  1. Costas says:

Expected line up, except for the Young inclusion. I don’t get why Valencia and Nani can’t start together.

  2. cruserer says:

Bitters scored at St. James ;//

  3. samuel - united WE stand says:

    Definitely over now.

  4. KingOfStretfordEnd says:

Just read what Evra said. Hurts a lot to surrender top spot, being 8 points clear.

I love Evra, but i don’t know, i don’t like this victimized way of taking things. Play rubbish, we get rubbish. Extremely pissed off as I’m writing this watching toure score another.

Just feel like slapping ourselves and lining up our lads in a row and punching their guts.

  5. United14 says:

    NIAL QUINN IS A DICK.

  6. zigoo says:

    feel like crying…bye bye league…no :( :( fukin shittty :(

  7. fergie is the boss says:

Costas – I will never understand how that side never started against shitty

  8. orez says:

It’s done now. Don’t even want to type anything anymore. Fucking 8 points in 4 games.

  9. Marq says:

If we showed half the balls Newcastle did today, we wouldnt be in this position

  10. JC says:

Fuck me Newcastle after playing so well Wednesday and toure of all people, just goes to show we needed to take care of our own business and not depend on anyone else…

  11. torontored says:

    SHIT

    2 nil

    FUCK

We sure as shit blew this season

    UNITED 20 – 2013

  12. AntiScouser says:

Jones? Hope we fucking lose and City win the title with a 6 point margin like they deserve to.

  13. zigoo says:

we do need a player in midfield who scores goals … ahh fuckin hell…we need to score 10…feels like its a no show now for the guys..cant help but feel they will be drained and not up for it now

  14. Phil Jones' Birdshit Streaks says:

    Ok lads, 10-0 today please

  15. Costas says:

Oh well. Lets just enjoy our final game of the season at OT. Newcastle did what they could, but the midweek game was too much.

Our players better end the season with 2 wins now and never forget their pathetic attitude when we were 4-2 up against Everton. A valuable lesson for next season.

    @KOSE

Didn’t even bother reading his latest interview. He really should shut up. Some of our players have done more talking than playing well this season and he’s one of them.

  16. Robbo says:

Worried about Jones at FB against Sinclair.

  17. Marq says:

    @JC

You said it yourself that Newcastle had a tough midweek game. Yet they show more spirit and energy than us when we had a good full week rest

  18. Hans says:

Bye bye no 20. We stupidly let you go.

We have thrown titles before, but this one is surely down to Fergie himself. He should not start blaming this or that player!!!!

  19. mattos says:

    kingofstretford

you got a link to the evra interview?

  20. Touché says:

Swansea will press us high and rape us like so many.

  21. George Joseph says:

At the end of the day money talks and and bullshit walks. City have a great team yaya toure great player. Lack of investment will bite us in the asre boys

  22. Mash says:

    Blackburn

    Leeds

    Chelsea

    and now City

we’ll see off the oil money soon

  23. Costas says:

    @FITB

Don’t scratch new wounds. What was done was done. My main hope for the rest of the say is to see Berba get some action in his final game at OT.

  24. Ash says:

Fuck you newcastle for playing defensive football for 60 odd mins. I can’t stand city. Its not only because they are our main rivals but mainly because they are in pole position because of one reason only and thats Money. Fuck you sheik.

Now let us buy some players and get rid of dead wood please

    2013- 20 and 4

  25. Albert Ross says:

    Come on United!

  26. keano99 says:

@ Marq well said that’s the one thing we have been missing costas to his credit has been saying that since before christmas. Ya ya toure is a top player we miss a player like that, their going about kompany we have a better centre back than him his name vidic.

  27. Vishal S says:

Only option left now is to ATTACK!!
Just attack and score as many as we can!!!
If we could score 8 against Arsenal, we surely can do better against Swansea.
And all those who think the title race is over- City still have to play a game. And if we’ve seen something this season, its unpredictability.
If city do win it next week, then well done to them.
For now, stop moaning, and get behind the team!!

  28. Phil Jones' Birdshit Streaks says:

Agreed Costas. Evra has done far too much talking this season and hasn’t backed it up with good performances. Time after time he’s found wanting at left back, out of position, not tight enough, letting his man go etc. What does he have to do to lose his place?

Can easily see this being a 1-1 draw.

BTW, as an Englishman now living in the States, Fox Soccer presenters seriously need to shut the fuck up with ‘goal differential’. It’s fucking goal difference.

“A differential is a device, usually, but not necessarily, employing gears, which is connected to the outside world by three shafts, through which it transmits torque and rotation”

    Fucking prats.

  29. Ash says:

Someone should go and tell to fergie that Jones is not a rb player. Where the fuck is rafael. Getting very angry now.

  30. zigoo says:

i dont see why some of u r blaming newcastle…we cant blame them for our shortcomings..

ash..u slate them for playin defensively vs city…i dont think u watched our match against them last week…please people just stop blaming other teams when in reality the title was lost vs everton and wigan

  31. fergie is the boss says:

George Joseph – if we bought a couple of midfielders in the summer we would be champions

  32. Marq says:

Against Everton it was also Evra who went for glory and attacked to try and make it 5-2 that left his position empty for Everton to get their 3rd goal. Yes he almost made it 5 by hitting the post, by he should have known better to slow things down as the captain

  33. Touché says:

Surely we should be playing Rafa in this one? Swansea doesn’t play the long ball, the keep the ball down. In a couple of years time our team will consist of only Center backs, Wingers and Strikers.

  34. Red Neville says:

Only a few weeks ago when we were 8 points clear they were saying this title was going to be one of Fergie’s greatest triumphs – now it’s his and the players greatest ‘Devon loch’

I always feared something was going to come along at the end of Fergie’s reign at United to rub his nose in it – just like with Cloughie being relegated in his final season. I feared it was going to be a resurgent Liverpool. But maybe this is worse, let’s hope this is not the end for another quarter century.

  35. Yesred says:

Gutted is all I can say.

  36. Casper says:

We lost the title and its Ferguson’s fault. He keeps talking about carelessness in the Everton game but he was careless too. Smiling and chatting with the fourth official – his behaviour influenced the players. The manager’s behaviour ALWAYS influences the players. He keeps talking about youth in our team, about the transition the club is going through, yet average age of our midfield in the city game was 33! – so much for the transition…

  37. Saad says:

Call me naive and call it wishful thinking, but if United are to win this title, they ought to do it on the back of their own efforts rather than hoping for Newcastle (not anymore) and QPR to do us favors like Wigan and Everton did for City. Hence, we ought to go out there and do a Southampton or an Ipswich against this Swansea team.

Yes, wishful thinking it is, but by God, these lads are due for at least one redeeming performance in a season of under-performance.

  38. DEVILisRED says:

Come on United. Give us a good game today. U own the fans big time. Alot of é lads love evra abt his bullish talk & all….but too much for me. Hate it when footballer talk better than they play. Think some of è players talk too much after city lost against arsenal. Like evra, evans (how he turn his season ard), rafael (abt his chemistry with valencia)….kinda like end of season tributes. Well, tot è management should have sense it & step in to stop all these nonsense & place the lads feet firmly back onto the ground. Well, Perhaps i guess fergie got a little too complacent himself….remember him laughng & joking with the 4th official when we r 4-2 up vs everton. Hope everybody will remember this painful lesson. This is Manchester United. We dont explode the way we did this season. Make sure this is the first & last time.
    Chest out, Chin up.

  39. Vidic says:

QPR WILL BEAT CITY … not

  40. Collyhurst Red says:

    Mikekelly james

Just been in platts but didn’t see anyone who I thought might be you so I’m off.
Bit of a piss poor day so far but looking forward to a goalfest.

    Have a good day.
    :-)

  41. dasilvatwins says:

i know its a long shot…but what if they put 8-9 past swansea today.. unpredictable season…put 8 past le arse…..may aswell go out there to attack and not stop..

  42. Ash says:

    zigoo

I am not blaming newcastle for our tittle defeat. Did I say that. Newcaastle should have played with more passion.

