SPECIAL mention to Ryan “mr. 1000″ Giggs. best player on the pitch fro mthe fist minute.

he was down at the beginning of the season but even at the age of 39 he fought back into the starting line-up against Madrid and was the best player of the game. AMAZING!

  507. kanchelskis says:

For one of our best performances in the last three years to be undone by such despicable officiating is truly stomach-turning. The confidence we could’ve had in Europe if we’d got through would’ve put us in such good stead.

We must hope that the players take from this the positives of the performance, and not the way things panned out.

Playing every game at even two thirds of that level for the rest of the season will see us wrap up the double in style.

  508. Arthur "Two Sheds" Jackson says:

I agree with We Are United. Chico should’ve come on eventually. Fine, it’s been established that SAF doesn’t trust him for big games. His role is now that of super-sub. He comes on when we need a goal–or more, obviously.

So what happens today? We needed goals, but who comes in? Not our super-sub whose role is to get us those last-gasp goals, the lad who’s proven time and again that he can save our arses when we need him to. No. Apparently, the team needed two horribly out of form wingers instead.

If he is leaving to elsewhere, I hardly blame the Mexican. He missed his chance at an Olympic goal medal because SAF wanted to rest him … so he can rest on our bench some more, it seems.

  509. Gaffer says:

as it should come as no suprise, check out who ref @RefereeCuney follows on Twitter outside Turkey – its only Real M of course

  510. MIDDYRED says:

Thought we played excellent tonight, even though we actually played better at their place! Can see us meeting the bitters in the fa cup semis and getting beat again though, they will be up for it more than us i think. cos thats all they have left. At least we will have the league.

  511. wayne says:

Just got back from the pub, this is what’s wrong with the ref system,it’s fucking bent with no repercussions, some two bit bent cunt from a second rate league can ruin a fucking game and a team chances of winning the Cl.Real Madrid are fuck all and Utd was in full control.
Honestly though what’s the fucking odds in a pub downtown Calgary some Spanish cunt trying to rub it in,i’m a old cunt now but when it comes to Utd it’s like i’m 20 and all my basic animal instincts just fucking kick in.This shit just makes me ill and cunts like him shouldn’t be reffing any fucking thing,he was completely out of his fucking depth and lost the plot

  512. WeAreUnited says:

    @arthur exactly mate,

First, I thought RVP was awful, it’s hard to say this, but he was. Chicharito should have come atleast for the last 20 minutes, and Rooney instead of YOung. The only correct decision was Valencia coming on.

Our wingers have been off form, if we don’t count Nani’s comeback to form in his last 3 games, he has conrtibuted the most from wingers. That being said, Chicha should have had a sniff in the game and RVP substituted.

Can’t do anything anymore, so that’s it. the robbery from the ref changed this game.

  513. Joffrey Baratheon says:

Ironic how the refs name is so close to being cunt. Did anyone else see Ronaldo a couple of minutes after he scored? He looked to me like he was genuinely holding back tears. That really hurt me to see him score that goal. He is after all a professional who plays for Real Madrid but man it hurt. Sometimes I really hate this game.

  514. WeAreUnited says:

    @wayne

amazing that is, did you answer back or let them be :D how can anyone rub it when they clerly won by the decision of the referee? my 3 friends of 4 were for Madrid, but they admitted that we got robbed,

    can’t believe peopel these days

  515. NBI Red Onion says:

@ wayne – the ref wanted to be the star – look at his expressions and the way he talked to players he was loving it – and as you say – what r his repucussions – you have to be dead cert its not an accident to give a red – no way was he dead cert – cunt. SAF not getting younger, he played a blinder and the shit nothing screwed him to be the big man

  516. NBI Red Onion says:

Well Madrid bought their Turkish Delight with them – Maureen, as Graham Poll says, is a big one for smoozing with refs, wouldn’t be surprised if Cunt is god fathers to his kids.

  517. wayne says:

You know what though Maureen was all class today i know a lot of Reds hate him but he did the right thing, not many managers would admit the best team lost and walk off before the final whistle embarrassed, how fucking bad does he want the Utd job

  518. Craig says:

    @denton davey

I see your still using those fucking stupid nicknames…

  519. TraffordLord says:

I deliberately waited to post this. I needed some time to collect myself…the center official does not deserve any comment from me. He is obviously a biased fool with a UEFA badge.

In the cold hard light of this, I agree with Mourinho’s assessment we were the better team. However, I really believe this tie was ultimately settled by these two factors.

    1. Christiano Ronaldo found his feet (or head) when it mattered most
    2. Robin Van Persie could not find his feet over the two legs, despite Fergie’s clear preference for him over Rooney.

    GAME OVER…we move on.

  520. WeAreUnited says:

haha Like I said earlier, after the red card when Maureen talked to SAF, me and my friends were laughint about it. we said that Maureen asked SAF about open jobs at United and how much is SAF’s salary :D

  521. Sushi says:

ref was biased completely obvious that Abreloa fuck lunged into Evra studs high and caught him in the thight/hip area gets off with a yellow, That twat Ramos kicked evra down in the penalty box nothing given. Countless thrown in fuck ups, list goes on.

  522. WeAreUnited says:

    @TraffordLord

SPOT ON, if and only IF RVP would have been the same RVP that we expected to be in these two legs, we could have won it already at Madrid and then at OT.

he did disappoint us in these two legs of CL, unfortunately. Now he has more time to win the golden boot and help uswin the PL.

RVP can you come back to from. please?

  523. motgp says:

Disappointed with the two quick goals. Even though you’ve got a red card you can’t give Modric a big square of space to use when he gets the ball at his feet in front of the box. I don’t normally like to critisize defensive errors but the space Modric has got himself in when getting the ball is worth mentioning.

Their second goal was really awesome football. And they had wicked pressure on us. It’s hard to play smoothly with the psychological effect of having 10 men though.

But I still think Man Utd has the best team to create immense pressure and lots of good chances as we could see at the end. I believe we could have got something out of the game even at 1-2 with a bit of more typical clinical finishing. 2-2 at 82 minutes with the great chance (Carrick header) -> panic station for Madrid and our players would have been so spurred on by the fans and their own belief. It would have been a mental ending. Even without the goal from Carrick’s chance we still created 3 great goal scoring opportunities (without the potential determination of being in 2-2) with Van Persie trying to chip Lopez, Rooney volley and Vidic header from corner at the end.

Bit disappointing we never saw our attack reach their full potential against Madrid over the two legs.

  524. samuel - united WE stand says:

Wayne – to be fair though, what benefit do united get off mourinho rare showing of supposed class? He’s always got a hidden agenda and he knew what he was doing, either way united don’t gain anything.

  525. bugzy_red says:

    http://www.totalbarca.com/2012/news/cakir-controversially-refereeing-spain-v-portugal/

That CUNT of a ref apparently knows people on high places. Alleged connections to Spanish president of the UEFA Referee Committee. Those dogs at uefa. Why select him for a match involving a spanish team if there has previously been doubt casted over his selection.

  526. James7t7 says:

Another European season ends in disaster and yet another opportunity rued. Totally agree with Trafford Lords comments. We also need to look at our performance, our tactics and our team selection.

Very dissapointed and a definate season dampener.

  527. wayne says:

The cunt just get clapping and cheering so i turned around and said enough already the fucking ref handed you the game,it was a afternoon out me and a mate and a couple of women. He just kept going on so i went to the table and just told him you need to shut the fuck up drink your beer and fuck off, there
was 4 of them.Listen not proud of the way Utd have this effect over me it’s just inbred, went back everyone is telling me to be the bigger man.Anyway the game ended they’d already fucked off

  528. Sushi says:

If this wasnt the classic example of a fuckin fix I dont know what else is……these Fifa twats are a real dozy bunch of cunts aren’t they

  529. Art says:

I don’t understand how Giggs is a legend and Keano not. Giggs shagged his brothers wife repeatedly, his BROTHER’S WIFE, and not even because he loved her just because he could and screwed up their lives, whereas Keano is guilty of speaking his mind. Did Keano also shag his brother’s wife, someone explain this to me?

  530. samuel - united WE stand says:

Motgp – what are you talking about? Modric would never have got that space with 11men, pure logic of football. Modric is a rat looking little cunt but he’s got technical qualities and can drift past players, he has a good shot on him.

