The German champions’ chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told a press conference today that the player has moved to Old Trafford as he wanted a new challenge.
The deal for Schweinsteiger is believed to be worth around £14million, with Schweinsteiger having apparently agreed a three-year contract worth around £140,000-a-week.

Schweinsteiger came to the conclusion that he wants a new challenge. We tried to make him stay, but we understand his wish.