But whatever we have to blame ourselves. Evra as a captian is also not great. He has been a liabilty at the back. Hope we sort everything by the time next season begins. Giggs and scholes should not be starting every game. They can’t do week and week out.

  43. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

” Why Always We? ”
    8 points lead gone
Scared of City at Emptyhad
    Battered by Bilbao
Given the boot by Basle and Benfica twice
    6-1
    Anderson still not fit
    Its Phelan’s fault

Looking set to lose the league by 3 points or Goal difference

  44. AntiScouser says:

    @Touché

Surely. But why do that when you can play an inexperienced, technically inferior player who’s not even a right back in that position?

  45. dasilvatwins says:

the chances of QPR taking points of city?

  46. Ash says:

I completely agree with Saad. Let us go down fighting. If we lose the tittle then it should be on Goal difference. It will be impossible to overcome the Goal difference. They are +10 ahead. We have to score atleast 7 today.

  47. Mash says:

People were distraught when chelsea dominated for a few years, but i’ll bet my life that we will see off city’s money.

  48. Red Neville says:

More chance of Elvis being discovered living on the moon with the Loch Ness monster in a castle made of Raspberry jelley.

  49. Vidic says:

    Kagawa is needed

  50. Dazbomber says:

We will win the leagueat Sunderland

  51. knightsmith says:

Let’s be truthful, we have been poor by our standards this season, and have had some shocking games, and been abysmal in Europe.

Finishing second is quite an achievement with the side we have at present, look at the goals we have shipped at Old Trafford!. But what I find most disheartening has been our lack of spirit at times.

The truth of the matter is that if we don’t invest in the Summer, especially midfield, we will be in danger of finishing outside the top three for the first time in twenty years next season.

    I just hope i’m wrong!

  52. zigoo says:

city are goin to get stronger…we r lookin at potentially RVP and eden hazard wearin the shitty blue next year…if we dont make some changes then we are looking at falling behind…because even chelsea will be much stronger next year and in all sadness, money talks in football…

  53. fRed Stick Red says:

You can’t be fuckin serious, is it me or has Jones been shit this year, his touch has regressed and his awareness and tactics nonexistent. Rafa is our best RB regardless of his everton display so why hasn’t Fergie paired him with valencia??? And for fucks sake play Nani instead of Young cuz he’s the better winger

  54. Marq says:

    @Ash

Newcastle not showing any passion? What game were you watching? Coloccini showed more passion than our whole team put together in the games against Wigan, Everton & City

  55. dasilvatwins says:

We often score six but we seldom score ten…….well ive never seen united score 10….this could be that moment?

  56. AntiScouser says:

I hope we lose both games. It should shut the mouths of some of our big mouthed stars and the Old Man ought to see the obvious things more clearly.

  57. Saad says:

    Mash

Cudos to your positive view and allow me to improve on it:

Two years (2005-2007) does not constitute a “few years”. It’s a slightly longer hiccup in the whole decade.

  58. Phil Jones' Birdshit Streaks says:

Sky Sports reporting that Fergie will be sticking with Scholes and Giggs next season and won’t let Berba leave on the cheap. I can’t help but think we might bring in Kagawa and that’ll be it. Nothing to strengthen the weak areas. If that is the case, then it’s gonna be the same short comings next season I feel, plus we may slip down the pecking order even more as everyone else strengthens.

  59. MG says:

It’s safe to say it ain’t over till its over but it’s sort of like over.

Costas was right the players let there guard down against Wigan and 4-2 up against Everton and what happened after was the end for most.

What was worse was the line up against city. We have known that the team were never going to win on goal difference so if we were to go down fighting we should have gone in with that mentality.

There is a lot to learn, and well SAF hasn’t got a long time left.

I don’t want him to go out like this, so I hope as always he knows what he’s doing.

    19

  60. Gorse Hill Red says:

Come on reds at least finish the season off with some passion. Gutted but we are United we will come back from this.

  61. Kings says:

Everton game killed it for us I’m afraid. Chasing another goal when all we had to do was close out the game and keep a 5 point lead going into the derby. Let them cunts have the title, it’s only on loan.

Can United score? They always score. We are going to need an avalanche of goals in the next two games.

United will never die. Hopefully Mancini will and very soon. Cunt.

  62. Heywood red says:

Bet yaya is shitting himself @the thought of going toe to toe with kagawa next season

  63. dasilvatwins says:

why berbatov hasnt played in more games ill never know…underrated player….class act……would have been perfect against the likes of wigan and in europe where united have failed to keep the ball or make that final third pass

  64. zigoo says:

bolton draw…qpr score…qpr more or less safe….so watch them roll over next week..all over lads

  65. Costas says:

We won’t overcome that GD guys. Fergie hasn’t made the line up with that thing in mind. Otherwise Nani would have started.

It’s too much. Even if we claw back the GD today, do you think we will win at Sunderland with more goals than City will at home against QPR?

But yeah, we should take it to the limit. There’s a slim chance that QPR will get anything at City, but they are fighting for their survival. We don’t want to kick ourselves if City gift us the title and we drop points.

  66. dasilvatwins says:

how good i kagawa btw? .. ive checked on Football manager….and hes ok , but of course he will be completely different in real life…anyone watch him play in the bundesliga?

  67. Gorse Hill Red says:

Come on Kings lets not go down that route mate. We know it was not mancini but the Sheiks billions that won City the title, Plain and simple.

  68. MG says:

QPR have scored just to make it really interesting next week.

Football bloody hell, who what have thought United and Barcelona would end up like this from last year?

  69. dasilvatwins says:

@costas….thanks for that..loool , i was just trying to cheer everyone up . lmao

  70. Corea says:

    Chin up lads.
I don’t believe we thrash Swansey today. Everytime this season we’ve had the chance to boost te GD we were simply not good enough.
That Wigan game was awful! Took the foot out of the pedall.

  71. James7t7 says:

Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack!!! That is all!

  72. NigerianRed says:

Im happy Nani is not starting today, he was a big disappointment aganst City and is the last player we need against a team like Swansea that pass the ball. Even though he seems more talented than Young and Valencia, we can trust them to work for the team and they show more consistency than he does, you can never be sure of the Nani that will turn up even when its a very important game.
If SAF decides to look at lessons learnt from this season, he should realize we need at least 2 world class central midfield players to join Carrick in the middle. Carrick has been great this season but he lacks the strength and stamina to stand up to a solid opposition that either know how to pass and run or have a player with the size and strength of Toure. We didnt see enough of Cleverly this season to hand him the creative role responsibility so we need him to prove himself next season. We also need 2 full backs on the left and right. Rafael is a good player but we cannot continue to hope he grows up quickly and learn to concentrate. I believe he should have competition for that spot and if he fails to live up and keeps losing concentration that have cost us so dearly, he might need to go and play in a slower league.
As for Park, i think he has done enough for the team, i dont see him contributing anything more at this point, he needs to move on.
I am so pissed off right now, just to think about it that we had No 20 in the bag nearly 2 weeks ago and it all came crumbling down in front of us right inside Old Trafford.

  73. Costas says:

On 2nd thought, QPR will probably be safe even if they lose. On paper they need a draw. But that’s assuming Bolton win. So yeah, don’t expect anything from them.

  74. fRed Stick Red says:

You guys hear about pogba leaving…WTF is going on with our club??? If our debt burden isn’t what it used to be then we need to be willing to pay high end wages to get class players in…to be outspent by stoke is a fucking shame…to say there is no value out there is a slap on the face of our collective intelligence…no value huh, whilst shitty buy kun and nasri and now hazard perhaps!! Something has to happen our we will no longer be a side that is feared

  75. Marq says:

The wrong Cisse scored. QPR won and are now 2 points above the drop zone. They just need to avoid defeat to be sure of survival. they can even lose if Bolton lose. Not do or die for them, so don’t bang on your hopes, unless Bolton scores 3 in the first half

  76. MG says:

    Right then

Premier league record here we come.