  531. In David We Trust says:

wayne – it does not help my case, when I have 2 women who support spurs and real madrid rubbing it in, thanks to this ref, so pissed off

  532. Toms says:

You know it is bad when MARCA comes out on our side.

    http://www.marca.com/2013/03/05/en/football/real_madrid/1362522569.html

  533. NotARedCard says:

No need to slag off Keane…he is just being honest. I remember there was an article here last November saying: “Torres Should Have Been Sent Off” after the Chelsea game. If you compare Torres’ high foot challenge on Clev with Nani’s — there isn’t much difference!

  534. WeAreUnited says:

@wayne, yeah, I understand if they won comfortably without decisions and rub it, but with that kind of decision, only cowards can rub it.

  535. Sushi says:

my last word on this I hope Milan do Barca proper and someone does in Madrid in the next round.

  536. wayne says:

samuel i know what you’re saying mate i still think it’s pretty fucking cool although he’s their manager he’s jamming the knife in Madrid’s ribs.Name me one other manager in the world that would’ve done that,he might have an agenda but it appears to be pro Utd so i’ve no issues

  537. ronnie says:

does that irish cunt think verane should have been sent off in the first leg? probably not.hes a fucking wanker.just go and fuck yorself roy youve no respect from any united fan youre just a bitter bitter prick.respect to mourinho at least he showed a modicum of respect

  538. TraffordLord says:

Nani showed Fergie was right to put him in the starting lineup. He ran at Aerobla all day beat him with ease. Small wonder the defender wanted him booked.

After contact Nani should have stood up and wagged his finger to denote that the contact was unintentional…I can imagine Giggs doing something similar. But rolling on the floor like he had been shot didn’t help matters. To be certain, it wasn’t a red…never a red.

The result? Now there is no way in HELL that Nani’s agent will have the balls to walk into Fergie’s office and ask for an improved wages for Nani. Fergie might do a Tony Pulis naked headbutt if that happens.

  539. samuel - united WE stand says:

There was nothing wrong with tactics or selection, fergie got it spot on and united suffocated madrid. Alonso could barely string two passes, ronaldo and ozil looked slightly clueless, di maria pulled a hamstring. Madrid huffed and fucking puffed and with united a goal up, madrid were susceptible to a counter attack, we had them exactly where they should be until that cheating fixing cunt pulled out a red for a challenge that i would argue wasn’t a yellow, even with ten men, united still battered the virus cunt….

  540. WeAreUnited says:

We didn’t get our tactics wrong, hell not, maybe in Madrid only in the first half

but @traffordlord had two good points about the things that made this difference and I will ad one more by myself

    1. Christiano Ronaldo found his feet (or head) when it mattered most
    2. Robin Van Persie could not find his feet over the two legs, despite Fergie’s clear preference for him over Rooney.
    3. turkish referee wanting the headlines

  541. WeAreUnited says:

    @wayne

when it comes to United, I like how Maureen behaves towards us, RESPECT. same applies with Ronaldo, hands down he’s showing the moves of a legend. Loves this club, unlike that Roy dirty player keane.

This being said, I see Solskjear and Giggsy as our future managers

  542. Hans says:

    https://twitter.com/RefereeCuneyt/following

the above clearly shows why he could not wait to send Nani off! UEFA must have known this. They are a disgrace as well!!!!

  543. WeAreUnited says:

    @TraffordLord

In this I disagree with you “The result? Now there is no way in HELL that Nani’s agent will have the balls to walk into Fergie’s office and ask for an improved wages for Nani. Fergie might do a Tony Pulis naked headbutt if that happens.”

I think Nani showed that he is worth the contract. THINk it this way, if nani wouldn’t have gone into that ball, all our supporters would have bashed Nani for not trying, now he went for the ball, and got a red, is it Nani’s fault? Tell me and be sincere?

HELL NO. GIVE THAT BOY A NEW CONTRACT!

  544. In David We Trust says:

WeAreUnited -ronaldo never did find his feet, as he was useless with 11 men, we had him in our pocket

  545. wayne says:

Exactly mate the cunt was showing no class and was doing a obvious wind up,if i’d been with a bunch of lads instead of a couple of women it’d probably kicked off and imo he deserved to get his head kicked in.That’s why most people don’t get why things kick off, don’t have the passion not defending it just part of being a fan.

  546. motgp says:

    samuel – united WE stand:

If you pause at the time Modric receives the ball we clearly have an overpopulated box (7 players in the box, only one in front of the box trying to press and Robin up front) – only Cleverley seems to be interested to press. Somebody should have been supporting Cleverley in my opinion. Then Carrick reacts but it’s a bit too late when you’re facing an exceptionally gifted rat, as you pointed out.

  547. WeAreUnited says:

    @InDAVIDWETRUST

mate, he was in Jones and Giggsy’s pocket and still score 2, so he was the better one, RVP was in the pocket of the Madrid defenders, and didn’t score any-. I am not trying to be biased. If RVP would have converted those chances, of course RVP would have been the main man, But he got 0 goals. and Ronaldo unfortunately 2.

It’s a sad fact my friend.

  548. Joffrey Baratheon says:

How can anyone on here question out tactics on the night? It was a bold selection be Sir Alex but it payed off. We let them come onto us rather than playing into their hands and hit them in the counter at every opportunity while completely nullifying their attacks. We deservedly took the lead and I was 100% confident we’d qualify then until that cunt of a ref decided it was his show. He then denied us a clear penalty in stoppage time as well, but we couldn’t have expected him to give us anything on the night. That cunt face Keane probably agreed with that decision as well. Seriously I will boo than man on his next return to Old Trafford. A truly vile person.

  549. NBI Red Onion says:

    @ gexmex and Mexican Red

Guys I know you are Mexican (I believe) and love Chica but you need to get a grip. This is a squad game and Pea was not the best person to play. Would you have played him ahead of RVP and Welbeck and Rooney if he was not Mexican.

Chica is a great talent, but his all round game is well below the level of other strikers, when we need more rounded tactical players like today, he was never going to play ahead of the others, when we need a guy in the box to nick us a goal and lead the line, he plays. He has a career at United, but no top team will play him more than United does, not Barca, not RM, not Bayern, no one. So this is the best place for him if he wants to play top level, else he can drop down a level and play regularly. Or stay here and try to get better in his overall play.

  550. kanchelskis says:

Final thought, before I got to bed and TRY and get some sleep.

If non-United fans have any doubt how poor the ref’s decision was, point out the them that it was NANI of all people who got sent off… and he’s quite getting even an ounce of shit off the fans.

That’s when you KNOW something out of the ordinary has happened.

    Goodnight reds.

  551. belfast red. says:

Maureen always walks off like that before the final whistle. Well ive seen him doing w that before. Its like his new thing. Hes a smug cunt! Wouldn’t want him near O.T. and i would bet he wouldn’t of been so complimentary if we had of went through..

  552. WeAreUnited says:

    @InDAVIDWETRUST

Ronaldo was in no mans-land and still scored 2, he didn’t play good, he was one of the worst players, but because he’s the second or the best in the world, he scored 2 goals.

He found his feet by scoring :=) unfortunately RVP has been liek this in his las t8 games with 1 goals and 2 assists :( I hope he finds his goalscoring touch.

As you can see stats do matter, that’s why strikers are appreciated. Anyway, I believe and trust that he will find himself again.

  553. wayne says:

WeAreUnited i don’t have any issues with Maureen i actually like him and he’s one of the few managers who have the ego and balls to take over Utd without missing a beat.Lot of Reds think’s he has no chance i think he’s one of the few that has every chance

  554. NBI Red Onion says:

I just noticed Scott spelled Madrid wrong in the thread header – that can now be amended to Real Turkish Delight.

  555. TraffordLord says:

    @WeAreUnited

I know Nani deserves improved wages, you know he does, and Fergie quietly knows this as well. However, he will use this to try to pull Nani’s people down a peg or two…its management.

Nani is our best winger no doubt about that.

  556. WeAreUnited says:

    @NBI Red Onion

I think CHicha shouldn’t have started, but he should have had his chance to score and win the game, what more could have we lost if he’d played and maybe, just maybe scored? we had nothing to lose.

But to start the game? no. as a supersub? YES:

  557. NBI Red Onion says:

@ middyred – you are cunt.

