what happened to vidic?… hope we can have our captain back.
Where is our nemanja missing him
The squad looks very weak……….Hope the other lads return with no injuries
Vidic joins when they come back to europe and visit scandinavia. Berbatov is in the squad, which suggests there is no immediate transfer taking place. Unless he stays in China when the rest of the squad moves on…?
I won’t be surprised at all if we lose some of the tour games, but it will be really a good warm up for the young lads such as Tunnicliffe, Veseli, Powell and others to show their potential and try claim a spot in the first team should there be injuries to our main players during the season
wat happnd to the other members of the team****Rooney,Vidic,Evans,Rafa, evra…….etc
Glad he’s taking a lot of younsters, they will take a lot of experience from the tour.
Wow, great to see bebe go along….
He’s a fantastic player, he will prove some of you wrong mark my words
Bebe?
Taking out Rio and Scholes who have been world class players and coming to the end its fair to say we do not have one world class player in that squad. If we odnt add real class then we can kiss another European cup dream goodbye.
Its time to add there is not one youngster in that squad that is actually ready to make the step up.
VIDIC will join the squad on the european leg of the tour. As will most of the “big boys”. This is a good squad although it is a bit weak but this is hardly the champions league is it? It’s pre-season. I could care less about results. Al-Hilal beat Manchester City… that tells you all you need to know about pre-season. All about getting fit for the big one.
Squad for the tour is a mixture younger and experienced players. I think it will be interesting. The likes of petrucci and tunnicliffe can show what they can offer. Both need to step it up, impress and take their opportunities. Big fan petrucci. Lingard makes the team, very talented player with potential i hope will be fulfilled.
Brady seems a talent too, this will be his chance. Tyler blackett is probably a reason why FERGIE isn’t fussed about fryers leaving. Seems already built physically. Athletic, power, pace and a thunderous left foot. Loads of high potential in the squad. We need get these players playing and filling them with confidence that they could make the step up. They also have to grab their chances.
Likes of anderson will get another chance to kickstart their careers e.t.c
Giggs12 Kagawa isn’t a world class player to you? erm Ok.
Reserves + new signings.
That squad made me do a little wee.
Giggs12 – if united don’t play the younger players then how would we know if they’re good enough?.
Will Keane injured for 9 months just can’t believe it thought he would be the first to make the cut to first team anyways will be good to see tunnicliffe petrucci and the new signings
Wow! I love it. Our new youngstars get a big opportunity to shine! Losing some games? I dont care, they have to play to become stars as you desire.
I don’t know what al the fuss is about. It’s pre-season and there has been a european cup and now the olympics, what do some ppl expect of the players? To go without any rest whatsoever? I’m haveing a hard time believing any big european team fielding a full strenght squad in the first games of the pre-season.
Theese are the players missing:
Rooney
Nani
Young
Jones
Andersson *
Smalling *
De Gea
Evra
Evans *
Giggs
Welbeck
Vidic
Fletcher *
Cleverly
Rafael
(15 total!)
* = injured
If you can’t find at least a couple of world class players in there maybe you need to visit some sort of clinic. I know that Gerrard12 reffered to the squad mentioned above but as I first wrote it’s alot of internationals missing.
And calling Ferdinand, Scholes, Valencia, Carrick and Hernandez reserves is just plain ignorant.
I’m thrilled to see the youngsters and I’m going to see them in Gothenburg in August (although maybe a few internationals have linked up by then) and I have faith in the squad as a whole. If we pushed City to goal difference last season with the injuries we had, with a better luck with injuries (it was a joke last season) and two new signings + eventually one more I’m confident we can reclaim the PL and at least reach last eight in CL.
Rant over.

Mate if you read my posts I have been banging no about Kagawa for the best part of 6 months. He is absolute class. is he world class can we say yes at this time? No we cant im sure we will over the next year or so but you cat just dish out world class status just because he has signed for us you have to earn it.
Samuel
I absolutely agree mate but when you dont have the mix and its all just youth what exprience are they getting?
Mikael
im not ignorant and I never called anyone reserves read it again buddy. Also Gerrard certainly doesnt have 12
When I say world class players I mean when selecting a world 11 from any team who would get in?
At last I will see how good or bad this youngsters are…
Imo in SA, they will not lose a single game
Our youngsters are too good for the teams we are going to face in the rainbow nation
I expect the lads to give the SA teams a hiding.
Good to see per-season game start. I am worrying about incoming new season, we rely on too many youngster step up which I doubt that happen. How many youngster we want to step up, 6,7? Goalie, 3 defenders, 2 central mids, 1 forward, 1 new comer from German league. There is no way half of squad players suddenly set up one or two level at once.
Hope Fergie recruit one or two a bit more reliable players.
Anderson is on board
Giggs12: Haha, total FAIL with the Gerrard ;o)
Never said you were the one that called them reservers so don’t bother with that bit, it was bayoRED (with I failed to mention).
In this current squad, no I don’t see a world class player, but I don’t expect to either ’cause of what I mentioned… it’s not possible to throw the best team available for this pre-season.
We need to change the training methods every year we have major injuries this is not unlucky..hamstrings groin hernias..
The players I am looking out for are: Petrucci, Tunnicliffe and Blackett. This is probably the best chance for these lads to impress the Gaffer. I wish all the young lads all the best and hope they have a great tour. I am not bothered about the results but I really want to see if the lads have got what it takes to make it at Utd. It’s time to take it up a notch lads.