  77. wayne says:

agree MG the line up and tatics last week strangest part of the season for me,Utd 90% of the time play shit with a packed midfield and lone striker, why we didn’t go for it will be with me for a long time.

  78. zigoo says:

lads qpr will roll over next week they can lose n stay up…

miracle time…or just wait for the summer…and hope…or hear the usual no value in the market crap…while watchin city get stronger..

we never die though..keep that in mind

  79. Costas says:

    @dasilvatwins

Wasn’t referring to you in particular. I think some honestly believe we can pull the GD back, lol.

2 wins out of 2 is all I want anymore.

  80. Kings says:

Gorse Hill Red – Nothing to do with that, I said that in respect of the way he spoke to Fergie during the derby game. He is a snide cunt and I hope he dies and I stand by that.

  81. TonyBee Watson says:

Complacency fucked us up this year…especially when we went 8 points clear…..

fully expect QPR’s Barton to get a red against City….and for them Blue bastards to lift our title….

    but heyhoo onwards and upwards….

come on you fucking reds 6 -0 at least

  82. dasilvatwins says:

@costas …its ok , :D …im off to see the game CMON UNITED!

  83. JC says:

Hardest part to take for me is our goal differential is entirely down to the 1-6 right now, still come on boys lets make sure we put the pressure back on

  84. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

Jones has to learn to cross the ball someday !

What do these kids practice in training? How best to shave their armpits without cutting themselves !

  85. curtis says:

Let’s go united!!!:) will always love united..
If we lose the title on goal diff I think united will learn an important lesson.. So many times this season we’ve sat back after being one up.. Trust that next season we will not be doing that anymore. Had we been the usual ruthless manutd of old (punishing any team that shows weakness defensively) and not been happy with 3 points we might have still said its in our hands.. So very good lesson learnt no more sitting back on a 1-0 lead anymore!! Now come on united let’s get 10 today:)

  86. TonyBee Watson says:

bit too keen at the moment….passes going all over the fucking place

  87. Iversen says:

FUCK! Was really hoping Rafa would start with Tony today.. Hope PJ is let of his leash atleast.

  88. Mash says:

We can all say we didnt buy players etc, but sir alex can only work with the money he’s given, and god knows how much the fucking glazers give him, could be absolutely nothing, could be peanuts.

  89. AntiScouser says:

    Old Trafford, the local morgue.

  90. MG says:

    Again we’ve left it late

We’re playing like we need to win a title -should have happened three matches ago.

Oh well might as well see what they can come up with…

  91. Brendan says:

Utd bottled it end of fergie you lost it for us nobody else, 8 points up well done city you deserve it.

  92. James7t7 says:

Why are they saying it will be like a morgue in Old Trafford? Not much difference from every week then?!?!? :D

  93. mancdub says:

City will buy players but can still only put 11 on the pitch.
If they bring in Van Persie and Hazzard it will be at the expense of 2 very good players. Whoever that might be.
I hate all the all the transfer bullshit. I hope we get kagawa because he looks a very good player and the story seems to have substance.
Let city buy whoever the fuck they want. There’s still plenty of good  players out there that consider the honour or wearing our shirt more important than their filthy cash.
    Fuck city.

  94. Corea says:

Finally not winning the league with current captain.
You know i should have shut up and would have been rubbish if he managed to take us to the 20th with the captain armband.
    Have a great evening everyone.

  95. Corea says:

And please. Just leave Phil Jones alone for fucks sake. Our future captain you know!
Hope with titles to add to that.

  96. Devil310 says:

Fellas…..lets look ahead and not to the past

First things first. Win today. Win next week.

QPR will play for their lives to get a result next week. They’re only 2 points ahead Bolton, with a comfortable goal difference. All they have to do is tie to stay up….and I know its a long shot but there’s still a shot.

    BELIEVE!

  97. James7t7 says:

When Fergie said that March will be the key month.. I think this time he woke up too early!!

  98. mancdub says:

    Brendan shut up you dick.

  99. kev e says:

comes to something when the commentators are syaing that roon and carrick are trying to play a ‘swansea-like’ 1-2!!! wtf!… hilarious :D

  100. James7t7 says:

Very laboured performance so far… Please do not gift wrap it too.. That would be the final straw

  101. Tannor says:

I like the general honesty on here lads. We all agree on one thing; our team needs rejuvinating, we have huffed and puffed the whole season. We have virtually dragged ourselves to the finish line but not fast enough to get there first.
A couple of quality in the midfield and consistent investment over the coming years will ensure that we overcome this new “enemy”. Remember Liverpool, Arsenal, Leeds, Chelsea and now City…..
UNITED has prevailed against all of them, City won’t be different.
Let’s finish the season strong…We are United

  102. TonyBee Watson says:

Corea ….Jones…. Future captain …never in a million years …give him another season and if he don’t improve he will be out the fucking door

  103. Bigtone says:

we’re sellin berba coz he plays 2 slow, he’d look fukin speedy in this team

  104. Vilhelm28 says:

A goal or two and it could turn out pretty nice

  105. James7t7 says:

    That’s 1 9 to go!

  106. TonyBee Watson says:

    ginger Prince …jammy cunt

  107. AntiScouser says:

I’m against Jones playing in this game (and in some of the previous ones), not against him generally. He might turn out to be good.

  108. Marq says:

Why oh why didn’t Valencia start against City…

  109. curtis says:

1 down 9 to go!!! Haha

  110. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

    Scholes Score Goals !

  111. TonyBee Watson says:

Hernadez last year would have scored that back heel….

  112. MG says:

This game just proves that our line up on Monday was so wrong.

I personally don’t believe that SAF notes on match day were right, United were poor on Monday, now they have to come back to what United really are.

    19

  113. Hans says:

Come on united for fuck sake. A couple more before the end of first half and then who knows?

  114. mancdub says:

Why are some posters commenting on OT being like a morgue?
Get yourselves down there and do something about it if it bothers you so much.
    1-0 good lad Scholes

  115. James7t7 says:

Jones is too much of a giddy get at the mo.. Totally agree he’s got as much chance of being our future captain as Moyes has of our future boss. Holy shit that’s a bleak future!!!

  116. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

    CMON HERNANDEZ LAD !

    Grab us a goal son ! ;)

  117. Joffrey Baratheon says:

Ashley Young up to his old tricks again! That dive put a smile on my face.

  118. Bigtone says:

y is evra captain? y is evra even playing? y is evra anywhere near our club? he seems 2 b the leader of a whole group of players who r happy 2 lose. fuk off u cunt we’re united. y hav we gone fukin soft?

  119. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

    Ashley Young YOU BEAUTY !

Good man, he’s been immense and key in the last month…until Fergie gave in to media pressure.

  120. micho says:

    Berba badly needed all season

  121. curtis says:

Here I was hoping to be 5 up at half time lol :)

  122. stan says:

It hurts to say it but I want City win the title. Man Utd have been coasting to titles for the past 2 seasons, hope this kick starts Utd again and we buy atleast 1 player to get that fear factor back.

  123. kenyan Red says:

Absolutely GUTED!! Can’t imagin this is how Arsenal fans feel every year!!

  124. James7t7 says:

    2 down 8 to go!

  125. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

    Its Yung ! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAALLLLLLLL

  126. curtis says:

    2 down 8 to go

  127. MG says:

I repeat where was this Manchester United on Monday?

  128. Marq says:

Why oh why didn’t young start on monday

  129. Devil310 says:

    2 nil….8 to go :P

  130. FletchTHEMAN says:

    Young 2-0 !!!! United v Swans

  131. Vilhelm28 says:

Like I said a couple of goals and this can get interesting. So many fucking whiners here with no clue of football and tactics.

Still time for a third before half

  132. DEVILisRED says:

Good attitude shown today on the pitch. Well done lads. Love their urgency & no- nonsense play. Well done! Proud to be a red!

  133. mattos says:

carrick is having an absolute blinder

  134. Norman-85 says:

Ipswich in 95 was only 3-0 at half time :-)

  135. Marq says:

This was the team that should have started agaisnt City, except Welbeck for Hernandez.