  558. WeAreUnited says:

    @Trafford

never thought of that, but I doubt it, I doubt that SAF would use this, if he would have wanted to get rid of Nani, well I doubt Nani would have played against Madrid in our most important game of the season for the moment.

This game showed that SAF has gaiend the trust on Nani! And let’s hope he gets that contrcact, but maybe it’s liek you said it, but it’s too cheap that way. You never know.

  559. red joey says:

robbed. proud of the lads that was immense. giggs n welbeck phenomenal!! so proud i dont care. fuck em!! we know whos the best and biggest club in the world anyway!!

  560. WeAreUnited says:

    @wayne

at one moment, I thought he would be perfect, but his attitude is not United-bound, like Bobby CHarlton said. But the way he sucks our ass and talks only good about us, he can improve his status and maybe change his attitude to become our manager.

Maybe for a 3-4year project and after thatm babyface or Giggsy to grab the managers spot? could it be?

  561. lawman10 says:

Off to get some sleep now if I can
One thought roy keane has disrespected Fergie & United the man is a 1st class cunt
Shame on you keane, hope we never hear his name sang again
What a let down you are.

  562. WeAreUnited says:

‘I said before I was disappointed the way I was treated at the end, nobody will change that. But that doesn’t mean to say I’m bitter and twisted towards Man United. Far from it.

‘I can go back there, I just wouldn’t be comfortable so that’s my choice.’

Keane also told the Sunday Times: ‘People say Ferguson always does what is right for Man United. I don’t think he does. I think he does what is right for him.

ROY KEANE comments, a legend? far from it.

It was a perfect plan until the the red. Another 15 minutes and I think we could have seen what SAF really had in mind to finish the game. I think a shuffle up front was coming up as well as the wings to put those fuckers to bed. What a shame. I really hope the boys don’t get too downheared for Chelsea on the weekend but are fired up to destroy anyone in their way for a double.

  564. denton davey says:

NBI Red Onion @ 00:57: “Chica is a great talent, but his all round game is well below the level of other strikers, when we need more rounded tactical players like today, he was never going to play ahead of the others, when we need a guy in the box to nick us a goal and lead the line, he plays.”

While I’d dispute the first part of this sentence, the second part is obviously completely contradictory. In the circumstance of the last thirty minutes, who else but Chicharito would you want to be the “guy in the box to nick us a goal and lead the line” ? Ashley Young ????????????? Gimme strength !

  565. WeAreUnited says:

“People say Ferguson always does what is right for Man United. I don’t think he does. I think he does what is right for him.”

Well Roy, what is right for SAF is right for United, because United is SAF

  566. NBI Red Onion says:

@ weareunited – yeah possibly as a supersub – but I think SAF was also thinking about not conceeding more and getting balls in the box for the strikers and Rooney for me is a better striker in the box than Pea. Would Pea have scored, maybe, but the subs did create chances and avoid conceding more, we did have the better chances this game, we just did not finish them off, Pea may have been able to but I think people are clutching at straws here, both RVP and Rooney are very good in the box and we needed crosses into them and to avoid conceding while we chased the match.

  567. WeAreUnited says:

THIS IS HOW LEGENDS SPEAK about their former club.

I did my job – helping Real Madrid to win – and I’m very happy, but it’s a strange feeling. It was the sensation of wanting to do something but not being able to,” Ronaldo told TVE.

“I played at Manchester United for many years, and if someday I face Real Madrid it will be the same. To be received well is special for me, coming home, seeing friends. Inside I’m happy but also sad for Man Utd.

Like after his goal in the first leg of the tie, Ronaldo did not celebrate his goal out of respect for his former club, despite the massive importance of the tally.

“I didn’t celebrate out of respect to those who treated me well here, but what I wanted the most was winning and keeping Real Madrid on course for La Decima,” Ronaldo said.

  568. NBI Red Onion says:

@ Denton – Ashley was there to cover the LW, put crosses in and he can shoot from distance, we already had 2 top strikers in Rooney and RVP in the box, you have to bet on them to do the job.

  569. WeAreUnited says:

@NBI yeah it’s a little bit of clutching at straws, but Chicha is the man to score and RVP was disappointing when it mattered, at scoring .

My opinion is that RVP should have been subbed at the 60minutes or before and put Rooney on, and if the game would have been 2-1, well bring Chicha and Valencia on to bring more firepower and move Rooney to the left or right.

    Anyway, ifs and buts :)

  570. mara says:

    @ matt
One thing…we could stop modric. They didnt attack us with 10 players. Welback was good, but not for scoreing goal, so why Hernandez couldnt do the same (defend) and score? We coild win this even with 10 players. MO also said that better team lost…

  571. motgp says:

    Joffrey Baratheon:

Roy Keane really destroyed your evening with those comments, and his Irish accent on top of that, “red caaad”. And with Ronaldo not celebrating – it was nice if he meant it but I doubt it since he’s not here and Madrid was his dream and all that. For me he could’ve just taken all the joy out of that goal instead of trying to look like he cares more about this club than Madrid. Ronaldo scoring 1-2 with us having 10 men and not celebrating was probably the worst case scenario for me.

  572. NBI Red Onion says:

Sometimes I think Joey Barton is Roy Keane’s love child.

  573. samuel - united WE stand says:

Wayne – he probably has some respect for fergie but i never fully believe what mourinho has to say, he walked off befote the game finished, strutting off arrogantly and having all the spotlight for him. I understand you regard mourinho in great esteem but i would rather a duck quacking up and down the managerial touchline when fergie retires than the portuguese, he suits all the clubs he managed. Porto cheated their way to thr title, madrid have done exactly the same.

  574. Ed says:

That fucking balding bastard in their goal ended up being their best player over both legs. His save from RVP in the last minute at the Bernabeu was critical.

I gotta go to bed. I feel more angry and upset than the CL defeats..

  575. NBI Red Onion says:

    @ motgp – muppet.

  576. NBI Red Onion says:

I agree RVP has been a bit off form scoring wise, but their goalie was also good.

I would not have minded seeing Rooney instead of RVP if he could keep the discipline and lead the line as when he starts scoring like at against Norwich you fancy him to keep on. RVP also helped out a lot defensively cutting of corners. But on recent goal form, very recent, I would have just edged it to Rooney instead of RVP if he kept discipline.

  577. NBI Red Onion says:

Basically, had we had 11 men, we would have won.

  578. WeAreUnited says:

    @nbi

exaclty, and to be honest, even know when I think after knowing the score, I doubt myself about putting RVP to the bench and I know we lost. that’s how good he is, but his recent form hasn’t een that good and roone yhas scored more than him recently.

usually Rooney is the bets leadign the line, but RVP on the bench even after knowing the score and knowing that he will not score is a hard one

ifs and buts, RVP vs Ronaldo was the key, 2 best players of this season of both teams 0-2 for ROnaldo. that’s all folks. unfortunately.

  579. samuel - united WE stand says:

Motgp – easier said than done, close quality players down when you have attackers making dangerous movement across the forward line. Of course you want to press and close gaps but modric takes joy off tiny space and he did what he’s good at, with 11men, he would never have found space let alone the time to shoot, anyone that denies the impact of that red is clutching at straws.

  580. WeAreUnited says:

+ the decision of the referee hahahah

  581. NBI Red Onion says:

@ wayne – if you met Maureen in a pub you would hit him.

  582. mara says:

    @ Marq 22:54
Completly agree…we need to buy big in the middle…but it is shame that we didnt score, we had chances. Welback didn t have day for scoreing, rest was good. So that is why i would change him for Hernandez

  583. WeAreUnited says:

    IFS and BUTS part.34

when Modric shot, why ou why Evra didn’t head that ball out?

  584. Sushi says:

All in all I was supremely satisfied with Welbeck they didn’t have a plan for him even in this 2nd leg. I am happy with his contribution and think he deserves to stay plus he loves united. Nani I believe should get a contract that bumps up his base salary but to get him to where he wants there should be some performance measures put in. Evra and our whole defense worked really hard its a shame rafael didn’t spot Ronaldo but to be fair not many would have caught that sudden burst he did.