Mikael
No danger mate, i think we have a decent squad but for me I am just worried we are not making it a world class one. we had a lot more quality in 2008, we have since lost Tevez, Ronaldo, Hargreaves! Giggs, Scholes, and Rio another year older (we say this every year). Anderson four years on and we still dont know if he is ever going to fulfil his promise. Wes Brown the best right back in England that year gone.
I am one of the biggest realists on this blog and I never get down about United but I also want to highlight this is not a Eurpean cup winning team. I know Chelea won i last year and they never but I mean Europe on a normal year.
Gonna add the dates and times for the matches in my smartphone. Aah godbless technology i simply can’t keep up w all of my appts and things to do. Now i never miss a match
Also can’t wait for the games to begin, even if it is just pre-season. I need my United fix.
By the way where is Larnell Cole?? Didn’t he just sign a new contract?
Any news on why Cleverly is not going?
Giggs12. Cleverley has been selected for the Olympic squad hence he is not going on the pre season tour.
Looking forward to: Blackett, Petrucci, Vermijl. These three are ones likely to make jump to 1st team. If we bedded in the twins at 17/18, then these lads do not need loans but games. Powell and Kagawa and how they blend in.
Utd4life
Cheers buddy I had realised that, execllent news as Clev needs competitive games.
Giggs12
I agree we do not have a european cup-winning team… yet. I think we’ll probably see alot of news on how the team will look like in the coming years this season, hopefully good news. I think SAF will try too bring thrugh a new crop of youngsters in Petrucci, Tunnicliff, Blacket and perhaps Larnell Cole to see if they have what it takes.
But it’s all good being a realist, wee need those too ;o) I’ll bring the blind faith and you’ll bring the voice of reason! ;o)
Giggsy12,
Clevs busy in Olympics with Giggsy…
Someone just asked me, why is pogba not participating?
And my answer was:
He went to visit his older brother mario in italy
He might join in once they have met.
And he thought I was kidding….
Anyone who can explain better?
Hopefully we will have more defenders available for the second leg of the tour.
Mikael
Never called Ferdinand a reserve, yes that would be ignorant however you cant run away from the fact that the squad going to RSA is mostly reserves (coz of EURO 2012) and those who didnt get enough games last season (due to injury and other reasons). Its not a bad thing coz its an opportunity for them to stake a claim so, infact pointing out that there are reserve players in the travelling party is not CRITICISM and it shouldn’t hurt your feelings. Reserves are our young United players who also bleed red and most of us(without MUTV subscription) are dying to see them in action.
To have Bebe back in this squad is an insult to every United fan , this guy is no better than amateur league standard , what an awful affair this transfer was , stinks to high heavens and now we are getting our facese rubbed in it!!
Bebe actually scored 2 goals for United in just a few matches.
He’s had a hard time. Give him a chance.
@Walter
In the absence of our first choice wingers why shouldn’t Bebe be given a chance? He was by no means an embarrassment in the games he’s been involved in for us. Some players take time to bed in and tune in to the pace of Premier League football – considering Bebe’s background I suspect it is this, and not any lack of skill, pace, physical or mental strength, that is the issue.
Like I alluded to earlier, I’m especially excited that so many of our youngsters have the opportunity to be involved in these games. I’m a big fan of Blackett, Petrucci and Lingard – and have a lot of time for Vermijl & Tunnicliffe also. All were excellent in the reserves (Tunni at The Posh) last season and deserve their chance while the big guns have a well earned break.
I hope Kiko starts this pre-season as lively as he did in the last, and doesn’t get bogged down by injuries/competition for places. It’s tough and he may only have limited chances to shine so it’s important that he takes them. I do think the lad is United quality though, and like Berba it’s more a question of whether we can keep him than whether he is good enough.
I’m glad to see that there are people fighting in Bebe’s corner. I also still have hopes that he will make it. I cant back this with any technical or other arguments as Im no expert in judging potential and honestly we havent seen much of the lad. So I can only hope he fulfills whatever potential people saw in him. He is a YOUNG lad with time on his side.
So Rio is the only recognised two-legged defender doing pre-season.
Perhaps the monopods joining the second leg will include Vidic, or is that a bit lame?
Hoping to see some Petrucci actions
Another day, nothing intresting from the market!!!!”
With this squad we cannot even beat Barcelona ‘B’ team.
oh BEBE oh BEBE!!
@ ashwinred – you’ve totally missed the point, haven’t you read the posst above?
@walter (11.44) – we only saw Bebe a couple of times so far – give him a break, and show a bit of respect to a United player, you a-hole
@ Dohaknob You might have only seen Bebe a few times but I have sen him at least a dozen times including the reserves where he was so out of his league it was embarrassing , I also seen him go as sub and then get subbed again , He is amatuer league level at best and it is embarrasing to see him in the shirt. I believe you should be able to play football to a professional level to have the honour of wearing the famous shirt and he is no-where near it , If he can play for United then so can I and I am in my forties!!!
I don’t know about u guys but ui don’t have such high hopes for Powell except that wonder goal I don’t se much else that makes him special. His youtube videos doesn’t make me giddy, not even a bit.Ramsey was a better talent
Walter – change your name to wanker
@dohafruit , Sorry didnt realise you have a mancrush on Bebe or something , you like to give him one up the ass sweet cheeks??
Haha, nice one Wally. You got a fertile imagination that shows here your mind goes, bender.
i dont know half of the names….