Young our best player by a mile in the first half

  136. NigerianRed says:

I think Young will be a revealation next season. Hopefully the diving tag would have worn off and he will be able to stay on his feet more. But as for delivery, he is way up there and can only get better. Nani will have to work extremely hard to get a place in the team cos i will find it hard to understand if SAF drops either Young or Valencia for him.

  137. Costas says:

Really terrific performance. More impressed with the attitude though. The players want to go down fighting.

Little Pea doesn’t look like scoring, but I love how he’s urging on the team. Bring on the Berb as well and maybe we will score 10. :P

  138. Dela says:

Lads are playing ridiculously well. Great attitude to see considering the City result today. Unlucky not to be a couple more goals up, but hey, let’s cut into the GD in the second half anyway and then come out with the same attitude against QPR next week. Yes, we have a 1% chance of turning it around now… but what chance did we have in May 1999 in the champs league final after the 90th??? less than that id say!

I refuse to give up until the scarface argentinian traitor lifts the trophy.

  139. kenyan Red says:

Even if we get 5 don’t think we can get 5+ at sunderland

  140. frankie says:

Young and Valencia are ripping them appart!

  141. FletchTHEMAN says:

Nice to see Young Stay on his feet for 2-0

    Fergie had a word ;)

  142. dasilvatwins says:

all this talk about monday…FUCK IT MONDAY IS GONE …fact is fergie could have played 11 different players and the result would have been the same….its football we cant say they would have won with this team……anyway back to todays game….hopefully they keep the tempo up , would love to see berbatov get in on the act , last home game for him….prediction ? 5-0 :D

  143. Costas says:

Like MG said, we could have done with this United on Monday. :(

At least we are losing the right way.

  144. WeAreUnited says:

Now we need later on to bring NANI on then maybe even berba for more goals.

    It’s on, well somehow:P 8 to go

  145. Ash says:

Good half. I am happy atleast we are Giving our best. No more talk of monday plz. Let us score another 4 atleast. If we lose by 5 odd goal difference then our defenders would have to be blamed. Remember we conceded 3 goals against city in injury time. Those bloddy Norwich who also conceded 6 last month. That gave city the confidence and also a huge GD.

  146. Costas says:

    Losing the title I mean.

Young playing very well too. Thought I should add that. :)

  147. Bigtone says:

mattos wot fukin game u watchin? all i’ve seen carrick do is pass it sideways n look lost. dont get me wrong i think hes a gr8 player wen theres nothing in it, its just wen it matters that he loses his bollox

  148. James7t7 says:

@Costas.. Totally agree… Just gotta get goal getting 2nd half… These 10 goals difference goes back to the result I won’t mention. Go for it lads… Nowt else to lose!

  149. dasilvatwins says:

@bigtone …. judging on this game today he has played great

  150. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

Great performance from Young,Jones,Carrick,Scholes and Evra.

2-0 is a dangerous scoreline the next goal is key.

We need to come out after H-T and score within 10 minutes, kill the game off and go for Swansea’s limbs and score as many as possible.

We have to win, We have to get a clean sheet and we need regain that dignity we have lost.

UNITED TILL I DIE….cmon lads get stuck in !

  151. NigerianRed says:

We could hve been 5 up with the 2 misses from Hernandez and the missed header from Smalings. If this team concentrates, i think we can score as much as 6 or even 10 goals today. They just need to believe and want it that much.
For those complaining SAF should have gone with this team on monday, we seem to forget City have better players and we were playing at the Etihad so possession would not have been like this. Secondly, Carrick and Scholes would not have been able to stand up to Toure in the midfield and also hold the onslaught of Tevez, Silva and Aguero. I agree Valencia should have played ahead of Nani and Young brought into the mix earlier in the 2nd half when Scholes began to tire but the result could have been the same outcome

  152. Bigtone says:

dasilvatwins yung n tony v are playing well i dont c carrick doing anything 4 us sorry mate

  153. oenga says:

I refuse to loose. sparky the last red devil standing. the shall not pass!
    meanwhile 8 to go

  154. Bigtone says:

speaking of dasilva twins id rather have both of them on the pitch than evra n jones, no offense 2 the big lad but rafael he aint! o an i fkn h8 evra!

  155. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

Another wonky cross from the BEAST !

  156. Hans says:

What is the point of playing Jones at RB?

  157. JC says:

I love Jones but he’s almost Bebe like with his crossing lately… :D

  158. James7t7 says:

What on earth is de gea playing at?!?!?

  159. kev e says:

that ball seemed to skip right up off the pitch… nearly caught ddg out…

  160. Vilhelm28 says:

Rooney has been huge today. Getting close to three and then it will start raining in.

  161. TonyBee Watson says:

come on you fucking reds …attack attack attack

  162. kev e says:

wonder what phil jones cross completion figures are like? tbh i wonder what rooney’s cross completion figures are like?

  163. Phil Jones' Birdshit Streaks says:

Other than running with the ball and the fact he seems to have a lot of energy, Jones is pretty damn fucking useless. I hope the staff can work with him and make him into a United player, because he certainly hasn’t looked like one for the majority of this season. Also, Rooney… get your head in the game son. We NEED goals. Jesus, this is frustrating.

  164. James7t7 says:

Utd players getting wound up… To late for that chaps!!

  165. TonyBee Watson says:

    Jones is shit……
    Carrick is shit….
    DeGea is shit
SAF is a clueless cunt….heard it all before….

  166. passe says:

I say skip the ridiculous pr shit that is pre-season and stay at carrington and practise crosses

  167. TonyBee Watson says:

thats what Degea is there for ……

  168. Shebangsthedrums says:

That was too close. Disappointed in Rooney so far, Young easily our best player.

  169. NigerianRed says:

Someone needs to tell Jones to stop attempting to cross the ball, its embarassing whenever he does it.

  170. Vilhelm28 says:

    So close, get in

  171. Bigtone says:

more stellar trackin bak by carrick, way 2 watch everybody run past u man

  172. TonyBee Watson says:

    anyone know the bench today…?

  173. James7t7 says:

If only we had attacked like this against Fulham and QPR…

  174. curtis says:

This is the ashley young we need on a consistent basis.. But to be fair he was on form before his injury.. Love how he’s taking on players.. On a side note rooney seems to make the hard passes look easy and the easy passes fucking ridiculously hard lol

  175. James7t7 says:

Our defense is laughable at times…

  176. Kace Kun says:

    Fergie
    Five words
    BRING IN BERBATOV & CLEVERLEY!!!

  177. Bigtone says:

scholes has run out of steam and this swansea pressure is wot happens wen u rely on carrick im afraid

  178. Norman-85 says:

there’s the problem all season – simple pass goes astray

  179. kev e says:

that sigurdsson fella is quite a tidy little player…. might be a good option as the 3rd CM we buy…

  180. Shebangsthedrums says:

The title’s as good as gone, we won’t make up the goal difference, so can we get Cleverley on please.

  181. TonyBee Watson says:

    who’s on our bench today?

  182. Shebangsthedrums says:

    Yes, come on Clevs!

  183. Bigtone says:

    well its about fukin time

  184. James7t7 says:

Valencia is having a mare today

  185. kev e says:

Good chant from the Swans fans there for Ash!!!

  186. Marq says:

Rooney is horribly out of form with his touch & passing

  187. passe says:

Can anyone come up with a reason why not to get on Berbatov? This is fucking laughable….

  188. Hans says:

We are absolutely clueless going forward. At the back we are making silly mistakes, just like Everton!!

Feel sorry for fans at OT!!!

  189. Shebangsthedrums says:

It’s not happening for Valencia today. I say take Jones off, put Tony at RB and bring on Nani.

  190. James7t7 says:

Geez Valencia… Stitched Rooney up there

  191. Hans says:

United of old would have had at least 5-6 goals by now. We are a sorry shadow of what we used to be.