  585. dave says:

fucking outrageous decisions from the ref

  586. zeroctrl says:

I think Chicha was saved to be put on last few minutes if the circumstances were for them to chase the game and commit themselves. He’s ideal for those circumstances as he can punish you like no other. Unfortunately, we never got there because of that thoughtless douchebag.

  587. NBI Red Onion says:

@ WeAreUnited – no matter mate, point is with 11 we were odds on to win and in style, then no one would be discussing who should have played. SAF got it right, he was brilliant, he played a blinder and that bastard RM fan of a ref screwed us. What could he do about that, nothing.

  588. Toms says:

I can’t believe people are talking about switching Rooney for Rvp. RVP adds so much to the game and does so much even when he’s not scoring.

    Silly.

  589. wayne says:

samuel we’ve been coming on here many years and very rarely agree which is ironic because we both love Utd. I’m convinced if Maureen got the Utd job in his mind would be his biggest achievement in his career and the only way to prove to everyone he’s the best ever is to out do Sir Alex. His legacy is what he lives for and all he can do to prove he’s better is to take over from the best.If he got the Utd there’s nowhere else to go,Utd is Maureen’s holy grail and for one i’d welcome him with open arms because i rate the fucker

  590. NBI Red Onion says:

@ Toms – so does Rooney.

  591. In David We Trust says:

mara – our midfield was fantastic today, what can u do when your up against 10 men for that amount of time, its hard

  592. NBI Red Onion says:

By wayne – the point is that fans want a manager who loves the Club and is not only in love with himself. United first.

  593. zeroctrl says:

Bayern vs United final is where it was headed before that fucker spoiled it.
Fuck, I feel so bad for SAF…he knew we could do this, looking after the league fielding strong personnel, he knew on this big night we would show up and do what we do.

Even fucking Murinio came right up to SAF after the card and whispered to him that it wasn’t a red card!

post match comments ” every one in the dressing room is distraught” ..
I hope we can collect from this and push on for a double.

  594. WeAreUnited says:

    @nbi

exaclty, without that robbery from the ref, we wouldn’t be here talking about this. a shame really.

    @toms

it’s not up to switch rvp for rooney though rooney is our talisman, but watching their current goalscoring form, rvp has been below par and we lost by goals. but that being said and if you read my comment more precicely and with precicion, you will notice that i said, it’s hard even after knowing that we lost and rvp didn’t score, to keep him out .

    peace.

  595. In David We Trust says:

wayne – I do not know if you agree, but I think mourinho is the only person that can take over from fergie, some do not understand the size of the task taking over from fergie, I have said this, mourinho is the bridge gap for a next manager, he is the transitional manager, so when the next manager takes over, there is not that huge pressure to be the next manager after fergie, even though I feel he could be a long term success as he has never had a club that is stable from top to bottom, its always been chaos where ever he has to manage, man utd is perhaps the tonic he needs to settle him down, as chelsea, inter, madrid is always chaos, what you think?

  596. wayne says:

NBI mate i already think Maureen loves everything about Utd,that’s were i think most Reds miss the point, every other club has been a stepping stone to his ultimate goal.i also don’t buy into the fact he needs money to succeed and leaves teams worse than when he showed up.Not one team Maureen has been to has been worse off because he showed up ,just the managers who followed weren’t as good.Maureen has made every team better and quite frankly left a team of winners.FFS he won the CL with Porto name me the last Portuguese team to win the CL.Does anyone even have a clue how immense this achievement was.Look anyone can slag Maureen for whatever but this fucker is a great manager

  597. StatesideAussie says:

My feeling is that Rooney was benched because in SAF’s game-plan, the key to success was absolute discipline in marking and positional play. It’s not that I see Rooney as “undisciplined”, but that his game very much revolves around him being “here, there and everywhere”. He’s a loose cannon (in the good sense of the word), and what SAF set out to do required something different to that. But once Nani was sent off by that idiot ref and The Virus equalised, I felt we should have brought Rooney right away, and Kagawa. At that point, we had nothing left to lose.

  598. NBI Red Onion says:

United Managers put Club first, they are not talented 2 season wonder whores like Maureen who should have lost today. No way will he ever be liked as a United manager after his history. City is where he belongs.

Many great managers out there who would love and do well at United, I would prefer a British manager or former United player, Moyes, Giggs, Solskar, in time, never Maureen.

  599. wayne says:

David mate all the negatives about Maureen are bullshit and don’t hold water.I don’t even know were Maureen leaves teams worse than he found them comes from.Every fucking team he goes to wins trohies,Barca was unbeatable guess what Maureen won the championship last year and beat Barca who are supposed to be the best ever. Will someone please tell me which club didn’t benefit from Maureen being there

  600. theradlegion says:

With fans these days.. if a main striker is off form.. use super sub.. if a super sub couldn’t score.. start throwing names on tables and let the football fantasy begins,

  601. theradlegion says:

    wayne,

I have to agree with you, the only concern I have with him is that he may require tons of money to buy star players something that he may not be able to do at United.

  602. NBI Red Onion says:

@ wayne – maybe you are right re this is the job and Club Maureen wanted, but for me he burnt alot of bridges to try to get here. Let’s see, it seems the United hierarchy is split on him. I expect what SAF recommends will carry alot of weight.

  603. WeAreUnited says:

    @theradlagion

usually many teams do that, when a player is off form you put an on form player to play, or is the world flat these days?

the point was, we needed goals, and rvp didn’t provide thsoe with decent chances, not that he’s not good, but when you’re off form, usually and on form player comes in and scores, and recently rooney has scored more than rvp , so has chicha.

as for the supersub thing, the point was, to bring him on to score, that’s why someone is called a supersub. even though stats tells us that chicha is strong as a sub but better as a starter. nobody bashed rvp, just that he’s been off form, but I get that sometimes and off form rvp can still produce. now it wasn’t liek that.

anyway like @NBi said, without that referee, we wdouln’t be talking about this. so calm down.

  604. WeAreUnited says:

    an **** not and

  605. StatesideAussie says:

Wayne … I’m with you on this. His record is simply too good to be a fluke, or an act of arse, or the result of transfer spending. And one of the things that I notice, and rate very much, is how highly his former players speak of him. Of course, there are exceptions, especially in the snake pit that is The Virus, where over-sized galactico egos have long ruled the day, encouraged by fawning upper-management. But over the years, many former players have made it clear they would crawl over broken glass and gargle vomit if Maureen wanted them to, even though he is also a strict disciplinarian. That speaks volumes.

Mourinho knows that the guy who can take over from Ferguson and continue our success over the long term will be a guy who goes down in the annals of football history as having pulled off “the impossible task”. That’s why he wants it, and that’s why, if he gets it, he’ll want to stay. I also think he’s the one with the best chance of pulling it off.

  606. Red Robin says:

Come on you Reds!! We have unsettled job to do.. the 20th!

For me that’s our priority this season. Everything else is just a bonus.

  607. wayne says:

NBI mate i love Ole and Giggs as much as anyone and hopefully one day will make the grade, but you must be fucking joking to rate either above Maureen for Utd’s manager, mate you’re a smart fucker and although i have issue’s i rate you but you must be smoking some good shit because the people you are talking about are not in Maureen’s universe
Another thing mate Dreaded is solid make peace or just stop talking shit, because he’s a Red and you were a cunt about Berba,Berba didn’t deserve the shit you were giving him and because of the horrible shit you were talking still not convinced you’re a true red.

  608. WeAreUnited says:

I also think that put mourinho for a 4-5year project and then make a transition where solskjear or giggsy comes into play.

Pep is gone to bayern so it’s mourinho where we can find the solution before getting our legends into managerial posts

  609. theradlegion says:

Ruud at some points did not score for a few games but once he did he was back to his lethal way, no he wasn’t supersubbed. The key is to be patient with these players.

What annoys me is the fact a lot of fans REQUIRE an INSTANT RESULT. When things don’t go their way, their last attempt is to play the fantasy football. I see it way too often here.

  610. NBI Red Onion says:

@ stateside – possibly subs could come quicker, but they weren’t expecting the card and had to warm up then they came on but by that time RM had scored twice.

Let us also not take away from what is a truly amazing occasion – how good was Ryan Giggs? At 39, he was marking the best player in the world, beating a LB for one of the top teams and making passes that you could watch on repeat, nothing should take away from the fact that we were here to see the 1000th master class of one of the true greats, you could put a web cam on Ryan and just watch him.

