Rafael and Fabio da Silva have been extremely impressive in their time at Manchester United, proving to be a lot more than the gimick some of us (including myself) half expected them to be.
Fabio’s shoulder injury kept him out of the first team, whilst Rafael competed with Gary Neville for the starting spot at right-back, and won! His goal against Arsenal was just a taster of what he is capable of.
This week, Fabio scored a hat-trick whilst playing as a left-back for the Reserves, proving again just how able he is. He came from Brazil as the more highly rated of the pair and there is great anticipation over seeing them both bombing down our wings.
However, the twins have today revealed that when they were teenagers at Fluminense, a man claiming to be an Arsenal scout tried to convince the pair to go to London without informing the club, with the intention of signing for Arsenal.
“We were not too happy with the way he approached us,” said Rafael. “The scout said he was from Arsenal and invited us to come and train. At that time we had already been to see Manchester United and train once with our club’s permission. But this man wanted to take us to England and say nothing to Fluminense. We disagreed with that principle. Fluminense was where we started, we had been there for years and they looked after us.”
Fabio also wasn’t best pleased with the situation but confirmed it was their mum who had the last word on the situation.
“It was upsetting,” he added. “We could have signed there and then and taken all the money and Fluminense would have got nothing. But our mother said ‘No, Fluminense have been good to you. You went there when you were 11. I want you to do everything right’. So we said we would sign for Manchester as it would be the best thing for us and Fluminense. So we signed and ignored the man pushing Arsenal.”
This scout has not been named though and there is no confirmation that he was working for Arsenal.
Oh Rafael da Silva, he comes Brazil, he tackles hard, he’s fast as fuck and he’s got bags of skill. He signed for Man United to play down our right wing, and if he’s ever injured then we’ll play his fucking twin… Oh Fabio da Silva, he comes from Brazil, he tackles hard, he’s fast as fuck and he’s got bags of skill. He signed for Man United to play down our left wing, and if he’s ever injured then we’ll play his fucking twin… Oh Rafael da Silva……

Man Utd News 24/7

hmmmm…….interesting, thank God they are not twats and could have been easily convinced by Money like a certain wanker called Obi Mikel.
Now the Boys can settle down and concentrate on their football, very soon Rafael would be English Champion at least. Gerard is still looking for his first Premier League Medal. Anderson has got every medal that Steve me has won bar the FA cup. hahahahaha
Hopefully he didnt work for Arsenal.I have never heard stories of illegal approaches by them. There is the Fabregas story with Barca but we did the same with PIque.Otherwise,i think they have been respectgul to the clubs.Probably someone trying to make money on their name.
Here is the Fabio Hat trick

A quote from an Evra interview.
Last book that you read?
“I don’t read a lot, to be honest. Although I do like football books, particularly ones on United and the club’s history.”
Isn’t he the greatest.
I would be very disappointed if this turns out to be true. I hope it isn’t.
Personally I feel our general conduct when signing players and doing business is quite ethical (as far it can be in the football business). So would be very surprised if it’s true.
As far as Barca and Fabregas go, I would question Barcelona’s and Real Madrid’s ethics far more than I would pretty much any other English club barring the new regime at Man City and Chelsea. Barca for one have consistently tapped up and in many cases been successful in nabbing our players. As have Madrid when they went after Anelka and Viera in the past.
Football agents must have to go down as some of shadiest people around.
probably some pedo who tried to do it.
really nice to see the loyalty of the Da Silvas.its time Fabio slots in the 1st team.
twilight are you suggesting that Wenger himself made the approach? I think you might be right
We can’t really comment unless it’s true though alot of the English clubs do tend to flash the cash to a player and the players family to get them to sign and teams, even as big as Barcelona, struggle with that. It’s not in their structure to offer young players a fortune and jobs for their family that’s why Fabergas took the cash of Arsenal.
Fabio in two to three years time will dislodge Evra as the permanent LB
Rafael will have to battle a fully fit WB to get his spot
the future looks bright!
———Frosty———-
Rafa–Jonny–Vid—Fabs
Ron–Ando–Cazza–Nani
—–Wazza—Berbs—-
Injuries seem a concern, barring that they look they will be world-beaters pretty soon
Dont see why he hasn’t been given a run out at RB? O’Shakey’s done so- so but Fabio would in all probability done a far better job if given the chance afforded to Rafael!!
I agree with jamos9…surely Fabio can play right back. Or hell, put him at left mid and give him a shot to work with Evra behind him… Anyone else agree??
prob wenger trying to get the ride