  192. leetguy1101 says:

    On BBC Live:

Ahmet Kemal on Twitter: “So far Hernandez seems a waste of money, as does Jones and Smalling.”

Someone do me a favour and reason with this guy.

  193. James7t7 says:

This team loses its way in games.. Their own worst enemy.

  194. Norman-85 says:

more chance of swansea scoring here – same old problem this season – disappear in second half.

  195. TonyBee Watson says:

reason Berbatov aint getting on is cos SAF recognises he aint the player he thought he would or could become…too laid back for his own good unfortunately

  196. Vilhelm28 says:

Come on, 2 more goals, we can do it

  197. NBI Red Onion says:

Vaklencia plays so much better with Rafael, we nee his attacking threat. What the hell happened to Rooneys ball control.

  198. mattos says:

carrick is playing exceptionally. and i have no idea how rooney didnt bury that one

  199. Marq says:

    Berbatov on for Rooney please…

  200. TonyBee Watson says:

    agree shebangs… good attacking move

  201. Hans says:

I just hope we do not have to wait long time for No 20. In all honesty this team has overachieved this season. With injuries and all, it is amazing we were in position to win it anyway.

  202. NBI Red Onion says:

Rooney looks mentally out of it, weight of carrying team, lack of real competition

  203. passe says:

Who cares if he is laid back? It is his last fucking game at home and we have nothing to play for. Been treated like shit the whole season

  204. MG says:

Sorry we are winning defending tightly why did we not do this three matches ago?

Why the fuck are we chasing a bastard goal difference, where by now this team would have won the premiership if they had not been careless?

  205. James7t7 says:

Why not stick Berb up front and go for it… Frustrating tactics SAF

  206. mattos says:

bigtone you must be a muppet. “all he has done is passed sideways”.. yeah thats why he’s put on 4 chances for the team so far. i think your the one who is watching the wrong game.

  207. eric keane says:

Hans bigtone etc, what exactly do you guys want?
Did you really expect us to score 10 goals? Being optimistic to the point of foolishness is not good

  208. Marq says:

    There you go

  209. James7t7 says:

    Rooney for Berb? Absolute Nonsense!

  210. redbilly says:

Assuming we win today :-) , we go into the last gasp. Right down to the wire . There is a possibility that QPR win draw and we win. Yes the odds are not at all in our favour but the possibility exists neverthless. Call me deluded if you wish , But I refuse to conciede until its finished.

    Love United hate yaya :-)

  211. TonyBee Watson says:

hoo fucking ray…. berbs on finally

  212. FletchTHEMAN says:

    Rooney off, Berbatov on 78′

  213. Shebangsthedrums says:

NBI – Rooneys ball. On troll has been hit and miss all season.

  214. Shebangsthedrums says:

    “control” stupid predictive text.

  215. Hans says:

    Keanoo there’s only one Keanooooo!!!!

We desperately missed somebody like Keano for this season’s run in!!!!

  216. TraffordLord says:

This title if lost, was delivered to the $hitty gates care of SAF and Phelan.

    Still one more game though.

I expect a coaching staff change next season, it has been a slow death of the ‘united style’ of play after the Ronald-Tevez years, and our tactical awareness has all but disappeared. Mike Phelan and gang might be good on the training ground, they need to stay doing the cones and drills but we need an astute assistant manager. Mancini has been the better manager this season, that’s why his team are closing in on a title after chasing an 8 point deficit.

Can QPR change things next week? We are depending on a team in relegation form to do us a favor, it not outside the realms of possibility as Blackburn showed when they thrashed us at OT. City will not be as complacent and lacklustre I think.

United for life, if we fall- we will rise again!

  217. zelh says:

    roll on the new season!

dunno how we fucked up a 8-point lead with 6 games to go.
just didn’t deserve it this year. have played some attrocious football at times.

hope we do some business in summer.

  218. kev e says:

Why does it look like there’s a big hole in the middle of the pitch for united today now that Scholesy has gone off… I don’t understand. Have Swansea got 3 in there or what? :(

  219. James7t7 says:

Didn’t Solkjaer score 4 in last 10 mins… Where are ya Oly!!!!

  220. TonyBee Watson says:

Jones is shit aint he….his passing/crossing is abysmal

  221. zelh says:

Can anyone explain to me why Jones is starting in front of Rafael?
Doesn’t make any sense to me.

  222. redbilly says:

    mancub- fuck city, exactly.

  223. eric keane says:

Nice to see fletch! How we have missed him this season!

  224. Bigtone says:

    mattos 4 chances? when?

  225. FletchTHEMAN says:

“Good header from Jones” 81′. First positive words from the commentator on Jones for entire match. #MUFC

  226. Hans says:

    @TraffordLord
Rent boys put 6 behind QPR. $hitty is going to stuff them as well.

  227. Shebangsthedrums says:

Smalling injured, why can’t we keep defenders injury free, it’s cost us this season.

  228. AntiScouser says:

What a shite season. We need 3 quality signings at least.

  229. kev e says:

Fletch don’t look well though does he… be amazed if he’s back next season. C’mon Fletch… all the best mate.

  230. passe says:

Players getting injuries from passing the ball now… Fuck this season

  231. TonyBee Watson says:

    AntiScouser says:
What a shite season. We need 3 quality signings at least.

and to lose a certain assistant manager……

  232. zelh says:

sign a new medical team, too.
players dropping like flies all season.

  233. TonyBee Watson says:

bye bye Rio….will we see him next year?

  234. Hans says:

    @AntiScouser

I thing we need more like 5-6 good players.

  235. Marq says:

Young seems the only one interested

  236. Shebangsthedrums says:

I can’t believe the empty seats. It’s the frigging last game of the season, stay and show some appreciation to the lads.

  237. WeAreUnited says:

    if we need GOALS,

why we don’t play with 3 defenders, bring NANI in and wow,

    i have no words anymore,

somehow VALENCIA has looked for me awful, he cannot go a player, 2 of 10 time, i love the guy but don’t know his level has went down since that blackburn game.

next year then boys :) )) Of course I hope City slips at home but how unlikely is it.

    we are UNITED½!

  238. zelh says:

    5-6 new good players?
    some should get a grip.

get 2 good midfielders and a new LB and we are sorted in my eyes.

  239. kev e says:

Rio out for the Euros? Save Woy having to make a decision about playing him with CLLC.

  240. TonyBee Watson says:

the ref aint helping either is he….. cunt aint giving fuck all our way

  241. Hans says:

Glimpses of genius by Berba! he was criminally underused this season!!!

  242. TonyBee Watson says:

    fuckpig Foy

  243. TraffordLord says:

    @ Hans

It’s what I really fear, $hitty have too many players with the ‘magic’ touch so they can break down any team even if they park the bus.

Good on Alan Tate and Berba, given a chance to play at OT today.

  244. mattos says:

    bigtone

three first half one second bigtone. the hit that led to scholes’ goal, the flick on at the near post for smalling who headed wide, a through ball to ashley young and the one touch pass to rooney in the second half which rooney missed.

now apologise for being such a tosser

  245. Vilhelm28 says:

Too bad we didnt put our chances away. Could have been six today easily. Great performance and pace. Did Berba care?

  246. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

This is precisely why we are behind Shitty !

We lack the bravery to go in for the kill.

Forget about the cups, time to find the bottle !

  247. kev e says:

It’s all gone a bit lethargic from United. Clearly they’re not going to score a hatful (and anybody who really thought we were going to stick a hatful past Swansea were off their rockers) but they should keep going to the end. No wonder the fans are off…. Not the way to finish the last game of the season at OT. Show some spirit!!!!!

  248. James7t7 says:

Sums up season… Ave at best

  249. AntiScouser says:

Never have we ended the season on such a low and pessimistic note.

  250. kev e says:

The empty seats are fucking shocking! If I was lucky enough to have a season ticket I’d be there to the very end…. Shocking!!

  251. TonyBee Watson says:

oh well least we didn’t lose last OT game of the season…

  252. Shebangsthedrums says:

Come on Sparky, my all time favourite player. He always turned up for us in the big games, can he do it one more time and lift QPR to the performance of their lives?