Let us also not take away from the sheer heart soul mind and brilliance of Sir Alex Ferguson, a man we are lucky enough to call our manager and see every game when future generations will be looking at statutes. He out thought Madrid, it was such a complex and beautiful chess board that in that moment you understood his talent, his ability, his adaptability, to lead his troops to beat any “enemy” of United and here like Giggs, the old Master Sir Alex outshone Maureen and took a step beyond him.

Let us also applaud the rise of our new youth products emerging on the global stage, in Welbeck Cleverly and Rafael we introduced new stars and they performed like champions and De Gea came of age and showed the critics that SAF had it right with him.

Let us bow to the world class masters of our defence, Rio, Vidic, Evra, they did not put a foot wrong they were imperious, let us hope there is one more CL title there for these treasured players.

And let us stand up for Michael Carrick, how good was he, how many blocks did he make, he was everywhere he was needed, cool under pressure, picking the right passes, and in the end down to 10 men he played his heart out busting a gut and doing everything he could to score, of all our players, I feel for him, he played the perfect game, he is a quiet lad, but you could see him battle even against 10 men to just try to hold it together and drag his team back in the game.

Stand up for United, this was the worst of nights, it was the best of nights.

  611. theradlegion says:

Ole is on his way, he needs to prove himself in a bigger pond. Giggs.. as much as I love the guy, what he has done that warrants the job. yes you’re right.. nothing yet.

  612. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

Rooney really can’t complain about being left out in this game. It was all about tactics and not a case of Fergie not liking him. If Fergie did not like Wayne, he would not be at this club anymore. I hope Rooney doesn’t take his omission the wrong way. We can only put 11 players on the pitch. Maybe he may have replaced Cleverley with Giggs playing in the middle with Carrick but Cleverley was very good till the red card. The plan worked perfectly till the red card. Van Persie is a far better hold up player than he is no offense. He’ll start on Sunday for sure alongside Hernandez probably and all thi rubbish that the British press is trying to start will be put to bed.

  613. theradlegion says:

Those who likes to question SAF.. this quote from Maurinho sums it up

“I think Sir Alex has won the right to have every decision acknowledged as correct and every decision should have no question mark. He is the best, he has created history. You are nobody and I am nobody to put a question mark in front of him. His team was very well organised.”

  614. NBI Red Onion says:

@ wayne – I know you are an old geezer, so I will show some respect for the shit you just said. Neither I – or SAF – rated Berba, nor did lots of United fans so deal with it, I am glad he was sold and we bought RVP, best decision. In term of Dreaded Red – you have never met him – I think he is a cunt and definitely not a United fan but a shit stirrer in my view, as you know Scott has banned him twice. Go on other club sites you will find Dreaded Blue, Dreaded White, who all sound very similar. He is a freak. But stick him up your ass if it makes you feel better. Kisses.

  615. WeAreUnited says:

@theradlegion we got instant result from RVP :D

well ignore those that want fantasy football, I highly doubt that anyone wants to cut rvp off, It’s just that he’s on a drought and chicha scores sometimes for fun and rooney has been in a good goalscoring run.

That’s all,. anwyay that being said. next time baby. now let’s bring that 20th back and win the fa-cup!

  616. StatesideAussie says:

NBI … good, uplifting words. I too think our lads can hold their heads high. I don’t agree on the substitutions though — Nani was sent off in the 56th minute, and our first sub (Rooney) didn’t come on until the 73rd minute, or 16 minutes later. It doesn’t take that long to warm up. As far as I recall, Modric hadn’t started to warm up when Nani was sent off, yet he was on only three minutes later. And the Virus’s first goal was a full 10 minutes after the red. I know it sounds like I’m trying to second-guess the boss, but I’m not really. I’m just a little befuddled by it. I think what befuddles me the most is not how long it took to get our first sub on, but that it then took even longer to bring the others on.

But you are right that there’s much to be proud of. The more I see of this squad, the more I have to think truly great things await in the next few seasons. Cheers

  617. theradlegion says:

    weareunited:
yup he will be scoring goals for fun very soon

  618. WeAreUnited says:

    @NBI

big respect about what you wrote mate! great read. Just think the starting of the season and how Giggsy was palaying badly in the middle. Then suddenly SAF remembered he’s a left winger and voila, Giggs ywas back in action and look at him now. WOW.

Compare ManUtd and R.Madrid. We have kept Giggsy and scholes, hell, we brought scholes from the retirement house, and look at madrid, they got rid of Raul, their biggest legend and Guti also, how can you do that? Respect for SAF and all the younger lads, eben though I don’t consider them young, but experienced younggsters :) Rafael himself said he’s not young anymroe.

Anyway, our transition is paying off, and after the 20th title, it will become even bigger! peace and good night

  619. NBI Red Onion says:

You know SAF has benched Ruud, Beckham, Ole and Scholes at their peak in the past, none of them made a fuss about it, so Rooney should understand that he picks the best team for the job at hand and get his wife to stop making stupid comments about team selection on twitter.

  620. NBI Red Onion says:

@ Stateside, WeAreUnited – thanks, point noted re subs, but yeah, there is alot of positives there to take away after the disappointment eases. What a hell of a performance by the lads.

Apparently Ronnie went into the home dressing room after the game…not sure how happy they would have been to him this time…!

  621. wayne says:

  622. Dela says:

    http://www1.skysports.com/watch/video/8542970/should-nani-have-been-sent-off?

For those of you who were annoyed with Roy Keane’s bullshit, watch the analysis above. Imagine, Sky Sports is the voice of reason all of a sudden. This video shows clearly what happened… Here it is…

1 – Evra intercepts a pass out to the wing by cutting it out and directing it high toward Nani.
2 – Nani sees it coming, he is facing it and he moves to intercept it.
3 – As the ball is coming toward the ground Nani raises his leg to control the ball, take it out of the air.
4 – Arbeloa runs into Nani, with Nani’s foot connecting with his rib cage.

    Some things to remember…

1 – Nani is not challenging for the ball, he’s not aware of the opponent.
2 – NO Real Madrid player complains to the referee or seeks a card.

I’m sorry, people can bang on about the “letter of the law” all they want, but for Roy Keane to be right tonight then Nani would have to have been knowingly challenging Arbeloa for the ball and decided to put in a dangerous tackle, but that’s NOT what happened, he tried to control the ball out of the air. Keane even somewhat admitted this by saying “does Nani really think he’s alone in 20 yards space” which is the dumbest fucking thing I’ve ever heard. It means that if Roy Keane is right, then NO player can EVER lift their foot high toward the ball ANYWHERE on the pitch because its “dangerous play.” So even if you are in clear space, lifting your foot to control the ball should be a red card, in the same way that a double-footed studs-up challenge is a straight red even if you don’t make contact? Are we really supposed to believe that?

But ye, we have to move on to this weekend and bounce back by throwing Chelsea out of the FA Cup but I really really feel like this is worse than almost all of our European Cup disappointments (well, besides the obvious, of course) and I’m not surprised that Mike Phelan had to attend the post-match conference instead of Fergie. It’s just wrong, it’s injustice and even though we bounce back so well so often, it’s just hard to take. However disappointed you were tonight… take that…. multiply it by 1000… and you get how Fergie feels right now. He must be about ready to start breaking shit… he must be thinking “what the fuck can I do to win this cup?” It always seems to go against us so badly in this one fucking cup.

  623. NBI Red Onion says:

I think the person who will be most shattered is Nani, guilt and anger, he will need to try to pull himself and his confidence together for the Chelsea game.

  624. Red10 says:

Unbelievable. Just when we thought match fixing was stamped out. Second time that a United team has had a unjustifiable wrong done to them with Mourinho as the manager of a Champions League team. Leads me to believe his money is going to more things than just his own personal gains. Check that Cuneyt in the next week to see what he’s driving, and don’t be surprised if it’s fast and expensive.

  625. Sushi says:

@Dela I disagree with one point you make mate. There was an RM player appealing for a red to the ref and that was the Filthy CHEATIN DIVING CUNT ramos. Ramos runs over like a fucking dozy cunt that he is and starts gesturing to the ref watch it again doesn’t even bother checking to see if his piece of shit team mate is injured. Thats what RM and Barcelona do during their so called “El Classicos” bunch of little girls diving about and cheating to send each other off.

