I think it’s very harsh to criticise the team, particularly the midfield, when we’re playing away from home and the other team has only had one shot on goal and we’ve had eleven corners. But we’ve not created enough, that would be the big concern for me.

Of the midfield four (or five, depends on how you look at the formation) only Valencia has been decent. And we’re so unsure in defence. But it’s probably not easy for them with Vidic only just back from injury up against two huge centre forwards, and they’re getting little to no help from Gibson & Carrick. Just put on Nani, Anderson & Chicha as soon as possible.

We got a penalty from a ball to hand, I’ve seen them not given. Our Captain dodged two bullets. We committed two penalty offences and both were given. On balance, yeah, I think we had luck with the referee. Not a hell of a lot of luck, but enough.

I agree with that. Valencia was a threat throughout. He links up so well with Rooney, for example ahead of the 2-2 goal. Rooney has probably missed Valencia a lot. Valencia MUST start against Chelsea.
As for Rooney, he got stick at some point today, but imo he is like Ronaldo now. MOre than any player, he can tun a game on its head even when he is playing bad. Which he wasn’t anyway. he was just isolated.

The return of both Park and TonyV is a mega boost.

Bebrbatov was SHEER CLASS. WONDERFUL PLAY from the Bulgarian. We didn’t even use Nani. We might have smashed 6 past them ( jokes). Berbatov MUST play on wednesday. too brilliant to be on a bench.
Towards the end of the match, the sight of Nani, Giggs, Berbatov, Valencia and Hernandez in the opposition box, I cant think of anyone else with such a talented attacking power!

I think so too, but can he play 2 games in a 4 days? I also thought that the Nani thing was piss take. Fergie only brought him on when the game was ours. To be honest, I started wondering if Nani was silently punished for his comments last week.
The team will have a couple of players back for Chelsea so we look good in that regard. I hope Edwin and Evra make it too.
Maybe the short sleeves have something to do with Berba’s magic touch. I liked the way we kept possession and ran down the clock. We may be depleted but we played like true champions. Hopefully he can. Valencia looks like he’s back to something at least approaching full fitness. But if he’s still not 100% it would be better to go easy on him, so that he doesn’t get injured again.
The comments about not being allowed to play as freely as he’d like? Yes, it’s possible. I thought it was strange that Nani didn’t come on earlier, but luckily we didn’t need him that bad today. But he has been one of our most creative players this season so I feared that Alex had fucked up by now getting him on.
Was Evra really injured though? I thought Alex took Evra off because he was poor. What type of injury did he have?

Yeah, I thought it was weird too. It’s seems most likely that he’s injured, because why take off Evra and play Giggs at left-back and further unsettle the side at 0-2 if there’s no injury? Giggs at left-back turned out well but at the time it seemed strange.
Yes, Fabio was good, but I don’t know if he’s ready to start in such a big game. Chelsea’s power and “tricks” may be too much to him too early. But maybe we’ll have to use him if our injury situation doesn’t improve.
And how important was that first goal. From the free kick, can’t remember the last time we scored from it.

today felt like the everton match a few years back when we came back from 2 down to win 4 2 . it pushed us on to win the title, the confidence from todays result should see us over the line. a fresh nani and hopefully anderson against chelsea will be a boost.
Giggs was a great leader in the second half. He led by example. Like when he made that run forward and crossed to Chicha within the first 30 seconds. Great great man.

Most people just get frustrated at players during games, I’m guilty now and again but credit due Carrick (Who I quite like as a player) Played well. Gibson tends to go missing and I hope I’m wrong but I’m not sure if he’ll make it, all depends on who SAF Buys in the summer. We always look better when Berba plays the Man is class.