  253. JC says:

Well it’s a win, but today was another lesson in how to be wasteful in front of goal. Swansea came expecting to lose no questions there but we easily could have put some pressure on the GD with a little more concentration.

  254. parryheid says:

Good display today could and should have scored many more goals,Chicha particularly wasteful.Still Three great points.

  255. NigerianRed says:

Todays performance sums up the season, this team is actually not good enough as it is to challenge for the title next season or even rule europe. They couldn’t score not because the chances were not there but they just could not give enough. We played like we were in City’s position in the 2nd half, holding on with a 2 goal lead whle the attacking players faded into oblivion.
Rooney went back to his old petulant self that seems more likely to pick up a card than score a goal or make an intelligent pass. Only Young looked Man Utd quality out there in the 2nd half

  256. Dazbomber says:

Job done go to Sunderland and win , pride comes before a fall . It’s hard to have faith and believe when things are a struggle but I have faith and I do believe we will win the league.

  257. Hans says:

    Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic!!!!!

That’s all we can say about today’s performance. Swansea were there for stuffing, but yet again we did nothing about it.

Despite many injuries, complacency, bad attitude and some bad team selections and at times tactics cost us this season.

  258. LUHG says:

Next season, we’ll be stronger !!!!!!We’ll never die!!!!!

  259. Dela says:

Disappointing second half. It really sucks that we can create so many chances and put away such a small proportion of them.

  260. kev e says:

Nigerian Red… Rooney? Petulant self? He’s been booked once this season in the PL… Today!

  261. Shebangsthedrums says:

kev e – agree. So what if the fans are disappointed, it’s the last game at OT. That’s why people call us glory hunters.

  262. AntiScouser says:

    @Shebangsthedrums

If only he could. It’ll probably be 6:0 City, let’s be honest.

  263. Gorse Hill Red says:

Kev e your right there and to think United did not give me a ticket when I applied. The United players body language summed it up for me at the end. Like Fergie said next week could be the biggest celebration of our lives! Believe.

  264. Gorse Hill Red says:

At least Fred the Red seems upbeat!

  265. NigerianRed says:

@Dazbomber, are you serious? You want QPR to do us a favor so we can win the league? We culdnt even convert our chances today, in the 2nd half, we looked clueless and couldnt even score to increase our chances.
I think most of these players lack the mentality of fighting for success. SAF has a lot of work to do cos there’s a big attitude problem with this team and if new players are brought in with this attitude in the team, they will probably fail to deliver

  266. Bigtone says:

im a tosser becoz i believe we shud hava strong driving midfielder rather than a bottlin geordie? kiss my fukin arse cunt.iv bin followin this team ova 30 years and im entitled 2 my opinion u dont like it wel fuk u

  267. parryheid says:

Ah that’s a blow just discovered City won damn.

  268. Costas says:

We were never going to score 10 ffs. No need to moan about the performance. It was pretty good in the first half, but you can’t keep that tempo going for 90 minutes.

That being said, I hope we will have 2 defenders fit for next weekend. And maybe Rooney more interested than he was today. Sunderland won’t be a walk in the park.

Wish Berbatov got more minutes in his last OT appearance. Not a lot you can do with 15 minutes and when everyone around you starting to tire.

  269. curtis says:

Does anyone else think that rooney couldn’t give a toss about united.. I know all the lads were down and out today.. But I’ve noticed over the last few months he hardly seems interested when we score goals similar to the way ronaldo was in his last season with us.. So to my main question does it look like he could be on his way? Or is his mind on the euros and the fact that he won’t be playing? Anyway I still don’t think its over.. The positive thing about today if I’m optimistic is, we seem to have declared it all over which may transfer to city and there players.. Hopefully complacency creeps in and come final day of the season qpr catch them off the back of their pre celebrattions.. Long shot but hopefull all we can do is win at sunderland and hope.. But somehow I have a strange feeling about this one.. I have thoughts that city will draw at home.. Somehow I have nightmares that we will not do the business either :( lol

  270. kev e says:

Disappointed today or not those players have played their hearts out this season to have ended up where they have… joint top with one game to go. We could still win it for fucks sake!!!!!

Some of them are in their first season some of them are children in reality, Smalling, DDG, Rafa, Jones… Some of the others have been brilliant carrick, valencia, rooney, evans… and others have sweat blood to play as many games as they have Scholes, Giggs, even Rio. The whole fucking crowd should be giving them a standing ovation! We can’t and aren’t going to win every year when the oil barons spunk a billion quid on a team in 2 seasons… Everyone who has left should forfeit their ticket and be given to supporters who would sing their fucking hearts out until the last breath!

It’s fucking embarassing….! #angryface. Do you think StR will post a picture with the title ‘This is how it feels to be supported by prawn sandwich eaters’

    @shebangsthedrums / gorse hill red – I’d have a drum and a megaphone… and a massive stick.

  271. Shebangsthedrums says:

AntiScouser – there’s always hope! I don’t believe it will happen myself, but if it did, no one would surpass Hughsie as my all time fave player. I’m not convinced that we’ll even get the win required ourselves, Sunderland won’t be an easy place to go.

  272. Collyhurst Red says:

    Ah well, still not over!

  273. Shebangsthedrums says:

F**k off Redknapp, could he look anymore pleased with himself!

  274. CedarsDevil says:

Anyone watched the match on Sky? That supporter who appeared at the end beating his badge is our very own James!!!

Get in Jimmy James, famous at last!

    UNITED UNITED UNITED

  275. Ash says:

The second half summed up our season. Jones is not a rb.period.Rafael’s talent is been wasted. Cleverley when injury free is our answer to our midfield crisis. We have not sticked with one team and that has affected us. Hernandez has had a average season. We need to look beyond Scholes, Park and giggs. As much as I love these 3 They have to make way for youngsters.

Evra should be phased out gradually. He has been our weak ling for more than 2 seasons. He had a horrific game against barca both times and has been pretty much awful whole season. Lovely fellow but He has become a liability.

We will never Die. We fought off chelsea and now we will defeat city also.

To end I will like to say Thank you to Berbatov for the goals and entertainment he has given to us. A true professional who has been treated very badly. We will always love you berba. One look at city and he said Fuck off.

    THANK YOU BERBA

“I hope people on here can direct my congratulations to Abidabhi Etihad for buying the trophy. The club known as Manchester City, now used as a vehicle for their spare time hobby will be the ones to contact. The Abidhaible United people are seldom seen.”

If the moderators let it go through I’ll be surprised. They shield the City fans from the truth. In return they are beeing called MUEN…

Watching that Summerbee smile as wide as his overwhealming belly made it all clear to me. They’ll take anything. For me, there was no trophy given in 2011/12.

Let’s take the cunts next year! Must say Cleverley looked good. Give him a Hazard or 2 to play with and we’ll be fine.

POGBA: YOU ARE A ************************************************** (imagine that word)

I must say, that SCHOLES back heal goal was just class!

  281. Bigtone says:

    ash, well said

  282. James7t7 says:

Few seasons ago we hoped Wigan could shock Chelski and that ended 8-0. QPR ain’t gonna do anything guys.. We will be fortunate on our form to win at Sunderland.

  283. CedarsDevil says:

    Costas

Right after the final whistle, the camera went to the stands and there he was, our very own James!! In his United shirt, still singing and beating the badge!

  284. Ole days says:

    Ash- Classic post mate.

  285. Costas says:

    @Cedars

Ah,I did catch that one! Awesome! Nice one James. :)

    @Ash

Spot on about Berba. I am saving my final words on the matter for the day he officially leaves.

  286. Devil310 says:

@Cedars – shit mate, I thought it was him, but I couldn’t tell from….hahahaha…that’s great!

  290. Red Harry4Life says:

I have never been so fucking angry after watching a United win.

    WTF

back to that 70s feeling of utter frustration, despair, desponency.

    Fucking shitheads.