  626. Sushi says:

he did to RVP in the first leg got him booked in 5 minutes flat for something not even remotely close to a foul. I’ve seen that cunt pull this shit before to

  627. Jon Phillips Rose Hill says:

    @Dela.

You’re spot on; no player can raise their foot high on te pitch as it’s dangerous play. And you’re wrong; he wouldn’t have to be KNOWINGLY challenging for the ball.

Everyone stop crying. Kompany was sent off in the FA Cup and the author went on to describe in great, disturbingly great, detail (hell hath no fury…) how by the letter of the law it was a sending off yet at least his feet took the ball.

The way you lot acted at the final whistle was utterly embarrassing. Ferdinand clapping in his face; Fergie ranting like a Grandad having too much special brew. So poor and classless.

  628. Sushi says:

as for mourinho he can fuck off to whatever other shit hole will have him. I dont want him and his brand of underhanded tactics and blatant cheating anywhere near United. He can go to some oil rich rag like PSG or city but never United I agree with Sir Bobby Charlton on this. I’m just gonna laugh if its to believed that FSW is on his way to Madrid that should be hilarious can’t wait to see him take down another team.

  629. NBI Red Onion says:

Retired referee Dermot Gallagher on BBC Radio 5 live: “[The decision was] harsh to say the least, but in fairness the Real player did Nani no favours whatsoever. At worst Nani catches the underside of his arm, certainly not the ribs as the guy has gone down and shown.
“I can’t reiterate enough that he [Nani] is watching the ball over his shoulder, there was no malice in him. At worst it was a yellow for dangerous play, but if I was refereeing that game I cannot see by what stretch of the imagination I would have sent him off for that.”

  630. NBI Red Onion says:

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho: “I can say for certain Arbeloa did not feign contact. It was quite strong and he was shown a red. It could have been a yellow. Playing with a man down for such a long period of time is going to change a lot. When we were against 10, we played very well for 10 minutes. We gave them a new problem they couldn’t solve.”

Everton manager David Moyes on BBC Radio 5 live: “I think tonight Sir Alex Ferguson will be rightly as angry as he has ever been. The decision changed the game. I am looking from a manager’s point of view and Manchester United have had a hard time tonight. I think they have a right to surround the referee. The decision was poor and it has cost them the biggest prize in football.”

Former Liverpool and Germany midfielder Dietmar Hamann on Sky Sports: “He wants to bring it down, I think no Real Madrid player expected it, nobody was claiming a red card. He didn’t see him he didn’t mean to do it, it’s not even a booking.”

Telegraph correspondent Henry Winter on Radio 5 live: “I actually thought the initial perpetrator was Arbeloa, who looked like he thought he had a free hit at Nani and was going to take it.”

  632. NBI Red Onion says:

The only one person to think it was a red for Nani is our former Captain, Roy Keane, beginning to see why SAF got rid of his poison spewing ass:

Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane on ITV: “I think the referee has actually made the right call. Everyone’s upset about it and it’s slightly unlucky, but it’s dangerous play. Whether he meant it or not is irrelevant. It’s dangerous play – it’s a red card. You have to be aware of other players on the pitch. Does he think he’s going to have 20 yards to himself? Whether it’s [a brave decision] or not, it’s the right decision. Whether he meant it or not doesn’t matter. Nani’s a quick boy to go down anyway. He’s not the bravest player on the planet.”

  633. NBI Red Onion says:

The law – for information Roy you twat – God never thought I would say that to a ledgend -

Fifa law 12, fouls and misconduct, states: “A player is guilty of serious foul play if he uses excessive force or brutality against an opponent when challenging for the ball when it is in play.” It clarifies: “Excessive force means that the player has far exceeded the necessary use of force and is in danger of injuring his opponent.”

Nani did not even bloody see his opponent he was trying to bring the ball down before it went out.

  634. Sushi says:

What Fergie hasn’t taught our players is how to cheat like the Virus and Barcelona. I wonder if the same “Journalists’ at rags like Daily Fail and Guardian and telegraph that stroke themselves off to Barcelona and their Tiki taka shit ever try to look at how those lot play when they come up against someone of equal footing. They go diving about like cunts with that donkey Maschero and BUsqettes.

  635. dannysoya LOVES USAIN BOLT says:

Jon Phillips Even Modric and Varane in their interviews after the game said they were surprised that the ref showed a red. Varane said that he never expected that to be a red card. Even the FOURTH OFFICIAL a member of the ref’s team was surprised by the decision. Are you kidding me? The decision was absolutely shocking and terrible. A red card has to be intended, has to be forceful and has to be reckless. The Nani incident only met ONE requirement. It was reckless and for that it should have been a yellow card without thinking twice and that was what I expected. This isn’t about getting overrawed in a big game this is about using your fucking brain. See some pictures where Ozil is flabbergasted that the ref has given them a golden opportunity to win the tie with the red card. When you have worked so hard for something and someone takes it away with a useless decision you would scream your head off.

Now i’m done complaining and I’m already on to the next match which is Chelsea but there is nothing classless about letting a bad referee know that he made a bad decision. If that was Di Maria that was given that red card you can guarantee this is the same thing that Real Madrid and Mourinho would have done.

I am not blaming Madrid for this. It is not their fault at all. They did what they were supposed to do ruthlessly i might add. This has nothing to ddo with them. This has EVERYTHING to do wit hthe referee and his linesman.

  638. NBI Red Onion says:

If these were the type of comments Keane was making about younger players, SAF was well rid, can’t believe he is attacking Nani like that, wasn’t Nani, Ronnie and Fletch the younger players he attacked on MUTV, what did they go on to achieve and and where are you now Keane? A bitter burnt up failed manager, SAF inspired a generation of players to become manager and so many past players respect and adore him, all your player have publicly said they hated you. You were great at United but you turned into a strange bitter twisted creature, full of himself and spewing poison, what a fall, you could have been truly loved.

I was unhappy SAF axed Keano like he did, but another decision SAF got right was shown for all the world to see, the bitterness and bile are there for all to see, not to mention the poor punditry – did you notice he did not mention or congratulate Giggs on his 1000th game. No class.

  639. Dela says:

    @Jon Phillips Rose Hill

“The way you lot acted at the final whistle was utterly embarrassing. Ferdinand clapping in his face; Fergie ranting like a Grandad having too much special brew. So poor and classless”

You support Manchester City…. a club that can’t fill its own stadium…. that before its current owners had a criminal owner…. that now has owners who take for themselves the national resources of a country and live like kings and leave many more in peasantry… that embraces a player like Tevez who spat in your face and fucked off to south america and left you all hating him until you badly needed him to come back and he came back to you… his bitch… and will probably get another pay-rise for being a disloyal cunt.

You sing about Mancini… yet when he’s fired at the end of the season you will embrace whoever Lord Mansour dictates will run your fiasco of a club. You pretend to have revenue increases when in fact your sponsorship sources of income are majority tied in one way or another to your owner because you can’t pay for the transfer fees and wages from real market-sourced revenue, and you can’t sign anyone for a decent fee on decent wages because nobody wants to play for you.

Your owners have actually said something that should get right until your skin… they want to be like US. Understand? They strive to be like Manchester “UNITED”, the only Manchester Club with a global presence. But even at that… with tickets for a few pounds for some of your games… 20,000 empty seats.

You say we have no class… LOL. Your club is a JOKE everywhere outside of Manchester. You have no respect, ANYWHERE, in the world. Now kindly fuck off back to your blue moon forums or whatever, I’m sure you have some mathematical equations to work on to figure out how the fuck you will retain the title you just barely were able to take from a struggling United last year, after spending hundreds of millions of pounds.

Let me also add, I disagree with you that Maureen showed class, he behaved the same way at the Barca wins if I am not mistaken, he hates RM, he liked his other clubs and it shows, he does not care for RM so why celebrate, he did not even acknowledge his own fans, is that class? SAF always waves.

  649. Stupidref says:

@NBI Red Onion, regarding your comments about Chicha will need to swallow and wait for minutes at United or better downgrade his football and play regularly for another team, I disagree with you, yes maybe Real Madrid, nor Barcelona or Bayern will take him, but unfortunately PSG, Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and others will be in quarterfinals and we will need to watch it at home!. Don’t get me wrong Manutd is my team but there are other teams where he can fit in without a problem… I hope he stays at united but I can’t imagine his frustration being the second best goal scorer and not even playing a minute in the 2 most important games of the season???