The young players being so fuycking cascual, careless arrogrant thinking we had won the title.

The experienced players all lack BALLS. Not a fucking leader amongst them. All out ion the pitch againmst Everton and where were they?

That BLACKHOLE that is our CM.

Says a lot when our best midfielder is a 37 years old player that comes out of retirement and only plays half a season

That half baked snail paced gerodie bottler. WTF

Sicknotes Anderson and Clev can not base any hopes on them, if they are avaiable fantastic but fuck all use in the stands

Shame about Fletcher he is finished.

Park and Giggs ok can do a job occassionally but going forward forget about them

  291. Tobbs says:

    Manciniiii are you listening
You better keep our trophy glistering
    Will be back next may
    to take it away
    walking in a fergie wonderland!!

  292. Red Neville says:

Where are all the guy’s that were saying last summer we didn’t need to buy a midfielder? I think after this season – even accounting for injuries, that issue has now been put to bed. Still need a worldy aggressive ball-winner in midfield, still need a off-the-cuff, capable-of-the-spontaneous, worldy central midfielder that can actually get beyond the forwards into the box and contribute goals from centre midfield. Anybody know how many goals came from centre midfield this season? Not enough I know that.

  293. NigerianRed says:

kev e, yes he’s been booked just once and that was today, but it doesnt take away the fact that we have come to know him to display such in the past and once he gets into that mood, anything can happen. He chose the wrong day to show his frustration, i think he could have channelled his energy into his play. Maybe SAF would not have had a need to remove him. Hernandez is the one that should have been substituted but leaving Rooney would have meant the risk of not having him against Sunderland

  294. CedarsDevil says:

Shitheads? What the fuck sort of a remark is that?

Never been more proud of the lads my self….

    Shebangsthedrums

Yep, in the flesh……..He’s looking for a PR agent now!!

no no, your a tosser because you said all carrick did was “pass sideways”, even though i proved to you that he created 4 clear cut chances in the game. your also a tosser because you still haven’t admitted you were wrong even though its obvious you got ripped. also, i didnt realise a “bottlin geordie” could win so many trophies. oh and there is no way you have been supporting united for over 30 years with grammar like that. surely in your 30+ years of life you learnt how to spell. so not only are you a tosser your a liar as well. thanks for the laugh tosser

  296. kenyan Red says:

Well atleast now we know how it feels to be an Arsenal fun!!

  297. Red Harry4Life says:

Said that Newcastle would bend over and take it up the shitter and I was 100% right.

And even if Nerwcastle had of done something these bunch of tossers would have found some way of fucking it all up

  298. Costas says:

Not saying we don’t need new signings, because we do. At least 3.

However, what really made the difference this week was the injury situation. City relied heavily on Toure and Kompany for their 2 massive wins. These 2 are the equivalent of Fletcher and Vidic for us. And of course, they weren’t the only 2 players to get injured this season. I kind of cringed when I heard Fergie thank his medical staff today…

  299. Brendan says:

Get in mourinho , fergie has lost it for us, can’t believe it we had it and we blew it , anyway I’m off to the bookies to collect 600 quid , had 100 on utd to win 2-0 at 5/1 I’m off to the pub..

  300. Costas says:

I hear that Fergie brought up Hughes quite a bit in his post match interview. Ha. Don’t know if it will be enough though. Hughes could survive just by losing…

  301. Red Harry4Life says:

Shitheads describe exactly what those tosser did this season.

8 fucking points clear – Thought that they were already champions and they still managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory!!

They did not turn up at Wigan and as for that Everton performance – all that title winning experience on the pitch and not a pair of balls between them.

  302. United4life says:

We need to focus on next year. Alex needs to bring in 3-4 players. 2 superstars at least. City will keep on spending and so will chelsea. We are United! Should be competing for the CL,PL and FA.
SAF, you can’t be happy with this united team?

  303. Red Neville says:

    Albert Ross:

    P.S. Hope you die soon.

  314. friveluss says:

i think looking at the how empty the stadium was after the game i felt the fans were justified in voicing their opinion through action. it is COMPLETELY illogical to expect supporters to be some mindless ever optimistic robots that receive complacency and lethargy with open arms and sing the praises of carelessness.

i have said before, sir alex may have gotten his tactics woefully wrong at times, especially in europe this season but there is no doubt in my mind that once he acquired an 8goal lead he had done enough to secure the title. from there it was the players that threw it back with some mind boggling performances.

so i hope they took a good look around the stadium to realise that the team-supporter relationship is one of reciprocity, all we ask for is maximum effort where it counts most. this means that we can win in a disgraceful manner, but lose in an honorable manner as well. its the effort, the spirit, the drive, the hunger. its the essence of united that we sing for. in this regard, its been a while since iv seen a united side more deserving of an empty theatre.

all that said, it should only serve as a lesson to the youngsters, sometimes the pain of defeat is a more potent catalyst than the joy of success, n some of the youngsters need this lesson.

looking forward to next season i would have preferred to see fabio being groomed as a replacement for evra who has proven to be a rather inconspicuous Achilles tendon in our defense. fergies latest comments virtually imply we will be signing young possibly unknown players in the summer so lets hope our existing players in ando n cleverly stay fit!

thats my little rant. from ur south african fanbase.

good god, you just don’t know when to stop do you. the only true great you’ve seen play was scholes today. im not going to keep explaining how and why you got ripped, if you cant understand what i said before thats your problem. disagree all you want.. your still wrong and still a tosser.

As is the custom after the final home game of a season, Sir Alex Ferguson took to the microphone to address the Old Trafford crowd.

Here is what he had to say:

“I don’t know how many times I’ve said it but without the support we’ve had we wouldn’t be near winning the championship for the past 20 years. So thank you, everyone. Well done.

“I’d like to thank all my medical and coaching staff, the directors, the supporters. And hopefully next week we’ll have the biggest celebration of our lives.

“Once again, thank you for your fantastic support. Well done, all the best.”

I think if you ask any united fan g how they are feeling it would be frustrated and angry. With good reason as we have done a Devon lock. We have choked, we have bottled it big time, Hopefully the youinger players will have learnt something from this.

james21, so that was you on TV we saw!

funny that as bad as we supposedly are, we could end up the season pretty much tied on points with the team that spent a billion dollars on players.

a couple of good signings, hopefully less injuries and we will still be challenging next season.

Have you watched Carrick this half of the season and how immense he’s been?
I don’t think you have, because this was the year Carrick put all the doubters to bed, seems there’s still a few of you “tossers” according to you, still around. Yes we need a midfielder, state the obvious why don’t you Mr Genius, its talking shit about own that gets to me.

“receive complacency and lethargy with open arms and sing the praises of carelessness. ”

That describes exactly 100% what we witnessed over the last couple of weeks.

So so so so so so frustrating losing this Title like this with all the injuries, with the way we clawed it all back just to then bottle it and throw it away.

  328. Clint-Iamyourpapii says:

  330. CedarsDevil says:

I understand fuck all from the last post

  331. friveluss says:

    Red Harry,
correct, and my biggest fear is that the side do not appreciate the severity of what they have done. reason being fergie has had to issue a statement promising fans “a response” far more than a united manager should ever be expected to.

  332. Red Harry4Life says:

I feel so frustrated because i have lived through the 26 years of frustration and my attitude is that you have to grasp each and every opportunity with both hands as you may never get another chance.

so losing like this feels so so …………..god can not put into words what I am feeling.

will we spend in the summer?

    Will we address our problems?

Will shitty not out spend us again?

    Will Chelsea not spend again?

As long as we have SAF we will always have a chance. Could take the cast of the Walking Dead and win the Title. The miracle man

Will QPR do anything other than bend over and take it up the shitter I don’t think so.

  333. KingOfStretfordEnd says:

    @Costas
Rightly said. Sometimes I do feel slightly embarrassed at my optimism earlier. Hurt is not a word to be used when it’s our doing. Anyway zero expectations no hopes. Looking forward to the next season.

    @mattos
It’s just on the official website evra’s interview

  334. Mr C says:

Strange season. Both impressive and disappointing at the same time. Miracles do happen and God’s a Red so still hoping against my better judgment that the Almighty has something up his sleeve. Anyway, that’s enough theology for the moment.

    The good bits:

    a) Cutting back and overhauling City’s lead despite the severity of our injury problems, City’s much greater resources , and us going through a period of rebuilding. Anyone underplaying this achievement should have a look On the basis of injuries alone we had no right to expect to finish more than 3rd or 4th, much less be level on points, so respect is due there. Scholes’ influence has been crucial here.

    b) Seeing De Gea, Smalling, Jonny E, Rafael, Jones and Young for the most part stepping up to the plate. I’m not really fan of Rooney (don’t ask) but nuff respect to the guy in footballing terms for scoring a bucket-load of goals AND keeping himself disciplined for most the season.

    The bad bits:

    a) Our poor European performances against skilled, football playing sides is worrying. So much for ‘fast paced football’ ; skill, organisation and guide will always trump running around like headless chicken stuff.

    b) A worrying lack complacency / lack of killer instinct on the part of the team that is unusual for a SAF side. The drawn Everton game has effectively cost us the title if QPR get beat by City as expected, which is all the more frustrating given the valiant effort made by the team in overhauling City in the first place.

    c) Berbatov – another supremely talented player to add to the list of Worthington, Currie, Le Tissier traditionally under used in English football. A crime against football.

Are wholesale changes needed? I think not – when fit I think we have the personnel within the squad. Tactics and team selection? There is perhaps more scope there as at times I think we got things wrong. But shit happens and if you don’t try new approaches things can and usually do end up worse, which is why SAF has been here for 20 years+.

Finally, some on here are deluding themselves it they believe trying to match City or Chelski by splashing out loads on some You Tube pushed ‘star’ is going to make much of a difference. City have spent gazillions on good players and are above us on goal average only…Chelsea and Liverpool have done the same and are way below us. There are very few Messi’s and Ronaldos out there…where are all the Sneijder fans now?

  335. MG says:

    I’m right behind Cedars

Second with a great big heart

Hell losing to Barca was bad this would be bad as it’s looking to be

It’s always the same, so in these thoughts it’s still a privilege to support United

    19
i may just have to keep on writing that for a while longer – unless Sparky comes up with a motherfucker of a plan

To hell with it – why haven’t we just played like this over the last 2 weeks? Baffling but hey i hope they learn from it.

  336. Dazbomber says:

I am told this is the worst United side for ages , and the best Money Whore side for ages but the fact is we are level on points and we can still win the league next week  . How bad are we and how good are they don’t believe the hype

  337. Red Van Nistelrooy says:

Ah so finally caught a glimpse of James, or the VOICE!!
    Signed photo please mate ;-)

  338. Redline says:

One of the major reasons why City will win the Premiership rather than us is that, when it matters, in the important games, their ‘big’ players are more likely to rise to the occasion and produce high-level performances than ours. With the possible exception of Vidic, United don’t have any ‘big’ players capable of performing to their best in high-pressure games. We lose concentration, and get careless, and have no-one capable of bringing the game back under control, either by example or leadership.

Just as damaging, our season has also been disrupted by baffling team selections, lack of on-field organisation, and sometimes even complacency, all of which lie at the manager’s door. Injuries have been lengthy and unfortunate, but with a big squad, we should have been able to cope better. Let’s hope that this summer’s recruits are not just for the future, otherwise our chances of staying close to the top, or competing for honours at home and abroad in the next few years, will gradually fall away.

  339. Shebangsthedrums says:

Costas – I don’t think you can blame the medical staff for Fletchers IBS and Vidic’s injury was just bad luck.
Some people really are unrealistic and wear rose tinted glasses. If memory serves me correctly, even our previous great teams (as this one is supposedly not vintage, whatever that means), have lost titles. In 95, we lost Cantona and couldn’t win the league without him despite having players such as Ince, Keane, Giggs etc. Same in 98. I could go on, but it’s obviously wasted on some on here. We can’t win the title every year and if you think about would you want to? What would it mean if that happened! It would be worthless. That’s why it’ll be all the sweeter when we win it back. People calling for Fergusons head should be ashamed of themselves, how ungrateful and arrogant. He is Manchester United, he is why we challenge for trophies year in year out for over 20 years, you can’t win ‘em all, get used to it.

  340. Red Harry4Life says:

    friveluss

Mate I do think that we have some younger players who will learn a great deal and progress.

Smalling you could see today was hurting big time and was busting his ass all afternoon.

Jones, Clevs, Wellbeck, Young I feel will all be better players next season,

DDG i have always said will be one of the greatest keepers we have ever had.

Mind you I have given up hope on RAFA as I do not think he has learnt was at fault for 3 of the everton goals. I think bilbao’s 3rd goal summarises what is wrong with Rafa.

  341. MG says:

It seems as if 100,000 pound more than the 100,000 a week seems to do things to players

    Quick pay Bebe more

You never know something incredible might happen next week

  342. friveluss says:

    Red Harry,
i think without a shadow of a doubt we will spend in the summer, albeit the manner in which we spend may spell more misery. why? well fergies latest comments speak of how united is good at bringing youngsters through. possibly a statement to tenderize fans to imminent “who’s that?” kind of transfers.

my problem with these statements is they are not true in recent years, well certainly not in the centre of the pitch. as a matter of fact when was the last time our youth system produced a world class player? the reputation of our youth system is largely retrospective, this season it seems we just lost the best two prospects we had.so if we wont spend for class, i get nervous at the prospect of “youth”. i believe we have more than enough “prospective” talent within the squad, now with the necessity to address our midfield it should be “proven” young players. but it doesn’t seem we have the funds for that.

  343. Collyhurst Red says:

  355. KingOfStretfordEnd says:

We need some big names in to build our young lads around them. Tbh the “big name” we have now is Rooney, but today is an example of what happens when he’s way off the mark. When Ronaldo was just a raw potential he had the big names around him that helped his development-Nistelrooy, Ole, Keano.

Just have to admit it. City performed when it mattered the most, and we didn’t.

I just can’t digest this. 8 points just lost like that. We don’t need a player overhaul, just an attitude overhaul. Our lads have been yakking a lot off pitch, but many performances on pitch were otherwise. And to think we were delighted when the floodgates opened for the first 5 games. Its ok, I’d rather have out usual stuttering one nils start next season onwards.

Right that’s it then, level on points still a match to play(worth three points I believe when 2 points would be enough to win a 20th title, if we win our last game and city draw) bollocks to this shit club. I’m of to buy a City shirt. No not with cash but on plastic of course. Massive

Good game from Smalling ..Our future is very bright… If city win this year they will not win it again next year cause they will sell their players and buy other new players… bringing the squad out of balance and increased egos.

Hope QPR defend well for the whole game against city.

AND hope united sign Kagawa and Hazard plus a quality new left back

  358. Redline says:

Seems that complacency doesn’t just affect our players and management. Those of you telling yourselves how well we’ve done this season, just ask yourselves these questions.. After this year’s campaign, are we really any closer to the elite sides of European football? Have we progressed from the disappointments against Barcelona to develop a winning style of play at the highest level? Are we capable of imposing our game on more committed opponents? Do we have the ability to close out games effectively? Are we confident that this summer’s recruits will galvanise our domestic performances? Answers?

Here’s to one last Berbagasm against Sunderland next week!

Not buying a quality midfielder – in fact two – last summer was insane – giving scholes another year ninsane – relying on fletcher anderson clev insane m
We went into transition 3 years ago and in that time a lot of players have grown old – most players in the best sides are between 24 – 30 we have very few – our signings are

Can’ t believe all the coments I am reading here. Cussing off our players, our captain, our manager and club. What for? Splitting first with City who have outspent the rest of the PL together. SAF has brought in 3 young player and brought up 2 young players and we are still joint leaders with City. People need to get a grip, spoilt thats what u are, spoilt.