I can’t believe some people actually fell for Mourinho’s act he couldnt give a flying fuck he was play acting. He doesn’t give the first fuck about United he only ever gives a shit about himself.

  653. Marq says:

Whats with the Mourinho hate? He showed respect, acknowledged we were better, and that was that. So what if it was a show, at least he bothered, unlike so many other managers who think they are good just because they got one or two over us. Mourinho had nothing to do with Nani getting a red card, so rather than spill our bitterness everywhere unwarranted, lets show Chelsea & City who’s boss. We are not the bitters, we don’t moan at everything that moves, we are better than that, we rise to challenges

  654. Sushi says:

I’m not bitter at Mourinho I just dont like him as a manager and would rather he stayed well clear of United. We need to invest in a young manager whose willing to stay the course with fergie as the guiding hand.

But I will say congratulations to him nonetheless he’s clearly a talented manager just not my cup of tea.

onwards and upwards we still have a double to win

  655. samuel - united WE stand says:

Marq – it is NOT bitterness, it’s a mere disregard of the notion that mourinho was some-how honourable and classy, up to you if you want wave his flag, i and many probably will never do the same.

  656. Marq says:

Well, if showing us respect (with or without motive) is not honorable, then what is? Asking for a replay? I know Mourinho is in the bad books of some people, but to disregard any respect shown to us would make us look like spoilt brats. We should be a class act and just acknowledge it, thank it, and just move on. Who cares what he has in mind, if Sir Alex rates him, he will get the job. Fans must never ever have any say at all in who should be our next manager.

  657. Red10 says:

My question is: what was the referee thinking? At the moment there is a lot of talk about match fixing and I do find it quite interesting that twice mourinho has beaten United thanks to refereeing decisions.

Tonight’s game completely changed after that red. The player’s attitudes changed, the tactics changed, the atmosphere changed. I feel drained and completely angry by this. I could have accepted an even, fair loss, but this? This is just something that infuriates me, and especially since there is absolutely no recourse for it whatsoever.

I just hope that somebody whoops those spanish fascists.

  658. samuel - united WE stand says:

United rendered real clueless. They seem a one dimensional team that relies heavily on the counter attack. Yes they have world class players everywhere but as a team, they have only one way and united sussed them out. Suffocate the space and gaps and they struggle to find a way. That goal set united up well, they would have needed to go gung-ho as the game drawn to a close. in nani and welbeck, united had ball carriers with blistering pace and skill, they would have got caught out and yes, united would inevitably concede at some point, with 11 men, we would have scored too but united were strong defensively, mainly controlling the game in terms of how we laid our tactics and sir cunt from turkey thought it was time to play poker or in another way, take into full effect the bribe he has been paid to fix another pathway to the champions league title for “los virus”, i mean the other 9 CL they won with their dictator in charge is not enough, we must add to the cabinet of los virus, we must at all cost (including a couple of “chat” in a private jet) says michele plateeeeni. The loss is so difficult to take but must bounce back and drive on in the two remaining competition.

  659. samuel - united WE stand says:

Fans may not have a say in what manager comes in but believe it, they can drive the manager out. Being classy can be expressed in different ways in life, disgregarding what mourinho and his comrades have to say is a matter of choice and i think vast proportions of united fans agree. Ronaldo can dump his “love” for united in a sack of shit as wel, if he loved united, he would never have left a club that once cherished him, he’s just another player hoping to have long standing respect from his ex team, he bagged two crucial goals and we would be naive to assume he won’t be making a champagne toast to knocking united out on his old stomping ground, i’ve had enough of all the so called “ronaldo come home”, he hails from sunny madeira, couldn’t give less of a fuck about manchester, he’s got what he wanted and needs to stick to his new team that has relieved him off supposed “slavery”, yes because that term does not help some modern players being highlighted as primadonnas.

  660. JorgeCurioso says:

Fergie seems to like Mourinho a whole lot more than some commenters…

  661. Marq says:

    @samuel

Of course fans can drive managers out. But it is exactly this reason why they must never have a say in the first place. The only common way forward is to trust Sir Alex. Any other way and you will find that there will be opinions. The last thing we want is to create a bad atmosphere for the next manager. As it is now, there is a good chance Mourinho will be next, so do we want to do what Chelsea fans did to Benitez?

I do agree with you on the crazy clamour on bringing Ronaldo back. Yes he can improve us, but for me, the love affair is over, no looking back. We are doing fine without him, and right now, it just feels like we are 1 player in the middle of the park away from being perfect.

  664. StatesideAussie says:

I can’t predict who the next manager will be. But I can predict two things very confidentally:

    1. Regardless of who the new manager is, if he does well then the majority of fans will back him, including those who are initially opposed to him. Can anyone honestly say that if someone like Mauren took over and in his first five years (for example) won 3 PL titles (coming second the other two), a CL (or even two) and an FA Cup, that you would still want him out? Perhaps some of you feel that way now, but my bet is you’d change your tune.

    2. Regardless of who the new manager is, if he does NOT do well, the majority of fans will want him out, including those who initially support him. If a Giggs or OGS took over and in his first 5 years failed to win the PL or the CL (eith maybe only an FA Cup to show), would you still support him? What if we dropped out of the top 4 and Europe? If we became a mid-table team (don’t forget, it’s only a few years since the Dippers were a top 4 team and need I remind you where they are now?).

We’re fans. Fans are fickle. End of. Cheers!

  665. StatesideAussie says:

Oh, and I meant to add … have we forgotten that were plenty of fans who wanted SAF out in his first few years? The club made their decision to hire him and then they stood by him. (That’s one of the things that distinguishes United from the rest.) And when Sir Bobby says that there was never any consideration to dumping SAF in those bleak times (despite what the fans wanted), I believe him.

  666. zigoo says:

i dont understand how the talk went from the disaster that happend to nani to talk of replacing the great sir

sir alex tactically got it spot on and outplayed his counterpart…we were the much better team in both legs…fergie got his decision to drop roo and kagawa spot on as welbeck and nani were ripping real madrid on the counter…

u fickle little fuckers sir alex is still here and long may it continue…till he goes dont talk of replacing him

  667. StatesideAussie says:

Zigoo … there’s no talk of replacing SAF. At least, not by me. The subject came up because some on here liked what Maureen responded after the match, and others say he’s a cunt who should never be allowed into OT. So it’s not talk about replacing SAF in any imminent sense, it’s just idle banter about the prospect of Maureen taking over once SAF decides to step down (which I hope won’t be for years yet).

  668. Corea says:

Hope we clinch that 20th EPL title as soon as possible and play youngsters for the last 3-4 games of the season. And the smile on our faces will be back again.
And of course Chelsea on sunday. Not sure though how yesterdays’ disaster might affect the lads.
Hope OT will turn up on sunday.

We conceded unnecessary goals, Fergie might or should reacted to the sending off but who wants to discuss these things right now.

  669. kel says:

The match was awesome not for the result but for the spirit of the team, the crowd, the manager.

I have to mention that all 11 players was awesome. They stick to the tactics from Sir Alex, and work their socks off. They play with fighting spirit and was the better team even though Madrid had the most of the possession.

Nani red card was harsh, he didnt even know there is players coming in from behind, do you let the ball fly pass you or you jump to control the ball down.

We was on counter attacking and the ball fall to Nani who i thought play awesomely well. Never did he make one mistake or waste one chance. I was proud of him for what he did and he create trouble for the opponent.

The opponent make it a point to win with ugly tactics. I believe they cant win which is why they are play acting. Spanish league are like this, whoever acts well will win the game.

On why welbeck was chosen before Chicarito, Welbeck job was to nulify Alonso attack and dictate the tempo. He did very well until the red card where we are one man down and Alonso had time and space more.

I am proud of the team and i believe Nani has won many over with his above average display. I hope he can sign the new contract as we have been shown what a good player he is.

Like Mourinho mention, 11 v 11, we could have win.

We can only move on from here.

  670. Shebangsthedrums says:

Morning reds. I’m still in shock, f**k that ref. I’m so very proud, at least the world saw how good a team we are, even when some of our own fans have doubted it. Anyone calling for Sir Alex to go, be careful what you wish for. My initial thought after the game was that I hope that means Fergie is here for at least another year. As for Rooney, until the Nani red, the decision to leave him out was working. I support Rooney as long as he wears reds, but it’s not the same ever since he played the big I am, I’m not worried if he goes, United move on, that’s been shown time and time again. Oh and Roy Keane can do one aswell, how bitter has he become!

  671. lordrt says:

Looks like the Rooney rumours to PSG are strengthening, with him starting on the bench in such a big game. Yes he’s shown some disrespect to the club for the new contract, but the spirit he has and willingness to trackback and defend leaving his forward position is very difficult to find in many players. We lost, but all goes down to that red card which unsettled things up on the United end and kicked Real in action.
And for once Mourinho behaved like a gentleman, although while walking away before the final whistle some fans were abusing him, lol.
But now not to dwell on this and let’s move on to the crucial game against the FSW and his rent boys, kill them off this time I say, but definitely need not start RvP, the man seems lost for a couple of games now, and I would like to see Chicha and Rooney tear apart chelski along with Kagawa and the likes of Young and Valencia

  672. Bobby Charlton's combover says:

Shocked. Red Card? Wasn’t even a foul. I was expecting a drop ball.
Rooney was shit when he came on and Fergie was justified in his selection as they all did really well
especially Giggs. 40 Years old eh?

  673. Mr C says:

The day after the night before. Our tactics blunted Real’s game, 11 v 11, and our boys worked their socks off but in reality Real were always likely to score sooner or later, so we had to go for the win. This being so we had to take our chances when they came, but didn’t or couldn’t. So when Nani got sent off by that cunt of a ref it was game over…not enough margin to park to bus..There are lessons in there somewhere. Those turning over in my mind are ‘always play to your strengths’ or whether it pays at home to start with 2 of your 3 most potent strikers on the bench.

Ah fuck it. Sod the analysis and blame the ref, which is fair. The long and the short of it is that the ref fucked up an otherwise good contest.

  674. Hans says:

Yes we were hard done by a Turkish cunt is a Real Madrid fan (otherwise why follow them on his Twitter account), but cannot help the feeling that those missed chances at Bernabeu came back to haunt us!

Once down to ten men we had absolutely no chance, despite creating 4 good chances to equalise. You felt that they could score more if necessary. Even had we gone in front again, the Turkish cunt would have made sure his beloved team went through!!!!

We all now that UEFA is a useless organisation run by cunts, but one could have never predicted that they would give an obvious Real Madrid fan to referee a Real Madrid match?

Anyway, this is history now, and we should no try and do the domestic double. It will be interesting to see Rooney’s behaviour now! Is he going to be one of the lads or will he force himself out of OT!!!!

  675. FletchTHEMAN says:

Morning Reds. Feels like a Cunyet kind of day. Talking about poor UEFA referees ….. again.

But rather talk about the reds, how good was Giggs!
Lads can only focus on being brilliant one game at a time. We need to beat Chelsea, and better if we do it decisively. That will put some swagger into it.

Hope Rafa was watching Mourinho. Don’t usually say good things about Mourinho, but he didn’t say much wrong in his english interviews. Some of the French and Spanish ones were less forgiving though.

Anyway, need to clean some dirty laundry, then ready to sink a ship called Chelsea.

  678. gexmex says:

    some post night reflections:
    1. Where does Welbeck fit?. Conventional wisdom says that he is a very good player. Agreed. But what is his role? Obviously he is not a striker, since I have seen CBs with better finishing. He is not a “10″ player, he lacks the creativity. He runs fast, and he is good at keeping the ball. Yesterday he was given a specific task of pressuring Alonso and did it with honours. But how many teams play with an Alonso type of player? So where does he fit?
    2. What about rotation. RVP is a very tired striker, and his body is demanding some rest. So why did he appear against Norwich, what was the point? Punishing Hernandez for whatever he has done? Was Norwich such a threat? RVP was brought to the team with the CL in mind, not to win games against Norwich. Chicharito would had been more than enough to do that.
    3. Hernandez. SAF must have his reasons, but it’s obvious that Chicharito is no longer in his plans, and has no future with the team. I doubt he will be playing much til the end of the season, when he will be packing. I don’t think he will be moving to Spain, and I just hope he does not go to Arsenal or the scousers.
    4. Finally, Anderson. He was not even on the bench. Same like with Hernandez, there must be a reason. Valencia is having a horrid season, and yet one of the best midfielders, who could inject force and pace was left out.

  679. FletchTHEMAN says:

Arthur Albiston on SkySports Radio says Albeola made a meal of it.

Shouldn’t have been on the pitch actually. Made a shocking tackle on Nani in the first half.

At any rate, Nani gave the ref the opportunity and at 1-0 you always have the tie in the balance.
Bad day at the office in the end.

Hope Cakir doesn’t get another game against English teams.
5 red cards, all to english teams? What is that about!

  680. Proverb says:

We need to cool our heads down and focus on chelsea
That for me was like a win, I felt bad and nearly cried I must admit but then realised, this crap referees and UEFA at it have an agenda against english teams, its their competition so why feel bad about it, they make the rules and get to decide how they want their competition to flow so why cry
In footballing terms we outclassed those cheats, we outplayed them, we created the most chances
We had a good shout for a penalty denied
We still had the fire power after that harshest of sending off so why fucking bother, atleast we showed what we are made of…..

Where will your loyalty be if Hernandez was shipped out?

I am gutted today. The officiating over the two legs has been awful. The failure to send Varane off in the first leg when he brought Evra down, as well as last night’s decision, have been decisive.

But most of my anger today has been directed at Roy Fucking Keane. LEGEND MY ARSE. HE IS A BITTER FUCKING KNOB WHO STILL CAN’T ACCEPT THAT HE WAS SURPLUS TO REQUIREMENTS AND SHOWN THE DOOR AT UNITED. ALL HIS COMMENTS/”EXPERT ANALYSES” CONCERNING UNITED SHOW HOW MUCH OF EMNITY HE HARBOURS TOWARDS THE WIZARD. UNLIKE RUUD AND BECKS WHO ALSO HAD RUN-IN’S WITH THE GAFFER, HE LACKS CLASS.

HE HAS FAILED MISERABLY AS A MANAGER, HE CAN’T GET A JOB AT LOWLY BLACKBURN AND FOREST, SO THE DUMBWIT CAN ONLY REMAIN IN THE SPOTLIGHT BY SLATING OUR PLAYERS ,MANAGER AND TEAM.

GET A LIFE, YOU FUCKING CUNT, GET INTO BED WITH YOUR MATES DONKEY QUINN AND MICK MCCARTHY, AND DON’T COMMENT ON OUR CLUB.

    RED TILL I’M DEAD!

I didnt say that middle was bad, i said that we need to refresh our middle. I don t think that Giggs can play until 50…like i said 11 vs 11 RM could play 3 days, and they wouldnt score. I felt that we dont have to worey about missing chances as long as we makeing them, because RM cant do nothing to us.
But second goal….they attack us twice on the same way, and we wasnt careful about that, third time they scored. But tactic was great, i never seen RM so unpowerful against us. Their short passes didnt work, wich we had problem in the past with that kind of game. Ref is guilty, but also we are, we could score. And their goalkeeper, wasnt that good. Some shoots on goal was in his body, so that was reason why he saved some balls.

Hans @ 08:20: “cannot help the feeling that those missed chances at Bernabeu came back to haunt us!”

    Totally, totally agree.

In these two-leg affairs where away-goals count double, the two misses by RVP and the screw-up by TheLegend were damned-near disastrous. Add to that the non-call against Varane when he pulled down Evra who was through on goal and you have a perfect storm that made last night’s match so much in jeopardy.

NBI Red Onion is a liar. I have never been banned. I only visit United blogs, unless a pertinent article is linked from here. I have never commented on any non-United blog.

In fact, RoM has published various articles that I have written and submitted. It’s hardly likely that Scott would publish articles by a banned individual. I still use the same email address as I have used on RoM since the beginning.

If you want confirmation from Scott, mail him directly.

  688. UNITED says:

@Scott- i love reading this blog but dont be puss when united loose a big game. We want match reactions after every game.
